Chapter 40: The Fateful Day

Everyone returned to the world of Minecraft, as it was the last world in the entire universe that remained. "Home. We're home," Steve said as he rapidly dug some blocks of dirt. "That's a guy made out of cube," Mr. Game & Watch said, surprised. "You're the one talking?" Kazooie questioned. "Falco!" Slippy yelled as he jumped on top of him. "AH! Slippy! You're crushing me!" Falco yelled. "Good to have you back, Lombardi," Peppy said. "It's good to be back, even though I don't completely understand what happened," Falco said.

"Cloud? Barret, where's Cloud?" Tifa asked. "I'm sorry. He… He stayed back," Barret said. "What? Why would he do that?" Tifa asked in disbelief. "It was Sephiroth," Donald said. "Sephiroth? He was here," Tifa said. "He sure was. He dealt a huge blow," Mickey said. "What's left to do? We lost our army. We are in the last remaining world. What is there to do?" Riku asked.

"Pika, Pi," Pikachu said. Lucario sighed and said nothing. "Pichu. Pichu," Pichu said. "Lucario?" Peach asked. "Quiet," Lucario said. "But, Lucario," Peach said. "I said quiet! I had told you we would not stand a chance against an army! Heart was not enough!" Lucario yelled. "And what? You would've stayed in your world and waited for it to be taken!" Peach yelled back. "It doesn't matter anymore! We've lost! We're on the last world! I wouldn't be surprised if the Subspace Army hadn't placed a bomb here!" Lucario yelled, "Just leave me alone!" Lucario stormed off. Peach was about to run after him until Ryu stopped him. "Leave him. He needs time," Ryu said. "I'm afraid we don't have much, if any," Peach said.

"Well, would you look at that Mario? He looks like a spitting image of you," Luigi said. "Oh my goodness. It's Great Uncle Luigi!" Dr. Mario exclaimed happily. "Whoa, he does," Mario said. "Great Grandpappy Mario. It's an honor to meet-a you," Dr. Mario said. "Likewise, uh?" Mario asked. "I am Mario Junior Junior Junior, or you can call me Dr. Mario," he said. "Huh? If I'm your great grandfather, does that mean me and Peach?" Mario asked. "Oh yeah!" Dr. Mario exclaimed. "Well, first thing's first, I'm gonna make sure my kids can at least come up with a much more unique name," Mario said. "Oh, how about, Louie," Luigi said. "Yeah, sure Luigi," Mario said.

Lucina sighed. Marth walked up to her. "Why did you pull me away from helping my father?" Lucina asked. "It wouldn't have done anything more than get yourself killed," Marth said. "How would you know that?" Lucina asked. "Because I know what blind rage is capable of. Either way, we won't be able to fight if we all die," Marth said. "Fight? What fight? We're outmatched. We can't-" Lucina said. "Did that stop you from returning in time and preventing that terrible future?" Marth asked. "I don't know. We don't know what happens after that point," Lucina said. "Well, we're still here, and there's bound to be a reason why. Someone out there is telling us to continue the fight, and I'll ensure that. I just hope you're there so we may fight side by side," Marth said. "Hm," Lucina groaned.

"So you're telling me you never betrayed me?" King Dedede asked. "Yes," Meta Knight said. "And your spaceship was taken?" King Dedede asked. "Yes," Meta Knight said. "And you got it back?" King Dedede asked. "Yes, your majesty," Meta Knight said. "Okay good, 'cause I was going to give you a big 'ol wallop," King Dedede said. "If I were to betray you, I would've done it more subtly, Your Majesty," Meta Knight said. "Okay. Okay. Wait, what?" King Dedede asked. Kirby laughed.

"Nice to see you again, Silver. Although I hope that the next time you come back from the future it is just to visit," Sonic said. "Well maybe if you didn't mess up the past/present so much, I wouldn't have to," Silver said. "You know most of it isn't me, right?" Sonic asked. "Yeah, alright, I'll give you that," Silver said. "Hm?" Tails questioned. "What is up Tails?" Sonic asked. "It seems Subspace is increasing, or expanding. It's covering everything. Soon it will surround this place," he said. "So what you're telling me is that we're sitting ducks here?" Knuckles asked. "Yes, and no. I've been wondering how the Subspace Army generals could enter Subspace freely without converting into trophies, and I found that their portals seem to act as something fast. Fast enough before the barrier of Subspace can affect their fighter form," Tails said. "So all I gotta do is run fast to get there? Too easy," Sonic said. "Not necessarily. Unfortunately, it seems when the Subspace Bomb is detonated, it is too quick for our eyes to see," he said, "But if we can enter Subspace through a location already sent, then we can enter." "What you're saying is that we need to go fast inside a Subspace Bubble and that's how we enter," Silver said. "Yes. Unfortunately, Sonic, while your speed is capable of breaking through to the other side, it won't work unless you have some ground and last I checked space doesn't have much gravity or ground," Tails said. "Got it," Sonic said, disappointed. "Best we tell the others," Amy said.

R.O.B. looked at the sky. "What's up with him?" Samus asked. "R.O.B., well you remember that Ancient Minister, do you?" Captain Falcon asked. "Yes. Wait, you're not saying?" Samus asked. "He was the Ancient Minister, but he revealed that he was forced to do all the things he did because the Subspace Army threatened the other R. ," Mega Man said, "But then when the Subspace Army began to blow up the Subspace Bombs, using the R. , R.O.B. had enough and was our ally inside the Subspace Army." Samus sighed, "I see." "Well now. Now he's the last of his kind because the rest of the R. were destroyed back at the Keyblade Graveyard," Mega Man said. R.O.B. continued to look at the sky.

"I am glad to see you all are alright," Shulk said. "Likewise Shulk. Honestly, we didn't expect we'd see you again," Rex said. "Neither did we, but luckily our paths crossed once more," Fiora said. "Although I did wish it was under better circumstances," Nia said. "So, these are your friends from the other world?" Melia asked. "Oh. Oh. Riki is so happy to see you," Riki said. "Likewise Heropon Riki! Can you believe it? There are heropons!" Tora exclaimed. "Poppi can barely contain her excitement!" Poppi said. "No offense there mates, but it seems we're kinda on our lowest points," Reyn said. "Aye, I agree chum. Unfortunately, we did lose many," Zeke said. "Yes, but that has never stopped us before. I'm sure the others will come up with a plan, but for now, we wait," Pyra said. "Glad to see you have that optimism Pyra. And I'll assume Mythra still has her unique personality," Shulk said. Mythra switched over. "Yeah, and also rude," she said.

The Duck Hunt dog ran around. The duck quacked at him. "Waka? Whoa! Stop running around me! You're making me d-d-dizzy," Pac-Man said as he spun around too. "You're an interesting-looking guy," Kairi said. "Waka? Well, I'm Pac-Man!" He introduced himself. "I'm Kairi. I saw you during the battle, but I didn't think it'd be a good time to introduce myself," she said. "No problem!" Pac-Man exclaimed with a thumbs up. The Duck Hunt dog went up to Kairi and licked her in the face. Kairi giggled, "That tickles."

[Inside Subspace]

Ganondorf, Bowser, Dr. Eggman, Mewtwo, Wolf, and King K. Rool, followed by the Koopalings, Bayonetta, and Kamek bowed down near a ledge. The sophisticated and the maniacal laughs of the Master and Crazy Hands could be heard as they appeared before them. Before them, Ganondorf presented them with all eight Convergence Crystals and the Crosses of Light & Dark. "We have successfully retrieved the artifacts. Now only one world remains," Ganondorf said. "Along with the heroes," Master Hand said. "They shouldn't pose a threat anymore. Now we make our conquest," Dr. Eggman said. "No. The heroes must be dealt with!" Crazy Hand yelled. "Indeed. They always manage to find a way to meddle," Master Hand said. "Finish the job! And you'll get what is coming to you!" Crazy Hand ordered. "As you wish," Ganondorf said. The Master and Crazy Hands disappeared through the void of Subspace. "Why is it that they only appear here? Why not anywhere else more convenient?" Mewtwo asked. "They have their reasons, but now we seek the vengeance that we longed for. Prepare the Subspace Warship," Ganondorf said, "One hit shall suffice."

[Minecraft World]

"So that's what Tails said. Do you think we might be able to?" Amy asked. "The calculations are sufficient. Unfortunately, they have their army in their hands. And their warship," R.O.B. said. "Yes. I have been working on that. You said they carry most of their army in their warship, right?" Tails asked. "Correct," R.O.B. said. "And those weapons are highly advanced, but if a small object were to go at approximately Mach 1, then it might be able to break through, destroying their entire warship," Tails said. "Calculations are sufficient," R.O.B. said. "Well I was told that I can't run at full speed without a world's gravity, so how do we get someone at Mach 1?" Sonic asked. "May I impede?" Meta Knight asked. "AH!' Sonic yelled as Meta Knight appeared behind him from out of nowhere. "There is one object in the known universe that can go faster than the speed of light," Meta Knight said as he looked at Kirby playing on his warp star. "Can he get the job done?" Tails asked. "Kirby is more than capable," Meta Knight said. "Well, alright," Tails said, "That still leaves out facing the Subspace Army's weapons. The Great Fox and The Halberd are too big. They'll never be able to dodge their cannons." "Indeed, that is why I have a proposal," Meta Knight said.

Lucario stood, meditating. He sighed. "We've lost so much. How can they even think about continuing the fight?" "Because we still have so much to gain," Riku said as he approached Lucario. "What is left to gain?" Lucario asked. "That's for each one of us to find out," Riku said, "We all have our reasons, and I have a feeling you still have the spark to fight." Lucario shrugged and grumbled. Riku looked down at Sora who was helping put some hope to those who feel there's not much left. "Fighting, it's better than embracing the cold darkness. The darkness is scary, but it is our duty to find a balance," he said. Lucario took a deep breath and nodded, "Thank you." Riku nodded.

Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Fox, and Pikachu stood on top of the Halberd and faced everyone. Everyone looked up. "Hey everyone. I know it's been rough, but we still have a fight to win," Mario said. "Our target now. It's not going to be simple, but if the plan works, then we may be able to overcome this challenge. We're going to invade Subspace, head-on," Fox said. "A head-on challenge? I like this plan already," Knuckles said. "No offense, but how sure are you that this will work?" Aqua asked. "If we gotta be honest, it's our last resort. The Subspace Army is on its way, and we know that their turf is in there, but they don't get the convenience of dropping a bomb on us there. In our opinion, we'll stand a better chance," Samus said. "But to do that we all need to pull in our weight and work together. We've all been fighting our battles since the moment we met. Many of us fought our own battles before joining. Some of us may not have much experience fighting," Fox said. "But we can still do our part. We'll go in together, as a team, no, an army. The Subspace Army won't know what they'll get. They're not expecting us to go inside Subspace and fight them there," Mario said. Link nodded. "Pika. Pika Pi. Pika. Pikachu," Pikachu said. "I'm sorry, what did he say?" Peach asked. "We take them on," Lucario said as he arrived. Lucario nodded and Peach understood and nodded back. "We've lost so many friends and family already," Samus said. "It's going to be tough nonetheless when we have to fight our friends in there, but I do think we can get them back," Mario said. "How exactly are we going to get there without any trouble?" Sheik asked. "Oh, we're gonna have trouble, but we're going to slam them harder!" Donkey Kong yelled. "How exactly?" Joker asked. "Okay, everyone gather up. We have our own invasion to do," Fox said.

The Subspace Warship was approaching the world of Minecraft. "A cubic planet?" Dr. Eggman questioned, "This defies all known laws of science." "Soon, there will be no need to question it," Mewtwo said. Ganondorf walked out on a platform. Following him, in order, were Bowser, Mewtwo, Wolf, and King K. Rool. Dr. Eggman did some typing. "Okay, my special project is ready," he mumbled to himself. "What was that?" Bayonetta asked. "I mean, the Subspace Cannon is ready," he said. "How does this cannon function exactly?" Bayonetta asked. "Well, I am glad you asked. I based the capabilities of the beam based on work from my grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik. Using a high amount of Shadow Bugs, I can tap into the same capabilities of a Shadow Cannon and merge the Subspace Bomb with the cannon. Thus, this cannon has the same capabilities of one-thousand Subspace Bombs hitting at the same time," Dr. Eggman said. "And if those nasty heroes give us any trouble?" Kamek asked. "I designed this warship with the most advanced weapons there are to offer. It would make the strongest of governments tremble before us," Dr. Eggman said, "But the need for them should be unnecessary for we'll attack the heroes before they could even leave this world's atmosphere." "How diabolical!" Kamek exclaimed delightfully. "Charging sequence should be initiated dear doctor," Ludwig said. "Good. Now let us go witness the fireworks," Dr. Eggman said.

All the villains were on the same platform, witnessing the end of their conquest. "Charging is at 50% and rising," Ludwig said. The warship's cannon began to light up slowly. "Rising. Rising," Ludwig said. The warship's cannon lit up more. At the front of the cannon was an orb of charged-up energy. "97%. 98," Ludwig said. All the lights lit up as the orb at the front was nearly unbearable to contain itself. "It is at full capacity," Ludwig said. "Let this day be known as the victory of our conquest. The day Subspace takes over!" Ganondorf yelled in triumph, "Fire!" Ludwig pressed a button on his tablet and the energy orb got sucked into the cannon like a vacuum. Everything went quiet for a bit. The cannon fired its beam. The beam was purple and screamed. The purple energy illuminated the villain's faces. The beam hit directly into the center of Minecraft and stopped as its full energy penetrated Minecraft and the power of Subspace covered the entire planet. "It is done," Mewtwo said. "At long last! Goodbye, Mario!" Bowser yelled. "AHAHAHA!" King K. Rool laughed. "HOHOHOHO!" Dr. Eggman laughed. The Koopalings celebrated. "The entire universe is ours!" Wolf yelled as he howled.

Ganondorf looked towards the overtaken world, but he believed he saw two lights approaching. He squinted. He witnessed the sight of the Great Fox and The Halberd approaching them. The villains' celebration was quickly over. "What?! Impossible!" Dr. Eggman yelled as he looked at his radar, "We have two vessels approaching!" "No!" Bowser yelled. "They're attempting to enter Subspace! A bold move!" Mewtwo said. "Well, we're not going to let them!" Wolf yelled. "Fire all weapons. We'll collect the bodies afterward," Ganondorf said. Dr. Eggman pressed a button. The Warship's cannon had come out and began shooting. The Halberd and Great Fox picked up their speed as they tried to get to the warship before getting hit. It was a storm caused by the cannons. The Halberd and Great Fox were hit several times before one cannon beam hit them both in the direct center. The Halberd and Great Fox screamed as they came apart and became a fog of smoke and flame. "It's over at last!" King K. Rool yelled. "No!" Ganondorf yelled. From the fog of smoke and flame, several smaller ships broke through. Samus' Gunship, Captain Falcon's Falcon Flier, Tails' Tornado, Sora's Gummi Ship, and Star Fox's Arwings, all were coming in fast. "It was a decoy!" Wolf yelled. "Fire all cannons! Now! Don't let them through!" Ganondorf yelled. The Subspace was shooting all its projectiles. The ships were small enough to maneuver themselves around the projectiles, narrowly dodging all of them. Still, the number of arms that the Subspace Warship was great, until… To the side a single star lit up. Kirby rode on his Warp Star. He carried Meta Knight's sword, Galaxia. "What?!" Ganondorf exclaimed. "AH!" Kirby screamed. Kirby flew the Warp Star through the Subspace Warship and used Galaxia to slice through it. The Subspace Warship began erupting into flames. Ganondorf turned around and entered the Subspace Bubble behind him, being followed by the villains. The Arwings and Tornado were the first to enter Subspace. Then it was followed by Kirby and the Gunship. Then the Falcon Flier and Gummi Ship entered Subspace last. The Subspace Warship was no more.

Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, and Pikachu stood in front. Behind them were Luigi, Diddy Kong, Lucario, Meta Knight, Zelda, Impa, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy. Marth, Roy, Lucina, Robin, and Byleth stood behind them. The Keyblade wielders stood behind them. Behind them, Peach, Daisy, Duck Hunt, Banjo & Kazooie, and Revali stood at the ready. Behind them were Joker, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Silver, Pichu, King Dedede, Bandana Dee, and Knuckles. Behind them were Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Captain Falcon, and Mr. Game & Watch. Then behind them were Villager, Isabelle, Steve, Alex, Saber, Nova, Brawl, and Pac-Man. Min Min, Revali, the Ice Climbers, Pink, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Shulk, Fiora, and Reyn stood at the ready. Melia, Riki, Rex, Pyra/Mythra, Nia & Dromarch, Tora, and Poppi stood ready. Mòrag, Brighid, Zeke, Pandoria, Joker, Mega Man, R.O.B., Olimar and his Pikmin, Pit, Sheik, Toon Link, Young Link, Ness, and Lucas stood. The journey into Subspace has commenced.

Mario looked over at the Subspace Horizon. He then noticed something in the distance and ran towards it. "No way," he said. He stood in front of Princess Peach's Castle, still intact despite the damage it had taken long ago. "Is this my castle?" Peach asked. "Looks like it," Mario said. "Look at that," Zelda pointed. On the other side of Peach's Castle was Hyrule Castle, again still intact. "Seventh Heaven," Tifa said. The bar had no door due to the Koopalings and Kamek's attack. "It's better if we don't look," Barret said. Sonic stared at the loop de loop in the distance. "What's with this place? All our homes were never this close to each other," Marth said. "Subspace acts like its own dimension. Basically it's a universe within a universe. It's likely that space-time could be severely different to ours," Tails said. R.O.B. grabbed a head, belonging to a R.O.B. unit. He closed his eyes in sadness.

"There has to be somewhere where they had their base. R.O.B.?" Samus asked. "They rarely took me to their base. And when they did they immediately transported me there through a portal," R.O.B. said. "If I tap into his memory banks, I might be able to gather up some information," Tails said, "If you'll let me." "You may," R.O.B. said. "Sweet," Tails said as he got to work. "Well Well," Wolf said. Everyone turned around as they saw Wolf on top of Peach's Castle. "Look what we have here. The traitor and the heroes," Wolf said. "We know you all forced the R. to do your bidding! So whatever you're going to say you better say it fast!" Mega Man yelled. "So be it," Wolf said.

Wolf jumped down and landed on his feet, and scratched his claws against the ground. "So what's it gonna be Star Fox? You're going to fight me like a man? Or are you going to hide behind your team like a coward?" Wolf asked. "Alright guys, leave him to me," Fox said. "Is that wise?" Lucario asked. "It's my battle. This isn't the big battle yet. We don't need anybody else hurt," Fox said. "Ha, good choice," Wolf said. Fox and Wolf charged towards each other. They blocked each other's kicks. They jumped back. Wolf brought out his claws and charged forward, attempting to scratch Fox but Fox kept moving backwards. "You've gotten good Star Fox, but can you beat this?" he asked. Wolf brought out his blaster. Fox jumped and landed on his hands and danced around Wolf's blasts. Fox jumped back on his feet and shot his blaster and shot Wolf's arm out of his hand. "No guns this time Wolf! Just you and me!" Fox yelled. Wolf smiled. "You'd like that, don't you," Wolf said. Wolf brought out his Shadow Cannon, charged it and shot it. Fox dodged the shadow arrow. Wolf kept shooting but Fox ran around. "Hold still!" Wolf yelled. "AH!" Fox yelled. As Wolf charged another shot, Fox kicked the Shadow Cannon up into the air as it kept charging. Fox punched and kicked Wolf a couple of times. "No!" Wolf yelled. The Shadow Cannon spun into the air until it finally shot out a shadow arrow. A bright flash appeared as the arrow hit someone. "Fox!" Falco, Peppy, and Slippy yelled. Fox came out, holding Wolf's trophy on his shoulders. "He won't be bothering us again," Fox said.

The sound of another Shadow Cannon could be heard. Samus shot out a beam from her arm cannon. It hit something. Samus walked up to the trophy and found Dark Samus. "Take that, you bitch," Samus said. Bullets flew past Samus and Samus used Dark Samus' trophy to take cover. The corrupted Sharla soldier had appeared. "Sharla!" Reyn yelled. Sharla shot at him with no hesitation. "Watch out!" Rex yelled. Rex used the Aegis Sword and sliced the shots in the air. Sonic rolled straight into Sharla. "I don't usually beat up people, unless they beat me up first, but I do think you need to chill out a bit," he said. Sharla only stared at him. "Yup, that's what I thought," Sonic said. Sharla pointed her sniper at Sonic. Min Min used her dragon ARMS to grab Sharla on the soldiers. "Not today," Min Min said. Min Min raised Sharla into the air and threw her behind her. "Is it quite alright if I impale your friend?" Marth asked. "I guess if it gets her back," Reyn said. "Remind me never to let Reyn rely on my life," Melia said. Marth impaled Sharla through the chest and turned her into a trophy. They reawakened Sharla. "What the? Where am I?" Sharla asked. "Glad to see you aren't evil anymore," Reyn said. "Reyn? Where are we? What happened?" Sharla asked. "It's a long story. I'll explain everything," Reyn said.

Tails managed to track down a signal using data from R.O.B.'s memory banks. "There we go. I managed to pinpoint a location," Tails said. "Then," Mario said. "Let's-a go," he and Dr. Mario said. "Wow, they sound exactly the same when they say that," Luigi said. They left Wolf's and Dark Samus' trophy behind, and continued their journey through Subspace. "A-are you s-sure w-we're g-going t-to be o-okay?" Lucas asked. "Don't worry. I'm sure everything will turn out good," Luigi said. Lucina walked up to Luigi. "Is that wise? Telling a kid that we'll certainly be fine?" Lucina asked. "I'm not sure. Honestly, I feel what he feels all the time. But it's better if we think positive," Luigi said. "So you're putting comfort in him?" Lucina asked. "Exactly, and also a bit in myself. Mario always told me that I can't be afraid forever, so I'm going to try," Luigi said. "I see," Lucina said. "So, how are you doing?" Luigi asked. "Fine, I suppose. It's only I came from the future in the first place to save my father," Lucina said. "Listen, I know everything seems to be all weird and we don't know where we go from here, but everything has its reason. We'll all be okay, eventually," Luigi said. Lucina nodded.

A giant monster approached the army. "Look out!" Mickey yelled. Mickey shot a beam of light from his Keyblade and dissipated the monster. "Tisk. Tisk. You all have been naughty," Bayonetta said as she approached them. "This woman," Captain Falcon said. "At least I am remembered. I remember stabbing that friend of yours with his own sword," Bayonetta said. "That was you," Shulk said. "Indeed. Rather simple honestly," Bayonetta said. "And you took the life of someone, just like that?" Shulk asked. "It's never bothered me before, darling," Bayonetta said. "What? It doesn't hurt you in any way to take a life!" Shulk yelled. "None whatsoever," Bayonetta said. "How can anybody be so heartless?" Pit asked. "Funny talk coming from an angel," Bayonetta said. "What's that supposed to mean?" Pit asked. "It just so happens that angels will only help when it benefits their god," Palutena said. "No, you're wrong," Pit said. "Am I darling? When was the last time you went on one of your missions for a personal reason?" Bayonetta asked. Pit stayed quiet. "Precisely. The only reason you're here is because your goddess told you, but now allow me to free you from that burden," Bayonetta said.

Bayonetta used her powers to summon another demon. A massive dragon-like creature with a serpent's body appeared. "Gomorrah!" Bayonetta yelled. Gomorrah screeched. Gomorrah launched its tail. Everyone jumped out of the way. "Light!" Mickey yelled. Mickey shot a beam of light and hit Gomorrah back. Gomorrah screeched. Tails blasted Gomorrah using his trusty blaster. "Tisk, tisk," Bayonetta tisked. Bayonetta shot her bullets at Tails. "AH!" Tails yelled as he covered himself. The bullets stopped in midair as Silver shielded Tails. "We're not having that," Silver said. Silver reflected them back at Bayonetta. Bayonetta danced around her own bullets, dodging them. "Hmph!" Mickey yelled. Mickey knocked Bayonetta back. "AH!" Bayonetta yelped. "As long as we have light, we'll still fight," Mickey said. "Now I'm angry," Bayonetta said. Bayonetta summoned a demon fist that went straight towards Mickey but Mickey blocked it. As Mickey fought Bayonetta's demon fist, Pit ran to the side, flanking Bayonetta. "Then you're going to be really mad about this," Pit said. Pit shot an arrow. Bayonetta jumped out of the way. "The day you will pay has arrived!" Shulk yelled as he ran up and sliced Bayonetta up into the air. "AH!" Bayonetta yelled. Mickey jumped on Shulk's head and held his keyblade out. "Ultima!" he yelled. Mickey's keyblade grew an orb at the end of it and fired a beam. "No!" Bayonetta yelled as the beam engulfed her. Gomorrah dissipated from existence as Bayonetta's trophy fell to the ground. "Let's move on," Shulk said. Everyone nodded.

The army kept walking forward. As they moved they kept witnessing some locations from their worlds. Suzaku Castle, a tree from the Kongo Isles, the Villager's Mayor House. "Oh mayor," Isabelle said. "Do not worry Isabelle. We shall rebuild it to its full glory," Villager said. "I really hope so. I put my entire career in there," Isabelle said. "These enemies have no honor, just like M. Bison. No wonder he got along with them easily," Chun Li said. "Yes, but we must remember we cannot stoop to their level," Ryu said. "How come? What happens if we do?" Villager asked. "You get to a level you'll never return from. Once you embrace that feeling, it'll never go away," Ryu said. "Like chivalry. It's honor, or nothing," Meta Knight said. "Precisely," Ryu said.

A missile shot towards. "AH!" Knuckles yelled as he punched the missile mid-air. Ahead of them Dr. Eggman's Egg Mobile descended towards the army. "Hehehe," he laughed. "Egghead! You better step out of our way and get lost!" Sonic yelled. "Oh, now why would I do that Sonic? I'd say your path must be stopped. The Smash Orb is moments away from being reformed, and now the ultimate power will be ours," Dr. Eggman said. "We're not going to let that happen," Amy said. "You out of the entire Smash Army must know that the power of the Smash Orb is too much for anyone," Tails said. "Exactly why I'll be the one in control! Soon the Eggman Empire will span over the entire universe!" Dr. Eggman yelled. "And what of your alliance with the rest of the Subspace Army?" Marth asked. "Oh please. All of them were pawns on my side. You did me a favor by riding Wolf and Bayonetta, and now all there will be is Eggman," Dr. Eggman said. Behind Eggman, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Dark Pit, and Dunban were raised up. "Get them!" Dr. Eggman yelled. The corrupted fighters charged ahead. "This won't stop us! Go! Go! Go!" Mario yelled. A couple of people charged ahead. Lucario launched an Aura Sphere at Charizard. Charizard scratched it away and blasted fire towards him. "Ice!" Riku yelled as he blocked the attack. "Perfect," Dr. Eggman mumbled with a smile. Dr. Eggman turned around and left. "Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" Knuckles yelled. "Come on! Let's go stop him!" Sonic yelled. "Right," Tails said with a nod. "You boys aren't getting all the fun," Amy said. Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles ran after Dr. Eggman. "Wait! We must stick together!" Zelda yelled. "Too late! Don't worry! I'll follow them!" Silver yelled as he flew towards them. Dark Pit charged towards Zelda. Link stood between Zelda and Dark Pit. Dunban tried to flank Link but Pit kicked Dunban back. "Oh no you don't!" Pit yelled.

Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles had chased Dr. Eggman towards the edge of Subspace, far away from any location. "Eggman! Show yourself! You're not getting away!" Sonic yelled. "Hold on, I'm detecting a large source of energy," Tails said. "Can you detect it?" Knuckles asked. "Yeah. This way. Let's go," Tails said. "And when we find Eggman," Amy said as she took out her hammer, "I'm ready to give him a knockout," Amy said. "You and I both," Knuckles said. The group followed Tails when they found themselves before some altar, or something ancient. "What is this Tails?" Sonic asked. Tails scanned it. "It's old, well not as old as the Convergence Crystals but it's old. Also, it comes from our world," Tails said, "It seems to derive from the Starfall Islands." "The Starfall Islands? Home to the Ancients?" Knuckles asked. "Yeah. I'm also surprised you know about the Ancients," Tails said. "Hey, I'm also a part-time treasure hunter," Knuckles said. "What's it doing here? Why were we led here?" Amy asked. The altar lit up. "Huh?" they questioned. Dr. Eggman came from behind it with a huge grin. "Hehehe. My ultimate plan is to unfold now," Dr. Eggman said. "Eggman!" Knuckles yelled. Dr. Eggman had a huge smile on his face as he turned a dial on his Egg Mobile. The altar shot out a red beacon. "What are you doing, Eggman?!" Sonic exclaimed. "Goodbye Sonic!" Dr. Eggman yelled. Dr. Eggman pressed a button. The beam directed towards Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles and made them disappear in thin air as the altar turned off. "OHOHOHOHOHO!" Dr. Eggman laughed, "FINALLY! THAT HEDGEHOG IS GONE FOR GOOD!" The Egg Mobile was lifted into the air. "WHAT?!" Dr. Eggman screamed. The Egg Mobile was forcefully crashed into the ground and Dr. Eggman coughed. From the smoke Silver flew through. "What did you do Eggman?!" Silver yelled. "It's too late! They're gone for good! I've won!" Dr. Eggman yelled. Silver took a deep breath. "Then I suppose this will prove if you've won," Silver said. Silver took out a Shadow Cannon from the remains of the Egg Mobile. "Wait! Silver, please! I- I!" Dr. Eggman pleaded. "Sorry Eggman, but we all know how this ends," Silver said. Silver shot out the Shadow Cannon and Dr. Eggman turned into a trophy. "I'm sorry guys, I was too late," Silver said as he flew away, leaving the Starfall Island object.

Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard fell as trophies, leaving Dark Pit and Dunban. "Dunban, I swore I would get you back, and I'll do whatever it takes to do so!" Shulk yelled. "Together Shulk!" Fiora yelled. Shulk nodded and they charged ahead. Dunban also charged towards. Shulk and Dunban clashed together. Fiora jumped up and dived. Dunban jumped out of the way. Dunban swung his sword but Fiora caught the attack with her daggers and was pushed away. "AH!" Shulk yelled as he charged ahead and pushed Dunban back. "Give me my brother back!" Fiora yelled as she got up close and clashed with Dunban, pushing him back to the point Dunban lost his balance. "This is for your own good!" Shulk yelled as he slashed Dunban straight on the chest. Dunban fell back and turned into a trophy. "Pitto!" Pit yelled. Pit clashed with Dark Pit. "Rex, are you ready?" Mythra asked. "Huh? Sure," Rex said. Rex and Mythra grabbed the Aegis Blade together, pointed it towards the sky and launched a beam of light. Shulk had a vision. "Perfect. Pit! Move out of the way!" Shulk yelled. "Huh? Sure!" Pit yelled. Pit pushed Dark Pit back and jumped back as Rex and Mythra's beam fell on top of Dark Pit and Dark Pit turned back to a trophy. Dark Pit and Dunban were reawakened shortly after. "Oh, that was not an enjoyable experience," Dunban said. "I hated it entirely," Dark Pit said. "Pitto!" Pit yelled as he jumped on top of Dark Pit. "Get off me!" Dark Pit yelled. Shulk helped Dunban up. "It is good to have you back," Shulk said. "Aye, it is good to be back. Although being impaled by my own sword is not a delightful experience," Dunban said. "Well at least now you have a story to tell," Reyn said. "Indeed," Dunban said.

The group also reawakened Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard and continued towards their destination. Alex built a pillar up. "Do you see anything?" Steve asked. "I see some sort of base up ahead!" Alex yelled. Alex glides down. Silver had also arrived. "Where's Sonic and the others?" Zelda asked. "I'm sorry. I didn't make it in time. Eggman used some laser to get rid of them," Silver said. "No trophy? Nothing?" Zelda asked. "No. They're just gone, just like that," Silver said. Zelda took a deep breath. "They'll be remembered, but for now we must make sure they will be," Samus said. Silver and Zelda nodded. Cannonballs shot towards them. The Koopalings flew around them. "This time, you die!" Bowser Jr yelled. "Jr! Maybe you gotta rethink your life choices," Mario said. "Never! I am the heir to the Koopas!" Bowser Jr yelled. Bowser Jr launched more cannonballs. "I always hated all of you!" Roy yelled. "Yeah! Die!" Morton yelled. They shot more cannonballs. "We're ending this!" Barret yelled. Barret shot bullets from his hand. "AH!" Barret yelled. "AH! No! NO!" Ludwig yelled as his propellers were hit and he fell. Steve threw a piece of TNT inside of Lemmy's Clown Car. "Oh, a shiny box," Lemmy said. Lemmy blew up and fell as a trophy. Meta Knight flew up and sliced Wendy's Clown Car. "NO! You bitch!" Wendy yelled as she fell and turned into a trophy. In a matter of moments the Koopalings all fell, leaving Bowser Jr. "What? Uh. Oh," Bowser Jr said. "Goodbye," Mario said. Zelda shot out some light that hit Bowser Jr and turned him into a trophy. "Normally I don't agree with this," Zelda said. "Yeah, well it was necessary," Mario said.

At last the entire Smash Army arrived at the Subspace Army's base. "Through here," R.O.B. said. "This is our moment. All the people we've lost. All our worlds. We'll get it all back," Fox said. "We don't let a single one get away," Samus said. "Let's-a go!" Mario yelled. Steve and Alex blew up the door and everyone ran inside. "We're here!" Mario yelled. A cannonball was shot. "Take this!" King K. Rool yelled. "Lizard Lips!" Donkey Kong yelled. Donkey Kong grabbed the cannonball and threw it back. The cannonball stopped in midair and Mewtwo threw it back on the ground. "You believe you'll win by simply invading!" Mewtwo yelled. "Aura Sphere!" Lucario yelled as he threw an aura sphere. Mewtwo stopped it in midair. "Fools!" Kamek yelled. Kamek threw more magic. "Reflect!" Kairi yelled. Kairi reflected Kamek's magic.

"Pika! Pika! Pikachu!" Pikachu yelled as he summoned a thunderbolt. Mewtwo stopped it. "Squirtle!" "Ivysaur!" Charizard roared as they all sent out a beam of their moves towards Mewtwo. Mewtwo stopped it in midair. "Pichu!" Pichu yelled as he combined his electricity with Pikachu's. "AH!" Lucairo yelled as he used a bone rush, smacked Mewtwo in the head and tossed him down. "Enough!" Mewtwo yelled, "I've given you chances! But you made your choice! Now I'll make mine!" Mewtwo sent out a dark beam. Lucario blocked it using bone rush. "Why?" Lucario asked. "Humanity does not deserve to exist! They destroy! They destroyed our way of life!" Mewtwo yelled. "Red wouldn't have wanted this!" Lucario yelled. Mewtwo stuttered for a moment, then screamed, "SHUT UP!" Mewtwo summoned multiple dark orbs and tossed them. Pikachu use Iron Tail to slice some of the orbs. "Pika! Pika!" Pikachu yelled. "Red was one of a kind! The best of humanity! His passing only proved that life! That humanity couldn't move on!" Lucario yelled, "At least that was what you thought." "I don't need your lectures!" Mewtwo yelled. "You believe humanity is greedy! Selfish! Unworthy!" Lucario yelled. "It is the truth!" Mewtwo yelled.

"Get over here Lizard Lips!" Donkey Kong yelled. "AH!" King K. Rool yelled. Donkey Kong punched King K. Rool in the face. "RAH! I've had enough!" King K. Rool yelled. King K. Rool shot out multiple cannonballs. "Hadouken!" Ryu yelled as he shot them in midair. "DK!" Diddy Kong yelled. Diddy Kong jumped on top of Donkey Kong's back and shot some peanuts. "AH! AH!" King K. Rool yelled as he was pushed back. "Banana Slamma!" Donkey Kong yelled. Donkey Kong spun around and smacked K. Rool multiple times. "AH!" Donkey Kong yelled as he pummeled King K. Rool. "AH!" King K. Rool yelled. "You're done!" Donkey Kong yelled as he gave one final punch and launched King K. Rool away. Donkey Kong smacked his chest. "AH!" Kamek yelled as he tossed magic at Donkey Kong. "Reflect!" Sora yelled as he ran up in front of Donkey Kong and countered the magic back. "AH!" Kamek yelled as he dodged to the side. Riku jumped towards Kamek. Kamek moved to the side. "Guh huh!" Banjo yelled. Kazooie nose dived Kamek and forced him into the ground. "How dare you?"! Kamek yelled.

Lucario jumped into the air and smacked Mewtwo down to the ground with bone rush. "Mewtwo! Can't you see?!" Lucario exclaimed. "See what!?" Mewtwo yelled as he shot Dark Beam. Lucario ran towards him and jumped over the beam and continued running. "This is not the way!" Lucario yelled. "And what do you mean!?" Mewtwo exclaimed. Mewtwo threw some shadow balls. "Pikachu!" Pikachu yelled. "Squirtle!" Squirtle yelled. Pikachu and Squirtle launched a thunderbolt and water gun. "You destroyed our way of life! You've not only destroyed the lives of humans, but the lives of all Pokemon!" Lucario yelled. "No! No!" Mewtwo stuttered, "You lie!" Mewtwo launched a shadow beam. Lucario used bone rush to block it. "You refuse to listen!" Lucario yelled. Charizard roared as he crashed into Mewtwo. "Back away!" Mewtwo screamed as he threw Charizard back. Ivysaur wrapped Mewtwo with vines. "Just listen!" Lucario screamed. Lucario charged up an Aura Sphere so large that it could make Ridley jealous. Lucario threw it. "Pika! Pika! CHU!" Pikachu screamed as he launched a Thunderbolt. The Aura Sphere and Thunderbolt fused together. "AH!" Mewtwo screamed as he was hit back. Mewtwo fell as a trophy. The Pokemon all collapsed and sat down. "I'm sorry it had to be this way, old friend," Lucario said.

The Keyblade wielders launched a beam of light and Kamek shielded himself. "No! No! No!" Kamek yelled. His shield broke and Kamek was hit by their full force and he fell as a trophy. "Ha! Anybody left?" Sora asked. "Don't antagonize them," Donald said. "We're still missing Bowser and Ganondorf," Mario said.

Bowser walked in front of Ganondorf as they approached the Master and Crazy Hands' ledge. "Unbelievable! Let's just use the power of the Smash Orb! Now!" Bowser demanded. "About that," Ganondorf said. Bowser turned around as Ganondorf held a Shadow Cannon in his hand. "What? What is this?!" Bowser yelled. "Did you believe we'd share this conquest? I simply sent everyone to their dooms," Ganondorf. Ganondorf began charging his Shadow Cannon. "NO!" Bowser yelled. Bowser charged towards Ganondorf. Ganondorf shot his cannon straight into Bowser, turning him into a trophy. Ganondorf threw his shadow cannon away, kicked Bowser out of his way and went towards the edge. The Master Hand and Crazy Hand appeared. They launched out beams from their fingers, and the beams grabbed one of the artifacts and they began to fuse. "Let the universe know! Our conquest is finished!" Ganondorf yelled.

The Smash Army witnessed the bright light from a distance. "They're already fusing the artifacts together!" Lucario yelled. "Come on! We have to stop them!" Mario yelled. Everyone ran towards the light. The Smash Army arrived near the ledge, seeing Bowser's trophy and Ganondorf before the Master Hand and Crazy Hand. "What the heck are those?" Rex asked, astonished. "The Master and Crazy Hand. Gods locked away due to their ambition to conquer," Lucario said. "That's who the Subspace Army was working for?" Zelda questioned. In front of Ganondorf they witnessed the eight Convergence Crystals and the Cross of the Light and the Cross of the Dark beginning their fusion. "If we can't get them back, then we must destroy them!" Marth yelled. "I agree," Revali said. Revali shot some arrows at them. Ganondorf created a barrier between the Smash Army and him. "It is too late! You cannot stop the inevitable!" Ganondorf yelled. The Master Hand and Crazy Hand acted and moved strangely. "Do you see that?" Shulk asked. "Yes. It's like they're being pulled," Meta Knight said. Ganondorf did not notice and shot a beam. "Hmph!" Zelda yelled. Zelda created a barrier of light but it was beginning to dissipate. "We gotta help her!" Sora yelled. Sora shot a beam and helped Zelda's barrier.

The Convergence Crystals and the Cross of the Light and the Cross of the Dark fused together and created a blinding light. Everyone looked away and Ganondorf looked with a smile. "It is done," he said. Everyone was ready to fight fiercely. They either held their blasters, swords, or they pumped their fist. The Smash Orb returned to existence. It glowed a rainbow light and fire covered it showing the power it has. Ganondorf bowed down to his master. "AH!" Master Hand yelled. "AH!" Crazy Hand yelled. "Hm?" Ganondorf questioned. Ganondorf stood back up and witnessed something shocking. Chains of light held the Master and Crazy Hands. The Hands kept trying to pull away from the chains. "What?!" Ganondorf exclaimed. "What is that?" Mario asked. "I- I don't know," Lucario said.

The chains led towards a deeper part of Subspace. Something came out of the darkest part of Subspace. A giant came out. A god who was blue and had a static appearance. He had no eyes but he could see. "At last," he said, "I am free!" This being brought the Smash Orb closer to him. He began draining the Smash Orb's energy. "You!" Ganondorf exclaimed. "I must thank you, but unfortunately you will not be spared either," he said. "You never wanted to let me conquer! You wanted everything for yourself!" Ganondorf yelled. "Conquer? No. I won't conquer. I am Tabuu, God of Destruction, and now everything shall be destroyed, thanks to you," he said. "AH!" Ganondorf yelled as he launched himself up towards Tabuu. Tabuu had finished consuming the Smash Orb's energy. He lifted one hand and as Ganondorf reached him, Tabuu sent him back. "AH!" Ganondorf yelped. Ganondorf fell back on top of the Master and Crazy Hand, releasing them from the Chains of Light but turning into a trophy. The Master Hand and Crazy Hand flew back and directed towards Tabuu. They launched towards Tabuu as fists. Tabuu shielded himself and sent the Master Hand and Crazy Hand back. As they landed on the ground, they tried rising but they were gone.

Tabuu directed towards the Smash Army. Fox pointed his blaster towards Tabuu. "Don't let him get away," Fox said. Everyone was ready to fight. "We'll each need to hit him tenfold," Marth said. "Stow your fear. It's now or never," Zelda said. "We'll win this. I know we will," Pit said. Tabuu unleashed his wings created by the Smash Orb's energy. He closed himself off and began collecting energy. He transformed into a black hole in the sky. The colors everywhere began distorting. Tabuu unleashed beams that screamed everywhere. The beams went towards the Smash Army.

Link countered one with his shield until it hit his shield back many times until the beam consumed back. Samus tried shooting the beams but they consumed her. Silver and Zelda tried to use their powers to hold the beams back but the beams went straight through their powers and consumed them. "Light!" the keyblade wielders yelled as they sent a beam from their keyblade. The beams also consumed them. The Blades tried to shield their Drivers but the beams went straight through. Steve and Alex were building a wall to hide behind but the beams went straight through their wall. "Mario!" Luigi yelled as he was consumed by the beam. "Luigi!" Mario yelled as the beam consumed him. Joker, Meta Knight, Revali, and Banjo & Kazooie tried flying away but the beams got to them. Pink shot down some ink and hid in it but the beam didn't miss her. Duck Hunt, Villager, Isabelle, and Pac-Man ran around as the beam hit them.

Tabuu's beams managed to overcome the fighters' numbers in mere moments. After the fighters were vanquished Tabuu launched his beams across the entire universe. Worlds destroyed at the second and soon once the beams reached everything in the universe, the universe became no more. Only debris was left of the former. Tabuu floated in the middle of the universe. Within his chain were the trophies of every fighter who fell to him. "It is not done," Tabuu said. A bright light appeared at the edge of the universe. It was like a gateway and Tabuu entered it. But, even in the darkest of endings, there will always be a beacon of hope that remains.

"Oh?" Kirby questioned.
