Boo arrived at Peaches castle and frowned, everything running as it usually did but it shouldn't be, not with his husband kidnapped and God only knew where. If he was killed then it was on them for not realizing that the carriage hadn't been his idea, the way Luigi always saved Mario from him had made it clear to him not to interrupt any visits because it would only serve to push Luigi away.

The Toad guards looked up at him in some surprise before allowing him entrance, as if he wasn't still an enemy. He supposed he wasn't given he was married to Luigi after all. Someone must have told Peach because she and Mario came down the grand staircase looking a little shocked.

Why would they expect him after all, he should be with Luigi at the castle. Not here without his husband.

"Where Weegee?" Mario had the gall to ask. Boo snarled and was instantly in Mario's face, rage burning through every molecule of his form.

"Kidnapped! You little fool! I didn't send a carriage for him, the only sensible thing you did was tell me!" Peach gasped hands going over her mouth and yes. Good, the look of sheer terror in their eyes made him happy. They would take this seriously then, there was no way he was ever going to let them forget this mistake.

"We all thought! I mean you-Who was that if it wasn't you? Oh, gods." Mario half shouted half muttered. There were only so many shapeshifters and most of them belonged to Bowser who wouldn't move against him. They hadn't had any reason really to break their truce, but there was one that came to mind...That wouldn't need to shapeshift to trick Luigi, or at least until he opened his mouth.

"If you saw someone who looked like me it could have very easily been my father, he's been missing for a long while-since before the last living bride died. He could have been behind this-he's wanted his kingdom back from me for a long time. He could be using Luigi as bait to draw me out." And take care of Peach and Mario at the same time if he played his cards right, which apparently, he had.

Damn, if he had only realized they had seen his father he wouldn't have come here. It was likely that his father was heading to the Artifact that ran the kingdom, it was where he could sacrifice Luigi to gain his power back for a short time before the stone asked for a new Living bride. Enough time to strike him down in an ambush, take his crown back, and kill Peach and Mario...

They were going to have to act fast if they wanted Luigi to get out of this alive.

"Come with me, I think I know where they're going." Mario quickly came to his side as he moved towards the doors. Peach was not far behind them, by the sound of her heels clicking across the marble floors.

"I believe that my father probably took Luigi to the Artifact, it's possible to channel the Living Bride's energy-if he does that, He will be far more powerful than either of us could stop." Mario paled at his words, but it was true. The living Brides might have been keeping the artifact intact, but the artifact could and would cause horrible destruction if a Living Bride was placed on it.

"What will it do to Luigi?" Other living brides would wither up and die, but what would happen to Luigi who was the most powerful Living Bride he'd ever known? All the others except the tales of the first who made the artifact had died because they were fragile, Luigi was a worthy warrior in his own right. It might not do what His father wanted…

"It could drain him, but with the powers he already has and his exposure to ghostly energy? It could easily backfire on my father and Luigi could gain all the power…I don't know if his body can handle that amount." It could empower him and then kill him with the overload. Mario set his face in what Boo supposed was a determined one and they stepped out into the sunlight. He suppressed his shiver of pain, sunlight hurt worse than that damned flashlight that Gadd had invented.

Boo heard a gasp from Peach, she was close friends with her Brother-in-law so she would be worried for him. She moved towards his steed, a ghostly horse he adored, it wasn't just Luigi who liked animals then. The horse nickered and Peach made a delighted sound, he wanted to snort at the clear admiration in her eyes as she stared down Sin.

"I'm sure Sin would gladly allow you to ride him." Mario looked unsure but Peach immediately bounced off of the bridge's railing to reach Sin's back, who threw his head with a surprised sound but didn't try to buck her off. Even in such a dire situation, Peach's enthusiasm was invigorating, they would get Luigi back…One way or another. This wasn't about to be an easy fight no matter how weak his father had grown in his time away from the castle and with his Living Bride dead. Boo wasn't about to allow his father to take Luigi away from him without a fight…He knew he hadn't gone about showing his affection to Luigi right because the man seemed unsatisfied with their situation, but maybe after they saved Luigi, he could try to make things right.

"Fetch." The giant ghostly horse turned its head towards Mario who let out a rather unmanly squawk of a sound as giant teeth caught him by the back of his overalls and deposited him behind Peach.

"Sin take them to the graveyard." Sin bobbed his head and threw himself skyward, Mario letting out a scream as Boo shoved off the ground into the sky himself. The benefits of being a ghost sometimes outweighed the drawbacks like the god damned sunlight burning him.
