Metropolis was a few hours behind Gotham, so Bruce knew their phone call was going to be more around lunch time for him. That didn't make him feel any less anxious. He wasn't going to admit it to anyone but he was scared. He wanted Clark to do all of the talking. He wanted Clark to say what he wanted. He wanted Clark to tell Bruce he had lost interest in him or that he really was in love with him. He wanted it to just be over with.
Luckily the torture was either over or really going to kick in. Clarks name came up on Bruce's phone as he was eating his lunch in his office. He took in a deep breath and answered.
"This is Bruce Wayne," he answered. He heard a chuckle.
"You can answer with a 'hello' once in a while. I know you have me saved in your phone so it's not a surprise,". He could hear Clark's smile. Bruce let out a small smile as well.
"Hello, Clark," he replied, "what can I do for you?" There was a pause. Bruce would wait all day for Clark to find the right words and answer.
"Bruce. I- you know I want more from our relationship. I've made that clear and you've known that for a while. I don't want to ruin our friendship," Bruce held his breath, "but I want to try. I want to try to court. I really like you. And taking care of you like that- It made me feel good that I knew you were for once- mine," Bruce smiled. He wasn't an alpha but he still had the possessive drive like one. "I pretended that we were normal. That nothing else matters. Only that it was you and me in the world. I want to start courting," he ended his speech.
Bruce Wayne the playboy alpha would play with his victim like a cat would before killing it, but he wasn't going to do that to Clark. It was going to be hard- but he was going to be honest.
"I would like to try too,".
