Obsidian woke up the next morning to the noisiness of Avalanche cleaning. He got out of bed and went over to Avalanche and said,"Good morning." Avalanche smiled and said,"Good morning. I will be showing you around the Tundra later." Obsidian nodded and went over to his room again and grabbed two of his pouches. When he got out of his room the house was spotless. "Dang, you clean quickly. And efficiently." Obsidian said. Avalanche smiled and said,"Are you ready to go?" Obsidian nodded and they flew out of the house.

As they flew, Avalanche kept naming things,"This is the Taiga Forest and that is the Lake of Salvation." "Why is it called 'The Lake of Salvation'?" Avalanche looked over to it and said,"Our first Enchantree Root was used to turn that lake into a spot for healing." He pointed at some of the Dragons using the Lake to heal some of their wounds. "Anyone can take some of the Lake and use it for travel." He said. "Can't you just pour it into another water source?"

Avalanche looked hesitant for a moment and said,"We don't really know. We haven't given it to any of the other tribes. We thought they would use it against us in battle." Obsidian nodded in agreement as they kept flying. Soon, they came within sight of the Palace. As they both landed on the icy platform, someone came through the door," Oh, thank goodness. Avalanche, My mom wants to see you and some dragon named, Obsidian" "That would be me." Obsidian said. Avalanche nodded and said,"Thank you." They both walked into the palace and the Queen was signing a scroll. She waved her talon once she was done and the scroll turned to smoke and left the castle. When she noticed Obsidian and Avalanche she said,"Oh, Hello! That was quick! I have another task for you Avalanche, and Obsidian, your Queen sends her best regards for you as well. Both of you will be going on a quest." Avalanches eyes widened and Obsidian asked,"What's a quest." The Queen smiled and said,"A quest consists of a group of dragons and they are given a task to complete. Quests have not been called upon for a long time. You two are our first Questtakers in 20 moons. You are to go to the Eastern Ocean to seek the help of the Coral Guardian. Once you have done so you will send a letter to me and I will tell you what to do next." Obsidian and Avalanche nodded in understanding and went back to the house to pack.

Avalanche was gathering his stuff and putting it in his pouches carefully. Snow Bombs: Weapons. Arctic Hair: Food. Within the next hour he finished. Then, a puff of light blue smoke appeared in his room. It turned into a scrolls and he picked it up. Dear, Avalanche. I want you to see me before you leave. I want to show you something. The Queen. Avalanche read the paper again and when he finished he went to Obsidian and said,"Meet me at the East Border. Tell the Guard there that you are waiting for me." Obsidian nodded and Avalanche flew to the Palace. Once he went inside he didn't find the Queen on the throne, she was sitting on the ground waiting for him. "Hello, Avalanche. You know how I send letters by smoke? I will show you how to do that before you go." He nodded and sat down. "When you send a letter by smoke, you need to write it with crystalized ink." She handed him a vial full of dark blue ink. "Then, when you are done, you will tie it and wave your talon like this and think about who you want to send it to." He wrote on the scroll she gave him, I will be there soon, Avalanche. Tied it, and waved his talon thinking about Obsidian. Then, the scroll turned to smoke and flew out the door. She nodded and waved for him to go. He walked out of the palace and flew towards The Lake of Salvation. When he got there it was deserted. He took out a jar and scooped up a load of water into it. As he looked into the water it shimmered. He closed the jar, put it in his pouch, and flew to Obsidian, ready to start the Quest.
