"Good afternoon." The woman at the counter calls.
"Good afternoon. Can we have 3 portions of fish and chips to take away please." She says.
"Coming right up."
While Patrick and Tim look at the paintings on the wall she talks to the woman.
"So have you found what you needed to?" She asks.
"We have made a start. Thank you for your kind words yesterday and the food."
"Anything for little Shelagh Mannion. Your parents would be proud of you." She reassures her.
"So who is he?" She asks cheekily.
"My husband and his son. I got scared and tried to sort out a problem on my own but now I realise I should have let him help me."
"Marriages are hard but they can bring such joy, just be honest with him and you will be fine. Plus he's handsome that's always a good start."
"Who's handsome?" Patrick asks with a hint of jealousy.
Shelagh blushes and the woman laughs.
"Don't worry we were talking about you." She tells him.
He grins down smugly at Shelagh and she groans looking down at the floor. He cups her cheek and makes her look at him. Their eyes lock and she sees the love in his before Tim runs back to them breaking the stare.
"Foods ready, enjoy." The lady says.
Patrick takes the bag and Shelagh leads them to his car. They get settled and she guides him to the beach. They find a bench and enjoy their food, after they remove Tim's callipers and Patrick carries him down to the sand. They enjoy the sunshine for a while as Tim manages to build a sandcastle without a bucket or spade. When the wind picks up they head back to the car. Patrick gives Tim a piggyback so they don't have to put his callipers back on. He settles him into the back seat then turns to Shelagh.
"So do you want to stay here for the night?" He asks.
"No Patrick. I thought I would feel safe here but I was homesick for a place that's no longer home."
"Where is home now then?"
She steps closer to him and rests her hand over his heart, he puts his hand over hers understanding what she is saying.
"Did you stop over on the way here?"
"Yes we stayed in a B&B in Gretna Green."
Her eyes widen at the name and an idea forms in her mind.
"Can we go there then and see if they have a room for tonight."
He nods and opens the car door for her, he runs around to the driver's side and they are soon on their way.
