Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or 6teen.
Amelie was a patient girl. She developed such nature from the number of boys hungrily following her and the girls who would praise her hypocritically while spreading rumors behind her back. It was a price for her beauty, and she was slowly learning to live with it. Thankfully not everyone bothered her.
Today, she figured she'd leave for school early and grab a seat. Get some time to herself before the next boy rush. The teachers didn't mind, and the school hallways were eerily quiet. It was an almost pleasant experience.
To her surprise, that was ruined when she accidentally bumped into Danny, who was just as surprised as her. Their eyes looked into each other for a moment as bark blue met light blue, surprise and annoyance met nervousness.
Danny now had a chance to look at Amelie, not surrounded by boys. It was breathtaking, but the moment was interrupted, somewhat, as the ghost boy felt how close he was. Her ample chest, one of the main reasons for her popularity, was pushed against his. He stuttered as he rapidly got up with a brighter blush.
The French girl sighed as she awaited the boy to either ask her out or pester her. But instead, all she got was a hand extended to her with a calm face.
"S-Sorry aboo—about that," Danny stuttered, keeping things together as best he could. "I didn't think anyone would be here."
"That is...as you say, Ok," Amelie replied, taking the hand.
As soon as she got up, Danny let go and did a most unexpected action.
"Anyway, I'll leave you alone," Danny said, walking away. He didn't want to press his luck any further. If anyone saw them, Dash and the other jocks wouldn't leave him alone as soon as they got wind.
He couldn't lie, Amelie was beautiful. Hot would be the word he'd use. She had a face and body most guys thought only existed in comics. And despite being much taller than the boy, he found her to be lighter than he thought. He considered talking about a girl's weight was taboo or at least something you never talk about. The boy never thought why.
Amelie watched as the boy walked away without staring like a dog at her or her breasts. It was a rather odd yet refreshing experience, especially since the jocks have surrounded her all week with the nerds and geeks watching from afar. For some reason, the girl followed the boy, but he disappeared around the corner.
That was a few days ago. Since then, Amelie has been curious about the boy. She didn't get a chance to see him, which wasn't just because of the boys. She only had a clear view during lunch, especially if Tetslaff had to break things up again. The coach was starting to appear more, acting as a chaperone.
These were the few time Amelie could see Danny. And from what she could tell, he was somewhat unique. Sure he eyed her at their last and only encounter, but he left without the usual habits boys showed when alone with her, like asking her out on a date at least.
Of course, she didn't give her full attention to him. That was for studying. She had more than just homework to do. She picked up more English as the days went by. It became a necessity as more students kept using words and phrases unfamiliar to her.
"How's it hanging, girl?"
"Wazzup?"
"Hey wanna chill at the Nasty Burger?"
"You are lit girl!"
The slang seemed to keep growing, something Lancer condoned. The teacher was not happy most of the students spoke in slang, saying there was a need to talk in the vernacular of the English language.
Sadly, that was lost on the jocks, who barely paid attention, to begin with.
Amelie found herself asking Lancer about English more often. The study time helped, but she still had much to learn. Good thing it was still in the first month of the program. She was enjoying her time despite some bumps in the road.
Amity Park was quite the nice place: and she found some folks, like their mayor, charming.
But her mind went back to Danny. Yes, the boy did give a glance at her chest, but he left after helping her up. It was a confusing action. Most guys just stare, compliment, and follow.
She decided to talk to the boy himself, a situation she found herself in a few days later when she saw him in the hallway, talking to some students.
"Excusez moi, but I'm curious," Amelie walked over to the boy. "Who are you?"
The students of Casper High gasped as Amelie talked to Danny Fenton. The boy in question look
"Oh, I'm Danny. Danny—"
"Beat it, Fenturd!" Dash growled, knocking the boy down. "A loser like you has no right to talk to babes! Especially this one!"
Dusting off his hands, the jock turned to Amelie, relishing the chance of being alone with her. Well, Danny was there too, but he was ignored. Not to mention the surrounding students. The blonde boy gave a suave, arrogant smile as he leaned up at the French girl.
"So, Amelie," he started, mispronouncing her name like the first time. "You never told me how awesome you think quarterbacks are."
The girl rolled her eyes. She had only known the jock for a few days, and she was already sick of him. Out of all the boys in Casper High that hounded her, he was the worst. He enforced the jocks to push back everyone as he talked to her first. He'd spend that talking about how amazing he is supposed to be, but all Amelie ever saw was an annoying jerk.
Needless to say, she avoided him when she could.
However, it was apparent none of this seemed to reach the football player. Evident as he leaned up more.
"So, how awesome are quarterbacks that you'd date one?" Dash asked.
The week wasn't over, yet hearing that similarity or line already angered the girl. So, the French girl decided she had enough of Dash's idiotic dribble and walked over to help Danny up.
The quarterback was stunned as he watched the hot girl walk past him towards the boy he beat down.
"Are you...alright?" Amelie asked, making sure she said that correctly.
Danny looked up to see the French girl staring at him. His light blue eyes reflected in her dark blue. Blushing, the ghost boy got up with the help of the lockers.
"I'm fine. Don't worry," Danny replied, brushing the hand away. Her touch was warm, but Dash's fist was cold.
"Hey, Fentoastski! What do you think your doing touching her?"
Once again, Danny greeted the floor face first. While he had dealt with Dash for years, that never meant he'd ever get used to such treatment. If it weren't for the teachers and staff that favored him and the popular kids, he'd never see a day without detention.
Of course, with his abysmal win record so far this year, that favoritism was slowly going down the drain, like his glory days. So hey, silver lining...for now.
"Seriously!? When do you idiots learn?" Dash snorted before growling. "Stay down."
"What is wrong with you?!" Amelie spoke loudly. "He did nothing wrong! All he did was talk to me!"
"B-but you're hot!" Dash exclaimed in surprise like it was the most obvious thing in the world. It was true, but he meant something more social hierarchical.
"And you are, as you say here, a jerk!" Amelie growled back.
The bully blinked. He was never rejected by such an attractive girl before, and it aggravated him. Dash Baxter was the quarterback and king of Casper High. No girl would ignore him, though most didn't agree to go out with him.
"But...you're hot and talking to a loser of ghost hunting freaks!"
Amelie rolled her eyes. Dash's logic was...well, just hierarchical mumbo jumbo. She turned back to the ghost boy, but he was gone.
So she tried the next day, which was slightly tense.
Dash had been hogging Amelie's free time to himself, and the rest of the football team had enough of it. The teammates cornered the quarterback during the break after PE when he'd be tired out.
"Kwan, I'm only gonna tell you once, BACK OFF!" Dash ordered. He was facing Kwan with Dale behind the latter's back; the two football players weren't going to talk peacefully, it seemed.
"You hog Amelie for yourself," Kwan retorted. "It's time we have a shot!"
The jocks growled and stared at each other like circling dogs. They were waiting for the first to throw a punch. It was funny to some passing students as some from the nerd clique filmed it on their phones.
With the jocks distracted with each other and the other boys were watching. Amelie took the time to talk to Danny again. The boy was passing by, unable to resist the idea of the football team beating each other up. Sam and Tucker were with him, the latter holding out his PDA to film the event.
No one would bother the French girl, but someone was watching with patience.
"Excusez moi," Amelie said, walking up to the ghost boy.
Danny glanced to the side, seeing the hot French girl. He looked to his right. Sam and Tucker noticed this, seeing how Amelie was talking to Danny. Tucker was very jealous as the girl walked over, wondering what his friend did to get her attention. Sam, just as jealous, just glared as she kept watch. The moment the girl gave any indication of overstepping a boundary, she'd take action.
Even if it meant getting into trouble.
"I'm sorry but, are you talking to me?" Danny asked, pointing to himself.
"Who else would I be talking to?"
"How about the other students by his side?" Sam snarked.
"Like me! The name's Tucker Foley! That's TF as in too fine!" Tucker jumped in. He gestured with his hands before leaning on the lockers. He fell to the ground quickly after speaking.
Amelie rolled her eyes, not surprised the boy decided to flirt first. She noticed Danny was quiet and reserved. He maintained eye contact even though it seemed straining, but his eyes he'd nervousness. It was like something terrible might happen.
"So...uh, pardon me, but I never got your name."
Danny was astonished. The now hottest girl in school was asking for his name. If he wasn't more interested in how he'd find himself spending more time with the bullies, he'd have answered right away. He tried to say otherwise, but his hormones wouldn't let his brain process anything as he came to notice how he was keeping eye contact with the girl.
But this was not to last forever. While Amelie stared into Danny's eyes, she did not notice the blue wisp that escaped his mouth.
But Sam and Tucker did. The trio shared a gasp as they knew what was next. The sound of a young girl screaming filled the hallways as everyone looked to the end.
There was a ghost.
Danny meets Amelie and seems to have left a good impression, if not a curious one. Now it seems he's on her radar. Too bad life isn't fair as distractions come. And by distractions, I mean the lemons and punches life gives. Hope you enjoyed. No clue when the next will be out as I work on my other stories.
Reviews:
Invader Johnny: Beauty is a gift and a curse. It depends on the situation. But things will get better as she talks to Danny, but not exactly for him.
Dreams Come True 996: Thanks!
RonaldM40196867: I see. My apologies, I won't argue with that. Which 6teen girl? Well, we both know Jen is ideal for Danny. Tucker...maybe after some humility lessons.
Jebest4781: I'll have to see about defense classes or anything similar. While martial arts is great, it won't do much with only months of training. As for Dash, he first has to cross the line before he can fall, granted his bullying is terrible. But your idea is interesting. I'll look into it.
Luiz4200: Not really. Maybe in a later chapter, but that episode hasn't occurred yet. Amelie hasn't been to Canada yet.
KorevainsoLightshire: Thanks! Interesting note on Sam and Paulina.
Guest: Wrong fanfic. Please do not post anything meant for my other stories here or ask about updates. It's very demotivating.
pokemon fan 1991: Mostly stuttering.
