0713MM: Hey guys! I welcome you to the 22nd chapter of The Silver Valkyrie! I do not own Black Clover, nor its characters, nor the OCs that are used in this chapter. The OCs and their Spells respectively are owned by Warmachine375. Chapter start!^^
Chapter 22
"Song Magic: Mother's Lullaby!" Kahono declared as she began to sing. As she did so, a wave of mana came out of her mouth and flew towards Arbus.
"Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Roar!" Noelle added, a watery dragon's head appeared and was then fired towards Arbus in conjunction to Kahono's spell. Despite this, Arbus's lip just formed a dark smile.
"You 2 are pathetic if you think that'll work on me!" Arbus taunted the 2 girls. "Here! Let me show you a real Water Magic Spell! Water Magic: Violent Wave!" Suddenly, a massive wave of water appeared behind Arbus before driving towards Kahono and Noelle. While Kahono and Noelle's Spells were able to weaken it, it was only stopped by slamming into Noelle's Sea Dragon's Lair. But even then, the wave of water pushed the water barrier backwards several feet. With the 2 girls inside of it, they began tumbling around.
"Aaaaaah!" Noelle and Kahono cried out as Sea Dragon's Lair crashed into a wall before it shattered; thus dropping the 2 girls to the ground. As Noelle and Kahono began to get up, Arbus began to stride towards them; a dark smile on his face. He then raised his right arm up, preparing to launch another attack.
"I would ask you 2 to just surrender, but considering you still wish to fight despite how outclassed you are, then I'll gladly keep going!" Arbus grinned maliciously. "I'll make sure you 2 drown by my Water Magic!" Once both Noelle and Kahono got up, there lips formed smiles.
"Are you sure about that?" Noelle and Kahono asked simultaneously.
"What?" Arbus frowned deeply before his sneer returned. "Either you have water in your brains, or you 2 are just being arrogant pieces of shit. You can't beat me!"
"Then let's test that theory!" Noelle retorted. To Kahono and Arbus's surprise, Noelle began to become flashes of blue light as she danced around the cave.
What the hell is this power…?! Arbus thought.
"Whoa…!" Kahono breathed before smiling. "Alright. I think I see your strategy, Noelle. Song Magic: Destructive Beat!" As Kahono began to sing, a sound wave came out of her mouth and flew towards Arbus.
"Foolish girl! That's not going to work!" Arbus mocked as he formed a barrier of water around himself to take the attack from Kahono. He then dissipated his water barrier and began to charge up his Water Magic imbued in his hands. "Now die! Water Magic: Torrential-!" But he didn't get to finish his sentence as Noelle reappeared in front of Arbus after a minute of flashing around the area and firing multiple Sea Dragon's Waterball at Arbus, who had been evading them in addition to shielding with his Water Magic.
"Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Roar!" Noelle declared. Arbus expected it to come out of Noelle's hands and launch at him. But instead, the sea dragon came from underneath him like a whale's spout and launched him into the cave's ceiling. Arbus coughed up a bit of blood as he fell back down towards the ground.
How could I lose these girls….?! Arbus thought as he watched Noelle raise her hands, which became watery claws.
"Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Claws!" Noelle then slashed Arbus's chest in a diagonal fashion from upper left to lower right before he hit the ground. Noelle strided over to the fallen Dark Disciple.
"Ugh….." Arbus groaned.
"You want to know why you lost to us?" Noelle asked the dazed Arbus. "It's not just because of the environment we're in. But it was because of your own arrogance and ignorance to the situation." Noelle explained.
"Ugh….!" Arbus groaned. "You 2…...just got lucky…!"
"I disagree." Kahono smiled. "It was teamwork. Now, time to put you to sleep. Song Magic: Mother's Lullaby." This time, Arbus could not defend himself from Kahono's spell; thus falling asleep.
"Phew." Noelle rubbed her forehead with her right hand. "He was tough. Though I do apologize for using you like that."
"It's fine Noelle." Kahono dismissed. "You did what you had to to win. Now, let's head in the direction of that beastly mana."
"Right!" Noelle agreed; thus the 2 girls headed in the direction of Vetto's mana.
"Aha! This is quite fun!" Tiffany grinned as she and Valeria were casting spells one after another at each. "Quite fun for me that is! Since my magic is great against yours!"
"Perhaps." Valeria agreed before she narrowed her left eye. "However, a fight between mages ultimately comes down to experience."
"Ha! What's that going to do?!" Tiffany laughed darkly. "Ice Magic: Freeze Ray!" A beam of ice fired out of Tiffany's hands and flew towards Valeria. "I'll freeze you solid and ship you off to the Heart Kingdom! That will shatter there hopes to save there precious Queen, Lolopechka!"
"You won't have your way, Dark Disciple!" Valeria retorted as she did motions with her arms.
Mana Zone: Earth Magic: Dance of Dolor. Valeria thought. Tiffany gaped in surprise as Valeria effortlessly dodged her attack.
"Tch….!" Tiffany grunted in irritation. "Alright fine! I guess I'll have to use a much wider ranged attack to freeze you solid!"
"Earth Creation Magic: Golem Knights." Valeria waved her arms around as several chunks of the watery rock rose up into the air that soon turned into knights with greatswords and claymores as the weapon and the shield respectively. After another wave of her arms, the small squadron of Golem Knights began to move towards Tiffany.
"Hahaha!" Tiffany laughed as she began to charge up her Ice Magic's mana around her body. "Time to bring you into my version of Hell! I'm certain you'll enjoy your stay!" Tiffany just laughed before continuing. "Oh wait, no you won't!"
"Tch…!" Valeria grunted. Suddenly, the entire cave area the 2 were in began to freeze over. Because of this, Valeria's Golem Knights froze over before shattering into pieces. "Whaaa…?"
"Ice Magic: Subzero World." Tiffany explained. "It was automatically activated after changing the temperature of my mana reserves to below freezing temperatures."
Changing the temperature, and ultimately the pressure of your own mana? Valeria thought.
"I take it that that technique can only apply to Fire and Ice Magic users?" Valeria questioned. Tiffany just shrugged nonchalantly.
"Don't know, and don't care." Tiffany replied coolly as several crystalized ice spears appeared around her. "Time to turn into a statue! Ice Magic: Subzero Spears!" Suddenly, all the ice spears around Tiffany fired at Valeria. Due to Valeria still using Mana Zone, she just barely managed to evade them due to the ground now being icy thanks to Tiffany's Ice Magic: Subzero World Spell.
"This going to be more trickier then I originally thought." Valeria spoke to herself as she continued to evade the ice spears Tiffany kept firing at her. As she continued evading Tiffany's attacks, the air begins to grow colder, causing her to start to freeze from her feet up.
Dammit! Valeria thought. It's as if she has a Mana Zone active! Soon I won't be able to-! Before she could finish her thought, Tiffany fired her subzero spears at Valeria, causing the blondette to cry out in pain as she was launched backwards and pinned against the now frozen wall.
"Can't…..move….!" Valeria clenched her teeth. Tiffany then began to stride towards the now pinned to the wall Valeira. A dark smile on her face.
"Hahaha! You're so pathetic!" Tiffany mocked. "I mean really! You're a Stage 0 Mage, yet you can't handle me! A Dark Disciple with 50% Devil Power!"
"Dammit…..!" Valeria growled as she felt the ice climbing up her legs. "I….I c-can't d-die…. N-Not like this…..!"
"Oh this is just too good!" Tiffany continued gleefully. "Once you're dead, I have no doubt in my mind that Lady Eva will promote me!~ Maybe even give me 10 more percent of Devil Power! Wouldn't that be nice?!"
"Tch….!" Valeria grunted. "Damn it…..! My magic is useless now…! Wh-What….can I even do n-now….?!"
"You'll do nothing but freeze to death!" Tiffany sneered. Valeria felt the ice crawl up to her chest torso/thighs area.
"I g-guess this is the end for me…." Valeria spoke softly while clenching her teeth. But then..
"Hey!" Tiffany and Valeria looked up to see a young woman with brown-yellow hair jump down from a ledge above before firing off from her eyes (through her glasses, in case that wasn't clear enough when Alice was first introduced) Golden Eye Magic: Multi Spread Barrage at Tiffany. Tiffany was surprised by the new arrival that she got hit by the gold energy beams and got sent flying backwards into the opposite side of the area's wall. "Keep your magic off of Valeria!"
"Alice…..?" Valeria questioned, also in shock. "Why did you….-"
"Come?" Alice finished. "I sensed your mana and came as fast as I could after defeating some Eye of the Midnight Sun Mage." She then turned to Valeria and used her Golden Eye Magic to thaw out Valeria, who then rubbed her legs to get them to warm up. "Plus we're friends. Not just that, but also squadmates. And as squadmates, we have each other's backs." She clenched her right hand into a fist and placed it on her chest. "That's what Master Fanzell taught me and the other kids he trained back in the Diamond Kingdom. Use your magic to protect others. So that's what I'll do. And continue to do." Valeria allowed herself to take in Alice's words before finding herself giving a light smile.
"Right." Valeria replied.
"Inconceivable….!" Tiffany growled as she got up from the ground. "To think that someone would show up and ruin my fun….! You'll pay for that girl!" Tiffany's mana and the mana around her began to freeze over. "You'll both become ice sculptures! This I promise!" Despite her threatening words, both Valeria and Alice's lips formed a smile.
"Are you sure about that?" Both asked Tiffany simultaneously. Tiffany just gave the 2 an incredulous look.
"But of course I am!" Tiffany scowled deeply as her Ice Magic: Subzero Spears reappeared around her. "Time to die! Both of you!"
"You ready, Alice?" Valeria asked her friend.
"Yeah, Valeria!" Alice grinned. "Time to put this arrogant Dark Disciple in her place!"
"Go ahead and try!" Tiffany taunted as she fired her Subzero Spears at her 2 opponents. "I'll freeze you both, then this entire Temple!"
True Earth Magic: Giga Crush! Valeria thought as she waved her 2 arms around as brown runes appeared around Tiffany before the ground underneath her imploded; thus launching her up into the air and straight into another Multi Spread Barrage Spell from Alice; thus sending into the ceiling, while also being bombarded by the large earthen chunks Valeria got from the initial implosion on the ground at the start of her spell.
Dammit! I'm getting comboed! Tiffany thought.
"I…..won't allow myself to be beaten like this!" Tiffany growled angrily. "I will win and impress Lady Eva!" Despite her words, she had blood trickling down from her face, arms, and legs wound, in addition from a chest wound from Alice and Valeria's teamwork against her. Before Tiffany could cast another spell, she was suddenly hit with 2 golden lasers; thus paralyzing her in place. "What….?!"
"Golden Eye Binding Magic: Paralyze Laser." Alice spoke after firing the 2 golden beams from her eyes. Shortly after, Tiffany fell from the air and slammed into the ground; making a small crater. She was still paralyzed by Alice's spell. "It'll wear off in about 5 or so hours."
"But by then, the mission here will be over." Valeria added. "So get used to being binded like that."
"...!" If Tiffany wasn't paralyzed in place, she'd be rambling at the 2 women. Valeria turned to face Alice and gave her a smile.
"Thanks for coming to my aid." Valeria told her friend.
"You're welcome." Alice replied before frowning. "But I sense that massive negative mana from the center of this place. Let's go and go fight."
"Yes let's." Valeria agreed. Soon after, the 2 begin to run in the direction of Vetto's mana.
"Mist Magic: Illusion Vortex!" Nebra declared as she raised her hands up. Soon thereafter, a veil of mist began to cover all around Aldrich. The male Dark Disciple looked around in slight confusion.
"The hell is this supposed to do?" Aldrich scowled, unimpressed. Suddenly, an illusion of Nebra appeared within the vortex of mist. "What…?!" But despite it being an illusion of Nebra, it looked very real to Aldrich. In addition to the illusion of Nebra, the entire area Nebra's Illusion Vortex covered around him made it seem like if he walked forward, he'd reach them. "Fine then! I'll just fire my magic until I hit one of you!" After he said that, Aldrich began to fire multiple Lightning Magic bolts in all directions in hopes to hit at least 1 of his 3 opponents.
"You can try, but it won't work!" Nebra taunted the trapped Dark Disciple. "Nozel, now!"
"Right!" Nozel replied as he raised his hands up. "Mercury Magic: Rain of SIlver!" Suddenly, mercury began to rain down in the area Aldrich was trapped in thanks to Nebra's Mist Magic. Siona had several paper blades around her, ready to fire into the mist. Within the mist, Aldrich was taking Nozel's Rain of Silver; thus stopping him from firing his Lightning Magic all over the place.
"You bastards!" Aldrich roared. "I'll get you-!"
"Siona, now!" Aldrich heard Nebra tell the Amber Phoenix squad member. Suddenly, several paper blades showered down onto Aldrich.
"Aaaaaaaaaah!" Aldrich cried out before the barrage of spells stopped. Even the mist surrounding him vanished.
"Mist Binding Magic: Mist Spider Threads!" A large mist spider appeared from Nebra's hands and wrapped its misty silk around Aldrich.
"Dammit…..!" Aldrich growled. "I'm granted 50% Devil Power from Lady Eva…..! Yet I lost to these 3….?!"
"Because you're far too arrogant." Nozel replied coolly. "Come on, let's go." Nebra and Siona nodded silently in agreement before heading off in the direction of Vetto's enormous mana.
"Whoo hoo! Just 1 more of those Dark Disciple guys left!" Gifso cheered before frowning deeply. "Still….that monster of a man….!"
"I know." Acier agreed. "But we have to have faith in our squad members." Captain Fana and Mars nodded in agreement.
"Yeah." Captain Fana retorted.
"Speaking of faith in our squad members, look." Mars pointed down below them. The other 3 looked down to see that Courtney has taken care of the Eye of the Midnight Sun mage. "Looks like Courtney dispatched the guy that was keeping us trapped in here. Well, besides Gifso's own power, of course."
"That's right!" Courtney called up to them. "I'll be heading back to help our squads!" And with that, she used her Spatial Magic to make a portal, then she walked right through it. Shortly after that, it disappeared.
"Come on girlie, lemme slash you!" Ruin mocked Friede as she kept evading his Slash Magic attacks.
"This guy…!" Friede grunted in irritation. "In that case…." Her grimoire turned a few pages before it glowed again. "I'll have to go wide! Black Flame Magic: Sinner's Purgatory!" With a swipe of her arms and twirl of her scythe, Friede released an explosion of black flames from her body over a large area to engulf Ruin.
"Uh-oh….!" Ruin gulped. "Th-This can't be! I can't lose! Not to a little girl like you!"
I guess I won't be needing any help after all. Friede thought. Although, what was the angry yelling I heard inside my head a bit ago?
"Ha! Nice try girlie!" Ruin sneered as the smoke cleared to reveal he had cut through Friede's spell thanks to his staff, and his Slash Magic. "But you'll have to do-!"
"Water Magic: Holy Fist of Love!" A watery fist came out of nowhere and punched Ruin across the area and into the wall. Coming into view was none other then Lily Aquaria, former nun of Hage Village. Despite this, she still wore her nun outfit.
"Ugh….!" Ruin groaned.
"Sister Lily!" Friede cheered, happy to see the former nun. She coughed, and remembered that Lily Aquaria was no longer a nun thanks to her. "I mean, Lily."
"Hi Friede." Lily smiled at the youth. "I sensed your mana, and I figured you'd need some help."
"Thank you!" Friede grinned. "The help is appreciated!"
"You stupid fools….!" Ruin growled as he got back up. He had blood trickling down from his face thanks to Lily's spell that slammed into the wall. "I'll kill you both!"
Kill him! The voice inside Friede's head roared. Kill that bastard! Right now! Otherwise I'll make you do it! Friede put her hands to her head.
"That voice…..!" Friede whispered to herself.
"You alright Friede?" Lily asked the younger blackette out of concern. "You seemed to be a little out of it for a second there. I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Friede glanced over at Lily and nodded in confirmation.
"Yeah, I'm alright Lily." Friede replied as she lowered her hands from her head' her facial expression becoming serious. "Let's get this guy."
"Yes." Lily agreed. Ruin on the other hand, just laughed darkly.
"You can try, but you will fail!" Ruin mocked the 2. Friede and Lily glanced at each other, then back at Ruin; grins on there faces.
"You asked for it!" Friede retorted as she imbued her free hand with Black Flame Magic before leaving forward. "Black Flame Creation Magic: Black Hound! Plus Black Flame Magic: Black Flame Strong Fist!"
"A dual casting?!" Ruin gaped as he got punched into the wall by another Holy Fist of Love. Friede's Black Flame Creation Magic: Black Hound Spell then trapped Ruin so he couldn't escape. Doing so would result in a severe burn. "How powerful is this girlie…?!" Ruin coughed up blood as Friede's Black Flame Magic imbued free hand punched him in the stomach. "Dammit…..! Lady Eva….. Sorry….." He then face planted into the ground after falling forward after being punched by Friede.
"Nice going there." Lily smiled. "Time for me to finish it up with a Binding Spell. Her grimoire turned a few pages before glowing a dark green. "Storming Binding Magic: Storm Hurricane Prison." Miniature storms appeared and surrounded Ruin before latching onto his body to hold him in place. Normally he'd receive electric shocks, but since he was already knocked out, that didn't happen.
"Nice Binding Spell." Friede commented before her facial expression became quizzical. "Though I still don't know who uses Storm Magic."
"What do you mean?" Lily questioned as the 2 began to walk away from the knocked out and bound Ruin.
"I mean, it can't be your inmate magic." Friede retorted. "So then, who's magic is it?"
"Not sure." Lily shrugged. "Anyway, we have that big shot of the Eye of the Midnight Sun to take care of first. We can ask questions about Storm Magic later."
"Right." Friede agreed. "Now then, time to head to the center of this place to face that guy."
"Yes." Lily nodded in agreement. Soon thereafter, Friede and Lily began to running from there location and towards the center where the main fight was taking place.
"This bastard…!" Dominante growled, remembering how much pain it brought her to see Mariella down and out already. Kabwe had come in to help the trio, but Vetto defeated him just as quickly as Mariella. Now it was just Fanzell and her left.
"You lot are pathetic!" Vetto mocked as he easily avoided Dominante's Vortex Binding Magic: Quick Wind and Fanzell's slash from his sword made out of wind. "The only reason you 2 are still standing right now is because of your 2's teamwork. Not only that, but both of your magic attributes work really well together." He paused and sniffed the air. "Do you smell that?"
"What?" Fanzell frowned deeply. Vetto's lips just formed a dark smile.
"It's the smell of despair." Vetto replied as his arms and legs were enveloped by his Beast Magic mana. "And you 2 will be receiving despair next!" He then charged straight at the 2. Dominante then raised her arms up.
"Vortex Creation Magic: Encompassing Barrier!" Dominante announced. At her call, a barrier of magical whirlwinds appeared around her and Fanzell. "I won't let you beat me and Fanzell! Now Fanzell!"
"Right!" Fanzell replied as he leapt out of Dominante's magical whirlwind barrier to intercept Vetto's charge and slashed across Vetto's left shoulder down. "Got you!" Vetto staggered back in surprise, then he began to laugh darkly.
"Hahaha! Not bad for a mere human!" Vetto praised. "Still though, that attack didn't even leave a scratch on me!" Fanzell and Dominante gaped at that.
"No way…..!" Dominante breathed before recomposing herself. "Then we will just keep fighting! Right Fanzell?!"
"Yeah!" Fanzell agreed as he leapt back to stand next to Dominante.
"Cute, but utterly useless!" Vetto sneered. "Fall into despair! Both of you! Beast Magic: Porcupine Artillery!" A magical aura around his body that takes the shape of the porcupine. After that, several porcupine quills fired off of the magical aura and straight towards Dominante's Encompassing Barrier Spell. Both Fanzell and Dominante thought that the magical barrier would reflect the magical quills Vetto fired off, and continued to do so. However, the magical quills managed to squeak by and impale the 2 several times. Dominante's Encompassing Barrier Spell dissipated as Vetto charged forward at extreme speed and rammed the duo in the wall; thus causing the wall to crack and fall into pieces around the bleeding Fanzell and Dominante. Vetto dusted his hands off in satisfaction at his work. Fanzell's Wind Creation Magic: Slashing Wind Emperor sword he held had also dissipated.
"FANZELL! DOMINANTE!" Captain Fana screamed in utter horror. Mars just held Fana in utmost worry.
"Those 2 were a great pair to fight that monster, yet he managed to beat them too….!" Gifso breathed. Captain Acier just stared in disbelief.
Why… Why is Patri doing all of this? Captain Acier thought. The Magic Stones… Does he need them for something? But for what? She then gaped, as if realizing it. No…..! It can't be…..!
"F-Fanzell….. D-Dominante…..!" Captain Fana felt herself crying. Mars just rubbed Fana's back in comfort.
"They're alive." Mars reassured Fana. "I can sense their mana from here." Captain Fana sniffled, then looked at Mars and nodded silently.
Vetto stared down at the defeated Fanzell and Dominante. He grinned as he cracked his knuckles as the magical aura of a porcupine around him faded.
"Time to end you. Once and for all." Vetto told the now unconscious Fanzell and Dominante. He raised his right foot and was about to slam it down on Fanzell first in hopes to puncture his lungs. Before he could however, he was launched backwards by what appeared to be a mana beam that came from behind him. He groaned, then turned around to see what appeared to be a dragon made out of purely mana. With Dazu riding on top of it.
"Hey." Dazu spoke dangerously low. Vetto raised an eyebrow at her.
"Hmm?" Vetto questioned. Dazu clenched her hands into fists. When Dazu spoke again, Vetto was surprised by the volume of her voice, despite her being short.
"What do you think you're doing to my squadmates?!" Dazu shouted.
0713MM: And that does it for chapter 22! So I did 4 out of 5 Dark Disciple fights in this chapter, as well as showing some of Fanzell Kruger and Dominante Code-Kruger vs Vetto. The reason Dominante and Fanzell lasted longer than Mariella is because their magic attributes work really well together. Though to be fair, Mariella would have been taken out first anyway regardless. I wanted to show Mariella helping Fanzell and Dominante against Vetto, but due to the lack of Ice Magic Spell names for Mariella in canon, it was a bit tricky. So sadly, Mariella got defeated offscreen. But that's okay! We got the husband and wife action for a bit before ultimately losing to Vetto. Now in canon, it was Asta and Kiato that showed up next. But because I have 2 squads for this mission, there's going to be a lot more fights against Vetto. But I will say this: Chapters 23 and 24, possibly even into Chapters 25 and 26, will be action packed with fights against Vetto. So, out of all the mages that are still up and about, who should face Vetto next after Dazu? (You might have to go back to either chapter 19 or 21 to remember who's on this mission from both squads though. So I apologize for that. XD)
