For my 200th story, a brand new adventure has opened the way. Davis, Tai, and their friends have grown and now the time has come to pass the baton to the next generation. Others might be against it, but with new digivices, new digimon, and new digidestined; it could all be a sign that the time draws near for both the human world and the digital world to truly become one.

Digimon are back again

Mary: We arrived in the next sacred area and it was rather pretty. It wasn't so pretty when we found digimon trapped in crystals. We found the guardians responsible, Blastmon and Lotosmon, and they tried to keep us from going. Blastmon had some incredible destructive power, but Lotosmon took a more settle approach. Amanda and Ceberumon stayed behind to keep Blastmon busy. I did the same thing with Lotosmon. Haru and Sid were able to get through and could go to the next area. That's good, but why does it feel like we're missing something?

"Ancient Wisdom"

The digidestined were divided now. Haru and Sid were able to make it through the last area, but there was still one more to get through and it was just them now.

"You think the girls are going to be okay?" Dorugoramon questioned.

"Don't you start worrying about them. Chirinmon and Ceberumon will protect them." Panthermon reminded. "We only have one area to get through now. We have to have faith the others will make it."

"Since it's just us now, we've got to stick together." Haru said.

"The next area is coming up, but I've got a bad feeling about what's ahead of us." Sid said as he was being cautious. They soon arrived at the passage and found themselves in the next area. Flying through the area, they found themselves surrounded by mountain tops and clouds.

"What is this?" Haru questioned as he had look around. "What's with all the mountains? It's so cloudy here that I can't even see what's below us."

"What's with this place?" Dorugoramon questioned with Panthermon thinking about it.

"I think... The first area we were in was the ocean, which represented the sea." Panthermon claimed. "The last area seemed to be one that represented the land. This area must represent the sky."

"You think that's what's going on?" Dorugoramon questioned.

"I believe so." Panthermon figured.

"Frontiers that make a world. Interesting." Sid said. "Sort of make sense when you think about it." The two digimon just flew through the area, but they soon heard something behind them. "Did you hear something?"

"I did." Panthermon said as he looked behind him, but there was nothing there. "Keep your guard up. I don't think we're alone."

"You're right!" Just then, something huge came diving down from above and smashed into Dorugoramon and knocked him down. Then, something jumped up behind Panthermon and attacked him that he was knocked through the air as well. Both of them crashed down on a clearing with Haru and Sid falling off.

"Are you two okay?!" Haru asked.

"Anyone get the number of that bus that just hit us?" Dorugoramon complained.

"At last, you've arrived."

"We've been expecting you." Both of them looked and saw two giant dragon-like digimon. One with samurai armor and the other in blue armor with a large lance.

"I take it those two are the guardians. They surely didn't waste any time showing up." Sid said. "Who are they?"

"I know them." Panthermon said.

"So do I, and this could be a problem." Dorugoramon said.

Digimon Analyzer (Panthermon): That one is Samudramon. He is a mega-level. He's got the combine powers of a dragon and a samurai. Those twin blades of his could slice through anything with his Cross Slicer.

Digimon Analyzer (Dorugoramon): The other one is Darkdramon. He might look like a dragon, but he's also a powerful cyborg. His Dark Roar and Lasers of Light can be devastating.

"We've been expecting your kind to show yourselves." Samudramon claimed. "You are the ones that wish to face Lord Fanglongmon. When he announced your hour of judgement, he expected some of you might come."

"We're not as weak as the other guardians. This is as far as you go." Darkdramon claimed.

"However, Lord Fanglongmon might show some leniency on you digimon." Samudramon said. "If you agree to follow Lord Fanglongmon's will and leave these humans behind, you might be spared from his wrath."

"Yeah right." Dorugoramon said as he didn't really believe that.

"We saw how the other guardians treated other digimon that sided with humans. Why would you two be any different?" Haru said.

"And we see the humans as our friends, especially Haru and Sid. We won't turn our back on them." Dorugoramon said.

"Admirable, but I'm afraid you made a grave mistake." Samudramon said.

"Let's just skip to the part where we eliminate them, Samudramon!" Darkdramon said as he was the first to attack. He held out his lance to attack, but Dorugoramon flew up at him and tried to stop his attack. Panthermon fought back as he took his saber and tried to strike down Samudramon, but Samudramon didn't even flinch and easily blocked his attack with both swords. Panthermon couldn't get him to budge. Dorugoramon gathered power into his fists and kept trying to strike Darkdramon, but Darkdramon blocked every attack thrown at him.

"Terrible Gaze!" Darkdramon fired a beam from his eyes and blasted Dorugoramon right out of the sky. Samudramon and Panther engaged in a sword fight and it seemed even...so far.

"That's quite an impressive weapon you have." Samudramon complimented.

"It's known as the Dark Beast Saber." Panthermon claimed.

"A fitting weapon for someone like you, but I'm afraid it's not good enough!" Samudramon pushed back and fought back with even more power that Panthermon was pushed back.

"Cross Slicer!" Samudramon unleashed his own attack and it blasted Panthermon right into a mountain. That looked like a devastating blow and Panthermon took a lot of damage.

"Panthermon, are you okay?!" Dorugoramon asked.

"What power... Be careful, Dorugoramon. These two seem to be the strongest of all the guardians." Panthermon said.

"You haven't seen anything yet!" Darkdramon claimed as he gathered power for another attack.

"Dark Roar!" Darkdramon formed a dark orb and unleashed it. Both of them got blasted by the attack and took some heavy damage. This fight was completely one-sided with Darkdramon and Samudramon winning. Both Panthermon and Dorugoramon were knocked near the edge of a cliff and suffered some heavy damage.

"Guys! Hang on!" Haru called as he and Sid hurried to their partners.

"Come on! Get up!" Sid encouraged, but both of their partners appeared to be down for the count.

"I was expecting more of a challenge." Darkdramon said.

"Now be kind. These digimon lost their pride by siding with the humans." Samudramon said. "No worries. We'll put them out of their misery." Both of them moved closer and it seemed like there was nothing more Haru and Sid can do.

"Gaia Tornado!" Suddenly, a tornado erupted out of nowhere and surrounded Haru and the others. Samudramon and Darkdramon forced their way through, but all four of them were gone.

"Where'd they go?!" Darkdramon questioned.

"I know that attack. No doubt it was his doing." Samudramon said. "While I do hold some respect for him, I think it's time someone put that old lizard in his place."

"I like where you're going. No one who opposes Lord Fanglongmon will be spared." Darkdramon claimed. "His will is absolute, and all those who oppose him shall be punished." It seems that there's still one brave digimon standing against Fanglongmon's forces. Hopefully, it's not for nothing.

Haru and Sid

Whoever saved them brought them to a cavern they can lay low from those two. After getting their butts kicked by Samudramon and Darkdramon, both digimon turned back to Dorumon and Panmon to recover. Once they were able to pull themselves together, Dorumon and Panmon were able to wake up.

"Are you two okay?" Haru asked.

"I think so." Dorumon said.

"What happened? How did we end up here?" Panmon questioned.

"We were saved, but I'm not sure by who." Sid said.

"That would be by me." All of them looked through the cavern and saw a large digimon making their way to him. This digimon was a large armored dragon with orange wings with him sounding like an old man. "My name is AncientGreymon."

"AncientGreymon?!" Dorumon said as he and Panmon were shocked to know that this was the digimon that saved them.

Digimon Analylzer (Dorumon): AncientGreymon is a powerful digimon. He embodies all the forces of fire. It is said that he is the oldest living digimon to this day.

"Really? One of the oldest?" Haru questioned as that was amazing.

"You bet. There isn't a dragon digimon that doesn't know of him." Dorumon said.

"Not just dragon digimon." Panmon said. "Many digimon have heard tales of him and nine other digimon that have embodied the forces of nature. He is the one that represents the element of fire."

"Impressive. Thanks for the save." Sid said.

"It was my pleasure. Those two younglings, Darkdramon and Samudramon, look like they could use an elderly spanking." AncientGreymon said with a cackle. "You are the digidestined, are you not? The humans fight alongside digimon to protect both worlds. I've been wanting a long time to meet your kind. I take it you are here because both worlds are on the verge of destruction."

"That's right. We're here because we need to get to Fanglongmon." Haru said. "He's the only one with the power to stop both worlds from colliding into each other. The problem is that he wants to destroy the human world believing humans are a threat to this world."

"Yes. I've heard much about this, but it is rather absurd considering humans and digimon hold a close relation towards each other." AncientGreymon said. "However, there is more to Fanglongmon and much more to the connections of both worlds than you even realized."

"What do you mean?" Sid questioned.

"I might be the oldest living digimon, but that age came wisdom and knowledge." AncientGreymon claimed. "I know much about the connection both worlds have with each other."

"Please, tell us what you know." Haru said as this might be important.

"The Digital World and your world have existed for many years." AncientGreymon said. "Despite how you humans have developed technology for what you call the internet, the Digital World has existed just as long as your world has. For many years, the two worlds held a connection, but it was quite small. It was so small that neither kind could cross into the other world like you can today. Over time, that connection did grow as you can see. However, just like anywhere else, the Digital World has had it's fair share of conflict. Power often is corrupted, and the forces of light and darkness have been in conflict with each other since the beginning of time itself."

"Not to be rude, but what does any of this have to do with our situation right now?" Sid questioned.

"We are in a bit of a hurry. We can't waste a lot of time." Haru said.

"Patience!" AncientGreymon said and made his point clear as some fire spewed out of him, scaring them into behaving. "What is it with everyone in a hurry? No one stops to smell the roses even if they smell bad. I'll just skip ahead. As you might know, the Digital World itself is actually alive. Maybe not in the sense that we are, but it does hold living energy. You humans might not be as powerful as you digimon, but power can lead to corruption, arrogance, selfishness, and more that lead to chaos. The Digital World knew of this chaos, and that chaos would bring disaster and destruction, so it sought out help from a mirroring world."

"Our world." Sid figured.

"Discovering a powerful force that is awakened when humans and digimon are together, the Digital World intended to use that power to battle the darkness." AncientGreymon said.

"Digivolution. Is that it?" Haru said.

"Yes. We digimon digivolve on our own, but that usually takes years and some experience." AncientGreymon said. "When you humans share your energy with us digimon, we digivolve instantly. It helps awaken new kinds of power that we digimon alone could never discover. By having humans and digimon working together, the dark forces were driven back and four powerful digimon were formed that took it upon themselves to watch the Digital World. Then, one day they combined their powers into a single entity. They each took half of their power and combined them into one to help build a form of order to help battle against the chaos."

"Fanglongmon! Those four digimon had to be the Digimon Sovereign!" Sid said.

"So is Fanglongmon really the combined power of the four Digimon Sovereign together?" Haru questioned.

"Or perhaps Fanglongmon is the original and he divided his power into copies that make the Sovereign." AncientGreymon figured. "Then again, it's like the age-old question you humans have: which came first? The chicken or the egg? Of course, not knowing what a chicken is is one of the things I don't know. Knowing all of this, I too am a digimon that believes our two kinds can live together."

"But Fanglongmon doesn't." Sid said. "He believes that we humans are the cause of many of the Digital World's problems. I don't blame him." He said thinking about his own actions. "I attacked innocent digimon. Look at Hiori did."

"But Fanglongmon thinks that because humans came around the same time the problems started." Panmon claimed.

"I'm afraid there's more to it than that." AncientGreymon said. "Fanglongmon has every reason to believe that. The human world has had a stronger affect on the Digital World than you think. The cause of the shared energy between humans and digimon is actually your human emotions. Your emotions produce an energy that affects the digimon."

"Our emotions do?" Haru questioned.

"That's right, but that can be a bad thing. Positive emotions can generate what you have witnessed with your partners up until now, but there are negative emotions as well." AncientGreymon said. "The negative feelings caused by you humans affected our world, aiding in the creation of many wild, vicious, and evil digimon. Whenever something bad happened in your world, the negative emotions affected this world and formed some of the digimon here."

"That must be why Fanglongmon is attacking the human world." Sid said. "He wants to destroy the source of all that negative power."

"Which would mean less evil digimon and making the Digital World a better place." Haru said. "No wonder he blames humans for all of our problems."

"But he doesn't seem to understand that by doing that, he's putting many in danger." Panmon said.

"And it will destroy the delicate balance that could do more harm than good." AncientGreymon claimed. "Fanglongmon believes it's more the digimon than humans. It is his responsibility to counter the chaos that has come from what he believes you humans have brought, and therefore came to see you as the enemy. Remember that Fanglongmon isn't evil, and his intentions are good, but he doesn't understand how much humans and digimon need each other."

"We need to knock some serious sense into him."

"We need to stop Fanglongmon and have him see he's wrong." Haru said.

"But how?" Sid questioned. "We can't even find the Sacred Gate to get to him. We were attacked before we could even find the light the Sovereign left for us. Without it, how are we going to find the gate?"

"I know where it is and I can take you there." AncientGreymon claimed and that was perfect for them. With AncientGreymon's help, they all climbed on him and he carried them to where the Sacred Gate is suppose to be. "It shouldn't be too long. The gate should be straight ahead."

"AncientGreymon, what can you tell us about the guardians?" Haru questioned

"You mean Samudramon and Darkdramon?" AncientGreymon questioned. "They are loyal to Fanglongmon. They were chosen by Fanglongmon himself and have come to share his view on things. Each one of them were digimon that grew into what they were without the aid of humans."

"Same can be said for the other four." Panmon claimed.

"And we don't need their help. Lord Fanglongmon's will is absolute." They looked right ahead and saw Darkdramon and Samudramon standing in the way. "We're not just Lord Fanglongmon's henchmen. We're his greatest warriors."

"I think it's time you learned your lesson: never oppose Lord Fanglongmon." Samudramon claimed.

"Hey! Get out of the way!" Dorumon called.

"Imagine my surprise to find out that even you, AncientGreymon, would side against Lord Fanglongmon." Samudramon claimed. "It would seem we'll have to destroy you along with them."

"Don't others know to respect their elders these days?" AncientGreymon said.

"We'll take care of them." Panmon said as he and Dorumon were getting back in the fight and some payback.

"Dorumon warp digivolve to...Dorugoramon!"

"Panmon warp digivolve to...Panthermon!"

"Last warning. Stand aside." Dorugoramon said.

"And you think you can make us?" Darkdramon taunted.

"The only way for you to get through is with a fight." Samudramon said.

"We're not afraid of you. We're not afraid to stand for what we believe in." Panthermon said and charged right in.

"Attack!" Samudramon said as he met the attack and the two of them crossed blades with each other.

"You're mine, Dorugoramon!" Darkdramon said as he flew up with Dorugoramon going after him.

"Supreme Courage!" Dorugoramon kept trying to attack Darkdramon, but Darkdramon blocked every strike that landed against him and was able to land his own strike. He smashed his lance against Dorugoramon. As for Panthermon, he kept trying to fight off Samudramon, but Samudramon was able to smash his leg against Panthermon and knocked him to the side.

"AncientGreymon, why would a digimon like you dare oppose Lord Fanglongmon to begin with?" Samudramon questioned.

"I might be old, but I still know right and wrong." AncientGreymon claimed. "I think it's time you learned about something called respect." AncientGreymon said. "You two little boys might want to take cover somewhere." Dorugoramon and Panthermon moved quickly and they both got their partners away.

"Omega Corona!" AncientGreymon gathered all the fire power he could in a ball of fire that was as large as him. He launched it right at Samudramon and caused a massive explosion. It did seem to get Samudramon to move back, but AncientGreymon seems to be doing rather poorly himself with how he's breathing so hard.

"What's wrong with the big guy? Why is he breathing so hard?" Haru questioned.

"He's the oldest living digimon... Maybe he's too old for battle!" Sid said as that is a serious problem.

"That makes this easy." Samudramon claimed.

"Cross Slicer!" His attack came right at AncientGreymon and smashed against him with AncientGreymon taking some serious damage.

"Lasers of Light!" Darkdramon joined in as he smashed his empowered lance against AncientGreymon and did some damage himself. AncientGreymon slid against the ground and wasn't moving now.

"No! AncientGreymon!" Haru called as he and Sid jumped off their partners and hurried over to him. "Are you okay?"

"I guess was too old for battle." AncientGreymon said as he sounded weak. "Haru, I see it. You're the one that holds the crest that was formed by Fanglongmon's power."

"What?! The human with that crest is him?" Samudramon questioned as he found that astonishing.

"With that crest, you might be able to take Fanglongmon, but it's going to take you and your friends to do that." AncientGreymon said. "Digimon might grow because of humans, but you humans grow as well because of digimon. It's easy to feel negative, but it's because of the digimon that teach you humans important life lessons. We digimon can make you believe in things that you probably couldn't before. Humans and digimon need each other. You must have Fanglongmon see that." Those were his last words before he burst into data.

"No! AncientGreymon!" Haru called as they couldn't believe he was gone just like that.

"Well, that takes care of the old timer." Darkdramon said.

"Now, shall we finish what we started?" Samudramon asked. After seeing what those two have done, Panthermon and Dorugoramon were more determined to fight.

"The sooner the better! Let's go!" Dorugoramon claimed.

"That does it! No more running!" Sid claimed.

"You two are loyal to Fanglongmon! Is that why you destroy digimon that want to live with humans?!" Haru said. "You have no idea what you've done. You two will pay for what you did to AncientGreymon!" After hearing what AncientGreymon has told them, they have to stop Fanglongmon. After seeing what they just saw, they won't forgive these two and will make sure to defeat Fanglongmon...once they beat these two.
