Chapter 3

The students loaded out of the carriages and into the great hall. Many students were pointing at the head table in confusion when they saw so many professors. As soon as the last student took a seat Minerva brought the first years in. When the sorting finished Albus stood,

"Welcome back and welcome to Hogwarts. I would like to remind you the Forbidden Forest is as the name suggests forbidden. The whomping willow is forbidden for any students who do not wish to be thrashed around and thrown in the air. The list of forbidden items is on Filch's office door, please feel free to look, as it grows every year.

This year, as returning students can probably tell we have many new teachers who will be with us for five years and then I have to fill their places. When I call your name please stand and tell us what subject you will be teaching.

Oh and before I forget I would like to announce that one of your new professors has removed the curse on the defense position and we can now keep a professor for as many years as we like, however, this current one will only be here for five years.

The new professors will be going by their first names and they are as follows:

"George" "I will be teaching your History Of Magic class which means no more sleeping through class, although I won't be as boring as Binns was." "Good luck he's a prankster," said Ron.

"Luna" " I will be teaching Care Of Magical Creatures."

"Ron" "I am the Quidditch Director and can help out during practices. My main job is to keep a schedule so that one team isn't booking out the field and not letting the other team have a chance, and so we can avoid having two teams book at the same time. Because believe me you don't want to be puking out slugs cause you try to curse someone who uses his father to win him the ability to practice just cause your house was going to practice and doesn't get to."

"I can say this is a true story, my father bought me my way onto the Quidditch team cause I was an arrogant boy when I was a child; which I no longer am I have experienced horrors no one wants to experience; he tried to curse me into puking slugs but he forgot his hand-me-down wand was broken from when he crashed a flying car into the womping willow just cause my old house elf locked the barrier so he couldn't get onto the express so he flew to school," said Draco.

"Ginny" "I am one of your two Defense against the Dark Arts professors. Yes, you heard me right, two professors, trust me it will be easier with two of us instructing your class. This way one can be helping one person out while the other helps another person."

"Harry" "I am your other Defense professor. You will have a good time in our class."

"Draco" "I will be teaching a new class called Wizarding Customs, it is a required class for all students."

"Hermione" "I will be teaching Muggle studies which will be required for all people except for those who were raised by muggles."

"Neville" "I will be teaching Herbology for first through fifth years while Professor Sprout will continue with Newt level classes."

"Fleur" "I will be teaching ballroom dancing which is required for all students until you pass a dancing test and once you pass the test you will take the class for two months every year."

"Bill" "I will be teaching an optional class for Newt-level students about curse breaking."

"Percy" "I will be teaching an optional class for Newt-level students who would like to write up court reports and Wizengamout meeting reports which will help prepare you for the required tests to do the job. That is the only training you will have before the test. I know from experience, and the only reason I passed it was because I spent most of my Hogwarts education studying and writing essays even if they weren't assigned. You need a lot of practice to be at the levels required for this career, but this should not make you change your mind about the job. The job is very interesting and you learn things you never would have learned about unless you were involved in a case or meeting."

"Charlie" "I will be teaching a class about Dragons and how to care for them. It is called Dragons and their Care which is optional for NEWT students only who want to go into a career involving dragons."

"Those are your new teachers all of you are required to be at breakfast tomorrow at 6:00 am for schedules and a few announcements, and to the older students who may be wondering why it is so early, we have more classes this year so classes start earlier and there is only one class per year happening at a certain time on a certain day," said Professor Dumbledore, "Curfew for 1st and 2nd years is at 9:30 and 3rd years and up is at 10, all detentions have to end before 11 pm, prefects please lead first years to the dorms and have a good night"
