A beautiful waltz played as they danced, Luigi rested his face against the chest of his dance partner. Feeling fuzzy and warm, nothing but contentment in his mind. A cold finger tilted Luigi's chin upwards, and he allowed his partner to chuckle at him as he refused to open his eyes-Luigi was more than comfortable with the way things were, he didn't want to see who his husband was.

Luigi knew that he would have to find out eventually because why wouldn't they reveal themselves to him sooner rather than later? But he just wanted to pretend for a little longer that he had a chance to fall in love…That anyone would want him, want to marry him and he knew Mario would say he was being dramatic and maybe he was but this was something he would never get to experience again and he wasn't about to let go in a hurry.

They stepped away from him, Luigi could hear them circling him…Not saying anything but clearly observing him, waiting perhaps for him to react. If this was King Boo, then where was his cocky attitude and his snarled insults about how Luigi was too weak to save Mario…

"Why marry me? I know that I'm one of Mario's weaknesses but, this seems overly complicated for a villainous plan." They chuckled again and he could feel them at his back, shivering at the hands that wrapped around his middle.

"You almost seem surprised that anyone would want you as their Consort." A shiver slipped down his spine at the words and the puff of breath against his ear. Luigi was kind of surprised anyone would and if this was really King Boo then he was extra confused, they were enemies and there was no reason why Boo would marry him.

"I'm nothing special…I always just thought that I would play Dotting Uncle. Hiding how lonely I was. But you changed it and now I get to be the uncle no one talks about… Forgotten eventually even by you." Because in the long run, he wouldn't be allowed near any children that Mario and Peach might have, he wouldn't be able to do anything about it because he would understand. He was a threat, and no one could trust that he wouldn't be tricked into hurting someone.

Or just simply going dark himself, losing all his morals and attacking of his own accord and really it would burn like the hottest of lava to be labeled a villain because he wouldn't hurt anyone on purpose. It wouldn't have to be.

A hitched breath caught his attention, and he opened his eyes, A ghostly man with beautiful bubblegum pink eyes looked so horribly distraught, but why was he looking like that? What was it he had said to offend King Boo of all beings?

"For as long as you live, you agreed." Luigi gasped, tears spilling down his face. He clutched his chest as pain flared through it, why had he agreed? Why hadn't he run screaming from it all?

"You tricked me, I thought I was dreaming! You made me agree to 'forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him'!" Luigi screamed at Boo, tears scattering as he turned sharply, and he moved away again unable to be near Boo a second longer.

Pushing open massive doors he pushed through a hallway, greenish fire leaping to life in the torches on the walls. All Luigi wanted was to wake up from this nightmare, away from the ghostly king that married him. It wouldn't have worked if Peasley hadn't knighted him alongside his brother, the magic of this world wouldn't have allowed a commoner to marry royalty.

Slamming into another room he realized it was a library. Normally that would help calm him down, but he was trapped in a dream with King Boo who had mysteriously decided to marry him against his will and was going to force him to do who knows what!

It hadn't really been against his will though had it…He'd been moved by the beauty of the place and had assumed he'd been dreaming so technically he'd willfully married Boo. This was a horrible disaster, what would he do when he woke? How would he be able to get out of this marriage if he'd agreed to it in the first place, Magic dealt with divorce, but they didn't really happen in this world thanks to Magic usually binding two people who were compatible together in the first place.

Luigi laughed because that was hardly true in this case was it! King Boo hated him with passion more than he liked making Mario a painting! Panic began to crawl over his skin, and he threw himself between two bookcases just needing somewhere small to hide.

"Luigi…" He looked up to see King Boo shifting in the doorway and rage reared its head, blinding him.

"Go to hell!"

Gasping he sat up, back in bed. Mario hovered over him looking kind of freaked out.

"Are you okay weegee?" Luigi shook his head and threw himself at Mario, who caught him-his back banging against the wall, but he didn't let his brother go for a second. He buried his face into Mario's shirt and wept. This was all so much to handle right now; he'd already had messy feelings before any of this happened but the sheer amount of stress, he was under currently made it impossible to think rationally about his situation.

"I'd hoped that it was all a mistake and yet I knew it wasn't going to be…King Boo's got me trapped and I can't do anything about it not really because I agreed, and Magic knows I did even though I didn't really know what I was doing! I thought it was a damned dream and now I. I'm a liability because there is no way I'm…He's probably going to possess me and force me to ruin your wedding!" Mario held him tighter and hushed him.

"It's alright, we already figured a few people might interrupt it." Mario grinned and ruffled Luigi's hair, to which he spluttered and pushed Mario away.

"Well, okay but seriously I'm freaking out right now because I haven't the faintest idea why he would do any of this." Mario rolled his eyes.

"Maybe he's sick of watching you from a distance and instead of doing the smart thing he decided to just marry you so you couldn't escape his love." Luigi stared at his brother for a moment before bursting into laughter.

"Yeah right!" Mario smirked at him and shoved him before climbing out of his bed and holding out a hand.

"Either way we'll figure this out and deal with it okay?" Luigi nodded and took his brother's hand; Mario frowned and tilted his head.

"Where did you put the ring? I mean obviously, you're not going to wear it on your hand but…" Luigi rolled his eyes and pulled the chain around his neck showing his brother the cursed thing.

"Ah, smart." Of course, it would be better if he could get rid of it but if it's actually powerful, he couldn't just chuck it like he really wanted to.
