Summary: Daisy time traveled back in tiem to make her past self and others watch Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

*Chapter 1*: Chapter 1

"Urg, what the bloody hell is going on?"

Skye heard somebody groan out, which was pretty weird, because she lived alone. In a van.

"Hunter?" A second voice questioned.

Yes, it seemed that she was no longer in her van.

"Bob?"

Skye sat up, looking around. She seemed to be at some sort of movie theater. She was sitting in one of the chairs in the back row, approximately in the middle. In front of her were rows of blue chairs, with people waking up in them. Skye was pretty sure she never seen any of them in her life.

On the left side of the room were two doors making men and women bathrooms, and on the right side of the room was a long line of tables that seemed to have lots of different sorts of foods on it.

"WAKE UP PEOPLE!"

Skye winced at the loud voice of the person who was trying to shake awake somebody in the center of the theatre. The person suddenly turned around and-...

"What the?"

Skye stared at... Herself.

Only the person in front of her seemed to have slightly darker wavy hair, and was dressed in all black.

"WAKE UP!" The person yelled.

"Hey, no need to yell lady, everybody's awake." Another groan came from a guy who was called Hunter a few moments ago.

"Right, sorry." She grinned. "Let's get started, shall we?"

Everybody stared at her.

"Who are you?" A question came from the guy with glasses who was sitting in the front row.

"Right! I'm the future version of her." The woman pointed at Skye.

Silence.

"What the hell?" Skye asked what everybody was really thinking.

"The future is not really a nice place to be." Future Skye shrugged. "So, I worked with a couple of friends, made a TV show of my and my friends' lives, time traveled back in time, brought you all here because you are all in my TV show, which I want to show to you all, so you could change the future..."

Silence again.

"Bloody hell." The Hunter guy muttered again.

Everybody seemed to agree with him.

"So, are you guys in?"

After a few moments of silence people started to agree.

"What do we call you?" Skye asked.

She didn't want stuff to get even more confusing.

"Daisy." Her future self smiled slightly. "You may call me Daisy."

After a few minutes everything was set up and people were introduced to each other, so Daisy turned on the show.

*Chapter 2*: Pilot

"Alright!" Daisy smiled. She pushed a button on her remote again and sat down behind the scowling man with an eyepatch.

After the Marvel comic book flip through that starts each Marvel produced TV or movie we see a landscape of a big city. While we do a sort of fly over we hear a woman's voiceover.

Woman: The secret is out. For decades your organization stayed in the shadows, hiding the truth. But now we know – they're among us.

"By the way, some of the footage technically should not be able to exist, but hey, I needed it to make a good TV show."

The camera zooms in lower into the city and we see people walking on the streets going about their daily lives. The camera zooms up and we can see someone flying overhead, they look to be in a red suit.

Woman: Heroes.

We are show several different cuts, Thor's hand catching the hammer; Cap arm with his shield; then we see the destruction.

Woman: And monsters.

We see a few flash cuts of the aliens from the first Avengers movie as well as The Hulk roaring into the sky.

"Hulk's not a monster." Bobbi muttered quietly. Behind her sat two scientists who agreed with her wholeheartedly.

Woman: The world is full of wonders.

We cut to a young boy looking into a store window; we can see action figures of Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, The Hulk and Hawkeye. The boy walks closer to the window to look at them. Behind him a man pays a hotdog vender.

Man: Thanks, Bernie.

Bernie: You bet.

The man walks to the boy holding hotdogs.

"Is the future really that bad?"

Daisy nearly jumps up in surprise at the female voice next to her. She never noticed the woman move to sit next to her.

"I think it is Agent Hill."

Man: Ace, come and get it.

The boy turns around and takes the hotdog as the man puts his hand on the boys head.

Man: What do you say we go out to your Aunt Mindy's this weekend?

Ace doesn't seem to be paying attention; he turns back to the action figures once he has his food.

Man: You and Kisha can swim in the pond.

Ace: Sure.

The man notices what has the boy's attention and looks at the figures too. He takes a deep breath as he looks at them all.

Man: You know, you've got a birthday coming up in a couple of months. Who's your favorite?

Ace: I'm okay.

Daisy and Skye both watch the scene with identical sad eyes.

This makes the man look uncomfortable. He kneels down to get closer to the boy.

Man: Hey, things are tight right now, but I'm going to find something. Not back at the factory but I got prospects.

The boy looks doubtful but the man keeps optimism on his face.

Man: You and me – what are we?

Ace: We're a team.

Daisy grinned at the line.

The man takes the boys hand and gives it a shake as he laughs.

Man: That's right.

He takes the boy by his shoulder turning him back toward the storefront.

Man: So, who do you –

His words are cut off when a big explosion happens in a building across the street. The man wraps himself around the back of Ace to protect him then looks up at the building. People on the street are screaming and shouting as they run away from falling debris.

Everybody watched the scene with widened eyes. The explosion was so sudden on a normal day.

The man turns Ace back around to face him and looks at him with concern.

Man: Are you okay? All right, Ace, look at me. I need you to stay here with Bernie, okay? People might be hurt and I'm gonna to see if they need my help. Stay with Bernie!

He pushes Ace closer to the hotdog vender Bernie, he puts his arm around Ace protecting him as the man runs off.

Man: Watch my boy!

He runs to the building and pauses for a second looking up and assessing the situation. He runs around the building and again looks up to one of the smoking windows, we can hear a woman's voice.

"An untrained person can make the situation worse." Nick Fury frowned.

Woman: Help me! Help me!

The man looks left then right, then at the wall. He takes a deep breath and punches the bricks. His hand embeds into the wall. He kicks the wall with his right foot making a foot hold as well. Slowly he punches and kicks holes in the wall allowing him to climb up to the window.

"Holy..."

We can hear voices from inside the building telling people to get out and asking if anyone is still in the building.

The man has to make a few big leaps, and make a few more holes along the way, but finally he makes it to the window ledge. He hangs there for a moment coughing at the smoke and putting the hood up on his sweatshirt. He gives a might heave and lands inside the room.

We cut to him walking through fiery hallways, he holds one of his arms in front of his face to block the smoke. He kicks over something that was blocking the door, then we hear a woman speak. This voice is different than the one we heard narrating at the top of the episode, so I will dub her Woman #2(how original, I know)

Woman #2: Help me! Help me!

The man turns toward where the voice is coming from.

Woman #2: Help me! Help me!

The man starts to move closer to where the voice is coming from, only to have pieces of the ceiling cave in causing him to back away.

"That was too close."

Cut to outside, people are standing around looking at the building with shocked faces, a few of them even have their cellphones out and are taking photos and videos. The man appears in a window with a woman in his arms. He jumps just as larger flames erupt behind him. The crowd gasps and screams when he jumps, however, he lands easily with the woman still in his arms. He pants heavily as a woman from the crowd, holding her cellphone up recording, walks closer toward him.

Skye grins slightly at her future self on the screen.

The man gently sets Woman #2down on the road as Cellphone Woman continues to record. The Woman #2coughs as she looks around. Cellphone Woman is watching everything with a very shocked expression on her face. The man stands up from Woman #2and makes eye contact with Cellphone Woman. He pulls his hood lower over his face and runs away, Cellphone Woman takes a few steps toward him looking like she wants to say something, but she doesn't. She looks down to Woman #2and goes over to her to offer help.

We cut over to see Ace standing where his father, Man, left him as we hear the same voiceover voice.

Woman: We can't explain everything we see, but our eyes are open.

"The world's too darn confusing."

Maria Hill snorted at Daisy's words.

The Man is making his way through the crowd back toward his son. He is no longer wearing his hoodie, now he's wearing just the plaid shirt that he had one under it.

Woman: So, what now?

The man reaches his son and takes his arm leading him away.

Woman: There are no more shadows for you to hide in. Something impossible just happened. What are you going to do about it?

Title Sequence.

We next see three black SUVs racing down the street. When they stop we can see the SHIELD emblem on the doors of the vehicles. A man gets out of one of the SUVs and pulls a walkie-talkie to his mouth. Since he got out of a SHIELD vehicle, I'm just going to use the basic Agent #1(I'm sure there will be more unnamed Agents in this episode.)

Words scroll across the bottom of the screen: Paris, France.

"Well, that's definitely S.H.I.E.L.D." The Director of the said organization said.

Agent #1: Agent Ward, there's been a development. It's the Rising Tide.

Daisy frowned slightly.

"Yeah, by the way don't judge my past self too harshly, okay?"

"Why would we do that?" Coulson asked. Sometime during the episode he moved closer to the center of the room too.

"Uh, we were Rising Tide?"

As Agent #1speaks we cut to see a motorcycle going down a street, we hear the man still speaking over the walkie-talkie.

Agent #1: They've pinned down the location of the package. We need to abort.

The man on the motorcycle, obviously Agent Ward, speaks, he sounds put out.

Agent Ward: I'm five minutes away from retrieving it.

Agent #1: So is everyone else. They posted the coordinates online.

Skye frowned. Usually Rising Tide posted only insignificant information.

Ward: If there job were easy…

Agent #1: Yeah, it wouldn't be any fun.

Ward has parked his bike and takes off his helmet.

Agent #1: Watch your six.

We can hear a siren wailing as Ward makes his way to a café. He takes a serving tray out of his jacket and walks inside the building. He walks out from the kitchen area still holding his tray. We can still hear Agent #1's voice.

Agent #1: Red tie, by the window.

Ward walks over to the man and speaks to him in French.

Ward: May I take your glass, sir?

The man allows him to then quietly talks with his companion as Ward walks away. We next see him walking up some stairs with the glass on his tray. Under the glass is some sort of cloth that has a grid inside it. He takes a hold of the stem of the glass and runs the bowl of the glass along the grid part of the cloth, we can see the fingerprints from the glass transferred over to the cloth. There is a beep and Ward walks off camera.

Cut to inside someone's kitchen, we can hear a woman singing in French. We pan past the kitchen into the hallway. The door quietly opens and Ward sneaks in. He walks deeper into the house, entering the living room and looks around. He stops in front of the fireplace and turns something on his tray making it glow. The tray has now become some sort of x-ray machine, Ward is able to look through the walls with it. He stops when he sees a safe hiding behind a painting. He takes the painting off the wall and presses numbers into the safe. He then takes the cloth with the fingerprints and places it against the fingerprint screen on the safe. He looks around as the music is louder, behind him the fireplace moves upward exposing a small room behind. The lights flicker then stay on and Ward enters the room. We can see steel briefcases and stacks of money. Among the money is a small black pouch. Ward ignores everything else and plucks up the bag. He starts to exit the room but stops when he looks up. Standing there is a lovely blonde woman wearing a bathrobe with her bra exposed and holding a wooden spoon.

Ward: Your fireplace is broken.

Agent May fought the urge to facepalm.

The woman lowers her arms in anger. We hear a door close and a man speaking in French. Ward quickly picks up the tray and throws it like a Frisbee at the first thug through the door taking him down, then he fights with the second thug behind the first. Ward is able to disarm the second thug as the first recovers. The woman gets a disgusted look on her face and turns away and goes back into the kitchen. Thug one takes Ward down to the floor, they are both under the trap door for the secret room when it starts to descend. They both scramble out of the way.

Agent #1: Ward, just a heads up: We've got possible hostiles in your vicinity.

"Freaking really?"

Right at this moment Ward is being choked by one of the "hostiles".

Ward: Really?

The smile suddenly slid off Daisy's face.

He falls backwards into the couch knocking the thug off him.

We see the woman, now wearing a coat, walking down the hallway. She throws a look into the room, rolls her eyes, and continues walking.

We see that Ward is a resourceful fighter, using the blender and a kitchen drawer to attack and ward off attacks. Finally both men are knocked out cold and Ward makes his exit.

Cut to a helicopter in the sky, we pan down to see Ward climbing up a fire escape stairwell to the top of the building. He looks in the direction of the helicopter and when a rope appears he grabs a hold of it and hangs there.

"Okay, that is terrifying."

Cut to inside a small room. Ward is dressed in a suit and sitting at a table as a woman questions him. Ward looks bored.

Woman: What does S.H.I.E.L.D. stand for, Agent Ward?

Deputy Director Hill stared at the screen in surprise.

Ward: Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division.

"Bit of a mouthful." Simmons smiled.

Woman: And what does that mean to you?

Ward: It means someone really wanted our initials to spell out shield.

The man with blonde hair and blue eyes snorted in amusement.

Daisy blinked. It wasn't really the Lincoln Campbell she knew, but she was still sad as she looked at him.

He wouldn't die this time.

The camera cuts over to see the woman he is talking to is none other than Maria Hill, she does not look amused by his joke.

Heads were turned to look at the woman who sat next to the time traveler.

Ward: It means we're the line, between the world…and the much weirder world. We protect people from the news they aren't ready to hear. And, when we can't do that, we keep them safe.

Skye wanted to believe that... But she didn't know if she could.

This gets a slight reaction from Hill. Ward takes something out of his inside coat pocket as he continues to speak.

Ward: Something turns up…

We see he pulled out the small black bag from his earlier job and takes some sort of alien artifact out of it.

Ward: Like this Chitauri neural link…

He slides it across the desk to Hill. The words at the bottom of the screen read: Agent Hill's office; Location: Classified.

"Yeah, and most locations are gonna be classified."

Ward: We get to it before someone bad does.

Hill picks up the artifact, looks at it a moment then stands holding it.

Hill: Any idea who Vanchat was planning to sell it to?

Fury wrote down the name on the notepad that was lying in the seat next to him.

We see another man standing in the room holding a case. When Hill gets close he opens the case and she carefully puts the artifact into it.

Ward: I'm more interested in how this Rising Tide group found out about it.

The man gives Hill a nod, closes the case and walks out of the room as she turns to look at Ward again.

Ward: I thought they were just hackers. What changed?

Hill: Everything's changing.

"How bad?" Hill asked quietly.

"Not always too horrible, but always weird." Was the vague answer Daisy gave.

While she speaks she circles around Ward to stop at the opposite side of him.

Hill: A little while ago, most people went to bed thinking that the craziest thing in the world was a billionaire in a flying metal suit. Then aliens invaded New York and were beaten back by, among others, a giant green monster, a costumed hero from the 40s, and a God.

"And that is just the begining of the weirdness." Daisy snorted.

Maria Hill and Nick Fury both seemed disturbed by that.

Ward: I don't think Thor's technically a god.

Hill looks away, almost lost in thought.

Hill: Well, you haven't been near his arms. Look, the battle of New York was the end of the world. This – now – is the new world.

"That is both inspirational and horrifying." Fitz muttered. Simmons nodded in agreement.

Hill: People are different. They have access to tech, to formulas, secrets they're not ready for.

Ward leans forward, obviously trying to figure out why she's tell him things he knows.

Ward: Why was I pulled out of Paris?

Hill: That you'll have to ask Agent Coulson.

Phil blinked in surprise. His clearance level was in no was greater than hers.

So what could he tell that agent that she couldn't?

She takes a few steps away from him and crosses her arms as he looks even more confused.

Ward: Uh, yeah, I'm clearance level 6. I know that…Agent Coulson was killed in action. Before the Battle of New York.

We pan over to a very dark corner and see movement there.

Ward: Got the full report.

The person comes out of the shadows and it's none other than Agent Phil Coulson.

Coulson: Welcome to level 7.

"...What?" Glenn Talbot asked.

Ward stands looking utterly confused. Coulson gets a sly smile.

Coulson: Sorry, that corner was really dark and I couldn't help myself.

Melinda May's lips quirked up.

Coulson is smiling as Ward looks even more confused and gives a look to Hill.

Coulson: I think there's a bulb is out.

Fury groaned a bit.

Cut to outside, a bus pulls up to a curb and opens the doors. We see the man from earlier, the one with the son, walking down the street studying a newspaper. As he passes by the cellphone woman from earlier leans back and watches him pass. When he get a little past her she gets up from her seat and begins to follow him.

*cough* "Stalker." *cough*

Cut back to Coulson, Ward and Hill. An elevator opens and they walk out.

Ward: Director Fury faked your death, to motivate the Avengers.

"A dick move by the way."

Fury glared at Daisy.

She didn't seem to notice.

Hill: The death of a common ally is a particularly effective team builder.

They stop in front of a sealed door and turn towards a wall. A female computer voice speaks.

Computer: Say "cheese".

"Huh?"

We see the badges of Coulson, Hill and Ward flash on the screen and the door unlocks.

Coulson: Plus, it wasn't that much of a stretch. I stopped breathing for about 40 seconds.

"He's going to find out by the way."

Fury and Hill frowned as Coulson stared at Daisy cluelessly.

"Who's going to find out what?"

The men hold each door open as Hill passes through, then they enter.

Hill: Eight. It gets longer every time you tell it.

Coulson: Yeah, well you get shanked by the Asgardian Mussolini, you can tell it your way.

Bobbie raised an eyesbrow.

They have entered some sort of reception area.

Coulson: I was looking at the big white light and it felt like a lot longer than 8 seconds.

Daisy scowled a bit.

Coulson and Ward both get badges that they clip to their jackets. Once they do they all begin to walk again.

Ward: Do they know? The Avengers, that Fury played them?

Hill: They're not level 7.

"What? Aren't some of the are?"

"...That's classified."

Coulson: I got out of the I.C.U., Fury stuck me in a grass shack in Tahiti. Rough gig. Mai tais, Travis McGee novels and a physical therapist whose command of English was…irrelevant.

They enter a room filled with computer and monitors.

Ward: But something put you back in the game.

Something beeps when they enter the room and a video is played on one of the screens. It's the footage the Cellphone Woman took of the Man jumping out of the building.

Ward: What's that?

Coulson: That's a superhero, Agent Ward.

May snorted quietly.

Hill: An unregistered gifted. Identity unknown.

"Michael Peterson." Daisy provided for Fury who was playing with a pen.

We hear a few more beeps and the woman who did the voiceover at the top of the episode is speaking again.

Woman: Your secret is out. For decades your organization…

Her voice is drown out by other voices and different clips playing on the screens.

Coulson: Another little present from the Rising Tide.

Skye grinned a little.

Ward: How are they getting this stuff before us?

Coulson: Same way they cracked our RSA implementation.

Skye tried not to laugh out loud.

Hill shoots him a look.

Coulson: They're good. So I need better.

Hill: Agent Coulson has requisitioned a mobile command unit, to which you are assigned.

Coulson: Rising Tide is trying to draw us out. I think it's time they succeeded.

Coulson and Skye both seemed surprised by this.

Ward is nodding his head, thinking he understands where this is going. Coulson has walked around the desk and picked up a binder.

Ward: You want me to cross them off?

SKye bit her lip. Not in surprise, but in worry.

Coulson looks shocked.

Coulson: Wow. No.

He looks over to Hill, she raises her eyebrows and looks down.

Coulson: I want to use them to get to him.

He nods toward the screen where the Man's picture is still visible.

She frowns.

Coulson: This man's world is about to get very weird. He's gonna need some help.

Ward looks at the screen then to Hill.

Ward: I'm sorry, I was trained from day one as a specialist. I go in alone, I get it done. Defusing a nuclear bomb – I'm your guy.

He looks to Coulson.

Ward: A welcoming committee? Not my speed.

Coulson opens the binder.

Coulson: I know it's not what you want. Agent Hill did a very detailed assessment of your last three missions. Combat – top grades. Espionage – she gave you the highest marks since Romanoff.

Hill and Ward share a look then his attention goes back to Coulson.

Coulson: Under "people skills" she drew a – I think it's a little poop.

Daisy laughs.

"Accurate."

He turns the binder and holds it up a bit higher for Ward to see. His eyes draw down in confusion and he steps closer to look at the drawing.

Coulson: With knives sticking out of it.

Daisy is shaking with laughter, even though she supposedly made the TV show.

Hill holds up one of her hands.

Hill: What?

Coulson: That's bad, right? And given your family history, I'm surprised it's not worse.

Coulson doesn't seem to notice that Ward's jaw clenches when he mentions Ward's family history. But…

He closes the binder and holds it to his chest again.

Coulson: I think you're the guy for this.

"I don't." May states bluntly.

Coulson: If I'm wrong, you go straight back to your bombs.

An older man walks into the room wearing a lab coat.

Older Man: Teams approved. Physicals are all fine.

He is holding some file folders which he gives to Hill.

Older Man: Fitz-Simmons is not cleared for combat. I'm told that won't be an issue. Agent Ward here, he's almost too fit.

Both Fitz and Simmons had their jaws practically on the floor.

Ward takes a step forward.

Ward: That's an issue. That should be an issue. Maybe I can't join the team. Because my –

His words are cut off by Hill.

Hill: God, you are dismissed.

Ward walks out of the room while Coulson smirks at her.

Hill: It was a porcupine, it was not a poop.

"Even more accurate then!" Daisy grins.

Agent Hill rolls her eyes with smile.

Coulson looks confused and opens the binder again.

Hill: It just means that he –

This time Coulson cuts her off.

Coulson: No, I'm pretty sure.

Hill is not amused.

Coulson looks amused.

Hill: And it's not just Ward, your whole roster is sketchy.

Coulson: Well, they're cleared.

Older Man: I would've been very happy not to clear you, Phil. I'd love for you to rest up some more.

Coulson: I've had plenty of that, thanks.

Hill steps closer to him.

Hill: You sure?

Hill and Fury both stare at Daisy. She gave them a slight nod.

Coulson: You should go sometime.

Hill: Where?

Coulson: Tahiti. It's a magical place.

Daisy closed her eyes for a moment.

"It's not. It really is not." She mouthed to Couson, which left him even more confused.

She gives him a soft laugh.

Hill: Three days in and I'd be begging for an assignment.

Coulson: Exactly.

He gives her a smile and walks out of the room as the Older Man steps closer to Hill.

Older Man: Tahiti. He really doesn't know, does he?

Hill looks down as if she's feeling guilt.

Hill: He can never know.

"Uh, what?" Coulson stared at the screen stupefied.

Hill walks away as the Older Man watches her go.

Open inside a diner. The superhero man from earlier is sitting in a booth drinking coffee and watching the news. The report has a runner at the bottom that says "who is the hooded hero". Thy are talking to the woman that he saved in the building.

Woman: Is there any way I can thank him? Are you sure, nobody saw him?

The Man gets a smile as he looks down at the paper on the table in front of him. We can hear the news reporter's voice from the TV.

Reporter: So, the identity of the hooded hero still remains unknown.

"Good."

We see that he has been looking at the classified section of the newspaper. Some jobs are circled while others are crossed out. He looks up when he sees someone slide into the booth with him. It is the Cellphone Woman who has been following him. She looks around as he looks up at her.

Cellphone Woman: Just act natural.

Man: What?

Cellphone Woman: Just, pretend that we're talking.

His confusion only grows.

Man: We are.

Bobbi laughs.

Cellphone Woman: Good, cause you never know who's listening.

She acting shifty and nervous this makes the man more confused.

Man: I don't even know who's talking.

She gives him a big smile.

Cellphone Woman: I'm Skye. And you're the hooded hero.

"How in the world?"

The Man looks away and down.

Skye: Please tell me that you're not staying with that name.

Man: Wait, what? I'm not – I'm a factory worker.

Skye has taken three packets of sugar out of the holder and sets them flat on the table. She scoffs at his assertion.

Skye: Sure, by day.

She is still giving him a big smile.

Skye: I saw you. You're a hero. Like, a for real superhero – which is – I'm not, a groupie, stalker type, but…

Hunter snorts.

"What?" Daisy smirked. "In the future I have groupies, and I'm NOT one!"

"What?" Skye choked out.

She begins to giggle with delight.

Skye: Oh my God, that is so cool! Okay, okay, chill.

Daisy groaned in embarassment.

She takes a second to compose herself again.

Skye: Just don't, don't draw attention.

She takes a deep breath and sighs.

Skye: You're in danger.

Man: You got the wrong guy, lady.

Skye: No, you've got the wrong approach. The cute girl from the hospital is dying to thank you, and possibly "thank" you.

She places heavy inflection on the second "thank" you as a innuendo for sex .

Skye: And you're hiding. The clip of you rescuing her has had the most hits since that puppy with vertigo, and you can't even find a job.

The Man looks down at his crossed and circled classified ads and sighs. He sits back in his seat and looks at her.

Man: What do you mean about danger?

Skye: S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Say what?" Fury glared at Daisy.

"I didn't really know much about S.H.I.E.L.D. back then. Sorry 'bout that."

Man: Shield what? I should carry a shield?

Daisy snickered as she remembered Coulson's shield.

Skye: S.H.I.E.L.D. Government. Scary men in dark suits who come after guys like you. They knew about the Battle of New York before it even happened. And then cleaned it up before anyone could ask real questions – overnight. How long do you think it'll take for them to clean you up?

"No wonder you didn't ike us." Coulson muttered.

Man: And you want to know why I'm hiding.

Skye: What if you didn't hide? What if you got in front of this and let people know that you're a hero?

Man: I'm just a guy.

"That's what everybody says."

Skye: Why, a guy like that gets work, gets perks.

She starts playing with her sugar packets, moving them around.

Skye: I can help. I'm great with computers – like weirdly great. I mean, I could help you create a whole new identity or…

Coulson and FitzSimmons give Skye contemplative looks.

"I give her a week." Fitz whispered.

"To get into S.H.I.E.L.D?" Simmons clarified. Fitz nodded.

" I say it's less than a week."

Her eyes get wide and she gasps in delight.

Skye: A mask.

The man grabs his paper and prepares to leave the table.

Man: O-okay.

He gets up and Skye scrambles out of the booth to follow him.

Skye: Well, you could just – also we could just stick with the…

She quickly gets around him standing close by his side.

Skye: Hood. Listen, you cannot walk away from this. With great power comes…a ton of weird crap that you are not prepared to deal with. Now, my office is –

"You have an office?" Hunter asked Skye, who never even noticed that he and Bobbi moved to sit behind her.

"Well..."

Man: You have an office?

She looks offended.

Skye: Yes, I have an office.

The look of offence drops from her face.

Skye: It's a mobile…office. It's a…van. I live in a van – by choice! But, it's always in the alley around the corner, free Wi-Fi and you can come by anytime.

"Convenient."

Man: Thank you.

He gives her a slight bow then walks away. Skye gives him a big smile and waves cheerily to him.

Skye: They're coming for you.

"You're crepping him out Skye." Isabelle Hartley snorted.

Skye nodded.

He shoots her a look but continues out of the bar. She lifts something up and looks at it, it's Man's driver's license. We now can call him something other than man: Michael Peterson.

Skye:…Mike.

"Um, when did you do that?"

She leaves the bar too.

Cut to inside an office. We see three stacks of papers set up side by side. Someone is assembling them into some sort of memo then stapling them together. It's a Level 3 S.H.I.E.L.D. Technical Memorandum. The camera pans out then zooms in to show us a woman sitting at her desk assembling the memos. She stops her work when she hears Coulson's voice.

Coulson: Agent May.

"Oh no." May groaned.

May: No.

We see Coulson and he has a smile at her denial.

Daisy smiled too.

Coulson: So, you've been briefed.

He walks so that he is standing next to her cubical staring down at her.

May: I'm not going back in the field.

Coulson: Yeah, you got such a nice setup here. Ever thought about adding a moat?

"No space for it."

She shoots him a glare.

Coulson: I just need you to drive the bus, liaise ground transpo, some on-site supervision. This isn't a combat op.

May walked over and sat close to Coulson and Daisy.

"For how long?"

"Not long at all." Daisy grinned at her S.O.

While he was talking she looked away and continued stapling her paperwork.

May: Then you don't need me.

Coulson: I do.

He walks so that he is now in front of her instead of beside her.

Coulson: Cause we'll be running ourselves. Picking the ops, making the calls.

This gets her attention and she is once again looking at him.

Coulson: No red tape.

A thought occurs to Coulson and he looks around for a second.

Coulson: This is where they actually make the red tape, isn't it? I always wondered.

He's looking around after his joke and May finally cracks a smile.

Coulson: Melinda?

May: You're really just asking me to drive the bus?

May looked more concentrated on the screen.

Coulson: I'm not asking.

He starts to walk away but throws one last line over his shoulder to her.

Coulson: But it's a really nice bus.

"That it was." Daisy sighed. "That it was."

Cut to outside, we round a truck to see a hanger with a large plane waiting inside. People are milling about the plane as other soldiers stand guard. Ward walks to the plane holding a bag. Once inside the hanger he takes off his sunglasses to stare at the plane and he continues to walk to it. He walks to the back of the plane where a ramp is down and people and supplies are being loaded. We see a young woman standing at the top of the ramp gathering things. A young man walks up behind her as she picks something up, he get worried.

"And you two are?" Skye asked as she didn't catch their names in the introduction.

"Leo Fitz." The guy smiled.

"Jemma Simmons." The girl nodded in Skye direction.

"Nice to meet ya."

Young Man: Whoa, whoa, whoa, watch it!

He rushes to the Young Woman and grabs the device out of her hands.

Young Man: That's the Night-Night Gun.

Jemma Simmons rolled her eyes.

We hear that the Young Man has a Scottish accent, when Young Woman answers him we hear she has a British accent.

Young Woman: Well it's on my stuff, and it doesn't work, and there's no way we're calling it the Night-Night Gun.

"You did."

"Did what?"

"Call it a Night-Night Gun."

Simmons groaned.

They both walk away from Ward carrying cases and objects taking them into what looks like a lab.

Young Man: The bullets work. Nonlethal, heavy stopping power, break up under the subcutaneous tissue –

Young Woman interrupts him, this is obviously a fight they've had before.

Young Woman: Oh, with a dose of only .1 microliters of Dendrotoxin. I'm not Hermione. I can't create instant paralysis with that.

"Well..." Bobbi contemplated.

The Young Man gets agitated as she continues to talk, they talk over each other.

Young Woman: You should have run the specs by me before building the molds.

Young Man: The bullets are hollow. It's a marvel I can keep them from breaking apart in the chamber.

Young Woman: Or used a higher caliber round or read a book.

Young Man: Have you ever heard of physicist or – uh what's the other one? Inertia.

Young Woman: It's not particularly difficult.

A heavy black bag is dropped on the floor stopping their argument. They look over to find Ward standing in the doorway.

Daisy closed her eyes for a moment.

Ward: Fits-Simmons?

Young Woman points at Young Man.

Young Woman: Fitz.

Fitz points at the Young Woman.

Fitz: Simmons. I'm engineering, she's biochem. Agent Ward?

Ward pulls something out of his jacket and holds it out to them.

Ward: Coulson said I'd need my comm receiver encoded.

Fitz quickly walks over and takes the device from him.

Ward: I don't know if you've worked with that model before. It's –

Fitz cuts off his words by smashing Ward's device with a hammer. We hear a lot of thudding and glass breaking.

Skye snickers at the guy's misfortune on the screen.

"Hey where is Ward?" She asked as she noticed that he was not in the room.

"We were not on the best terms when I decided to do this." Daisy answered.

Ward: Brand new.

Simmons: He'll repurpose the I.D.I.S. chip.

Fitz holds something up between a set of big tweezers.

Fitz: Don't need the external receiver for the inner-ear coms anymore.

Ward fiddles with his ear as Simmons takes his head.

May fought a smile.

Ward: So, uh, how does it –

Now it's Simmons' turn to interrupt him, she grabs his face and shoves some sort of swab into his mouth.

Simmons: Embedded sensorineural silicone matched to your DNA. It's very posh.

"Okay," Skye raised her eyebrows, "I didn't understand half of what you said."

There were a few nods around the room.

She takes the swab out of his mouth closing it up as he makes a face.

Simmons: So, are you excited to be coming on our journey into mystery?

Ward (dryly): It's like Christmas.

Hunter snickered.

She gives him a smile and walks away. We can hear tires squealing behind them, Ward turns to see what's causing it. A shiny bright red Corvette rolls into the plane.

Lola!

Fitz: One of Coulson's old S.H.I.E.L.D. collectables. Flamethrowers, world's first GPS. He's mad for this crap.

"Lola's not crap." That surprisingly came from Daisy and not Coulson. "She saved my life a few times."

Fitz raised an eyebrow.

Coulson gets out of the car closing the door and walking over to them. As he walks another man in an orange vest walks to the car, Coulson's voice goes low in warning.

Coulson: Don't touch Lola.

Coulson mouthed the words along with his screen self.

May looked at him weirdly.

The worker quickly backs away. We pan over to Fitz who has a big smile.

Fitz: And he calls it a girl's name.

"So?"

He chuckles then slaps Ward on his back and walks away.

Cut to Coulson and Ward walking up a spiral staircase.

Coulson: Lola's not just a collectable, you know. People tend to confuse the words "new" and "Improved".

Mack nodded.

They enter the heart of the plane, there's a conference room and sitting area.

Coulson: This is mobile command, they were in heavy rotation back in the 90s, but then we got a heli-carrier. Hey, did you hear the one about the guy who's afraid of flying?

A joke.

Ward: I've done a night jump into a drop zone under heavy fire, sir. I can handle it.

Coulson: That was a…joke. The first part of a…

They've stopped and Coulson looks awkward.

Coulson: I'm not gonna tell it now.

May fought a smile.

We hear May's voice from off screen.

May: If you plan to unpack, make it quick.

She walks into frame looking at Ward.

May: Wheels are up in five.

She turns her attention to Coulson and hands him some papers, Ward has a surprised look on his face and looks at Coulson too.

May: We may have a hit on one of the Rising Tide's routing points.

Skye frowned.

Coulson looks down at the stuff she just gave him.

Coulson: Good, we need to do some catching up.

She nods and walks away as Ward watches her go.

Ward: Is that…who I think it is?

"Yep."

Coulson: She's just the pilot.

Ward: Melinda May is "just the pilot"? Come on, sir. What game are you really playing?

"For once I agree with him." Daisy smiled.

Coulson closes the binder May gave him and looks at Ward's bag.

Coulson: Better stow your gear.

He walks away up some stairs as Ward still looks confused.

We cut to see the ramp closing and an airman leading the plane out of the hanger, May behind the controls.

We once again get the same voice from the earlier voiceover and we can now recognize it, it's Skye's voice. She is once again narrating a voiceover.

Skye Voiceover: How will you come at us?

"Uh-oh."

When the plane exits the hanger we can see S.H.I.E.L.D.s' eagle emblem outlined on it's top.

Skye Voiceover: From the air?

"Definitely." May smiled.

We cut to see a van in an alley, obviously Skye's.

Skye Voiceover: From the ground?

We cut to inside the van, there are many newspaper clippings and other things taped up around the van.

Skye Voiceover: How will you silence us this time? How can you?

Fury frowned.

We cut back to see the plane taking to the air.

Skye Voiceover: The truth is in the wind.

Raina smirked.

Daisy frowned. She still didn't know if bringing her here was the best decision.

We cut back to inside the van. The camera pans over to show us Skye recording her message.

Skye: It's everywhere. You cannot stop the Rising Tide.

Victoria Hand rolled her eyes.

Cut back to Coulson, he looks out the window.

Skye Voiceover: You will not find us. You will never see our faces. But, rest assured, we will rise against those who shields us from the truth. And nothing – nothing – can stop us in the –

The door to her right opens suddenly cutting her off, standing there is a smiling Coulson. Skye takes a breath and looks at them with a smile.

Skye: Hey. What up?

Laughter was all around the room.

Skye was snickering too, despite the situation.

The person with Coulson throws a black bag over Skye's head.

We come back to the plane, it looks like Ward is leading a hand tied and head bagged Skye up into the plane with Coulson following. Coulson turns around and looks behind himself then continues into the plane.

"Okay! That is still a kidnapping, even if I know now that you are the good guys!" Daisy yelled.

Hill frowned while Fury looked away.

Cut to inside a room on the plane. Ward takes off the hood from Skye's head roughly. She no longer has her hands tied, but Ward has her by her elbow. He leads her by her arm to sitting in the chair and we see Coulson is in the room too as he shuts the door. Skye looks at both of them then speaks.

Skye: You guys are making a big mistake.

Ward: You don't look that big.

Daisy clenched her fist, feeling the power beneath her skin.

Skye smooths her hair and composes herself while Ward walks away.

Coulson: Sorry for the lack of finesse. Agent Ward here has had a little history with your group –

Ward gets an annoyed look at this.

Coulson: The Rising Tide.

Skye: I don't know...what you're

"Really?"

Ward: Okay, there are two ways we can do this.

Skye doesn't look intimidated, she gives him a teasing smile while she speaks.

Skye: Oh, is one of them the easy way?

Ward's face shows no levity.

Ward: No.

"Okay then." Skye smiles trying not to show that she's nervous.

Skye's smile falters slightly.

Skye: Oh.

Coulson: What's your name?

She looks at Ward then back to Coulson.

Skye: Skye.

Ward: What's your real name?

"Rude!" Skye frowned.

She shoots him a look but Coulson speaks first.

Coulson: That can wait. It's another name we need, a certain hero.

This hits Skye and she looks away.

Skye: What makes you think I know that?

Coulson: Well, you made a little mistake.

"Did I?" Skye smirked.

He sits in the chair opposite Skye at the table.

Coulson: The phone you filmed the hooded hero with had the same cryptographic signature as a few of the Rising Tide posts.

He picks up a folder while talking and drops it on the table in front of Skye.

Skye: Wow. Yeah. Was that a mistake? Or am I now sitting in the center of your secret headquarters? What is this?

Coulson blinked.

She looks around the small room.

Skye: A plane?

Trip snickered. "She's good."

Ward shoots a look over to Coulson.

Skye: I got inside. And, by now, you've discovered you can't beat the encryption on my equipment, so you got nothing.

Coulson: We have a fairly strong coincidence.

He opens a folder and shows her a picture.

Coulson: You being on the scene right before it went up in flames.

"That's it?"

He drops that folder on top of the other one before her.

We cut to outside and see tires pass in front of the camera as Coulson does a voiceover.

Coulson Voiceover: Want to tell me what my team is gonna find out?

A S.H.I.E.L.D. SUV pulls to a stop and Fitz and Simmons get out. Simmons has a big smile on her face and grips Fitz' shoulders in excitement. May gets out of the driver's side and looks up at the blown out windows. She then looks over at the crumpled ground where Mike landed.

Coulson Voiceover: How did you know the hooded man was in the building?

"I don't think I did."

We cut back inside the small room with Coulson, Ward and Skye.

Ward: Did you blow it up to draw him out?

"What the hell?" Skye blinked.

Skye looks up at him with shock.

Skye: Did you?

"A valid question."

Coulson: That's not our style.

Skye: I was just kidnapped by your "style". S.H.I.E.L.D. covered up New Mexico, Project Pegasus. Of course you'd be covering up centipede.

"Point." Coulson muttered.

"What is Centipede?" Hand asked Daisy figuring she would get more answers out of the older girl, than her younger self.

Daisy just gestured to the screen.

"All will be expained."

There is a brief smirk on Coulson's face as Ward takes a step back out of Skye's eye line. Ward looks at Coulson and moths the word "centipede". Obviously he's not in the loop on this one. Skye catches this and smiles bigger.

Skye: Holy no way.

She laughs.

Skye: You don't know what that is. Billions of dollars of equipment at your disposal and I beat you with a laptop I won in a bet?

Skye laughs out loud, while people around her look at her in shock.

There is no way she is that good, it there?

Coulson: You need to think about your friend. We're not the only ones interested in people with powers. We'd like to contain him, yeah. The next guy will want to exploit him and the guy after that will want to dissect him.

Skye stops smiling.

Ward walks closer to Skye and leans down close to her.

Ward: What is centipede?

"He's blowing the interrogation." May muttered.

Phil agreed.

Cut to Mike, he is sitting staring at a piece of paper, a Notice of Eviction. He sighs and speaks into the phone he's holding. We see Ace sitting not too far away throwing a ball into the air.

Mike: Yeah, I get it, but…

He lowers his voice and turns away from Ace.

Mike: Listen doctor, people saw me. They saw what I can do. If I went public that might be good. I mean, your product works. It works amazingly and…

Product?

He pauses and looks down at his arm. We can see some sort of tech attached to the inside of his forearm. I do have to say, it looks like a centipede. There are at least six yellow gem looking things segmented like a centipede. It looks like the device is implanted into his arm.

Mike: Yeah, yeah, I-I-I know what I signed, but if we got out in front of this, maybe –

He listens for a second.

Mike: Then what? You want me to go crawling back to the factory? I couldn't even get workmen's comp from those crooks. I don't think – Yeah, yeah, doctor, I just thought – okay.

He takes the phone away from his ear and shuts it off. He looks over to the side and we see a picture of him with a woman. He throws the phone and it smashes into the frame breaking the glass.

"Anger issues." Fury noted.

"Paranoia issues." Daisy muttered.

Cut to May, Fitz and Simmons. They are standing inside the charred remains of the room where the explosion went off.

Simmons: This was a lab. Was this leased as a lab?

May: Self-empowerment center.

May chuckles.

May: With a top of the line motion sensor security system.

Simmons: Ah, so a secret lab.

Bobbi hummed. She's been in a fair few of those.

It looks like Simmons is kneeling next to a charred body. I don't think it is, I mean wouldn't that have been removed by now? But it sure does look like a hand sticking up in the air.

May: And a superhero, not a coincidence. So, was this explosion sabotage? Was it meant for him?

Daisy shook her head, confusing many.

May notices what Simmons is doing, taking a sample from whatever she's kneeling next to with a large set of tweezers.

May: Or were they just in over their heads?

Fitz has walked over to join them.

Fitz: Yeah, working the problem. Ladies, if you'll just.

He walks between them then sets down his case and opens it.

May: If you're gonna be in the field, Agent Fitz, you have to get your hands dirty.

Fitz: No, I don't.

He's looking down at some sort of tablet and we hear beeping sound followed by a whirring sound. Small little drone planes fly up around him as he sings the "Off to Work" song from Snow White. He hits a few more buttons and the drones emit some sort of laser grid to map the room.

"Wicked." Skye stared.

Fitz grinned.

We cut back to Coulson, Ward and Skye. Skye is standing and pacing around as Coulson and Ward sit.

Skye: Centipede, it was chatter on the web and then, gone. I traced the access point MAC address to that building.

Ward: What were you after?

Skye: The truth. What are you after?

Ward: World peace. You pseudo-anarchist hacker types love to stir things up.

Skye laughed quietly.

Ward stands and Skye gives him a surprised look at his words.

Ward: But you're never around for the fallout. People keep secrets for a reason, Skye.

Ward is now standing very close to her and towering over her, but to her credit she has not backed down. Instead she puts one of her hands to his chest and pushes him back a step.

Agent 33 snickered.

Skye: Well, just because you're reasonable and…

She pauses and pushes him again.

Skye: Firm…doesn't mean that you're not an evil, faceless government tool bag.

"Too true."

Ward seems to be exasperated.

Ward: Just give us your guy's name.

Skye: He's not my guy!

Coulson: You understand he's in danger.

Skye: Then let me go! Let me talk to him. Me, not the T-1000 here.

She had, of course, motion to Ward with her insult.

Trip snickered.

Ward: You want to be alone with him. Of course.

He turns away from her and looks at Coulson.

Ward: She's a groupie. All this hacking into S.H.I.E.L.D., tracking powers, she might as well be one of those sweaty cosplay girls crowding around Stark Tower.

Skye looks insulted as Coulson stands up.

Skye: What?! I would –

Her face goes from indignant to resigned.

Skye: It was one time.

Daisy slowly slid down her seat, while Skye just covered her face with her hands.

Agent Weaver shook her head, but even she was smiling along with everybody who wasn't laughting.

Coulson has walked to the door and opened it, then he turns and looks behind himself.

Coulson: Ward.

He walks into the hallway with Ward following after closing the door.

Coulson: Is it the girl? She getting under your skin?

Both Skye and Daisy smirk identically.

"Freaking creepy." Fury muttered.

Ward: Sir?

Coulson: Or is it the assignment? Are you so anxious to get out of this that you'd deliberately blow an interrogation?

Ward: Give me a minute alone with her, you'll have your answers.

Daisy was suddenly glad that that didn't happen.

Coulson: She's an asset.

Ward: She is such an a—

What Coulson says sinks in.

Ward: Wait, asset?

"...What?" Skye asked.

Coulson: We don't know anything about her.

While they've been talking Coulson opens a door and takes out a small case. He puts the case on the table.

Coulson: Do you appreciate how often that happens? That never happens. We need what she knows.

"What?" Skye asked again, not getting an answer.

Coulson opens the case and we see some sort of tech gun sitting inside.

Cut to the bombed out building. Fitz is holding onto a big pad flying his drones around the room taking video while Simmons and May talk.

Simmons: See, we designed each with their own capabilities, so, um, some recording the dimensions and texture of the rooms and then some are testing the matter density, radiation. I mean, one is basically just smelling.

Fitz sees something on his giant tablet and calls out.

Fitz: Whoa, whoa, whoa. I've got something in something.

The camera flips to the view of one of the drones. The description at the top says "04 bashful".

"Snow White and the seven dwarfs?" Skye muttered. "Watch Once Upon a Time." She told Fitz.

Simmons: Who's got it?

Fitz turns around and points.

Fitz: Uh, bashful.

May walks over to where the drone is moving things around. She finds a black cylinder and picks it up.

May: Surveillance camera. Deep fried.

Fitz: Yes, but that model has flash memory in case of brownouts. Now, I could sync that data from the motion detectors and, with a little luck, get some images from before the blast. And by "luck" I mean "unappreciated genius".

Simmons patted his shoulder distractedly.

May gives him a smirk as Simmons walks closer to them.

Simmons: Yeah, we'll need it. Snow's reading some compounds that are – whoa. My God.

She walks over to another section of the room and looks down then bends down.

May: Explosive?

Simmons finds something on the floor and picks it up.

Simmons: Not of this earth.

Cut back to inside the small room on the plane. Coulson holds up a tiny vial of green liquid before Skye.

Coulson: This is QNB-T16. It's the top shelf martini of sodium pentothal derivatives.

Daisy raised an eyebrow on Coulson.

So did Bobbi and Jemma.

Coulson places the vial inside the gun we saw earlier. Skye shifts in her seat but Ward has his hand on her shoulder restraining her.

Coulson: It's a brand new and extremely potent truth drug. Don't worry. The effects only last about an hour.

Ward releases her and walks to stand next to Coulson.

Ward: And you'll have a nice little nap. And we'll have all the answers to our – Hey!

Coulson has turned toward Ward and shot him with the drug instead of Skye.

Agent Hill sat up more straight in surprise. A grin appeared on her face when she realized what's going on.

Fury however only scowled.

Ward: What the hell?!

Coulson: I'm sorry, did that hurt?

Ward takes his hand away from the place in his arm where he was shot putting on bravado.

Ward: No. But you've lost your mind. You should never do that to a member of your team. And yes, it did hurt a little bit. But I always try to mask my pain in front of beautiful women.

He shoots Skye a look as her eyebrows raise in surprise.

Skye was wearing the same expression as everyone around her was guffawing with laughter.

Ward: Because I think it makes me seem more masculine. My God, this stuff works fast!

May covered her face to hide the smirk.

He looks down at his arm realizing that he's under the influence of the truth drug. He sits down in the vacant chair.

Coulson: Don't trust us? Ask him whatever you'd like.

"The hell Agent?" Fury scowled at Coulson was just smiling like nothing's happening.

Coulson starts to move toward the door.

Ward: Wait a minute. Wait, you can't just – this is definitely not protocol!

"No. No, it's not." The Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. agreed.

Coulson shuts the door in Ward's face. Skye cocks her head looking at Ward. She slowly takes her coat off. Ward's eyes glance down for a moment then focus on her eyes.

Skye: You seem nervous, Agent Ward.

Ward: I'm calling to mind my training.

Doubt it's going to help.

Skye stands up.

Ward: There's no way I'm going to reveal classified secrets to a girl who's hell bent on taking us down.

Skye hummed with a smirk.

Skye is now standing right next to Ward and leans down a bit putting her hands on the table.

Skye: Have you ever killed anyone?

"Probably shouldn't have asked that one." Skye frowned.

Ward: Yes, a few.

He closes his eyes in frustration.

Ward: High risk targets. But they were terrible people who were trying to murder nice people. And I didn't feel good afterwards.

"Oversimplifications."

Skye: And does your grandmother know about these things?

Ward's face goes sad and he looks up at Skye, when he speaks his voice sounds like that of a child.

Ward: Gramzy?

"Oh my god!" Hunter groans in laughter.

Cut to inside what looks like a factory. Mike is walking behind another man who is talking to him.

Man: My hands are tied, Mike. It's company policy. You didn't meet quota, I had to let you go.

Mike hurries his steps to walk beside the guy who stops to talk to him.

Mike: Gary, look, I got no choice. It's just me and my boy now.

Gary: There's no openings, Mike. And even if there were I got a hundred guys standing in line that are just like you, only they won't bitch when they hurt back hurts.

Luther Banks scowled.

Mike: I was injured, but I'm stronger now. I can handle twice the load I used to.

Gary: What are you not hearing? You don't cut it.

Mike's face gets angry.

Crap.

Gary: When I say I need things moved I need –

Mike angrily shoves a large crate sending it flying into a wall where sparks erupt.

Mike: Like that?

"Holy shit!" Agent Piper stared at the screen in shock.

Gary: Are you out of your mind?!

Mike puts his hand on Gary's face and gives him a hard shove causing him to land on a pile of metal tubing. He's pretty busted up and bleeding from the head.

Mike: These are people, Gary. Men! Not parts you replace when they break.

Mike grabs a gas container, it sprays when he rips it from wherever it was housed.

Good God...

Gary: It's not me, man. It's the company. I'm not the bad guy. I'm not the bad guy, man.

Mike is looking at him and seems to get some sort of realization.

Mike: Yes, you are. It's simple now, just like we used to read about. You're the bad guy.

"What?" Skye whispered. She seemed to be close to tears.

Gary has regained some of his composure and is now trying to move himself away from Mike.

Mike: And I'm the hero.

Mike lifts the gas canister high and brings it down heavily.

Skye gulps.

We open back with The Bus. Cut inside to show the security camera footage from the room where Skye was held. We see Ward is asleep face down on the table. When we pan away from the feed we see Coulson leaning over a lit table staring down at it as Skye walks into the room.

Coulson: Did Agent Ward give you anything?

Skye: He told me he's been to Paris, but never really seen it and that he wishes you had stayed in Tahiti.

May fought a smile.

Coulson: It's a magical place.

Daisy scowls.

Skye: Ward doesn't like your style.

Skye looks around the room with a smile.

Skye: I kinda think I do.

Skye nods with a tiny smile.

Coulson: What about his?

He sweeps his hand along the table and a feed from a news report is shown on one of the TV screens.

Reporter:…Remains in critical condition. Employees could not identify the attacker, but security footage confirms that this man assaulted the factory foreman before damaging thousands of dollars' worth of company property.

When she says "security footage" that footage is shown on the TV, it shows Mike looking angry as he grabs the gas canister. Skye looks on with a worried face.

Skye: This is wrong. This is not…the guy I met…he was…He just needs a break.

Skye is not so sure this time. She frowns at the screen.

Coulson: Then give him one. What have you got?

Skye looks from Coulson to the screen then back to Coulson again. We next see Mike's drivers' license being put on a lit table. A scan of the license happens and various information spread out on the table, almost like a giant touch screen computer that his horizontal instead of vertical. Fitz, Simmons and May are all around the table looking at the information with Skye standing toward the back.

FitzSimmons smile at Skye, while she thinks about the 'Hooded Hero'.

Coulson: Mike Peterson, factor worker, married, one kid. Gets injured, gets laid off. Wife jumps ship. Good guy, bad breaks.

When Coulson gets close to the table Skye moves up as well to stand between him and May.

Coulson: Best guess is, somebody tells him they can make him strong again, make him super.

Coulson nodded in agreement.

May: Who has the tech to do that? And why would they want to?

Coulson: Fitz, what do we have from the security footage before the blast?

Fitz touches some controls and fees a grainy looking image to one of the TV screens behind them.

May: What are we seeing?

What we appear to see is two men arguing. Or at least one angry man, he's pointing his finger at the other man, it looks threatening.

Fitz: Well the man is angry at the other man.

Everyone stares at Fitz for a second while he didn't seem to notice.

They all shoot a "no kidding, really?" look at Fitz, who seems to ignore it. Simmons tries to explain.

Simmons: The data is very corrupt.

Fitz: Yeah, like cold war Russia corrupt.

Simmons: Yeah.

Fitz: I can't sync the timecode without –

Skye cuts him off.

Skye: What if you had the audio?

"What?"

Fitz turns to fully look at her, possibly for the first time.

Skye: I was running surveillance on the lab. I had my shotgun mike pointed at the window before the blast. The digital file's in my van. There's too much background noise for me, but you could probably –

"Oh." Skye finally understood.

This time Simmons interrupts Skye.

Simmons: You can clean that up, can't you? Find a sync point and use cross field validation, to find –

Fitz: But I can't scrub for expression patterns when the Vit-C is all –

Simmons: Well, is there a chrominance subcarrier?

While they speak their own language Skye and May watch confused.

Most people in the movie room wear the same confused expressions that Skye and May wear on the screen.

Fitz: Yeah, attached to the back porch, brilliant.

Fitz and Simmons both speak over each other to Skye:

Fitz: Um, that audio would be great. Thank you, very much.

Simmons: We will take that audio, please.

FitzSimmons grin at Skye.

Coulson: Your van's here, but you were right, we couldn't decrypt the files.

Skye smirks.

Skye: The encryptions coupled to the GPS. Get my van back to that alley and then I'm in business.

Skye starts out of the room.

Coulson: Agent May will escort you.

Daisy grins at May who seems as stoic as ever.

May follows after but Coulson stops her at the door.

Coulson: And on your way out, wake up Ward.

Trip snickered.

May nods and exits as Coulson turns to stare at the screens.

Cut to inside a hospital, a woman lies in the bed as a nurse attends to her. Some appears at the door holding flowers. The door opens and Mike enters the room, the woman sits up higher.

Woman: You – you're…Oh wow, you're him.

May rolled her eyes.

He gives her a smile and walks further into the room holding the flowers out to her as the nurse walks out.

Mike: I'm glad you're doing okay.

Woman: Oh, yeah.

"Awkward!" Somebody sang out loud.

She takes the flowers from him, just staring at him.

Woman: Thank you, they're beautiful.

Once the door closes behind the nurse she looks at him more seriously.

Woman: What the hell are you doing here?

"Wha?"

Mike: I don't know where to go, doctor. Everything's getting…I – I know what's right, I do. But no one will listen to me. I volunteered because you said things would change.

"Ooh!" Bobbi's eyes widened. "She's Centipede!"

Daisy gave her a tiny nod.

She quickly gets out of bed.

Woman: And you said you could keep it together. Our first subject lost it, walked into the lab with a fricking bomb.

No he didn't.

Mike: I'm not like him.

You're not Mike.

Woman: Well, tell that to your foreman, in the I.C.U.

He grips her shoulder pulling her in close.

Mike: I saved you.

She roughly pulls her arm away.

Woman: You exposed me!

Fury raised an eyebrow.

She sighs and walks around him to look out the door.

Woman: You exposed the program.

"Oh!" More people around the room started to realize what Bobbi realized.

She turns to face him again.

Woman: The people who gave me this technology, they are very serious and they do not want to be revealed. Mike Peterson, needs to disappear.

Mike: You're right. I'm not him anymore.

I probably shouldn't have told him I could give him a new identity.

He walks to stand closer to her.

Mike: I'm someone else now.

Woman: Oh, please. You're juiced, Mike.

There were a few nods around the room.

He walks away from her and she follows.

Woman: And you're losing it, just like the last guy. This is a disaster.

Raina scowled.

So Project Centipede is a failure.

Mike has walked to the open window and stands there, then turns to look at her.

Mike. No. It's an origin story.

With that, he jumps.

"He lost it."

"For a while, yeah." Daisy agreed with her past self.

Cut to the alleyway where Skye's van sits. We cut to inside and Skye is flipping switches while she talks on her cell phone.

Skye: Audio file should be coming though. It's not compressed so it might take a minute.

Cut to Fitz still inside The Bus and on his cell phone. We hear a beeping sounds from off to his side.

Fitz: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm getting it.

Fitz runs over to one of the computer terminal and punches some buttons.

Fitz: So, uh, when – when you get back, I'll show you my thing.

Eyes widen around the room.

He immediately regrets his choice of words and stammers to correct himself.

Fitz: A thing, it's not…it's my hardware.

That sounds worse.

Davis sniggers.

Fitz: My equipment.

Not any better Fitz.

Snickers were heard everywher in the movie room.

Fitz: Let's…hang up.

He takes the ear piece out throwing it down.

Skye takes the phone away from her ear, gives it a confused look and ends the call.

Daisy smirked at her past self who looked a bit weirded out.

Cut back inside The Bus. Fitz walks by the camera to reveal Coulson and Simmons talking. She has on her lab coat and Coulson stands behind her. Simmons has a drill in her hand and is using it on the piece of metal they found in the explosion.

Coulson: So the alien metal wasn't the explosive?

Simmons: Well, I assumed from the break pattern and dispersion that it was, but, it's just dripping with gamma radiation –

Simmons frowns

Something literally drips out of the metal, a thick yellow substance and Simmons exclaims in surprise.

Simmons: Oh! Now it's actually dripping.

"Uh, why is it suddenly dripping?"

Simmons shrugged.

She laughs and looks at Coulson for a moment before going back to work.

Simmons: Fun!

"...You're odd." Skye said. "In the best possible way."

Fitz nods in agreement while staring at Simmons.

A very angry looking Ward enters the room to confront Coulson, he is now in a T-shirt and jeans as opposed to the suit he was wearing.

Ward: So, what did that get us?

"He gives Grumpy cat a run for his money."

Fitz walks in front of Ward and speaks, even though Ward wasn't talking to him.

Fitz: Skye's sending us the rest of her decrypted files on centipede. But we have her audio. I've loaded it up.

"Good." Coulson nods.

Ward hadn't taken his eyes off Coulson until Fitz says it's loaded, he follows after him.

Coulson: Nice work.

Ward tenses and turns to look at Coulson, obviously still extremely upset about getting drugged against his knowledge, Coulson smirks at him. Fitz remains oblivious as to the tension.

Skye laughs.

"Why did I miss all the funny moments?" Daisy whined.

Fitz: Now, using motion estimation, Bayesian Inference, a beam splitter and a little defraction theory, our mystery man…appears.

While he was talking he has taken some sort of device into his hands. He walks to the metal staircase going up a few steps then turns the device into the empty portion of the room. He flips something and a grainy looking hologram appears before them all. We now see the same image, of the angry man talking to the other man, but it's in 3D as opposed to 1D.

Cool.

Fitz: It's like magic. But it's – it's science.

"Those two are opposites Fitz." Simmons groaned.

He says this in a way that's meant to calm the guys, as if it could have been magic for all they knew.

Ward has stepped closer to the hologram looking it over.

Ward: Explosives in the case?

The hologram starts to move when synced with the audio.

"Nice."

Hologram Science Man: …please clam down. Just let me check your vitals.

Angry Man: I feel fine. I want to feel more. Where's the doctor? Where is she?

He is getting more and more agitated as he speaks as the Science Man tries to calm him.

Science Man: I-If you don't settle down I'll have you sedated.

"Not helping yourself there."

Angry Man has picked up a chair and slams it down with his next question.

Angry Man: Where is she?

The hologram stops.

Fitz: Wait, did you – did you see that on his arm?

All the scientists in the room stare at the screen transfixed.

Fitz rewinds to the part where Angry Man is lifting the chair up high, Ward steps in closer to look at the man's arm.

Coulson: What does that look like to you?

Fitz freezes the playback as we get a good look at the tech on the man's arm. It is identical to the one Mike has.

Ward: A centipede.

"...Oh!"

Simmons gets excited and walks over.

Simmons: It's an intravenous filter for his blood. This goo, sir – very similar to the serum Dr. Erskine developed in the 40s for the –

This gets Coulson's immediate attention.

Coulson: Super soldiers.

"Super soldeier serum didn't seem to have negative effects."

Simmons: I'm reading alien metal, gamma radiation, the serum, every known source of super power thrown in a blender.

Shit.

Coulson quickly turns to Fitz.

Coulson: We need to see the origin of the blast. Run it back from the last point recorded.

We cut to May and Skye still inside her van. While May isn't looking she moves a pad of paper aside, hiding under it are three microchips. She plucks up one and sticks it in her bra.

"What it that?" Several agents ask, but while Skye doesn't answer, Daisy gestures to the screen.

"Let the suspense build people!" Noticing their looks she said, "Nothing too serious, I promise!"

Skye: That should do it.

She closes her laptop as May leans in the door.

May: Let's head back.

May falls forward into Skye's van when she is hit by someone from behind. They grab her by her throat and throw her out of the van causing her to hit the wall hard and fall down unconscious. We now see that it's none other than Mike.

Skye: Mike. What are you doing?

Mike: Saving you. From the scary men in dark suits. And you're going to help save us.

"Us?" Skye asked.

Skye: "Us"?

"Don't repeat yourself!" Hunter yelled.

Mike reaches off to the side where we, and Skye, cannot see. He pulls Ace into view by his arm, the little boy looks scared.

Mike: Don't cry, okay? Stay strong for me, Ace.

Mike lifts Ace into the van getting in behind him. Skye scrambles closer to the wheel getting some distance. Mike sits Ace on his lap.

Mike: What are we?

Ace: We're a team.

Mike: That's right.

"That's adorable, even if Mike's losing it." One of the Koening's declared.

He looks at Skye while he closes the door.

Mike: Now drive.

"Ominous." Bobbi muttered.

Cut back inside the lab on The Bus. We can see flames, but instead of spreading outwards they are collapsing together. They've obviously have isolated the explosion and are going backwards from there. The flames all move together to from the body of Angry Man. We can see splits in his skin just prior to the explosion.

Coulson: Extremis. It's new. Completely unstable.

Fury scowled once again.

Simmons: Poor man didn't bring an explosive. And Mike has the same stuff in his system.

"Crap."

Ward: And judging by his strength level, a lot more.

Yikes.

Fitz: So, any minute now Mike is gonna –

Simmons: He'll take out anyone within a two block radius.

Shit.

"Are there any good news about this?"

Coulson walks over to the doorway stopping beside Ward.

Coulson: Well, you wanted a bomb.

Hill snorted.

He walks out as Ward looks to focus.

Cut back inside the van. Mike still has Ace on his lap, but we can see his cheek is glowing red and it looks like his face is cracking.

"I take it back, that is ominous." Bobbi cringed.

Open on Ward inside the planning room, for lack of a better title. It's the one with the lit table that everyone was around and talking before Ward was woken up. He's got a really big gun on the table putting it together. Coulson is in the room as well, he seems to be looking at something on a screen.

Simmons: Sir?

Coulson walks out of the room meeting them in the room adjacent.

Simmons: He didn't explode because he was angry. The two are connected, it's – it's kind of a chemical surge. But, calming him down will buy him a minute at most. He will detonate within the next few hours.

"What did you do?" Agent Hand asked Daisy.

Daisy gestured to the screen.

Coulson: Solution?

Simmons: Isolate him, get him away from people?

Coulson: Or?

Fitz: Put a bullet though his brain.

At this Ward, either knowingly or not, makes a loud clicking noise with his gun which is still visible over Coulson's shoulder.

"This whole fucking episode is ominous." Bobbi deadpanned.

Simmons: If he's dead this irradiated metabolic process will stop.

Coulson looks over at Ward and his gun.

Coulson: We need to come up with a third option. One that doesn't involve Mike's son losing a father.

Skye looked at Coulson and other people that she knew were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Maybe they aren't so bad.

Simmons: We have a couple of hours, at most. There's no way that we could possibly –

As Simmons speak denying the possibility, Fitz drops his head. Almost like he knew she shouldn't have said that – turns out he's right. Coulson rounds on them angrily walking back toward her.

Coulson: Don't ever tell me there's no way! It's on you. Get it done.

Simmons flinched. If she couldn't do it...

They both look stricken but walk away quickly.

Cut inside the room, the gun is now complete and Ward holds it up inspecting it. Coulson walks in, as Ward packs the gun. He clicks on his remote.

Coulson: May?

We cut to May in the alley, there's a cut on her lip.

May: He took Skye.

May scowled.

"Sorry 'bout that." Skye suddenly muttered.

May stared for a moment beforee giving a tiny nod.

Cut to Coulson who closes his mouth in anger.

Coulson: You all right?

Cut back to May.

May: We'll deal with that later, at length.

Coulson grined sheepishly.

We cut back to Coulson.

May: Right now we need to figure out where they went.

There were a few nods around the room.

Cut to outside a building, it's has a sign that says "Union Station". We can see Skye's van parked not far away.

Fury scribbled in his notebook.

Cut inside the van, Skye is taping on the keys of her laptop. We see a screen pop up with Mike's picture and a bunch of info. Mike walks from the back of the van to where Skye is.

Mike: How long's this going to take?

Skye: This is top speed, trust me. It's not like I'm deleting a Facebook page.

"Does the guy even have a Facebook page?"

We see that things on the screen are getting highlighted in red then disappearing.

Skye: I'm bypassing the license bureau's A.E.S. protected data stream. So, chill.

Mike: How do I know you can really do this?

Skye: I've done it before.

"Who the hell did you delete?" Hand's question was directed somewhere between Skye and Daisy.

"Myself." Skye answered after a few moments of tense silence.

She hits another key and everything on Mike is erased.

"Just like that." Skye grinned proudly.

Cut back to the lab inside The Bus. Simmons is working on something as Fitz stares at a large screen.

Fitz: Come on, give me more paralysis.

The screen starts giving warning beeps and Fitz gets aggravated.

Fitz: Less rigor mortis! Oh, come on!

"Less what?"

He makes a gesture of frustration and runs to another section.

Fitz: No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Simmons: Just, pretend it's an exam.

"Not helping." Fitz bit his lip.

That doesn't seem to help Fitz, he tenses in frustration then shakes it off.

Simmons: We're taking an exam.

Fitz: An exam – yeah.

Simmons: Yeah.

Fitz: Okay. I don't want an "F". "F" equals a massacre.

As gruesome as that was some people were smiling at Fitz's way of thinking.

Simmons places a vial of something blue into a tube that closes around it, as Fitz bends down taking some deep breaths. There are a lot of beeps on his screen and he brings his head up quickly to check it out.

Fitz: Whoa.

In the corner of the screen it says "security breach". Simmons rushes around the table to see what the issue is.

Simmons: Oh no! What is this nonsense? Why are you making nonsense?!

Fitz: This isn't me! It's noise! Someone's hacking our secure channel.

Skye's eyes widened.

Coulson enters the lab.

Coulson: It's longitude and latitude.

When he enters the room it brightens. We now see that the ramp of The Bus is lowering.

Coulson: Mike took Skye. She's telling us where.

"Ha!" Skye laughed. "I'm a master at multitasking."

The SUV parked in The Bus starts up as Coulson walks to get in it. Fitz clicks some keys and zeros in on Skye's position as Ward backs the SUV out of The Bus.

Cut to inside the van. Mike is close to Ace trying to calm the child, and probably himself too.

Mike: We'll take the nice lady with us. We, we can't go to the airport, so we'll – we'll take a train.

"The nice lady?" Skye asked. "Oh well, I've been called worse."

Skye is still clicking on her keyboard while Mike talks to Ace.

Mike: And there she'll – she'll help us start over, make a new life – a better life, like I always said.

Cut to outside the train station, the SUV carrying Ward and Coulson arrives. Ward pulls up at the curb as he and Coulson get out. Coulson has a bullhorn in his hand as they walk to the van. There are people just walking around going about their everyday lives.

Ward: Look at this place. You're going to risk thousands of lives over some nobody?

"I don't like him." Skye declared glaring at Ward on the screen.

Coulson: Nobody's nobody, Ward. Fitz-Simmons will come through.

Coulson brings the bullhorn up to his mouth and turns it on.

Coulson: Mr. Peterson, good morning.

Inside the van, Mike's head pops up at hearing his name.

Coulson: We're not a threat. We're here to help. But you're in danger and we need to take you in.

Mike: What did you do?!

His face starts to glow red again.

"Not the best idea." Coulson winced. He didn't want this girl to be anywhere whe- if he exploded.

Outside the van there is nothing but a tense silence. Suddenly the van of the door is forcibly throw off hitting the police officers that were closest. Coulson sees it heading for his head and ducks at the last possible moment. Mike has Ace in his arm and grabs Skye by one of her arms hauling her out of the van. Ward regains his composure as they pass by and scrambles to get to his gun. Mike is able to get Skye and Ace inside the train station before Ward can get to his feet.

Skye rolled her eyes.

Cut to inside the busy train station. The people inside seem to have no clue as to the chaos that just happened outside. People are going to and from their destinations. Mike leads Skye past a rough looking group. Skye takes notice of them, looks at Mike, then back at the rough guy in the lead. She pulls her leg back and kicks the lead rough guy in the crotch. Mike looks back shocked at her actions.

"What the?" Fitz gaped.

Skye: You're right, he is a little bitch.

Simmons laughed a little.

The guy's friends rush at them, Skye runs off as Mike pushes Ace behind him.

Maria Hill was watching the screen intently.

Taking advantage of the environment, even without any training the girl's a natural.

Meanwhile Fury scribbled Skye's name on the next page under Potential Recruits.

Mike: Ace, get back!

Mike grabs one of the men and throws him hard. Everyone that comes to confront Mike gets mowed down pretty easily.

"Well that didn't last long."

Mike looks around for his son.

Mike: Ace!

He gets hit on his back by one of those waiting in line markers, it bends around his back not hurting him. The rough guy looks at it with shock then up to Mike with even more shock and worry. Mike slowly turns and we see that guy get launched fifty feet in the air before landing with a thud.

"Shiii..."

Cut to outside. The doctor from the hospital, the one Mike saved, is sitting in a car watching all the movement and chaos Mike created. In the backseat is a man we haven't seen before, he's wearing a police uniform. She glances in the rearview mirror at the man. He immediately gets out of the backseat holding an impressive looking gun.

"A third party?"

Cut to inside the train station. Coulson has located Ace and leads him to some police officers.

Coulson: Let's get him out of here.

Ace: I want my daddy.

Coulson: I promise.

Skye smiled.

Mike: Ace!

He's still looking around frantically for his son.

Mike: Ace!

He's so preoccupied with looking for Ace that he doesn't see Ward come up behind him. He hits Mike behind his knees causing his legs to buckle. Once Mike is on the ground Ward gets him in a chokehold.

Ward: Look, the stuff inside you is unstable It'll kill you and everyone else in here.

Mike is struggling against Ward, but it's pretty obvious he's not struggling hard otherwise Ward wouldn't have a chance.

Mike: Who's gonna miss us?

"That's sorta depressing."

Mike gets to his feet and walks backwards ramming Ward into a glass sign. Mike gets a hold of Ward's shoulders and flips Ward up and off of him. Ward lets out a groan then a cough from the impact. Mike looks over and sees Skye go to a door. We also see the man in the uniform enter from another door and look around for Mike. Mike makes an impressive jump and lands behind Skye who cannot get the locked door to open. The man in uniform sees Mike lands and trains his gun on him. Mike gets to Skye and grabs her by the arm turning her to face him. The man in the uniform fires a shot that goes wide, it doesn't hit them but lets them know someone is firing at them. Mike gives the door Skye was about to exit a hard kick causing it to open. The man in the uniform quickly follows after.

Cut to outside, a police car has just pulled up and May gets out. Coulson touches his ear piece.

Coulson: We're at the north entrance, May.

He gets to Ward and holds his hand down to him, Ward takes it and gets to his feet.

Ward: You told them to hold fire.

May rolled her eyes.

Coulson: I don't think that's us.

"I don't either."

Cut to back outside with May, she puts her hand to her ear when Coulson speaks.

Coulson: We may have a third party here.

May snaps her head up and looks around.

Coulson: He's gonna head down to the tracks.

Lincoln frowned.

That's even worse.

Cut back inside, Coulson is speaking to Ward.

Coulson: You stay high, I'll go low. Only take the shot if you have to, Ward.

Ward walks away without a word.

"I see why you drew a poop with knives sticking out of it." Skye nodded to Agent Hill.

"It was a porcupine." The latter roller her eyes.

"Suuuure."

Coulson: Ward!

He keeps walking but looks over his shoulder.

Ward: If I have to.

"Um, he does have somebody to tell him that he doesn't have to or have to do it, right?"

Cut to outside, Mike still has Skye by her arm leading her. He enters an area that seems to be under construction. Even though it's daylight there isn't a soul in there working – how convenient!

Skye: You've got to stop!

She roughly extracts her arm from his grip and looks at him pleadingly.

Skye rubbed her arm without even realizing that she was doing it.

Skye: These people can help you.

Mike: The men in suits? They're your buddies now?

Daisy smiled while Skye thought about it.

The answer was written all over Skye's face.

He grips her arm again leading her further into the room.

Mike: Where did they take my son?!

"Good question." Hunter frowns, remembering little Ace.

They walk to a railing and we see they are above an entryway into the train station. The camera pans up to see they are very high above the entry. The man in the uniform walks to a window, brings up his gun and fires.

Mike: Get down!

He throws Skye hard to the ground getting her out of the way. The man in the uniform cocks the gun and fires again. This time Mike gets hit in the shoulder. The impact of the hit spins him around knocking him over the railing to the floor below. Mike crashes into a ticket kiosk crumbling it as Skye looks to the shooter.

"That looks painful."

"Really?"

He cocks his gun and aims again but May arrives behind him. She places a punch to the back of his knee causing his legs to buckle. She takes the gun out of his hand and smashes her palm into his chest. The fight is brief but at the end May is able to knock the guy out with one punch. Skye gives her a shaky smile of thanks through the window.

"That was awesome." Skye smiled at Agent May.

Cut to downstairs. Mike is emerging from the kiosk glowing red and smashes the kiosk down even more. A pair of feet walk into frame holding a gun. The camera pans up to show it is Coulson walking very slowly toward Mike. Mike stands staring at Coulson and panting. Coulson bends down and places his gun on the floor.

Mike: Think that means anything?

"It really doesn't. The guy's practically bulletproof."

He looks up and sees that Ward has his gun trained on him.

Mike: I know you got men everywhere waiting to put me down.

We can see through the scope on Ward's gun that he is in fact ready to take down Mike.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

Mike: I know how this plays out.

Cut back to Coulson and Mike.

"I don't." Coulson muttered.

Coulson: I don't. I know you got poison in your system. I know it's burning you up. Mike, the last guy who wore that exploded.

Mike: I'm not like that other guy. I'm – It matters who I am, inside, if I'm a good person, if I'm strong.

Daisy smiled sadly.

Cut back to Ward.

Ward: I have a clear shot. Do you copy?

Cut to Coulson, he can hear Ward but makes no confirmation.

Skye grinned.

Coulson: I know you're strong. Your boy knows it. He needs you to let us help.

Mike: You took him! You took my wife, my job, my house.

"Okay his wife leaving is not on S.H.I.E.L.D." Hartley grumbled.

He lifts up his arm and shows him the centipede device.

Mike: You think this is killing me?!

"Yes."

Skye and May rush into the room.

Mike: All over, there's people being pushed down, being robbed.

"Nobody's denying it."

Mike rips something large and heavy out of the floor next to him.

Mike: One of them tries to stand up, you got to make an example out of him.

Coulson frowned.

Coulson: You bring this building down on us, will that help them?

Mike: That's a lie! All you do is lie!

"Meh." Daisy shrugged.

Lying is in the job description if you're a spy.

He uses the large piece of building to smash apart the kiosk some more, there is another flash of red in his face that lowers.

Mike: You said if we worked hard…if we did right…we'd have a place.

Ward's finger tightens on the trigger but he doesn't pull it.

Skye shhifts in her seat feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Mike: You said it was enough to be a man. But there's better than man. There's Gods. And the rest of us, what are we? They're giants, we're what they step on.

Coulson steps even closer to him.

Coulson: I know. I've seen giants – up close. And that privilege cost me, nearly everything. But the good ones, the real deal, they're not heroes because of what they have that we don't. It's what they do with it. You're right, Mike. It matters who you are.

"It does." Daisy smiled.

Mike is very sad and upset at this point.

Mike: I could, you know? Be a hero.

Skye and Coulson both have small smiles for him.

Most people in the room are cheering for them.

Coulson: I'm counting on it.

We hear a silenced gunshot and Mike falls back hard. Both Coulson and Skye are taken aback by this. Coulson and May both look to where Ward was as Simmons runs over to Mike.

"Oh God." Skye looks positively sick.

We pan over to Mike to see some sort of bullet slug stuck to his forehead. There are blue lines running down his face and the red is still visible under his skin. We pan up to Ward to see he no longer has his gun, now he's got the "night, night gun" we first saw at the top of the episode, with Fitz standing beside him. Skye and Coulson move in closer toward Mike. As Simmons checks him the blue and the red lights fade from his skin and she gives them a happy smile. Skye rolls her eyes in relief and smiles. Paramedics come onto the scene as Fitz winks and gives a thumbs up to Simmons. The team is sharing relieved smiles with each other.

"That was freaking dramatic." Skye groaned.

Agents Koenings, 33 and Hill nodded in agreement.

Cut to Hill in headquarters, she is standing at a bank of monitors as we hear Coulson's report via radio.

Coulson: Subject is in stable condition. All clear at Union Station.

Hill smiles and walks out of the room.

Hill smiled at FitzSimmons in thanks.

Cut to a farmhouse. We can see Coulson and Skye there. Skye is talking to two young children as Coulson watches on. There is also another woman there who follows after the children when they walk away. Skye walks over to Coulson.

Skye: I told him his father was coming home.

Coulson: He will. We have some experience with this.

Skye: He almost blew. We almost died.

Coulson: We have some experience with that, too.

SKye shuddered.

Skye: Don't have it all mapped out.

Coulson: True. We didn't cut off the head of the centipede. Whoever sponsored that little experiment is still out there, among other things.

Fury scowled.

Skye: It's a brave new world, and a really old car.

May snorted at that.

While they were talking they were also walking over to Lola.

Coulson: Lola can keep up.

He opens the door and gets in.

Coulson: What about you?

Skye climbs in as well.

Coulson: Have you thought about the offer?

"What offer?" Skye asked Coulson.

The latter shrugged and gestured toward the screen with a serene 'Dumbledore' smile.

Skye: Hitching a ride on the crazy plane? I'm not exactly a team player.

Skye's eyebrows shot up.

Coulson: We're not exactly a team. But we're in a position to do some good. You'd be a great help. And you'd be front row center at the strangest show on Earth, which is, after all, what you wanted.

Daisy snickered.

Skye: I was able to hack S.H.I.E.L.D. from my van. You're gonna show me something new?

Skye smirks again.

He smiles and there is a beeping of a cell phone, he pushes a button.

Coulson: Go.

Cut to inside the plane, Ward is on the phone while Fitz stands near him eating Chinese food. Simmons walks closer to listen in.

Ward: Sir, we've got an 0-8-4.

"What?" May sat up straighter.

Cut back to Coulson who looks surprised.

Coulson: Is that confirmed?

Cut back to Ward.

Ward: They want us to go in and confirm it.

Coulson had a weird expression on his face.

Fitz gives Ward a clap on the shoulder, Ward looks uncomfortable that Fitz did so.

Cut back to Coulson and Skye.

Skye: What's an 0-8-4?

Skye doesn't even bother asking.

Coulson starts the engine.

Coulson: You've got exactly ten minutes to decide if you really want to know.

"Ten minutes? There is no way you can get to the airfield in 10 freaking minutes."

Skye smiles at him.

Skye: There's no way we can make it to the airfield in –

Coulson reaches down and flips a switch on Lola. The tires whir and move until they are now horizontal with the ground. Lola flies.

"Holy shit." Skye whispered in amazement.

It seemed that everybody around the room, except Daisy and Coulson was shocked to some degree.

Skye:…ten minutes.

Skye leans over the side of the car and looks down at the ground the back at Coulson.

Coulson: The tide is rising.

Skye snorts.

Rising Tide. Tide is rising, really?

Coulson puts on some sunglasses, as an emblem on the car switches from Corvette to S.H.I.E.L.D. The car zooms into frame and then out leaving a black screen behind.

"Well that's the end of the first episode!" Daisy grinned. "A break anyone?"

*Chapter 3*: 0-8-4

After most people got themselves a snack or went to the restroom, most of them sat closer to the middle of the room, so they could get to know each other later. Daisy was about to start the show again when there was a flash of light that blinded everyone.

When they could see again they saw three unconcious people in front of the room.

Daisy groaned and over to them.

Grant Ward, Hannah Hutchins and Rosalind Price of all people were knocked out in front of her.

She noticed a note in Ward's hand. Daisy carefully took it.

You forgot someone Daisy. I thought I'd do you a favor.

-S

"Damn you Simmons!" She groaned out.

"What'd I do?" The scientist appeared behind her.

Daisy almost jumped in surprise.

"Future you." Was all she said before walking to her seat.

"Shouldn't we wake them?" Simmons asked quietly.

Daisy shrugged, and Simmons did it herself.

After explaining to the new arrivals what exacly was going on they sat down. Ward, still miffed sat next to Skye, to keep an eye on her.

We start with the Marvel comic book flip through that starts each Marvel produced TV or movie. After that we cut to somewhere high in the sky, it's blue with big puffy white clouds. We pan down to see The Bus flying though the skies. We hear a female voice come over the radio.

Radio Woman: S.H.I.E.L.D 6-1-6, you have course confirmation. You are cleared direct to the slingshot. Agent Coulson, everything all right up there? We heard you had a little dustup on the ground.

Coulson raised an eyebrow.

Coulson: Yeah, we're all good. It's gonna be blue skies from here on out.

The plane passes by the screen. Once we get past the wings of the craft an explosion happens in the belly of the plane near that wing. After a second we see someone get sucked out of the plane, they hit an engine and bounce away with a yell.

"What the hell?" He yelled out.

Cut to inside the plane, there is a computer sounding out a warning beep as the screens flash red. We see an agent up in the air holding onto a chair for dear life. We get close to realize it's Coulson in the air and his feet are pointed directly at the hole in his plane. We can hear Simmons calling out to him.

Simmons: Coulson, hang on!

Title Screen.

"What. The. Bloody. Hell?" Hunter asked with wide eyes.

Bobbi was weaaring the exact same expression as him.

Cut to inside a hanger. Skye's van is parked right next to the ramp of the plane. She throws out a bag and grabs a hula dancer that was on the dashboard.

Runner at the bottom of the screen says: 19 Hours Earlier.

"Okay..." Skye breathed out. This was not what she expected.

Skye hops out of the van and shoulders her two bags. She reaches into the van and pulls out a box with her belongings. She takes a moment to look at her van one last time. An airman walks by and she addresses him.

Skye: Hey, no joy rides, okay? That's my house.

Ward raised both eyebrows.

Airman: No worries.

He puts some sort of small black pyramid on the hood of the car and the engine comes to life. Skye scoffs at seeing this.

Skye: Where do they think of this stuff?

Skye nodded in agreement with her screen future self.

She turns and walks onto the plane and the ramp moves upwards closing up the plane as she looks around.

Cut to Coulson and Ward walking into that room with the lit table from last episode. It will be called the "Planning Room".

Ward: Skye? That girl's not qualified to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

"Excuse you." Skye snorted.

Ward rolled his eyes. Well maybe Skye had been qualified to be an agent.

Just not a field agent.

Coulson: Agreed. That's why I've invited her on as a consultant.

There was tiny smile on Daisy's face.

We now see May has walked into the room as well, we hear her give a little scoff.

May nodded in apology to Daisy who was obviously a good S.H.I.L.D. agent in the future.

Daisy gave her a salute.

May snorted.

Coulson: S.H.I.E.L.D. does it all the time. Technically, Stark's a consultant.

"Imagine what could happen if he had a high ranking clearance." Daisy grinned. "Say level seven or eight."

Both Fury and Hill paled. Hell, even Coulson did.

Ward: And technically Skye is a member of the Rising Tide. She hacked our RSA implementation –

Coulson: Twice, from a laptop. Imagine what she'll do with our resources.

Fury suddenly felt an impeding sense of doom.

Ward: I am. That's exactly what I'm imagining during this frown. You brought me on for risk assessment, she's a risk. She doesn't think like us.

Coulson: Exactly.

"That's a good thing, agent." Coulson smirked a little.

Cut to another part of The Bus. A door whirs open and we see Simmons enter the room with a smile. We pan back a bit to see that she is greeting Skye, Fitz is also right behind her to greet the newcomer.

Simmons: Oh, Agent Coulson told us the news. What a wonderful surprise. Isn't it, Fitz?

Fitz: Yeah.

He does not sound like it's wonderful at all.

Skye sent a questioning look at the engineer. Ftz shrugged at her.

Simmons: No, it's wonderful.

Fitz: Yeah, a surprise.

Simmons: You must be very excited.

Skye: Yep, first day of school.

Both Skye and Daisy groaned.

Fitz takes the box of out her hands.

Simmons: Okay, so –

She walks between Fitz and Skye.

Simmons: Just – sorry. Yeah.

She starts up the spiral staircase with Skye and Fitz following.

"Well, this is going to be fun." Skye smirked.

Ward snorted.

Cut back inside the Planning Room as we left it, May is talking with Coulson with Ward listening in.

May: We have two kids on this Bus who aren't cleared for combat, you're adding a third.

"Kids?" Simmons and Skye both questioned while Fitz looked comically shocked.

I am not a child!

Ward: At least Fitz-Simmons are trained S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists. But Skye? You said this was a select team. Assembled to work new cases, to protect people. I don't see how letting some hacker tag along –

"Well, I hope the rest of your day is as pleasant as you are." Skye snickered.

Bobbi laughed from behind her, while Ward pouted just the tiniest bit.

Coulson: I'm looking for an objection I haven't already anticipated.

He looks to May who stands down.

Coulson: I'm calling this. But, your frown will be on record.

"Along with a poop with knives sticking of it."

"What?" Grant questioned the hacker.

Skye shrugged, not bothering to explain.

Ward: We've been called in to investigate an 0-8-4, we all know what that means.

Coulson: Yes we do. It means, we don't know what that means.

Hunter and Skye both snorted.

During their conversation Coulson has been punching things onto a tablet which he hands over to May. She takes it and walks out of the Planning Room. As she goes off camera one way we see Skye, Fitz and Simmons enter from the other.

Fitz: Officially it's an airborne mobile command station. But we call it The Bus.

"Why the 'Bus'?" Rosalind Price questioned.

Nobody answered her.

Nobody knew, really.

They both grin excitedly but Skye looks confused.

Fitz: We find it best to use shorthand when in the field. But, everything has to be just so, you know, because of the danger.

Skye: Yeah, I've been up here before, but I didn't see much because of the bag that Agent Ward put over my head.

"Again, why are you so frickin rude?"

Ward stiffened.

Simmons looks contrite as Fitz struggles to continue holding the box while walking.

Simmons: Yes, so sorry about that.

She reached over and grabs a bottle of water holding it out to Skye who takes it.

Simmons: Water?

Skye stares at the screen, her confusion growing.

There is a beep from the intercom and May's voice sounds out through the plane.

May: Wheels up in two. Lock it or lose it.

"What does that mean?"

Skye: What does that mean?

Simmons: No backing out now. Let's find a bunk for our guest.

Simmons starts off and Fitz quickly follows after her.

Like a puppy.

Daisy grinned.

Fitz: Oh, oh yeah, there's only one bunk left and its right next to mine.

He runs over to an open doorway and sets Skye's box down on a small bed. There doesn't appear to be much room in these bunks, a bed, monitor above the bed and a small shelf to hold things. Fitz lingers in the doorway and quickly moves when he realizes it.

"Not bad." Skye murmured quietly.

Fitz: Sorry , you can –

He hurries away and Skye takes in her two bags and drops them down. Ward appears from off screen and knocks on her door.

Skye: Hey, I know we didn't really –

He hands her something not interested in making nice talk.

Skye scoffed.

Ward: You may want to read that. This isn't like other planes.

Skye opens the pamphlet he gave her, it shows the layout of the plane and the many exits off of it.

Skye: You could say that again.

Skye stared at the map on the screen open mouthed.

Coulson walks over to join her.

Coulson: Say what again?

Skye gives him a smile.

Skye: Sweet ride.

"Which one?" Coulson smiled. "The Bus or Lola?"

"Both."

Coulson: I earned a little good will from Directory Fury when I got hit right before the Battle of New York.

Skye becomes interested.

Skye: You took a bullet?

Everyone stared at the screen intently.

Coulson: Ish. An Asgardian stabbed me through the heart with a chitauri scepter. The effect was similar.

Skye is looking at him with shock and awe.

"You say that so casually Dad." Daisy laughed.

Silence.

Coulson looks at Daisy opened mouthed. So does Skye.

So do you.

Coulson: Got a few weeks R&R and this plane. Had it completely refurbished, studs up, spared no expense.

Skye: Yeah, Agent Ward told me they sent you to Tahiti.

Coulson: It's a magical place.

The smile slid off Daisy's face.

Skye: You mentioned that.

They walk over to a booth like table. Skye goes to put her water down but Coulson stops her.

Coulson: Here, use a coaster.

He sets it on the table and sits, she sets down her water and sits too.

Coulson: Buckle up.

They both do so.

Skye: I don't even know where we're going.

"Didn't know most of my time I was with those guys." Daisy snorted.

There is a beeping noise and the lights go out for a moment.

Coulson: Peru. That's where the 0-8-4 was reported.

"And that is?.."

Skye: And an 0-8-4 is…?

Coulson: An object of unknown origin. Kind of like you. Team goes in, determines if it's useful or if it poses a threat. Last one turned out to be pretty interesting.

Skye: And what was the last one?

Coulson: A hammer.

"Don't tell me, Mjolnir?" Skye rolled her eyes.

Coulson smirked.

Cut to an outside view of trees and mountains. We pan to see Skye sitting by a window looking out with a little smile.

"I miss the bus." Daisy suddenly blurted out.

"What happened?" Hannah questioned.

Daisy scratched her head awkwardly. "Um, it's in the show."

When Hannah turned to the screen Daisy picked up a note from her knee.

No spoilers, or I swear to every weird ass deity out there...

There WILL be consequences Daisy.

-S

Daisy snorted in amusement.

Cut to inside the cockpit, May is busy at the controls.

I could get used to that.

May smiled a little.

Cut back outside the plane to see it land on a dirt runway.

Cut to vehicles moving through the forest, the S.H.I.E.L.D. SUV is being led by a white SUV. They pull into some sort of camp. Incan Archaeological Site, LLactapata, Peru.

Both of the vehicles come to a stop. Coulson gets out of the white SUV while Ward, May, Fitz and Simmons get out of the other.

Ward: Tire tracks, 40 meters back. I'll check them against the site's trucks, make sure we're alone.

May is standing on the bottom frame of the door looking out at everything.

May: Too much exposure here, I'm going to find a place to park.

May silently nodded in agreement with her future self.

Fitz and Simmons walk out from behind the SUV looking around.

Fitz: I would love to see a capuchin in the wild.

Simmons smiles at this.

Fitz: Maybe even a yellow-tailed woolly monkey. You know, um, Peru has 32 different species of monkeys.

It doesn't show her get out of the SUV but Skye is also there. Fitz and Simmons walk on one side of the white SUV while Skye walks on the other.

Simmons: Yeah, and close to 200 species of snakes. The shushupe has a fascinating venom. It's neurotoxic, proteolytic, and hemolytic.

They both laugh at the same time, obviously getting the "joke".

"I don't mean to offend you guys in any way," Daisy started staring at the screen, "But you two are as nerdy as they come."

Skye, Hunter and Trip nodded.

Fitz: That's fascinating.

Fitz looks around worriedly.

Simmons: Yeah. Oh, no, I'd be much more concerned with earthquakes, mala –

She reaches up and slaps a bug on the back of Fitz' neck and laughs.

Simmons: There's no vaccine for Dengue Fever.

"Not really funny." Skye mutter her survival instinct kicking in (for the first time in a while).

They have now entered the jungle, Simmons gasps when she sees what's ahead.

Simmons: Ah, look at this.

We pan over to see some sort of temple built into the jungle. It's a massive structure. At the bottom, near the ground, is a doorway.

"Cool." Skye grinned, Dengue Fever long forgotten.

We cut over to Coulson and Skye walking into the jungle too.

Skye: We should warn the people who live around here if the 0-8-4 is dangerous. They're already dealing with anti-mining rebels and the Shining Path Guerillas. I could post something.

Coulson: Remember the panic when that anti-matter meteor splashed down just off the coast of Miami, nearly devoured the City?

Skye: No.

Coulson: Precisely. Because we kept it quite and contained.

"...Did you now?" Rosalind Price questioned.

Skye: So, what am I doing?

Coulson: Well, if it gets out, I might need you to create some kind of diversion, put the public on the wrong scent.

Skye: So, everything that I'm against.

Coulson: Yep.

"You guys suck." Skye pouted.

Hunter chuckled.

He turns away from her just as a man is exiting the temple. Fitz and Simmons are standing next to the door taking a selfie. Coulson walks up the steps to meet the man who exited.

Coulson: Good morning, Professor. I'm Agent Coulson with S.H.I.E.L.D.

He pulls out his credentials and shows the Professor.

"Very discreet." Skye snorted.

Coulson: I understand you've made an interesting discovery.

Professor: I – I'm not sure how to explain it. This temple dates back at least 500 years. It's filled with pre-Incan artifacts. One of them is impossible and looks like it might be dangerous.

"What?"

Coulson: Well, that's why we're here.

The Professor leads Coulson through the door.

A lot of people lean forward subconciously.

Cut to inside the temple. The Professor points at something on the floor of the hall then enters a larger cavern.

Professor: Watch out.

The Professor enters followed by Coulson, Simmons and Fitz. The camera pans over to a wall, we see ancient writing on the wall along with something that is shiny metal with blue glowing lights. It looks like there are some wires running out of the device.

"The hell? That was pre Incan?" Hunter stared.

"No."

Professor: Exactly as we found it.

Coulson: Who else knows about this?

Professor: Just the ministry. I believe they are the ones who contacted you.

"The ministry rarely contacts us." Hill muttered and Fury nodded in agreement.

Something is not right.

Skye is now standing behind Coulson as Fitz and Simmons are behind her. They are opening their equipment and taking things out.

Coulson: Sir, I need you and your team to evacuate the site until we determine the risk associated with this object.

Fitz has brought out his little drones, the Professor looks back then watches them as they pass by.

Simmons: Leave the man alone.

"Imagine what the man is thinking." Trip grinned.

She smiles. The camera goes into the point of view of one of the drone, this one is "02 Sleepy". It gets close to the device and begins to scan it.

Coulson: Now – for your own safety.

Coulson holds out his arm herding the Professor back to the entryway.

Skye: There's nothing about this anywhere.

"Good."

She laughs as she looks at her phone.

Skye: It's amazing. I searched every data stream . What do we got here, guys?

Skye is now right in front of the device. Sleepy is still hovering around it taking data from various angles. Skye reaches one of her hands up and is just about to touch the device when Fitz stops her.

Fitz: Whoa, car – uh, careful. I – no I wouldn't do that.

Skye lowers her hand and looks back at Fitz worried.

Simmons: The object's placement is fossiliferous rock formation suggests it's been here for at least 1,500 years. That pre-dates this temple by a millennium. Ah! Maybe it's alien.

"How the heck did it end up there?"

This excites Simmons as she looks to Fitz. He's looking at a readout on his tablet.

Fitz: Yeah, but the shape and craftsmanship, it's almost German.

"German?" May questioned.

Nobody answers her.

Cut to outside the temple. May is standing guard just outside the door and the Professor exits. He walks down the steps and passes by Ward.

Ward: Tires match the Prof's truck. Where's your sidearm?

May walks down the steps to meet him.

May: If I need a gun, I'll take one.

Daisy smiled.

Ward: Right. I forgot I was working with "The Cavalry".

FitzSimmons look shellshocked, as do a few other agents.

May tenses hearing this and shoots Ward a glare.

May: Don't ever call me that.

Ward: Apologies.

They both walk separate directions checking out the jungle around them.

Ward: I've heard the stories, what went down in Bahrain, about you in action. You know, it was smart of Coulson to pull you out of retirement. It's nice to have a trusted friend who has your back.

"Do you ever think before you speak?" Skye scowled looking at the older woman who looked both pained and extremely uncomfortable. Even though she hid it well.

"Are you ever quiet?" Ward frowned back at her.

Ward has walked closer to a large bush. As he speaks he reaches into the bush and pulls out a man holding a gun in camo. Another man in camo comes to May, she grabs his gun before he has a chance to aim it at her. She spins the man down to the ground, taking him out, as another man appears and attacks her. She also flips this man down to the ground. Having disarmed them both she now uses their guns to point at them keeping them in place. We pan over to see Ward standing over the man he took out also holding him with a gun. He looks up when he hears a vehicle approaching. May trains her gun on the road where the vehicle will appear as Ward picks up his man using him as a human shield. Two vehicles have arrived on the scene, one on each side of them. Men pour out of the SUVs and aim at Ward and May with their guns.

"That was so badass!" Skye stared at agent May, unitentionally ignoring Ward.

...Who looked slightly put out.

May smiled at Skye while Ward pouted slightly.

Fitz patted his shoulder awkwardly.

"That was cool man."

Ward: Should have taken more guns.

"Really should have."

So, a standoff between Ward and May versus a lot of guys in camo. The men in camo are yelling out orders to each other in Spanish. A woman, dressed in camo, gets out of one of the SUVs and walks toward Ward and May.

Coulson sits up straighter in his chair.

Cut to inside the temple, Coulson's walkie-talkie beeps and we hear Ward's voice.

Ward: Sir?

Coulson: Go.

Ward: We have a situation.

Skye is next to Coulson and hears this.

Skye: Lots of rebels in this area.

Ward gave a slight nod.

Coulson: Not enough gunfire. Keep working.

He clicks the walkie-talkie.

Coulson: I'm on my way.

Coulson walks out as Fitz and Simmons work on the respective tablets.

Cut to outside. Coulson walks out and addresses the soldiers.

Coulson: Buenos Dias. Soy Agent Coulson. Estamos aqui por un asunto de la seguridad internacional.

"...And you speak another language. Of course you do. Is that a requirenment for joining?" Skye babbled.

"No." Coulson answered simply with a smile.

As he speaks the woman in camo walks closer to him, bringing a couple of guards with her.

Camo Woman: Phillip?

Coulson seems shocked.

Coulson: Camilla? Do you mind?

"Who?.." Trip lets the question die out.

Camilla: After you.

Coulson nods at Ward, he shoves the soldier he was using a shield away and lowers his gun. May does the same, lowering the two pistols she is holding. Camilla speaks a few words in Spanish and the other soldiers lower their guns as well. Camilla walks up the stairs to stand next to Coulson.

Camilla: And now for a proper hello.

He leans closer to her and she gives him a kiss on each of his cheeks with a big smile.

"Is she french?" Daisy asked randomly.

"Not that I know of." Coulson shrugged.

Coulson: Comandante, a promotion. Congratulations.

She gives him a proud smile.

Camilla: Three years ago, but thank you.

Coulson winced slightly.

Coulson doesn't take his eyes off Camilla when he introduces the others.

Skye notices that.

Coulson: Agent Melinda May, Agent Grant Ward, this is Comandante Camilla Reyes. She's with the Policia Militar Del Peru. We used to work together back in the day.

May scoffs at this and shoots a look to Ward, who is looking right back at her.

Coulson: Let the team know everything's okay.

Daisy fiddled with her future friend's note.

Ward nods his head and he and May walk into the temple.

Camilla: I know you've found a strange object on Peruvian soil. We should have a conversation about how to proceed.

Coulson: Of course. But an 0-8-4 supersedes all national claims.

Camilla: You look good.

Coulson: Yeah, I work out.

"Don't need to know that." Somebody in the audience muttered.

She gives him a little grin the puts an arm around his shoulders.

Camilla: Come, let me show you something.

Skye got a bad feeling in her gut.

Cut back to inside the temple. Fritz is pointing at something on his tablet, there's some sort of red dot inside the device.

Fitz: Are you seeing this? It's alive.

Skye is once again standing way too close to the device, she turns and looks at Fitz.

Skye: Wha – alive, alive?

"The hell?" Hunter looked hopelessly lost.

Fitz: It has a functioning power source.

Skye turns and looks at the device.

Simmons: Sleepy's reading radionuclides, but they don't match any known isotope.

Fitz: I get temporal matches, but even then, they seem to shift. Is that even possible?

"Please talk in English!" Somebody pleaded, and Maria Hill looked shocked to see it was Fury.

Skye: Depends on the shifting of the temporal radio stuff, so…

They both look up at her with a confused face, obviously missing her joke.

Skye: It's totally weird, right?

She gives them a smile, but they are still looking at her like she is talking gibberish.

Skye: I'm gonna go check on Coulson.

She goes to start out of the temple, but Ward walks in stopping her.

Ward: We've got company. National police.

"I don't like this." Ward raised his eyebrow at Skye's statement.

Simmons: What?

Fitz: Why are they here?

Ward: They heard about this object, they're probably here to protect it.

Bullshit.

Ward has walked over to the device and takes a look at it for himself.

Ward: This area has lots of rebel uprisings.

Skye: Yeah, people are fighting back against the government's mining policies. It's pretty kick ass.

That got her a few stares and judgemental glances.

Not that she noticed.

This gets her an angry look from Ward.

Ward: Yeah, it's kick ass, all the violence.

Skye: That's not what I'm saying.

Ward: No, that's what you're typing. In your van, alone, where it's safe. How much longer?

He addresses this question to Fitz and Simmons.

"You act like a-" Skye was cut off by Bobbi putting a hand over her mouth.

Skye glared at her slightly.

Ward smirked.

Simmons: What's the hurry?

Fitz: Are we in danger?

Ward: Not if everyone does their job.

He looks at Skye.

Ward: What is yours, exactly?

Skye lowers her eyes realizing she has no answer.

Coulson scowls, while Maria Hill looks at Coulson like 'I told you so'.

Cut back to outside. Camilla is holding something gin her hands and showing it to Coulson.

Camilla: The cacao is from a secret valley in Peru. Very special.

Coulson reaches over and takes a piece of the chocolate.

Camilla: The best chocolate in the world.

Coulson: Could use some sugar.

"Who the hay eats chocolate with sugar?" Simmons asked hopelessly confused.

She laughs.

Camilla: Americans.

Victoria Hand snorted.

Coulson: You know me, Camilla. I'm a pretty simple guy.

She cocks her head making a slight noise of disagreement.

Camilla: There was nothing simple about your last mission here.

"Nothing about you is simple." May says at the same time as Camilla at the screen.

Coulson only heard May. He smiled at her.

Coulson: I had some great help.

Camilla: There isn't any chance we get to keep the device, is there?

Coulson: It's not mine to give. But, I'm sure we can find a way to resolve this respectfully, in a way that gives your coun –

"Don't bullshit them Coulson." Director Fury snarked.

An explosion rocks out behind them taking out some sort of building. Both of them, naturally, flinch then turn to see what happened.

The soldiers that were following after the two of them immediately turn and start to fire in the direction of the blast. Coulson and Camilla both take out their guns.

Camilla: Rebels.

"I'll just stop being surprised now." Skye deadpanned.

Maria Hill heard her and snorted, "That never happens."

"Happened to me." Daisy smirked.

Coulson: Stay close. On my six.

They both move in the direction of the fighting. A man wearing a red bandana comes out from the trees firing at them as another man comes out and fires his gun on a truck making it explode.

"...Yeah, okay I'm surprised."

Cut to inside. The force of the explosion rocks the ground raining down dirt on all inside. Ward goes on immediate alert.

Ward: Sounds like they're engaging with rebels. Let's go.

Ward starts to go out and we see it from the vantage point of Sleepy.

Ward: Rebels, they're coming for it. Let's move!

Sleepy flies to Fitz who catches it and quickly puts it back in its case as Ward guards the door. Fitz, Simmons and Skye are all trying to pack things away, but Fitz is being picky about where everything goes inside the case.

Fitz: No, no, no, no, no, no.

Skye: It doesn't matter.

Fitz: It does to me!

"The alien thing?" Trip questioned.

Simmons: Please, let us do this.

Skye backs off letting them work.

Simmons: We need a containment case for the 0-8-4.

Bobbie frowns, "There's not enoegh time."

Ward looks at her like she's insane.

Ward: There's no time.

Fitz: But, it has a fluctuating power core, frequencies way above 10 exahertz.

"ENG-LISH!" Hunter groans.

"Yes, please." Lincoln supported him.

Another explosion rocks the ground around them as Fitz ducks.

Ward walks away from the opening to the device.

Ward: Sorry, science class is over.

Ward goes to the device and beings to pull on it. Fitz turns and sees what he's doing.

Fitz: Whoa!

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"

The device starts to come from the wall causing Fitz to freak out even more.

Fitz: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Wait!

It's too late, Ward has the device completely out. Ward moves to put the device into a bag.

The scientists in the roms stare at the screen in horror.

Fitz: You did not just pull that out of the wall! What is the matter with you?! Do you realize we do not know the amount of photon emissions coming out of this –

Ward gives him a hard shove making him turn to face the opening of the temple, Fitz gets the message.

Fitz: Okay. We don't know what will happen if it gets excited.

"Thank you!" Hunter grinned. Then he frowned because of the meaning of that.

Ward: Stay close.

Simmons: Fitz, come on!

Fitz is the last one to leave hiking his bag higher on his back.

Cut to outside, chaos is still reining as Coulson and Camilla make their way through. The keep looking around firing from time to time.

Coulson: Come on!

He waves Camilla over to some sort of house. Camilla flips over a table and uses that for cover then yells to her men.

"Classic." Skye muttered.

Coulson: Your men need to fall back now, or we'll never make the runway. Now, you're truck, let's go.

They both head out of the building toward her truck. The two of them face opposite sides at each other shoulders covering each other.

Cut to Ward exiting the temple with his gun up and prepared to fire, which he does as soon as he exits. Everyone else pours out after him and stays behind him for cover and protection. They come under heavier fire, Ward puts his arm back. It appears that Coulson and Camilla are watching this happen from the trees.

Ward: Get back!

Skye, Fitz and Simmons all fall back into the opening of the temple out of breath and looking around. Ward pulls something out of his coat, it looks like a small baton. With a flick of his wrist it lengthens to look more like a walking cane. Coulson shoots a quick look to Camilla.

Coulson: Tell your men to get down.

Daisy grins at the sort of Deja Vu.

She does so and immediately her men fall to the ground. Ward does a roll off the steps coming to rest on his knees on the ground in front of the temple. He drives the cane into the ground and presses a button on top. A small device pops out of the top, hovers in the air for a moment, then sends out a shockwave of green energy. It hits the rebels in the tress sending them flying back.

"That. Was. AWESOME!"

Grant smiled genuinly at Skye.

Camilla: My truck.

Ward pulls the cane out of the ground tossing it aside. He waves to the others inside the temple that it's clear. They rush out to meet Ward but there was one rebel who the wave did not knock out. He cocks his gun causing Skye, Fitz and Simmons to all freeze. A SUV arrives between the rebel and our four blocking his bullets.

Ward: Get in! Get in!

The passenger side door opens showing May, Simmons has a relieved smile for her.

Simmons: Yes!

"Great timing, as always!" Daisy smiled at her old SO.

As always?

Fitz: Yeah, that's a good idea.

They hurry down the steps to the SUV.

Cut to Coulson and Camilla, he's opened a door for her to get in.

Coulson: After you.

Camilla: After you.

Coulson shoots her a look but gets in the car.

Lincoln, Trip, Hunter and Skye all laughed out loud, while Coulson looked slightly uncomfortable.

Back at the temple May spins out of the area and past the encampment. We see Camilla's dark truck following closely after her, it's a truck filled with Camilla's soldiers. As they pass by a jeep with a lot of rebels on it, it follows them as well. They continue to fire on our SUV as it going through the jungle.

Ward: Coulson's secure in PMP's truck. Take the south route to the airfield.

May: Gotcha.

She takes the turn. The road is a bumpy and unpaved one causing Skye, Fitz and Simmons to jangle about in the back.

Fitz: Slow down!

Skye: You're joking, right?

"For once, I agrre with you." Grant smirked.

Fitz: Ward, listen, we have to be careful. There's a binding energy structure that could overheat.

Simmons gets an excited look.

Simmons: I could roll down a window!

The rebels fire on the truck again causing the three to let out yells.

Skye: Do not roll down a window!

"Okay then!" Simmons looked a little too excited.

Ward turns and addresses the three in back.

Ward: Stay quiet and keep your heads down!

"Literally."

He next addresses May.

Ward: Head left, the ravine empties.

May follows his directions, and so do the rebels.

Fitz: But, Ward!

Ward & May: Quiet!

Daisy snorted looking at her past self and her 'siblings'.

May reaches over to the radio area of the car, instead of a radio its some sort of computer screen, she punches a few buttons. The ramp on The Bus begins to lower.

Ward: How fast can you have the wheels up?

"Cool."

May: Fast.

May quickly pulls into The Bus putting the SUV in park. She jumps out and addresses Ward.

May: Ramp!

Ward: On it.

The three in the back get out of the truck with Skye shooting a look to Ward.

Skye: What are you doing?! Coulson's still out there!

Ward is at a bank of buttons and switches, pushing and flipping them. He turns to look at Skye.

Ward: Get off the ramp, you're in the line of fire.

"You're being rude again!" Skye whined childishly.

Grant Ward gave her a look that said 'sorry not sorry'.

He hurries to walk past her as she backs up, he looks out at Camilla, Coulson and the soldiers. A few of the soldiers stay behind and provide cover for them as they rush to The Bus. The rebels arrive and Ward shoots at them also providing cover. May gets into the cockpit preparing for takeoff. At the ramp Skye, Fitz and Simmons all cower in a corner trying to avoid the bullets ricocheting around them. Finally Coulson, Camilla and her men enter the plane and the ramp closes.

"Took ya long enoegh."

Ward: Cutting it pretty close, sir.

Coulson: Didn't want to leave anyone behind.

Daisy smiled softly.

Skye is still sitting with Fitz and Simmons panting from fright.

Skye: I got to say it, I miss my van.

Skye snorted.

Pretty sure I don't, considering that this was the simgle most awesome moment of my life, future life, whatever.

Ward holsters his gun and addresses Fitz.

Ward: Now, what was the problem?

Fitz: As I said before, this device has a high-frequency, fluctuating, sub-material compression –

Ward: Fitz, in English.

"Thank you." Hunter grins at Ward.

Fitz: The 0-8-4 is fueled by Tesseract technology. Hydra. World War II. Captain America.

Skye slowly raises up to her feet nervous.

The feeling in her gut was back with vengeance.

Fitz: It's full of lethal amounts of gamma radiation.

Ward: Gamma, you're saying its nuclear?

Coulson: No. He's saying it's much, much worse.

"Shit." Daisy almost cackled as she realized that it was the normally silent agent that muttered the word.

The five of them are standing in a half circle around the bag holding the device. With Coulson's words they all look down at the bag and then start moving back, away from it.

Lincoln snorted.

"Well, it didn't explode then, probably won't explode now," he reasoned seeing the incredous stares he got.

Open showing the plane flying through mostly clear skies. We then cut into the cockpit, May is flying and Coulson is speaking on the radio to a female voice.

Woman on Radio: And the 0-8-4 is in your possession?

Coulson: It's on board and contains a Tesseract fuel cell, so…there's that.

"There's that." Rosalind Price echoed.

Coulson didn't see it but May shot him a dirty look.

As she did in the present.

Woman on Radio: Copy. You are a go for check-in guidance through restricted airspace. Safe travels.

Coulson sighs and puts the radio down.

Coulson: Top speed's a priority, May. Obviously.

"Obviously." May agrees sourly.

May says nothing, keeping her body tense and eyes ahead.

Coulson: I know you didn't want to see combat, I apologize for that.

He waits a beat, but she still says nothing.

"Sorry."

Coulson: Do you need anything else before I go check on the device fueled by evil that's sitting in our cargo hold?

May remains stoic, she reaches up and flips a switch saying nothing.

Coulson: This was fun.

Agent 33 facepalmed.

With that he exits, May shoots a glace to her right, not moving her head then rolls her eyes.

Daisy laughed.

Cut to inside Fitz-Simmons' lab. They have the bag open and Simmons is carefully lifting the device out.

Simmons: Not to worry, the device is stable.

"Oh good." Skye sighs in relief.

The camera pans over to show a very worried looking Skye standing there. When Simmons does lift up the device Skye shifts.

Simmons: Not that it couldn't explode at any minute, especially if hit with machine gun fire. But, things like this happen from time to time when in the field, and at first, it's very unpleasant, and you regret your decision to leave the lab at all.

"Or not." Skye sighs again.

So we've now learned something about Simmons, she rambles when she's nervous. We hear the door open saving her from continuing to go on. We hear Fitz talking from off screen.

Fitz: Are you mental?

The camera pans over to see Fitz entering with Ward. Obviously they've been having an argument that carried over into this room.

Fitz: I did explain in great detail, exactly what I meant using the Queen's bloody English!

"Dumb it down for us." Hunter sighed.

Fitz smirked, "Could have just said that!"

Ward: I use normal English. Words like "duck" and "run" and "might blow us to pieces".

Fitz: Oh! Well congratulations, Agent Ward. You managed to string three words together in a sentence.

Skye snorts.

While arguing Fitz entered with a case. He sets the case down on the table taking out some sort of tool, he fits with it while Ward and he argue.

Cut to Coulson who comes walking down the spiral staircase. He's in the ramp area of the plane addressing Camilla's soldiers.

Coulson: Is everyone all right?

Soldier: Banged up, but alive.

Good, Coulson thinks relived.

Bad, Daisy thinks at the same time.

He walks over to a case and stows his gun.

Solider: Thank you for the extraction.

Coulson closes the crate and locks it with a pin code.

Camilla: But we lost a lot of men.

"Didn't the guy just say they were all alive?" Victoria hand asks Maria Hill. The commander shruggs.

Coulson: We'll make sure the rest of you get home safe.

She and Coulson walk over to the glass wall and look in on Fitz-Simmons' lab. Fitz and Ward are still arguing over the device while Skye watches.

Camilla: Are we safe? On a plane with that? There's a PMP airfield in Iquitos, it's a short distance –

"She's nervous." May stated simply.

Coulson: We'll burn as fast as we can for a S.H.I.E.L.D. containment facility.

Camilla's face falls slight, Coulson doesn't see this, but she nods her head.

What did I say?

Coulson: There's no safer place for us to go.

Second Solider: Sir, if I may? You got anything to drink around here?

May rolled her eyes.

Coulson: Upstairs. I think you'll find it quite comfortable up there.

Camilla helps the second solider to stand and all of the soldiers move to the staircase.

Camilla: I expect the grand tour.

Coulson: I know you do.

"Well that will go well," Fury snorts.

Coulson turns away from her and the door to the lab opens. As soon as it does we can hear Fitz and Ward screaming at each other and talking over one another.

Fitz: I'm trying to tell you –

Ward: Don't understand anything you're saying!

Coulson: Do we have a problem?

"I told you so."

They immediately stop fighting and look at him, like chastised children.

Ward: No, sir. Just working on our communication. Not everyone was prepared for a firefight.

He looks over to Simmons then back to Coulson.

Coulson: We got out, didn't lose anyone, saved a few of theirs, I'd say we did all right. Anything else.

"Pretty good." Mack agreed.

Skye raises her hand.

Skye: Uh, yeah. I have got a small question. Because I've been feeling like the tagalong hayseed rookie, but now I get the sense that Ward doesn't know which ones Simmons and which one's Fitz, and they've seen even less gunfire than me, and I'm not rocket scientist, but is this your first mission together?

Hunter laughs. "This is like something out of an action movie."

Simmons meekly speaks up.

Simmons: No, of course not. It's our second.

Skye: I was your first? That's sweet.

"It is." Both Skye and Daisy agreed at the same time with the same voice.

"This whole thing is extremely bizarre, so I'm not even going to waste my breath by saying that this was pretty weird." Lincoln snorted.

Ward: You're amused?

Skye: I'm terrified. I am in way over my head, but I have been on this team just as long as any of you. I might as well be Team Captain.

"Maybe not." Skye muttered.

Simmons scoffs and looks away as Fitz shoots a look to Ward.

Skye: I was joking, but maybe that's not a bad idea, because these guys do not like each other much.

Ward: This isn't about that.

He turns and looks to Coulson.

"What is it about then agent?" Coulson asked with a poker face.

Ward: I'm a specialist. Today, I could have eliminated the enemy threat myself if I was working alone. But, I had non-combat ready agents –

Fitz: Whoa, whoa. Wait. You work alone?

Simmons has walked around to stand beside Fitz.

Simmons: So typical. Who do you think designs your equipment?

Fitz: Or the polymers for your weaponry?

Ward scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Skye has walked around the table as Ward focuses on the other two, about to dissolve into a fight again.

Simmons: Yeah.

Fitz: People like us do it.

Simmons: Try going into the field with just your bare bum.

Skye snorted.

Skye is standing close to Coulson and speaks quietly.

Skye: See the proving the point I just made?

Coulson scowled. Not at Skye or Daisy, just at the situation in general.

Coulson: You're not wrong. We still need to iron out the kinks. But, Ward, you can speak six languages. Simmons, you have two PhDs in fields I can't pronounce, and Fitz, you are a rocket scientist. So work it out.

"Wow, thanks for including me." Skye snarked.

With that he walks out of the room, with Skye looking after him with disbelief.

Skye: I- I'm – I'm good at stuff too!

Jemma patted Skye's shoulder. "I'm sure you are dear."

Cut to the cockpit, it is not nighttime and May is still flying, she reaches up and flips a switch. We next cut to Skye, she is lying on her bed in her bunk holding her hula girl. She takes a deep sigh and flicks the hula girl making her move. She reaches over and puts the hula girl on the windowsill.

"Didn't like making the sad stuff." Daisy admitted quietly.

Cut to the living room area of the plane. Camilla's soldiers are there talking, eating and drinking. We see Camilla and Coulson walking, he is obviously giving her the tour. They both look in on the soldiers then Coulson waves her up a spiral staircase.

What is taking them so long? The Bus isn't even that big.

Cut to back inside the lab. Fitz puts one of the drones onto what almost looks like a docking station. Simmons is next to him at a big lit table, she also has a drone in a dock next to her. While she speaks she moves her hands around above the table causing a hologram for her to manipulate. (Think Iron Man 2).

Simmons: So, should we work, or just continue to –

Fitz gets his own hologram going and as they speak both of them work with their different views.

Fitz: I'm saying I said there would come a moment when we would regret the decision to go in the field. I didn't think that would happen in week one.

"I'm sorry I was part of that." Daisy nodded to Simmons.

Suddenly a cup of water moved from the snacks table and splashed Daisy.

"What the bloody hell?" A very pale Hunter asked staring at the empty plastic cup.

A second later a note was in Daisy's hand.

Don't get all broody and moody again.

-S

"You're getting way too good at this stuff Simmons!" Daisy groaned.

"That...Was me?" Jemma stared at Daisy blankly.

"Future you."

Simmons scoffs and rolls her eyes.

Simmons: Oh, God.

She pulls up a screen and there is something flashing.

Simmons: This seam in the sedimentary layers suggests some sort of molten cave-in a few decades back.

Fitz has a hologram between his fingers and moves it to be in front of Simmons. He spread it out and it looks like a flat square box. It has bright blue glowing lines inside it.

Fitz: Yeah, well, this here, its optical amplification.

Simmons grabs it and rotates it.

Fitz: Now, I think, well, I'm most likely dead on, that the Tesseract energy excites plasma with an inverse population of energy levels.

Simmons: A laser.

"Interesting." Bobbi smiled.

Fitz: A ray of, pure energy, two terajoules. See the amplifier? We're lucky the drones didn't trigger it while taking electromagnetic readings.

"And terrifying." She added.

While he talks some of the areas of blue go red.

Fitz: This is a weapon powerful enough to –

Simmons: Enough to melt through 50 feet of solid rock to bury itself. Imagine what it could do to a person.

Fitz: Yeah, or an airplane.

"The beginning!" Trip exclaimed. Some eyes widened around the room.

They share a worried look.

Fitz: For example.

Very terrifying.

Fitz takes it between his fingers and moves it away.

Cut to a living room section of the plane. Ward sits on a couch reading a book when Skye enters.

Skye: "Hunger Games"?

Would Ward read a book from a girl's perspective?

Ward looks up to her and we see her holding a bottle in her hand.

Ward: Matterhorn.

"Sounds...Boring."

The camera pans over to show us Camilla's soldiers sitting at a table playing cards.

Ward: One of a hundred books my S.O. gave me that I'm just getting around to.

She gives him a look of questioning.

"What's an S.O.?"

Ward: S.O., Supervising Officer.

"Okay."

Skye: Got it. Hackers have lingo too, but I'll pick yours up. I feel like you and me, wrong foot. Can I…

She raises up the bottle she brought.

Skye: Buy you a drink?

Ward smiled,

Ward gives her a tiny smile, waves her over and puts his book aside.

Skye: What I said before, when I said the uprising was…whatever I said, a good thing. I don't want you to think I'm oblivious. What I was talking about was the tweets

Ward: Tweets. Are you trying to make things better or worse?

"Clearer." Skye smiled not looking away from the screen.

Skye: Peruvians have organized for the first time in decades. Thousands of suffering people who have never met uniting over a common idea? It's mind-blowing. And, I don't want to bring it up because I don't want to see your hate face…

"It's beautiful." Skye whispered.

She shoots him a look as his brow draws down in a frown.

Skye: But, that's what the Rising Tide is all about.

Ward: Okay.

"Okay?"

Skye: Usually, one person doesn't have the solution. But, 100 people with 1% of the solution, that'll get it done.

Fury looked deep in thought while Hill was watching Daisy, trying to pinpoint the agent's current point of view.

She's smiling at him hoping he sees what she's trying to tell him, he continues to have his blank face.

Skye: I think that's beautiful, pieces solving a puzzle.

Simmons stared at Skye for a second, before smiling at Fitz who gave a subtle nod. While they fought alot, they understood the importance and beauty of it.

While she was talking she was also pouring drinks. Ward lets out a sigh, leans up and takes a glass from her.

Ward: You and I see the world differently is all.

The scientists frown, but don't comment.

Skye: I've never been in a war zone, during a war, until today. That was crazy. I take it you've seen that a lot?

Daisy sighs, but she didn't seem sad or regretful. She just seemed tired.

He sighs again and takes a drink out of his glass. He lets out a grunt when he leans forward to set the glass down. Skye looks worriedly at his side, we can see a small circle of blood on his shirt.

Skye: Wh – did you get shot?

Skye and Simmons both looked shell shocked while others almost didn't react.

Ward: Skin deep. Nothing to worry about.

He says this in a very nonchalant way.

Skye: You got shot! Did that happen protecting us?

"That sucks." Skye frowned. Ward raised an eyebrow.

Ward: Said don't worry about it.

Skye: Well no wonder you were so pissed.

Ward: I wasn't pissed. I was trained to be the whole solution, to eliminate variables.

Ward's eyes widen as he realized something, something that made him sit up straighter, watch the screen more intently.

He looks over to the soldiers playing cards.

Ward: And today, they keep adding up.

He blinked, the frowned .

Skye looks up at the ceiling.

Skye: We're turning.

May tilted her head slightly.

Ward: We've entered restricted airspace, so we have to follow certain flight paths, regulation. This plane is capable of fully automated flight, but May has to be on the stick herself tonight.

Skye lets out a little laugh.

Skye: You've got an S.O. May's got to be on the stick. Lots of good lingo on this plane.

Skye smiled.

Ward: Yeah. We just can't seem to understand each other.

Cut to inside Coulson's office on The Bus. He's holding something up showing it to Camilla.

Coulson: First walkie-talkie wristwatch. 1936, Poland.

"Nice." Skye grinned. "Ancient, but nice."

He hands it over to her.

Coulson: They only made 20, I think. Still works.

"Cool."

Camilla has it in her hand turning it back and forth looking it over.

Camilla: I forgot you're such a sentimentalists, Phillip.

She hands him back the wristwatch and he gives her a little laugh.

"That is impossible to forget." Fury deadpanned.

Camilla: Romanticizing history, huh?

She walks deeper into his office looking things over. She reaches to touch something, it doesn't move.

Coulson: Yeah, most of its glued down.

"Um, why?"

"There has to be a reason why things have to be glued down?"

He puts his watch away.

Coulson: There was an elegance to things back then.

"There still is." Daisy said. "Just not as much."

Camilla walks around behind him.

Camilla: There we agree.

Coulson: With everything around us changing so quickly, it doesn't hurt to have a few touchstones to the past.

"Sometimes it does."

While he speaks he turns to face her and leans against his desk.

Coulson: Reminds me what's important.

Camilla: The last thing I want to do is relive days gone by. A few nights, maybe.

"I don't want to watch this." Simmons looked simply mortified. Fitz didn't fare any better.

She is standing in the doorway, flirting heavily. She reaches behind herself and closes the door giving him a smile. He's got a smile too, but it doesn't read as true.

Coulson: I see what you're doing.

Camilla: I am reminiscing.

"Uh-huh."

She leans against a pillar and gives him a big smile.

Camilla: This plane is such a step up from the R.V. we used to work out of when you were stationed in Cusco.

Coulson: I don't remember much working.

She laughs.

"I really don't want to watch this."

Coulson: I also don't remember you being this direct.

He gives her a sly smile and her large smile falters a bit.

Mack and Trip snickered.

Cut back to the living room where Ward, Skye and the soldiers playing cards are at. Ward is watching the soldiers closely, he focuses on one of their drinks, it hasn't been touched. While Ward is watching one of the soldiers gives a barely perceptible nod to the other, but it was perceptible to Ward. When he speaks his voice is very calm.

Ward: Skye, hand me the bottle.

Skye gives him a confused look and a little laugh.

Skye: Okay, turbo, but you're still nursing the one you got.

"Just do it." Ward whispered.

Skye watched him confused.

She picks up the bottle and he takes it out of her hand before she can even offer it.

Ward: I'm not the only one.

He throws a look over to the soldiers, without moving his head, and Skye gets the gist.

"Oh, come on!" Skye rolled her eyes. "We- they just got outta a fight."

Cut to inside the lab. Fitz and Simmons are off to one side, they appear to be looking at something in a microscope. Fitz is rubbing his eyes when one of Camilla's soldiers stands in the doorway.

Cut back to Coulson's office. Camilla is still trying to seduce Coulson. For his part, he looks uninterested.

There was a tiny smirk on May's face.

Camilla: We're stuck above the clouds for the next few hours. We might as well enjoy ourselves.

He gives her a disbelieving grin.

Camilla: We could make a few more memories to add to your collection.

"Seriously?" Coulson sort of grimaced.

She takes a few steps forward putting her hand on her hip.

Camilla: What do you think?

Coulson: I think…

He stands from the desk stepping closer to her.

Coulson: Ward already knows you'll have to eliminate May from the equation to have a chance, which gives him about 20 seconds to get to her first.

May scowled.

Cut to the living room with Ward, Skye and the soldiers. As soon as we cut to the room Ward grabs Skye pushing her out of the way. One of the soldiers rushes Ward who is prepared for him, the bottle breaks on the table as they fight.

Cut to another soldier. He's outside a door and puts a device on the door. We hear a whirring sound and see the tip of a drill poke through the other side of the door.

"Don't they make your doors, pretty much everything proof?" Skye asked.

"No." Victoria Hand answered.

Cut to inside the cockpit, once again May reaches up and flips a switch.

"I'm not hearing him."

Cut back to Ward fighting the soldiers. He hits one in the face sending him over a half wall. The other rushes at him and Ward tackles into him driving him into a post.

Cut back to the hole in the door, we can no see some sort of smoky gas being fed into the room, the cockpit. May passes out at the controls.

"Frickety frack!" Simmons groaned.

Cut to Coulson's office, he is now actively fighting against Camilla. We hear some snaps as he grabs her wrist and bends it back. This makes her off balance and he throws her to the couch in his office.

"Nice!" The young hacker grinned.

Cut back to Ward, he knocks out the second soldier that rushed him. Coulson rushes down the spiral staircase with Camilla right behind. Everyone freezes and looks around. Coulson looks to a monitor and see one of the soldiers is holding Fitz by a knife to his neck. Another soldier runs up behind Skye and grabs a hold of her arms pinning her. Ward angrily assesses the situation and sighs in frustration. Coulson looks over to Camilla who is holding her injured side, he walks toward her.

Coulson: We were allies. We had history. When did you decide to throw that away?

Coulson scowled at the sight in front of him.

Her face no longer shows smiles or flirtation, it shows determination.

Camilla: As soon as I saw your team.

Coulson looks back at the monitor showing Fitz still held captive.

"I'm sorry." Daisy told Coulson.

We open to see The Bus still in the sky. We cut to the cockpit and see one of the soldiers is now flying it. Just like May was fond of doing he reaches up and flips a switch.

May's eye twitched.

Cut to Coulson. He is hit in the face, which is already bloody, while tied to something. The soldier moves away and we see Camilla watching, she nods to the soldier. We pan to Coulson who spits blood out of his mouth.

Coulson: The reason I'm still alive is because you need me to verify the change in routes for your pilot when HQ calls in any minute now.

"Good." Both Hand and Hill smirked.

While he speaks we see they are in the Planning Room, Camilla is walking around the table looking at things.

Camilla: I'd appreciate that

Coulson: But if I don't S.H.I.E.L.D. will shoot this aircraft out of the sky. That'll take the 0-8-4 out of your hands. Maybe I should let them.

"Well, that's going to be painful." Fiz winced.

She stands next to the lit table and leans against it, showing no signs of worry.

Camilla: Oh, no, I think you'll make the call. You already handed me your plane for the life of one of your little lab rats. If I open the cargo hold, you'll lose them all. And your such a sentimentalist.

May scowled.

Coulson glances away from her then looks back up to her.

Cut to the cargo hold. We pass by Lola to see Ward, Fitz, Simmons and Skye all tied with their hands behind their backs.

"Not cool." Skye groaned.

Fitz: This is all my fault. I should've learned Kung Fu.

"It's not the only thing that can help you defend yourself. Tech can do that pretty well." Daisy winked at Fitz.

The engineer grinned at her.

Simmons: Oh, yeah, but I shouldn't have pushed you into the field in the first place. You weren't ready.

"Hey, I'm as ready as you are." Fitz pouted.

"Sure, sure."

They all start to speak at the same time.

Ward: It was job to make a proper threat assessment.

Fitz: Uh, we – we weren't ready.

Skye: This wouldn't have happened if Agent May wasn't on the stick.

"It wouldn't have." Daisy confirmed.

The corners of May's lips twitched.

Simmons looks over and we see that May is still out cold lying next to Skye.

Skye: She would've busted out some of her ninja know-how.

May puts a hand over the lower half of her face, (unsuccessfully) trying to hide a smile.

Fitz: Agent May? No. No, no, she transferred from administration.

Simmons looks over to Skye with a smile.

Skye: Well, I've seen her destroy a guy, so…

"Badass." Skye finished her future self's sentence.

All three of them look over to Ward. He glances at them then sighs.

Ward: You've heard of The Cavalry?

Fitz & Simmons: Yeah.

Fitz: Everyone in the academy talks about st –

Fitz & Simmons: She's the Calvary?

"Don't call me that."

Daisy was one of the few to nod. SHe gave May a sad smile.

May froze.

How much did the future girl know?

They all look quickly over to where May is laying when they hear her voice.

May: I told you, never to call me that.

"That never changed." Daisy smirked.

Simmons gives a little giggle.

Simmons: I can't believe it. Oh, we're sure to get out of here now.

Skye and Fitz nodded.

Ward on the other hand, was more realistic.

She leans around Skye to look at May.

Simmons: Um, how do we get out of here?

May sits up with a grunt.

May: We can't go through the doors. They're bolted, tied to the pressurization lines. You two geniuses have nothing?

'They always have something." Daisy smiled.

Aw, thanks.

-S

Fitz and Simmons share a look.

Fitz: Yeah, well, it's hard to concentrate in these intense situations.

Ward speaks softly to Fitz with compassion.

Ward: Hey, don't freeze up. Take a breath. You don't need to come up with the whole solution.

"No way!" Skye grinned.

He leans past Fitz and Simmons to look at Skye.

Ward: Just part of it. Right?

Skye nods and smiles.

"Yesss!"

Skye: Yeah. Pieces solving a puzzle.

"We can do puzzles." Simmons smiled, feeling assured.

Everyone starts to glance around the cargo hold.

Cut to Coulson and Camilla in the Planning Room.

Coulson: You knew this was a weapon all along.

"How though?"

Camilla: But you got to it first. I had to play nice. Yes, Coulson. For once, I'm actually ahead of you. My Country commissioned that weapon decades ago.

Director Fury and Commander Hill shared a look.

She looks over at a soldier that entered then turns her attention back to Coulson.

Camilla: After the fall of Hydra, many scientist followed their Nazi friends to hide on this side of the world.

"And now we have a place to start.' Nick Fury grinned. It was scary.

She is looking out to the room beyond Coulson, we see the 0-8-4 sitting on a table.

Coulson: German engineering.

"Damn." Fitz and May mutter.

While she's looking at the 0-8-4 Coulson is using this distraction to try and loosen the rope holding his hands.

Coulson smirked.

Camilla: The weapon was lost during a clash in the jungle, until today. With it, we'll end the rebel uprising and finally stabilize my Country.

Coulson: You mean rule your Country.

She looks down and away from the 0-8-4 turning back to face Coulson.

Camilla: You stay in your borders, I'll stay in mine.

"Doesn't work that way, I'm afraid." Coulson sighed.

Coulson: Those borders are disappearing. Aliens descended on New York, remember? They don't care whose colors you wear, they just care who's in the way. We should be working together, not fighting.

"Too true."

Cut back to inside the cargo hold, they are all looking up to the left as Simmons speaks.

Simmons: Well, that's clearly the worst idea I've heard yet.

Skye: But, it could work.

Ward: Reyes is gonna kill us the minute we land, regardless, and blame it on rebels. This way we have a fighting chance. I'll take it.

Simmons laughed. "Blame it on the rebels."

He looks at Fitz.

Ward: What's first?

Fitz: We can't get upstairs without going in the lab.

Ward frowned agin.

Simmons: And the only way to release the lab doors is from upstairs.

Skye: The first thing is we're tied to the cargo door, so unless –

While they have been discussing May has been making very small moves. We hear a loud crack that cuts Skye off as she looks over to where it originated from, May. They all flinch.

Everybody's eyes widen.

Fitz: What the hell was that?

Ward: Her wrist.

Agents in the room stare in awe and disbelief, other with respect.

One of the soldiers is up on a catwalk at the top of the cargo hold, he pauses and looks down on the team. When we look we see that everyone is there, except for May. We pan back to the soldier and see her legs come into frame wrapping around his neck. She throws him over the railing then drops down beside him. She grips her wrist with her other hand and gives it a twist causing more cracks.

May: What's next?

Skye, Fitz and Simmons are looking at her with awe and shock, Ward has a small smile.

The expressions were mirrored in the room. Trip and Hunter were watching with wide eyes.

Cut to the Planning Room. Coulson is still down on the floor and Camilla is knelt down in front of him.
Camilla: Was it 11 years ago, now? You swooped in with S.H.I.E.L.D. with so much confidence, so much mystery. You had a 100 men at your disposal. And no –

Coulson: A handpicked team. And, yes, they're that good.

"Why, thank you!" Fitz stood up to take a bow, but was quickly pulled down by a laughing Simmons.

Camilla: Oh, Phil. You're not even aware. Your renewed idealism, your collectables, your airborne man-cave, surrounding yourself with young, attractive agents…

"...Airborn man-cave?"

She reaches down and pats his leg.

Camilla: You're having a mid-life crisis.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with her." May smirked.

She stands.

Coulson: More an afterlife thing, really.

Daisy rolled her eyes.

She walks away but remains in the room.

Camilla: And I'm not even going to mention the red corvette.

"Oh god, she's right."

Coulson: Her name's Lola.

She sits on the far side of the room and laughs.

Camilla: Of course it is. It's textbook. You built this team so you could feel relevant, to feel needed.

Coulson lost his smile.

Coulson: They don't need me. They need time.

Camilla: Well, time is not on their side.

Coulson: No, but you gave them something better, a common enemy.

"Just as good as time sometimes." Daisy mused.

Agent Melinda May agreed.

He gives her a little smirk.

Cut to the cargo hold, they are all in a circle talking things out.

Skye: Okay, we're sure, right? Everyone's sure?

Simmons: We're all on board.

Fitz: Yep. Let's do this fast.

Ward: No turning back, no freezing up.

"So we got a plan." Skye muttered.

"A stupid plan, most likely." Simmons frowned.

Fitz: Because if we do then…

He's nodding his head, it's obvious.

Ward: All of us die.

"Well then."

"Relax, will ya?" Daisy scowled. "There's no way my supercool TV show is going to end on the second episode."

Hill, who's sitting next to her, snorts.

Simmons: We know.

Ward looks at all of the, Skye for a bit longer.

Ward: All right.

The sound of a car engine revving gets their attention. May is standing on the driver's side door runner of the SUV looking at them all.

May: You guys talk a lot.

"We really do." Skye agreed.

Simmons rolled her eyes.

She gets into the car closing the door. Simmons and Fitz panic as Ward sweeps them both past him and out of the way. May puts the SUV into drive sending it into the glass doors of the lab. She's able to easily break the glass giving them a way in.

Cut to the Planning Room. There is a jolt on the ship after May hits the lab. Camilla sits up straighter trying to figure out what happened.

"You are all crazy." Fury deadpanned.

Cut back to the cargo hold, Ward, Fitz, Simmons and Skye enter.

Cut back to the Planning Room, Camilla begins to panic.

Camilla: No, no, no!

"Haha! Down you go, you foe!" Fitz yelled in triumph.

She rushes to the door of the room speaking to her soldiers.

Camilla: That's exactly what they want.

"Or is it?"

Cut to inside the lab. Simmons stands on a table with a drill, she is using it on the ceiling of the lab, it looks like an air vent. Fitz has some sort of briefcase on one of the tables and opens it up. Skye is at some lockers which she opens and looks through. Simmons gets the grate off the ceiling. May goes to the other set of glass doors and looks through. We find out that the briefcase Fitz opened is one that houses his drones. He gets his tables out and starts firing them up. (Just for fun, in a brief glance we see this one is named "Sneezy".) May gets the door open and goes out. Fitz gets Sneezy in the air and sends him into the open air vent. Ward is kneeling on the floor above a black bag, he unzips it and pulls out some rope. Skye also has a bag she is digging into and it looks like she pulls out some black straps. Ward also seems to find some sort of chain that he takes. We see Ward strapping the black straps around Skye, Fitz and Simmons waists.

"You're going to blow a hole in the damn plane." Fury groaned defeated. "You are all out of you damn minds."

"It's brilliant." Bobbi disagreed. "Risky, but brilliant."

Fury glared at her.

Cut to Camilla in the Planning Room. The female voice comes over the radio.

Radio Female: S.H.I.E.L.D. 6-1-6 we have radar contact. Requesting confirmation on a change of course. Over.

Camilla has walked over to the radio. When the message ends she pulls out her gun and aims it at Coulson and cocks it.

Coulson looked unimpressed at the moment.

Camilla: Answer it, or they all learn what a 30,000-foot drop feels like.

"She;s willing to make it a suicide mission?"

Radio Female: Agent Coulson, are you there?

Camilla turns her attention back to the radio. When she does Coulson continues working on the rope around his hands.

"Nice!"

Radio Female: You have course confirmation. You are cleared direct to the Slingshot.

Coulson seems to hear something, he looks over his shoulder and sees Sneezy.

"Make you robots quieter." Coulson Fitz quietly. Fitz nodded without a word.

We get the point of view from Sneezy. He ducks under a table and looks at one of the soldiers.

Cut back to Coulson, he's gotten his hands nearly untied, he works fast to get the free.

Radio Female: Agent Coulson? Everything all right up there?

"How come you don't have words to use in situations like this?" Skye asked. "I mean say, he says everything's fine in some specific words, your base knows something is wrong, and they prepared?"

While everybody staring dumbly at Skye, Hill whispered to Fury, "That is not a bad idea."

He freezes when Camilla turns back to look at him and point her gun.

Radio Female: We heard you had a little dustup on the ground.

"That's what she said in the beginning!" Simmons bit her lip.

Coulson: Yeah, we're all good. It's gonna be blue skies from here on out.

Cut to Skye, Fitz and Simmons. It looks like they are now on that catwalk inside the cargo hold.

Fitz: Simmons, forget what I said before. This, is the moment we'll regret.

Daisy snorted.

We hear a beeping noise from his tablet.

Cut to Sneezy, he's hovering above something metal, quite possibly the 0-8-4, although it's hard to tell for sure. Sneezy sends out some sort of pulse and the 0-8-4 begins to get glowing blue lines flowing over it. We hear energy building up and it ejects out of the 0-8-4 in a blue ray. The ray hits the chair in front of it, passes through the chair and punches a hole in The Bus. This is the explosion we saw at the top of the episode. The solider that Sneezy observed is sucked out of the hole in the plane.

"Shiiiiii-"

Alarms start blaring in the Planning Room as the various screens show the damage to the plane. Camilla is tossed around and tries to hold onto something. Coulson is up in the air holding onto the rope that had bind his hand. He's groaning with the stress of holding on, if he were to let go he is angled to go right out the hole.

"No no no no no!"

Open outside The Bus showing us the hole. We cut inside to see stuff still flying out the hole. We cut to some sort of monitor that shows a green light. The camera pans over to show Ward, we are now with the others in the cargo hold/lab area.

Skye: It worked.

Simmons gives Ward a smile.

"Get Coulson outta there!" Agents Hill and Hand both looked surprised at how panicky the director looked.

Simmons: The drop in cabin pressure released the doors.

Ward: I'll take care of the soldiers, you guys get to the 0-8-4.

Fit: And Coulson?

"Yes, what about Coulson?"

Ward: Let's hope he can handle himself.

Cut to Coulson still in the air hanging on by the rope.

Coulson winced.

Camilla has had no luck finding something to hold on to, she starts sliding on the floor.

Ward opens the door to where the breach is and braces himself against the wind. The other three follow behind him. One of the remaining soldiers begins to fire at them.

Ward: Get back!

The soldier stops firing and runs toward them. He and Ward begin to fight as Skye peeks out. A second soldier appears and brings his gun up to point at Ward. Ward is able to jump over the little half wall and pins the gun against the couch, then kicks that solider in the face. First solider has recovered and lunges at Ward. Ward sees this and uses the man's momentum to force him to the couch, he uses one of the seatbelts to tie the man's wrist. He knees the soldier in the throat then binds his other hand.

Ward: Go now! Find the 0-8-4.

"Okay, that was pretty cool." Skye admitted.

Skye, Fitz and Simmons make their way out bracing against the wind. The second soldier tackles Ward from behind.

"That was not."

As Skye, Fitz and Simmons pass by we see they are all tethered together. They are getting thrown around and Fitz even gets knocked to the ground.

Fitz: Help!

"Leo!" Jemma hugged Fitz as they watched the screen.

Cut to inside the cockpit, the solider in there flips a switch as the door behind him opens. He pulls his gun but May is able to deflect it away. She elbows him in the face sending him backwards into the controls. The plane begins to dive sending everyone scrambling.

"Awesome!" Skye grinned.

Cut to the Living Room/Planning Room area. Coulson is still up in the air as Camilla passes under him. She holds her hand up to him.

Camilla: Coulson!

Coulson: Got you!

"Hoooold on, hold on to me, cause I'm a little unsteady, a little unsteady." Daisy sang out.

People gaped at her.

"What? It fitz."

Leo rolled his eyes.

He grips one of her hands and she wraps the other around his wrist holding tight.

Coulson: Camilla! Hold on! It's okay!

Cut to Ward still fighting Solider 2. He kicks the man down. We pan over to see the 0-8-4 is embedded in the wall and Simmons is trying to get it. She lets out a big yell and pulls it from the wall.

Simmons: I've got it! Fitz!

"Yes!" Fitz beamed at Simmons.

Skye: We got it, reel us back in!

Fitz: I've got you!

As Skye is waiting the pamphlet from Ward flies into her face, she takes it away and looks down at it. She goes to the buckle at her waist freeing herself.

"What the hell are you doing?" Maria Hill practically yelled in Daisy's ear. SO did many others.

Daisy gestured to the screen.

Simmons: What are you doing? We need your help!

Skye: Trust me!

She goes the opposite way from Simmons.

"You shouldn't have at the time." Hill heard Daisy murmer.

"What the hell does THAT mean?" Maria whisper shouted.

Daisy stared at her sadly. "It means," She started, "That at that tme I worked for nobody but myself."

Coulson and Camilla are now on the floor scrambling to get better holding. Coulson pulls on his rope and uses it to tie her hands where his had been.

Coulson: Don't want you to know what a 30,000-foot drop feels like.

"Don't think anybody does." Mack agreed.

Cut back to the cockpit. May gives the solider another elbow to his face, this time he falls down to the floor out cold. She quickly moves around him and gets to the controls leveling the plane. Once she's just about got it the solider gets up, grips her hair and slams her face into the controls. She, of course, gets the upper hand, bashing his face on the controls sending out one of the airplane beeping noises in the process. She delivers a hard knee to his face, this time he's out cold for sure. She looks at him a moment before getting back behind the controls.

"Damn."

"Badass."

Cut back to Ward still fighting against soldier 2, who appears to have the upper hand. We pan over to Skye. She's at some sort of box on the wall, she opens it and inside is something bright yellow and plastic. She pulls it out and starts moving with it. We see a solider pulling on a black line and Simmons falls to the ground. He is pulling on the section that Skye abandoned.

"Shit!"

Simmons: Fitz!

Fitz moves deeper into the room pulling on the line between him and Simmons, bringing her close to him, but the solider still has a hold of the line. Skye is moving along the floor with the bag. The solider has reached Fitz and Simmons and is pulling on the clips that hold them inside their line.

Simmons: Cut him loose!

"Good idea." Bobbi muttered, aware that she's way too into this show than she should be.

Fitz beats him to the punch and opens the carabiner on his waist. This frees both Fitz and gives slack to the solider. This sends him backwards knocking into Ward. This momentum pushes Ward into Solider two who is now holding onto Ward's arm tightly. This shift has pushed him close to the opening in the plane. Ward uses one of his hands to hold onto a post in the room.

FitzSimmons try to apologize to Ward, while he watches the screen.

Fitz: Sorry!

Simmons: Sorry, Ward!

Ward hasn't let go of the soldiers hand, the solider uses his free hand to grip Ward's arm and begin climbing back toward him.

Some people sigh in relief.

Ward: Hold on!

The soldier has gripped Ward's shirt, it goes tearing away sending him out the open hole, Ward stares in shock as he goes.

"Good god." Hannah muttered in a quiet voice, while everybody else watched with silence.

We pan over to Skye, she has opened the bag and it starts to inflate into a boat. As it starts to inflate Ward loses his grip on the post and flies toward the opening. The boat arrives just before he does saving him.

Ward's eyes dart between Daisy and Skye in disbelief and...amusement.

Solider one still isn't giving up. He's on his belly pulling himself closer to a gun on the floor. A foot with a dress shoe arrives to pin his hand as the solider looks up at the owner with anger. Coulson's fist slams down knocking the solider out, he picks up the gun. Ward, breathing hard, looks around astonished at what happened. Skye looks relieved and leans against a wall. The plane banks and we see May has control once again. Fitz and Simmons both pop their heads over the half wall panting and seeing what happened.

"Well, that was..." Licnoln trailed off.

"Action filled?" Trip suggested.

"Mindblowing?"

"Weird?" Daisy added to that.

"All of that."

Skye has walked over to Ward and holds her hand down to him offering to help him up, he takes the hand and gets to his feet.

Skye: I read the safety pamphlet.

Simmons beamed at Skye and Daisy.

Dasiy gave her a tiny salute.

Skye smiled.

Ward: I think you may be the first.

Ward snorted, while Fitz and Simmons looked slightly affronted.

They all meet up in the Planning Room panting with exertion and relief.

Coulson: No other way in, huh?

Coulson sets a glass down on the table.

Coulson: I was just starting to warm up to this place.

Daisy grinned again.

Skye reaches over and grabs a coaster, she moves the glass to sit on top of it. She gives him a little smile.

Fitz: The 0-8-4 is cooling and stable. But we should call H.Q. and get it to the slingshot as soon as possible.

Victoria Hand nodded in agreement.

Coulson turns and looks down at Camilla who is still tied to the pole, she slowly looks up at him defeated.

Coulson: I told you they were good.

Simmona and Fitz smile at Coulson.

He gives her a little grin as we pan over to Ward, Skye, Fitz and Simmons who are smiling and giving relieved looks to one another.

Cut to a pan across a desert landscape, a few small building dot the horizon, along with The Bus whose ramp is lowered. We get a runner on the bottom of the screen.

The Slingshot Location: Classified.

Daisy, Fury and Hill nodded satisfied.

Cut to inside the cargo hold, Coulson is leaning over Lola looking it over for damage. Skye walks down the spiral staircase and walks to Coulson.

Skye: Not a scratch, but your plane's totaled. I hope S.H.I.E.L.D. insurance covers hijackings.

Coulson: Sure, under "incidentals".

Trip, Hunter, Skye and Lincoln laughed.

Skye laughs.

Skye: What exactly am I signing up for?

Skye leaned forward a little bit.

Coulson: Like I said, front-row seat to the craziest show on Earth.

She snorted, "Yeah, I bet."

Skye: Yeah, but I didn't expect the show to get this crazy this fast all for an object you're just going to destroy.

Coulson: Slingshot is protocol. A weapon like the 0-8-4 is too dangerous for any person or country to have. People like Reyes would always be after it.

Hand nodded in agreement, while Fury looked mildly uncomfortable.

While speaking he has pulled out a handkerchief, he wets it with his tongue and takes it to Lola.

Skye: What happened with Reyes, anyway?

Coulson: She's being held at a S.H.I.E.L.D. detainment facility. I expect the Peruvian government will negotiate for her release. She probably won't spend much time in jail.

"That sucks." Hunter scowled.

Skye: No, I mean, what happened with you and Reyes?

She gives him a smile.

Daisy smirked at Coulson who looked really uncomfortable.

Skye: You guys totally did it back in the day, right?

He looks up at her and raises his eyebrows.

Coulson: That's classified.

She laughs as he walks away.

As she did in the present, along with Hunter and Trip.

We pan over to Ward and May standing near each other putting things away into briefcases.

Ward: Looks like Skye might end up as more than a consultant, despite our reservations.

May nods and continues to pack.

Daisy smirked. "Ended up as a national superhero."

Ward coughed in surprise. May's eyes were wider than usual.

"For a while anyway."

Ward: She could turn into a solid asset, with some serious work.

May: Well, if she wants to be a field agent, she'll need a supervising officer, someone disciplined, someone good.

Like yourself, Daisy thinks without saying anything.

She's staring at him while he stares at Skye, he's nodding in agreement until he looks over at her. The two stare at each other for a moment.

Ward: All right. I'll do it.

May nods and goes back to packing.

"Wait, what?" Skye looks at Ward surprised.

He rolled his eyes.

Ward: Just to clarify, you were, uh, talking about me, right?

May smiles but says nothing.

Daisy snorted and May just smiled.

The camera pans over to show Fitz and Simmons walking down a spiral staircase. Fitz is holding a cooler and Simmons is holding a beer.

Fitz: We blew up a plane.

Simmons: I had a new experience.

Fitz: Eat that, Professor Vaughn.

"Oh my god," Bobbi snorted. "That professor of yours is going to eat a lot in the next couple of mounths."

"Three or four years." Daisy added.

Simmons: You had a new experience. But it was new for all of us.

They both have smiles as they head out of the plane.

FitzSimmons fistbump.

May: They're happy.

Fitz turns and looks at May and Ward.

Fitz: Hey, come on. You guys don't want to miss this.

"Miss what?" Skye asked cluelessly.

Fitz and Simmons walk to the end of the ramp and sit on the edge, their legs dangling. Skye, Ward and May all walk to join them.

Fitz: So, it'll take about 180 days to reach the sun. Now, yes, of course, it would have been faster if they'd use hydrogen-fueled APUs, but they're having fun.

"You're firing the death ray at the sun?" Skye asked, no longer think that S.H.I.E.L.D. were the bad guys.

Fitz nodded at her.

Simmons has reached into the cooler and is pulling out beers for the others.

Skye: How many of those have you guys had?

Simmons offers one to Skye who turns her down, May and Ward both have one. Simmons scoffs.

Simmons: Skye, it's important, when in the field, to unwind from time to time.

Trip laughs, "Oh yeah."

Fitz: Yeah, yeah, especially after a hard day of everyone almost dying.

"Isn't that pretty much everyday?" Daisy asked Fitz innocently.

He shrugged. "For some people. The elites maybe."

Coulson walks up behind Skye.

Simmons: Which doesn't happen every day, right? It's an anomaly, an irregularity. Not, the norm.

Her enthusiasm diminishes when she sees Coulson.

Coulson: Speaking of "not the norm" whose idea was it to blow a hole in the plane?

All of their faces drop.

"Aw,nuts."

Skye: May said that the doors were tied to the pressurization so I thought –

Simmons: So we thought it was the only way to release them.

Ward: It was everyone's idea, sir.

Fitz: Yeah, quite genius, really.

Coulson smiled, but nobody noticed, staring at the screen in expectation.

Colson: Nice work.

We hear a voice over a loudspeaker.

Voice: All clear for liftoff.

"Cool." Skye repeated for what seemed like the tenth time.

Fitz: Oh, time for blastoff.

Fitz pinches his nose closed giving him a funny sound to his voice.

Fitz: Launching in three, two…

Simmons snorts.

We see a rocket taking flight in front of them.

Fitz: The trajectory will take it beyond the Lagrange Point so that it doesn't hit Herschel.

Simmons: And there haven't been any coronal mass ejections, so it shouldn't lose telemetry.

Ward: Guys, English.

Hunter sighed, "Don't bother mate."

They all watch it fly away with a smile, Ward claps Fitz on the back.

Fitz: Ow.

We hear the noise of something vibrating, Skye looks down and takes her cell phone out of her pocket. There is a message on her phone:

"Daisy?"

As she looks at her screen we see the area where it says "9" with the brackets, is counting down. She looks at the team, who are all still watching the launch, and backs away from them. She looks at them for a long moment then begins to type.

I'M IN.

She puts the phone back in her pocket and looks away thinking.

"Sorry?" Daisy winced, "But at that tiem, I wasn't really working for anybody than myself."

Ward patted her shoulder.

Daisy didn't move.

Cut back inside the plane, men are working on the repairs. We see Coulson standing there while the work goes on off to his side. We hear a male voice speak, fans of the movie should know this voice but since they haven't shown the owner yet, neither will I.

Man: Really? Really, Coulson? Six Days?

Fury grinned alittle. It was still scary.

The camera pans around Coulson to see that it none other than Director Fury addressing Coulson. He is not happy.

Fury: It only took you six days to take a completely renovated piece of state-of-the-art machinery and turn it into scrap?!

"Well, when you put it like that..."

Coulson isn't showing any emotion whatsoever.

Coulson: My team acted with my authority.

"Did they now?"

Coulson winced.

Fury: Don't talk to me about authority. Do you know how much this plane costs?

Skye grimaced.

Coulson walks over to one said of the plane motioning to something.

Fury: It's got a bar! A really nice one.

"It was a cool bar." Daisy confirmed.

He looks at the bar for a moment then back to Coulson.

Fury: Talking to me about authority. You know, I have the authority to downgrade your ass to a Winnebago.

Coulson: I'm aware of that, sir.

"That really sucks."

Fury points his finger in Coulson's face.

Fury: Well, I want it fixed just like you found it. So don't have Fitz-Simmons going making modifications, like a-a-a damn fish tank.

FitzSimmons looked like they wanted to protest, but Fury's eye was twitching, so they left it alone.

Coulson: Yes, sir.

Fury starts to walk past him but stops.

Fury: And the new girl, she's a risk.

A risk.

Coulson: I know, sir.

Fury: You know, sir?

Fury stares at him a beat then walks past.

Fury: How's Lola?

May held back a snort.

Coulson gives a little smile.

Coulson: She's fine, sir. Thanks for asking.

Fury mutters while he walks out of frame.

Fury: Talking to me about authority.

Coulson rolled his eyes.

Coulson's smile falls, a beat after Fury leaves he puts his finger to his earpiece.

Coulson: Yeah, we're gonna have to kill the fish tank.

Hunter, Trip, Lincoln, SKye and Daisy all laugh, while FitzSimmons look slightly dejected.

*Chapter 4*: The Asset

We start with the Marvel comic book flip through that starts each Marvel produced TV or movie. After that we cut to a tractor trailer traveling quickly down the road. We pan back and see that it says "Rocky Mountain Office Supply. Colorado's Office Supply Superstore." We get various views of the truck then cut to the interior. A man is driving the truck and singing along to the song playing.

Driver: High and low I've traveled, far and wide I go. From the desert tracks to the mountainside I'll bring you this traveling show.

"Okaaaay..." Hunter drawled out, slightly amused.

He stops singing to pick up his cup and take a drink. He puts his cup down when a male voice comes over his CB.

CB Man: Big boy, this is little boy. How'd things go down at the chicken coop?

He picks up his receiver and talks into it.

Driver: Weight-station inspector needs to learn some adult words and a bit of hygiene, but he waved us through. The cargo is secure. Looks like a clean shot from here.

"S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Trip asked somebody.

"Yeah."

CB Man: Roger that. Little girl will take point on your front door. See you at the drop station, Mack. I'm clear.

We see the view from one of the side mirrors to see a black SUV. We pan back a bit to see two black SUVs driving alongside the truck. He looks down at the woman driving the first SUV and gives her a nod, she gives him a wave with a few of her fingers. She quickly pulls in front of the truck while the second SUV stays behind.

Suddenly the front SUV is lifted from the ground, almost like there was an explosion under it. However, we see no fire or any other indication of what caused the SUV to go airborne. It flies quite a distance into the sky then lands in front of the truck on it's roof. The truck quickly swerves to avoid the SUV.

"What the hell?" Firz cursed in surprise before being reprimanded by Jemma.

Daisy smirked.

Some things never change.

Driver: Son of a bitch!

He ends up taking the truck into the median between the opposite lanes of traffic but then gets it back on the road. He picks up his CB.

Driver: You see that?

CB Man: Little girl is down. Escort 2 is down!

Driver: I know, Sherlock. What the hell hit us?

"That's what I would like to know." Fitz said what most of them were thinking.

He reaches up to the ceiling and hits a button. Suddenly his windshield has become a sort of touch screen computer. He hits a few buttons still keeping the truck on the road. We see a bright red line appear on the window in front of him. He waves it away then clicks the button on the ceiling turning off the computer. He picks up his CB.

Driver: We need to go to alt two, alt two.

CB Man: Nothing over our shoulder.

The SUV that was in the back is now moving to go in front of the truck.

CB Man: Back door's clear. Protect the cargo at all costs.

"What's the cargo?" Hill asked Fury.

Fury shrugged. "We'll see, I suppose."

The driver starts talking but no longer into the CB, just into the cab in general.

Driver: S.H.I.E.L.D. region CT, this is Agent Mack. We are under attack from an unseen I-don't-know-what.

He's looking up and all around trying to find out what's going on. As he does so the SUV that is now in the front goes airborne just as the first one did. Except this time it's shoved off the road, it doesn't land in front of him. He gets a female response to his earlier statement.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Voice: Agent Mack advise as to the nature of threat, over.

Mack: What in the Holy name of –

He is looking up in the sky but his words are cut off when the truck goes airborne as well. The truck goes into the air at a 90 degree angle from the ground.

"Holy shit." Trip gaped at the screen along with Skye.

Mack: S.H.I.E.L.D. Region CT…oh, hell, I can't explain.

The truck is suddenly dropped, almost like it had been held up by a string that has now been cut. We can hear Mack yelling as it falls.

Mack: Oh, no!

Black Screen.

There was a rare moment of silence in the theater.

Next we see the truck on its side, flames in the engine area. We can hear the S.H.I.E.L.D. voice still over intercom.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Voice: Mack, come in! Are you there, Agent Mack?

We pan to the cab of the truck, Mack is either knocked out or dead. While the cab of the truck has landed on its side the bed of the truck remains upright. We pan around the truck to see a construction backhoe slowly making its way over to the truck. Men in camo run behind the backhoe. They use the arm of the backhoe to break apart the bed of the truck. The men in camo are there once opened and are throwing out the empty paper boxes that were obviously a cover for whatever is in there. Once a path is clear we can see a door with a keypad and the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo. One of the men in camo takes a blowtorch to the door working. Once they have made an opening they kick away the metal. Inside the room is a man strapped into some sort of chair. He puts his glasses on as they open his room.

Room Man: Are we there yet?

"What the hell?" Fitz asked again. This time Simmons was silent, staring at the screen incredulously.

Title Screen.

Next we see The Bus flying through the air, looking all spiffy and fixed. We cut inside the cargo hold. Ward is in there hitting a punching bag. He is about to punch it when he sees someone and halts his hit.

Ward: You know, you're late.

Daisy rolled her eys.

The camera pans over to show Skye walking down the spiral staircase. She's dressed in a tank top and has her hands taped like Ward's.

Skye: I'm tired from the mornings workout. I thought I was joining S.H.I.E.L.D., not 24 hour fitness.

She steps up to the punch bag and Ward stands next to her.

Ward: It's called relative strength training, starting with the basics.

"Like hell those were basics." Deputy Director Hill could hear the time-traveler mutter.

He takes her hand and messes with the tape.

Ward: And next time you do 15 push-ups for every minute you're late.

He drops that wrist and picks up the other one.

Skye: Fine, Mr. Fun Machine. Better than pull-ups. I don't ever want to do another pull-up again.

Ward: You find yourself hanging off the edge of a building 20 stories up, you're gonna want to do at least one.

"Fair point." Daisy winced. "Do those." She addressed Skye. Her younger version stared at her with a bemused expression.

He stops messing with her tape and takes a fighting position facing the bag.

Ward: Stand here.

He pulls his hands up high, near his face.

Ward: Jab, cross, like this.

He shows her how he wants her to hit then backs up.

"Why?" Hunter questioned. There was no answer.

Ward: 10 minutes.

Skye hits the bag, but with nowhere near the force Ward was using.

Ward: You know the hardest part about boxing?

"Getting knocked out?" Jemma guessed.

"Breaking or dislocating your hands?" Fitz did too.

"No." Ward answered flatly.

Skye: Getting punched in the face?

Ward: Keeping your hands up.

Mack nodded in agreement.

He once again pulls both of his hand up by his face showing her, she drops her arms in frustration.

Skye: Why do I even have to do this? I'm sure Fitz-Simmons' supervising officer didn't make them do this muscle stuff.

"He didn't." FitzSimmons confirmed.

She weakly hits the bag a few times while speaking, Ward just stares at her.

"Sorta being creepy dude." Hunter muttered to Ward, who chose to ignore him.

Ward: You said you wanted to be a field agent, like Coulson. Well, if you'd like to switch disciplines…

He looks over into the lab. Both Fitz and Simmons are wearing lab coats. Fitz has an aerosol can in his hands spraying it showing a laser line as Simmons looks at Ward.

Ward: What did your S.O. give you guys for morning drills?

Simmons gets excited.

Simmons: Oh, atomistic attribute drills.

"What?"

While she continues to speak Ward nods his head and looks at Skye, she in response weakly hits the bag again.

Simmons: Yeah, we'd name the mechanical, chemical, thermal –

Fitz: Electrical properties of materials.

"Well." Trip cleared his throat awkwardly. "Good thing we didn't have to do that."

Skye: Okay, okay, they made your point.

She continues to hit the bag, Ward walks to stand on the opposite side of the bag and hold it.

Ward: There will come a moment when you have to commit to this or bail. Every field agent has a defining moment. Ask Coulson. When you have to make the hard call to either dedicate yourself to this or to curl up in a ball and run.

"Why Coulson?" May asked and Daisy shrugged.

Skye stops hitting, if that's what you call it, and looks at Ward.

Skye: How can you run if you're curled up in a ball?

Bobbi snorted in amusement. "Roll around."

She starts hitting again.

Ward: It's my job as your S.O. make sure you don't die before then.

While he talks he lifts her hands higher up by her face.

Ward: Come on.

She starts to hit the bag again. In the background, Fitz seems to be pointing the laser at Simmons, we can see it on her face and she's holding up her hands trying to block it.

"What the heck is going on with you two?" Fury questions. Fitz shrugged while Jemma remained silent.

Skye: So what's yours, Agent Ward?

Ward: 10 minutes.

"10 minutes what?"

Grant shrugged.

Skye: Your defining moment?

He stays silent so she stops hitting.

Skye: Come on, tell me. I want to know.

Skye nodded energetically.

She starts to hit again.

Skye: I can get Coulson to give you some of that truth serum. You could spill your little heart out to me again.

Coulson smirked.

She's teasing, but he seems to be taking it all seriously.

Ward: You mean my level one overshare that miraculously got you to cooperate?

She looks away unsure then back to him.

Ward: I hate to tell you this, rookie, but we don't have a truth serum.

"What?" Skye stares at the screen in shock while Hunter, Trip, and even Mack seem to giggle at the put out girl.

Skye's mouth drops open in shock.

Skye: Wha-

There is a ding overhead and May's voice comes over the speakers.

May: Changing course, briefing in three.

"Sucky timing." Coulson commented to May who punched him in the arm.

The camera pans over to Fitz in the lab.

Fitz: Ah, looks like we're on the move.

He takes off his lab coat as Simmons smiles and does the same. Ward goes up the stairs as Skye sulks.

May over Intercom: S.H.I.E.L.D. 616 with new orders.

"What?" Skye asked again, this time not so loud.

Cut to May inside the cockpit.

May: Set for Colorado air field north.

Cut to the living room area of the plane. Fitz and Simmons are sitting on a couch as Ward and Skye enter. Coulson enters from the opposite side of the plane.

Coulson: A few minutes ago a S.H.I.E.L.D. transport was attacked while carrying a priority red protected asset off Route 76 near Sterling.

Fury scowls.

Fitz whistles.

Simmons: Priority red?

Coulson: The asset was Canadian physicist Dr. Franklin Hall.

Daisy glanced at Fitz and Simmons in worry. She wasn't sure how they would react when Hall betrays S.H.I.E.L.D.

He walked in carrying a table, he now turns it so all can see a picture of Dr. Hall.

Coulson: Known for his work –

We pan over to see Fitz and Simmons both stricken by this news. Fitz' face shows shock while Simmons has both of her hands to her face worried.

"You guys know him?" Mack asked Fitz. The latter nodded, still in shock.

Simmons: Oh, no. Not Frank.

Fitz: Dr. Hall? He was our chemical kinetics advisor our second year.

Simmons: Yeah, he's so enthusiastic about science, we just adored him. We can rescue him, can't we?

Daisy coughed awkwardly.

"What's wrong?" Hannah asked her quietly.

Daisy just gestured at the screen.

Coulson: He's one of ours. We're gonna : And the attackers?

Coulson: Invisible.

He walks off as Skye gives Ward a confused look.

Skye: Wait, invisible?

"Still cool." Skye shook her head.

She laughs amused.

Skye: Cool.

She looks at Ward, he shares none of her humor or excitement, she drops the smile from her face.

Skye: But terrible.

Cut to the whole group, Skye, Ward, Coulson, May, Fitz and Simmons walking on a dark street. The runner at the bottom of the screen says: Sterling, Colorado.

Skye: Dr. Hall was an asset?

Coulson: One of a few select scientists S.H.I.E.L.D. has been protecting, people our enemies would love to get their hands on. We keep them hidden, keep them on the move.

"How did the info get leaked?" Hill asked Daisy.

Daisy's expression darkened.

Hill decided not to question her.

Simmons: Which is why Fitz and I were so lucky to have him.

Coulson: We don't have him anymore.

Skye: And, what does priority red mean?

Coulson: It means security should have been…

"Over the top." Trip finished.

His words trail off when they hear the groaning of metal. They look up and see one of the SUVS inside a tree.

Coulson: Heavy.

Cut to Mack. He is still alive but got banged up in the crash, there's a large bandage on the side of his head.

Mack: It was pretty damn scary, and I don't spook easily, boss.

"They all say that." Daisy rolled her eyes.

"You don't think that was scary?" Fury regarged her with curiosity and disbelief.

She stared at him blankly. "That," She gestured to the screen. "is literally the least of your problems."

We pan out to see he is sitting in the back of a van speaking with Coulson and May. Fitz is in the background on his tablet.

May: Nothing in the air from above?

Mack nods.

May raised an eyebrow.

Mack: Nothing over our shoulder, but what's scary is they knew our route.

We pan over to see that Fitz is shining some sort of grid like laser line onto the road. With this panned back view we can see that they are all next to the tractor trailer.

Mack: They were waiting for us.

Mack cursed under his breath.

Coulson: Are you saying they were working with somebody inside S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Daisy closed her eyes. Fury grimaced.

He looks down and away for a moment, almost embarrassed then looks back at Coulson.

Mack: Sorry to say…it had to be.

"Who was it?" The current director of S.H.I.E.L.D. asked Daisy.

She didn't answer.

The sound of Simmons calling out gets their attention.

Simmons: Fitz, what am I seeing here?

We pan over to see Simmons has on some sort of green goggles and is holding some sort of metal instrument in her hand. Fitz walks over to her.

Fitz: Well, I'm not wearing the full-spectrum goggles I designed, so – no clue.

Bobbi laughed.

Skye and Ward also walk behind Fitz over to where Simmons is. May leaves Coulson's side and wonders over, after a moment Coulson does as well.

He laughs to Skye, she doesn't laugh so his falters off. They reach Simmons.

Fitz: Let me have a look, come on.

He goes to reach out to her but she stops him.

Simmons: No, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, don't move!

She looks down at his feet when he stops.

Simmons: Wait a second.

She picks some rocks off the road and throws them into the air, they gather together swirling all around each other like a tornado.

Skye: What in the hell?

"Exactly what I was thinking." Skye said without looking away from the screen.

Simmons: I think the electro-static field scanner activated some…thing.

She smiles. They all duck when the batch of rock and dirt go flying every which way, taking out one of the lights as it does so.

"Can it be deactivated?" Coulson asked.

Simmons shrugged.

Coulson: Okay, can we deactivate it? Now?

Simmons hits a few keys, it becomes more aggressive.

Fitz: Have to increase the density.

Simmons: I tried, Fitz, but –

Fury scowled, "Just how is that the least of our problems?"

Daisy shrugged. "It just is."

Pieces of rock are hitting metal all around causing panging sounds as the others randomly duck.

May: Fitz!

He's clicking away on something that looks like a mix between a cell phone and a walkie-talkie. One of the rocks hits it doing damage.

Fitz: Whoa.

"No sh-" Hunter started, but Bobbi covered his mouth not looking away from the screen.

Suddenly it all dies out. Simmons bends down to the ground and picks some sort of small sphere up off the ground using tweezers. She holds it out for Coulson to see.

Simmons: That did all this.

"What is that?" Skye whispered.

Coulson plucks the sphere off the tweezers and into his fingers.

Everyone is staring at the sphere Coulson has.

Everybody in the theater does too. Raina included.

Skye: What is that?

We get a close up look at it, it almost looks like two rings that form a sphere, inside those rings, at the center is some sort of gray material that is constantly moving.

"Something pretty damn important." Fitz breathed out.

Coulson: Something big.

Open on Fitz inside the lab on The Bus. He has the device found on the road in some sort of machine, he's looking at it with glasses that are lit on either side. The machine holding it is some sort of mechanized gripper. He lowers the device down as Coulson and May watch.

Coulson: Either someone cracked our comm system or Dr. Hall's movements leaked from inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Daisy bit her lip.

We pan back further to see Simmons standing next to Fitz looking at the device and Skye standing next to her looking nervous.

May: You really think we have a mole?

Skye's ears seem to perk up to this, she turns her head to listen but doesn't look at them.

Ward tried to analyze everyone in the room.

Coulson: I think you should go through the communication logs, rule it out. We'll work the tractor tread that we found on the scene.

Skye leans back from the table.

Skye: I can do that, instead of pull-ups. I can upload an image of the tread pattern and check to see if there's any sort of –

Her words are cut off by Ward.

Ward: Already done. Matched it to a 2010 model. Found a list of purchasers within a 500 mile radius. Narrowed down to those with priors, financial troubles or propensity for risk-taking.

Fury hmmed approvingly.

Ward has pulled what he found on a screen in the lab. He hits a button on his tablet and points.

Ward: Three suspects.

Skye rubbed her hands.

We see three different mug shot looking pictures up on the screen now.

Coulson: Who may have sold their construction equipment to the kidnappers. We'll ask.

Ward exits the room and Skye turns to Coulson.

Skye: Hey, so, Ward said a funny thing. He said that you guys don't have a truth serum.

"About that," Skye scowled, "what the hell people?"

Bobbi giggled.

Coulson smiles.

Coulson: Did he? Ward said that?

Skye: Yeah.

Coulson: Interesting.

"Damn straight it is." Skye scowled in a Fury-like manner. Daisy blinked in surprise.

Disturbing.

Skye: Yeah.

Coulson says nothing else and walks away.

Skye: Hey, wait –

May: Hey.

She turns her attention to May. May drops a giant binder into Skye's waiting arms.

Daisy scowled in remembrance.

Skye: Do you want me to bench press this?

May: Read it. Every communication out of HQ since they decided to transfer Dr. Hall.

May walks away leaving a shocked looking Skye.

Skye looked like she was imitating a fish.

Skye: Hang in there, doc. It's gonna be awhile.

Cut to outside, the runner on the bottom of the screen says: Barnroof Point, Colorado. We see a man riding a horse down a trail. When he gets to the bottom of the small hill he crested Coulson is waiting there.

Coulson: Excuse me.

The man stops his horse.

"Who rides horses nowadays anyway?" Fitz muttered.

Man: Who the hell are you?

"Rude much?"

We can see Coulson has brought Lola out of the cargo hold. We can also see that the man has a shotgun holster on his saddle.

Coulson: A concerned citizen, who happens to be a member of a giant bureaucratic organization that's tracking your every move.

"Very discreet." Daisy deadpanned.

Man: I haven't done anything wrong.

Coulson: Of course not, but you sold your excavator to some people who did.

Coulson takes off his glasses.

Coulson: And you're hiding out here until things cool down because you know it.

"Do you have a deadth wish or something?" Fury asked Coulson, who sat next to him with a smirk.

The man seems to go on guard.

Coulson: I just want to know who paid you.

He takes out the shotgun and points it at Coulson.

Fury shook his head in exasperation.

Man: Paid me enough not to answer any questions like that.

Suddenly an arm comes into frame gripping his shotgun, the arms give the gun a mighty pull causing the man to fall off his horse. We see those arms belonged to Ward and the man lands on his back holding up his hands in surrender as Ward points the shotgun at him.

Ward: Feels like the Old West.

Skye laught ot loud while her future version didn't react.

Man: They gave me money for my equipment, that's all. I never saw a face. I never heard a name.

Coulson: And how did you receive this money? They write you a check?

The man points at his saddlebag. Ward lowers the gun, just a bit, and reaches over to the saddlebag. He sakes the bag and thin bars of gold fall out. Coulson bends down and picks one up.

Coulson: Paid you in gold?

"Who the flying fu-" Bobbi punched Hunter's arm.

Ward: Now it really feels like the Old West.

Cut to inside the lab. The gold bars are sitting on a table as Simmons runs some sort of lit wand over them scanning them.

Simmons: It looks like this because it's a Dore Bar. It means it was made at the mine rather than in a refinery. It's only about 92% pure. The cowboy got cheated a bit.

"Good."

Coulson: Can you determine the mine based on the impurities?

Fitz: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

"Bet you already done that." Skye laughed.

Fitz grinned.

He walks away from the bars of gold to a computer.

Fitz: We've done that already.

Simmons rolled her eyes at her giggling friends.

He clicks on the computer keys.

Fitz: It's from the Dacey Mine in Tanzania, which is owned by –

Coulson: Quinn Worldwide. I'm sure you studied the CEO in your chemical engineering classes, or saw him on the cover of Forbes – Ian Quinn.

Daisy inhaled deeply. She rested her hands on her stomach.

Those actions did not escape neither Agent May nor Agent Coulson.

Coulson walks out of the lab.

Cut to nighttime over some city. The runner on the bottom says: Republic of Malta. We cut to a fancy house. A man and woman, both in white, are walking along the pathway. He's speaking on his cell phone.

"Nice mansion." Hunter whistled.

Fancy Man: We can't just pluck it from the ground like a potato. It needs to be extracted from the ore and enriched. I know. You know, tell him this investment paid for that ridiculous yacht of his and that he'll thank me at the shareholders meeting.

He takes the phone away from his ear and hands it to the woman.

Cut to inside a room, we see Dr. Hall sitting there. He perks up when he hears the door open and the Fancy Man walks up to him.

FitzSimmons sat up straighter.

Fancy Man: Why is he tied up?

Hall: Quinn.

Quinn: Does he look like a threat?

A man walks over to Hall and uses a knife to cut his bonds.

"How...Nice of him." Skye raised an eyebrow inconfusion.

Quinn: I'm sorry about these guys.

Quinn grabs a stool and sits down. He gives Hall a big smile then laughs. He reaches forward and claps Hall on his legs.

Quinn: Welcome to Malta, Frank.

"What are they best buds or something?" Trip asked.

Quinn laughs again, Hall doesn't seem amused.

Hall: You know, it's one thing to steal my ideas, Ian, but stealing me?

Fury scowled again.

Quinn: First of all, I never stole our ideas. We always agreed information should be free.

Daisy looked down.

Hall: It's amazing how much money you've made off free information.

Fitz hummed in agreement.

Quinn: And secondly, think of this as a rescue mission, Frank. In fact, in a moment, I think you'll be thanking me. My staff intercepted a communication about the movement of a certain asset, and when I deduced that asset was you, I couldn't pass up on the opportunity. It's a little out of my comfort zone, sure.

"A little?" Fury snarked. "That spineless worm never does anything that can be traced back to him."

He holds up a finger to Hall and stands, Hall following suit.

Hall: Malta You're not stupid.

Quinn has walked over to some cabinets and opens them, pulling out a bottle of liquor.

Hall: S.H.I.E.L.D. can't come after you here.

Maria Hill frowned.

Quinn: Not just S.H.I.E.L.D. I am now a naturalized citizen of this fair country. Stunning beaches, beautiful tax laws and a deep seeded hatred of outside forces telling them what to do.

Hall: Sounds like your dating profile.

Hunter, Trip, Bobbi, and Skye all laughed.

Daisy snorted, but there was little amusement in her facial expression.

He smiles at Quinn who laughs.

Quinn: Right. I moved my entire operation down here. Bought the old Prime Minister's estate. It's not really my style, but they had this huge underground facility, so I figured, hey.

Fury looked seriously pissed off.

He walks around the table back to Hall with the drinks.

Hall: Always been a stubborn bastard. Now you've finally found a place where the watchdogs can't touch you.

"The watchdogs?" Daisy scowled.

"What?" Hill ased.

"Nothing, I guess." Daisy clenched her fists. Maria didn't seem convinced.

He takes the glass from Quinn holding it up, Quinn brings his glass up as well chinking them together.

Quinn: Not without breaking international law.

"No rules are broken if nobody but the culprit knows about it." Daisy declared.

Skye frowned slightly.

They both take a drink

Quinn: But, more importantly, old friend, they can't touch you.

"Wanna bet?" May raised an eyebrow. Coulson smiled.

Quinn pulls something out of his pocket and shows it to Hall, it looks like the same type of device that was found on the road by Simmons. He sets it on a table above a monitor and looks at Hall.

Quinn: Recognize the design?

Hall picks it up and looks at it.

Quinn: We were barely old enough to drink when you sketched the blueprint. That's just a miniature prototype. A theoretical machine powered by a theoretical substance.

"Oh no." Simmons muttered as she realized where this was heading.

Hall looks up at him with surprise.

Quinn: Frank, you were right.

He nearly smiles.

Hall: You found it?

Cut to Fitz standing in front of a monitor which shows some sort of atom behind him.

Fitz: Gravitonium. It's an extremely rare high-atomic numbered element.

Fitz blinked in astonishment.

Simmons speaks from off screen.

Simmons: It powers the device.

"Extremely dangerous."

We pull the camera out and see that they are speaking to Skye in their lab.

Simmons: It's so extremely rare that most people didn't believe it existed , much less the theory that an isolated positive charge –

Fitz: Would turn the flow from isotropic –

Skye stops them.

Skye: Guys, High School drop out here. How does the device work again?

Hunter nods in thanks to her.

Fitz looks over to Simmons for help, she complies. She gets out of her seat and walks to the picture of the atom on the monitor. She seems to go into school teacher mode, speaking slower and pointing at the atom like a spokesmodel would.

Simmons: Well, gravitonium distorts gravity fields within itself, causing an undulating amorphous shape.

Fitz decides to give it a try too.

Fitz: Yeah, which causes these, um, wiggly bits here, but when an electric current is applied the gravitonium solidifies.

He too is using basic hand gestures and speaking slowly. When he says "solidifies" he brings his hands together like a ball.

Fitz: And those gravity fields erupt…

He begins shaking his hands showing the movement of the atom then blows them apart. We see Skye's face, not sure she's getting this simpler version, she still looks confused.

Fitz: Randomly changing the rules of gravity around it.

"Oh, thanks." Skye blinked.

Fitz moves to another part of the room seeming to get animated.

Fitz: Well, so, now you can imagine what would happen to a big rig at 100 kilometers per hour.

Fitz has walks over to what I believe to be his work station, it seems to be the place the goes to most when in the lab.

Fitz: Or, uh, well, you could just remember, cause we saw it already. Didn't we?

Simmons: Yeah, and guess which genius published every theory about gravitonium and possible applications, years ago.

"Hall?" Bobbi guessed.

"Give her a prize!" Daisy smirked.

Skye: Dr. Franklin Hall.

Simmons smiles.

Simmons: Yes.

Fitz: Correct. And Dr. Hall attended the University of Cambridge at the same time as Ian Quinn.

"Really?" Hunter looked confused. "Hall looks older than that Quinn guy."

"Yeah." Trip agreed.

Skye starts shaking her head.

Skye: Coulson may be off on this. Quinn is a notoriously good guy. His charity endowment's something like $8 billion.

"Whoa." Skye shook her head. Looks can be deceiving.

Simmons: Yes, with money made from leeching the Earth of its resources. Looks like he's dug up another.

Cut back to Quinn and Hall in the same room, Hall still holds the device.

Quinn: 20 years, 12 mines, 6 continents, but yes, I finally found it. And now?

"That's some serious dedication." Mack murmured.

He laughs.

Quinn: We get to play with it.

He continues laughing as Hall scoffs just a bit.

Hall: Do you remember in all our talks on Orchard Street, the part where it's very, very dangerous?

"Ain't it always?"

Quinn: Everything powerful is dangerous. But, I'm not going to convince you with more talk, talk of 50% shares, talk of Nobel Prizes. No, not you. You…

He reaches over to the monitor and slides his finger up pulling something up on the screen.

Quinn: Will just have to see it.

Fitz frowned.

We hear a noise off screen, it sounds like a door opening. Hall looks over as the doors are opened. The camera pans and we see a bigger version of the device in his hand, a much bigger version.

MAria Hill covered her mouth, while Fury looked at the picture of Quinn with an odd expression on his face.

Quinn: I built a full sized generator, but I need you to tell me how to control the gravity fields.

He looks from the big version down to the small version in his hand.

Quinn: You can complete your life's work. I plan to do this, with or without you, but I know you. I know you'd want it done right.

Hall gives a tiny nod of his head and looks back at the big version as Quinn nods behind him and claps him on the shoulder.

Simmons groaned. Her best friend was staring at the screen in shock.

Quinn: Now is the moment when you thank me.

Cut to inside the plane, see Skye walking toward where we hear Coulson and Ward talking.

Coulson: The man's a prisoner, and it's up to us to get him out.

Phil scowled, changing his opinion about Hall.

Ward: We've checked the specs. There's no way into Quinn's compound without a large S.H.I.E.L.D. strike force or a man inside.

We now see that Coulson and Ward are discussing things in the Planning Room. As Skye enters the room we see that May, Fitz and Simmons are also in there.

Ward: He's got Neodymium laser fencing surrounding the property.

Fitz' eyes widened.

Coulson: They'll never allow a strike force into Malta. Plus, this weekend, Quinn Worldwide's got its annual shareholders gathering. We'd risk global outrage, but –

May: If we go in alone –

Coulson: S.H.I.E.L.D. can disavow us, claim ignorance.

Daisy scowled, thinking about Bobbi and Hunter. From her time that is.

May: Without a man inside it's impossible, unless you're immune to Neodymium laser emissions.

Fitz stands up seeming to have gotten an idea.

Fitz: If we had a monkey, we could get in.

"Really Leo," Simmons looked unimpressed, "Really?"

Simmons squeezes her eyes shut in frustration.

Simmons: Ugh, Fitz!

Fitz: If we had a small monkey he could slip through the sensors and disable the fence's power source with his adorable little hands.

For his part Coulson seems to be actually listening, Skye not so much. She has her cellphone up and is messing with it.

Skye: I could go in.

"You're...considering it?" Melinda gaped at Phil, while he looked slightly uncomfortable.

"Maybe?"

"Unbelievable."

No one seems to hear her.

Ward: Drop me in the hills outside of Valletta. I'll spend a few weeks establishing a cover, gathering intel –

Coulson: Hall doesn't have a few weeks.

Coulson walks away from the table frustrated.

Simmons: And to restate, any agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. caught on Maltese soil can be shot to death with bullets –

"Yikes," Skye winced, "The Maltese really don't like you, do they?"

Fury glowered at her, while Hill covered her chuckle with a cough.

Fitz: Yeah.

Simmons: Legally.

Skye was leaning against the wall but now stands up straighter.

Skye: Not me. I could go in.

"Hmmm," Fury looked at her, "I suppose you could with a bit more training."

They all are finally looking at her.

Ward: Skye, this is serious.

"I bite my thumb at you sir." Skye muttered, slightly annoyed.

"Was that...Shakespeare?" Simmons asked.

"What?" Skye asked sort of defensively. "It fits here."

Coulson: Wait.

He walks closer to her.

Coulson: What are you saying?

Skye: Well, I'm not an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., so I could go in without breaking all these stupid rules.

"Technically." Was all Davis said.

She pulls her phone back up and starts typing.

Simmons: International laws.

Ward: This isn't something the Rising Tide can hack, Skye.

"Is that a challenge I hear?' Skye grinned.

Grant face palmed.

Fitz: Did you hear the deadly lasers part? Without a brave monkey –

Skye: You said you could go in with a man inside.

May: And you want to be that man?

Skye: Fitz-Simmons loved the guy, and he needs help. They could be torturing him, or worse, making him do strength-training.

May snorted, while Ward looked slightly put out.

She shoots Ward a look at this then goes back to typing on her phone.

Ward: But you don't have the background or clearance or experience with any of this.

Ward has walked away from the table to stand closer to Skye, right next to Coulson.

Skye: I know.

"What?" Daisy asked "Let's face it, past me had a good chance."

Agent Piper shrugged.

She holds up her phone and shows them all the screen.

Skye: But I've got an invitation.

"...What?" Ward stared at the screen in disbelieve.

They all stare at her while the music builds, she looks at her phone then adds:

Skye: Well, technically it's an e-vite.

"And that's why I'm one of the best hacker the Rising Tide has. Or had I suppose." Skye grinned.

Coulson smiled at her.

Ward still didn't seem convinced.

Open on The Bus flying through the night sky.

Daisy sighed. She really missed the damn plane.

We cut inside The Bus and see Coulson staring at a large rack of suits.

Coulson: I understand your concern, but we don't have a lot of options.

He pulls one suit out as the camera pans back to see Ward standing next to Coulson's closet.

Ward: Hey, I'm impressed. She just wrangled an invitation on her phone using insider back-channel voodoo in minutes. But sending her in with no training, you're taking a huge risk.

"You can't live your life without taking risks." Melinda and Ward both sighed, giving up.

While Ward is speak Coulson is examining his suit choice. FYI, it looks exactly like the one he's wearing. He takes it deeper in the room leaving Ward by the closet, Ward follows after.

Ward: I know Director Fury felt he owed you after you sacrificed yourself.

Coulson: And my card collection.

Daisy hid her smile.

Ward: He gave you some autonomy, but Skye on a covert op?

Coulson: Are you worried about her safety or her loyalty?

Ward: Both. The Rising Tide is the reason she got an invite. Who knows how many protocols she violated.

"None, actually." Daisy stared at Ward with a perfect poker face.

He looked a little uncomfortable.

Now while they've been talking Coulson has set down his suit inside his office. He goes behind his desk and opens a binder reading something there.

Coulson: That's her job. Ignore protocol, find connections and back doors that nobody else can see. Something else is bother you.

Ward sighs and walks a few paces away.

Ward: She's holding back, sir. She says she wants to be an agent, but she won't commit. She doesn't listen, makes jokes.

"How's finding humor in your slightly gruesome line of work a bad thing?" Hunter defended Daisy and Skye.

Bobbi gaped at him.

"What?" He scowled.

"That...Was actually a great point Hunter."

He rolled his eyes at his ex's fake shock.

Coulson: Were you hard on her?

Ward: Sure. I tried playing nice, too. I need a new strategy.

Coulson finishes what he was doing at his desk and looks at Ward. As he talks he walks around his desk to sit on the front of it and address Ward.

Coulson: Try no strategy. Stop thinking like an operative, start thinking like a person. Maybe Skye will let that person help her.

Ward: Help her what?

Coulson: Help her think like an operative.

Skye blinked. "Seriously?"

He gives him a tiny smile and stands up.

Cut to Ward and Skye in the cargo hold. Ward has a gun pointed at Skye's chest.

"What the?" Skye jumped up in her seat.

Ward: Now, again, slowly, what's first?

Skye looks at his wrist then takes a hold of it, she then spins herself so that Ward's gun arm is over her shoulder and her back is to his chest.

"Oh," She muttered.

Ward: And then?

Skye: Then? Things are moving too quickly. I'm a proper southern girl.

Trip snorted and high fived Skye.

Ward drops his head in disappointment at her joking again as she takes on a southern accent.

Skye: You'll make me untidy.

Almost all people around Skye snorted.

Ward lets out a sigh and takes her other hand placing it on top of his holding the gun.

Ward: Twist the thumb, palm the barrel.

He pulls the gun out of her grip and walks away.

Skye: Ow.

Skye frowned. This Ward character isn't making a great impression so far.

Ward: You're gonna die and leave us hanging out to dry, you know that? You're going in with no self-defense skills –

Skye: I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Daisy smirked.

Ward: You need muscle memory, fundamentals, the tools to turn yourself –

Skye: Into a whole bag of tools?

Hunter snorted.

Sometimes you need to relax and go with the flow, and not prepare for every single scenario. That can actually drive you insane.

Ward: How did you learn computer science without committing yourself to it?

Skye: C.S. comes naturally to me. I'm sorry I'm not a naturally whatever you are.

"Anti-social assassin." Daisy supplied.

"Specialist." Ward said at the same time.

This seems to upset Ward, he walks closer to Skye.

Ward: You think this came naturally? I had a brother who beat the crap out of me, me and my little brother, for nothing. For eating a piece of his birthday cake. I had to learn to protect us, the way I am trying to protect you.

Skye for once doesn't have anything flippant to say.

The room is silent.

Ward: That was my moment. You asked.

Skye: Sorry. I didn't mean to push.

There is a moment where they just stare at each other. However, Skye breaks the tension by holding up Ward's gun.

Skye: But I did manage to take this.

"When? What?" Ward gaped at the screen while Skye smirked. Daisy bit back a satisfied smile.

Ward is not impressed, he takes the gun from her.

Ward: Getting the gun is one thing. Pulling the trigger, that is another.

Daisy looked down.

That much is true.

He once again points the gun a Skye's chest.

Ward: Now, again, slowly, what's first?

Skye glanced at Ward who sat a few rows in front her, before turning to look at the screen again.

Cut to inside the Planning Room, they are using it for just that. Coulson is talking about the mission plan with everyone there.

Coulson: Skye will walk in the front door. The only external access point to Quinn's underground facility is from a beach cove.

"Wonderful." Hunter's voice oozed with sarcasm.

He has walked over to the large screen. We see blueprints of Quinn's compound up on the screen and he points things out.

Coulson: A two man extraction team could slip in there, but it's not easy. Fitz-Simmons.

Fitz walks closer to the screen.

Fitz: The perimeter is surrounded by a 20 foot high neodymium laser grid. Touch it and you're toast.

Leo casually took a sip of his diet coke, as if that was something he came across every day.

Coulson: Dead toast. The only way to disable the grid is to crack the system and trigger a reboot. This would give the team three seconds to cross. Of course Quinn's too smart to allow any wireless access on his property.

Skye: That's where I come in.

Simmons opens a case that was sitting on the table.

Simmons: Yes, working compact – holds up under x-ray.

Fitz gets it out as Ward and Coulson move closer for a look. Fitz opens the compact and shows the inside to Skye.

Fitz: Desert Rose, to match your complexion.

"Fancy." Skye smirked.

Skye smiles at this.

Fitz: But, oh, what's this?

We see the mirror of the compact, it now has five red dots on it.

Fitz: A read out, okay?

The lights switch from five red on the left side to five green on the right side.

Fitz: Turns green if you're in close enough proximity to a computer to gain wireless access.

"Nice." Mack smiled.

Simmons: When it does you just drop this nearby and walk out. We'll do the rest. Easy as pie.

"And easy." May added.

Ward: Or it will be, if you stick to the plan.

Ward racks his gun causing the distinct click.

Skye: Got it. Plan, green, drop, walk…pie.

"Sounds almost too easy." Skye frowned.

Ward privately agreed with her.

As Fitz hands her the compact Coulson walks over to May.

May: I don't want to question your orders, sir.

Coulson: Good.

May rolled her eyes with a small smile.

He steps around her to start out of the room, she sighs and speaks anyway. Coulson stops walking and May turns toward him.

May: But, I've already seen far more combat than I bargained for. This two man extraction team? It's exactly the kind of action I was hoping to avoid.

And her smile slowly disappeared.

Coulson turns to face her.

Coulson: That's why you're not on it.

"Say what now?" Skye gaped at the screen and then at Coulson.

May gives him a disbelieving look.

May: Specialist work is different from field work, believe me. When was the last time you –

Phil actually flinched.

Coulson: Hall's one of ours and he's in trouble. I need two men to get him out. Ward makes one.

He stares at her a long moment, she is the first to shift her eyes away.

Daisy stared at the screen, looking slightly annoyed.

How did I miss all the signs?

Coulson: So that's why I'm going in. You forget, I saw plenty of action with The Avengers.

He walks away but May says something under her breath.

May: And you died.

Fury looked down along with few others. Nobody argued with Melinda's point of view.

Coulson: All right team, suit up.

We cut to a coastal city in daytime. The runner on the bottom of the screen says: Republic of Malta.

We cut to the front of Quinn's estate. People are entering when a taxi pulls up. Skye, looking fancy in a pink dress with her hair curled, gets out of the taxi. She takes a deep breath then walks forward to the front door.

Skye inhaled sharply.

Cut to inside the party, people are milling about, drinking and talking in low tones. A waitress stops by Skye with a tray of Champaign, she takes one.

Skye: Thank you.

The waitress walks away and Skye walks deeper into the party, sipping on her Champaign and taking it all in. Now a waiter walks up to Skye.

Waiter: Hors D'oeuvre, Madame?

"Uh, what?" Trip asked.

"It means appetizers." Daisy explained.

Trip gave her a nod.

She takes some sort of skewer off the tray and continues walking, but a man's voice stops her.

Man: Who are you?

She quickly turns around to face the man. He is an older gentleman, a younger one walks over when he speaks to Skye.

Young Man: Oh, apologizes for his manners. He knows very little English.

Skye: Oh, that, uh, that's – what, whatever.

"Very eloquent." Simmons teased.

"I can be," Daisy smiled, "When there's a need for me to be."

She waves away the worry then extends her hand to the older man for a handshake.

Skye: Skye.

He slowly reaches out and shakes her hand.

Older Man: Qasim Zaghlul.

"Who?" Skye asked.

Skye: Big fan. You built half of Dubai, including the Arabian Blade.

He gives just the tiniest smirk.

Skye: I love that building, it's super sci-fi. Where's your wife…

"What the?" Skye stared at the screen with shock.

Fitz snickers.

We cut to inside The Bus. May and Simmons are standing at the Planning Table. May is feeding information to Skye as needed.

May: Wife's name is Nadrah.

Cut back to Skye.

Skye: …Nadrah?

"Oh." Skye snickered.

"You're almost too good at that." Ward noted.

Skye shrugged.

We hear May over Skye's earpiece.

May: Twin sons.

Skye: Is she staying at home with the boys?

Cut back to inside The Bus. It looks like Fitz has just arrived, with a large bowl of popcorn.

Leo stared longingly at the snack table.

I'm gonna get some after this episode ends.

He whispers to the others.

Fitz: How's she doing?

May and Simmons answer at the same time.

Both: She's good.

"Thank you very much!" Skye gave a bow, while Daisy just smiled.

Simmons playfully pulled Skye back into her seat.

Cut back to Skye, she reaches out and touches Qasim on the arm.

Skye: The pleasure is mine.

She gives them a small laugh then turns away. She almost immediately puts her hand to her ear after walking away from the men to talk to them on The Bus.

"Being too obvious." Ward told Skye.

She gave him a slow nod.

Skye: I could get used to this, people. It's like Siri if it worked.

Skye looks at a group of people off to her right.

Skye: Sipper to Bravo, I got eyes on top dog. The eagle is landing on it.

Cut back to The Bus, May and Simmons look confused.

"And you people call yourselves super spies?" Skye snorted.

Hunter nodded with a smirk, "Quinn's here, obviously."

Simmons: What are you doing?

Cut back to Skye.

Skye: Uh, sorry, I – I don't know. I see Quinn, I'm gonna go talk to him.

"That might not be the best idea." Bobbi muttered.

She starts off toward him.

Cut to The Bus, the three of them give each other worried looks.

Cut back to Skye. Quinn is walking toward her so she positions herself in his path.

"What are you doing?" Fitz gave her a weird look.

Quinn: I mean, that and it's effective on the industrial average.

She joins the group, when the others laugh so does she.

Man: That was good.

Skye: Yeah, right? Ian Quinn. I'm your last minute party crasher. Skye.

"What are you doing Skye?" Fitz repeated himself.

She extends her hand and he takes it giving it a shake.

Quinn: Oh.

He chuckles.

Daisy glared at the screen, which went unnoticed by anyone.

Quinn: Wow.

She chuckles as well.

Quinn: Great to meet you.

He address the others in the group around him.

Quinn: This is Skye, a member of The Rising Tide.

Ward scowled.

They all look at her, she gives a little wave.

Quinn: They're a group of hackers. They've gotten some pretty big secrets out to the public.

Fury frowned.

Skye looks at the others.

Skye: I prefer "Hacktivist". I'm glad you've heard of our site.

"It is pretty famous." Mack shrugged.

Quinn: I read it. We think very much alike, more freedom of information, less government infringing on everyone's rights, I'm a fan.

Skye: That explains the invite. This is a tough party to get into.

"Didn't look like it a few minutes ago." Fitz sent a questioning glance at Daisy.

She gave him a smile, but didn't say anything.

Quinn: Not as hard to get into as the encrypted back channel you contact us through to request the invite.

She laughs.

Skye: That's sort of where I live.

Skye smiled genuinely.

Quinn: You got to show me how you did that, I mean, if you sign on.

"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked Simmons, who just shrugged.

She looks to the others then back to him. This totally throws her off.

Skye: Sign what, now?

Quinn: I've been known to turn a few black hats into white hats. Not just for vulnerability analysis, but for very creative thinking.

Skye: A-Are you offering me a job?

"...Well that was unexpected." Phil scratched the back of his head.

"You didn't agree, did you?" Ward narrowed his eyes.

"Spoilers!" Daisy grinned. She didn't, of course, but it was fun keeping people in suspense.

Quinn: Well I didn't invite you here for your pretty face. I didn't know you had a pretty face. Yes, I want to hire you before someone else snatches you up.

He walks away from the group leaving Skye looking shocked.

"Quinn was an extremely surprising person." Daisy finally commented.

We hear May over her earpiece.

May: That seemed to go well.

Skye: Yeah, it did.

She turns her back to the other people standing there, putting no distance between them.

She takes a drink as the people at the party start to clap, Quinn has gotten in front of them to address them all. He is under a tent standing at a podium talking.

"A long sciency speech." Hunter sighed. "Just what I need right now."

Quinn: Many of you shareholders have been with us for years, and I see a few new names here, but I want to thank you all for traveling so far to this beautiful country. And, well, for slumming it at Shaba Tal-Banar.

The crown laughs at his joke as he takes a drink.

Daisy gave the screen a black look.

Quinn: This country where we are allowed to pursue progress and profit without the stranglehold of regulations that are now choking our world. The United States government, the E.U., the DRTC, S.H.I.E.L.D., these are just a few of the institutions that are guilty of halting the development of new technology for anyone, except themselves.

He's not exactly wrong here. Daisy scowled.

Cut to the beach, we see Coulson and Ward coming ashore dragging an inflatable raft. While they do this we still hear Quinn's voice.

Quinn: We dare defy them with a new idea.

"Like he would dare to do something by himself, without anyone backing him." Fury scoffed.

"You'd be surprised." Daisy's tone made the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. shiver.

We zoom closer to Coulson and Ward, Ward is in black pants with a black T-shirt, Coulson is – as usual – in a suit and tie.

Quinn: The steal in and sweep it out from under us.

Cut back to Quinn.

Quinn: But not today. You're all aware of what Quinn Worldwide has been able to do with basic minerals, let alone Uranium or Plutonium, despite these unjust restrictions that weigh the scales in the other guy's favor.

When the days are cold

And the cards all fold

And the saints we see are all made of gold

Daisy shot in her seat, recognizing the familiar ringtone, paused the show and started looking for her phone.

When your dreams all fail

And the ones we hail are the worst of all

And the blood's run stale...

"What song is that?" Ward asked, watching Daisy look trying to find her phone in one of her pockets. And she had dozens of them.

"Demons by Imagine Dragons." May recognized it.

Ward, FitzSimmons and Coulson stared at her.

"What?"

... But with the beast inside

There's nowhere we can hide

No matter what we breed

We still are made of greed

This is my kingdom come,

This is my kingdom come

When you feel my heat,

Look into my eyes,

Daisy finally saw her phone poking out of the pocket of her jacket, which was lazily thrown on the ground beside her seat.

It's where my demons hide-

"Hey Rob, now's a really bad time to call. Is it alright if I call you back in about twenty minutes?.. Yeah talk to you later." Daisy hung up.

"Who was that? Were they from the future?" Fitz asked her.

"Yeah. You're going to see Rob in season four, I think."

Fitz tried to ask questions about how her phone worked across time, but Daisy unpaused the show again.

We pan over to Skye, she looks around seeing everyone is watching Quinn and begins to move away. We then pan back to Quinn.

Quinn: Well, today, I'm announcing something new, an element that could balance those scales.

The camera pans over from Quinn to the TV screen next to him showing the atom of gravitonium.

Quinn: And I mean that quite literally.

FitzSimmons looked at the screen in trepidation.

Cut to inside the room where we saw the full sized version of the device Quinn gave to Hall. Now there is a black undulating mass being lowered so it is parallel with the center of the device. We still hear Quinn's voice.

Quinn: Imagine if you could control gravity.

"People would flow up into the outer space and choke from the lack air. The end."

"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine." Mack muttered as he stared at Daisy.

The camera cuts to show Hall busy at work on some monitors.

Quinn: If instead of drilling for oil, it rose up to greet you.

Cut back to Quinn.

Quinn: Imagine if you could move a super tanker's worth of cargo with a swipe of your hand.

"That does sound impressive." Lincoln admitted.

"It sounds inhuman." Daisy countered.

His eyes widened.

Cut back to inside the room with the full sized device. The robotic arm that lowered the black mass into place is now behind it, pushing it into the center of the device. We still hear Quinn talking.

Quinn: Well, we will do this and more.

Hall is busy punching things into the computer. We hear Coulson speaking while we watch Hall.

Coulson: This could have been a traumatic experience for Dr. Hall.

"Sure." Skye snorted.

Cut to Coulson and Ward on the beach.

Coulson: He may not be the same when we find him, Ward. I'll talk him down. We don't want your personality to set him on edge.

Skye smiled a bit.

Ward: Great time for humor, sir. My people skills are the least of our problems if Skye can't get us in.

Cut to Skye walking down a hallway looking for a signal. She stops outside a set of double doors and pushes on them, it doesn't open.

Skye: It's locked, but there's no lock.

"That's an oxymoron." Simmons noted.

Cut to The Bus, Fitz, holding the popcorn bowl and eating some, answers.

Fitz: Eh, check for a keypad.

Cut to Skye, she leans to the left side of the door then the right looking.

Skye: Nothing. Wait, you can hack a keypad?

"Can't you do that?" Bobbi asked Skye.

"Maybe," Skye shrugged, "Not likely though."

She looks impressed. We cut to Fitz who's face falls.

Fitz: No, not over the phone.

May: Is there a reception desk?

"What does that have to do with anything?" Lincoln asked.

Hannah shrugged.

Skye looks to her right and sees a small desk set up in the hallway, she walks toward it.

Skye: Okay, yeah.

She gets to the desk.

Skye: Well, now what do I do?

Skye looks to her left when she hears Quinn's voice.

Quinn: What are you trying to do?

"SH-eetz!" Hunter jumped up. "I want some fast food." He mumbled before he got up from his seat and headed to the table with the snacks on it.

Daisy snickered.

She sets down her glass then looks at the desk.

Skye: Just…

She chuckles.

"You're going to blow your cover." Ward frowned. Daisy's smiled slipped away. Did he sound concerned for her?

I'm hallucinating. Just great.

Skye: Looking for a pen.

She pulls one out and holds it up to him.

"Nice one." Leo commented nervously.

Skye: Here we go.

She laughs again, Quinn smiles but he's not buying what she's selling.

"You're going to have to do better than that." May said to Skye with a small smile. The latter nodded hesitantly.

Skye: Got to write down all those good ideas, you know what I mean? Of course you know what I mean. You probably have like 10 pens for all your ideas.

Quinn: What are you really doing?

She looks nervous for a moment then seems to think of something.

"Tough luck." Jemma sighed.

Skye: All right. I'm busted. I was trying to get a glimpse behind your office doors, see how things really operate.

He takes a few steps closer to her.

Quinn: I invite you here as a guest, you treat me like another corrupt institution, looking for trade secrets to leak online.

He backs up from her and puts his phone near his mouth.

"Don't let him-..."

Quinn: Security.

"...call security." Ward finished with a sigh.

Skye: No, no, no, wait.

He takes the phone down.

Skye: It's just with all these la-di-da people, you have to be so guarded, so careful. What'd you say, what secrets you reveal.

She is leaning down to the desk, she appears to be writing something.

"What are you doing?" Fury asked with an edge to his voice.

Skye: And…I was hoping that you and I could be honest with one another. If you know what I mean.

She holds up the piece of paper she was writing on, it says: SHIELD is listening. His face turns serious and she nods her head.

As Fury glowered at her, Daisy answered, "At that point in time I was working for nobody but myself. I would be doing some... Not likable stuff for a few more episodes."

Open inside The Bus. Fitz, Simmons and May are still listening in. We can hear Skye's voice over the intercom.

Skye: My office had less space, more wheels. Wow. A view of the ocean and the pool.

Quinn: Not a bad place to do business.

May: Got the dispatch leaking Hall's location. User's an alias.

Fitz: Oh, can you trace the DHCP server –

May: Trace is running, but it'll take time. Our girl?

Skye blinked.

Nobody ever called me that.

Simmons: I thought she was done for, but she's just sweet talked her way into Quinn's office.

Daisy smiled slightly.

May: How'd she manage that?

Fitz: Pbht! She probably just used her, um…

He has raised both of his hands up by his chest indicating her breasts.

Fitz was suddenly receiving several unimpressed looks.

Both Simmons and May shoot him a look and he starts to stammer.

Fitz: Uh…uh…her, uh…ah, boobs.

Simmons sighs.

"Exactly how I feel." Bobbi agreed with Jemma on the screen.

Simmons: Ugh. That's the only explanation –

She is cut off when the audio fee from Skye goes silent.

Simmons: Oh, my gosh, the signal's dead.

"Just what we need right now." May groaned.

Coulson smiled at her.

She hits a button the gets worried.

Simmons: Fitz!

Fitz: What, I didn't , she must've, oh lord.

Cut to Quinn's compound. The earpiece Skye was wearing is dropped into a Champagne glass. Skye lets out a sigh.

Fury's eye was twitching.

Skye: Much better. Haven't felt that "someone's watching my every move" feeling since I failed my driver's test.

Trip snorted.

Quinn: You want to tell me what the hell is going on?

He picks up the glass looking at the earpiece.

Quinn: S.H.I.E.L.D. got to you?

"Not such a bad thing." Daisy shrugged, not looking at the screen.

Skye: They picked me up in L.A., I helped them in a crisis, and now they want to recruit me.

Quinn: Of course they do.

"Again, not a bad thing."

He sets the glass down on his desk.

Skye: So, I played along, talk about inside info, I have a bunk on their plane. I've been gathering intel, biding my time until I could become useful. I thought this qualified.

Ward glared at Daisy. Then he frowned at Skye.

Quinn: Why would they trust you with a covert operation like this?

Skye: Something about S.H.I.E.L.D. not breaking international laws. They had no other options, whereas I like to keep mine open.

"Not a lie, but not the whole truth?" Hill asked Daisy.

"Mostly truth." The latter woman grinned.

Cut to Coulson and Ward on the beach. The come across a sign that says: DO NOT CROSS LETHAL RADIATION. Coulson bites his lip then bends down and picks up some rocks. He throws them up in the air and they hit the laser grid, flashing yellow. Ward takes a deep breath and gives Coulson a look of worry.

Ward: Next patrol any minute now.

"Well that's just dandy." Jemma exhaled slowly.

May's voice comes to them over their earpieces.

May: Skye's offline. Repeat, we've lost audio and vitals.

"Well, that sounded way more dramatic than what actually happened." Skye smirked.

"We had no way of knowing what happened." Melinda reminded the girl.

Ward: Abort is not an option, but if she's compromising –

Coulson: She's still our only way in to get to Dr. Hall.

"A risky mission," Coulson shrugged, noticing Fury's stare, "everybody had those at some point of their careers."

Ward: And we're their only way out.

We hear a man's voice behind them.

Man: Beach is all clear. Let's move up the ridge.

Coulson and Ward move quickly trying to find cover as guards come walking up toward them.

"Seriously?" Skye rolled her eyes at the screen.

A convenient hiding place nearby? Check!

Cut back to Skye and Quinn, she is now sitting on the sofa in his office.

Skye: You're saying they wanted to rope me in because I pose a genuine threat?

Fury's eye twitched. Coulson moved away from him while Hall stifled a snicker.

Quinn is standing next to one of the windows.

Quinn: Yes, and fit their profile.

Skye: Profile?

Quinn: Sure. You're a criminal. You have a warrant somewhere.

She scoffs.

Skye: Probably.

Quinn: Specialized skill set.

Skye: I try to stay humble, but fail.

"As do most criminals." Ward snorted.

Daisy shrugged, "Guilty."

Quinn: No family.

Skye has no quip for this, she lowers her eyes for a moment.

Those who were watching Daisy (not too many people, because that would be creepy) noticed that she had no reaction at the words on the screen, except a tiny smirk.

Quinn: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit a nerve, but that is what these people do. S.H.I.E.L.D.

He leans in close to her.

"How old is that guy?" Leo randomly asked Jemma.

"Probably old enough to make this illegal." Simmons answered a moment later.

"His age is the last thing the law enforcement's going to care about when he's going to be arrested." May turned to face Daisy. "He is going to be arrested, right?"

"I dunno," The latter shrugged, "the fact that I'm from the future does not mean that I'm an all knowing super hero or super villain."

Quinn: They prey on fear and loneliness and desperation, and then they offer a home to those who have no one else to turn to. I can offer you something better.

She looks away.

Fury scowled once again.

Cut back to the beach. The guards have crested the top of the ridge where Coulson and Ward are hiding. Coulson rushes out of some bushes and knocks the lead security guard's hand away from his gun. Ward fights another as Coulson takes down his. In short order they have the guards knocked out. Coulson took one of their guns and takes the clip out, he goes to clear the chamber but has a problem.

Coulson: Damn. A little rusty, I guess.

Hunter snickered and Bobbi hit him lightly on the back of the head.

Ward takes the gun out of his hands and casually throws it into the laser grid, it goes up in a puff of smoke.

Coulson: Guy's clocks ticking. Where's Skye?

Cut back to Skye and Quinn.

Quinn: Stay with us, there's no secrets, no lies and no agenda. You're free to do what you do without big brother watching over you.

"You have a brother?" Leo asked Skye.

She rolled her eyes with a small smile, "he means S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Oh..."

Quinn stands and walks to sit next to Skye on the sofa.

Quinn: But first, you have to tell me exactly what agenda S.H.I.E.L.D. sent you in here with.

Most agents tensed up, while Daisy just leaned back, seemingly uninterested in what's going on the TV.

Skye: Well, they wanted me to do whatever it takes to get in here.

She opens her purse and pulls out the compact. She looks at herself in the mirror and sees that there are red dots on the left side of the mirror.

"Clever." May nodded and both Skye and Daisy smirked.

Quinn: Get in here and…?

The lights suddenly go green. She runs a finger under one of her eyes.

Skye: Bat my eyes.

She snaps it closed then sets it on the table.

Skye: Get you talking.

Hall chuckled at the look on Quinn's face.

Cut to The Bus. A despondent looking Simmons is leaning down over the table as May studies a monitor behind her. May quickly turns when she hears a beeping sound.

May: We're in!

Simmons stands straighter.

Simmons: She's done it!

Skye grinned as Trip whistled in approval.

May: Fitz, you're up.

He quickly hurries over to the table.

Fitz: Oh, mother of all things.

He tries to cut in front of May to get at the table.

Fitz: Move, move, move!

"A little rude, but that's understandable."

Fitz flushed at Jemma's comment.

He is quickly typing away.

Cut to Coulson and Ward, they have tied the hands of the security guards. A voice comes over the security guards radio.

Man: We have a man down! Hostiles on the east ridge!

Coulson and Ward both duck when gunfire hits around them. They run to the laser grid but find it still one when a bullet hits it.

"Ooh, yeah forgot about that." Bobbi winced sympathetically.

Coulson: We need a reset here, Fitz!

Cut to The Bus, Fitz is still furiously typing.

Cut back to Coulson and Ward. They continue to duck from incoming fire as Ward pulls out his gun.

Coulson: Fitz!

"Calling his name repeatedly will not increase his productivity!"

Cut back to The Bus, Fitz is still working.

Simmons: Saying his name repeatedly does not increase productivity!

"Oh-kay," Hunter blinked, "that was weird."

Fitz: Okay, go.

Simmons: Oh, maybe it does.

The monitor behind Fitz and Simmons shows a countdown of three seconds.

Cut to Coulson and Ward, the grid goes down and they rush through. We can hear Fitz voice over their earpieces.

Fitz: System rebooting in two, one, now!

"Oh good," Izzy Hartley sighed in relief, "I was started to get worried."

For some reason Ward has waited until the last possible moment to dive through the opening. A shot is fired at them but it hits the grid instead of them. With the cover of the grid they hurry away. We next see them walking up some stairs toward the house.

Coulson: I'll look for Dr. Hall down in the lab.

Ward: I'll get Skye.

Daisy rolled her eyes.

He was so much help that time.

They split up.

We cut to Skye and Quinn.

Quinn: No, you can't be the only angle. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s thorough enough to know about me and my exploits. It takes more than a pretty face to disarm me.

A large man enters the room.

Large Man: Sir, we have a security breach.

"Well," Fitz grinned boyishly, "He wanted something more than a pretty face..."

Quinn gets off the sofa quickly.

Skye: Oh, the timing on that was perfect.

"Right!?" Bobbi grinned, fully expecting a showdown.

Quinn lets out a sigh and picks up her compact. He takes one look at it then breaks it in two and throws down the pieces. He turns to the large man, pats the large mans' chest, and then pulls out his gun and points it at Skye.

"Where the heck is Ward?" Skye yelped.

Cut to inside the lab where Dr. Hall is still working over his monitor. The door opens and Coulson enters.

Coulson: Dr. Hall.

Coulson enters the room, shoots a glance at the device, then turns his attention back on Hall.

Coulson: Agent Coulson, we have an exit strategy.

Hall isn't look at him, he's paying attention to the device.

"Get him out of there Coulson." Fury ordered.

Phil looked at him strangely. "Can't do anything right mow sir."

Hall: S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Coulson: Yes, sir. Let's get you out of here.

Coulson heads to the door but Hall's voice stops him.

Hall: I'm sorry, Mr. Coulson, I'm right where I'm supposed to be.

He spares Coulson a brief glance then goes back to working on the device.

"Rude." Simmons sighed. She didn't really see her favorite professor in the man on the screen.

Coulson: I'll be honest, our strategy did not take into consideration you saying that.

Trip and Hunter snickered.

Cut to May on The Bus, she's still trying to locate where the leak of Hall's whereabouts came from. There are two messages on her screen: Alias Identified and Camera Memory Loading… Once it does load we see Dr. Hall looking at the camera, on the bottom of the screen it says: Alias DHCP Login Identified; Work Station 32.29.1 Camera Memory Accessed. May lets out a sigh.

May: Oh, no.

"Oh, yes." Daisy confirmed.

Cut back to Coulson in the lab with Hall. He's standing in front of the device with his back to it not paying it much attention.

Coulson: Look, I don't know what Quinn is promising you but –

Hall: An opportunity.

"Mad scientist talk," Daisy sighed, "Radcliffe was better at it."

"Who?" Simmons asked.

"Doesn't matter."

There are zapping noises coming from the device. This gets Coulson's attention finally and he looks back at the device. The black undulating mass is now sparking blue with electricity and the rings around it are spinning. Coulson looks from the device to Hall.

"Well shit." Lincoln deadpanned.

Coulson: We can't let Quinn have control of this. It's too dangerous.

Hall: We can't let anyone have control of this. That's why I'm here, to bury it at the bottom of the ocean, with him.

"Really?"

The sounds of zapping have increased and how the rings are beginning to light up with power. Coulson steps closer to the glass separating them and looks at the device. May's voice comes over Coulson's earpiece.

May: Coulson.

Cut to May on The Bus.

May: The leak came from –

Cut back to Coulson still looking at the device.

Coulson: Dr. Hall. Yeah, I'm getting that.

"A little too late," Hunter muttered, then noticed the glares, "but hey, who cares, right?"

Hall: All petitions, embargos in the world could stop Ian. He grows more powerful every day. And then I get word that he's found this.

We see the device and the rings are spinning even faster. As we watch the whole thing seems to come alive with electricity. The force of it coming alive seems to rock the whole compound, Coulson is knocked back for a second.

Hall: I'm sorry, Mr. Coulson. I had to make a choice.

"He doesn't look very sorry." Skye voiced what everyone was thinking.

Hall hits another button and holds it, this seems to discharge the energy that's been building. The cabinets in the room all open spilling out the contents and sending them toward the device.

Coulson: Something tells me that wasn't the "off" button!

"Maybe it is an off button," Trip spoke, not noticing the incredulous stares, "for gravity."

Suddenly Coulson is ripped off his feet and throw to the right out of frame.

"Good luck with that." Hill winced.

We open back inside the lab. Coulson is knocked out on the floor with bottles and various things strewn around him. He wakes up with a gasp and puts his hand to his earpiece.

Coulson: Guys, we need to talk.

"No duh." Skye leaned back on her seat.

Cut to May, she's walking down one of the sets of metal stairs, she puts her hand to her own earpiece.

May: Lost you for a minute. We're aware of the problem, sir. Hall wanted Quinn to kidnap him?

May enters Fitz-Simmons' lab, they are busy at work.

Fitz: Yeah, why would he do that?

Simmons: What is wrong with him?

"Many, many things." Daisy said. FitzSimmons gave her a questioning look.

Cut to Coulson still trying to get his bearings and get to his feet.

Coulson: Quinn built a gravity generator, like the one we found but bigger. Hall knew Quinn would need him to control its raw power, but Hall just wanted to unleash it.

Coulson has managed to get to his knees but grunts in pain.

"How the hell did you solve this?" Mac turned to Daisy.

"Just watch." She pointed at the screen.

"This is going to get annoying really quickly."

Cut back to the lab on The Bus.

Simmons: The one that we found was 2.5 centimeters in diameter. It stopped a semi.

Cut back to Coulson.

Simmons: How big are we talking?

Coulson: 12 feet. It'll definitely take down the entire compound.

"I was thinking more like the whole island." Simmons trailed off.

Cut to the lab on the bus.

Simmons: It'll skink the place.

Fitz: No, it'll do more than that.

Cut to Coulson.

Coulson: Work a solution. I'll disconnect the power before things get…

He's finally able to stand taller on his knees. When he does he sees that he is hanging upside down on the ceiling. The only thing left on the real ground is the monitor Hall was using, and that's cause it's actually bolted to the floor.

"Well shit." Fury stared at the screen, not believing his eye.

Coulson: Crazy.

The camera does a 180 spin so that the room is right for us from Coulson's perspective. As the camera spins Hall enters the room holding a gun.

Hall: They can't help you.

"I didn't say that somebody could?" Coulson questioned.

"Evil douche bags always say things that don't make sense," Daisy rolled her eyes at the screen, "remember that."

He walks over to the cabinet that held the bottle of booze and pulls it out showing it to Coulson with a smile.

Hall: Soon, It'll reach and exponential acceleration state.

"Well isn't that wonderful?" Fitz sighed.

Is there any alcohol on the snack table?

Hall has pulled a glass out of the cabinet. He bends down and picks up a chair righting it. Coulson gets off the floor and stands. Hall is looking at the device so Coulson looks at it too.

Hall: I'm sorry.

"And they repeat themselves," Daisy rubbed her temple, "a lot."

"Does it get annoying?"

"Oh, very."

The device is spinning really face, all the lines are glowing on it.

Coulson: My team's here, good people.

Hall: Sworn to protect all mankind? That's what I'm doing, I promise. Making things right.

"Why do they all say that?" Hunter groaned. "It's so fricking irritating."

He holds up his glass at a weird angle and pours his drink, the liquid goes sideways. He chuckles then takes a drink. Suddenly the whole room shifts. Coulson is thrown against a wall as Hall stands and his chair his swept away from him. Hall's starts walking with an exaggerated slant to his body.

"Weirdo." Skye mumbled.

Cut to a Skye and Quinn. Quinn pushes Skye against the wall with one hand holding her neck and the other holding the gun to her head.

"Oh yeah," she shot up in her seat, "what was it you said he was too cowardly to do anything himself?" She asked Fury, who looked mildly uncomfortable.

Quinn: Don't you get it? S.H.I.E.L.D.'s against everything you stand for. They're Big Brother.

"...he's nuts, isn't he?" Lincoln snorted.

"You didn't notice it before?"

Skye: Maybe. But they're the nice Big Brother who stands up for his helpless little brother when he's getting beat up because he ate a piece of cake that he wasn't…

Skye is rambling and Quinn looks lost.

Ward face palmed while FitzSimmons burst into laughter.

Skye: You know…you kidnapped a person!

Quinn gets upset at this, he releases Skye and steps away from her.

"The hell?" May blinked.

Quinn: I set him free! I saved him!

"Oh, that."

Skye massages her neck once it's free.

Quinn: And I could've saved you.

"He sounds..." Skye bit her lip.

"Deranged?" Simmons offered.

"Unhinged?"Fitz provided.

"Fuck up." May said.

Cut to Ward, he enters a hallway and looks around

Ward: This place is massive.

He chooses to go left.

"Don't tell me you got lost." Skye stared at Ward with a judgmental look.

"That mansion looked giant!"

"I didn't get lost." Daisy rolled her eyes. "And I didn't even have any training yet."

Cut to The Bus. There is map of the compound up on the monitor in the lab. May is there, along with Fitz-Simmons, leading Ward.

Ward: Where am I heading?

May: Southwest corner.

"And I don't remember hearing them telling me where to go." She added.

We cut back to Ward. He starts to move but then stops, the device is starting to affect the gravity above.

May: Ward, tell me you've got things covered on the ground.

Cut back to The Bus.

May: I can't do a damn thing from out here.

Cut back to Ward, he's looking around trying to figure out what's happening.

Ward: I'm working on it.

He goes the opposite way down the hallway.

Cut to Skye and Quinn, the ground below them rocks causing them to lose their balance. Quinn becomes even more upset.

"And we're back to that." Skye groaned.

Quinn: Tell me what they're doing!

Skye remains silent and looks scared, Quinn lowers his voice and puts softness in it.

Quinn: Tell me what they're doing. You have to talk. You have no other way out of this.

Daisy raised an eyebrow.

He laughs and pulls his gun up to point at her head again.

"Oh, he's definitely unstable." Bobbi winced.

Quinn: You're expendable to S.H.I.E.L.D. They sent you in here with nothing.

Skye busts out the move Ward taught her on The Bus, disarming Quinn of his gun. She points it at Quinn and his bodyguard.

"Nice!" Coulson whooped, while May's lips twitched up.

Skye: They taught me a few things.

Security Guard: Kids got balls.

Skye: Thanks but, yuck.

Bobbi clapped Skye on the back and laughed.

Quinn: But, do you have what it takes to pull the trigger?

Skye thinks about this, her eyes go wide.

Skye: Nope.

She drops the gun, runs out the door and leaps off the balcony into the pool below.

"A disarming maneuver AND a badass exit." Trip blinked at the screen. Then he turned to Maria Hill. "Can you just make her an agent now?"

She snorted in amusement.

Cut back to inside the room with Quinn.

Quinn: Get her.

The second body guard rushes past Quinn and the first toward the doorway. They are all once again knocked around from the device. This time Quinn falls to the floor. There are two pins there and for a moment they balance on their points, then lower. Quinn rolls his eyes.

Quinn: Hall. We have to evacuate. Get the chopper. Now!

"Don't tell me he gets away?!" Hunter pouted.

"He gets away." Daisy scratched the back of her head.

Hunter groaned in dismay.

The guard hurry to do his bidding.

Cut back to inside the compounds lab. The device is running even faster now. Coulson is sliding along one of the walls, going upwards toward the ceiling. Hall gets to his feet and points the gun on Coulson.

Hall: All I had to do to get access to Quinn's lab was drop little clues, create puzzles for him to solve. Quinn likes to feel smart.

Daisy disguised her laugh as a cough. Unsuccessfully.

Coulson: So you leaked your location. Why not try reasoning with him?

Hall: You can't reason with an addict, and he's addicted to exploiting opportunities. He never gives a thought to the friends, ecosystems, future generations left ruin in his wake.

"That's one thing we can agree on." Daisy said quietly.

Nobody tried to tell her that she was talking to a TV.

Coulson: Like Agents Fitz and Simmons, your former students?

Hall drops the gun down taking this in.

"Even the most unstable people care." May said quietly as she saw FitzSimmons stunned looks.

Coulson: I've got them in my ear right now telling me you're not a bad guy. We could've worked with you on this.

The devices powers up more and sends out another blast knocking them around. Hall maintains his footing but Coulson falls to the floor.

Hall: S.H.I.E.L.D.?

"Didn't he ask that earlier?"

Hall gets upset.

Hall: S.H.I.E.L.D. is just as guilty of the same thing, experimentation without thought of consequences! Your search for an unlimited power source, brought an alien invasion.

Coulson nods his head.

Coulson: Fair point.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. helped clean it up though." Ward muttered. "While some people just exploited the chaos."

The room rocks again and Hall falls to his knees, he is still pointing the gun at Coulson however. Coulson tries to regain his footing.

Hall: This element is far too powerful for you, for him, for anyone! I don't have to tell you that.

Another tremor rocks the room.

Hall: You're feeling it now.

"The sun?" Fury asked Hill.

"The sun." She answered.

Dasiy rolled her eyes.

More like the Fridge.

Once again the room shifts causing them both to lose their footing.

Cut to outside, a helicopter takes flight. It seems like the party is still going on but all the party goers and help staff are frightened and trying to figure out what's going on. Skye runs past them. She stops for a moment, figures out where she is and continues running. She sees a couple of security guards appear from a flight of steps and turns to run the other way. One guard comes up from that way blocking her escape. The two behind her catcher her and hold her by her arms.

"Should've kept the gun." Daisy sighed.

Skye: No, no, no, no! Please, please!

Ward suddenly appears behind the one guard, when the guard turns Ward elbows him in the face then fights him. The other two guard release Skye and fight Ward. Ward quickly takes the three guard out. Once she's sure the guards are down Skye rushes to Ward, she is nearly clinging to him and panting with fright.

Daisy rolled her eyes at her past self.

Ward: Are you hurt?

She shakes her head.

Ward: Just follow my orders. I'll get us out of here.

He takes her hand and leads her away.

Bu there is a tiny smile on her face.

Cut to inside the lab where all hell is breaking lose. Papers, bottles, people and a gun are flying all around the room. Hall gets to the gun before Coulson can but Coulson is able to hit Hall when they both stand up. He knocks Hall down and takes control of the gun.

Hall: I see the future, Mr. Coulson, and it's a catastrophe.

Daisy closed her eyes, remembering a person who could really see the future. She still wished she could do more for him and his family.

Now that the room is calm we can see that the "floor" now is actually the wall with the window that leads into the device.

Coulson: I just see a lot of people in trouble.

He pulls a wire down from the wall causing sparks.

Coulson: Nothing, Fitz-Simmons?

Cut to the lab on The Bus.

Coulson: I tried to cut the power. It's still going.

"Well politics."

Everybody stared strangely at Daisy.

"What?" She asked.

"Politics? What do politics have to do with this?" Simmons inquired.

"Funny story," Daisy smirked, "In the future you told me that I curse too much. So I replace the actual curse words with normal words that still have negative effects."

"Politics though?" Coulson asked with a smile.

"Don't diss it! Politics, twilight, and oopsy daisy are my favorites."

"Seriously?" Trip snickered.

"Oh, I'm dead serious."

They both sit up straighter.

Fitz: You need to find a catalyst.

Simmons: Find a catalyst. Something to create a chemical reaction in the core.

"Even after years of working with her I still barely understand half of what she says." Daisy sighed with a smile.

Cut back to the lab in the compound.

Coulson: It's not too late to do the right thing. Help me find a catalyst.

Hall: I am doing the right thing, a completely selfless act. I know that history never celebrates what didn't happen. They'll call this a – a tragedy.

"I NEVER would have imagined that." Victoria Hand of all people snarked at the screen.

The camera pans over to show Ward and Skye looking in the little window on the door.

Hall: They won't understand the good I did here.

"Didn't have to extend a lot of brainpower on THAT one, did you?" Isabelle Harley snorted.

We cut to Coulson, he sees them but keeps his attention on Hall.

Coulson: Killing innocent people?

Hall looks insulted.

Hall: Saving millions. We have to live with the choices we make, but sometimes we have to die with them, too.

"Yeah, isn't Quinn gonna save him with his helicopter?" May frowned.

Coulson lowers his gun.

Coulson: I understand. You made a hard call.

Hall: Yes.

Coulson: And now I have to make mine.

He fires the gun into the window below them, the one that leads directly into the device. Coulson jumps up and grabs a wire hanging above his head. Hall isn't so lucky. He drops through the open window and falls into the device. The undulating black mass envelopes Hall in slow motion eventually covering his body and face. Once this happens everything in the room falls into its proper place with gravity returned to normal – this includes Coulson. The door opens and Ward and Skye enter. Coulson looks at the device and Ward and Skye do the same. The undulating black mass is still as it was, no bigger having absorbed Hall, and the rings slow to a stop. Skye and Ward both shoot a look to Coulson then look back at the device.

"...I don't know what to say to that."

"Yep."

"Me neither."

Cut to some sort of security footage. There is a young looking man on the screen and Coulson is speaking to him from The Bus.

Coulson: Say it back to me.

Young Agent: Deepest level of the fridge, unmarked vault, no access granted.

Thought so.

Behind the Young Agent a forklift is backing up then pulling away, we can see the device has just be unloaded from it.

Coulson: And no recorded entry, I don't want this listed. I don't want it flagged for the slingshot.

We can now see that it looks like the device was loaded onto a truck, they are closing the doors in the background.

Coulson: Anyone finds out, you're responsible, and suffering. Understood?

"That's a little harsh." May looked stern.

Coulson shrugged.

Young Agent: Yes, Sir.

Coulson: That's what Hall would've wanted.

We hear a beep of the feed cutting out and Coulson turns to his desk and sighs. He picks up his gun and looks at it with confusion.

Coulson: I used to have this down.

He is obviously still caught up in the fact that he couldn't disarm the gun on the beach earlier. He's trying to do it with his own pistol.

Coulson: Should be just muscle memory.

Hill winced.

He's having no luck. We hear May's voice off screen.

May: You're making a habit of it, sir.

May is standing in the doorway leaning against it with her arms crossed.

Coulson: Trying. Guess I'm a little rusty.

"A little?"

"Don't rub it in Agent Ward."

May: Of these close calls, I mean.

Coulson looks up from his gun at her words.

May: I don't enjoy running back end.

Daisy grinned.

Coulson turns to face her after setting down his gun.

Coulson: You want off the plane? Go ahead.

May stands up straight and walks toward Coulson.

May: I want in.

And so did Skye and FitzSimmons.

She stops before him and puts her hands behind her back, standing up straight.

May: Reporting for combat next time it's up.

Coulson: You committed to the cause or just watching my back?

She gives a ghost of a smile.

"Both." May admitted.

May: Same thing.

She starts away.

May: And you are a little rusty.

With that she leaves as Coulson smiles.

Aww, they have such a long way to go.

Cut to the cargo area, Skye is there punching the bag. Ward enters from above and looks down at her with a smile. After a second he walks down the stairs. Skye shows no indication he's there, but she knows. While they speak she continues to hit the bag.

Skye: You and your brothers, where'd you grow up?

Ward: Massachusetts, mostly.

"Mostly?"

Ward didn't answer.

Skye: A house?

Ward: You didn't?

This question causes her to stop hitting, she steadies the bag and looks at Ward.

Skye: One house.

Skye frowned.

She walks away from the bag messing with the tape around her hands. She passed by Ward still standing on the last stair, when she does he follows after.

Skye: The Brodys.

She picks up a water bottle taking a drink.

Skye: I was 9. Sent me back to St. Agnes after a month. Said I wasn't a good fit.

Daisy stared at the screen blankly.

Was it because of?

Ward: Foster parents. Your first?

Skye: My third.

Ward walks a bit closer to her.

Skye: I had heard it before, but…this one was different.

She looks down sadly.

Ward: Cause you wanted them to like you.

Now she looks up at Ward, he gets it, and she nods.

Skye: Bad.

Skye flinched at the reminder. Lots of people looked at her with pity or sympathy.

She looks away seeming lost in the memories.

Skye: I called her "mom" once, tried it out.

She lets out a deep sigh then walks back over to the bag.

Skye: Guess it wasn't a good fit.

She begins to hit the bag again.

She let out a deep breath before getting up to get a drink.

Skye: Hoping for something and losing it hurts more than never hoping for anything.

Simmons turned to Daisy."Please tell me this isn't one of those a lesson an episode sort of show."

Daisy snorted and shook her head.

Ward walks over to the bag and holds the opposite side from Skye. After a second she looks at him.

Ward: We won't turn our back.

Skye: Doesn't matter. I made my choice. I want this. Bad.

Daisy had a ghost of a smile on her face, while Skye frowned.

She gets into punching, Ward nods and holds the bag tighter.

Skye: And I know there's a truth serum.

"Yeah?" Skye perked up.

Ward: Whatever you say, Rookie.

Title logo.

Cut to some sort of vault. Inside is the black undulating box, it is housed inside a clear glass box. Two men push the heavy vault door shut as we cut inside the vault. We see the black mass from the backside as the Young Agent watches on as the vault is closed. The camera pans down to the mass and we watch it ripple and move.

We cut outside the vault, the two men get the door closed and spin the wheels locking it. The two men move away ad Young Agent walks to the door. He twists one of the wheels more securing the lock. There is a marker on the door: L23-826-59. Young Agent removes the marker from the door. He puts it inside a inside coat pocket and walks away.

Cut to inside the vault, we are once again looking at the black mass from the backside. It continues to ripple when suddenly a hand shoots out of it reaching before it is suddenly sucked back inside the mass.

"What was that!?" Simmons yelped and looked at Daisy.

"Hall," The latter answered, "but we didn't have any problems with him."

She stood up. "Now excuse me, I have to make a call."
