Apologies for the short title..apparently there is a word limit but I'm sure you all know which one this is. I decided to post this chapter cause..why not?

"Question: What were you first; A scientist or a warrior?" Kara asked setting her phone down now bored of the item and instead watching Baron work on making more of his attack pods the room silent of conversation for an hour or so. When he didn't answer though she floated closer to him now at his side and crossed her arms, waiting for his answer, "I could wake up the boys and have them annoy you to death til you give me an answer, you know?"

He stood up straight with a groan and glanced at her before sighing, "I was a warrior first, working for the Council of Heads. I heard of a prophecy that would doom us Yokai kind and when I spoke to them about it they refused to listen to me, so I took action and trained myself in the art of alchemy and science." Going back to his work he didn't notice Kara's concerned expression. Hearing of a prophecy that dangerous she began to add up why Baron was so desperate to gather the armor pieces and why he hated humans, but she was human. Did her small act of kindness change something in him, even a small part? She held her head feeling a headache forming and turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" He asked, his eyes following her without stopping what he was doing.
"I'm hungry so I'm getting us some food."

Huginn and Muninn popped out of nowhere.
"Oh! Oh! I want a sub sandwich!"
"Me too!"

"Alright. What about you, Baron?" Kara chuckled softly turning to look at him but when he said nothing she sighed and shrugged her shoulders, leaving, "I guess I'll pick then."

Deciding to walk so she could take her time in ordering she scrolled through the restaurants in the area and found 'Run of the Mill Pizza.' "Huh. Italian sounds nice." Typing in her order of a foot long sub sandwich, the boys can share, spaghetti plate with a side salad for her, and panini sandwich with a side soup for Baron. Confirming her order she made her way to the restaurant while taking her time knowing it should be completed by the time she got there.

Upon entering the restaurant she assumed to be welcomed with a full house and waiters everywhere only to find the place empty except for two groups of well-dressed Yokai holding Hueso, the manager, upside down in a threatening manner. Her brows lowered in anger Hueso being one of the few Yokai to show her kindness and looked around for something to fight with til she heard his cries about not destroying his restaurant. Clenching her fists in annoyance she scanned the area for something less destructive a smile coming to her face when she found an acoustic guitar.

"Five unicorns for whichever waiter shatters bonesy to a hundred pieces." Leader of Makers of Brutality said with a smirk.

"No. Way. There's not enough unicorns in the world." Leo immediately refused, Mikey following suit til Bruno, the Leader of Masters of Barbarianism raised the price, "One hundred unicorns!" in which they quickly changed their minds, "Deal."

Before they could move or change their minds music suddenly filled their ears. Searching for the source they found Kara sitting on the stage, strumming an acoustic guitar, eyes closed and leaning towards the mic while opening her mouth,

"Fly me to the Moon
Let me play among the stars.
Let me see what Spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars.
In other words, hold my hand.
In other words, baby, kiss me."

She walked off stage and towards the group of mobsters, gently setting them back at their seats seeing they were beginning to calm down. Glancing to the turtles she pointed to the kitchen giving them a nod. After getting out of their trance they nodded in return and rushed to the kitchen while she continue to sing,

"Fill my heart with song
And let me sing forever more.
You are all I long for
All I worship
And adore.
In other words, please be true.
In other words, I. Love. You."

When she finished she bowed low, her cheeks glowing hearing their claps and compliments, smiling happily not noticing Leonardo and Michelangelo smiling at her while serving the food. She straightened herself up while thinking of a song and decided to play one of her dad's songs, one from a Lou Jitsu movie.

They ate and watched in awe as she played while dancing around and showing off her wings, hearing their woahs and gasps of awe til it was finally time for the bill.
"Excellent staff, Hueso!" Head Beverly praised, shaking his hand.
"Yes, I've never been given a show like that in all my years." Bruno agreed.
"Those two could use some guidance though." Beverly pointed at Leonardo and Michelangelo before both groups left after leaving he and Kara a hefty tip, he money while she unicorns.

"Oh my gosh, who are you and why are you so adorable?" She sat at the stage gawking at these tiny creatures, "I can't wait to take care of you." She fell over with a giggle as they climbed over her, giving her kisses til Hueso and the guys walked up to her.

"Gracias, my dear, you not only saved my restaurant but my reputation as well! How can I ever repay you?" He helped her to her feet, giving her hand a kiss.

"Well, I actually placed an order not that long ago. Guess your website wasn't updated about that meeting."

"I shall personally cook it myself. Wait here." Hueso walked off to do so, she moving to sit down at a table with a sigh, playing with her unicorns.

Spotting the guys standing there awkwardly she let out of a huff through her nose and offered the seats in front of her, "Costumed robots, ninjas, old ladies, and now waiters? What can't you guys do?"
"Well, some of us can't be number one of all time." Mikey smirked at Leo who shoved him out of the way, "Get over it already. A-Anyways..what were you doing here?" Leo asked, poking the unicorns.

"As I said, I just came here for a pickup; didn't think it would turn out like this." One of her unicorns fell over so she began rubbing its tummy, smiling at the tiny noise it was making and blinked when Leonardo's hand was over hers. She looked up seeing a soft expression on his face that made her blush.

"Speaking of you never told us you could sing too. If we knew we would have recruited you for our band!" Michelangelo stood while slamming his hands on the table, stars in his eyes.

"Wait, wait, you guys were in a band?" She pointed at the two dumbfoundedly.

"Why, yes, we were, even had a gig at the Albearto theme park not that long ago. And we totally nailed it, if I do say so myself." Leonardo smirked while leaning backwards.

"Oh yeah? What parts did you guys play?" She placed the unicorn on top of her head letting it rest.

"I played the guitar. Natural talent, I know."
"And I was the rapper!" Michelangelo chimed in happily.

"Well, it's not as if I never heard those two genres combi-"
"-Raph sang the blues." Michelangelo continued.
"Oh, you're still going." Kara muttered.
"And Donnie was the DJ." He finally finished sighing as he reminisced.

"That sounds...very unique." She rubbed at the back of her head wondering how they could make so many genres combined into one sound good but she wasn't there so she shouldn't judge, they've done miracles before.

"Here you are, my dear, it's on the house." Hueso handed her two bags, she standing to take them, "Oh, thanks, Hueso, it's unnecessary, but thanks."

"I'm sorry we got caught up in the competition." Leonardo apologized while Michelangelo rubbed the back of his head.

"It was not your fault, it was mine for calling you when I should of called her instead. But you were true friends and did what I asked; you brought no harm to my-" Despite there being no damage done by them his restaurant was now infested with tiny unicorns that were chewing on the furniture, dangling from the chandelier, even one going as far as kicking a plate off the table.

By this time Kara was already gone.

"Race ya back home. Winner is all time champ of tomorrow, baby!" Mikey shouted, getting a head start, Leo following after, protesting.

"I must lose their numbers.." Hueso sighed, his expression dropping.

Weeks went by and it was time for the Foot's initiation ceremony where Kara and Baron were forced to watch but she wasn't having that so instead they put her to work in the shop stocking the shoes. "They better be paying me.." Her shoulders tensed when she heard an explosion underground and dropped the shoes running to their hidden lair with her weapon out, "Baron, are you ok?"

"I know you think the irrational outbursts will get you on our good side but there is still a process."

"Wait, what's going on?" She questioned.
"Oh, Master is rank zero on the foot list while we're tenderfoots which ranks him at the very bottom."
She let out a laugh while lowering her weapon, "Are you serious? So, he was throwing a tantrum. Well, at least it got me away from doing their menial work." She put away her weapon and blinked when she felt a sudden, cold chill run down her spine. She lifted her head towards the alter where the armor stood and stared at it for the longest time feeling her heartbeat quicken. Taking a step towards it her path was blocked by the Buff Foot glaring down at her, "Despite my objections, due to your current record of successful missions you have been nominated to join the foot henchmen rank two. Do you accept?" He moved aside to the paint man that had his foot held up, smiling at her to join them.
Staring up at him with a neutral expression she turned her back to him, standing beside Baron, "My loyalty is to my Master Baron only. I don't take orders from you guys plus the foot mark is dumb looking." She muttered the last part while crossing her arms and looking away from them.
Baron stared down at her in surprise but smirked, his eyes trailing to their jealous faces, "Excellently put, my apprentice." He placed his hand on her shoulder knowing it was he who had to follow their rules, "So, what do I do to reach rank two?"

Reaching a coffee shop, Kara in her human form, she was behind him and the loud recruit trying to hold in her laughter. "I can't believe they turned The Great Baron Draxum into an errand boy.." She immediately held up her phone taking a picture of him standing in line looking annoyed.

"What is this place? Are we here to lay waste to these pathetic humans?" He held up his hand dramatically ready to take action.
"No. We are here to get coffee for the entire foot clan-and a vegan coconut scone for the boss."
"Draxum is no errand boy."
"I beg to differ from this angle." Kara muttered, snickering when he gave her a look.

"To become a full member of the foot one must show commitment and patience. I have been IN TRAINING SINCE I WAS SEVEN!" She kicked a guy's order out of his hand, the tray and contents dropping to the ground before punching her arms out to show her enthusiasm.

"MADNESS!"

"Yeah, that doesn't seem right. It seems to me like they're just using you at this point." Kara looked at her with a hint of pity.

"What do you mean?"

Before she could answer Baron pulled out one of his pods, "Baron Draxum takes what he needs now!" that transformed into a hulking creature that scared the people off, collecting their bounty for them, it handing Kara a mocha frappe with extra whipped cream, "Aww, thank you." She smiled while taking it, it letting her sit on its shoulder as it gathered the rest of the cups that the recruit couldn't hold, "I have been doing this all wrong!" She screamed with excitement, stars in her eyes.
"There is one good thing about being Team Baron." Kara grinned while sipping her sugary coffee.

"Indeed," Baron took a sip of his hot cup of joe, "Waiting is for fools." They returned to the now closed Foot Shack with their mission a success, handing out the cups.

"I have completed your menial task now when do I get the dark armor?"

"Ooh, I'm glad you asked. We've got a retrieval mission tonight and thanks to your excellent performance, other than these scones which are a little stale-" Foot Lieutenant tossed the scone away while Buff Foot jumped into the light, posing, "-We're putting you on Strike Squad Special Force Delta!"
"I was born for Strike Squad Special Force Delta! I shall cleave our foes in twain!" Recruit declared.

Kara stayed silent, squinting her eyes suspiciously, "Multiple names usually means it either doesn't exist or it's just a title for something miniscule or unimportant; either way it sounds like a scam to me."

"Ok, love the enthusiasm, actually your assignment is-"

"Look out support duty?! We're lookouts for the lookouts?!" Recruit yelled in frustration all three of them standing on top of a greenhouse, their next location being the museum of Science and Nature.

"Huh. This is where Donatello and I had our.." Kara looked away, blushing, but had a small smile on her face at the memory.

"This is beneath us all.." Baron muttered under his breath.

"You know, I was accepted to EVERY clan I applied to." Recruit sat down, hugging her knees.

"Why not leave then? Join us?" Kara moved in front of her, in her mutant form, and shrugged her shoulders, "It'll be nice to have another girl around, despite your excited personality, plus we'll actually be doing some good for our people. We'll be using the dark armor to help the Yokai forced to live underground and bring them to the surface. No more hiding. We can live in peace." She and the recruit looked up when Baron began to speak,

"With my powers I should be in charge of this clan! Surely there must be some way to take control from them."

"Ha! Unlikely. According to our laws, one can only take control of the Foot Clan by succeeding where the leaders have failed. And my Sensei's do not fail."

Kara stared at her with a dumbfounded look, "Are. You. Serious?! I succeeded in the last mission while you and your buff friend got your butts kicked and they only wanted to promote me to rank two?! I could have been in charge! They are definitely scammers!" Her floof began to poof out due to her frustration, her wings vibrating til Baron placed his hand on top of her head, "We shall see." She looked up at him and sighed to calm herself down, he must be plotting.

She closed her eyes to listen to the Foot Leader explain the next piece was located inside one of the statues and to search, her ears perking up when they began to talk to themselves.
"I guess Draxum might get his wish soon, IF he can prove his worth." They both looked at each other and began to laugh.
Kara opened her eyes not liking their conversation; something was definitely wrong but before she could say anything Baron spoke, "What's going on there?" He and the recruit held up their binoculars while Kara adjusted her eyes to see the turtles walking through the inside garden seeming to be searching for something, "Do you think they know it's here as well?" Kara calmly asked.

"Hai. I will alert the lookouts." Recruit began to loudly caw like a bird while flapping her arms making Kara not only cringe but Baron stops her with his vines, "Stop that! If we want to improve our rank we must handle this ourselves." All of them made their way into the garden section.

"Just a few more days and you'll be released. Are you excited, Lanny?" Leafe was walking through inside garden placing Lanny on her shoulder only to blink when she flew off instead, "Wait! I still need to look after you!" She raced off after her only to skid to a halt when she came across turtle yokai each with a different color and size, the orange one flailing and screaming with Lanny right in his face when she noticed something, "Wait a minute...Donatello?" She stepped out into view making them all freeze in place, Lanny mid wing flap, and look at her.

"L-Leafe? Wha-what are you doing here so late?" Donnie stepped forward looking between her and his brothers nervously.

"Lanny here was just doing her exercises for the evening; she is due to be released soon." She walked towards the orange one, cupping Lanny in her hands, "So, I was correct when I saw you, you're a yokai too." She placed Lanny on her shoulder, smiling wide.

"Wait, too?" All of them gathered around Donnie when Leafe reached up to her ear tapping her earring to reveal a slender, brown spider, standing three feet over the turtles, her four hazel eyes blinking happily at them only to scream when they started screaming at her, holding their weapons out, "Ahhhh! What's going on?!" She covers her face with her arms til Lanny flew at them, smacking into each of their faces. "It's ok! It's ok! I'm not gonna eat you, I'm a vegetarian!" She tried to calm them down thinking that was the reason they were scared but they were in a daze at the moth attack. She quickly changed back and held up her hands, "A-are we ok?" She began to take a step back in fear.

"Sorry, sorry, we just haven't had the best of luck with spiders." Donnie placed his hand over his head, "So, you're a yokai?"

She nodded tapping her earrings again to let them get a good look at her, "I-I'm sorry I scared you guys, I was just excited to see other Yokai on the surface, it gets kinda lonely up here." She rubbed her hands together while Lanny flew to her shoulder but began to relax when they introduced themselves, her eyes sparkling at their names, "No. Way. You're named after the Renaissance Masters? Amazing!" She threw her hands up excitedly, startling Lanny to the point of quietly apologizing to her, trying to get her to calm down, "A-Anyways, what are you guys doing here? The museum is closed." She tapped her earring again changing back.

"We're looking for the smelliest plant alive. We heard it was here." Mikey said he, Leo, and Raph plugging their noses up while Donnie puts on a hazmat mask.

"Oh, you mean Jewel? I can show you to her." She took Donnie's hand and lead him and his brothers towards the plant all the while telling them different facts about it. "It's just up ahead." She said once they were able to catch a small whiff of its toxic odor. Raph, Leo, and Mikey ran off excitedly and when Donnie went to follow he was stopped when Leafe didn't let go of his hand, "Can I ask you something? Have you seen Kara around? I need to get a message to her."

"That. Might...be difficult. We're...it's complicated." He said with a sigh, looking away from her.

Leafe's brows raised worriedly but didn't question further, "If you get in contact with her have her message me, please, a friend is waiting for her call." She brought out her phone to exchange numbers. Once done they look up hearing the boys beginning to chant so Donnie rushed off to join his family while Leafe went the opposite way hoping to take a nap before her shift ended.

As the three were getting closer, hearing their voices ahead, Kara froze suddenly then began to gag and wretch, covering her nose and mouth, "Urgh. Oh my gosh, what is that smell?! It's disgusting! I-I can't-" Her cheeks puffed, feeling something coming up her throat and flew away til she could no longer smell that horrid stench, puking her lunch behind some bushes before taking in a sharp breath of fresh air. Standing up straight while sighing she noticed Baron beside her watching the Foot in search for the next piece.
"So, our Senseis never fail, eh?" He said to himself with a smirk, "We'll see about that." He looked to his side and pulled the fire alarm.
Kara began to cringe, gripping her ears at the shrieking sound when Baron pulled her close to him, using his body to cover her ears.

Leafe's eyes opened at the sound and she jumped up immediately thinking something had gone wrong with Donatello and his brothers and ran to find them running away from a bald-shaven female covered in clumps of goo chasing after Raphael and let out a gasp when she saw Jewel sliced in two, "What happened? What did you guys do?" She ran to the plant but stopped when she smelt its toxins, shivering at how gross it was. "Oh, geez, I hope Harold and his crew aren't too upset." She nibbled on her fingernail nervously.

"Whose Harold?" Donnie asked.

"He's the main groundskeeper. He takes his job very seriously. He's actually not that bad, I've had lunch with them from time to time..which is probably why the other employees tend to stay away from me.." She sighed heavily while slumping her shoulders until she let out a yell when a ninja cosplayer was thrown through the glass, "What is going on?" She poked her head out the window to see Tedd driving past them on the lawn mower with two more ninja cosplayers on top of the engine.

"Uh, yeah, guys, I think that's the fight we should be focused on." Raph moved next to Leafe, pointing out the window. "Leafe, it's best you stay hidden. These crooks are dangerous."
She nodded and watched them leave, the shaven female behind, and went to follow til Harold slid in front of the Corpse Flower onto his knees and held it lovingly like a child, crying in despair. When he finally saw her he lifted the plant in his arms, running to her, "Evelyn, you must save Jewel! She is still so young!"
Leafe looked away trying not to barf while nodding, "Of course. T-Ta-urgh-ake her to my lab. I'll be right behind you, there are some things I need to gather." She went in the direction the turtles went while Harold went the opposite way.

Kara was sitting next to the man-made pond calming herself down after the earache as well as watching the boys relax when the turtles and the recruit jumped past them, making all three of them blink, "Were those the turtles? Should we alert the foot?"
"Why? I mean, they'll see them in a sec."
"I love the way you think. We'll be rank three in no time."

Kara rolled her eyes with a groan before standing up and stretching her arms, "Duty calls, I guess." She fluttered away hearing them giggle to themselves at the word, 'duty' making her shake her head with a smile. She made it in time to see Baron grab the recruit so she followed them.
"Trust me. Our rank is about to skyrocket."

They watched from afar as the turtles and foot battled each other, the turtles seeming to be winning. Her eyes were wide in awe noticing they had gotten stronger, a smile growing on her face til her eyes flickered when she saw they had found the next piece, "There, Master." She pointed making Baron smirk, his plan going accordingly til they heard a voice off to the side seeing the main groundskeeper carrying a ripped plant in his arms, " You're gonna make it, Jewel. Stay with me. Stay with meeee!" He cried as he ran.
"Oh, she'll stay with you alright." Baron chuckled while releasing a small group of oozquitos, Kara moving her wing around the recruit as they flew off, making sure they didn't go near her.

Watching the man mutate made her body feel cold, frozen in place as her mind replays her own mutation; the sound of her bones snapping and deforming, her cries being drowned out by the liquid, and the pain of her skin tearing and ripping open. Her breathing became heavy til the smell of his attacks brought her back to the point of vomiting in place. "Oh. No. I am NOT dealing with this." She opened a portal to the lab and jumped through searching for a mask and when finding one similar to Donatello's she stuffed a decorative car scent inside it and put it on. Sighing in relief she went back to Baron's side and gave him a thumbs up before going back to the battle at hand. Figuring it was time to end his full-on reign of stinky terror she flew around him as a distraction before spreading her wings out and releasing her sleep powder, flapping her wings so he would take it all in, he slowly falling to the ground dreaming of plants. She flew next to Baron and bowed while holding her arms out, "After you, Master."

He and the recruit were taken to the next piece on his vines past the fallen foot, turtles, and museum staff, she fluttering beside them. When they were right in front of it Baron looked to the recruit, "Would you like to do the honors?"
"Yeah, you deserve it." Kara moved her other side, placing her hand on her shoulder while smiling behind the mask.
The recruit looked to both of them in surprise before reaching her hand out and grabbing it, shouting, "Kah-lay-mah!"

In the hidden hideout the foot clan bowed one by one, the Lieutenant and Buff being slammed to the ground by Baron's vines.
"So, Draxum, we-uh-we have some good news about your potential in this organization."
"Yeah, really good news." Buff Foot added in, both of them smiling nervously til Baron slapped them across the face with a vine, "Silence! I have accomplished with two assistance what you couldn't accomplish with an entire clan!" Baron, Kara, and recruit stood above them, the shadows looming over their figures making their eyes glow, Kara having her wings spread out with both set of arms crossed over each other.
"Assistant? But I thought we..were partners.."
Baron immediately silenced her, placing his finger to her mask before continuing with what he was saying, Kara placed her hand on her shoulder, having her take a step back, "Don't take it too personally, I'm still just a lackey in his eyes. He's too prideful to have an actual partner." She watched the foot soldiers cheer for their new leader, her eyes lowering wondering if that's all she was good for. Thinking they were done after he announced the next meetup day she turned to leave only to stop when the boys objected to the day, talking about how it was a holiday. She face-palmed herself before retreating through a portal to their home.

Deep in the Hidden City Leafe walked through a waterfall where a cabin surrounded by plants and flowers of all species as well as insects resided, dropping her things on a cushiony cot she called her bed before entering the cabin that was just two room, one looking like a kitchen and completely frozen, coated in icicles where a dragon lay in the center. When Leafe stepped through, hugging herself from the cold the dragon woke up, its icy blue eye staring up at her before standing up and changing into a dragon lady, "Welcome home, Leafe." She spoke with a Russian accent.
"H-Hey, Brilliance, I got some good news...as well as bad." She rubbed her arm when Brilliance moved around her, making a fire for her, "Apologies, I was napping while you were at work. Now, what news do you have?" She moved to the make her some tea.

"Well..y-you see..the good news is-is that I found Kara.."
"Oh? That is good news. She'd be very happy to hear that." She smiled to herself while turning the stove on and gathering two cups for them.
"Y-Yeah but the thing is...which happens to be the bad news is that..she's...working..with..barondraxum." With each word her voice shrunk til she hid her face in her hands, flinching when she heard the sound of shattering glass.
"She WHAT?!" She turned around her eyes glowing but stopped when she saw her trembling companion and let out an icy sigh to calm herself, "This has made things difficult. Come." She helped Leafe to her feet while walking to the back of the cabin where a sword was displayed stabbed through a stone surrounded by glowing flowers. Brilliance ushered her towards the sword and when she was in front of it, reached her hands out grasping at the handle while closing her eyes.

"Ye are right. This is indeed troublesome."
