Luigi felt surprisingly good when he woke up, and lighter than he had in a while. He was astonished by Boo's reaction, he wouldn't have thought that Boo would care about how much pain he was in, and yet…Their argument was useful for him to understand why he'd been chosen, Boo had seemed to care when he was upset to boot!

His face warmed up because one of the last things Boo had done before he woke up was to kiss his forehead. It was weird how nice that had felt, but he hadn't had anyone in his life. Boo admitted to not wanting to give him a chance to escape the wedding, but that could just be because there hadn't been much time for Boo to gain a living bride before the ghost dimension ceased to exist.

Luigi dressed and made his way to the kitchen. Peach was leaning against the counter, her hand on her face and the coffee machine merrily brewing, the scent of fresh baked goods lingering in the room. She looked up and spotted him and smiled at Luigi even if it did look a little strained.

"Well, you look chipper, I wished I hadn't drunk so much." He laughed at her and leaned next to her at the counter, she was a great friend to have, and it was a blessing that she was family.

"I don't know I drank as much as you if not more than you. Not sure why I'm not as hungover as you." She hummed and Daisy slammed into the room with Rosalina not far behind.

"I'm starved!" Daisy said and Rosalina rolled her eyes before sitting at the island. Peach pointed at the donuts and other pastries and Daisy happily grabbed a few to put on her plate, the coffee machine beeped, and Peach poured herself a cup and then dragged out three other mugs filling those too.

Everyone sat at the island and added what they wanted to their coffee and grabbed pastries.

"So... Are we going to talk about your Husband or?" Daisy said with a sly grin on her face, and he groaned somewhat theatrically and partially in irritation.

"I mean what is there to say? He tricked me into marrying him and we've been enemies since the very beginning and now we're in an odd position." Daisy rolled her eyes and Peach looked curiously at him, as usual Rosalina didn't seem to have much of a reaction but he could tell she was probably more curious than Peach.

"Yes, but he's clearly talked to you about the situation." That he couldn't deny, and he could feel his face heating up.

"We've talked a few times…I just. I couldn't understand why he chose this, and he finally told me why he was doing this." Rosalina and Daisy both looked interested in that comment and Peach seemed content.

"Cuz, he secretly liked you or something?" Daisy said and Luigi snorted at the comment, that was preposterous as Boo simply knew he was strong not a crush or whatever was running through her head. Though as much as Boo had terrified him last night, he'd also offered comfort maybe not intentionally, but it was still there…The feel of Boo's arms around him, the way his wispy hair slid across his face-Those eyes burning a hole into him to stare at his soul.

"No, how much do you all know about the Ghost Dimension?" The princesses all kind of shrugged.

"It's where all the ghosts come from as far as I'm aware, it's like their home realm. But other than that," Peach said with a frown on her face.

"Apparently there is an artifact that keeps the Ghost Dimension running and requires a ghostly king to marry a living person to I guess power the artifact. He didn't really cover why it needed a living bride just that it did and unfortunately, he saw me as the only equal he had."

Daisy and Rosalina had a reaction, but Peach kept her face neutral and that kind of weirded him out.

"But that's weird! I mean why wouldn't they tell us that was the case, I'm sure one of our kingdoms could have found an answer and freed his world from the need for a 'living bride'." Daisy said with a surprised sort of annoyed look and honestly, he wasn't sure what to make this situation either.

"The Mushroom Kingdom doesn't have the answer and we have some really old documents too," Peach said as she began to slowly make a new cup of coffee, that was news to him, how did she know that there were no documents about it?

"Peach?" Rosalina questioned and Peach's shoulders sagged.

"I knew about the living bride thing, my father mentioned that a kingdom had that problem but…He never told me which, I think it's a condition of the artifact that my father could tell me about it but couldn't name where it was." That made this a lot more difficult if that were the case. How were they supposed to learn anything about his predicament if no one could talk about it?

"Wait, so how was I able to tell you all about it?" Peach snorted.

"Well, you weren't just told about it-you're the Living Bride, I think you might play by different rules." That didn't make any sense honestly but who was he to say otherwise when Boo literally didn't tell him very much about it?

"Why do I get the feeling you're not telling me something Peach?" She sighed and shook her head.

"I don't know if it's true or not, and honestly at this point I don't know if telling you the rumors I know will help or hinder you. I really think you and Boo need to talk more about this situation." Oh, they were going to do that anyway but, this gave him the excuse he needed to do so.

"I need you to distract my brother then." Daisy laughed while Rosalina smiled fondly, and Peach let out a breathy sigh.

"I'll see what I can do then."
