Takara sat in the living room. "Two month for a Preventer mission!?" She cried, staring up at her father.

"Yep, it stinks, I know." Duo nods as he sits on the edge of the coffee table.

"But you're not a Preventer anymore. Ever since I can remember we've had the salvage business."

"They need me." Duo replied. "So I gotta go."

"But what about me?" Takara asked. "I get the house all to myself?" She suddenly asked eagerly.

"No." Duo shook his head. "I don't want to see what the house would look like with just you."

"But Howard's just next door."

"Nope. Sorry."

Takara folds her arms. "Then sounds like the most logically thing is that I come with."

"No,no,no,no!" Duo rapidly shook his head. "Not after you backed Quatre's truck into Zechs' truck pinning both trucks to a building."

"There was a hill! And an accident! I said I was sorry." His daughter grumbled. "But you found it historical."

Duo stood up. "I did." He agreed. "But Lady Une was not pleased." He walked up to a long table that's resting near a wall. "And I'm grounding you."

Takara's eyes grew wide. "For that!? That was last year!" She cried. "And, I shouldn't have wired that engine with my eyes closed, but Howard dared me!" She added. "No one was hurt when it blew up. Just suit all over my face."

"I already know about that." Duo turns back around to face her while holding a piece of paper in his hand. "You're not in trouble, now if I see your report card, that'd make more since."

Takara blinked. "I'm grounded, but not grounded?" She asked confused. "Am I missing something?"

"Babe." Duo walked up and sat next to her on the couch. "I mean a summer camp on Earth."

Takara wrinkled her nose. "Earth? You expect me to go to Earth. Bugs live there don't they?"

"You're a colony kid." He wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "All this artificial stuff ... it doesn't beat the real thing. As you know I've lived on Earth during the wars."

"But Earth also has gravity, doesn't it? I mean real gravity?" Takara paused. "Is that where mom is?" She asked slowly and cautiously.

Duo pulls away from her. "I've told you to not bring her up." He moves to a window to look out.

"You don't talk about her! You won't talk about her! Every. Time."

"Takara!" Duo turns to her, his cobalt blue eyes hard. "Stop." His face softened. "Just stop."

A side door is heard and soon Howard walks in from a hallway. "Hey, how's my two favorite people?" He asks cheerfully.

Duo tosses the camp brochure onto the coffee table before storming out of the room.

Takara picks up the brochure, taking a glance at it. "I'm not going!" She yells in the direction her father walked through, she threw down the brochure and stormed towards the stairs.

Howard frowns and shakes himself as if he just got a cold shiver. "Whoa! This normal cheerful house just turned cold." He comments, before moving. "Duo!" He calls, heading in the direction that the former Gundam Pilot disappeared through.

Ameonna started at her mother. "What? A bakery school?" She asked. "I didn't know that was a thing."

"It is." Lita nods.

"But what am I gonna do while you get to play around inside a kitchen for two months?"

"Summer camp." Lita answered simply.

"What!?" Ameonna cried. "Summer camp? Mom, remember last time I went to a camp? I still have the scar on my knee, and I fell in that patch of poison ivy." She shivered. "And that horse threw me! I still get nightmares from being thrown!"

"Only because that camp counselor wasn't doing her job." Lita replied as she moved around the kitchen. "Luckily Trowa was still there to help you."

"First and last time I ever go to a summer camp."

"Just cause you had one bad experience doesn't mean anything."

Ameonna pouts. "I bet dad."- She trailed off, wincing when a lot of pots and pans clattered loudly to the floor. She opened her eyes slowly to see the cabinet door open and all the pots and pans on the floor.

"Ameonna." Emotion swam through Lita's face, and her daughter shrank away. "Your dad's not here. He's never been here!" She picks up a brochure from the kitchen bar. "You're going and that's final!" With that she turns and walks out of the kitchen.

Ameonna blinks as she watches her mother leave the kitchen. She turns to see Mina standing there in the doorway that led to the back porch.

"I thought you knew better then to bring up your dad." Mina Barton said as she walked up to Ameonna.

"I try not to bring him up." Ameonna replied. "But she won't talk about him." She turns to look at the mess on the floor. "Ever."

"Oh honey." Mina hugged her. "She's just trying to protect you."

That grabbed Ameonna's attention. "What? Was dad a." She paused. "Bad guy?" She asked.

"No, he's a very good guy! And that's all I have to say about the subject."

"It's just not fair." Ameonna said. "Mallery gets to do things with Trowa."

"Your dad is a good man." Mina insisted, gently squeezing Ameonna to her side. "You need to believe that."

"How can I believe that when I'm not aloud to talk about him?" Ameonna asked. "Or learn about him?"

"I." Mina stutters. "I don't know." She admits.

Ameonna pulls away from her and turns to her. "Thank you for trying to cheer me up Mina." With that she leaves the kitchen."

"Ame." Mina tried and trailed off, her blue eyes glittered with tears as she watched child leave.
