Ben: We arrived in Lima, Peru to destroy the next Server Tower. Sid was still having a hard time adjusting to being on a team, but Ken helped him. Ken knew what it was like to truly regret one's actions and could relate to Sid's situation since he went through the same thing. They were also attacked by Andromon, an old friend. It was hard to fight without hurting him, but Sid's quick thinking not only destroyed the Server Tower, but it also earned him a friend and our trust. Now, we're off to Hong Kong.

"Fierce as the Storm"

"Reports of digimon sightings and fighting has been seen in America." The news said as Mary's parents were watching the news. "More and more digimon fights seem to be appearing, but what is the cause for all of it. Many say it's a personal dispute or that they are reacting to the negative views of how the public sees them and they should be left alone."

"Yeah, right." Mr. Minato said as he turned off the television. "Those things are dangerous. I sure hope Mary isn't caught up in any of this."

"Mary's a smart girl. She knows better than to get involved with those things." Mrs. Minato said, but that's only because they don't know what she really got mixed up in. "Besides, she messaged me earlier and told me she was actually with Kari."

"Kari? As in Kari Kamiya, her old babysitter?" Mr. Minato said. "That's good. Kari was always a good girl, and Mary loved spending time with her. She especially loved that white cat Kari always had. I'm sure everything is okay." That's what they think. Mary's parents have always been against the digimon while Mary always had a strong interest in them. If only they knew the truth...

...

Hong Kong

The digidestined all soon arrived in Hong Kong. That's where the next Server Tower was suppose to be at. Of course, the same problem is that they don't know where the Server Tower's precise location is and they're in the middle of a huge city.

"Back home, it wasn't even noon. Then, we jump straight to the late afternoon. Then, it's the middle of the night. Now, it's broad daylight again." Taka said. "Honestly, how is anyone suppose to keep track of the time like this?"

"Taka, maybe you should complain less about the time jumps." Cody said.

"I always wanted to pay a visit to Hong Kong. I just wish it was under better circumstances." Mary said.

"I must admit that this city does seem rather marvelous." Kudamon said as he was enjoying the culture that came with the city.

"It might look nice, but there's a Server Tower somewhere in the city." Sid said.

"But I swear the cities are getting bigger and bigger. There's got to be an easier way to find these things." Ben said.

"Well, what we've been doing so far is working, so let's just keep doing it. We'll find it, especially if there's another digimon going on a rampage." Gatomon said. Since they had nothing else to go on, they all just went their own ways in the same pairs. Everyone went in different directions with it soon just being Kari and Mary.

"Well, shall we get going?" Kari asked.

"Right." Mary said with the two of them moving to find the Server Tower. Unlike the others, Kari and Mary had known each other before Mary became a digidestined and got caught up in these adventures. The two of them get along rather well and Mary always looked up to Kari. The two of them searched around for what felt like hours, but there was still no sign of the Server Tower.

"Nothing is ever easy, is it?" Kari said. "It doesn't appear to be anywhere, and maybe there's no digimon being affected by it either."

"That's just going to make find it even more difficult." Mary said. "Still, the bright side is that we get see different countries. There are some real advantages to being a digidestined besides just saving the world. I wish my parents would see that."

"I take it your parents don't approve of the digimon." Kari said.

"No. I love them, but I wish they give them a chance." Mary said.

"I get it. I had to keep the secret from my parents for a while, but they soon found out about Gatomon and Agumon, and they really like them." Kari said.

"Kari? What was it like for you when you first became a digidestined?" Mary asked.

"Well, I was the last to join out of my brother's group. Everyone else went together while I stayed behind." Kari said. "Still, I was never scared of the digimon. They were all incredible, except for the ones that wanted to hurt people. I might not have had much experience as the others got, but I came around to it rather quickly."

"I guess it helps that you had your brother and good people with you." Mary said. "I suppose it also helps that you had the guy you like with you."

"Not this again." Kari said.

"I'm just saying... You like him, he seems to like you. What's the problem?" Mary teased.

"I don't like Davis that way." Kari denied.

"You say that, but I don't think you mean it. Either you just don't want to admit it or you haven't realized that you actually do like him." Mary teased. "I heard of a few things you did to him that might say otherwise. I really don't see what the problem is. You and he have known each other since you were kids, right? You actually attempted to make him jealous, so why do that if you don't like him? Plus, you two have been on tons of adventures together and it sounds like he is always trying to support you and help you. True, T.K. is the same way from what I've heard, but there are a couple other things I've heard that has me thinking you do like Davis. With all that, it shouldn't be too hard for you to say you like him." Kari was getting a little flustered until she found a way to shut Mary up.

"So how come you can't seem to do the same with Haru?" Kari teased, and she knew that would work.

"We should really find that Server Tower." Mary said as she kept walking. As for their two digimon, they just hung back and couldn't stop listening in on this.

"Human love seems to be a complex matter. Wouldn't you say, Gatomon?" Kudamon questioned.

"You can say that again, but at least they're keeping their focus on the mission." Gatomon said.

'Yes, but I'm concerned about another matter.' Kudamon thought as he thought of the situation. 'At each of the Server Towers, we had to face Gogmamon, Okuwamon, and Andromon. They were all ultimate digimon. I'm worried the opponents we face will be just as strong. If I'm going to stand a chance, I need to become an ultimate as well, but how? Gennai said that the answer is with Mary. She just needs to want it and let it out, but what does that mean?'

"Hey, we've all been working rather hard and hardly got any breaks." Kari said. "How about we all try to get something to eat?"

"Really? Now?" Kudamon questioned.

"Yeah. All this saving two worlds business is sure to work an appetite, and you digimon need food to help keep your strength up." Kari siad.

"Kari's got a point. We need to keep our strength up, and we can get it to go so that we can eat and search Maybe we could even ask the locals if they've seen anything." Mary suggested as it seemed like a great idea. The four of them found a small little restaurant for them to get some food. As Kari was getting the food, Mary and Kudamon waited outside.

"I certainly hope Gatomon is okay in there, whether the owner thinks she's a digimon or a cat. We wouldn't want to cause any unwanted trouble." Kudamon said.

"I don't think it's really a problem." Mary said. "Kudamon, take a look around. Look closely." Kudamon looked around the street and saw that there actually were a few people that had some digimon with them. "Those must be some of the international digidestined we were told about." It was actually rather nice to see digimon and humans living together like this. One digimon spotted Kudamon and winked right at him knowing that living like this is great. Seeing things like this had Mary think back to the time she had her first encounter with a digimon without realizing it.

...

Flashback

"Here, kitty! Here, kitty!" Mary called. Back when she was just a little girl, she played around with Gatomon and thought she was just a regular cat. It was back when Kari was her babysitter. She kept chasing Gatomon around with Gatomon acting like a normal cat.

"Careful, Mary. Don't hurt her." Kari said.

"I won't." Mary said, but she ended up stepping right on Gatomon's tail. It was so painful that Gatomon couldn't stay quiet.

"Yeow! You just said you wouldn't hurt me!" Gatomon shouted with Kari feeling like they're busted.

"You... You talked..." Mary said as she was stunned back then. Seeing as how Gatomon was caught, Kari sat down with Mary and told her all about the digimon. "Gatomon is one of those digimon? My parents say they're dangerous."

"Not all digimon are." Kari said. "There are all kinds of digimon. Some of them are rather scary, but there are some that are rather sweet and nice."

"But Mommy and Daddy say that all digimon are dangerous." Mary said.

"Well, look at Gatomon. Is she bad?" Kari asked. Mary took a good look at Gatomon and nothing about her was dangerous to Mary. That's why she petted her like any other cat and Gatomon was glad to know Mary wasn't scared of her. "A lot of people do think that way about digimon, but I do hope a time will come where humans and digimon can live together. There are all kinds of digimon and we should live with the good ones." Mary didn't know it back then, but that helped set things in motion for her and she wanted to know more and more about digimon.

"Kari, do you think I could get a digimon one day?" Mary asked.

"You might." Kari said.

End of Flashback

...

'This is how it should be.' Mary though. 'Humans and digimon living together with nothing to break them apart. I just can't understand why that can't last. Take Kari for example. She's in her twenties, but a time might come soon where she and Gatomon are forced apart like how Tai lost his partner. There are also those who are against digimon like my parents that are the problem. There is just so much that want to keep us apart. If I ever lost Kudamon, I don't know what I do.' Sh wanted a digimon ever since she was a kid, especially after she really got to know Gatomon, and now she has one. She never wants to lose Kudamon, but there are those who will think he's a monster like many others.

"Here you go." Kari said as she came back and gave some food for Mary and Kudamon.

"Thanks." Mary said as she and Kudamon shared some dumplings.

"I got great news." Kari said as she pulled out her phone. "I showed the man a picture of the Server Tower that Izzy gave us. He said he saw it."

"He did?! He knows where it is?!" Mary said.

"He sure does, and he says there's been no digimon guarding it or anything." Gatomon said. "This is a golden opportunity."

"You're right. We can destroy it without any problem." Kudamon said. Knowing this, the four of them didn't wait around. They all moved as fast as they could and soon found the Server Tower just down a large road. "There it is!"

"Great. This one will be easy." Mary said as the four of them hurried over to the tower, but then it stopped being easy. A digital gate was opening right near the tower.

"You just had to say something." Gatomon complained. That was when something emerged out of the gate and it was the size of a dinosaur. The moment that digimon set foot in the real world, the Server Tower took in affect and it was affecting the digimon's instincts.

"It's MasterTyrannomon!" Kudamon said as this could be trouble

Digimon Analyzer (Kudamon): MasterTyrannomon is a much stronger version of the original Tyrannomon as well as an ultimate digimon. His Master Fire is proof of that immense strength.

"No. We were so close. I thought this time we could destroy it without having to fight an innocent digimon." Kari complained. Master Tyrannomon took a step closer and breathed out fire from them. They all moved back and tried to avoid the flames. "I guess there's no other choice. Gatomon?"

"I'm on it." Gatomon said as she leaped right at MasterTyrannomon and ready to fight.

"Gatomon digivolve to...Angewomon!"

"Angewomon?!" Mary said as she never saw Gatomon digivolve before and was amazed by it.

"Heaven's Charm!" Angewomon unleashed a pink cross-like attack and it blasted against MasterTyrannomon, but it just pushed through the attack.

"This isn't going to be easy, Kari. MasterTyrannomon is a digimon that has accomplished many fierce battles." Angewomon warned.

"Forget about winning this fight. You just need to destroy that tower." Kari said.

"Right. Celestial..." Angewomon tried aiming right at the tower, but MasterTyrannomon swatted her with his claws and knocked her away.

"Wow. Not only is Gatomon's next level amazing, but Kari is fighting despite how much she doesn't want to. She really is incredible. How does she do it?" Mary questioned.

"Mary, we have to help." Kudamon said. Mary knew they should, but she's worried since MasterTyrannomon is at a higher level than him.

"Okay, but be careful." Mary said with Kudamon going with it.

"Kudamon digivolve to...Reppamon!"

Reppamon tried to help in this fight. He jumped up at MasterTyrannomon, but the giant dinosaur knocked him away with his claws.

"Razor Wind!"

"Master Fire!" Both digimon used their attacks, but Reppamon's attack was completely consumed by the flames and blasted against him. Reppamon took some serious damage from that and it looked rather bad.

"Reppamon!" Mary called as she hurried to him. "Talk to me. Are you okay?"

"I think..." Reppamon said as he tried to get back up. This is what Mary was worried about.

'This is crazy. We shouldn't be fighting like this in the first place.' Mary thought. 'MasterTyrannomon didn't do anything. He's only under the affects of that Server Tower. Even so, Reppamon doesn't stand a chance like this.'

"Mary! Get out of there!" Kari called as MasterTyrannomon came at them again like a beast. Reppamon acted fast as he pushed Mary out of the way. Angewomon helped out as she flew in and got her out of there, but MasterTyrannomon's claws smashed against Reppamon and knocked him into a building.

"Reppamon!" Mary called as she's getting scared. MasterTyrannomon is much stronger than Reppamon and is worried he might not make it. "Kari, where are the others?! We need help!"

"I've already alerted them about what's going on! They should be on their way!" Kari called.

"They can take their time!" Reppamon called as he came running out. "I can take him!" He jumped up at MasterTyrannomon, but it was just a repeat with the claws again as Reppamon was knocked to the ground. It was about to get a lot worse. With Reppamon smashed against the ground, MasterTyrannomon took one step forward and Reppamon was right underneath him.

"Reppamon!" Mary cried, terrified on what just happened. She practically forced herself out of Angewomon's arms.

"Celestial Arrow!" Angewomon fired another arrow and blasted MasterTyrannomon, forcing him to move back, but the damage was already done to Reppamon...and it looked really bad.

"Reppamon!" Mary cried as she ran to his side. "Reppamon, please talk to me! Tell me you're okay!"

"I'm... I'm sorry." Reppamon struggled to say. None of this was good. Just then, the others arrived and saw what was going on.

"Kari! Are you okay?!" T.K. asked.

"I am, but Reppamon isn't." Kari said. All of them noticed Reppamon and were all shocked to see what happened to him.

"Oh no. Reppamon..." Haru said as this might actually be it.

"Reppamon, you're going to be okay. Please just try to hold on." Mary said as she didn't want to lose him. This is what comes from fighting, but it couldn't be stopped.

"It's time...to say goodbye." Reppamon said as it seems like this could be the end.

"No... Reppamon!" Mary cried. She doesn't want to be separated from Kudamon. She wants to stay with him, even if that means she has to fight. It's what they're fighting for. It's what she wants. That was when her digivice began to shine and a power was rejuvenating Reppamon. It was time.

"Reppamon digivolve to..." Reppamon began to digivolve as wind spiraled around him with his body changing. He even grew wings for him to take to the sky as a majestic creature of the wind. "Chirinmon!"

Having digivolved, he was fully healed and stood in his new form as Chirinmon. Everyone was amazed. Mary wanted Reppamon to have the power to digivolve and he has it now.

"Did Reppamon just digivolved?" Ben questioned.

"He did. It's amazing. Just look at him." Yolei said.

Digimon Analyzer: I am Chirinmon. I am an ultimate digimon that's as fast as the wind and as fierce as the storm. There will be no escape for those who wish to do evil.

It's incredible that he digivolved, but there was still a fight. When MasterTyrannomon tried to attack Chirinmon took to the sky. He could actually fly now. MasterTyrannomon kept trying to attack him, but Chirinmon was much faster. MasterTyrannomon couldn't keep up. Using his horn like a sword, he was even to nick MasterTyrannomon a couple times.

"Wave of Reformation!" Chirinmon unleashed a sparkling aura from his wings that shined down on MasterTyrannomon. Once he got caught in it, MasterTyrannomon began to feel much more relaxed and wasn't attacking as fiercly as he did before.

"That should calm him down, but it won't last. Mary, open the gate!" Chirinmon called. Mary didn't hesitate to do just that. She opened a gate to the Digital World with it becoming big enough for MasterTyrannomon to slip through. Once it was opened, Chirinmon back up and then flew at MasterTyrannomon at full force and tackled him. The tackle was so hard that he was able to push MasterTyrannomon inside and sent him back to the Digital World.

"It worked! He's back!" Mary called.

"Great work, Chirinmon. Now for the Server Tower." Angewomon said.

"Please, allow me." Chirinmon said. He flew up and put himself into position.

"Wind Cutter Sword!" Chirinmon dived straight down and used his horn like a sword as he slashed right through the tower like a samurai to a piece of wood. The tower was split in half and destroyed.

"Chirinmon is incredible!" Amanda said.

"You can say that again!" Labramon said. Chirinmon is certainly an incredible digimon, and none agreed more than Mary. Chirinmon landed down to Mary and she brushed her hand against his face.

"You were incredible, and I'm glad you're not hurt." Mary said. "I was scared that I lost you for a moment."

"But you didn't, and it's because of you." Chirinmon said.

"Because of me? What do you mean?" Mary questioned.

"Yeah... Mary, what did you do? How did you get him to digivolve to the ultimate?" Taka questioned. "It might be helpful for the rest of us."

"It's just as Gennai said, and I think I understand." Chirinmon said. "The power was in you the whole time, Mary. You just needed to want it and let it out. You wanted the power to come out. What you desired the most was the key to unlocking it, and I could tell what that was. What you desired the most was for us to stay together. You don't want anything to break us apart."

"You're right." Mary said as she held Chirinmon's head in her hands in love and comfort. "I don't really like how we have to fight digimon like this, but I'll fight if it means I don't have to lose you. You're one of the best things that has ever happened to me."

"I feel the same." Chirinmon said as the bond between them is so strong and they never want to be apart. Mary really loves digimon, and she really loves her partner. Speaking of love...

"I hate to ruing the moment, but Izzy messaged us earlier saying he got another location." Ben said. "The next Server Tower is in Paris, France."

"Paris?!" Taka said as he was shocked to hear about that.

"Looks like we're heading for the city of love." Haru said as he rubbed his elbow against Davis implying that it might be his chance with Kari. The others didn't mind, but Taka seemed a little bothered.

"Taka? Are you okay?" Ponymon asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine." Taka claimed, but he really wasn't. 'Why did it have to be Paris?'

To Be Continued...

What's wrong with Taka? Why does he not want to go to Paris? Find out on the next Digimon Digital Monsters.
