Wolfie: I do not own anything related to Yu-Gi-Oh. All I own is my oc Yuki and I honestly cannot take credit for the idea behind this story as I was inspired to do this after reading The Miracle Duelist by Knight of Loyalty. You should go give that book a read it is absolutely amazing! Anyways as you saw in the last chapter Yuki summoned the Blue Eyes White Dragon instead of Gia The Dragon Champion like Yugi does in the anime. Also this is short compared to my other chapters and I apologies for that. I was nearly done with the episode when I decided to make this a two part chapter. So this one will probably be easier for those of you who don't like long detailed chapters. Now I'm not going to change everything, just bits and pieces. Please read and review.
Chapter 10: The Ultimate Great Moth part 2
"Oi, what are you cackling about?" Yami Yuki asked as she has the upper hand so she doesn't understand what's so funny.
"Look at your mighty dragon Yuki, doesn't seem so strong now!" Weevil pointed out still laughing as Yami Yuki looked up at her dragon in question.
"The fuck?" Yami Yuki uttered out of shock as she watches her dragon lose points by 100 at a time as he lets out a roar of discomfort. "What are you doing to my monsters, Weevil?!" She asked as she pointed an accusing finger at the giddy looking bug duelist as she saw her other monsters were also losing points.
"I am not doing anything Yuki. Every time my moth attacks, it releases poison particles and it releases tones of these tiny toxic particles with each hurricane it brings forth. And your precious monster's are being poisoned by their deadly touch as we speak. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Weevil said laughing once again causing Yami Yuki to become very aware of the particles floating around the moth and her dragon.
'My dragon's losing his attack points fast, as are the rest of my monsters, but how am I supposed to fight something that's in the air?' Yami Yuki wondered as she became increasingly concerned with the fact that she still may lose.
"Looks to me like my poison particles are taking their toll, Yuki." Weevil said as the Blue Eyes's, who was his main concern at the moment, attack points were almost down to the 1,000 area.
'No! My dragon is in real trouble now, unless...' Yami Yuki's train of thought trailed off as she looked at her deck. 'My Grandpa's deck was able to give me my Blue Eyes when I needed him, I have to have faith it will give me what I need once again.' She thought as she reached over and drew a new card from the deck and looked at it. "Yes! Ready to have me rain on your parade, Weevil? Makiu, The Magical Mist!" Yami Yuki declared as she placed the magic card on the field.
"Grr." Weevil growled as once again his hopes for victory are completely destroyed by his opponents last attempts at winning. "No! My poison! You're washing it all away!" He exclaimed as rain washed over the field drenching it and the monsters whilst getting rid of the poison.
"Yup. Magical Mist makes the field all sparkly and clean." Yami Yuki said as the discolored patches on her Blue Eyes disappear as the rain washes him clean.
"No fair. I was about to win, and you save yourself with a little drizzle?!" Weevil asked in irritation as he was at the end of his rope with all of the times that Yami Yuki has interrupted him just as he was so close to victory.
'Yes I saved my monsters, but that's not the only thing I did.' Yami Yuki thought with a smirk as she saw something that Weevil had yet to notice.
"All right then, you may have stopped my poison attack, but I promise you've only won a brief reprieve, because my next move is one you won't be able to think your way out of! Brace yourself for my ultimate insects ultimate attack! Great moth, Tornado of Doom!" Weevil exclaimed still not seeing what Yami Yuki had actually done as all he cared about was her Blue Eyes was weaker than his moth as the attack was launched.
'I had hoped to end this with you as my finishing monster, Blue Eyes, but I guess not...' Yami Yuki thought as she looked up at her dragon with an apologetic look and maybe her eyes were playing tricks on her but she could've sworn the dragon gave her a reassuring look. It was as if the dragon was telling her that he wasn't upset that he didn't get to properly battle so long as he gets another chance in the near future.
Whether her eyes were playing tricks on her or not Yami Yuki had no time to check as the Great Moth's attack completely engulfed her dragon. With one final mighty roar piercing through the raging tornado the weakened Blue eyes was defeated. This caused quite alot of murmuring within the spectators watching the duel as they were impressed but also disappointed. The only reason Weevil had defeated the mighty dragon was because it had been weakened by the poison particles released by the moth. They all knew that if that dragon had still been at full power there was no way that the Great Moth would ever have been able to defeat him with its so called ultimate attack. Honestly it would've been awesome to see the dragon's attack rather than it just be a deterrent for a single attack. Nevertheless they could understand that not knowing about the poison was an honest mistake. It was a mistake that just about any of them could've made if they were the one dueling Weevil Underwood in place of the girl who beat Seto Kaiba.
"A direct hit. Heh heh heh heh! Your little rainstorm didn't save you from that one now, did it? Your dragon is gone. And you're almost out of life points." Weevil stated tauntingly as the only monsters Yami Yuki had on the field was her Curse of Dragon and Gia the Fierce Knight but they would fall just like the dragon.
Weevil: 155 Yuki: 50
"Yuki, keep fightin'. You can come back from this." Joey reassured as he had to keep optimistic hoping the others would follow his lead since the duel wasn't over till the life points were gone.
"Yea! You can still do this sis!" Yugi encouraged whole heartedly following Joey's lead in staying optimistic.
"You're all delusional." Mai stated with a bored tone of voice because she was sick and tired of all the cheering.
"No. Joey and Yugi are right. Yuki never gives up, and we never give up on her." Tea said even though she doubts that Mai will ever understand what she is talking about.
"You're nuts. Weevil has totally annihilated Yuki's strongest monster. She's down to 50 measly life points. She can't win, so do me a favor and stop yapping." Mai said in the same bored tone as she had before as she has had enough of their cheering to last a life time.
"I won't stop yapping, you selfish, pompous, bleach-blonde, know-it-all windbag." Tea snapped before glancing over at Joey who was watching the duel just like Mai was. "Do us a favor and get lost. Right, Joey?" She asked hoping that her friend will have her back when it comes to this situation.
"You said it. Just ignore her, Tea. Yuki's in trouble." Joey said though it was kinda obvious that he hadn't really been paying attention to what she had been saying.
"I know. What can we do?" Tea asked since she honestly wasn't all that knowledgeable when it comes to dueling as dance is more her forte than dueling is.
"I don't know, but it'd be great if we could trade my in for life points." Joey said seriously but that last part seemed to come off as a joke causing Tea to laugh.
"Or for a second chance at using the Blue Eyes that Grandpa gave Yuki." Yugi said as he wasn't joking either but that also caused Tea to laugh.
"I wish!" Tea said as she was now on her knees having fallen over from laughing.
"I told you all along Yuki never had a chance at winning this thing." Mai stated once again deciding to give them the 'I told you so' tone of voice.
"Oh!" Tea groaned in frustration because of Mai butting in when her comments weren't wanted nor needed.
"She wastes too much of her time listening to you losers. Weevil keeps his mind on the game." Mai explained as Tea stood up from kneeling on the ground in order to look at Mai properly.
"Oh yeah? Then why didn't he see this coming?" Tristan suddenly asked causing the four people next to him to look at him with expressions filled with surprise.
"See what coming?" Joey and Tea asked at the same time as they wanted answers from their slightly tanned friend.
"Whatever it is Yuki's grinning about." Tristan clarified as he glanced over at the three teens and the single 8 year old that were beside him.
"Uh-" Mai hummed in disbelief as she blinked in response to what Tristan told them.
"You're right. She's got a big smile." Joey observed as he saw how Yami Yuki had her eyes closed as she was smiling.
"Uh, she's not smiling. I think she's laughing." Tea added onto Joey's observation of what was going on with their friend.
"No way." Mai protested still not believing that Yami Yuki could be smiling and laughing whilst this close to defeat.
The truth is that Yami Yuki had come to a realization, or more specifically a resolution, to her plan whilst her friends were arguing. Her original plan had been to blast the moth out of the sky with her Blue Eyes's White Lightning attack in order to finish this. However, if she can't use her dragon's lightning to finish off this overgrown bug, then she'd just have to use another monster's lightning. One that despite the fact that it can't fly like the moth can will still surely get the job done thanks to the water on the field and the water on the moth. Now it's just time to put things into motion and it's now time to knock Weevil off of his tall pedestal that he had put himself on thanks to his title as Regional Champion. Oh it was just perfect, maybe a little too perfect, but after much trial and error when a plan is perfect that usually means that there is no possible way it could fail.
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha." Yami Yuki laughed causing Weevil to look at her slightly disturbed at her sudden outburst of laughter.
"Hey, hey! What are you so happy about? Stop that snickering!" Weevil snapped wanting her to stop so he could get back to wiping out the rest of her life points.
"Oh Weevil, so close but yet so far is victory for you. It will be hard to accept losing this duel... Especially after spending so much time finding oh so many ways to cheat. But if you thought bending the rules in your favor would help you win this duel, then you're dumber than you look." Yami Yuki said and at first her words had caused Weevil's confidence to falter as nervousness flooded his system but he snapped back to his confident facade quickly.
"No! This is a trick!" Weevil accused quickly not ready to believe that this maybe a duel that he is going to lose.
"You're a dishonest weasel and do not play fairly, so you expect your opponents to do the same. I was taught to duel with honor, Weevil, and that makes one hell of a difference." Yami Yuki disclosed with a smile as she lightly gripped a card that she was currently holding in her hand.
"You got nothing!" Weevil exclaimed as he was honestly losing his cool for the umpteenth time during that duel.
"That's not true, you may feel big and strong for defeating my dragon the dishonorable way via poison, but I still have this." Yami Yuki said as she held up the card before putting it in play in attack mode. "The mighty Summoned Skull!" She called out as a purple demonic monster with wings and exposed skeletal armor appeared on the field with 2,500 attack points and 1,200 defense points.
"Whoa, what's that?" Mai asked in awe as she looked at the new monster having never seen it in a battle until now.
"This is your reckoning, Weevil. Your overly glorified bug won't be able to survive my next attack." Yami Yuki said as she had all the puzzle piece to her new plan and all that needed to be done is to fit them in place.
'Ha! Yuki must be losing it. Her Summoned Skull is strong, just like her dragon was, but just like with her dragon my Great Moth will crush her Summoned Skull and obliterate her last few life points. All I need her to do is attack and I can just sit back and watch my monster squash hers.' Weevil thought as his newfound nervousness was washed away with this also newlyfound confidence.
"Heh heh heh heh. There's a little teeny detail you overlooked, Weevil-" Yami Yuki said as if she could hear the thoughts going on inside of Weevil's head. "My Magical Mist is still drenching this entire field." She pointed out causing both her opponent and Mai to gasp in either shock or realization.
'She's right!' Weevil thought as he he finally noticed the heavy mist floating around the field below his monster. "Everything's wet." He observed with a whimper before looking towards his moth as a water droplet disturbs the calm water on the field. "My Great Moth is totally soaked." Weevil whined as he noticed how his moth was dripping with water and fluttering its wings rapidly in an attempt to dry off.
"And my Summoned Skull attacks with, guess what, electricity. Making your drenched bug a massive lightning rod. I hope you like BBQ'd bug, Weevil, because all the water adds power to my monster's electrical attack by 1,000 points." Yami Yuki said as her Summoned Skull's attack points rose to 3,500 thanks to the Makiu card. "Summoned Skull, Lightning Strike!" She called out as her monster's body glowed and summoned lightning down from the sky as it hit the Great Moth.
"Ah!" Weevil yelled as his monster was electrocuted by the Summoned Skulls attack as the moth let out pained groans before exploding in a puff of smoke as all of the spectators gasped as it burst into flames.
"It's done. I am the victor." Yami Yuki said her face a mixture of a serious and neutral expression as the Great Moth laid on the field unmoving as it smoldered and smoked.
"No! Impossible! My moth's unbeatable! Uhh-unh." Weevil said in protest as he looked down at his defeated moth before collapsing in defeat as the last of his life points are drained away.
Weevil: 0 Yuki: 50
"All right Yuki!" Joey called out happily at his friends first tournament victory.
"Way to go!" Tristan praised as what him and Joey said made Yami Yuki look at them.
"Yeah!" Joey and Tristan exclaimed together whilst pumping their fists in the air.
"Ha ha! Who're the losers now lady? You and Weasel, that's who!" Yugi said to Mai as he pulled down his right bottom eyelid and stuck his tongue out at the woman who was a loser cause she was proven wrong whilst also saying Weevil's name wrong.
"She won! I knew you would." Tea said not wanting her friend to think that she had lost faith in her ability to win the duel.
"Impressive. I didn't think Yuki could ever beat Weevil." Mai said completely ignoring what Yugi had said to her as she looked at Yami Yuki with a mix of awe, respect, and determination to beat her in a duel.
Placing her collected deck back into the deck box attached to her belt Yami Yuki's platform descended to the ground in order to let her down now that the duel had been finished. During this time the crowd that had gathered to watch the duel had slowly disappeared as they were also duelists and had to win their own duels as well. The platform let Weevil down to as Tristan and Joey quickly flanked and then dragged over the small male before he had a chance to run off to another part of the island. They couldn't risk it as running away also meant that he would be cheating their friend out of her newly obtained star chips that he was clutching to desperately. That is until Yugi pried them away from the blubbering Weevil and happily turned them over to Yami Yuki who smiled at his enthusiasm towards getting them to her. It was unnecessary but she thought it was sweet so she did not dare complain for fear she would hurt the 8 year old's feelings.
"Uh-uh-but I'm the Regional Champion. The Regional Champion!" Weevil whinged and blubbered not knowing why he lost when he held the title of Regional Champion.
"You sit there calling yourself a champion, Weevil, but the only reason you ever won your duels was because you lied and cheated. Real champions- play the game with honor and dignity." Yami Yuki said as she lightly tossed the two star chips in her hand before enclosing her fist around them. "They play fairly." She insisted as she looked at Weevil who honestly looked so depressed that he lost.
"Ah, don't waste your breath on this sneaky slug. He's a dueling disgrace. And I hereby relieve him of his dueling gauntlet." Joey said whilst retrieving said gauntlet as he had been so close and intimidating that he had caused Weevil to cower and then faint.
"3 star chips, only about... 7 more to go." Yami Yuki said with a small sigh as she placed the two new stars into the star cut outs on her gauntlet. "Then when I have 10, I can finally enter the castle, to battle Pegasus and save grandpa." She said her voice full of determination as she looks up towards the castle only to yelp and stumble as Yugi nearly tackled her to the ground as he hugged her.
"Don't be so serious sis! We'll save Grandpa together, and have fun too." Yugi said as he looked up at her with innocent eyes and a sweet smile.
"Yes, together." Yami Yuki affirmed with a smile as she faded back into regular Yuki as she wraps her little brother up in a hug managing to pick him up off the ground as well as he laughed.
'Did big sis's appearance just change?... Nah!' Yugi thought as he innocently dismissed that thought in favor of nuzzling into the hug whilst glad that he decided to stow away on the ship. 'She'd totally be lost without me if I hadn't come along.' He thought as his sister was now carrying them as they walked away from the dueling platform as it sank back into the ground.
