Late... King opened her eyes to the darkened room, with it's only light source emanating from the curtains, a dimly lit blue light... One from the moon.
It was late at night, past the usual chit-chats she and Mai could have before bed.

"A character in my book just died." Mai boldly stated while turning a page like it barely stroke her, "Oh, tragic." King could only say as she was removing her earrings.

Speaking of her, she had King in her grasp and wouldn't let go, she knew without even looking at the clock that Mai wouldn't want to be disturbed, still she went to look at it and saw it's bright light inform her that it's 2:38 AM.

Yeah... Mai is probably sound asleep, dang this sucks.

Mai wrapped her arms around her neck and she looked really cute doing it but King couldn't really be pleased by the situation, she just wanted to go find something to occupy her mind. She gave a very light touch to Mai's elbows and gently tried to lift them to pass over them and leave with success!

King stood from the bed and lightly tapped her foot to the bathroom where she took a cup to clean her drooling mouth.
Gosh, waking up when tired is the worst, even more when you were sleeping well...
She spat down the drink and gave herself a good look in the mirror, her night robe still looked cute, she had it ever since she moved to Southtown, it's probably the only piece of clothing she kept from France.

After enough pondering, she left the bathroom and quietly walked to the hall, trying to think of what she could do in this hotel, at night as well. Suddenly she heard the covers shuffle revealing Mai topless. "King, were you leaving?" She casually asked, as if she forgot the time!

"Shhhhh!" King started, "But Mai? Weren't you sleeping?" she asked feeling a bit silly, "I actually wasn't, I removed my clothes because it was too damn hot! Hope you don't mind babe.~" She winked at her while King could feel relieved, "Ah great, I didn't want to disturb you." King said as she came back to bed, "Were you leaving somewhere?" Mai asked curiously, "No I was trying to think of what I could do while I feel sleepy again." King sat down on her cushion, still pondering, "We can just talk." Mai simply said, laying down.

"Talk about what?" King said, "Hmm, I dunno, stuff." Mai answered.

King layed down as well and now, they were both staring at the ceiling of their hotel room, Mai was breathing calmly but she could hear, it made her heart beat a little louder which she was uncertain why.
"We did pretty well on this King of Fighters tournament." Mai started, turning toward King, "Yeah, I was a bit afraid of the absence of Yuri creating some issues but turns out, we did better without her." King said happily, "Yeah! We both have perfected our techniques a lot more, I've sawn Yuri has a whole new Art of fighting as well!" Mai said with a tired but cheerful tone, "So did Ryo and his pal Robert." King commented and continued, "Kasumi was pretty great as well." "Yeah, I like this girl but she should drop down that tomboy attitude and attach her hair like me!" Mai said standing up, boasting her chest and flailing her hair like a mannequin, King giggled at Mai's extravanganza and tackled her with a hug on her waist, "But honey, you look so good with your hair down." she flirted lovingly, Mai retorted, "Well it can only be sawn by the ones I wish to.~" she layed back down to the bed and they both snuggled for a little while.

Mai asked after a short while, "...Still not sleepy?" King could only tell the truth, "No...".

"Say, have you watched the final when it was airing?" King asked while she was petting her head, "This lady, Chizuru. She looks quite mystic."
"Yes, she is the organiser of the tournament this year." Mai said, giving a serious tone to her voice, "Do you think she used teleportations to do her attacks or was she using clones, she also had this attack, Kyo couldn't use his flames after she hit him with her orb!" King talked about it with such passion that Mai was just listening to her ramble about her observations, "Do you think she stole his powers?" "Perhaps, we could always ask her!" Mai sparked up even though she was falling asleep, "Chizuru? Oh. What?" King said confused. "Yeah! Kasumi is leaving to find her dad right? Let's just take Chizuru for the next King of Fighters." Mai schemed as if it was that easy. "We'd- we would already have to find her." King said looking aside, because she was out of arguments, Mai pondered before going, "Let's just ask the principal actor!".
"Who?" King asked, "Kyo!" Mai answered happily, "Kyo!? Tsk don't be silly, he is nothing but a knucklehead, a real dickhead if you ask me!" King ranted because she got beated by her, "Pah, don't be silly King, we don't need him, just intel." Mai reassured her, knowing how upset that made her.

"...Yeah I suppose you're right. Fine, I'll try to stick a phone call tomorrow." King said before Mai cut her off, "Hey! Why can't I do it?" "You sound too happy go lucky on the phone."
They both laughed loudly with no signs of stopping, tears of joy flowed down and they both wiped them off each others cheek as they were both red.

They both got back under the blanket and stayed there, sleeping the night away, but... Before they left, before sleep takes her away, King had one thing, one thing she wished to ask and she could not, she had to wait before it was right.

"Mai." "Yes, King?" "...If Andy... R-refuses your proposal, the next KoF." Mai looked at her with a look filled of dread, she has shared her plan to propose to Andy before even the second KoF they have done together.

"If he refuses, would you marry me?"

Thud

Mai fell unconscious and off the bed.
