All that fear in my heart, I couldn't let you deep down you know I still believe. You'll always be the love of my life.
Lucas entered back into the beach house quietly. He made his way up the stairs and straight towards the bedroom.
He walked inside and walked towards the bed. Its as if she was waiting for him.
Brooke smiled happily. Gazing up at him.
"You got out of bed and showered without me."
"Mean. Were you watching me sleep?" Brooke asked.
"I can't help it. You're pretty. Peaceful." Lucas replied.
"I had to take care of something." Lucas replied.
"You get ready for the day. I'll hang out." Lucas added in.
"I love you." Brooke proclaimed.
"I love you too." Lucas replied.
"I'm going to shower get redressed. I need to stop by my place and get new clothes then i'll be all yours." Brooke said.
...
Weeks Later
"We've been looking at listings for hours. Why are you being so picky?" Brooke asked. Looking to Lucas.
"I think maybe we rushed into this whole moving in together thing." Lucas replied.
Brooke's smile fell.
"I thought we were in synch and focused on the same path. You asked me to move in."
"I'm confused Luke." Brooke replied.
"You seemed serious about us taking this step. Was i wrong and you need more time?" Brooke questioned.
Lucas swallowed hard. "I think us thinking about a future together is being naive. Our careers are just taking off."
"Who knows where it could take us. Being so tied to each otther could end up being a mistake." He replid
Brooke's eyes went wide. A hurt expression came across her face.
"You're having doubts and regrets all of a sudden. None of this sounds like you. What have i missed?" Brooke insisted.
"Maybe i just wanted the fun without no strings attached."
"This whole thing got out of hand." Lucas replied.
Brooke felt her stomach twist and turn.
"Stop. You don't mean that. Talk to me."
"What is going on?" Brooke pushed.
"Luke please." Brooke pleaded. The emotion in her voice thick.
Lucas couldn't even look her in the eyes. His heart aching. His stomach in knots.
Before Brooke no strings attached made everything so much easier.
Brooke made him want to try to be the guy deserving and worthy.
Her love changing him. Repairing the broken parts of himself.
"Brooke. I didn't mean it. None of it. I'm sorry." Lucas said. Scooping her into his arms.
Brooke felt relief wash over her as she felt Lucas's kisses and words of love.
Lucas then explained in detail about the encounter with Nathan.
...
The Rivercourt
Was about to close for the night. Brooke was glad to find Nathan there.
"This friendship is over." Brooke announced.
"18 years. Over Lucas Scott. A guy you'll have thrown away in a year. This is pathetic and sad especially for you Brooke."
"He's a townie."
"I can give you everything and more. You make it so complicated." Nathan replied.
"I'm done with you. Sticking up for you. Trying to convince people why you should be in my life."
"I've grown up. I hope at some point you do." Brooke proclaimed. Before walking away from him.
