Matters Of The Heart

Chapter 24

authors note : Given the last time we saw and heard from nathan. You're concerns are valid. Stay tuned. Thank you.

Will I spend all the rest of my years wishin' I could go back?

Yeah, they all say that it gets better, it gets better, but what if I don't?

And I'm sorry that I couldn't always be your teenage dream

"According to tabloids and paps snapshots. You're a mom."

"How's that going?" Nathan asked.

"The best part of my life. I never knew i could love and feel so connected to someone."

"I'm married to Lucas." Brooke said. Showcasing her wedding ring.

"I heard about that. I'm married too. There are milestones people expect from us. And that is one of them."

"Why marry her if you aren't in love with her?" Brooke asked.

Nathan shrugged his shoulders. "You can care about someone and know its not love. Sometimes its better to put up with something because it's the choice you made. Especially since option one wasn't available." He replied.

"That isn't the case for me. I'm in love with my husband." Brooke stated matter of fact.

"That means we can be friends and no hard feelings."

"I'm relieved." Nathan replied.

"I should head back." Brooke said.

"I would love to meet to kids one of these days."

"From the pictures i've seen of them. Their beautiful."

"Its almost like they are ours." Nathan said with a laugh.

Before turning from her.

When Brooke returned to the car. Lucas was waiting in the passenger seat.

Brooke swallowed hard. Placing her hand on her stomach.

"How did it go?" Lucas asked.

"It took alot more out of me then i expected."

"I need to head home recharge. I'll see you once work is over." Brooke said. With a smile.

...

Brooke was alot more calm and put together then he expected

So he left the matter alone. Hopeful that if she needed to talk she would come to him.

Brooke kissed him goodbye. Hugged him tightly before going back inside their home.

She opened her laptop and scrolled through her social media.

One by one deleting the accounts.

Feeling the knot in the pit of her stomach growing.

...

"You unpack. I need to call my agent. I don't know what kind of roles i can get out here." Alex announced. Entering their bedroom.

"I'm going to need something to do with myself. We've talked about it maybe we should consider and take seriously having a child." Alex suggested.

"About that the doctor said we should consider a sperm donor."

"I can't have people knowing about this. Having a kid without my dna isn't happening. What would my parents say." Nathan replied.
