Chapter 29

Chucky looked over at Kristen, real good lookin. She was the one who had told him this place was called split rock. Easy to see why, with the tree growing right through the rock. Kristen didn't look back at him, she only had eyes for Tyler who was sitting on the rock opposite to Chucky, playing with a knife. A bloody knife, covered in the red liquid that belonged to the dead cop stuffed behind the bush.

She had watched as Tyler killed him. Chucky was on her back forcing her to take him to split rock when one of the policemen came into view. Kristen had screamed out for help before the small hand covered her mouth. The cop had heard and seen her. He'd reached for his gun but then a figure in a grey sweatshirt jumped out of the bush and stabbed the man. The figure turned the bleeding man around and had stabbed him with the knife twice more before kicking his body to the ground. It was only when the figure turned to look at her that she saw it was Tyler. But it wasn't Tyler no, Tyler was gone, replaced by this psycho who wore Tyler's face.

And now here she was, being used as bait to lure Andy to his doom. She thought back to when she first met Andy and he had told her about his nightmares. Nightmares about Chucky the killer doll. The killer doll who wasn't just a nightmare but real. And Chucky the killer doll was standing right in front of her. Her eyes still locked onto Tyler. The boy who was now a killer.

Tyler lifted his gaze from the knife and met Kristen's eyes.

"What are you lookin at?"

Kristen shook her head, "what happened to you? Are you that broken? So broken that this is how you deal with your grief?" Tyler glided over to her. He looked her dead in the eye.

"You're something to trade for Andy. When we get that little fucker you can go on your marry way."

Kristen stood her ground, "you're sick! You'll never get away with this? Is this what Molly would have wanted? What would she think if she saw you now?" She spit at Tyler. Tyler lifted the knife and held the point only an inch away from her throat.

"Don't do this." He said, "don't become my enemy." Kristen took the risk and spoke again. "I'm not your enemy. And neither is Andy."

He didn't have time to respond before they heard leaves crunching nearby.
