Gasping Alastor sat up, eyes adjusting to the bright lights around him. Patting his chest, he realized he had no wounds which was weird since he'd forced Lucifer's hand through his chest.
"Oh! Another one!" An angel said clapping her hands together as a taller one rolled her eyes. Where was, Sir Pentious looked like he was going to explode. Alastor dusted off his clothes as he stood, allowing the other to leap at him. He hated touch but he'd allow the demon come angel to do so this one time.
Wait his sleeve! Glancing down he realized he matched Pentious, his clothes had changed, his shirt was still red and black but the jacket and pants had turned white with gold highlights and pink trim, and his slacks were now white as well-edged in red at the hems, his shoes had similarly turned white with red at the tips.
How could he of all demons die and end up in heaven? The sacrifice he'd made should not have been enough to send him to Heaven given all the terrible things he was capable of.
"Why are you here happened-"As Pentious began to slur his words together to get everything out Alastor grabbed his face with a wicked grin on his face.
"Calm down. Everything should be fine down there, but I don't know how I came here." Pentious smiled brightly, his fangs glistening in the holy light before his face fell a little.
"Well, sadly you've died again…But whatever you did was noble enough to become an angel!" Trying to stop Eve's plan of murdering Lucifer by dying was hardly a noble thing to do. He had so many other characteristics that made him ineligible to be an angel.
"All I did was allow Lucifer to kill me." Pentious looked confused and so did the angels he'd been with when Alastor appeared here.
"What do you mean?" The smaller angel asked softly and Alastor, as crafty as he found not a single way in his mind to not explain truthfully what had happened to make him This .
"Eve trapped me in a deal, in which I would be the catalyst of Lucifer's death. She had me place a barrier around the Hotel to trap Lucifer in so she could kill him, the only way for the Barrier to fall was to kill me a… A friend. She thought Lucifer wouldn't be able to, so I forced the matter." The little angel looked so sad, and it made him feel sick, no one should have empathy for a monster like him.
He'd killed droves of demons as surely as the exterminators had. Done it with glee in fact, though in a few cases it had been to save weaker demons like the sweet little lamb at the butcher's shop.
"Well, that means you did something so selfless that you were deemed deserving of Heaven." The little angel said, and he wanted to shake her and scream at her that he wanted to go back. He wanted Lucifer to know that he was 'alive' still, that he hadn't killed him fully, and that they wouldn't have to be alone but that was hardly possible, was it? He would be trapped here, forever separated from Lucifer and the others of the Hotel that he had grown fond of.
Yes, he was using most of them, tricking them thanks to his little deal, controlling Husk and Niffty since they had sold their souls to him. But it was hardly difficult to grow fond of the little group as they all sought something he thought impossible, but look at Sir Pentious, at himself? They had been redeemed somehow forever separated. Sinking to his knees, Alastor hyper-ventilated he couldn't do this, he couldn't be here when Eve was still down there intending harm if she hadn't been silenced.
"I've never seen him like this, I. Honestly, he was always so controlled down there." He could hear them muttering about him, but the panic, rage, and fear would not allow him to snap at them for daring to talk about him if he wasn't even in the room!
"He's having a panic attack." The larger Angel said having been mostly quiet during his abrupt entrance to Heaven. She moved to his side and began breathing in a pattern, He recognized this…Matching her, his head cleared a little.
Standing with her help she looked down on him with a hard look, a fire burning in her eyes, this was an Angel, but they all knew that they were more than capable of destroying a demon, but he was an angel now he had any of his old powers still or was he powerless like a babe?
"What happened down there to Lucifer before you died." She asked imperiously and Alastor straightened his back, he might have been weak only a moment earlier, but he wouldn't allow it to happen again. She needed the information as much as he needed to get it off his chest.
"Eve tricked Charlie into leaving the Hotel, my sign to throw up a barrier while acting like I didn't know what was going on. She attacked but I was able to speak through my deal, telling Lucifer that the only way to destroy the barrier was to kill me…He hesitated to do so, I forced the issue." He hated this, hated how weak he had been to allow something as slimy as Eve to have a hold of his soul…Wait, she had his soul how was he here if she controlled him?
"Eve…No one has seen her for a millennium." The larger angel said softly, and he wasn't surprised. She had built up her plan, he had only been part of one-destroying Lucifer had only been the very beginning as she had wanted to take Hell and destroy it all, forcing Heaven to move so that she could destroy that too.
"She's been building an army; she wants to overthrow Hell and Heaven." The angels looked horrified by his words but it was true, he'd only been one part of a plan he only had vague notions of. Broad brush strokes from what he could learn of her movement and the consequences would be dire for all if she managed to take down Hell and Heaven. She would probably consume everything, all worlds at risk from her greed.
"Sera we need to warn them of this." Sera looked down at the little angel with a defeated sigh.
"You will go and tell Lucifer what you know of Eve's plan and help him any way you can." He blinked at the angel's words, she was…She was allowing him to go down and see Lucifer?
"As you wish."
