Castiel sat there. Jack sat there. They hadn't moved since Dean and Sam left. Jack stared at his food. He couldn't eat, not right now. What should he say? Did Cas know that it was the nephilim? Did he know it was his? Jack moved in his seat.
"How... are you?" Was the only thing he managed to say. Cas didn't say anything at first. He just seemed to be in thought.
"I just helped him with his heat," oh no.
"What do you mean?" He hoped Cas wasn't putting the puzzle together.
"This past week," his face hardened, "he was acting like he was going into heat again, so I helped him,". Jack remembered their minimal appearances in the past week. "He can't be pregnant. Omegas don't go into heat when they're pregnant," he looked at Jack, "isn't that right?" Jack wasn't sure on omegan heats. He shrugged. Cas nodded and looked away.
"How are you feeling?" Jack leaned to look at Cas's face. Again it took time for Cas to answer.
"Can I be honest?"
"Please,". Cas paused.
"I feel... disappointed," Jack blinked.
"In... Dean?"
"No," he shook his head. Jack was terrified that Cas might know it was his.
"Why do you feel disappointed?" Cas looked at Jack. Jack didn't need powers to feel the hurting coming from Cas.
"I feel disappointed because I'm not the alpha," Cas answered honestly. Jack could only watch him. "I'm jealous. I'm mad.I don't know what to think. I want to be happy for him. He's starting a new life, but... I want to be with him when he starts it. I want to be with him through it. I want it to be mine," Cas spilled out his innermost thoughts, "I should have known I could never... I should have known he was pregnant. Every part of me is telling me to take care of him, to bond him but I have no right now," Jack didn't know what to say. What could he say? He could tell Cas that it was his pup but how much worse would he feel that he was the angel that sired the next nephilim. "If god could only see me now. My brothers and sisters... they would be so ashamed,"
"Since when have you cared about what they think?" Jack smiled. Cas didn't say anything. Jack sighed. "So, what if it was your pup?"
"My pup?" his lips twitched as if he was going to smile, "A nephilim pup," he shook his head, "Don't joke like that," Jack sighed. Telling him was off the plate. "I would have to kill my own-" he stopped and shook his head gently.
"Don't- don't worry about it,"Jack tried to change the subject, "but- what if the alphas... out of the picture,". Cas looked at him. His face heated up with anger.
"He left Dean? Alone?" Jack panicked knowing that was the wrong thing to say.
Cas got up. Jack immediately got up after him.
"Cas wait-" he grabbed Cas's arm. "Where are you going,".
"To get his alpha,"
"And do what?" Cas pushed his lips together. His eyes searched around.
"I'll bring him back to Dean," Cas frowned, "Dean needs... his alpha. Omegas need their alphas," Those words were like posion to him. Jack touched his arm. He felt that Cas's' heart was breaking. He let go. He really wanted to tell him everything.
"Why- don't you be his alpha," Cas looked at him as if the answer was obvious. "I'm serious, Cas. You can be Deans alpha," Cas shook his head.
"No," he looked away to the ground, "he needs his alpha, his pup needs its sire,". He repeated.
"Cas, did I need my alpha sire?" Jack asked. Castiel paused. He looked at Jack for a moment, "the pup just needs someone. Someone like you Cas,".
Castiel looked up at the boy. He shook his head.
"I..." he stood up straight. His lips twitched again, "I can?"
