Chapter 13
He isn't who you think he is.
You're in love with with her.
He's a good guy.
Lucas took her hand in his as they made their way through the upscale dining room.
Victoria waved to her daughter. Brooke smiled as she headed over to the table.
"Mom. Daddy. My boyfriend." Brooke said. Smiling up at Lucas.
Lucas extended his hand.
"Lucas Scott. Thank you for including me today. I know the both of you are only checking in on Brooke."
"So this means alot." He said. Looking to the couple.
Ted shook his hand.
"Our daughter has told us alot about you." Ted replied.
"You wrote a book. You gave her access to a storefront."
"That she's now running. Clothes over bros."
"I can't help but wonder and worry that you are expecting something out of our daughter. I mean what young man offers this wanting nothing?" Victoria questioned.
"It was purchased by my mom and her plans didnt work out i offered it to Brooke and what she's created out of that is based off of her talent drive and dreams."
"That has nothing to do with me." Lucas stated matter of fact.
"I read you're book. I like it. You come from hard working people."
"You're mother runs that cafe. You're uncle that auto body shop. Both succesful in their own right." Ted proclaimed.
"I'm proud of them. I plan to make a name for myself in the writing world. I've had a love and passion for that and books all my life." Lucas said.
"We've got the bill covered order whatever you want." Ted said. To Brooke and Lucas.
"Do you plan to live in Tree Hill for the rest of you're life?" Victoria questioned.
"Yes. Its home to me. When i'm ready to settle down. It will be in Tree Hill." Lucas stated matter of fact.
Brooke glared at her mother.
"Why don't you order for us?" Lucas asked. Looking to Brooke with a smile.
Wanting to lighten the mood as he handed her the menu.
"How serious is the relationship between you and our daughter?"
"You've dated various girls. I've been told and all of a sudden. You find my daughter just as she was supposed to leave this town behind her."
"I find that interesting. And concerning. I mean Tree Hill is all you are. That isnt the case for Brooke." Victoria proclaimed.
"I support Brooke fully. I care about her. I love her very much." Lucas announced.
Victoria couldn't hide her dismay.
"That's enough questions. I'm glad we got to meet you Lucas." Ted replied.
Brooke was relieved when the food eventually made it to their table.
Once they were finished. Brooke was eager to leave and they did.

"You handled that better then i hoped."
"Do you see a future for us?" Brooke asked.
Lucas smiled at the question. "Us getting married. Being newlyweds for awhile before starting a family." He replied.
"I love this. I want this. A big family. 2boys a girl. A few years in between of course. A house that's spacious full of love and memories." Brooke added in.
"When i picture my future. I see you." Lucas admitted.
"I see us. I know life has challenges and unknowns. But i want you." Brooke admitted.
Lucas started to drive away. He drove through the familiar streets and stores. Eventually making it in front of Brooke's house.
"Keep driving." Brooke said.
So Lucas drove. The couple found themselves at the Scott beach house.
Lucas explained. That Keith had his own set of keys and gave a copy to Lucas to use when he wanted.
Brooke sighed deeply. Looking around then back at Lucas.
Lucas kissed her softly then hard.
They were all alone here. Besides the waves and the birds. It was quiet.
Brooke broke the kiss. Staring up at him.
"Why don't you show me to you're room?" Brooke asked.
Lucas stared back at her. "Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"Yes. I'm ready." Brooke confessed.
