"I said it once I'll say it again: you're an asshole," Dean scolded his brother. Sam dropped his head back with a heavy sigh.
"It's in our town Dean," he spoke while facing the ceiling. He turned to Dean. "I won't be alone,"
"Who'd you call?"
"Do-" the bunker door creaking echoed through the bunker. Dean got up from his seat.
"You invited other hunters in?!" Dean growled.
"I told them to wait outside!" Sam explained. Dean looked down at his belly. Oh, yeah. He was showing a lot. He quickly sat down and hid his belly underneath the desk right as two women walked in. One was a long haired blonde and the other a shortcut salty brunette. Dean would have been happy to see them if he wasn't hiding his nephilim pregnancy.
"Donna, Jody," Sam greeted. Donna smiled and hugged Sam.
"Hi! How have you guys been do'n?" She pulled away and walked to Dean. Dean quickly put up his hand, stopping her in her tracks.
"Ah- been sick," he warned.
"That's why we're here, right?" Jody asked, "Deans gots the sniffles," she smiled at him. Dean could only bite his lip. He was already in a bad mood. His damn pup has been laying on his bladder for the last three days making him wiz every 10 minutes. But of course Sam had to not only go off and have fun with their friends but also leave him alone while Jack was at work. He wasn't a happy camper.
Dean watched from his seat as the three talked about a demon that had been hopping from town to town, possessing pregnant people and then killing their spouses and other family members. The demon leaves the pregnant person alive. Their town was the next in line. Dean touched his tattoo through his clothes... maybe it was a good idea to sit this one out. He only wished that he hid in his room before they came so he didn't have to be stuck there listening to them. His hands twitched as he wanted to rub his belly for some relief.
"So, this guy is near the south side? Do you have any leads?" Sam pulled out his laptop and showed her a Facebook page of a Elizabeth Renae.
"Elizabeth here has been posting multiple times a day for years and lately her feed has been about her and her fiancé getting pregnant," Donna looked at the laptop.
"What makes her stick out?" She asked.
"She hasn't posted for the last week. Her friends posts and comments say she's acting weird when they come over. Has been that way for a week," Sam concluded.
"Anything on the fiancé's side?".
"No dice. He doesn't have a Facebook or anything else I could find,".
"Well, get your fancy suit on, let's go ask her some questions,". Jody shrugged.
It took half an hour but they were readying to leave. Sam tried not to hover over Dean.
"Do you need me to set anything up for you while I'm gone?" Dean stared at him.
"I'm not dying, I can be alone for a few hours,".
"Yeah but last time I left you, Cas came back,". Dean shook his head.
"He won't come back anytime soon... probably,". Jody and Donna looked at each other. Sam pursed his lips into a frown.
"Fine- but if he shows up, call me,".
"Will do Sammy," Dean smirked, "don't you girls worry about me. Go have fun kicking demon ass,". Sam smiled and nodded. The three left.
They walked to Jodys' police car and stood around it. Jody stopped at her door and looked at Sam.
"So- ah... Cas is Castiel- right? The angel I've heard you talk about?" Sam nodded. "What's his and Deans deal? You fighting with him?" Sam looked to his side, unsure how to answer.
"Yeah... we're still friends just- we have a disagreement on a case. And We're not letting him come back until he changes his mind,".
"What case?" Donna asked while getting in the front middle seat. Sam and Jody followed her and got in Jodys' police vehicle.
"Nothing... that big. Just he.." he struggled to come up with a lie. Jody and Donna looked at each other as he struggled.
"What's the case, Sam," Jody frowned at him. Sam knew he was caught.
"Dean and Cas... they're fighting because Cas wants to kill a nephilim pup,".
"Nephilim? Pup? What do you mean?"
Sam explained as they drove. He explained what a nephilim was, and that it was being carried right now. He explained Cas's past with Jack, the other nephilim pup, and how it was wrong to kill one but not the other. The girls were a little taken back by how an angel could kill a little pup, but were ready for anything Sam was going to say.
"Sounds like the nephilim pup needs protection. When are you guys going to pick it up?"
"After Dean gets better. Wouldn't want to get the pup sick," he gave them a half hearted smile.
"The pup running a fever is better than being killed by an angel," Donna frowned.
"Believe me- we're going to protect this pup," he sighed, "even if it kills us,".
They made it to the edge of town where the woman lived.
"So- plan A is to talk to her, get her to demon it up and knock her out so we can exercise her,".
"Plan B?" Jody asked. Sam pulled out the old reliable demon killing knife. The two women weren't happy with plan b, but that's why it was plan b.
The three walked to the door and knocked. After a moment a dark haired woman appeared. She seemed shocked to see two officers and a man in a suit at her door.
"Hello...?" She greeted.
"Elizabeth Renae?" Donna smiled. Elizabeth nodded.
"I'm officer Hanscum, this is officer Mills, and this man is agent-,"
"Agent Sydney," the three of them pulled out their badges. The woman looked over them, then back to their faces.
"Police and FBI?" She paused, "How... can I help you?" She was clearly uneasy.
"We're investigating cyber crimes," Sam started, "we've noticed some unusual activity on your accounts. Mind if we have a look?" He gestured his head to the house. She nodded and let them in.
Sam pretended to scroll through her laptop as the women talked.
"Nice home you have," Donna noted.
"Thank you. Hell of a mortgage, but hey-" she shrugged.
"You live here on your own?"
"Oh no. I live with my fiancé, Kelly," she smiled sweetly, "and our soon to be pup,".
"You're pregnant? How wonderful. Congratulations,". Donna smiled.
"We are. I've been so busy preparing for the pup I haven't been on social media. Probably why who ever is doing these cyber crimes are using my account,".
"Probably," Sam nodded along.
"It's been so hard to get ready for this pup. I mean I knew it was going to be hard but the mood swings I'll tell you. I swear- I think she's going to snap and kill me," she laughed. The three paused and looked at her.
"Wait- what,". Jody cocked her head to the side. Elizabeth paused then quickly realized her mistake.
"Oh, I'm not pregnant, my fiancé is," the three blinked, "I know having a pup before marriage is a little weird, but we knew that we wanted our pup to be part of the ceremony,".
"You're married to a woman?" Sam asked stupidity. Jody quickly back handed him.
"Of course! I assume it's IVF?" She tried not to panic.
"Yeah. I know there isn't a lot of lesbian couples in Kansas but everyone here seems to like us. I guess it's easier to assume I'm pregnant if you haven't met her. She works at the supermarket in town,".
"The ones with the purple uniforms?" Sam hoped she'd say no.
"Yeah, that one," she smiled. Sam returned a weak smile back and looked at the laptop screen, "well it looks like it's all clear, but if you see anything off, give the office a call okay?" Sam stood up. Donna and Jody followed. Elizabeth escorted them out and waved good bye.
Sam pulled out his phone and called Jack. It rang three times before he answered.
"Sam- I can get in trouble for-"
"Shh, Jack- is there someone at your work named Kelly?"
"My manager,".
"Okay keep an eye on her," They piled into the car. "I'll be there in 20,".
"Why,".
"I think she's possessed by a demon,". Jack didn't say anything for a moment.
"I thought she was just acting weird because she's pregnant,".
"We can't be for sure- so stay close to her- or even better trap her- salt her- use holy water- just-".
"I don't have my hunting stuff,".
"You don't- you're carrying around your backpack!"
"It's for my lunch! You helped me take everything out!" He defended himself. Sam rubbed his eyes as he remembered that, yes, he helped him clear out his hunting bag.
"Look- just keep her away from people. Be there in 20," he hung up as Jody sped off.
Jack looked at his phone. He quickly dialed in a number. He held it to his ear.
"Jack?".
"Dean, how fast can you get here?".
