It took a bit to round up all the loose villains, but it wasn't far too difficult. Izuku had given Dimentio permission to stay in the guest room with Olly. The first day he brought Dimentio home with him after Piper's death, the Police came to Izuku's apartment. Izuku answered the door and was shocked to find the Police Chief standing outside his door.
"Is this the Midoriya residence?"
"Y-yes. What's wrong? Why are you here?"
"We heard you had a villain with you. I've come to take him to prison with the others."
Izuku allowed him entry. "Let me say something first."
"Alright. Go ahead."
"The villain? He promised he would change, and I promised I would help him do so. Give us until the end of September, please. If he hasn't improved by then, you can take him. But if he has, let him go, okay? Please?"
"I think I can arrange that. Let me talk this over with your mother and father first and we'll see from there."
"I already said it was okay," Inko said, entering the room. "Do you want to talk to the villain? I'm not sure if he'll want to, but maybe you can explain that you gave him a chance."
"Sure. Wanted to give him something anyways."
"I'll go get him," Izuku offered.
He walked into the guest room. Olly was reading on his bed, Izuku noticing the round reading glasses he was wearing. Dimentio was sitting cross-legged on the ground, whittling himself a new mask from a log Izuku had given him permission to use. Dimentio had recovered his hat and remaining part of his earring, both of which were resting on the desk Olly had folded for his own use, but allowed Dimentio to use as well.
"Dimentio, I think you'll like this book," Olly said.
"Really? I'm not much of a reader." He tested the mask by holding in front of his face. "Still not wide enough."
"It's about a rich girl. She runs away because her family was treating her badly. She meets a man who helps her face her family. She may end up taking his hand in marriage...The twist is that the man is a generally emotional person, and also a cyclops! It has a big plot twist I wasn't expecting too!"
"Was it about the cyclops, because you just spoiled that for everybody." Izuku saw Dimentio glance his way. "Hold that thought." He brushed wood shreds off his lap. "What is it, Izuku?"
Izuku could only understand the question. "Somebody wants to talk to you."
Dimentio sighed. "Okay, fine." He tossed the mask at Olly's head. "I'm coming."
He followed Izuku into the Living room.
"Here he is," Izuku said.
"Oh s*&^, it's the Popo." He turned to leave. "I'm out."
"I'm not going to arrest you, yet. Izuku told me about his idea and I agree with it. If you can redeem yourself, you're free to go. But to prevent you from running off on a crime spree or something crazy-"
"Shoot," Dimentio muttered.
"-You'll have to wear this for a while."
"Wear what?" The Police Chief clamped a band around his ankle. He looked down at it. "What in Grambi's name is this?"
"You can't go anywhere without somebody else with you. This is basically like a house arrest, but you can leave the house as long as you have somebody with you."
"Adding insult to injury. Nice touch." He crossed his arms and huffed. He bent down and tried to force it off. It didn't budge.
"We took into account your powers and abilities, so your Quirk can't save you this time."
"I look stupid with this thing on."
"It's only until the end of this month. We'll remove it then. In the meantime, Izuku here will be helping you become a better person. Who knows, maybe you'll even become a Pro Hero."
"Don't say that...Please don't say that..."
The Police Chief adjusted his hat. "Well, I did what I came here to do, so I best be on my way. Have a good day, Miss Midoriya."
She gave him a bow. "You too."
He left. Izuku panicked for a second when Dimentio was no longer in the Living Room, but calmed down when he saw he was in the Kitchen. Izuku entered to find Dimentio attempting to use a knife to free his ankle. The blade snapped. Olly came into the Kitchen as Dimentio was stabbing at the anklet with the busted knife.
"You just broke one of our knives," Izuku moaned.
Dimentio dropped the handle of the knife. "I'm stuck with this, aren't I?"
Olly held out the mask. "You threw this at my head. I thought you might want it back."
Dimentio snatched it from him.
"You want it off, right?" Izuku asked.
"Yes. You know how to get it off, don't you?"
"Yup. To get it off, you need to become a hero!"
"I'd rather die, thanks."
"Aw, no need to be so dramatic, Dimentio," Olly said. "It's not too bad, being a better version of yourself. It really is pleasant. You should trust me on this."
"You have the heart of a wet noodle."
Olly blinked twice. "Uh...What do you mean by that, Dimentio?"
"Your heart is as weak as those arms."
"I'm paper! I don't have muscle!"
Dimentio rose. "And I can't use my powers to get it off, which sucks."
Izuku smiled. "And as promised, I will be your guide to redemption!"
"A Redeemer!" Olly exclaimed joyfully.
Izuku nodded. "Alright, I have a fifteen-step plan for your full redemption, no loopholes, no special 'rules.' Just perfect, heroic attitude."
Dimentio's jaw dropped. "F-fifteen? I'm fine with like, one or two! But fifteen?!"
"Yup!" Izuku pulled out a sheet of paper. He unfolded it and the paper extended to the ground. "Step one," Izuku read, "fixing that bad attitude of yours. Once you're willing to cooperate, you can become better, faster."
"I'm living in a nightmare..."
"I got a lot of information from Olly-"
"You traitor."
"-And found out you're stuck in a mix of anger and depression. If we can help nudge you into acceptance then-"
"You think I'm going through the five stages of grief?!"
"Well, it makes sense. You jumped straight to depression when your mom died, and losing your friends pushed you back a bit. We just need to help you finish the cycle. You'll feel a thousand times better afterwards."
"Oh, shut up!" Dimentio grabbed his collar. "You can complain about me all you want, but I'm never going to become a 'hero' if my life depended on it!"
"Mimi said she'll be good or bad, as long as she gets money from it," Olly mentioned. "If she finds out that you aren't going to change, she might leave you behind. Like you did to Piper. I don't think you want to become what she did, do you? You already started heading that way. It's only a matter of time before you become a monster like her."
Dimentio released Izuku. "I-I..."
"I thought so. Now, I suggest you listen to Izuku. He knows what he's doing." He smiled.
Izuku eyed Dimentio's black and yellow hair. "Your roots are white. If they're coming in, that means you might have to re-dye your hair People might confuse you for an old man if they see your hair."
"...What? M-my hair..."
Izuku nodded. "Nobody has white hair unless it's related to their Quirk. Like Todoroki. And your Quirk has nothing to do with your hair. Right? Wait, is this rude? I'm so sorry! I just thought you didn't like your hair which is why you dyed and straightened it! I just thought you'd like to know that it needs to be fixed, is all!"
Dimentio ran his fingers through his hair. "...Old...?"
"Are you okay?"
"I-I want to go to the store."
"Huh?"
"I can't go anywhere without somebody else with me...I need to grab some dye..."
"Oh! Right!" I'll go put on my shoes." Izuku hurried off.
Olly smiled. "You can do this, and I know it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have spared you. I can sense a hint of light inside of you, just like how I get the smallest hint of darkness inside of Olive. Yin and Yang. In kindness, there's evil, and in evil, there's kindness."
Dimentio's stance loosened a bit. "Hm...Thanks, I guess."
"Of course! Now, I'm going off to the Museum again so I can see that wonderful woman. Hopefully, her boyfriend isn't here this time. His energy is too corrupt to trust." Olly started out before stopping. "Oh, and Dimentio?"
"Hm?"
"You should try taking your hair down sometime. I bet that ponytail will give you a headache eventually. Plus, I think it'll look nice. Maybe I should try wearing my hair up for once..."
"Just leave already."
"See you around." He waved as he exited.
Dimentio waved pathetically back.
