Chapter 13
New York:
Evan had not had a good day, first he had forgotten his lunch, he had gotten detention and he was near hysterics thanks to the man that had attacked him and his family yesterday and to top it all off someone had stolen his money, again. "Not again!" he yelled in frustration "Something wrong Daniels?"Evan jumped in surprise; Pietro was the last person he wanted to see today "Where did you come from?" Pietro smirked "That´s the question you should be asking in the basketball court" Evan snorted "I know you´re fast man, you actually made a good pass last night but…."-"Aha! So you finally admit that I'm better than you"-"I said you were faster, not better after all I got tricks of my own" Daniels told him smugly "Like getting ripped off for the second time this month, what's up with that?" Evan frowned at him "Yeah and I even changed the combination"-"Sounds like a mystery"-"Yeah but I'm going to catch the person who did this to me" Evan told him annoyed not noticing the dark smirk that spread across Pietro´s face. "Sure you will… but you're going to need bait" he said as he took out his wallet and handed him some of his own money. Evan smiled surprised at the nice gesture of his rival "Hey thanks man, I promise I´ll pay you back" Pietro waved his hand dismissively "Well catch you later" Evan said as he turned away to go home. Pietro waited he was out of ear shot and said to no one in particular "Not even in your best day Daniels you'll never catch me" Evan rode home in his skateboard his mood slightly better thanks to Pietro but it fell down once he got home and saw some guy in a black t-shirt examination his yard, his parents were talking with a red head and a guy with sun glasses while his aunt was sitting reading a book, apparently unfazed with the commotion surrounding her, he tapped her on the shoulder "Auntie O, what going on? who are this people?" Ororo put her book down and sighted "Your parents are talking with Jean and Scott they represent and institute with people who have special abilities like you" Evan frowned "And the other one" Evan pointed at Bruce "oh, that´s just Bruce" Evan didn't seem convinced "Well Bruce is doing something with my yard" Bruce was in full detective mode, analyzing every little part, every clue and running some test in the blood sample he had found on the grass. Evan tapped him on the shoulder "Hey, dude" Bruce suppressed a groan of annoyance, he hated when people interrupted him when he was working, he turned around "Yes, can I help you?" Evan pointed at the computer he had set on top of some flowers "You have completely destroyed my mother's flowers" Bruce looked at the flowers then back at Evan, he shrugged "they were like this when I found them, I just put the computer on top of them" Evan rolled his eyes "And what exactly are you doing?"-"Finding the man that is after your neck" Evan stopped talking and looked at the teenager in suspicion "Evan, sweetie we need to talk to you, in the living room" his mother told while his father was frowning behind her. Evan had a bad feeling about this.
"Man you don't give up, do you auntie O" Evan said slightly irritated, Jean intervened quickly "That´s because she loves you, she is concerned, we all are" her mom sighted "Well it certainly explain why you always come home with holes in your clothes"-"We all knew this was a probability, while you did not receive the x gene the same way as I did, I knew it could show in future generations"-"It´s really not that bad Ms. Daniels having special powers can be pretty cool sometimes" Scott told them "Oh Yeah? I tell you what shades let me see what you got that makes you so cool" Evan told him rudely, his mother scolded at him "Evan!" Jean smiled "It´s ok it just that Scott´s powers aren't what you would call indoor friendly" Evan rolled his eyes "Ok whatever, look I like it right here, and I don't plan on going to a home of freaks, if you excuse I got school stuff to take care of" Evan was about to turn in his heel when he heard the voice of Bruce "Even if it endangers your family and your friends" Evan looked at him with his eyes narrowed "What are you talking about?"-"The man that attacked you last night was Frank Cattle he has been in the army and has been arrested for taking the law into his own hands"-"And what does he want with me?"_"He probably saw you use your powers and decided that you were a threat; we can take you some were safe and he will probably leave you alone" Evan looked at Bruce and shook his head "I can take care of myself" he shot the door of his room loudly. Jean sighted "That went well"-"Yeah and I thought we were really making a connection" Scott told her sarcastically "I'm sorry about my son Mr. Summer he is obviously dealing with a lot, I´ll talk with him" Jean gasped making every bodies attention turn to her "He´s going out the window" when they got to the door he was already on the streets making his way to his school "We really need to work on our sales pitch" Scott muttered to Bruce who simply nodded in agreement "Summers with me" Scott looked at Bruce "We´re going after him?" Bruce nodded "Just to make sure he isn't attacked by Castle or before he does something stupid" Scott sighted and followed Bruce. When they got to the school it was completely deserted, Bruce stopped him before they entered, Scott raised an eyebrow at him, Bruce simply handed him a pair of binoculars "we watch him from outside, if he sees us the whole plan goes down"-"I thought we were here to help him?"-"He doesn't want our help, he would run or attack us, we just need to lay low and when he gets in real trouble he will come with us"- "You sound like you are sure he will get in trouble"-"If he searches for it he sure will".
Evan sneaked his way into the school, he kept walking until he was in front of his locker and prepared himself "Ok, thief you want to play tonight, the spike man is ready" Evan waited for a couple of minutes before he heard the sound of a strong wind, suddenly all the locker were opened at an incredible speed, he felt himself being bombarded with stuff from the lockers, shoes pencils and of curse books. "Whatever this is it stops now!" Evan yelled and started to shoot spikes at random attempting to hit the invisible force. Suddenly all the stuff fell to the ground and Evan found himself in front of a familiar face "Pietro?!"-"Call me Quicksilver" he said with a smirk "Like the outfit, made it myself took me like a quarter of a second" he said gesturing to his blue and white costume. "Well you look at this, it looks like my old pal had some few tricks of his own but as usual" He disappeared in a blur and pushed Evan from behind "Not as good as mine" Evan stared at him dumbfounded "You… You have powers too?" Pietro rolled his eyes "Duh, finally it took you a while to get it, remember Daniels everything you can do I can do better oh mind if I take this back" he said pulling out his money from Evan´s wallet "But why would you want to do this to me?"-"For the challenge, with my super speed I get bored super quickly I got to entertain myself, and you thought you could stop me" he said in an amused voice "You´ll pay for this Pietro" he said as he charged at Pietro spike in hand, Pietro yawned and in his super speed appeared behind Evan and pushed him once more "Too slow what a surprise, you know I think you will have to train a little bit more with those powers of yours, well you'll have plenty of time to that" he said as he heard the sound of the police sirens in front of the building "See you later Daniels" He disappeared leaving Evan in the floor, he looked up and saw to police officers frowning at him "Get up kid you are in a lot of trouble".
Scott looked at Evan as he was pushed inside the Police car "Well I just hope the professor can bail him out" Bruce rubbed his eyes "And what´s worse is that we have a rogue mutant, a rival of Evan, come on let's call the professor" Scott was about to move until he thought of something "Hey Bruce what about the vigilante, what if he comes to Bayville and attack us" Bruce frowned "I would take care of him before he even got close to the mansion" Scott relaxed a little bit, he took out his phone and called the professor "Professor I think we are going to need your help"
Evan sighted and looked at his surroundings, he was in jail, how could have things taken such a wrong turn? He heard the sound of the door being open and he was faced with his parents, his aunt and even the guys from the institute "Evan what happened?" his mother asked in a weak voice, as if she was about to cry. "This is what happens when you misuse your powers, you go to jail" Scott told him. "It wasn't me!" Evan yelled at him "It´s ok Evan, I believe you; in fact I know you didn't do it" Ororo looked at him with pleading eyes "Please Evan listen to me let us help you, I promise you wont regret it"-"Let's make a deal" Evan turned to look at Scott "The professor uses his influence to get you out of here and you give the institute a shot what do you say?" Evan groaned "Like I got a choice"-"You always have a choice" Bruce told him from behind Scott "Exactly" Jean agreed "We just want to help you make the right one" Evan sighted and nodded "I will do it"
Bayville, Xavier Institute:
"So, like, where this new guy?" Kitty asked between bites "Still sleeping he had a rather difficult evening" Xavier told her as he poured some juice into his glass, out of nowhere Kurt appeared right next to Logan, Kurt inhaled "Ah, I love the smell of bacon in the morgen!(1)" Scott looked at the professor "what I want to know is why he didn't tell you who really trashed those lockers"-"Sadly he didn't tell me and I'm not going to get into his mind he will tell us when he is ready" Logan shook his head "If you ask me, he is looking to settle that score personally"-"I agree with Logan, he is probably planning on getting revenge" Bruce told them. Logan nodded and looked Jean "Pass me the sausages Red" Jean used her powers to levitate the sausages all the way across were Logan was, Kitty rose an eyebrow at him "You know that stuff, like, totally plugs your arteries" Logan smiled "I appreciate your concern" Charles looked thoughtful "I suspect that you may be right about Evan´s intensions Logan"-"Yeah trust me Chuck, I may not be able to read minds but I know what a boy is thinking when he is wronged" he looked up and quickly glared at Kurt who was hanging from the lamp trying to reach a plate of pancakes "Elf! How many times do I have to tell you, just ask and it will get passed to you" Logan told him annoyed, Kurt smiled sheepishly and transported back to his seat "Sorry I didn't want to interrupt you" Logan passed him the pancakes "In any case I think it would be better if Evan had other things to distract his mind, I already enrolled him in Bayville high, Scott I was wondering if you could please introduce him to the basketball coach?"-"Sure after that last game in new York, the coach will jump at him"-"Good, now let just hope that Evan´s desire for vengeance is short lived" unknown to them Evan had listened what they were saying from the stairs, his determination to bring Pietro down grew even stronger.
Bayville high:
Miss. Darkholme´s secretary looked warily at the group of teens in front of the director's office, at first sight they looked like the usual trouble makers, the rebellious boy, the Goth girl, the boy that no one could stand and the big bully, but to her the teens looked as if they were guarding the door, after all they were principal Darkholme´s favorites for some odd reason. She shook her head and decided that it didn't concern her.
"I'm honored that you had come" Mystique told her boss "I'm not here for your little student meeting Mystique" a tall figure surrounded in darkness told her "Behold" he said as he pulled a small hologram "Ah so this is the speed demon I have been hearing about"-"His name is Pietro Maximoff , he is of particular interest to me, I have waited for the right moment to approach this young man and now is the time" Mystique smiled "The we should extend the hand of friendship to this young man" Magneto shook his head "It would not be that easy, he believes he needs no one, however there may be a way" with a movement of his hand a new image appeared "Young Pietro always had a rivalry against young Daniels"-"That's the new student enrolled here last week!" Magneto nodded once more "Yes, Pietro has recently gained the advantage of that competition and I believe that Mr. Daniels would like to settle the score" Mystique nodded "Well I know just how to bring them together"- "Excellent, then I will take it from there" Magneto waved his hand and the images of both mutants disappeared "I also would like to talk about your new addition"-"Fred the blob?" Magneto ignored her "He has green skin" Mystique looked down "I just thought he could be useful" Magneto nodded "Yes he might be useful but remember Mystique, you should have told me about him first; this isn't some troubled teenager that you can fool easily, he is killer and a powerful mutant he would be better suited for a team I plan to make, but for now he will stay with you" Mystique nodded "Until we see each other again Raven" when Mystique turned he had already disappeared, she let out the breath she didn't know she had been holding, she shook her head and started to work on a way to bring young Maximoff to Bayville.
Danger Room:
"This is your third time doing this spike you want to take a break" Scott told the new student as he watched him catch his breath "No, you brought me here to train and that´s what I'm going to do" Wolverine smirked "You heard the man lets go" Evan started running trough the complex and was suddenly attacked from different angles, Jean threw some rubber balls at him which he barely avoided, he grew some spikes and blocked them. Scott touched his visor shooting lasers after him, making sure not to damage the younger teen. Evan tripped and fell hitting the floor hard "Crap I failed" he muttered before getting up "Not bad porcupine" he looked up to see Wolverine holding his hand out "In just a couple of days you have started to improve" Evan took his hand and smiled in thanks. "Evan the couch called, he says that you have to go to the gym there is a game tonight" Kitty called from the door of the danger room. "There wasn't one on the schedule"-"Well apparently there is now, the couch said principle Darkholme put it together at last minute oh and you won't believe this you are going against your old school" Evan's eyes widened at that, the gears inside his head started moving, he could finally get back at Pietro "Dude, you have to play against you old pals, zhats is so wrong" Kurt told him. Scott and Jean frowned knowing that Evan would probably want his sweet revenge against Pietro.
Bayville high:
A bus stopped right in front of the school, students left the bus quickly happy not to be in the bus they had spent a long ride inside, the last one to exit was a white haired youngster, he had a frown in his face "Why do I have to be in this miserable place I got better things to do" he muttered under his breath, he looked around. Look at all these pathetic people none of them where worthy of his time. That was until he heard a familiar voice behind him "Hey Maximoff!" ah good old Evan "Well, well out of jail already or is this miserable dump part of your punishment" Pietro smirked at him, Evan was fuming with rage "We have a score to settle" he tried to grab him but Pietro wasn't there anymore. Evan was once again pushed from behind by Pietro "As usual, you´re too slow, but props for the attitude there might be hope for you after all, Daniels" Pietro nearly jumped when he felt a hand in his shoulder one he quickly removed "What´s going on here?" it was Scott looking at Pietro disapprovingly "Nothing I can't handle" Evan growled at him "Isn't this the guy who trashed the lockers?" Jean asked "Stay out of this" Evan glared at his friends, Bruce who was close looked at them and shook his head the kid really needed to get over his grudge, but he had other things to take care of right now. He felt someone out a gun in the back of his head "Don't move" Bruce did as he said already suspecting who it was "The kid named Evan Daniels, where is he?"-"how should I know where he is?"-"You live with him at that mansion just outside the town" someone had done his homework "I really don't know" The punisher groaned "Look kid I don't have time for…"-"Actually yeah, I trashed those locker, what you´re going to something about it" Pietro´s loud voice cut him off "I think you should come with us" Scott tried to grab him, but he was grabbed and kneed in the stomach "I don't think so" The Punisher´s eyes narrowed when he saw Evan in that group "That´s it Pietro you´re going down!" he threw a spike at him but Pietro avoided it with ease "huh, sounds like a challenge, come on Daniels let´s see what you got" Pietro ran at super speed, leaving nothing but dust behind him "Trust me man you´re going to find out!" Scott looked awed at where Pietro was "Man, he is really fast"-"We can't let Evan do this alone" Jean told him snapping him out of his trance, they heard the sound of an engine behind him and managed to get run over by a motorcycle "Hey what's the big idea!" Scott yelled at him "That´s the vigilante, he is going after Evan and the other kid" Bruce told them as he got close "You go and help Evan I will deal with Punisher, but I just need one thing from you: don't even think about trying to help me you might get hurt" Bruce turned on his heel and went to change into his costume, Jean and Scott looked at each other "We better follow Evan"
"Give it up Daniels you´re out of your league" Pietro taunted his nemesis from a safe distance "Not this time Pietro, it´s time I win" Pietro suddenly stopped and punched Evan in the face making him hit the ground "You called this a challenge? You can't even touch me, check this out spike boy, say bye to Bayville" Pietro disappeared and Evan was about to pursue him when a motorcycle stopped right in front of him "You! You´re the man who attacked me and my parents!" The Punisher took out his gun "I would say that I'm sorry about doing this, but I'm not sorry freak" Evan closed his eyes waiting for his life to end, but he heard the Punisher grunt in pain, the Punisher had been punched in the face by Batman "Leave the kid alone" The Punisher shot at him but Batman avoided the gun and grabbed the hand of his opponent , making the Punisher drop his gun "You don't want to mess with me bat"-"I will not let you hurt the innocent" Evan sneaked away only to find Pietro wrecking havoc; running so fast he was shattering the windows of the cars, Jean and Scott looked at the disaster "We have to stop him"-"I tried he´s just too fast, I thought all that training stuff would help"-"Training is just a part of it Spike teamwork is the other" Quicksilver passed running besides them, making them stumble back by the strong force of the wind "Jean he can't run if his feet aren't on the ground!"-"On it!" Pietro felt himself being lifted; he panicked and started moving faster causing a small tornado around him "I can't hold him!" Pietro laughed at Jean "You should hold something else baby, its twister time!" he started moving faster duplicating the force of his tornado, the teens started to get sucked in, they tried desperately to grab something. Scott looked at the tornado and let out a beam of his laser hitting Pietro square in the chest making him stop, Spike saw his chance and threw spikes around him making sure that he could move an inch "I can't get loose!" Quicksilver cried in panic "Not so fast now huh Quicksilver?" Pietro glared at his rival "Like this would help you Evan, you still can't prove that I was the one that got you in trouble"-"Sounds like a challenge" Evan mimicked him and took out his phone "Actually yeah, I trashed those locker, what you´re going to something about it"-"You recorded that!" Evan nodded smugly; Scott put a hand in Evan´s shoulder "Nice one, it looks like some of that training really paid off" they heard the police sirens and decided it was best to leave Pietro to face the consequences "Hey let me go!" They heard Pietro yell after them. Jean sighted once they were out of harm's way but panicked once more as she sensed Bruce and another person, both of them were fighting and one had no problem with killing the other.
Batman barely avoided getting stabbed by a knife that the punisher threw at him, he had some many ammunition and weapons hidden on his robes it was ridiculous "You´re putting up a good fight, but you´re going down anyways"-"You fight like a coward, without your weapons you´re nothing" Batman replied and punched him on the stomach, the Punisher looked at him "If that´s what you want, I would break your bones with my bare hands!" he threw himself on top of Batman and started to beat him up. Batman pushed him away and started to counter attack his every move, both couldn't land a punch on the opponent, Frank´s military training and Batman´s skills where evenly matched. Batman kicked him, but the Punisher recuperated quickly and punched Batman on the chin. Both of them were bleeding by now and where badly sore "Why are you even helping him, you appear to be human, he´s not like you and me"-"I made a promise to protect all the people that needed me, no matter who or how they were; and I plan to keep that promise" Batman grappled and disappeared into the shadows, The Punisher growled and started to shoot at random "You can't attack what you can't see" He turned around and shot, it felt like if he was right behind him. Batman dropped on top of him crushing him with his weight, the Punisher groaned in pain and tried to get up, but Batman Punched him in the face "Stay down" the Punisher glared at him, but Batman actually lowered himself to look at him at the eye "I know why you´re doing this, I know why you pursued this boy, you lost your family to someone like him" Frank tensed "How do you know that?"-"I hacked into the police station and found out that you family was killed by someone who hasn't been identified to this day, your family was killed by someone with special abilities, a mutant" Frank glared at him "The you know that he needs to be stopped"-"No, think about it, just because a person made a crime it doesn't mean that all the people are bad, and he is just like you and me slightly different DNA but he didn't chose to be born like that"-"How can I trust that they won't hurt anyone"-"I will keep an eye on him" Frank chuckled "From one vigilante to another vigilante, I think you are not making a bad job" Batman nodded and let go of him "Promise me you´ll never return" Frank nodded "I promise"-"The leave now before the Police arrives and remember that if you lie to me I will hunt you down" the Punisher looked at where he was but he had already disappeared "show off"
"Hey let me out!" Pietro yelled to the guard who was ignoring him "I swear I didn't do any of those things!" The guard shot him an annoyed look "Shut up kid" suddenly the bars of Pietro´s cell started to shake and the guard was hit in the back of the head by a metal bar "You?" Pietro looked down ashamed that he had found him in this situation, what a way to impress him "It is good to see you again Pietro even under such… distressing circumstances"-"Well you can make them less distressing, come on I know you can move this, pleasepleaseplease"-"Still impatient, but you have grown much Pietro and I'm in need of your services that is of curse… if you think you can handle the job" Pietro smiled "Sound like a challenge, ok I'll do whatever you want but let's bail this jail"-"Very well" Magneto moved his hand and without effort broke the jail "Come with me" Pietro nodded and did as he was told, he smiled Evan and his friends where so done, he was out once more and he would make sure to make them pay.

Well there you have it, I finished speed and spike and this is officially the longest chapter I have ever written, but I'm sure I can break make record next chapter, I really hope that you guys liked it. I was thinking, do you wanted some character from the justice league to join the gang and if so: who would you want?
