Eastern Air Temple
Sasuke, Korra, Tenzin, Bumi, Kya, and Jinora's spiritless body rode Oogi back to the temple. There, Ikki was riding on her air scooter and laughing while Pema picked flowers.
Meelo soon spotted Oogi. "Dad's back!"
Pema approached the group and looked around. "Where's Jinora?" Tenzin showed her Jinora's motionless body in his arms. "No!" She dropped the flowers and rushed to her husband, who handed Jinora over. "How could this have happened?"
"It was my fault." Tenzin voiced. "I should have never let Jinora enter the Spirit World without me. I couldn't protect her."
"Tenzin, there was nothing we could do." Sasuke hated it, but that was the truth. "She was the only one of us who could have gotten Korra in."
"I'm so sorry, Pema." Korra stated. "I tried to save her, but Unalaq tricked me."
"Don't worry, honey." Tenzin rubbed a hand on his daughter's cheek. "I won't stop until our little girl is back with us."
"Neither will I." Sasuke grasped one of Jinora's hands. "Hang in there for me."
Republic City: Police Station, Night…
Mako was in his prison cell, sitting on the bed, when a metal cop bent the door open. "You have visitors."
Bolin and Utakata entered wearing fancy clothing.
"Hey Mako." Bolin greeted.
"How are you doing?" Utakata asked.
"Well, could be worse…" Mako responded bitterly. "Anyways, what's up with the fancy duds?"
"We're on our way to the big finale for 'Nuktuk: Hero of the South'." Bolin declared. "Of course, Kiba and Lee will be there since they're in the mover, and I invited Asami Utakata, Kakashi, Sakura, Neji, and Shikamaru. Everyone will be there, except you…because you're in a jail."
"Thanks for the reminder." Mako said sarcastically.
"Oh, I brought you something." Bolin took out a poster which has an image of Nuktuk carrying Ginger in a wintery background, and Kang, Tak, and Snowy were in the poster's background. "I thought this would help brighten the room. Read the description."
"'Dear Mako, Nuktuk says 'Keep smiling'." Mako then looked at his smiling brother. "Did you come just to give me a poster?"
"Maybe that's why he came, but I'm here to tell you I'll do everything I can to prove Varrick is behind this." Utakata stated firmly.
"Hold the phone!" Bolin exclaimed. "We don't know for sure Varrick's the one behind this."
"He is!" Mako yelled while standing up.
"No offense Mako, but you've been suspecting Varrick the whole time." Bolin retorted. "Now , you're a criminal."
"I'm not a criminal!" Mako yelled.
"Of course I know that, but you kind of look like one." Bolin reasoned. "I mean, you're in jail, and that's where criminals live."
"I was set up!" Mako yelled. "Varrick knew I figured out he was hiring gangsters to pose as Northern soldiers to get Republic City to join the war. That's why he had me arrested."
"Ah, you're going for the insanity defense." Bolin smiled. "Smart."
"Bolin, if you don't stop, I'm throwing you into the water the moment we get to the arena." Utakata warned.
"I'll stop." Bolin immediately agreed.
"Hey, where's Asami?" Mako suddenly asked.
"I'm sorry." Utakata sighed. "I've been trying to make her see this isn't like it, but all she can think of is her locked up family." He shook his head before moving to the door. "I'll try one more time to get her to come, but you shouldn't hold your breath."
Once he was gone, Mako looked to his brother. "Bolin, I know you see Varrick as your friend, but you got to know he's not. I know I haven't been the best brother recently, I'm sorry, but what I've told you is genuinely the truth.
"I appreciate your concern for me Mako, I really do." The Earthbender hugged his brother. "I know our lives have been moving in two different directions, but I'll always be there for you." Mako hugged him back. "We'll work this out.
I'll even help you smooth over your falling out with Sasuke to." He pulled back from his brother. "Now, got to run. You know how impatient Kiba gets, and excited Lee is. That said, I'll be back tomorrow with the best attorney fame and money can buy!"
"Bolin, wait." The Firebender had his brother's attention. "If my theory about Varrick is correct, something might go down at the premiere tonight. Just promise me you'll keep your eyes peeled."
The Earthbender looked at his brother for a good minute before nodding and patting his shoulder. "Alright, you seem serious about this, so I'll keep an eye out."
Bolin then walked back out, and the cop bent the door back into place.
Southern Water Tribe
The rebels were on a nearby mountain, watching the capital city.
"Should we wait another day? Korra might still come with reinforcements."
"We can't wait any longer." Tonraq declared. "It's time to take back what's ours! It's time to take back our city!"
They cheered before sliding down the mountain. Northern soldiers in a watchtower could see them coming, and one of them rang a bell of warning to their fellow troops.
Pro-Bending Arena
A large poster of Nuktuk, Ginger, Kang, Tak, and Snowy hung above the entrance. A crowd of people cheered as limos arrive. There were children getting their picture taken with Pabu, Naga, and Akamaru.
"Say 'Nuktuk'!" The photographer said as he took a picture.
Just then, Bolin, Ginger, Kiba, and Lee stepped out of the limo while Asami, Utakata, Kakashi, Sakura, Shikamaru, and Neji were among the crowd.
"This is idiotic." Neji stated. "We should do something to help Mako."
"All we can do is try to prove he was right about Varrick." Utakata voiced.
"If he is, then we will." Kakashi stated.
"This whole thing is a complete drag." Shikamaru sighed. "I knew coming to the other side of the world would be a huge mistake."
"There they are folks." Shiro announced. "The sweethearts of the big screen, and Republic City's most famous couple, Bolin and Ginger. With them are the sidekicks of Nuktuk, Kiba Inuzuka and Rock Lee."
The four entered the arena.
"Wow, that was fun!" Bolin exclaimed. "Did you hear what Shiro said? We're Republic City's most famous couple."
"Bolin, you're a doll, but you're as dumb as the rocks you bend." Ginger walked off. "We are NOT a couple."
"That's not what Shiro said." Bolin called out.
"Man, give it a rest." Kiba stated, mildly annoyed.
"We must hurry for the premiere." Lee declared. "I wish to see every scene of our mover."
Outside, Gang and Lu were eating Varri-cakes.
"Stop stuffing your mustaches with Varri-cakes and get to your posts!" Lin commanded.
"You got it, chief!" Gang said.
"You two are the pinnacle of refinement." Lin said sarcastically.
Just then, another limo arrived with Raiko and his wife stepping out.
"This star-studded event just keeps getting star-studdier." Shiro announced. "President Raiko and the First Lady, Buttercup Raiko, just arrived, and they're being greeted by entrepreneur extraordinaire, Varrick!"
"There they are." Varrick shook Raiko's hand. "My two honored guests." He kissed the back of Buttercup's hand. "What do you think? No expense has been spared. I brought in the finest entertainers from Ba Sing Se, and the best food from around the world!
Heck, I even had this red carpet imported from the Fire Nation!" They moved down said carpet. "They make the BEST red stuff over there. Fact!" They then posed for pictures. "Alright, picture time."
"Varrick, you didn't have to do all this for us." Raiko said.
"I wanted to." Varrick returned. "Mister President, I took one look after your wife, and I knew that you were a man of exquisite taste. That's why I know you'll love this mover!"
"Varrick, I know what you're doing, but I doubt your propaganda is going to change my mind about going to war with the Northern Water Tribe." Raiko said.
"Oh, I think you'll be surprised how persuasive I can be." Varrick returned.
Later…
Inside the arena, there was a giant screen and speakers. Raiko and his wife sat in a top booth while Bolin, Ginger, Asami, Utakata, Kakashi, Sakura, Neji, Kiba, Lee, and Shikamaru were within VIP booths. Naga, Pabu, and Akamaru were to the right with a waiter who served food.
Varrick was in the arena as a spotlight shined down on him. "Thank you all for coming to the finale of 'Nuktuk: Hero of the South'! You know, when I first started this project, there were a lot of naysayers out there. 'You can't make pictures move' they said.
'You can't take some knuckleheaded Earthbender and make him a star' they said. 'You can't make ninjas from a different country actors' they said. 'You can't teach a polar bear-dog to speak' they said. Well, they're WRONG! Thanks to movers, our furry friends have found their voices.
I know you'll be SHOCKED to hear what they have to say. They speak of the injustice that is happening in the Southern Water Tribe right now. My hope is that their words, and this epic mover, will inspire a real hero to rise and help. Thank you again. Enjoy the show!"
The screen lit up to reveal Nuktuk, Kang, and Tak being carried by birds.
"When last we left our heroes, they were captured by the Evil Unalaq's dastardly pet birds. Amazingly, with the power of his whistling, Nuktuk freed himself and his companions. They then escaped before deciding to seek council."
The three of them knelt before a seal-lion, who made his sounds, before having a fish thrown into his mouth.
"Thank you, wise sage." Nuktuk declared." We will travel to Republic City and seek help."
In Republic City, the trio entered the office of the mover's president who was hard at work with chemicals. "Have a seat. I'm just working on a cure for the common cold. No longer will my citizens suffer from the sniffles."
"Mr. President, there's something more important than the sniffles." Tak declared.
"He's right." Nuktuk stated. "We need your help to stop the Evil Unalaq."
"Did you say 'help'?" The mover president questioned. "If there's one thing I love doing, it's helping people."
"The seal lion seemed a bit far-fetched, but the portrayal of this president is RIGHT on the money." Buttercup whispered to her husband, who smiled uneasily.
"So Sakura, what do you think?" Lee asked.
"It's not that bad." Sakura voiced.
"Still think it's a drag, Shikamaru?" Kiba asked smugly.
"Yes." Shikamaru answered bluntly, making the Inuzuka annoyed.
If Guy were here, he'd be proud of you Lee." Kakashi said.
"Thank you for your words of encouragement, Kakashi Sensei." Lee returned while tearing up.
"I think this is your best mover yet." Asami voiced.
"I just wish Mako was here to see it." Bolin said sadly.
"It's hard to enjoy success when you don't have all the people you care about around for it." Utakata agreed.
As the mover went on, four men in Northern Water Tribe armor pulled up alongside the arena. They went about entering the building. Lu and Gang were within a hallway, still eating Varri-cakes.
Lu was licking one. "I like to eat the top of the Varri-cake first."
"I just try to shove the whole thing in my mouth at once." Gang said, stuffing the Varri-cake in his mouth.
"I love our job." Lu said.
They then turned to see the four soldiers before immediately being hosed. The detectives were bound and gagged before being shoved in a locker. The filling inside a Varri-cake was splattered on the floor and left behind. Back to the screen, Nuktuk, Kang, and Tak were chained as three automatons approached.
"Northerner Water Tribe automatons!" Nuktuk cried.
"No!" Kang cried.
"Beep bow bop. Nuktuk cannot stop Unalaq. Must destroy Nuktuk."
Rotan, with Snowy and Juji atop her, stepped up to defend the trio and growled at the machines, forcing a retreat. Juji then then freed the trio by firing laser beams from his eyes.
Now free, Nuktuk threw water at the automatons causing them to short circuit. "Looks like you forgot water and automatons don't mix."
"Bee bow bop. Oh, no. Circuits not working."
An automaton approached Nuktuk from behind, but Kang came in while delivering multi punches, followed by a strong roundhouse to knock its back. Tak and Snowy then came down from above, delivering a spinning missile attack.
"Hahahaha! We did it!" Nuktuk high fived Kang, Tak, Snowy, and Rotan. "But wait, where's Juji?"
Juji is coughing while a light shined on him.
"Nuk-no!" Rotan exclaimed.
"You can't die, Juji! Not on my watch!" Nuktuk shouted in distress.
"It's okay, Nuktuk." Juji assured. "At least…I got to be…your friend."
He then died.
"Juji!" Nuktuk cried.
Kang knelt and started crying. "No!"
"The Evil Unalaq is going to pay for this!" Tak yelled while pounding his fists.
Bolin got up from his seat and left the booth.
"Is he okay?" Kakashi asked.
"I'll go see." Asami said, getting up and following the Earthbender to a balcony. "Are you okay? It seems like this mover is really getting to you. You do know Juji isn't dead?"
"Of course." Bolin sighed. "He comes back to life when the doomsday device shifts the polarity of the Earth. Oops…spoiler. Sorry."
"Then, what's wrong?" Asami asked.
"I guess I just miss my friends." Bolin stated. "Everything is going so well for me, but it feels empty without everyone. Korra and Sasuke are gone, Mako's in jail, and you're doing business-lady stuff. Team Uchiha Avatar's fallen apart."
"I know." Asami admitted. "Things have changed so much since we first met."
…
They stared out over the water, at Air Temple Island, for a good minute.
"Why don't you come back in and finish watching the mover?" Asami offered.
"You go ahead." Bolin replied. "I need another minute." Asami did just that, but once she was gone, the Earthbender looked down to see a docked speed boat. "That's weird."
Bolin decided to check it out. As he stepped inside, he went down the hall and had a look around before slipping on what looked like a Varri-cake. He managed to retain his balance by stopping in a split before hearing banging from a locker. Opening it revealed the bound Gang and Lu.
Bolin removed the ropes around Gang's mouth, and the detective spoke. "They're after the president!"
Said president was still in his booth, watching the mover with his wife.
"You and your sidekicks are too late, Nuktuk." Evil Unalaq declared. "Soon, my doomsday device will shoot this block of ice into the Earth's core, freezing the entire planet, and I will be ruler of Ice Earth!"
"That won't happen!" Tak declared.
"You will be defeated!" Kang added.
"At least he didn't say 'youth' every time." Neji said, semi-bored.
"Can't you at least be a bit supportive?" Lee asked.
"I am supportive." Neji argued. "That doesn't mean I like it."
Just then, Raiko and his wife were taken from behind by Northern soldiers who began gagging and tying them up. Bolin barged into the booth, knocking the door out of the wall and revealing the president's guard were unconscious.
"I don't think so!" The Earthbender declared.
Buttercup managed to wriggle out of her gag and screamed while the Ginger in the mover screamed. One of the soldiers sent a water blast at Bolin, but he flipped to dodge out of the way before bending out a slab of wall. He flung it at one of the soldiers, sending him to the drink.
"What now?" Shikamaru asked.
"Someone's attacking." Sakura said.
Back at the president's booth, Bolin punched the ground and cracked it with an earth wave which threw the remaining three soldiers against the ceiling. He then threw another punch forward to bend the earth and send them crashing onto the metal bridge to the player's locker room.
Bolin now untied the president and his wife. "Mister President, get back. I'm here to help."
The Earthbender ran to the edge of the booth and jumped down. His suit ripped a little at the arms as he landed, so Bolin ripped the sleeves off. He then rolled his neck before walking towards the soldiers with a determined look.
"Is that Bolin?" Lee asked.
"We got to help." Kiba stated before the two of them jumped down.
"Hey!" Sakura called out, but the two are gone.
Neji, Shikamaru, and Utakata moved to join the two before Kakashi held out an arm to stop them. "I think we should let them have this."
Those four, along with Sakura and Asami, now watched on as Kiba and Lee landed with Bolin.
"You guys are helping?" Bolin asked.
"If there's one thing we do for our friends, it's help." Kiba declared.
"You guys are the best." Bolin smiled as the three of them pressed the soldiers onto the arena. "Looks like there's nowhere to go."
One of the soldiers bent water at the three of them, but they scattered onto zone three of the red side to dodge. Bolin then bent an earth disk while Lee threw shuriken.
"Secure the President and call for backup!" Lin ordered, getting the metal cops to run off.
By this point, Bolin, Lee, and Kiba managed to push the soldiers to blue side's zone three, and the three of them now stood in zone three of the red side. The Earthbender did a fancy spin on his back to bend up three disks. Two soldiers dodged while the last was knocked to zone two.
Lee lept at one of the soldiers while spinning. "Leaf Hurricane!"
His kick connected with the soldier, knocking him back to zone three of the blue side. Kiba was dodging the last soldier, keeping his attention, as Akamaru darted forward and lept into the man's stomach.
He doubled over in pain as the puppy's force was enough to send him reeling back into blue side's zone two. Despite the setback, the soldiers grouped back up and showed off impeccable teamwork with their water blasts.
"Bolin/Nuktuk, look out!" Ginger/Mover Ginger called out.
Bolin, Lee, and Kiba managed to avoid the onslaught and traded sides with the soldiers. Once on the blue side, the Earthbender slammed his fist on the ground to pull up two whole slots of earth disks. Lee and Kiba moved behind him as he bent the disk to defend from the water.
"This is unbelievable!" Shiro announced. "Bolin is bending two full stacks of earth disks at once. Normally, that would be illegal; however, he's fighting three Waterbenders while working with two Non-Benders. Clearly, all rules are out the window.
With the soldiers losing steam, Bolin laid out an impressive barrage of earth disk that pushed the three soldiers back. Lee then lept over Bolin and lunged forward with an impressive burst of speed. It was to the point he slammed a fist into one of the soldiers.
As the man was dazed, he spun in place to deliver a powerful roundhouse kick. "Leaf Whirlwind!"
This soldier was laid out flat on his back while Kiba and Akamaru, to the left and right of the Earthbender, came out from behind Bolin, spinning as one. "Fang over Fang!"
They plowed into the last two soldiers with enough force to send the pair careening into the drink. As one, the victorious trio advanced on the soldier Lee had knocked down. He sat up and backed away a bit, but it was clear he couldn't escape.
"It's over, ya bastard." Kiba declared.
"Tell us who sent you!" Bolin demanded.
"It was Varrick!" The soldier begged. "Please don't hurt me, Nuktuk and friends!"
That news saw the three of them turning to said man and staring at him with utter shock.
"I think this is our cue to exit." Varrick said.
"I don't think so." Utakata declared, appearing within the booth amongst droplets of water.
"Hey Utakata, how are you doing?" Varrick asked.
"Better than you're about to be…" Utakata stopped talking as Lin arrived with her metal cops.
"Hey, can't we talk about this?" Varrick sweat dropped. "How about I make a mover about you?"
"I'm content without it." Utakata returned.
"Worth a shot." Varrick said.
"Well, it seems Mako was right about Varrick after all." Neji said.
Just then, the soldier planed a sneak attack.
"Hey, you three!" Shikamaru called out.
They whirled around with Bolin bending a disk up under the now charging soldier, and he was sent careening into the drink. The audience cheered as Bolin, Lee, and Kiba waved.
"They did it." Sakura let out a breath of relief.
"I never doubted them." Asami added, just as relieved.
Southern Water Tribe
The Northern troops retreated from the streets as the rebels pressed the attack.
"They're falling back!" Tonraq called out.
Suddenly, they were confronted by dark spirits perched along the walls of buildings. Desna an Eska stood atop the roofs of those buildings while Unalaq flew in atop a large dark spirit.
Pro-Bending Arena
Varrick and Zhu Li were being loaded into a police truck.
"Varrick's plan was to kidnap you and blame the North." Lin informed Raiko. "Republic City would then have no choice but to join the war on the side of the South."
"I can't believe Varrick would do something like this, and no one saw it coming." Raiko voiced.
"Actually, someone did." Utakata stated. "Remember Mako?"
Raiko realized it. "You got a great officer on your hands, chief."
"He's one of the best." Lin said.
Utakata glared at her. "As well as the one you arrested."
"Yes, I did." Lin sighed.
At the entrance, reporters were taking pictures of Bolin, Lee, and Kiba.
Ginger rushed to Bolin and kissed him. "I can't believe my boyfriend is a real hero!"
"Boyfriend!?" Kiba and Lee asked shocked.
"Wait, stop." Bolin said. "I thought you said we WEREN'T a couple."
"You really are as dumb as the rocks you bend. Of course we're a couple." Ginger returned before kissing him again.
Asami and Sakura approached them.
"I can't believe you guys saved the president!" Sakura declared.
"Not only that, but you proved Mako was right!" Asami added.
"We got to tell him what happened." Kiba said.
"Yeah." Bolin said while still kissing Ginger, much to their annoyance.
"Ahem!" Asami said.
Bolin stopped. "Oh, you mean right now?"
"Yes, right now." Neji said annoyed.
Just then, Oogi flew down to the arena with Sasuke and Korra jumping off.
"Sasuke!" Sakura cheered.
"Not now, Sakura." Sasuke said coldly, taking her aback.
"You leave us just to come back like we're at square one again." Kiba sighed in annoyance. "Just great."
"President Raiko!" Korra called out.
"Avatar Korra?" Raiko asked. "What's wrong?"
"Sir, I know we've asked for your help before, but things have changed." Korra informed. "Unalaq doesn't just want to take over the South anymore. He wants to destroy world."
That shocked everyone not in the know.
"Unalaq's going to destroy the world?" Sakura asked.
"Has he lost his damn mind?" Kiba asked.
"Does he really have a doomsday device?" Bolin asked.
"No, you idiot!" Sasuke yelled. "He's trying to release a powerful dark spirit during Harmonic Convergence, which is only a few days away."
"If he succeeds, the world as we know it is over." Korra added.
"To think, Unalaq is willing to fall that far for more power." Kakashi stated.
"Sir, we desperately need your help." Korra said.
"I'm sorry, but my answer is still no." Raiko said, shocking everyone.
"Are you kidding me!?" Sasuke shouted. "This city will be destroyed. EVERYTHING in this world will be gone if Unalaq wins!"
"Lives are on the lines!" Tenzin added. "My daughter is one of them! You must reconsider!"
"I'm aware lives are on the line, and that's why my troops are staying here." Raiko retorted. "If this world is going to be thrown into chaos, I need to protect my citizens."
"Sir, Nuktuk needs your help." Bolin tried. "I know you love helping people."
"C'mon, Mister President." Kiba added.
"Look, I appreciate you all for saving my life, and I'm a big fan of your work; however, my decision is final." Raiko stated before walking away.
"Never should've saved that guy." Bolin said.
"He shouldn't even be president." Sasuke voiced.
"If you guys need help, I'm here." Asami stated.
"Me too." Bolin commented.
"This is our world, and I'm not letting Unalaq destroy it." Sakura voiced.
"Akamaru and I are in." Kiba declared while Akamaru barked.
"Count me in." Neji said.
"It is time to finally end Unalaq's unyouthful evil!" Lee exclaimed.
"This will be a drag, but I'm helping too." Shikamaru stated.
"We'll do what we can to stop his madness." Kakashi added.
"You don't even need to ask." Utakata nodded. "I'm in."
"Thank you all." Korra smiled. "It's great to see you again."
Sasuke nodded. "Yeah."
"So, what's your deal Sasuke?" Shikamaru asked.
"Unalaq trapped Jinora's soul in the Spirit World." Sasuke informed.
"Wh-What?" Sakura asked.
"I tried to help, but he tricked me." Korra sighed. "Now, we have to save her too."
"Sasuke, I'm sorry…" Sakura tried.
Sasuke clenched his fists. "When I find Unalaq, he's dead."
"I know he's done too much, but we must focus on the larger picture." Utakata voiced. "We need to stop him and save Jinora."
"Right." Korra looked around. "Where's Mako? Despite how things went down, we still need his help."
Police Headquarters
On the way here, Bolin, Asami, and Utakata explained everything concerning how Varrick set up Mako. Once they arrived, The Earthbender ran into the Firebender's cell.
"So, how was the big premiere?" Mako asked bitterly.
"I saved the president, in real life!" Bolin exclaimed.
"Wait, what?" Mako asked surprised.
"You were right about Varrick." Bolin declared. "He tried to kidnap the president."
Mako stood up happily. "I knew it!"
"In the end, he failed because of you, me, Kiba, and Lee." Bolin continued. "Now, Beifong says you're free to go."
The brothers left the cell and began walking towards the lobby.
"Sorry I doubted you, bro." Bolin said.
"Don't worry about it, bro." Mako said.
"No, I should've listened." Bolin stated. "I was just so caught up in trying to live my own life, but it turns out my life is you, Korra, Asami, and Sasuke. As long as I have my family, I'm a star."
"You're always my star, little brother." Mako said while throwing an arm around him.
They then entered the entrance where they metal cops, Lin, Asami, Utakata, Korra, Sasuke, Kakashi, the other Konoha Shinobi, and Tenzin applauded the Firebender.
"Nice job, Mako." Lin stated. "You'll make a great detective."
"But Chief, there aren't any detective openings right now." Gang said.
"Actually, we have two." Lin stated narrowly at Gang and Lu, who were shocked. "Utakata, how would you like to be detective? You did have a good sense about all this, after all."
"Thanks for the offer, but I'm content where I am." Utakata stated.
"If you change your mind, you know where to find me." Lin said.
Mako spotted Asami, who smiled at him, but he shifted his gaze away from here. This left the heiress feeling rather awkward.
The Firebender then saw Korra and Sasuke. "You two are back?"
"Hey Mako." Sasuke greeted.
"Oh, yeah." Bolin realized. "I forgot to tell you they were back."
"I can't believe it." Mako approached. "I've missed you two."
Sasuke nodded. "Yeah, same here."
"Listen, I'm sorry…" Mako shook his head before turning to the room. "I'm sorry to everyone because the truth is, I haven't been communicating properly with anyone, and that played a big part in letting things get out of hand."
"I think we could say none of us have been good at communicating." Korra admitted before looking to Sasuke. "Even if we've been good at it with our immediate group, we're bound to have failed someone in this room."
Sasuke looked to the Konoha Shinobi, as she said this, which surprised them to varying degrees.
"The fact remains, I think recent events have shown I'm not ready for romantic relationships right now." Mako stated. "Korra, after we broke up, Asami and I were reconnecting; however, more complications arose."
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that Korra." Asami voiced.
"No, I understand." Korra stated. "We did break up, and it's not like you'd have been any worse than me…given what happened before."
"We do not have the time." Sasuke grabbed Bolin. "Get over here." He dragged the Earthbender over before pulling Team Uchiha Avatar into a group huddle. "Clearly, Mako wants us to just be good friends, and I'm all for it. Even if relationship drama is a teenage thing, I'm tired of it.
Besides, most of you are eighteen now. Can we just agree to start fresh and forgive whatever differences there have been between us? Also, let's all agree right now that we work better with you four as friends while you all see me as your surrogate younger brother."
The four older members of Team Uchiha Avatar shared a look before they all gave reassuring smiles.
"Sasuke might be the youngest of us, but he is by far the most mature." Korra stated.
A sense of relief washed over the group at this while those gathered around couldn't help but smile. Kakashi was extremely proud of just how far Sasuke has come.
"Good, we got past that, so let's focus on the bigger issue." Sasuke declared as the team pulled apart. "Unalaq's set to unleash a powerful dark spirit during Harmonic Convergence. If we don't stop him, the world will end. Mako, you in?"
"Of course." Mako nodded with a confident smile. "I'll always be willing to help out."
"Thank you." Korra stated.
"Yeah, Team Uchiha Avatar is officially back!" Bolin cheered before hugging the group.
"Alright, we got the last person we can." Tenzin interrupted. "Now, we must figure out how to deal with Unalaq."
"I think I know the man to talk to." Bolin said.
"You don't mean…" Sasuke began.
The group arrived at Varrick's cell, which was decorated glamorously.
"…Dammit." Sasuke said while eyeing Varrick, who was sitting in a chair.
"Guys!" Varrick greeted. "Hey, what do you think? Varrick Industries built this prison, and I had this cell made special. I had a feeling I'd end up here one day. Zhu Li, we got guests! Whip up a pot of that green tea I love."
"Yes, sir." Zhu Li said while bowing.
"Zhu Li's in prison with you?" Sakura asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course!" Varrick responded. "I don't go anywhere without my assistant, don't you?"
"Even in prison, he gets away with everything." Utakata shook his head.
"I hate him." Sasuke agreed with his current sensei.
"We're not interested in your tea, and this isn't a friendly visit." Mako said bitterly.
"Don't tell me you guys are still mad about everything that happened." Varrick stated. "I did some good things."
"Name them." Neji said.
"Gladly." Varick returned. "Sasuke, who helped confirm your suspicions of Unalaq? I
did. Korra, who warned you about Unalaq? I did. Bolin, who got you into the movers? I did. Kiba and Lee, who gave you jobs as actors? I did.
Asami, who saved your company? I did. Kakashi, who helped you guys with the sting operation? I did. Mako, who got you thrown in jail? I did." He then realized how that last point sounded. "Oh, wait. That was a bad thing."
"You may have warned Korra about Unalaq, but you did it out of your selfish want to start a war." Sasuke voiced.
"You may have saved Asami's company, but you only did it for the money." Utakata continued. "You also might have helped us prepare the sting, but you paid off the Triple Threats to keep us away from Asami's warehouses."
"Not to mention hiring gangsters to pose as Northern troops." Kakashi added. "Let's not forget the Firebenders who attacked the Southern Cultural Center under your orders."
"You also stole everything from Future Industries and tried to kidnap the president." Asami finished.
"Don't say you did good things because you clearly had selfish reasons for them." Sakura spat.
"Look, it's not like I was hurting anyone." Varrick stated. "I just needed to start a war and get it to be big."
"Well, we're stopping it." Shikamaru declared.
"Now, where's the stuff you stole from Asami?" Neji asked.
"The Future Industries' stuff? It's on my battleship." Varrick said.
"You have a battleship?" Korra asked.
"Of course I do!" Varrick exclaimed. "I bought the first one they made! Named her the 'Zhu Li'."
"You named your battleship after your assistant?" Sasuke asked.
"Yep." Varrick nodded. "They're both cold, heartless war machines. Almost like you, kid." The Uchiha growled at that. "It was a compliment!"
"Your tea, sir." Zhu Li said, giving the man a cup.
"Look, I'm truly sorry for the mess I caused." Varrick apologized. "Let me make it up to you. Take Zhu Li." Everyone was confused by which one he meant. "My battleship. It's yours, along with everything on it."
"It's not the fleet we were looking for, but it's the next best thing." Korra said.
"Whatever works, as long as we go to the South." Sasuke agreed.
Republic City: Streets
Everyone was getting ready to head off when Tenzin and Sasuke approached Utakata.
"Utakata Sensei, we need to have a word with you." Sasuke voiced.
"Yeah, of course." Utakata nodded. "What is it?"
"According to what I've heard from Korra, Indra didn't seem to utilize the power of a tailed beast nor had one shown up for that final battle." Sasuke stated. "As such, it's likely your six tails might be our best bet at stopping him…in the event we fail."
"Ah, this is about having me stay back." Utakata realized.
"In the event we fail, there needs to be someone we can trust to do what needs to be done." Sasuke stated. "Raiko has proven he's not that man."
"Additionally, if we fail, I'd trust you with the safety of my family." Tenzin sighed. "More than I can trust Lin at the moment given, by proxy of her job, she must serve under a man like Raiko."
"I'll admit, I don't like this, but I see the logic." Utakata nodded in the affirmative. "I'll stay here to await an indication of your failure." He rested a hand atop Sasuke's head. "That said, I hope no indication comes. Be careful Sasuke and remember that your life is precious to me."
"Right, Utakata Sensei." Sasuke nodded firmly. "Trust me, I think everyone going will give their best to see this through to a positive outcome."
Tenzin rested a hand on Utakata's shoulder. "No matter what happens, I appreciate what you are doing, and I appreciate what you have done in the past."
Ocean: Later…
Tenzin, Kya, Bumi, Korra, Sasuke, Asami, Bolin, Mako, Kakashi, Kiba, Lee, Shikamaru, Neji, and Sakura were on the 'Zhu Li' as it sailed towards the Southern Water Tribe. Korra was standing on the deck when Sasuke joined her.
"We're going to stop Unalaq and get Jinora back." Sasuke declared firmly.
"I just hope my dad's alright." Korra sighed. "It's been a good while since we promised we'd get him all the help he could need."
"I'm sure he's been giving Unalaq hell." Sasuke voiced.
Southern Water Tribe
Tonraq and his men were being pushed back by the dark spirits, even as they tried to fight back. The fact that Desna and Eska were fighting with said spirits only made the current battle harder. Tonraq was hit from behind and knocked down; however, he managed to recover.
The man then got behind a pillar with one of his rebels. "Get the men and fall back!"
"What about you?"
Tonraq saw Unalaq walking down a street with dark spirits and Northern soldiers who were pushing back more of his men. "I'm ending this, right now. Go."
He moved out and bent ice to separate the twins. In their present state, he booked it down the alleyway before leaping off a wall and bent water to blast back two soldiers. Two more attempted to retaliate, but he froze them.
"Hello, Tonraq." The man turned to his brother, who was smirking. "Looking for me?"
Tonraq bent a massive stream at Unalaq, but he stopped it with a shield of ice. From this mist generated by the collision, Unalaq attacked with a massive ice block. It nailed Tonraq and sent him tumbling along the ground before recovering.
"Brother, I'm too strong for you." Unalaq said.
"You're no brother of mine!" Tonraq yelled. "You betrayed me! You had me banished!"
Unalaq smiled wickedly. "Yes, I did." Tonraq charged to attack him, but Desna and Eska stopped him with a block of ice to the side. "Stop. He's mine."
The twins backed off.
"You are not the true chief!" Tonraq exclaimed.
"I am, and you will bow to me." Unalaq declared.
He bent snow under his older brother to slam him against the ice wall. Tonraq bent out a stream of water, but Unalaq caught it. He then used the stream to form ice structures, but Tonraq dodged or countered, drawing closer.
He then took a flying leap, once close enough, and even managed to lay a hand on Unalaq. The chief swatted that away before knocking his older brother off with a pillar of ice. He then destroyed all the ice and turned it to water, which was used to freeze Tonraq.
Unalaq smiled wickedly in victory while Tonraq closed his eyes, ready for whatever attack his brother will use. Said man bent a stream of water at the ice, striking it with such force that the ice shattered, and Tonraq was sent skidding along the ground.
"Now that I have defeated you, your daughter is next." Unalaq informed. "Then, I will finally rid myself of that annoying Uchiha brat."
I want to talk about me leaving Utakata back in Republic City. Just think for a few seconds about arguably the most panned aspect of Legend of Korra and remember that Utakata contains something roughly on that scale. For those of you who can't piece together what I'm talking about, then I got good news. You'll hopefully get what I think is something cool, just give it a good few chapters.

kai229941: One avenue I will not go down is adding in more elements from other sources. This is about Naruto x Legend of Korra. Additionally, nothing changed from before the moment of Sasuke and Naruto's final clash, Tayuya is dead. That said, there is a lot more wiggle room when it comes to Pakura, given her canon death happened far earlier. The difference here is that the Sasuke Retrieval Mission would have seen me mentioning people from halfway across the world if they are around.
When it comes to Pakura, those events happened far enough in the past that is easy to come up with ways in which she survived. After all, my exclusion of Shinobi and Bender interaction until Sasuke went over there, for the most part, does not preclude people from the Elemental Nations coming to Shinobi Country. Perhaps Pakura saw the writing on the wall and happened upon a procession of people from over there.
When your life is on the line, it wouldn't be impossible for her to force an encounter to slip away. That's just one example, so I will certainly think on her inclusion. I mean, Suna's loss of the Scorch Style could just so happen to be the Earth Kingdom's gain. That said, I am growing a rather nice list of people that should still be alive at this point, so we shall see. As for Shadow Bending, it is mentioned in a form of Avatar media, though it is called non canon due to it being under the bonus stories. Still, I suppose one could call that filler.
