Hey.~ So, this one's a long one and a bit all over the place, but it's a mix of adventure, calmness, mystery, thefts, training and a bit more. I hope you enjoy. Again, if anyone has any names for the puppies in this, go ahead and messaged me. It's slightly annoying calling them puppies. The normal 18 are half girls, half boys and the Albino one is a boy. Anyways, enjoy.
Chapter 20: Life is Unexpected
Gogo's POV
It's day 5 of Adrena Lynn being here, yet day 3 of training her. I was getting slightly annoyed with her, but I knew this would happen. It took me a bit to realize, with different categories she learns in different styles with them.
Physical Training; she learns by watching and doing. Mental learning is the problem, we're trying to figure it out. I had tried flash cards, reading, history films, but none of them seem to fully stick. Don't get me wrong, she remembers half of the stuff, but she either can't remember the other half or she forgets it when she learns something new. I had to remember people can't be a genius like me, but this was frustrating. I sighed in annoyance before going up to her.
"Adrena, we're gonna go out now." I told her, we both needed a vent.
"It's because I'm annoying you, isn't it?" She asked me, trying not to look upset.
"We need a mental brake, so I think we should test your ability to steal." I told her, trying to keep her confidence up. She sighed, but stood up.
"I'll work harder, but a mental break sounds good, Boss." She tells me, causing another sigh to escape my lips.
"Adrena, you don't need to call me boss." I remind her as she went to get her shoes.
I noticed she had a small rug to the left of the elevator and kept her shoes there, a way to keep less dirt from being tracked in. I appreciated that very much.
"Right, sorry. I just feel I should call you that. I'll try not to." She told me as she tied on her boots.
I shook my head side to side, but I had a small smile on my face. She was considerate at least. I took her down to the inventing/storage room, having her follow me to a small area in the front left that had different types of accessories for theft jobs. Grappling hooks, alarm disablers, etc.
"Pick out what you think we'll need for a heist." I told her, showing her everything I had. She looked about, then looked at me.
"May I ask what the heist is?" She asked me, causing me to smile.
"Yes, very good. Always know the place before planning. We're going to the Natural History Museum in London. By the time we arrive, it will be nightfall." I tell her, impressed she was thinking logically instead of rationally like she tends to do.
"Okay, so what's the item?" She asked me once more.
"Glad you asked. There are two stones we are going to steal called Painite. It's extremely rare and more valuable then most gems right now." I informed her, causing her to look over everything once more.
"How big are they?" She asked me.
"Well, both weigh less than 1 pound, so that should tell you." I told her, wanting her to estimate on her own. She took a while to think before grabbing only 5 items and a beg next to the shelf.
"I'm ready." She tells me, causing me to nod.
"Good, let's go then." I tell her, guiding her up to the garage to the mini-jet.
This one was a 2 seater that can revert into one or two motorcycles. I swear, I had every kind of jet out there. I was now flying us across the world as Adrena looked at her feet the whole time.
"Adrena, you need to conquer your fear of heights. There are going to be times you have to fly, jump, anything like that." I tell her, causing her to tense up.
"Aren't you afraid of anything?" She asked me, causing me to tense up a little.
"Yes, yes I am afraid of things." I tell her softly, causing her to look up at me.
"You don't have to tell me, but you understand what it's like." She tells me, knowing I'd understand.
"Yes, but there's a difference." I tell her, trying to be gentle with my reasonings.
"Which is?" She asked me, growing more curious than before.
"I'm not only working on my fears, I know not to let them hold me down." I told her, trying to be factual.
"See, I wish I could be brave like you." She tells me, leaning in her seat with her arms crossed.
"Is that why you act first? Why you're reckless?" I questioned her, causing her to sulk more.
"Here is some valuable advise. Being Brave doesn't mean you go looking for it. Being brave means, even when you're afraid, you do what you feel is right or do what you need to to survive. I show off and such because it's fun, I'm not afraid. I am, however, afraid of failing in life." I confessed, causing her to perk up.
"You're afraid of that?" She questioned me in shock.
"Among a few minor things, yes. Some fears tend to ration from things in our past, or things we've seen. My fear stimulated because of my eldest brother. He turned my other brothers against me, made me feel awful about myself and made it seem like I was a burden to everyone. What made my fear appear was how I would fail something because of them, how I was told I'd fail in my dreams. Even when, by some miracle, I finally succeeded, it felt hollow. I had a hollow victory, which made me fear my success was nothing. When I joined Hench Co, Uncle Jack saw the potential I had, much like I do with you. I became the ninja so that, even if I failed, it wasn't me that failed. I hate losing games, but failing is my fear. Failing to impress, failing to survive, failing to succeed, just failure of any kind. I brave through those fears every time I fight, steal, escape and more. I fear, if I fail, not only will I be forgotten but that I will have proved my older brother's words of 'just there' are true. It's why I am glad Fin and Sid are there to feed me, because I'd be so wrapped up in making sure I succeed that I'd forget to eat or even sleep. I know I've failed in stealing items, but when I get praised it helps dim the fear. It's also why I have a problem with making bets, because it triggers my failing fear and forces me to prove everyone wrong." I explained to her, knowing full well she was listening to me.
"Is that why you get slightly frustrated when teaching me history and stuff?" She questioned me.
"A little bit, but it's also because you learn differently from me. I have an idyllic photographic memory. Once I learn about items, books, people, animals and plants, I'll never forget it. Even if I met them once, I remember them unless there's some circumstances. For example, if it's too dark to see, I won't know the face butt will know the voice. It's how I can read most people, how I can understand them. I still don't understand much of flirting vs kindness or teasing, but I'm still learning." I confess as I took us above the clouds.
"Oh,~ that explains why you're smart." She said, finally understanding why I am the way I am.
"Adrena, I want you to look outside." I told her, causing her to stiffen up.
"Nuh-uh, no~ way." She told me, arms moving to show an X then moved like she was swatting. I rolled my eyes before smirking.
"Okay, then look up and tell me what you see." I tell her. She seemed confused, but complied.
"The sky, a blueish, golden pink sky." She told me. I then flipped the jet upside down, causing her to yelp.
"Now what do you see?" I asked her, smirking in satisfaction.
"The clouds?" She asked me more than told.
"Yes, the top of the clouds." I told her, causing her eyes to grow wide.
"We-we're-" She started but I interrupted her.
"Upside down? Yes, yes we are. See, now you're still looking up instead of down. Anything you see below you is now above you." I tell her, hoping this psychological trick works.
"Yeah, but what are you planning?" she asked me. I lowered below the clouds, showing her the ocean below us.
"What do you see, now?" I asked her.
"The ocean, so what?" She asked me, still not understanding.
"And what color is it?" I questioned her.
"What's with the questions?" She asked me in annoyance.
"Trust me, there's a point." I tell her, causing her to sigh in annoyance.
"Well, it's mostly blue and black, a hint of green and yellow from the sun." She tells me.
"Did you know, the only reason why the sky looks blue to us is because of the ocean?" I asked her, causing her to look at me in confusion.
"So?" She asked me, confused why I'm bringing this up.
"Well, the sun is very powerful with light, which is why you shouldn't stare at it directly. When the rays of light hit any form of water, mostly the ocean, it reflects up to the ozone layer to create the color. When it sets, the colors change due to lack of reflection. The colors of the sunset are, in a way, shadows that are reflected off from the shadows formed in the water, such as mountains or trees, and the rays of light." I explained to her, causing her to scratch her head.
"Yeah?~" She questioned me in a droned out tone.
"So, when looking at the ocean, think of it as looking at the sky." I told her, point to the ocean once more. She looked and examined it.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." She tells me, causing me to smile.
"The top of the clouds, when you saw them what did you think?" I asked her, curious of her answer.
"Well, below me it was a mix of pillows and snow." She told me, still sounding confused.
"So, if we ever had to jump out of a plane, think of it as falling through snow and looking at the sky." I tell her, flipping the jet right side up once more. She seemed confused, then had a light bulb moment.
"Oh,~ you're trying to use psychology on me to help me face my fear." She tells me, causing me to lightly chuckle.
"Yes and no. I'm mostly doing that so you can use it as a coping mechanism. You're fear won't naturally go away, heck it might never go away, but at least with this you'll understand how to both cope and adapt to it." I explained to her, putting the jet on autopilot so I could unbuckle my belt, turn a little above and over so I was now looking at her from over my seat.
"Do you understand?" I questioned her, a kind tone from my voice.
"Yes, yes I get it now. I never thought of it like that, but I feel like it's helping." She said to me.
"Care to look out and down, now?" I asked her, being gentle and not pressuring her one bit.
She shivered a bit, then looked over slowly, her eyes closed at first until she opened one, then the other. She was now admiring the sight below.
"It looks… Beautiful." She gasped out gently as she, possibly for once in her life, admired the view from above versus from ground lever or from pictures/videos. This caused me to smile even more at her reaction.
"Did that help?" I asked her softly.
"Very. Thank you, I swear I don't deserve you, Boss." She tells me, a soft smile on her face as she kept looking at the view. I reached over, gently taking her chin to look at me.
"Hush, you deserve it. I didn't even think it would work, but it was worth a try. I want you to work on your confidence, to tell yourself you deserve this job. After all, it's true that you do." I tell her, a caring smile on my face. I was thankful I had started reading on psychology recently, this way I can grow my intelligence more and more.
"You're amazing, simply amazing." She said, smiling with pride at my words. I nod to her before slipping back into my seat.
"Alright, now I want you to do something." I tell her, reaching into my cube to get blueprints.
"Anything." She said in a content tone. I then handed her the blueprints.
"I want you to study this, to know the ins and outs of where everything is in order for you to be successful in stealing." I told her, going back to my usual tone. I felt her take the blueprints from my hand.
"On it, Boss." she said happily as I heard the blueprints being unrolled.
^I kinda wish she'd stop calling me 'Boss'.^ I thought, though the smile on my face never faded.
^I wonder if this is how Shego felt with me.^ I wondered in my head. Soon the sun had set and we neared our location.
"Are you ready?" I questioned her, almost certain she was.
"Yes, I'm ready." She told me, sounding confident in herself.
"Good, I'll land the jet near by. We'll go on foot and proceed from there." I tell her as she handed me the blueprints.
"Then what?" She asked me as I took the blueprints, returning them to my cube.
"Then you proceed to steal the gems. I will observe your plans, but nothing more." I tell her. I knew she was shocked, but I needed to know how good she was first hand. Yes, I had seen her past videos, but she had hours beforehand, but now she had minutes. I landed the jet causing us to start walking.
"But, isn't it too soon?" She whispered to me, cautious of her surroundings.
"No, I don't. When it comes to stealing, you're more of a natural than most. Fighting needs work, but you're talented with sneak attacks. Yes, your book knowledge still needs work, but all that will come with time. In short, you're ready for stealing." I told her, smiling as we were now at the side of the building. She seemed miffed, but took a deep breath before nodding.
"Good, lead the way." I told her, gesturing to the building.
She took the lead, being a natural ninja as I followed her. Once on the roof, she easily walked to where the gems were displayed. Using the tools she had, she prepped her journey as I watched her. She went in, took a picture of the room, placed it on the cameras, went past the alarms, cut open the case, took both gems and came back out. She took 2.03 minutes doing this.
"Very good, though I'm surprised you didn't just use my devise to deactivate everything." I told her, causing her proud smile to fault a little.
"I can't always rely on it, if it ever breaks." She countered, causing me to smile.
"Perfect answer." I praised her, causing to smile once more.
"Now, put them back." I ordered her.
"What, why?" She asked in shock, not understanding why.
"Trust me, as valuable as they are, this lesson was much more valuable." I told her, causing her to sigh.
"Alright, I'll put them back." She told me, looking between the two.
"Don't tell me you forgot which one went where." I said to her, causing her to blush.
"Hehe, maybe." She said awkwardly, causing me to sigh. I went over, examined each in her hand before pointing to the one in her right.
"That one's the bigger one. You can usually tell between size, though this is a bit harder. Weight usually factors in as well, again tough to do. Easiest way is to see the natural vs unnatural cuts in it. Each weight had different groves of sorts, patterns if you will." I tell her, showing her what I meant.
"Oh, I didn't know that." She told me, quiet as a mouse.
"Yes, so now go put them back and grab the photos. Make it seem as if we were never here." I ordered.
She complied, succeeding in the mission. We got down from the building when we heard an alarm. After looking a bit, I saw Duff Killigan escaping with something in his arms, though I couldn't see what.
"We need to go, now." I say, grabbing her hand before guiding her away from the museum but away from the jet as well.
"Why didn't we go back to the jet?" Adrena questioned me as I looked around.
"Duff Killigan was heading near the jet, which would've meant getting caught in the crossfire. No, it's easier to avoid and take the long way back." I tell her, guiding her down a few streets.
"But that'll risk us getting caught as well, right?" She questioned me.
"No, not really." I told her, not looking at her as I watched my surroundings.
"I'm not understanding." She says to me, causing me to sigh.
"First, you should have eyes and ears turned on. Keep looking and listening about in a subtle way, so not to rouse suspicion nor get caught off guard." I warned her, causing her to look around a bit.
"Second, sometimes the fastest route is through the long way." I tell her, knowing she'd be confused.
"Is this some sort of 'slow and steady' proverb?" She asked me quietly, causing me to softly laugh.
"In a way, yes. It can mean, if the short way looks short or is dangerous, then it'll take more time due to danger. However, if a path is long but holds least resistance, then you will reach your goal faster." I tell her before we appeared at our jet. She gasped from this, but smiled.
"You're so smart." She complimented me as I smiled.
"You've done well on this run, your grade is 98/100. Not bad, for a first run." I tell her as I unlocked the jet.
She pumped her fist in the air, silently cheering before entering the jet with me. It didn't take long for law enforcements to show up, but we got away quickly and quietly.
"What did you learn?" I asked her, not bothering to look at her.
"Well, I learned value in money shouldn't mean as much as value in the history, how each gem can look slightly different when natural and to always have an escape plan in emergencies such as these." She listed off, causing me to smile more.
"Very good, Adrena." I complimented her.
"Though, I think something is weird." She voiced out loud.
"Which is?" I asked her, curious as to what she thought was weird.
"Well, if the sun is very powerful with light, to where when the rays of light hit any form of water, mostly the ocean, it reflects up to the ozone layer to create the color, as well as when it sets, the colors change due to lack of reflection, which is why the colors of the sunset are, in a way, shadows that are reflected off from the shadows formed in the water, such as mountains or trees, and the rays of light. Then why doesn't the water perfectly reflect the stars and mimic more in the sky as a result?" She asked me, looking out at the water as she did so. I immediately put the jet in autopilot before turning to look right at her, a shocked look on my face.
"Did… did you just repeat everything you learned about the sky?" I questioned her, amazed she remembered it word for word.
"Yeah, so?" She asked me, not understanding why I was shocked.
"Adrena, you remembered that, but can't remember any other learning problem or forget it in a couple of hours. How was this time different?" I questioned her, causing her confusion to become one of shock.
"Oh my gosh, you're right. I don't get it, though." She said, trying to think.
"Could it be that, the best way for you to learn is through adventure? Does travel, raised heart rates, anything along those physical lines cause you to learn better and remember?" I asked, more so out loud rather than at her, as my mind was trying to make this connection.
"I guess, I mean I would do work outs when I used to homework years ago." She explained to me.
"And, what were those results?" I asked her.
"Well, I'd nearly ace each one, but I'd flunk my tests." She explained to me.
"Because you weren't moving, you weren't getting a rush of adrenaline through your system. That's it! I know how I can teach you!" I thought out loud, then exclaimed happily as I finally figured it out.
"Wait, so exercising while studying helps me?" She questioned me, causing me to nod yes in excitement.
"It makes sense, since you can adapt and quick think when fighting. When your heart rate increases, from exercise or even anger, it sparks more cells in the brain to activate. In short, your name is the key to learning." I explain to her, causing both of us to finally understand her learning process.
"That explains why, when I was mad I could think better! Freaky!~" She exclaimed in joy. I sat down, happy with this new discovery.
"So, can you answer my question?" She asked me.
"Oh, why the stars don't reflect well in the ocean, nor reflect more in the sky?" I asked her.
"Yes, that." She confirmed to me.
"Well, the moon, though a shadow of the sun, does not illuminate enough light for the reflection, nor do the stars. The stars are too far to illuminate as well, which partially contributes to the water. It's also because the water moves too much to see it. Still water, however, cannot attract the starlight due to their distance." I explained to her, to which she nodded her head.
"Ah, I get it. Thanks for explaining it." She tells me, happy with the answer. I decided to use hyper speed to rush us home, to which Adrena freaked out about the speed. Once we arrived, we both walked to the elevator.
"If the jet could hit that speed, then why didn't you do that before?" She asked me, voice a mix of confusion, frustration and astonishment over it.
"Well, if I had done that, then we wouldn't have discovered your learning ability. Plus, not only we had ours to talk but it also mildly helped with your fear of heights." I explained in a matter-of-fact tone before exiting the elevator to the storage/inventing room.
She lifted her finger and opened her mouth, ready to retort back only for her jaw to drop in a shocked realization. I put everything back where it went, outlined in my mind beautifully before returning to bring us to the living area. Once it opened, I stepped out while Adrena seemed to still be in shock.
"Come along, dinner is ready." I called out to her, bringing her out of her shock. She hurried to the dining table, ready to eat a chicken ceaser salad with dressing, roast beef with a baked potato and broccoli. Simple, yet nice.
"I could get used to this." Adrena said happily before digging in.
"Yes, I've grown accustomed to this. I swear, I don't know what I'd do without them." I say in content before taking a bite of the roast beef. It was delectable.
"We will have a break tomorrow, as a reward for passing tonight." I tell her half way through dinner.
"Really? Isn't it too soon?" She asked me, to which I shook my head no.
"You must rest once in a while, to prevent a mental burnout. Besides, I have plans tomorrow." I tell her, giving valid reasons before eating some broccoli.
"Is it a date?" She questioned me, causing me to choke on my food a bit.
"No, it's not. I don't date, nor do I really plan to." I tell her, sipping my drink to make sure my food stays down after choking on it.
"Really? I mean, you're gorgeous, so how can you not?" She asked me, making me softly blush from my compliment.
"I've never been interested in dating, so I've accepted the fact I will be alone forever." I told her, confessing another part of myself to her.
"Well, to each their own. I mean, I'm not really into wanting kids, I hate kids. Maybe my mind will change soon if I find one to adopt, but doing the whole birthing and raising? Nah, not my thing." She tells me before finishing her food.
"I get that." I tell her before finishing my food. Tomorrow was going to be interesting for me.
Next Day Gogo's POV
It was 9 in the morning when I arrived at my usual park. I walked inside, wearing black pants, black boots, a yellow tank top as my outfit as I went to my usual bench, occupied by a familiar face.
"Sorry if I kept you waiting." I say in a happy voice, pulling out my big bag of peas. I didn't have enough last time, so I brought extra.
"I just got here a minute ago. Glad finally understands this joy." Drakken said as he pulled out some peas as well.
"So, where are they?" He asked me, looking around.
"They'll be here." I tell him, seeing where some were. Soon, Darkwing showed up. First to the feeding, as usual.
"Hey Darkwing, come here." I called to him, causing his tail feathers ti wiggle as he happily waddled over.
"That's him?" Drakken questioned, admiring how cute he was.
"Yeah, he's kind of like the leader. He looks out for the ducks and the area, so he always comes out first." I explained as I fed him some peas from my hand.
"Cute.~" He cooed as more of the ducks came out.
I introduced them to Drakken and vice versa as we fed them. Darkwing jumped on my lap as the ducklings Huey, Dewey, Louie, April, May and June played with Drakken while eating.
"So, who became your sidekick?" Drakken asked me, being curious yet casual about it.
"Adrena Lynn." I told him, scratching Darkwing's head gently. He seemed happy, closing his eyes with a smile.
"Really? I wouldn't think so. I had money on The Knights." Drakken commented, taken aback from my choice.
"Adrena Lynn reminds me a mix of myself and Shego, mostly my younger self. She needs guidance, knowledge, encouragement, the things Shego tried desperately to provide me." I explained as I tossed out more peas.
"Your brothers weren't much help, from what little I gathered from Shego." He tells me, causing me to sigh.
"It was mainly me eldest who kept my others to his side. My second eldest had only a shred of encouragement for me, my younger ones did try at least but not enough as they were easily impressionable. No, what my eldest brother did to me nearly ruined me. If Adrena would've stayed alone, or ended up with someone like my brother, that would've eventually killed her on the inside. She needed a chance, so she got one. Besides, a blank canvas to paint on it better than one that is nearly completed, not to mention more fun." I tell him, feeding Darkwing with my free hand.
"Mmm, fair enough I suppose. I mean, I wasn't like that when I chose Shego." He told me, tossing some peas to the babies.
"Let me guess, you hired her for looks at first?" I asked him with an eye roll.
"No, actually I wasn't going to hire her." Drakken confessed, tossing some peas to the other ducks as I did the same.
"Really? Was it because she was a woman?" I asked him, looking right at him in shock.
"Well, that and the fact I didn't think she was worth the pay at first." He confessed, seeming to think back on that day.
"What changed?" I asked him, curious over everything.
"Well, she was on her own for a month before the interview, stealing and making a name for herself. Honestly, I think she was going to be a self-made villain like you. Well, she saw the help wanted add I had out and decided to show up. I mocked her, turned her away and wanted to hire this big lug of a man. Well, Shego didn't like that. When she went to hit me with her foul temper, the guy stopped her, but then she had a green glow and, well, we don't really talk about it." He explained, a visible shiver ran through him at the memory. I only smiled, knowing full well what she most likely did.
"And then?" I asked him.
"Well, I was so~ impressed when she took him down, I had to hire her as my sidekick. I gave into all her demands, making myself broke in doing so mind you, but it was worth having her around. Yeah, she hurts and disrespects me a lot, but she's a good sidekick. Heck, I think she'd make a better villain and have me be the sidekick. I just never understood why she chose to work for me. Don't ever tell Shego about this." He explained, still baffled she chose to work for him.
"Well, I think she likes you. I mean, to me it makes sense but I think she's like me in the sense of 'we're so used to being with family, being alone for a long time is scary' sort of thing." I explain to him, causing Drakken to think on it a bit.
"I mean, I guess." He said before shrugging. There was a couple minutes of silence before Drakken sighed.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked me, causing me to smirk.
"You just did." I joked. He gave me a sarcastic laugh as I just smiled at him.
"I mean it, I have something to ask." He said to me.
"Sure, ask away." I tell him, tossing more peas to my feathered friends.
"Do you like my cousin?" He asked me, causing me to stop and think.
"He's annoying and reminds me too much of my eldest brother. Surprisingly, the ego doesn't bother me as much as it should. Why do you ask?" I asked him, not sure what he was getting at.
"Would you really be his girlfriend?" He asked me, causing me to blush.
"I, well, I… I don't know. I mean, I told him one date, but boyfriend? Him? I don't really think so. I mean, if he changed his sexist ways, then potential. In reality, I just like racing against him and hurting him." I confess, not sure on how to feel about it all.
"You really don't date, do you?" He asked me, a perplexed look on his face.
"No, I wasn't really popular in my youth. I was considered an 'ugly duckling' until I was about 17, though the city new me and didn't even acknowledge me. Now that I'm out and about, I have gotten attention I'm not really used to." I told him, tucking some of my hair behind my ear while petting Darkwing.
"I never could've imagined." He told me, looking out at the pond.
"I bet it was the same for you, too. I mean, Shego told me about the Bebe's, so it makes sense." I told him, looking out at the water as well.
"Well, it was before I turned bad. Trying to get a date wasn't easy for me." He confessed to me, causing me to giggle.
"What's so funny?" Drakken asked me, sounding defensive.
"You and I were in the same boat. Boys my age didn't like me, girls would torment me worse than the boys bullying or ignoring me. Honestly, I think you of all people would get that." I say to him, giggling a bit more. He looked like he wanted to be grumpy, but then he smiled before chuckling.
"I have to agree, we understand each other." He admitted, seemingly happy to finally talk to someone about this.
We chatted for 2 hours, enjoying the park, the ducks and our friendship. Heck, he even told me how he turned blue on a Tuesday! Now it was getting close to noon, our stomachs growled at the same time.
"Wanna get lunch?" I asked him, smiling sweetly as Darkwing pecked at my friendship bracelet. Yes, I was wearing it. Drakken scratched the back of his head, looking a bit uncomfortable.
"I dunno." He muttered out.
"My treat." I told him, figuring it might be a money issue.
"Well, if you're sure." He said, then our stomach growled. I started laughing.
"Trust me, both our stomachs agree." I joked before ushering Darkwing off of me.
"Bye bye, duckies." I say to them, having them back up and make a path for us. We stood up, walking down the path they made for us.
"Bye, duckies." Drakken said, waving goodbye before we left the park.
There was a food truck near by, so we went to that for lunch. Gyros, which wasn't common around here. I paid, we found a bench and ate while chatting some more. After another couple of hour we parted ways, agreeing to do this again soon. As soon as I got in my car, my phone rang.
"Go for Gogo." I answered.
"Ah, hello, this is Professor Dementor." I heard on the other end. My jaw dropped a little bit from shock. Dementor has never once contacted me.
"How'd you get my number?" I questioned him, wondering how he got it.
"Oh, I have my ways. But I called to ask for a request." He commented, sending a shiver down my back.
"What's the request?" I questioned him, curious as to what he wanted.
7 P.M. Gogo's POV
I peaked around the corner of the lab, making sure all was clear.
"Maybe we should split up, to get the parts faster." Adrena Lynn offered, making a valid point.
"I told you to wait in the jet." I scolded her in a whisper.
"No way, I can help." She whispered back, causing my eyes to roll.
She didn't listen to me, she insisted on helping me and such. Honestly, she was more like me than I imagined.
"Did you study the layout?" I whispered, looking right back at her.
"Yes, I did that on the way here." She explained to me in a quiet voice.
"Fine, just be careful." I warned her, tossing her an ear bud. She caught it as I put one in my ear.
"Use it if anything happens or will happen." I tell her, watching her put the device in her ear.
"Got it, Boss." She said before quietly running off, me shaking my head back and forth.
"She's just like me as a teen." I say quietly to myself before going over to one of the two items needed.
They were small, seemingly insignificant, but things aren't always what they seem. I avoided the alarm beams, used mirrors to move the lasers protecting the item, then reached in and took it. This pleased me before the alarm started blaring. I groaned, then heard the bud in my ear.
"I got trouble down here." I heard Adrena, causing me to hurry her way.
^What trouble did she get into, now.^ I thought as I rounded the corner and right into the room.
Adrena Lynn's POV
I had been on the couch, reading the latest issue of Wilderness Adventures when Gogo came back. I noticed she hurried to her room, to which I shrugged.
^Maybe her meeting was bad.^ I thought as I continued reading. I heard the door again, so I peaked up and saw her in her uniform. When she started heading out, I called out to her.
"Where ya going, Boss?" I asked her, curiosity getting the best of me.
"I have a job to do." She told me, adjusting her gloves as she reached the elevator. I quickly jumped up, stumbling until I made it to her.
"Can I come?" I asked her, eager to go.
"No, it's your day off and a bit soon for you." She told me, but I didn't listen to her. I put on my boots anyways, then hurriedly hopped in the elevator before it closed until I fixed my left boot.
"Aw, come on Boss." I said to her, I wasn't going to pass this up.
"Not this time, I'm doing a job and they requested only me." She told me, but I wasn't giving up.
"Please.~" I pleaded, wanting to go with her.
"I said no." She told me, heading right to her single person jet. I didn't want to miss this, so I decided to play my final card.
"Think of it as a learning experience. Besides, you can properly introduce me. I mean, unless you want to stifle my will to learn and feel embarrassed to have me as a sidekick." I told her, causing her to stop in her tracks. She sighed heavily, then turned to me.
"I'm not happy you did that, but fine. Come along, but don't do that anymore." She told me in a scolding tone, then had me follow her to the 2 person jet.
I fist pumped in joy, then followed her quickly to the jet. On the way there, I looked over her shoulder at the blueprints, seeing the spots she circled and did my best to remember.
^Good thing my heart rate's up, otherwise remembering this would be tough.^ I thought happily, thinking of ways I could help her.
Once we got there, she ordered me to stay in the jet.
Pfft, as if!
I quietly followed her, then was next to her as she peaked around the corner.
"Maybe we should split up, to get the parts faster." I offered, making a valid point.
"I told you to wait in the jet." Gogo scolded me in a whisper.
"No way, I can help." I whispered back, wanting to help.
"Did you study the layout?" She whispered, looking right me with with a stern look.
"Yes, I did that on the way here." I explained to her in a quiet voice.
"Fine, just be careful." She warned me, tossing me an ear bud. I caught it as she put one in her ear.
"Use it if anything happens or will happen." She told me, watching me put the device in my ear.
"Got it, Boss." I said before quietly running off, eager to prove helpful on the field.
I snuck into the room, seeing the object Gogo wanted to get. I avoided the lasers, found some not mirror mirrors to move the laser guard as well. As soon as I grabbed though, the lights suddenly came on.
"Well, look who we have here." I heard, looking over to see a boy, not even that cute, looking right at me.
"Um, who are you?" I questioned him, confused on why this dude was here.
"Doesn't matter, you're going to get punished." He tells me, getting into a fighting stance.
^Oh dang, that's not good!^ I thought in a panic.
There was no escape, he was blocking the only exit. I did the one thing I could think of, set off the alarm. I did so, causing alarms to go off everywhere as I touched my bud.
"I got trouble down here." I said before dodging a punch.
I was avoiding a few hits, but then was kicked in the stomach and sent flying into a wall. As I slumped down I saw him walking up to me.
"You're in for it, now." He tells me, causing panic to run through me.
"Leave her alone, it's me you want Will Du!" I heard Gogo yell out, causing 'Will Du' to look right at her.
"Well well, another game of yours?" He questioned her in a mocking tone.
"It's all business, so leave her alone." She warned him, showing slight anger in her eyes. I didn't understand why, well not until I looked at his hands. He was wearing iron knuckles!
"Now why should I do that, when I can get two birds in one cage?" Will taunted, slowly walking towards me as his eyes never left Gogo's.
"You're being a coward, going after someone with iron knuckles that's defenseless." She taunted him, causing him to stop.
"Why defend this weak, insignificant villain?" Will asked her, using a mildly taunting tone to her.
Gogo didn't say anything, almost as if she was thinking. Was she thinking of an escape? Was she going to abandon me?! Fear bubbled in my throat as Will pushed a button. The knuckles soon started sparking, causing my eyes to widen.
"If you won't answer, then I'll just get rid of the trash." He said to her, then ran at me to punch me. Before he could, Gogo suddenly jumped on his back.
"Adrena, Run!" She ordered me, doing her best to hold him back.
I managed to get up, then rushed to the door. I stopped when I heard a groaning yelp of pain. I looked over to see Gogo was now holding her side, slightly bleeding as Will charged up the iron knuckles once more.
"You've been a thorn in my side for too long. Now, it's my turn to be the thorn." He said to her, aiming to punch her in the head.
I couldn't let him, I wouldn't!
I ran over to him, the jump kicked his head, causing him to be flung back into the display stand. He groaned, then went limp on the floor. I had knocked him out. I went over to Gogo, quickly grabbing her to help her up.
"We need to go, now." I tell her, then perked up when I heard the sirens.
I got her out of the room, then helped her to an office so we could climb out the window. I helped her get into a small forest area before helping her sit.
"Damn, I'm sorry Boss." I tell her, feeling like it's my fault she got hurt.
^Maybe I'm too much trouble, maybe I should've listened.^ I thought I a panic, ripping off the sleeves of my shirt and legs of my pants to bandage her up the best I could.
"It's not your fault, it's mine." She muttered out, reaching for her keys. She hit a button before handing them to me.
"I might pass out soon, but get in the jet as soon as it gets here. GJ will follow it quickly, so leave me if you must." She groaned out, looking like she will actually faint. Wait, Global Justice?
"I'm not leaving you, Boss. We came together, we leave together." I tell her, helping her up to her feet.
"Adrena-" She started to say, but then passed out.
I barely kept her up before the jet arrived. I dragged her in the back before seeing a light on us.
"It's Gogo! She has Gogo! Stop them!" I heard, causing my eyes to grow wide.
I hopped in the jet and took off, not bothering to close the lid right away. Once in the air, I closed the lid and put the legs away, then went into autopilot. I had no idea what I was doing, so I grabbed the handbook she kept to look for super speed and such.
As I skimmed, I heard jets around us. I pushed a button, so auto dodge was put on and continued reading. Once I found it and read it thoroughly, I took it off auto, hit some buttons and went into light speed. I knew I had them off out backs, so I went to the base.
^Forget about the mission, she needs help.^ I thought as I landed us in the base. I got out and hurried to the emergency intercom.
"Fin, Sid, help! Boss' hurt bad and passed out!" I yelled through the intercom before going back to the jet.
As soon as I managed to get her out, the men rushed over to her. Fin held her like a bride while I explained what went on. I followed them to the 'home' area, then saw them prepping the open area as a medical spot. Sid explained they did this without her knowing it yet as Fin, with pink cheeks, removed the top part of her suit.
I gasped in horror when I saw what he did to her. 4 puncture marks, blood dripping through and heavy char marks around each home from the shock. They moved quick and fixed her up with stitches before carrying her to her room. I followed, wanting to keep an eye on them, as Fin put her in a night gown, then slipped the catsuit off before tucking her in bed. I had never seen Gogo's room, so I took a quick peak.
I saw the color theme, the wolfhounds with 18 puppies sleeping. I then saw another one, a 19th one walk over and whimper, wanting on the bed. Fin put the pup on the bed, who immediately went to her and fell asleep next to her. It was adorable. I saw her furniture, where her closet and bathroom were located, then was ushered out.
"Sorry, but I wanted to be sure you didn't-" I started to explain to them since they stared at me, but then I winced as I held my stomach area.
"Let us see what the damage is." Sid said, gently lifting my shirt a little bit. We all saw the black bruise forming, causing me to wince from seeing it.
"It's fine, I just need rest. She was doing a job, everythings in the jet." I tell them before turning around. I hurried to my room, locked myself in there and sunk to the floor, trying so hard not to cry.
^What did I do? Why didn't I listen? She got hurt protecting me, because I'm weak. I should go, she deserves better. But, but I can't leave. I can't leave her like this, not until I know she's okay.^ I thought, getting up and going right to the bed. I flopped on it, sorrow was plaguing my mind before I eventually blacked out.
Gogo's POV
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling intense pain as I saw the ceiling of my room.
"What happened." I muttered quietly as I tried to sit up, only to wince and lay back down. My left side was hurting a lot, but I didn't know why. I went to feel, then went wide eyed that I was in a gown.
^Wait, wasn't I wearing my suit? How am I in this?^ I thought, then put a bit of pressure where it hurt.
I groaned in pain, then felt something move. I looked, ready to attack when I saw it was the little albino pup. I sighed, relaxing a bit as he looked at me.
"I told you not to come up here." I softly scold her, groaning after.
He then let out a loud, yet adorable howl for attention. This made Emperor go to the door, scratching it and barking for attention. Sid quickly entered, rushing to me in a panic.
"Miss, are you alright?" He questioned me, turning on the light as he did so.
"What's going on?" I questioned him, feeling my gown was suddenly damp. I looked down and saw some blood, causing my eyes to widen.
"Fin, get the kit!" Sid called out as he lifted me out of bed.
There was a bit of blood on my sheets, pain in my side, something was wrong but I wasn't told what. I was carried to the empty area, gasping when it was set up to be a medical area with Fin holding the first aid kit.
"What's going on!" I yelled out, mostly from pain as well as confusion.
"Don't you remember, Miss?" Sid asked me, setting me down on the gurney before lifting my gown up to my bra line.
"What happened, is she alright?!" I heard Adrena asking in a panic.
I looked to my right, seeing her in black pajama pants and a maroon mini tank top. I saw her bruised stomach, remembering what happened.
"Adrena, are you alright? How am I here?" I asked her, cringing as the boys were patching me up.
"I'm fine, but I carried you to the jet. Sorry, but I wasn't going to abandon you. I read your handbook, then used super speed to get here. The stolen items are on the coffee table, but I don't know what else to do. I'm so, so sorry. I should've stayed in the jet, I should've listened." She explained and then apologized.
"Hey, if you weren't there it could've been worse." I told her, though my words didn't seem to meet much with her.
"No, I doubt that. You're so smart and adaptable, I couldn't even handle him. You got hurt saving me." She said, looking down in sadness.
"Adrena, stop the self pity. Whether you were there or not, I would've got hurt still. Though, getting hurt from protecting you was much better in my opinion." I winced out from the pain, hoping she understood. She looked up at me, confusion on her face.
"Why?" She asked me.
"Because, being attacked by him just for stealing would hurt me more. Being attack for protecting is less painful." I told her, smiling as the boys finished. I was now sitting while the boys were putting fresh sheets on my bed.
"Adrena, whenever I was attacked, my brothers would always blame me for sneaking out and such. They argued with me, even during a battle instead of helping me. When I saw you on the ground, I saw me there. If I left you there, if I didn't help you, I'd be worse than them. You're my sidekick, you're working hard and devoting yourself to me, it's only fair I help and defend you." I told her, further reassuring her that I am always on her side. She teared up, trying hard not to cry and be tough.
"It's ok to cry, you know. Nothing about it makes you weak." I told her, though she only dried her eyes.
"I'll be alright." She told me, then the boys came over with my ringing phone.
"Miss, phone call." Sid told me, handing me the phone. I sighed, knowing exactly who it was.
"Go for Gogo." I answered.
"Ah, you finally answered. And here I got worried that you'd double cross me." I heard Dementor's German accented voice on the other end.
"I don't double cross without reason. I have your items, though due to some unexpected circumstances I am unable to meet you at the designated location. I can, however, use my item transporter to send them to you after you send me the money." I inform him in a professional tone.
"I'm not sure what was more important than informing me immediately, but I will be a gentleman and respect the privacy as well as accept the offer." He told me over the phone, causing a small smile to appear on my face. I made a signal to Sid, who left and came back in 30 seconds with my opened laptop.
"Thank you for understanding, I am ready when you are." I tell him, signaling to Fin.
Fin got the items, then went to the transporter downstairs. I set up a messenger app before sending the money link to Dementor. After the money was transferred, I sent Fin the location to type in.
"Ah, I have received it. Thank you, fräulein." Dementor commented over the phone.
"Not a problem, I hope to do more business with you in the future." I told him, hiding my pain.
"I am not sure of that, but the future is a mystery. Alvita zane." He said before hanging up. I closed my phone with a sigh as Fin came back up.
"Mission was a success and I was paid in full." I said before typing away at my computer.
"Who'd we steal for?" Adrena questioned me.
"Dementor, that's why it was important. He never requests my services, so success was important." I told her, finishing up my project.
"Well, that's good at least." She says, though sounding confused.
"Word of advice; It pays to have as many allays as possible. The way I make my connections is by making sure I do not fail the first three missions requested of me. That solidifies the bond, having them be slightly more understanding if you fail or need to extend the time line given." I tell her before gesturing her over.
She comes over to look at my screen, seeing $50,000 from what Dementor sent me. I then point to an account with her name on it.
"That is your new bank account from here on out." I tell her, followed by transferring $30,000 into her account. She gasped before turning to me.
"Oh no, don't give me that!" She told me, freaking out about it.
"You were gonna get half no matter what, but the extra is for not abandoning me and showing bravery and loyalty." I tell her, then sent the rest to Fin and Sid before closing my computer.
"I wouldn't have been upset if you left me, not even disappointed. You risked getting captured, ripped your clothes to bandage me, made sure I had help instead of obeying my orders to leave me. You've earned more of my trust, don't forget that." I told her, showing her I seriously meant it. She then smiled, showing true happiness at my words.
"Fin, I want you to scan her stomach to make sure there's no minor internal bleeding. Sid, please bring me back to the room." I gave orders, to which the boys obeyed. I was now in my bed, to which I looked right at the little pup.
"I guess I'll have to reward you as well, so you get another night on the bed. But no more after." I told him, though he just lept into my lap, did three circles, then yawned before plopping in that spot.
"Seems he's attached to you, Miss." Sid told me, causing an eye roll from me.
"Not sure why, though. Anyhow, you're dismissed. Thank you, for all you two have done." I tell him as I gently pet the puppy. His little tail wagged, causing me to smile.
"Of course, Miss." He bowed before leaving, shutting my door behind him. I sighed before grabbing my cell, I needed to make a call.
"Gogo? It's late, is something wrong?" I heard Jacks mildly sleepy tone on the other end.
"Jack, I was attacked." I told him, not bothering to sugarcoat it. "
"What happened this time?" He asked me, knowing I get attacked quite often.
"It was Will Du." I told him, my voice was stern.
"The Global Justice kid you humiliated?" He asked me.
"The same one. He attacked Adrena and then used electrical spiked iron knuckled on me. He got my side good, I'll admit. If Adrena hadn't helped me, I would've been caught." I told him, causing him to gasp.
"He did what?!" Jack hollered, something I've never heard him do.
"I need a favor, please." I say to him, gently feeling my sides.
"Anything, name it." Jack said to me, determined to help me.
"I need to know where he got those knuckles from. I doubt he made them, they're not normal GJ weapons. With their design, they must be from the black market. I know you have a couple of sources down there, so anything you can dig up will help." I say to him, feeling fire inside of me.
"Not a problem, but what're you going to do about him?" He asked me, causing me to smirk.
"He wants to play rough and dirty? Let him, I'll humiliate him and make sure he'll never do that again." I tell Jack, my tone was dripping with animus.
"Gogo, please don't be reckless." Jack warned me, always looking out for me and my safety.
"Don't worry Uncle, I'll be just fine." I tell him, grateful he was this kind to me.
"Do you or Adrena need a doctor?" Jack suddenly asked me.
"No, not yet. I believe we're both fine for now. Fin and Sid are knowledgeable in basic and slightly above in first aid knowledge, which is great." I tell him, happy he cared.
"If you feel worse in the morning, I'll have a doctor waiting at any hospital to examine you." He tells me. I lightly chuckled from his kind words.
"I'll be fine. I do want to tell you something." I tell, eager to brag about my sidekick.
"What's that?" He asked me, curiosity laced in his voice.
I then bragged about how Adrena saved me, how she disobeyed my orders to get me to safety and how proud I was of her loyalty and bravery.
"You picked a perfect one, though I had no doubt you wouldn't." He said to me, sounding both happy and relieved with how Adrena was doing with me.
"Choosing Adrena Lynn as my assistant is tied for first as the best choice in my life." I tell him, smiling happily as I turned my light off.
"Was the other one leaving home?" He asked me, knowing full well it was.
"Yeah, exactly." I tell him, smiling more and more. For once, my life was going amazingly.
"Alright, you get some sleep. I'll get some men on this ASAP." He tells me, assuring me all will be handled.
"I will, thank you Uncle. You get some sleep as well and I'm sorry to bother you. Goodnight." I say to him.
"Don't be sorry. Goodnight." He said before I heard the click. I closed my phone, put it on my nightstand and then slipped further into bed before falling asleep.
3 Days Later Gogo's POV
I was supposed to be on bed rest, but I'm too stir crazy to do so. I decided to work on the instruments I took from the challenge.
Why?
Well, why not.
It'd be a waste not to. Besides, it'd be a good idea to have anyhow. Okay, I can't play instruments. I can read notes, make sheets of music and on and off sing, but I just can't seem to play instruments too well. I let Adrena work on her drum set as I looked over the other three. The piano and violin were near perfect, the guitar needed a good amount of work, so I was working on that one now.
"What made you think of this?" She asked me, looking over what else needed to be done.
"Besides me unable to play instruments? I could make a profit off of this by selling them to wealthy people if I wanted to, but it's more because it's a fun challenge that's yet to be done." I tell her, lightly wincing at my side.
Sid forced me to see a doctor, though I'm glad I did. I needed stitches as well as the burns trimmed off before stitches. Adrena was fine, thank goodness.
"I've been curious about something." She said to me.
"Ask away." I tell her, always happy when she asks me questions. Questions = answers which means learning.
"How come your injuries aren't usually bad?" She asked me, causing me to look up.
"Is it because of your bruise?" I asked her.
"Yeah, like, I've seen you get injured, yet you rarely end up bruised. Why is that?" She questioned, being curious.
"Well, it's actually due to my powers." I confess, going back to my work.
"Wait, what? What do ya mean?" She asked me, causing me to sigh.
"I wasn't born with my powers, neither was Shego nor my brothers. We were given the powers by accident. Due to this, we're all much more durable than the average person. Though, I've never had injuries bad enough to need stitches. A couple of paper cuts, yes and they healed quickly. It's also why I don't often get sick. Once a year is my average, three days max with it." I tell her, finally getting out the melted wire from inside the guitar. I looked up to see Adrena was in shock.
"Wait, so you've got minor invincibility?" She questioned me.
"Well, that's one way to say more durable." I tell her, having an idea in mind.
"That's freaky.~" She told me, twirling the screwdriver in her hand but then dropped it. I chuckled as she muttered to herself.
"Adrena, I know I said your outfit is fine and all, but would you be alright if I made you a better version?" I asked her, my mind running so many miles per hour over how to modify her clothing and such.
"I don't mind." She said, hands inside the drums and not looking my way.
I smiled as I hurriedly finished what I was doing. Since Sid was still out getting groceries, I called him to pick up what I needed before going to another section of my work area. I began making a type of wiring system for a body suit. This was going to take me a long while, but it'll be worth it. As I continued what I could, my phone rang.
"Go for Gogo." I answered.
"Hey Gogo, I got a lead on who sold those to Will Du." Jack told me, causing me to stop working all together.
"Oh?" I questioned, feeling my heart pound in rage.
"Big Daddy Brotherson provided it for him, though he won't tell me where he got them from." He tells me, causing me to sigh.
"Can you set up a meeting, then?" I questioned him, wanting answers.
"Are you sure? I mean, you need to rest and-" Jack started, but I cut him off.
"Jack, this is important. Will Du has finally snapped!" I say over the phone, then took a deep breath to calm down.
"Sorry, but I need to know what's going on." I say in a calm tone.
"Alright, I can do that. Just don't overdo yourself, promise?" Jack asked me, a bit overprotective.
"I promise." I say before hanging up. After another calm breath I got back to work.
^No rest for the weary.^ I thought as I powered through my newest invention.
After 10 minutes I got a text from Jack on when and where to meet. I smiled, text back thank you and then saw Fin arrive with my stuff.
"Watch her, I'm going on an important run." I order Fin as I started walking, then felt a hand on my left arm. I looked to see a worried Fin.
"You should be resting, Miss." Fin told me,
"I am meeting Big Daddy Brotherson, I cannot miss that." I told him, my tone telling him to let me go.
"You shouldn't go alone, Miss." He told me but I pulled my arm away.
"This will be easier, less risks. Please, just watch her and make sure nothing burns down." I told him, then took a bud out of my pocket to put in my ear.
"I will contact you or any of the other men if I need assistance." I tell him, to which he nodded in approval about.
I left quickly in my jet that turns into a bike, plugged in the address and was off faster than lightning. I made it to Arabia, landing the jet and used the bike to arrive where I was meant to meet him. Once I made sure my bike was secure, I went right inside to where he was. A guard stopped me, but I gave the password and who I was before being shown where I could sit. I sat down, bowed half way to the floor before rising up.
"I apologize for not bowing further, my side still has stitches and it's hard for me to move still." I apologized in a polite tone. Big Daddy then put his hand out, to which I kissed his ring like instructed.
"You are Gogo?" He asked me, to which I nod to confirm.
"Then you are like me, you like and enjoy games." Big Daddy said, a small smile on his face.
"Correct. I will play your game, but I will not apologize for making you lose." I tell him, matching his smile.
He then clapped his hands three times, to which a guard appeared with a small table and 3 cards face up. An Ace of Spades, a 9 of Clubs and a Queen of Hearts.
"Find the queen, you will win and I will answer all of your questions." Big Daddy tells me.
"And if I lose?" I ask him, to which he smiles.
"Then you must give me something in return." He tells me, though not specific on what.
"Very well, I accept." I tell him with a nod. I watched as he began shuffling. It was slow at first, then it got faster and faster. Soon he stopped, pulling back to allow me to pick.
"Choose any card, Gogo." He tells me, a Cheshire grin on his face. I examined each card with my eyes, never moving from my spot before looking at him.
"The Queen of Hearts in is your right sleeve." I tell him, causing his face to drop.
"You dare assume I cheat?" He questioned me.
"Yes, a common con from the 1950's. You moved the cards quickly, which would cause any normal person to miss your switch with the sleeves. Except I'm not normal, and you should use your left hand so that your watch doesn't scratch the card." I tell him, pointing at his watch then at the card were the Queen of Hearts would've been. He looked at the card closely, noticing the scratch, then sighed before pulling the card out from his sleeve. The Queen of Hearts.
"You are good, I expected nothing less." Big Daddy complimented in defeat.
"I need to know who made the Iron Knuckles you sold to Will Du." I told him, wanting answers now.
"I did not sell them to Will Du." He told me, causing me to raise an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Was it a young boy, a bit younger than me that you sold them to?" I asked him, to which he shook his head no.
"No, I had sold them to Gemini." He told me, causing my face to drop.
"Gemini? Wait, he didn't attack me, though. Did he have anyone with him?" I asked once more, more confused than ever.
"No, but I can tell you the knuckles were just normal knuckles made from iron when I sold them, nothing special to them." Big Daddy told me, causing my mind to buzz even more.
"Then that means he bought them, customized them and either gave or sold them to Will Du. But why." I said softly to myself, thinking out loud as to why Will Du would ever go to Gemini. I mean, he was starting to get desperate in capturing me, but I doubt he'd be that desperate.
"Thank you, Big Daddy. This information was most helpful." I say with a partial bow once more.
"Before you go, I wish to ask for one thing from you. I am willing to trade for it." Big Daddy says to me, a hand up to show me he doesn't want me to go.
"And that is?" I ask him, head slightly tilted to the right. Big Daddy then pulled out a book with a pen.
"Could I have your autograph?" He asked me, acting slightly like a fan. I lightly blushed from this, never once being asked for an autograph.
"Really?" I asked him, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Oh yes, you are the world's greatest villain. You've never once been caught, and even if you were you'd still be world renown. I am also, how you say, a personal fan of your game ideas." He tells me, smiling a bit shyly over this. I blinked a bit but then smiled, taking the book and pen. "Just promise me it'll never be used for forgery." I tell him, autographing a page in the small book.
𝓖𝓸𝓰𝓸.
"Of course, I am a man of my word." He replied before I handed him back the book. This pleased him, then he signaled I can depart. I did so, then went to my bike before sighing.
"Why would Will Du turn to Gemini, of all people?" I questioned out loud, grabbing my helmet in confusion.
"I didn't." I heard the familiar Will Du. I looked right at him, ready to fight him before seeing his hand was raised.
"Gogo, I'm afraid I'm being framed." Will tells me, though I didn't lower my guard.
"Then why are you here?" I asked him, my tone showing how aggressive I could be.
"I am here to get answers, just like you." He tells me, causing me to sigh.
"Proven point, but then tell me, why did the person who attacked me look identical to you?" I asked him, his turn to sigh.
"I believe it might be a clone of sorts. I was at the crime scene and found a type of green goo there, indicating a synthetic clone." He tells me, pulling a small canister out of his small fanny pack he had. I put my helmet down before walking to him.
"May I?" I asked, holding out my hand for the vial. He seemed hesitant, but complied. I took out my right black earring stud before opening the vial to scan the contents.
"Earrings that can scan anything and calculate for you?" He questioned me, both curious and impressed.
"Yes, a simple invention of mine. Comes in handy when stealing jewels." I told him before closing the vial, handing it back to him before touching my bud.
"Sid, I just scanned something with my earring. Can you look and tell me what the components are?" I asked Sid, knowing he'd be faster to look. After a minute, he finally replied.
"Miss, it seems to be synthetic cloning material, though it's slightly different." He tells me.
"Different, how?" I questioned him, being curious now.
"It's modified to make the clone much more aggressive and intelligent." He tells me, causing a slight groan from me.
"So it's stronger and smarter?" I asked him.
"Correct." Sid replied.
"Can you look up the location of each compound and determine where it could've been made?" I asked him. I heard typing before his reply.
"Each component is from European origins, though they seemed to be enhanced by a rare man-made chemical. It's so rare, it's a 1/1,000,000,000 chance it can be made correctly." Sid tells me, causing my brows to furrow.
"That rare? Very well, thank you." I say before tapping the bud to end call.
"Seems your alibi is a bit solid, though I do not trust you." I tell him, crossing my arms at the annoying boy in front of me.
"I am glad to know you found something I didn't. I cannot return to GJ until I clear my name." He tells me, putting the substance away at this point.
"Why's that?" I question him, my annoyance growing.
"Because the clone me has been stealing and harming people." Will told me, causing my demeanor to shift slightly.
"That isn't like you. Huh, and here I thought my games finally made you snap." I tell him, a smirk on my face formed when he showed his annoyance.
"Do not get me wrong, you are quite annoying and frustrating, but I would never use a weapon such as that." He tells me, defending his pride and morals.
"Well then, I suppose I should go so you should stay out of my way." I tell him as I headed back to my bike.
"Excuse me?" He asked me as I grabbed my helmet.
"You're excused." I tell him in a smug tone.
"No, I mean what do you mean stay out of your way?" He questioned me, so I turned and looked right at him.
"I've got a bone to pick with Gemini. He messed with the wrong girl, so I'm going to remind him of that." I say before placing my helmet on me.
"Oh no you don't, I'm going to stop him." He scolds me before a spotlight appeared on us.
"Stop, you two are under arrest under by orders of Global Justice." We heard from the chopper above us.
"Tch." I said softly before starting my bike.
I saw a net, so I rode to Will, grabbed him, pulled him over my lap on my bike as I never once stopped.
"What are you doing?!" Will demanded in a huff.
"Saving you from incarceration, unless you want that." I told him, making a sharp turn.
"Can you let me adjust myself?!" He yelled out, yelping when I took another sharp turn.
"Trust me, not a good idea right now." I say, weaving between buildings. I had no way to my jet, not to mention I'd have no way to put Will in it with me unless he was sitting on my lap.
"Why not!" He yelled out at me, loosing his temper.
"Because we'll get caught!" I yelled at him, avoiding a couple of nets. I had no choice right now. I hit a button on my bike, then headed outside of the city.
"Are you insane?! We'll be captured!" Will yelled out, causing my eyes to roll.
"Will, this is me. I never get caught." I told him, now being exposed.
I used my arm to swoop under his chest, to which he put his feet on my bike and was now sitting on it, though he was sitting like a lady on a horse at this point. As soon as GJ choppers got close, my jet swooped down and scooped us up, then went into the air once more. I hit a couple buttons before we took off in lightning speed.
"You should be thanking me for saving you." I tell him, trying to adjust myself. I was now sitting in a chair as he sat on my lap, both of us uncomfortable.
"And why, pray tell, should I do that?" He asked me, stubborn as always.
"For saving you from going to GJ prison, where other villains are. You know, the ones you help capture and put away? The ones that have a personal grudge against you?" I point out to him, causing him to sulk more and more over each question being right.
"Why bother saving me, then? We're enemies." He tells me, causing me to chuckle as I removed my helmet, placing it in the claws above me, causing it to be pulled in a secret slot behind me.
"True, but I'm a villain with morals. I don't like my toys being wrongly accused of anything. Therefore, as of right now, I propose a truce until Gemini is stopped." I tell him, sticking out my right hand in front of his crossed arms.
"Do you think I would do so just because you saved me from prison?" He asked me, causing me to roll my eyes.
"Not really, but we're after the same thing. It's much more logical to work together instead of against each other. Once we take Gemini down, we can go back to being enemies." I tell him, using logic against him. He stiffened before sighing, shaking my hand in his.
"Fine. Truce, for now." He tells me, begrudgingly. I set up a location device before putting the jet into cruise mode.
"What are you doing?" He questioned me.
"Using a locating device to locate where Gemini is located." I tell him in a factual tone.
"How? He's hiding." He pointed out, causing my eyes to roll once more.
"I made a special scanner to locate different villains and their hide outs in case I ever had to locate them. I only need to enter a certain thing for it. For example, Duff's exploding gold balls or, in this case, Gemini's robotic hand. Each thing sends off a different type of 'coded wave link' to locate them. I can't go too fast though, otherwise it won't pick up the scan properly." I explained to him, causing him to examine the machine.
"Impressive, yet you chose to be a villain. Why?" Will asked me, still examining my work.
"It's much more fun and challenging, catching villains isn't. Besides, I could say you're a villain from my view." I tell him, causing him to shoot me a dirty look.
"Someone who is praised as a good person to some, is a monster to others. Those who are judged by others as freaks, perhaps they're the kindest to those who need it. See, the world isn't black and white like you see it, but in fact are multiple shades of gray." I tell him, causing him to move back a bit. I groaned and winced, causing him to look at me.
"Can you shift a bit to my right?" I groaned out, causing him to do so.
"You are hurt?" He questioned me, causing both a sigh of relief and annoyance from me.
"I was jabbed by that weapon, needed 12 stitches in total on my left side and you were putting a bit of pressure against it." I told him, feeling my side gently to make sure no stitches had popped.
^The boys would be pissed if they did.^ I thought, content that they were still in place.
"You have stitches, yet you chose to do all this? Why?" He questioned me.
"I thought you went bonkers, but knowing Gemini is involved and you are innocent changes things. The chemicals Gemini has need to be destroyed, as well as your evil clone and any other clones he made. He must've had a bit of your DNA from something to make it, which means he could have others." I explain to him, leaning back a bit to relax.
"You don't want it?" He questioned me.
"No. I don't mess with cloning, not my forte. I mean, I could sell it if I wanted to, but it's more dangerous than other cloning materials. In short, destroying it is worth more than money." I tell him, having my eyes closed to rest them.
"You think just because you have morals and rules makes you less of a villain?" He questioned me, causing my eyes to open. I looked right at him, glaring at his hateful glare at me.
"No, but it makes me a better one. Any villain that causes too much pain, suffering, destruction and death, those are weaker villains who rely on it to prove they are strong, powerful, worthy. I don't need to lower myself to that, proving I can do my job in the least damaging way. That's what make me superior." I tell him, showing my pride right at him.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd swear you were once a hero. But I doubt that, though." He tells me, though I gave no reaction.
"And what if I was? Would that, in any way, change your opinion of me?" I questioned him, testing him in a way. He showed no signs of shock, so he didn't believe me.
"No, it wouldn't." He tells me, causing me to smile.
"Then I'm just a well disciplined villain with morals." I tell him, satisfied I played with his mind once more.
His eyes narrowed before he looked away, humphing as he did so. I only chuckled at his response, enjoying the quiet in the jet now. After two hours of silence the scanner beeped, causing me to open my eyes to examine it.
"Ah, finally. He probably knows the jet's near by, so no need to surprise him." I say as I followed the beeping sound until it was nothing but a long beep. I landed the jet near by before opening the hatch.
"You're just going to walk in there?" Will asked me after pushing him out, finally able to climb out and stretch my legs.
"Yes, exactly. While I do that, you can find the chemicals to destroy it. Just add water to it to dilute it enough to be useless." I tell him, I mean it was simple enough.
"How do you expect me to find it?" He asked me, showing me he had no trackers and such on him. I rolled my eyes before tossing him one of my earrings.
"Use it to scan, it'll find it. Don't get caught." I tell him, putting the other earring in my pocket before walking up to the base.
I didn't trust Will Du a lot, but I did just enough for him to do that job and that job only. I made it to the entrance where two guards were waiting for me.
"I want to see Gemini, now." I told them in a serious tone.
They nodded, one used a watch to let Gemini know I had arrived alone, then both guided me inside. I had my arms behind my back like most villains do, chest puffed out to show I was dominant. I was soon facing Gemini, sitting above on his 'throne' as he looked down on me.
"Ah, Gogo. We meet face to face at last." He tells me, looking me up and down.
"Cut the act, I am here to tell you I did not appreciate your clone harming me nor my new sidekick." I told him, animus in my tone.
"Ooh,~ a tough little kitten, aren't we?" He mocked me, causing my anger to rise.
"Do not test me, Gemini! I'm giving you this warning, next time won't end happily for you." I told him.
"Did you ever stop to think why I attacked you?" Gemini questioned me, causing me to give a confused look.
"No, I haven't." I said to him, deciding to hear him out.
"It's because of your new 'assistant' owes me money." He tells me, causing me to grow confused.
"What do you mean?" I questioned him, unsure of what he meant.
"When she was in jail, I 'invested' in her to be released, to work for me as well. She decided against it after paying for her, but after I saw her playing in one of your 'games' I located her." He told me, causing me to grow more suspicious of him.
"I told her to either succeed and gather secrets from you or pay me back. She has yet to complete either, though." He added, causing my eyebrows to furrow.
"I don't believe you." I told him, arms crossed over my chest.
"Do you really wish to believe her over me?" He asked me, to which I nodded yes. He then pulled out a phone, calling a number to put on speaker.
"What do you want, Gemini." I heard Adrena's voice on the other end.
"We had a deal, I hope my clone taught you a lesson." Gemini taunted.
"I've been paying you, so why attack my boss! I don't care you attacked me, but why her?!" She yelled at him over the other end.
"She simply got in the way. You still owe me $300,000 for getting you out of jail, training you in fighting, so I want my money." He told her over the phone.
"I'm earning it! You keep hiking up the interest, but I'll have it soon." She told him.
"If you steal me some plans of-" He started, but she cut him off.
"No! I won't steal from her! Ever since I found out her identity, I couldn't do that. She's taken better care of me than you, I'll never betray her." I heard her scold him.
"Then why haven't you told her? Are you afraid she won't ever trust you?" Gemini taunted her, silence was on her end.
"It would be a shame if she were to find out, wouldn't it?" He taunted her.
"Don't, don't please. I'll have the money. I just sent you $30,000 yesterday. I'll send you all my money every week, I promise. It'll take me a couple months to pay you, but please. Please, don't tell her." I heard her plead over the phone.
It made sense now. Where she lived, her acting the way she did, the devotion, the apologies, her not really having the cash on her was all because of him. I felt anger bubbling in me, I couldn't keep quiet.
"Adrena Lynn, you should've told me!" I scold her.
"Eep! Boss, wha-" She started, but I cut her off.
"I don't care that you're in debt, but I needed you to tell me." I scold her, causing silence on her end.
"I appreciate your loyalty, but I can't believe you didn't trust me enough to tell me." I continued scolding her.
"He threatened to hurt you, I thought if I paid him he wouldn't!" She explained in a panic.
"Ah yes, well attacking her wasn't the plan that night, just you." Gemini cut in.
"Shut up you old, inconsiderate fool!" I yelled at him, my eyes turning that freaky yellow. He shut up, knowing I was pissed.
"Boss, I-" She started, but I cut her off.
"Adrena, is there anything else I should know? Any other debts and such?" I questioned through my rage.
"N-no Boss." She stuttered out, I could tell she was trying hard not to cry.
"Was everything you told me the truth?" I asked her, knowing she'd know what I meant.
"Of course." She said softly, causing me to calm down.
"She owes you $300,000?" I asked Gemini.
"Yes, she does." He tells me, a smirk on his face.
"Then I'll pay her debt, but if you ever cross me like this again." I begin warning him, but he raised his hand.
"You have my word, so long as I am paid." He tells me, showing he meant it.
"Adrena, have Fin or Sid wire money to Gemini, now." I ordered her.
"Yes Boss." She squeaked out before Gemini hung up.
"All of this could've been avoided if I was paid sooner." He told me, a wicked smile on his face.
"I know of your interest rate, though I'm glad she refused to give you any information you were looking for." I told him, arms crossed once more.
"We're bad guys, were meant to do this." He tells me in a smug tone.
"Unlike you, I have morals. I'm also happy to know my sidekick has just as much morals as I do." I told him, still upset at her for not telling me. I understood why, but that doesn't mean she's not getting punished.
"Sir, there's $300,000 added into your account." One of his henchmen called out.
"Good, you're free to leave now. Don't take my attack too personal." He tells me, but I didn't move.
"Actually, I want to see that clone once more. It was so very much identical to the original, I just want to make sure." I tell him, softly stoking his ego.
"Well, I suppose I do owe you that." He tells me, snapping his fingers. Soon the clone showed up, smirking at me.
"Shall I fight her, again?" Fake Will asked Gemini, showing the electrocuted spiked iron knuckles.
No, Fake Will isn't a good name. I will dub him Repli-Du after Repli-ku, AKA Replica Riku from Kingdon Hearts Re/Chain of Memories.
"No, no, not this time. She just wishes to admire the work." Gemini tells Repli-Du, having Repli-Du lower his guard.
"Very well, sir." Repli-Du complied, going into a normal stance. I then walked over, examining him.
"He's a perfect replica. I take it you got his DNA from somewhere?" I questioned Gemini, never once taking my eyes off of Repli-Du.
"His hair, nothing difficult." Gemini bragged, to which I pointed to the knuckles.
"May I?" I questioned.
"Of course, after all I know you love machines." Gemini said, gesturing Repli-Du to show me.
Repli-Du did as told, to which I examined them before forcing them into Repli-Du's head, killing the clone instantly and having the electricity start melting/burning him.
"What did you do?!" Gemini yelled as I took the Iron Knuckles away.
"That's for attacking me and my sidekick." I said to him in pure anger before walking out.
"No matter, I can always make another replica." He tells me as I walked outside. I then went to my jet, waiting patiently for what was to come.
Will Du's POV
After she left to the front, I followed quietly. Once they were in, I snuck inside before going down a side corridor. I used the earring Gogo gave me to look for that chemical she talked to me about.
^I can't believe I'm working with her, even if only temporary.^ I thought before the earring began quietly beeping.
I soon found where it was rapidly beeping, only to see some men inside.
"What do you want, replica." One of the men asked me.
^Good, they think I'm the replica. I just… Gotta act evil.^ I thought to myself.
"Boss wants to see you, now." I tell them in a stern tone.
"What for?" Another man asked me.
"Are you questioning me? Should I tell boss you're slacking?" I questioned in a threatening tone, doing my best to look menacing.
They shook in fear before all of them bolted out, fearing my words to be true. I went inside and began searching until I found a big container.
^Now what?^ I thought as I looked at the large container, about 15 feet tall and 20 feet in diameter.
I found a nozzle and had an idea. I carefully detached the nozzle, letting all the chemical spill on the floor as I looked for water. I saw a shower with a drain, so I clogged the drain and turned on the water, then found a sink and did the same thing. I then left, closing the door and putting a towel under the door to flood the room. Once I was done, I escaped and met Gogo at the jet. We had to be in that uncomfortable position again, but I just wanted to leave.
"I take it you succeeded?" She questioned me.
"I did. I take it you did as well?" I answered before asking her.
"Of course." She said, sounding proud of herself.
I then gave her back her earring, to which she took the other out of her pocket. I was surprised that she plugged them in a spot in her jet instead of putting them in her ears.
"I take it you believe your subordinates innocence now, Director?" She asked, to which Director suddenly appeared on a screen.
"Yes, it seems so." Director replied, causing me to go pale.
"Oh, don't worry about Willy here. I'm dropping him off safe and sound at the location I'm sending you. I don't want a prisoner or anything, though I apologize for forcing him to work with me." Gogo continued, shocking me even more.
"Do you expect us to just let you go?" Director asked, to which Gogo laughed.
"Well, either you can or I keep him, as troublesome as he is." Gogo laughed out, which annoyed the director.
"Tell ya what, let me drop him off and then you can chase me. Yeah, I like that plan better. It's much more fun." Gogo added, a bright smile to her face over this.
^She's treating this as a game, how childish.^ I thought in annoyance.
"Will, why don't you decide." Director suddenly asked me, causing me to look right at her.
"Me, Ma'am?" I questioned her.
"Is that a problem?" Director asked me.
"I think he's worried you'll scold him for any choice he picks." Gogo told her with a laugh, causing me to shoot Gogo a hateful glare.
"Agent Will, I will respect any choice you make. Think of this as my apology for doubting your innocence." Director told me, causing me to suddenly look right at her. I was now trusted with a choice, any choice really.
^If I choose to, I can most likely catch and arrest Gogo. But she not only cleared my innocence, she saved me a trip in prison, trouble with the inmates and even had me assist in destroying chemicals and stop Gemini from doing more harm. Although, she's a villain.^ I thought until her words rung in my head.
The world isn't black and white like you see it, but in fact are multiple shades of gray.
I sighed, making my choice.
"I do owe her, so as a thank you we should let her go." I told the Director, then looked at Gogo.
"But next time, I will capture you." I promised Gogo, to which she smiled at me.
"I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Willy. After all, you and Kim Possible make the game a lot more interesting." She said, voice filed with amusement.
^I'm regretting this, already.^ I thought in annoyance.
"Very well, we will arrive at the designated location." Director said before hanging up. Gogo then took out her earrings before putting them back in her ears.
"They record conversations?" I asked her.
"When I want them to, as well as video. It can only hold so much data, but this was perfect for this." She told me, fixing her hair while doing so.
"I'm not going to thank you." I told her, to which she chuckled.
"Trust me, I know. You've already thanked me with the choice you made, so I should thank you back." She told me, causing my left eye to twitch. She knew how to get on my nerves.
"By the way, how old are you?" She asked me, causing me to scoff.
"You do not need to know that." I told her, causing her to laugh once more.
"You seem older than you look, but I'll estimate you're 17 at youngest and 19 oldest." She told me, making me tense. This piqued her interest, to which I cursed myself in my head in German.
"Oh, so I'm right. Interesting. Well, you act older than me but you're younger than me. Do you wanna guess my age?" She asked me, making me groan in annoyance.
"It's not polite to ask a lady her age." I told her, to which she poked me. I jumped and looked right at her, glaring a hard glare.
"Aw,~ I'm annoying you.~" She cooed, teasing me which caused me to growl.
"Just answer my question, I'll tell you if you're right or wrong." She told me, causing me to sigh.
"Fine, I think you're 19 years old, though you act like you're 8." I told her, causing her to laugh loudly.
"Oh dear, you're off a little bit." She laughed out before calming down.
"To be fair, you act like you're in your 40's." She commented, causing me to growl.
"Don't be so uptight, life is short. Try to enjoy life once in a while." She told me, causing my eyes to roll. We then arrived at the location, opening the hatch to let me out.
"Hey, I mean it. Try to have a bit of fun, otherwise your life will be gone in a blink." She told me, giving me advice as I got out.
"Like you would know." I told her with an attitude.
"Actually, I do. If I could turn back time, I'd spend more time with my mom and dad before they died." She told me, causing me to look at her.
Her eyes showed a hint of sadness, she wasn't lying. I only nod before walking away, allowing her to fly off as I reached the Director. I felt comfort around The Director, the only mother figure I ever had in my life.
Perhaps Gogo is right, I should enjoy life a bit more.
Gemini's POV
I was enraged! Gogo had destroyed my clone and stole my iron knuckles!
^Ah well, I have my money and I can always make more clones.^ I thought when some of my men ran to me.
"You summoned us, sir?" One of the 5 asked me.
"What? No, I didn't." I said, confused as to what they were talking about.
"The Replica said you wanted us." The same one told me.
"What are you talking about? The replica has been with me when Gogo was here, and she destroyed it!" I yelled at them, pointing to the sludge pile there.
"But boss, if that's the replica, then who was the one to send us here?" I was asked.
It then hit me, Will Du, the real one had snuck in. I quickly rushed to the lab, ripping it open as water flooded out. I saw my tank empty, which enraged me.
"Nooooo!~" I screamed out in fury, being out done by my sister's agent. I then pulled out my phone to call a certain woman.
"You did this!" I shouted on my end as soon as I heard the phone being answered.
"What are you talking about, Gemini?" I heard Gogo's voice, sounding confused.
"Don't! Don't play dumb!" I yelled at her.
"I'm confused, what are you talking about?" She questioned me.
"You worked with Will Du to destroy my chemicals and lab!" I screamed in rage at her, feeling myself turning red.
"Oh no, that's awful. I'm sorry to hear that, but that had nothing to do with me. I'm sure you have cameras, so you can see if I had anything to do with it. It wouldn't surprise me if he snuck in and did everything on his own, since you framed him and all that." She told me, sounding quite innocent.
I had stomped to my security area, replayed the cameras and she seemed to tell the truth. The two never talked, she had no idea he was there, and they left at different times.
"Well, it seems I was wrong." I said, still upset over what happened.
"Believe me, if I had known he was there I would've warned you. After all, I wouldn't work with him after what your clone did to me, I would've attacked him." She told me, which made sense.
"Yes, yes I apologize." I say to her, not wanting to cross her again.
"I'll accept, thank you." She said before hanging up.
"I'm getting too old for this, crud." I muttered as my blood pressure spike had gotten to me, so off I went to lay down.
Gogo's POV
I hung up on Gemini, grinning like a mad woman over my acting skills.
"Stupid man, you deserved it." I muttered as I made my way back to my hideout.
Once there, I went inside to see Fin and Sid standing there and Adrena Lynn on the couch. I went over to them, handing Fin the weapon.
"I want this locked up, now." I ordered. Fin silently obeyed me, then I turned to Sid.
"Look up where it's being sold, I want the products to be stopped." I ordered, to which Sid silently obeyed. Once both men were gone, I turned to look at Adrena, who looked down at the floor.
"I'm not happy you hid this from me, but I understand why you did. I'm glad you didn't let him know anything, but that's no excuse. You not only endangered yourself but endangered me as well. If you are to work with me, I must know everything. Any debts, any grudges against you, any enemies, anything that's going to cause trouble. So, tell me now." I told her, voice being stern and domineering. She shivered from my tone, slowly moving her head up to look at me.
"I swear, Gemini was the only one I owed money too." She told me, looking slightly distraught but mostly sad.
"Nothing else I need to know about?" I questioned her.
"No, nothing. Nothing like that at least." She told me, causing my eyes to narrow.
"Is anything else worse than that? Or something unrelated?" I questioned her, my tone was cold.
"Unrelated." She squeaked out, knowing some of how my anger gets.
"I'm not disappointed, but I can't let you go unpunished. If you would've told me about your debt, I would've given you an advance in pay to pay him off. I just want to know, why work for Gemini and why quit?" I questioned her, wanting answers.
"Gemini paid for me and other men to be taken out of jail to train and work under him. I was the only female there and I hated the abuse. He trained me to fight but wanted me to be a 'typical' woman as well as lash out at me, saying 'I remind him of his sister' and such. After he hit me in my face while insulting me, I left. I was only gone a month before I saw your challenges. He had gotten my address and number, always bothering me. I did agree to give him money, maybe even a couple blueprints to keep him satisfied as well as lower my debt. Then I found out you were a woman, not a sidekick, not a loony scientist, but a machine loving, butt kicking, intelligent woman taking no orders from men, being your own boss, everything I had hoped to be. I decided, if I won, I would forever be loyal to you. No matter my results, I would pay Gemini back with my hard-earned money. I mean, I heard rumors you worked as a partner with Falsetto and then taking in clients to do jobs or repairs, but you chose that and had rules and boundaries, you weren't forced. When you told me about your brothers, I didn't have the heart to tell you about my debt. But I swear, with everything in me, I didn't know that he would send a clone to hurt me or even hurt you. I'm so, so sorry. I'll take any punishment you give." She tells me, being humble and showing both shame and humility.
"As I said, I'm not disappointed. I'm just glad to know the truth. I don't want to punish you, but I have to." I told her, causing her to look down once more.
"I want you to clean all my modes of transportation. This means dusting/vacuuming the inside, washing and waxing the outside and even clean the dirt off of the tires." I told her, causing her to shoot her head right up to look at me.
"That'll take forever!~" She whined out, to which I gave her a stern look. To make my point known, I made my eyes glow. This made her stop, her eyes widened at how I can do this.
"Then I suggest you start. From 6 AM until 8 PM you will do this. You will have bathroom breaks, food breaks and be able to sleep. I want this done in 5 days or less." I tell her, my voice was colder than ice.
"I-I'm on it, Boss." She stuttered and squeaked before bolting. I calmed my eyes before looking at Fin and Sid, who had returned.
"One of you watch her, take turns if you must. I take it you heard the punishment?" I told them then asked, to which they nodded.
"Good, I'm gonna lay down, this was too much for me." I told them, finally showing how drained I was.
"What would you like for dinner, Miss?" Fin questioned me as Sid went to keep and eye on Adrena for me.
"You pick, I'm too tired to care." I told him, slowly making my way to my room.
I barely made it to the bed before passing out, exhausted. I hope the rest of the week wouldn't be like this.
What an episode. This had a decent plot twist, unplanned I might add. I hope everyone enjoys this one, it was a bit tough to do this. Also, ignore most of the 'scientific facts' I spout out. The sky being blue is true, but the other stuff I just made up. If it turns out to be true, then cool. Anyways, see you next crime.~
