Wolfie: I still do not own Yu-Gi-Oh and I only own Yuki. Sorry this is so short, I just wanted to get the rest of episode 1 out of the way and didn't expect it to be a three part chapter, thank you for sticking with me and reading all three parts though as it had just sort of happened. Also updates depend on when I have time to re-watch the episode or episodes they are based on. Now please read and review.

Chapter 3: Heart of the cards part 3

Kaiba: 1,300 Yuki: 900

"Ha. Your Fierce Knight is destroyed. Faith or no faith, you will fall before my superior monsters, Yuki. Power is what this game is all about, you fool. Faith is for losers, like your pathetic grandfather. In your entire deck there is not a single monster that can stand up to a Blue Eyes White Dragon, so what hope do you have against two?" Seto said to Yami Yuki, who was gritting her teeth and sweating slightly under the pressure since two of her face down defense monster's had been destroyed yet again, and held up his second Blue Eyes card before putting it into play as a dragon identical to the first one appears on the field. "Why don't you just admit defeat, Yuki?" Seto asked, once again being overconfident with himself and his ability to win this duel.

"Damn it, you had Blue Eyes White Dragon cards all along! If that's true then why'd you want my Grandpa's card?" Yami Yuki asked as she glared at Seto, wanting to know his answer.

"Simple, why have these powerful dragon's when there was one still out in the world to be used against me?" Seto asked, answering Yami Yuki's question with a question of his own.

"Just one?... That means you have the other three!" Yami Yuki said in realization at what Seto meant by just one left to be used against him.

"Yes, and when I defeat you I will have all four Blue Eyes White Dragons to do with as I please." Seto said, revealing his plan as to what will happen once the duel is over.

'That's what you think, asshole.' Yami Yuki thought as she looked at the two menacing dragon's infront of her.

Meanwhile at the hospital Tea and Tristan were helping the doctor rush the hospital bed that Solomon was on down the hall. Yugi was being carried piggy back style by Tristan to make sure that the short 8 year old could keep up with the pace that they were running at. The two teens and youngest Muto were extremely worried about the older male because he was sweating up a storm and his breathing was ragged and much so that the medic's put an oxygen mask on the old man as soon as he was in the also seemed to be unconscious as he laid there on the bed so everyone was mostly focused on where they were going. Which meant no body notice that he told Yuki not to give up as his voice was barely above a whisper.

It seemed strained out as well as he wanted his granddaughter to keep believing in herself. Back at the duel Yami Yuki seemed like she heard her grandpa's instruction to not give up as she continued to stare at the two Blue Eyes White Dragons infront of her. The two dragons seemed ready to destroy every monster that she may put down on the field in defense mode. Probably until she finds a monster stronger than them just as Saggi The Dark Clown did a few turns ago.

"I won't give up, Grandpa's counting on me." Yami Yuki said as she drew a card from her deck and then gasped slightly when she saw it before grinning, it was just the break she needed. "A magic card. Swords of Revealing Light! It stops all monster's on the field for three turns." Yami Yuki said as she put the card into play, swords made of pure light dropping down around the dragons making them trapped and completely immobile.

"How desperate. What possible good will a three turn delay do you?" Seto asked because to him this duel was already won and Yami Yuki was just delaying the inevitable.

'God I hate to admit it, but he might be right. What could I do to turn this around? And I still can't figure what to do with these cards, they're all just a bunch of... pieces. How can I use them to battle an expert like Kaiba and his dragons?' Yami Yuki thought to herself as she looked at the cards which were just two legs and one arm before closing her eyes and gritting her teeth in frustration.

"For someone claiming to have faith, you are giving up to easily Yuki. Listen, sometimes the cards are like a puzzle. You have to put all of the different pieces in their proper place." A vision of Solomon said as he appeared behind Yami Yuki in her mind which caused said girl to turn around in shock at suddenly hearing her grandpa's voice.

"Ah, like the Millennium Puzzle?" Yami Yuki asked as she looked down at said item for a moment as they were now standing in a dark void.

"Exactly. Each piece helps build a greater entity." Solomon said as the vision of him soon faded away.

"Wait, Grandpa please don't go!" Yami Yuki said as she reached out towards the fading away vision of her grandpa, not wanting him to go away when she needed his wisdom so much right now.

"Like the pieces of a puzzle, Yuki, remember?" Solomon asked as his voice soon faded away as well.

'Puzzle?! Fuck, when are the cards like a puzzle? Wait, Grandpa once said-' Yami Yugi thought to herself as her train of thought was interrupted by a flashback.

Flash back beginning

Yuki was standing leaned against the glass counter of the shop after school one day after picking up her little brother. Back when she had no friends and the Millennium Puzzle was still incomplete, as she listened to her grandpa talk about rare events that have happened in Duel Monster's. This fascinated the 15 year old to no end as she hung onto every word the older male said, a sparkle of amazement in her heterochromic eyes. She leaned her chin against her fist as she wished moment's like this didn't have to end. Today's story was about a set of cards that were so rare that it was even rare for someone to have a complete set of them in their deck. He also said that it was even more rare for the monster to be played in a duel because of this. As usual Yuki had so many question's in response to the stories but she kept them to herself because she never wanted to interrupt her grandpa. Including but not limited to when he was telling her a story for fear that he may not finish the story due to her being rude and interrupting it.

"Duel Monsters contains only one unstoppable monster- Exodia, but he can only be summoned by drawing all five special cards- a feat that to this very day, no one has ever accomplished." Solomon said as he crossed his arms behind his back and glanced up at the ceiling of the shop.

Flash back ending

"Quit your stalling Yuki, or you will forfeit the match." Seto said in frustration at the fact that Yami Yuki was staring off into space.

"Shut up Kaiba because I never forfeit." Yami Yuki said as she drew another card and then gasped slightly when she saw what it was. 'Yes! Another piece of the puzzle.' Yami Yuki thought to herself as she saw that it was the second Exodia arm.

"Draw any card you like. It won't change a thing. My dragons may be frozen for another two turns, but my new monster is under no such spell- The Judge Man with an attack power of 2,200." Seto said as he placed the card down on the field as a goblin looking monster man with an under bite appears and smashed one of his maces against the spot that held Yami Yuki's face down defense monster as it appeared for a moment before it was destroyed.

'Sweet, the Dark Magician! I can attack with him, but he won't stand a chance against those two dragons once my spell card dissipates in one more turn..' Yami Yuki thought to herself as she looked at the card that contained the picture of a purple haired magician in all purple with a green scepter in his right hand, making up her mind as she played the card. "Dark Magician, attack!" Yami Yuki said as the magician appeared on her field and thrusted his hand out towards The Judge Man, destroying the other monster with a magic attack that seemed invisible as The Judge Man was shattered into a million pieces by the attack as 300 points were deducted from Seto's life points.

Kaiba: 1,000 Yuki: 900

"Your Judge Man falls Kaiba." Yami Yuki said as she waits for Seto's next move, knowing she only needs one more piece to call upon Exodia.

"Oh, a sacrifice that doesn't even phase me. And though neither dragon can move for one more turn, my next card is the third Blue Eyes White Dragon!" Seto said as he put the card into play, a third dragon identical to the two that were trapped appears on the field and towers over Yami Yuki's Dark Magician as Yami Yuki was still surprised despite knowing her opponent had three Blue Eyes cards. "Now my dragon, attack!" Seto said as the dragon rears up it's head as its attack bursts from its mouth, destroying Dark Magician in a bright white light as 500 points are deducted from Yami Yuki's life points.

'Shit! I knew he had three out of the four Blue Eyes White Dragons, but I didn't think he'd actually summon all three of them. God if I don't get a monster stronger than them on the field before my last turn ends I am so screwed...' Yami Yuki thought as she watched her life points get even lower now that the bright light from the dragons attack has died down.

Kaiba: 1,000 Yuki: 400

"So tell me Yuki, how's your faith now? On my next turn, all three Blue Eyes White Dragons are free to attack. This game's over, no matter what card you draw. You can't possibly stand against my three Blue Eyes White Dragons. It's over Yuki, you were never a match for me." Seto said as he was so close to grinning ear to ear like the Cheshire Cat as he still thinks he has this game won.

"Don't listen, Yuki." Joey said as he leaned over the wall of the dueling arena slightly with his fist raised yet again.

'I still can't believe Kaiba already had three Blue Eyes White Dragon cards, if Grandpa hadn't given me his Blue Eyes card who know's what that bastard would have done to make sure it is never used against him. My only chance at winning this now is to assemble all the pieces of Exodia but the odds are against me on this one. I don't think I can do this...' Yami Yuki thought to herself as she slowly reached out towards her deck to hopefully draw the last piece of Exodia.

Though much to her shock the deck begins to move away from Yami Yuki's hand as she was once again in that dark void. The one from when she was talking to the vision of her grandpa, this caused her eyes to widen in shock. The deck continued to move away from her no matter how much she moved her hand closer in order to try and grab it. A part of her knew that this may just be her imagination but she was to scared to even realize that. If the deck continues to move away from her then she may never be able to see if she can draw the final piece of Exodia. That can't happen, she cannot under any circumstances let that happen not when the reason behind this duel had jeopardized her grandpas health.

She needs to win this duel for her grandpa not only so she can finish what he started when it comes to teaching Seto a lesson about the heart of the cards. She also needed to win this duel so she can keep the last Blue Eyes card safe and out of the wrong hands. She would never forgive herself if she not only went back on her promises but also if something bad happened to that card. In fact she'd feel bad if anything happened to any of the cards in her grandpa's deck because he worked hard to obtain all of these cards. So she would be a horrible granddaughter if she let anything happen to these cards whilst she has them in her possession. That's why she has to win this duel so she can safely return all of these cards to her grandpa when this duel is over.

"Ahh! The deck- it sense my doubt." Yami Yugi said as she continues to reach out towards the deck, a see through version of Yuki separating from Yami Yuki slightly as she reaches out towards the deck as well. "Don't lose focus, Yuki. Don't lose faith. Concentrate." Yami Yuki said before the see through version of Yuki merged with her once again.

'Huh? Our friendship symbol.' Yami Yuki thought as she noticed her part of the smiley face on the back of her right hand as the hands of her friends that contained the rest of the symbol were suddenly holding the deck still for her.

"Yuki, we're right here with you." The vision of Tea said as she glanced up from the deck to look at Yami Yuki alongside the vision of Joey and Tristan.

"Yuki, you've got to believe in yourself." The vision of Tristan said, hoping to give Yami Yuki some encouragement to finish the duel.

"You can do it. Just kick Kaiba's ass." The vision of Joey said as he already knew that Yami Yuki could do this right from the start.

"They're right. I've got to believe in the cards like my friends believe in me." Yami Yuki said with a smile as the dark void fades away as she was back to reality.

"Draw your last pathetic card so I can end this, Yuki." Seto said with a grin as he was ready for Yami Yuki to end her turn so all three of his dragons could attack.

"My Grandpa's deck has no pathetic cards Kaiba. But it does contain... The unstoppable Exodia." Yami Yuki said with a smirk as she held up the head of Exodia, the last piece that she needed.

"Ahh! Impossible!" Seto said as his eyes widened in shock at the fact that Yami Yuki actually had Exodia in her deck.

"I've assembled all five special cards. All five pieces of the puzzle." Yami Yuki said as she placed all of the cards in the correct order on the field as a black hole forms infront of the dragons which lets a cyan colored pentagram come out of it, and starting with the hands followed by his head, legs, and torso the completed Exodia emerges from the pentagram as he towers over the Blue Eyes White Dragons.

"Exodia- it's not possible! No one's ever been able to call him." Seto said as he stumbled back slightly in shock, staring unblinkingly at Exodia.

"Yes no one has ever been able to call upon him in a duel, until today Kaiba. Now, Exodia. Obliterate!" Yami Yuki said as Exodia charges up his golden blast between his hands, heeding the command of the girl who summoned him as he drew his left hand back as it contained the now charged up blast and thrusted it forward, sending the blast towards the three dragons as they are destroyed within a bright golden light as Seto's life points were depleted as they went down to 0 whilst said male screams.

Kaiba: 0 Yuki: 400

"You did it! Yuki, you won!" Joey said with both of his clenched fists raised to about chest level as he smiles whilst looking up at his best friend.

"This can't be! My brother never loses!" Mokuba said as he looked up at his older brother, shocked that he had actually lost a duel.

"You play only for power Kaiba, and that is why you lost, but if you actually put your heart into the game and realize that it's not just about winning then there is nothing you can't do." Yami Yuki said since she decided to be a good sport by giving Seto some friendly advice.

"But- but how? How could I have lost to her?!" Seto asked himself as he was now hunched over his dueling dashboard, staring down at his cards with gritted teeth.

"Kaiba, if you truly want to know." Yami Yuki said as the golden eye of Anubis appeared on her forehead as her eyes narrowed slightly. "Then open your mind!" Yami Yuki said as she thrusted her right hand out towards Seto as an invisible magic blast hits him, destroying all of the evil that was inside of him.

"Unh." Seto breathed out as he slumped to his knees on his dueling platform, though to Joey and Mokuba it looked like he was fine and that he just slumped to his knees in defeat.

"There Kaiba. Maybe now you will begin to see." Yami Yuki said as she lowered her arm, the eye of Anubis disappearing from her forehead as she collected her deck and put it away as she was lowered down to the ground by the platform.

Meanwhile as a now back to normal Yuki leaves Kaiba Corp with a grinning Joey in a hospital room Tristan, Yugi, and Tea where waiting for Solomon to awaken. Tea at his bedside, with Tristan just staring off into space, and with Yugi playing with a Rubik's cube he had in his school bag. They waited for any sign that the old man would wake up and was no longer in need of staying at the hospital. They finally got their sign as the older Muto gasped slightly from underneath his oxygen mask as as he opened his eyes. Effectively drawing the teenage girl's attention to him as she also drew both of her male companions' attention to this as well by saying that the older male was awake now. This caused Tristan to stop zoning out and Yugi to look up from his toy as they glanced over in the direction of Tea and Solomon.

The brunette male going to go give Joey and Yuki a call when he saw that the older male was infact awake now. It was also quite clear that the older male seemed to already know that his granddaughter won her duel against Seto. Said girl was so thrilled when she got the call from her friend that her grandpa was awake as she rushed to the hospital. Then she rushed up to her grandpa's room as soon as she managed to get a nurse to tell her what room it was with her blond friend trailing a few feet behind her. From then up until the time that visiting hours were over was spent with Yuki and Joey telling Tea, Tristan, Yugi and Solomon about how the duel went. They were also told about how the eldest Muto grandchild beat Seto by doing what was thought to be impossible which was summoning Exodia.

The youngest Muto was in awe as he had asked his big sister to show him the Exodia cards. He had only ever heard their grandpa say stories about them, said man was watching his grandchildren with a proud smile. After all Solomon knew that if anybody would be able to summon Exodia The Forbidden One in a duel it would have been all whether his granddaughter knew it or not dueling was in her blood and she was quite the dueling protege. Even if she wasn't a protege when it comes to dueling he would still be proud of her though. Everyone, well everyone aside from the oldest member of the Muto family since he has to stay at the hospital for the night, went home for the night.

They had school tomorrow that they couldn't miss out on even though they honestly really want to skip school for the day tomorrow. In addition to this in a dark room with no windows and only one door somewhere far away from Domino City sat a man. A man by the name of Maximilian Pegasus as he sat there drinking some red wine from a long stemmed wine glass. He was the owner of Industrial Illusions, creator of Duel Monsters, and the bearer of the Millennium Eye and he was on a quest. His quest was not only for the six other Millennium Items, but for Kaiba Corp as well. The tournament that he would be hosting in a few months was going to help him obtain what he was seeking.

"Mr. Pegasus, Sir, Seto Kaiba our uncontested champion- he's been defeated in a duel Sir, by someone named Yuki." A goon in a suit said as he stood in the only doorway that led into the room.

"Hmm." Pegasus let out a hum in interest towards this new information as his Millennium eye shines for a moment, it seems he would need to look into who this Yuki person is since they must be special if they can beat Seto Kaiba.

The next day

When Yuki went to school the next day after dropping Yugi off at the elementary school she honestly was expecting her classmates to be whispering and gossiping. Having most likely heard about how she defeated Seto in a duel but she guessed she was wrong, or maybe word about her beating him hasn't traveled that fast yet. She also doubted that the brunette CEO would willingly spread word of him getting defeated by a girl that before defeating him was a complete nobody. If any news of his defeat were to be spread it would happen behind his back and would greatly embarrass him. She of course was glad that only her friends, little brother, and her grandpa where the only ones outside of herself, Seto, and Mokuba that knew about the duel.

They also were the only other ones to know how she defeated the Kaiba Corp heir and she hoped to keep it that way for as long as possible. Yuki honestly didn't want to draw unwanted attention to herself or her abilities as duelist. After all despite being a sassy little spitfire when she wants to be Yuki honestly did not like being the center of everyone's attention. She assumed that's why she did pretty okay without any friends up until now and why she doesn't like doing things infront of a large audience. As she sat down in her desk she sighed slightly, hoping that for now that no one would hear about how she defeated the number one ranked duelist in all of the country.

Right now she just wants to get used to dueling with her grandpa's deck, which had now become her deck as her grandpa had let her keep it. After all Solomon had faith that Yuki would take care of the cards and had faith that she would not betray them. He had a feeling that she would do many great things with the help of his Strategy Deck. He couldn't help but enjoy the sparkle of pride and joy that his granddaughter had in her eyes it came to being given the deck. Though of course no one knew that the oldest member of the Muto family's assumption that his granddaughter would do great things was actually right. Nor did anyone know that her having the Millennium Puzzle in her would drag her into a battle to save the world that had happened 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt.
