Chapter 20: Time for school

The morning sun rises once again shining through the bedroom windows on Jet who was sleeping soundly in his super soft bed. When suddenly his adoptive mom comes in to wake him.

"Yoohoo. Wake up." Diane said in her sweet motherly tone as she tenderly nudged her adoptive pup

"Mmmm...*Yawn*" Jet rose up yawning before looking at his mother

"Goodmorning sunshine. You sleep like a baby?" Diane smiled

"Goodmorning mommy." Jet smiled back

"Are you ready for your big day?"

"Big day?...Oh that's right! What is it?" Jet asked

"It's time for school." Diane answered

"School?"

"Yes. School for you."

"...You mean i'm really going to a school?" Jet asked a bit surprised

"That's right. Your first day of school as a little pup. Isn't that exciting?" Diane smiled

Jet was about to answer excitedly but he stops and puts on a look of curiosity and confusion.

"You don't know what a school is do you?" Diane asked upon noticing

"No I don't. I know kids go there but...what is a school for? What is it like?" Jet asked

"Well sweetie schools are places where kids like you learn important things and have fun." Diane explained

"Really? I'm going to have fun!?" Jet asked hyping up

"*giggle* I promise you you're gonna love it. So let's get your teeth brushed and get you all nice and freshened up." Diane said

Diane scoops her pup out of bed and carries him to the bathroom to help him get ready for his first day at school. Since Jet was only 4 years old, Diane enrolled him into a pre-school to begin with.

After getting his teeth brushed and his fur groomed, Diane helps Jet dress into a white t-shirt with a cool racecar design on the front, long toddler size blue jeans and toddler size converse sneakers.

"And last but not least, you very own special backpack!" Diane smiled as she whipped out and presented Jet's multi-compartment racecar themed school bag which was blue with racing checkered flag designs on it

"Woah! That's so cool!" Jet beamed in delight as Diane helped him put it on

Later

After a short car ride, Diane and Jet arrive at the pre-school. And just like the hospital, this pre-school was made specially for educating young anthro animal kids. Because anthro kids have to learn way more things than human kids do. Like learn how to groom their own fur for example.

After parking the car on the side of the street, Diane and Jet walk towards the pre-school with other anthro parents dropping their kids off. The pre-school was a small single floor building that was painted in bright fun colors with a large enough playground on the side.

The name of the school was...

Little Paws Early Education & Care

"Well here we are Jet. Your first pre-school." Diane happily gestured towards the building

"So this is what it looks like." Jet said as he observed the interesting building before him

The two enter the building and recieve classroom and schedule info papers from the receptionist. After that Diane walks Jet to his assigned classroom.

Meanwhile inside the classroom

Lots of anthro animal kids were already playing around and talking with eachother passing time before class was going to start. The classroom was large enough with a backpack storage wall off to the side, a large colorful sitting carpet with a chair, a large marker board, decorative crayon drawings hung up, desks, toys, books, anything a pre-school classroom would have. You name it.

While all the kids were playing around, the teacher was sitting at her desk going through her classroom count list making sure she added Jet's name as she was expecting him to be in her class.

The teacher was a young female brown anthro squirrel who had long brunette hair and a long squirrely tail. She was wearing a light pink polo shirt, long skinny jeans, white slip on shoes, and a sporty wrist watch. As she was going through other paper work at her desk, Diane and Jet suddenly show up and come into the classroom. She notices them and right away gets up to go and greet them.

"Hello there! You must be Miss Foxington that I was expecting. I'm Miss Belltale." The teacher happily greeted as she exchanged a handshake with Diane

"Pleasure to see you!" Diane smiled back

"Likewise! So is your kiddo ready for his first day in my class?"

"You bet. He's right here all geared up for his first day of school." Diane said gesturing to Jet

With that Miss Belltale kneels down to Jet with a friendly smile

"Jet, Say hello to Miss Belltale. She will be your teacher." Diane said

"Hello there! How are you sweetie!" Miss Belltale happily greeted as she ruffled Jet's head

"Ummm...Hello. Are you a teacher?" Jet asked in a shy tone

"That is correct and you are now my new student. It's nice to meet you dear." Belltale smiled

After the friendly introductions, Miss Belltale and Diane give Jet a quick tour around the whole classroom before it was almost time for class to start.

"Alright Jet this is where we part ways. I will be back at the end of the day to pick you up. I want you to have fun while i'm gone." Diane informed as she knelt down to Jet's level

"You mean...you're leaving?" Jet asked in a worried tone

"Yes I am. Miss Belltale will take very good care of you here. I promise I will be back." Diane smiled assuringly as she puts her hand on his shoulder

"I will make sure his first day here will be the best." Miss Belltale kindly assured

Without a word Jet hugs his adoptive mom tightly around the waist like it was his last time. Diane happily returns the warm hug before seperating and makes her way out of the classroom. But not without blowing a kiss and waving goodbye to Jet.
