The next day was a Saturday. Olly and Olivia returned to their home to celebrate the Origami Craftsman's birthday. Olivia had drawn him a sloppy picture of himself that she tried really hard on with the caption 'You're the best!' under it.
Olly had made a model of the Origami Craftsman's home, which was shaped like a green mushroom, with his creepy origami basement and everything. A banner Izuku added on the front read 'Happy birthday' and Dimentio suggested adding the twins and their father into it. Izuku had also given him a phone using the money he was saving and his phone number so he could update Izuku on the Origami Craftsman's reaction to the gift.
Izuku was pouring himself a bowl of cereal when his phone began to ring somewhere in the house. The carton almost slipped from his grasp when Dimentio laughed at his ringtone: a voiceover of All Might's 'A phone call is here!'
Izuku scrambled into his room as Dimentio took the carton from him. He grabbed his phone off his bed and looked at the caller. It was Olive, which was odd knowing he specifically told Izuku he disliked phone calls. He said he felt uncomfortable because he couldn't see their face, which Izuku took as a reasonable answer.
Izuku answered it, walking back into the kitchen. "Izuku Midoriya. What's up?"
"Izuku...We need to talk, now."
"Can you wait for a while? I'm trying to eat breakfast and I'm still in my jammies." He glanced at Dimentio, who quickly looked away from him when he made eye contact.
"No. This is too important. I'm sorry to do this to you while you're still in your jammies but you need to come over to Ida's house now. I'm currently strapped down and Ida is holding the phone for me. And we need to end this call quick because his arm is getting tired."
"He must still be tired too."
"We all are. I woke up at five because of the pain...Ida woke up at around six because of me."
Izuku sighed. "Can I at least eat first?"
Olive sighed. "I guess...Can you be here in at least an hour?"
"Yeah. I'll be there as quick as I can."
Olive ended the call and Izuku happily sat down with his cereal. Dimentio sat next to him, also with a bowl of cereal.
"So, I suppose it is just us...?"
"Yeah. Mom left earlier to hang out with some of her friends at an art fair."
"So what was that call about...?"
"Olive wants me to come over in no more than an hour. He mentioned something about being strapped down? I think? I'm still tired."
They ate breakfast in silence for a moment. Dimentio had finished his breakfast before Izuku.
"Ahh...I wonder why I have never eaten dairy before..."
"You've never had milk? Do you think there could be a reason why?"
"I do not think so...otherwise I would remember...One world had no such thing as dairy..."
"Huh. Weird." Izuku scarfed down the rest of his breakfast and went to go change.
He chose his flannel shirt and jeans. When he finished and exited his room, Dimentio was nowhere to be found.
"Dimentio?" He looked around the Living Room. "Maybe he went to do something. It's hard to tell with him." He shrugged it off and exited the house.
He had to walk since his mom was using the car, so he decided to jog there. It was a nice fall day outside. When he finally got to Ida's house, he heard a scream and something crash. He hurried inside.
"Ida? Are you okay? What was that sound?!" He went up to Tenya's room.
He and his brother, Tensei Ida, were holding out brooms towards Olive, who was strapped to a dolly by Sero's tape. Sero was also standing in the room, off to the side.
"What happened? I heard a scream!"
"Oh! Hello Midoriya!" Tensei waved, loosening his tense stance.
"Ah, Midoriya!" Tenya walked over. "You see, Olive has been acting strange all morning after he woke me up with his screams of pain."
"Is he okay?"
"Midoriya!" He wobbled side to side on the dolly, forcing himself to face him. He had three arms, the third one matching one of the lower arms the Chaos Heart Entity had tore from Olive's body. "Getting rid of the Chaos Heart didn't work...I can turn into that monster at any moment. Thankfully, Ida heard me and made sure to use a nearly indestructible Quirk to hold me down in case if it...comes back."
"No wonder you wanted me to come over so fast! I'm sorry! I just needed some time to wake up."
"Did you bring Dimentio, by chance? He might know what to do in this case."
"No. I couldn't find him. I thought he had already come over though, he seemed a little worried about you. I could tell, even if he didn't show it."
"Seems like he's going soft." Olive joked, smiling. He sparked.
"Let usss out, you little sssponge," the third arm hissed.
"That's new."
"We don't know what's going on with your friend, so I was hoping Dimentio could help," Tensei explained.
"He did have the Chaos Heart for years," Izuku agreed. "But I couldn't find him anywhere before I left. I'm actually a little worried for him. It's not like him to just vanish like that, is it?"
"Could you bring Olly, by chance?" Tenya asked. "He seems to know a lot about dark magic."
Izuku sadly shook his head. "No can do. He and Olivia are back in the Mushroom Kingdom. It's their dad's birthday today."
"How preciousss," it replied snarkily. "They think he caresss about them..."
"Shut up, you parasite!" Olive squirmed, hoping to injure the third arm in some way, but he could not loose Sero's binding.
"Oh yeah, they called me over because he broke out of everything else," Sero explained.
"It ssseemsss all nice until he diesss and then they will have nobody to turn to...They will be killed by their own idiocracy...And it will pleasssse usss..."
Olive screamed and kicked around. "Stop! You better shut up before I tear you off myself!"
"Yesss...Feed off your anger...We will be unssstopable..."
Tensei smacked the arm with the broom, making it go silent. He sighed. "We have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?"
Izuku prepared to answer when the front door opened and they all peeked out the door. They watched Dimentio float to the room.
"Izuku vanished on me...Where is Olive, anyhow...?"
"Kill him..."
"That I will gladly do!"
He tried to lunge at Dimentio, forgetting he was tied up and fell over in the dolly. Dimentio had flinched and hid behind Izuku. When everybody looked his way, he blushed over his mask and shoved Izuku aside. Sero picked Olive back up, the android coming across as sad rather than enraged.
"What am I thinking...? You're my friend, even if that is hard to accept. I would never hurt you, evil or not."
Dimentio examined the third arm. "Hm...The Chaos Heart Entity had that arm...But it should not be alive if Queen Jaydes and her husband destroyed the Chaos Heart...And I know they did, because you cannot be 'late' for judging people's souls...The time there lasts an eternity so that could take as long as necessary. The Chaos Heart however, that must be dealt with right away...So how is it doing this...?"
Olive's eyes turned green, then the black liquid dripped from the bottoms. Dimentio backed away; Izuku could tell he was scared, but had no idea why he feared the Chaos heart Entity over the actual Chaos Heart.
"Idiot! We are the boy...Once our damage has been done, it lasts for eternity! Why else do you think we were wanted by the vile people of your world...?" Olive sparked. "Get out of my head..."
"The Chaos Heart Entity is correct...We cannot undo this...But we could help Olive control it..."
"Control us...? That is impossible...! We have been alive for eons and not a single mortal was even half as strong to control us...!" Olive shook his head. "It's right, that's crazy talk. You think some...'average joe' like me has even the slightest chance at controlling this-this...maniac? For once, it actually made sense!"
"We could try...If Queen Jaydes could destroy it, you can control it...If Olly could use his extinct ancestor's powers like it was nothing when she no doubt struggled with it, then you can learn...The only way to tame dark magic is to learn how to control it..."
"Dimentio makes a good point," Tenya agreed. "If you could, hypothetically, control the Chaos Heart Entity, you would become one of the most powerful heroes in the world."
"You make a good point..." Olive considered. "What do you think, Izuku?"
"This is a bad idea! It could kill you! Or worse, take over you again and kill us! Then it might kill you just for fun! I don't know! But this is a completely dumb idea! This is like the Mineta of ideas!"
Dimentio's smile faded at the half-hearted insult. "You have no hope in your dear friend?" He clicked his tounge at Izuku. "How depressing...You do not believe he can do it? You do not believe he can learn just as I have? How sad..."
They all turned their attention to Tensei. "Sorry, but I'm with Midoriya on this one. Things could go pretty wrong. Olive could get hurt, or any of you. And as a hero, I can't let that happen."
"You are all a boorish crowd," Dimentio said, floating closer to Olive. "Consider this, you can give up and let it destroy you from the inside out like Izuku and Tenya's brother are proposing...or..."
"No way!" Izuku interrupted. "If you even try to convince Olive to do that, I will-"
Something slapped onto Izuku's mouth when Dimentio flicked at him, sealing his mouth shut and ending his sentence. He attempted to pull it off, it staying attached and leaving a sort of purple goo on his hands. The only thing he could muster were muffled screams.
"As I was saying..." He turned Olive's head to face him. "Let yourself die...or be able to do things like this..." He teleported a glass into his hand, filled with what Izuku guessed was milk. He took a sip of it. "The choice is yours, of course...I would never force you to do anything...After all, you followed my commands willingly..."
"Hey now, don't talk to him like that," Tensei said sternly. "Pressuring him to do something is incredibly rude, especially if he doesn't want to do it!"
Dimentio shut him up too. "The timer is running low, Olive...I know you cannot keep it back forever..."
"You do make a good point but what if Izuku's right? What if it does kill me?"
"Either way...it will be unable to harm the people you care about-"
"Stop that!" Tenya ordered. "Stop talking to him that w-" He tried to block his mouth, resulting with his hands getting stuck to his face.
"Anybody want to interrupt me?"
"Yeah!" Sero said. "You're manipulating him into taking your side! You haven't changed at all!"
He attempted to use his Quirk on Dimentio, who brought up a portal and wrapped Sero in his own bindings. He also sealed his mouth shut. He faced back to Olive.
"Tick tock, Ducky...Do you really want to waste your time letting the Chaos Heart Entity return? It seems like you are loosing this battle..." He motioned a hand towards a fourth arm still in the process of trying to tear itself from Olive's body, but being held in place by Sero's tape.
Olive looked at Izuku, who shook his head while trying to get the slimy substance off his mouth. "I don't want them to get hurt...And Tenya makes a good point...The staff of UA doesn't know I'm Quirkless and with the Chaos Heart Entity under my control will work as a Quirk...Right?"
"Of course it can...if you want it to. You have no need to go to UA with the rest of those inexperienced want-to-bes..."
Olive looked back to Izuku, who was back to shaking his head. "Izuku, I'm sorry, but this seems like the right decision. Maybe I'll take your advice next time, okay?"
"Perfect," Dimentio grinned.
He snapped and Izuku inhaled harshly through his mouth. He wiped the residue on his hands off on his pants. "Dimentio, are you crazy?! Why would you talk him into that sort of thing?! Do you really want him to turn out like you?!"
"Izuku, this is for his safety! If he can control the Chaos Heart, then I will know that he can be of good use to me..."
"Use?"
Dimentio faced back to Olive. "What? You thought I really care about you? You are an android, a tool made for destruction...Why else do you think the Chaos Heart was able to nest inside of you?"
Olive looked mad, and scared. "You...lied to me? Again?"
"I had to make sure you would agree...I know how your kind is, and I know the only way to get you to listen would be to trick you..."
"You're evil!" Sero said, still wrapped up on the ground. Tenya and Tensei were attempting to free him from his sticky prison. "You haven't changed at all!"
"No...I suppose I have not...But that's the price you pay for trusting a villian..."
"You filthy liar..." Olive growled, multivoiced. "I can't believe I trusted you...!"
He pulled himself off of the dolly, tearing the tape. Dimentio smirked. Olive fully turned to the look of the Chaos Heart Entity, keeping his short height and blue glow. Izuku realized then and there that Dimentio had not truly meant any-or at least not all-of what he had said.
He was doing it to make Olive mad and tap into his power.
"Uh, Dimentio! That's not a good idea!"
"Why not? It seems to have worked just fine!"
Olive punched him into the wall. "Jerk! You idiot, you fool! How dare you hurt me like this?!"
Dimentio peeled himself from the wall. "Alright Izuku, now I see your point...I am no match to the Chaos Heart Entity in my current state..."
Izuku noticed Dimentio was flat now, no more thickness than a sheet of paper. Izuku wondered how Dimentio managed to make himself more three-dimensional, but settled on questioning later.
"Izuku...help me battle him...Please..."
"Oh! Right!"
Izuku tried to punch Olive, but he grabbed his arm and tossed him into Dimentio. Izuku got off of him and saw his paper was crumpled.
"Aah! Dimentio!"
Dimentio fixed his paper and slid off the wall. Olive punched him back into the wall, then hit him a few more times for good measure.
"Learned your lesson yet?!"
Izuku noticed Dimentio didn't look too well.
"Olive...You controlled it, did you not...?"
Izuku knew he couldn't beat Olive like this, so settled on helping Sero so he could bind him down. He flinched when Olive smacked Dimentio further into the wall. He turned to make sure Dimentio was alright.
Olive was completely stiff, not even his breathing visible. Dimentio's head was slumped down, a bit of black dripping from his face. Izuku was worried he died for a moment but calmed down a bit when he looked up.
"S-sorry...Olive..."
Olive pulled his hand off of Dimentio, horrified.
"Olive? Are you okay?" Sero asked on the floor, finally being able to wriggle free.
He screamed and waved his arm around. "What the h#$% is wrong with you?! First you make me mad and now this?!"
Dimentio fell to the ground, so Izuku rushed over and helped him stand. "I told you before...I cannot fight well when I do not feel well..."
"Are you okay? What happened?"
Dimentio wiped off his mask. "You really do not wish to know..."
"Stay away from me! Disgusting!"
Dimentio staggered then floated gently from the floor. "That was on you...But I feel a bit better now...You can always try battling me again..."
"No way!" Olive looked like himself again, no scratches or visible damage from the battle.
Dimentio snapped and the wall fixed. "Alright. We are done here then. We should head home...I still do not feel well..."
On the way home, Izuku couldn't stop thinking about Dimentio mentioning his strings killing Jumpman. How had he done that?
"Um...Do you feel better now that you have some fresh air?"
Dimentio nodded once. "I have never been sick before, believe it or not..."
"Can I ask you about something personal?"
Dimentio stopped. Izuku saw the thin edge of his paper for a split moment when he turned.
"It's about Jumpman..."
"Why do you find a need to know about my past?"
"You said something about strings..."
His expression shifted into fear and he grabbed his chest. "You uh...you heard that...?"
Izuku nodded. "And I know why you freaked out when Olive was taking the Chaos Heart too. You only saw Jumpman's arm, right?"
Dimentio shook his head. "N-no...Do not bring that up again."
"Dimentio, you felt better the first time, right? Talking about this might help you a bit more. I just want to see if I can help comfort you. You can always tell me no and I'll leave you alone, but it'll keep haunting at you until it turns into too much."
"Perhaps you are right...I have kept secrets for far too long...It is time somebody knows the truth...And I trust you, Izuku, and I know you will not tell anybody about this...Please..."
"I promise I won't tell anybody about your past."
Dimentio was silent for a minute. He held up a puppet that looked like a man in his mid-thirties. He had no hair and dressed like a mailman.
"Who's that?" Izuku asked. "Was he unused from your trick game?"
"The truck driver...The one who...the one who drove over him..."
"Take your time."
"After he crashed...they found...they found there was no body...no body except for this...And my strings were attached to him...I did it, Izuku...I made myself insane...I hurt myself...I killed an innocent man...I'm a monster, am I not...? I-I..."
Izuku reached for him, but he moved away from him. "I don't think it's your fault!"
"What...? How could you? The evidence is clear. I did it. Nobody else has black magic like I do. And my black magic can turn people into puppets if I so choose."
"But you only remember waking up in an alleyway that day, right? Nothing else before?"
"No...That was over twenty years past. How could you expect me to remember?"
"The you have no proof that it was you! It could have been somebody else!"
"Then how could they use my abilities? Unless they are directly related to me, there is no w-" He faced away from Izuku. "Unless they are directly related to me..." He turned back, a saddened look in his eyes. "You do not believe it could have been my parents, do you? You do no trust my parents would try to kill me...do you?"
"We could go back there and see if we can find any evidence, but I think that's the only lead we have so far. We should wait until Olly and Olivia come back though. They know their way around the Mushroom Kingdom and the surrounding areas."
"Has the Mushroom Kingdom changed?"
"Unless you've heard of Toad Town, yeah."
"Alright...We can wait...Just do not let that information out. We can tell them it is for your...'History of Heroes' assignment..."
"But there is no History of Heroes assignment...?"
"It is called a white lie, Izuku."
"That's not a white lie! That's just completely false information!"
"Not true...for we are going to learn the history of Jumpman's death...and that would be a hero's history...But you need not to turn anything in to school...That is where the lie is..."
"But the twins might...freak out if we have an 'assignment' they didn't know about."
"Then tell them something! Just do not let them know about me!" He sighed. "Apologies, Izuku...I am a little on edge right now..."
"You're good. Plus, I'm sure they'd be glad to know that you want to go back."
"Yeah...Perhaps..."
