Dean took a long shower to get the cum and slick out of him. He dried his hair as he walked into the library. He spotted his younger brother Sam on the computer. Across from him was Jack who had his hands to his temples and was deep in thought.
"Found a new case?" Dean asked. Sam looked at him and pursed his lips. Jack let go of his concentrating face to look at him. Cas walked in from the crows nest. Dean pretended that the last week didn't happen.
"Cas didn't tell you?" Sam was a little surprised. "He's been with you all week,".
"I was sick, get off me," Dean brushed them off, "so what's go'n on, Cas?" The Angel took in a shallow breath.
"A Nephilim was conceived two nights ago,". Castiel let out. Dean stopped smiling. He looked at Jack then back to Cas.
"Another hybrid? Again?" Cas nodded.
"Everyone's talking about it. The words already gotten out to the demons and hell,". Sam explained.
"Damn it," Dean growled, "already?! Shit- we need to find the mother and fast before someone else gets to her," he turned back to Jack, "can you sense this chick?" Jack stared at Dean not saying anything.
"Jack said she was close. In our town close,".
"Good!" Dean smiled, " can you tell if she's a beta or omega? Can you tell us her hair color? Is she bonded? Anything that can narrow down the search?" Jack looked down at the table.
"Omega... but I'm not sure if I'm picking up on the right track. It's getting kind of fuzzy,". Jack averted his eyes from Dean.
"I'm in this towns omega registry. There are only 23 omegas and 13 of them aren't bonded or mated. But those girls are all under 18. And not to mention the closeted omegas that's aren't in the registry; so I'm not sure who to start with,".
"The mated ones. They're more likely to have some action under the radar of their husbands and mates. All omegas do," Dean chuckled.
"Dean- don't act like dad when it comes to lower second genders. I've told you this. You're a modern Alpha. Act like it," Sam growled. Sams old girlfriend ,Jessica, was an omega. He learned a lot from her about the class division between omegas, Alphas, and betas.
"You're just mad because I'm right!" Dean sat down and sprawled out in his chair. Sam shook his head.
"Tell me. Why are omegas considered "lower class"?" Cas asked. Jack shook out from his daze.
"Yeah why? And why are you two Alphas better than me, a beta,". Sam and Dean looked at each other.
"It's not that you're lower- it's just in the past Alphas had more powerful jobs and social standing. Betas were meant to be the common rabble and omegas are- I mean were- basically prizes for Alpha or lucky betas. But as life improves and changes there's not much of a divide anymore,"
"Keep talk'n Sammy. Totally not digging yourself into a hole," Dean smiled.
"I mean- look! You're more powerful than the three of us and you're a beta! And Cas is powerful and he's a beta too,".
"My vessel is an Alpha," Cas announced. The three looked at him, but only Sam and Jack were surprised by this fact.
"Oh... can angels be Alphas and betas? Or just their vessels?" Jack asked, curious.
"Our vessels are perfect for us so I think yes,"
"Ya got me there," Dean shrugged. Jack looked at Dean again.
"So... why would someone hide if they're an omega," Jack asked. Dean cocked his head to the side, not understanding where this question came from. Cas looked at Dean.
"They don't want to be bought and sold like commodities. Plus omegas are often kidnapped and taken to whore houses or underground trafficking rings," Sam looked around awkwardly.
"And who wants to be looked at by just their secondary gender?" Dean chimed in, "I'm a great and bad ass dude. Does that have anything to do with being an Alpha? No! I got this way through hard work and determination,". Dean got a little heated but quickly calmed down. Jack nodded and went back to sensing for the mother.
"Anyways- I've been looking and this one woman looks like she could be the one. She's not overly religious but she is spiritual. 23 years old, mated but not bonded. I think this could be her," Sam turned the computer to show Dean a Facebook page of Paige Johnson.
"Wait- how are you going to get her to admit she slept with an angel? And it was only two nights ago," Jack asked.
"Not only will the pregnancy be faster but Omegas can tell they're pregnant right away," Sam answered.
"No they can't. That's a myth. Omegas can't do that. Only their scent changes. That's the first sign," Dean growled.
"What do you know about omegas. You won't dare sleep with one," Sam smirked.
"I told you that in confidence. I just don't want to get one pregnant," Dean shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Jack looked at Dean again.
"I believe you Dean. I don't think this omega knows they're pregnant," Jack shrunk down a little.
"Fine. We'll keep an eye on her and look for signs that she's pregnant," Sam closed his laptop. Jack got up.
"I'm going to my room to see if I can zero in on... the omega,". Sam and Dean waved, letting him go.
Castiel watched him leave. After a few moments he heard a door shut. He turned to the brothers. None of them said anything. They knew they were going to have to have this conversation. They just needed Jack out of hearing range.
"So," Dean started, "are you going to help us or are you going to try to kill it?" He asked flat out.
"Dean..." Sam trailed off. Cas kept his mouth shut.
"Because you can either go or you can help us save and raise another Nephilim. Your choice,".
"Dean, it's not that easy," Cas frowned.
"It's pretty obvious what you should do. I just wanna see if you do it,". Cas looked at Dean with sorrow filled eyes.
"You know as well as I do when a nephilim comes into their power-"
"Whole worlds will die- yeah I know. Been to the apocalypse world, got the commemorative photo. But Jack is still around and worlds aren't dying,".
"Jack's different," Cas tried to speak out.
"No he's not. You just like chose him as much as he chose you. That's what's different," Dean defended. Cas tilted his head but didn't say anything. There was a long moment of silence before Dean stood up. "If you're planning on killing that pup then leave," Dean pointed to the general direction of the exit.
"Dean, I have a duty to-"
"Bull shit," Dean shook his head.
"If you believed that: Jack would be dead," Sam agreed with his brother. Dean didn't want Cas to leave. No they still had a lot to talk about after spending his heat together. Cas didn't want to leave either. But what was he to do? Having one nephilim around was bad enough for the universe but a second one up and walking around would surely be trouble.
Cas only nodded before disappearing.
Dean sighed and laid his head on the table. Sam didn't know that Dean had a crush on Cas but he does know that he cares about him deeply.
"He'll come around. Just like he did with Jack," Sam tried to comfort his brother.
"I hope you're right," Dean rubbed the back of his neck. He let his hand stretch out and fall near Sam.
Sam noticed something off right away. He sniffed the air, searching for the scent's origin. He smelt Deans hand.
"What are you doing?" Dean glared at his brother. Sam continued to sniff his hand but quickly moved on to Deans neck. "Hey, hey, hey! Careful with the merchandise," he covered his neck with his hand.
"I think being sick made your scent change. You smell like⦠sweet milk," Dean gave him a weird look then sniffed his hand. He wasn't ever good at picking up his own scent but he could smell it now. It was like sweet milk.
"Gross. I'm going to put on a blocker," Dean was disgusted by his scent. "I'll make an appointment with a doc for later,".
"You better. That's a big change in scent," Sam opened his laptop back up. "You were already sick once and Cas isn't here to take care of you again,". The mention from the event of the week before made Dean shiver.
Dean went to his room and pulled his phone out. He called up the doctors and made an appointment to see them in an hour. He put on his scent blocker as he was ending the call. The boys both used scent blockers when on a trip to hide their scents from anyone tracking them.
He heard the door shut gently behind him and foot steps walked to his bed and sat on it. He hung up and straightened his blocker.
"Dean," Jack asked. Dean turned to him, knowing that he wanted to talk about the new Nephilim, "can we talk?"
