After an hour or so of getting comfortable, Rowena checking over the newborn, and changing Cas's jacket for one of Garth's gift blankets, the party was allowed in the infirmary.

"Heard it was a quick delivery," Jody smiled at Dean.

"I heard that too. Wasn't there for it though," Dean rolled his eyes as he breastfed the little one. Cas sat by Dean's side looking at him and his pup. He anxiously waited to hold either of them.

"Wasn't expect'n to meet the kid so early," Bobby smiled.

"Yeah," Sam frowned, "I really could have waited,". Dean gave Sam the stink eye. Sam shrunk a little under his brother's pressure.

"How long does she need to eat? I want to hold my baby sister!"

"Sister?" Cas asked.

"We decided that she's my sister," Claire stuck her tongue out at him playfully.

"Here," Dean handed the pup to her, "she's finished,".

"Dean, she needs to be burped," Rowena scolded.

"Seriously? She was just born,". Dean shrugged.

"I'll do it," Claire volunteered. Rowena nodded and showed her how to do it.

"It's okay, you're sister's here. I'll keep you safe," she whispered, but Sam heard her. He stepped forward to Dean.

"Dean," Sam started, "I'm sorry. I was just trying to protect you. I didn't know if I could lose you. I still don't,". Dean glared at him.

"I want my pup to live. I don't-"

"Don't give me that bull shit. You would trade your life if it would save a kid from a bad candy bar, Dean," they glared at each other.

"It was a hard choice to make. I wouldn't want to make it," Cas interjected. Sam looked confused.

"Didn't you say you would have ordered him too?"

"Yes, but that was before I knew it was my pup. Now… I don't know what I would do,". Sam sighed.

"Look Dean-".

"No. I know… I would have done the same thing to you. As much as I would like to say I would save my own niece or nephew's life over yours, I probably wouldn't," Sam smiled, "that doesn't mean I'm not mad at you. You have no freggn idea how much resisting an order hurts. Same with you ever give me an order again- I will personally cut your dick off,". Sam nodded, only half believing his brother.

Alex and Charlie looked at the burped pup in Claire's arms.

"So what's her name?" Alex asked. The question was a simple one but it hit Dean like a train.

"Her what?"

"Name! Don't tell me you didn't think about a name for her," Donna laughed.

"Well, I wasn't sure I was going to live through childbirth, naming her wasn't the first thing on my to do list,".

"How about Sam Jr," Sam smirked.

"Hell no,".

"Oh, Oh, Cersei!," Charlie offered.

"Gesundheit," Dean smiled.

"Oh shut up, it's a good name," she scoffed.

"What's your mom's name? Mary, right?" Jack suggested. "Why not that?"

"Look, I love mom but- no," Dean shook his head.

"Samantha, after her uncle and great grandma," Sam looked at the pup.

"There is no way in hell I'm naming her after you. She wasn't supposed to be out for a few more weeks. It's your fault she's here,".

"So she should be named after me, it's perfect," Sam joked.

"She gets two names right?" Cas asked, watching her like a hawk in Claire's arms.

"Shit, that's right. She needs a middle name too.

"Deana after her dam, or Cassandra after sire," Garth nodded.

"That's cute but no. She's going to have an original name," Dean rolled his eyes.

"Then what about Daneille? That's a pretty name," Claire smiled. Then she looked at Dean, "You know what- no- don't use that name. I want it," she scowled at him.

"Can you guys shut up? I feel like I've been torn in half. I don't want to think about this right now,". They all rolled their eyes and went back to adoring the newborn. Cas took his eyes off of his pup and scented Dean. Dean leaned into him as much as his body would let him.

"Avery Nina Winchester," Cas whispered.

"Cas not right now ... Avery?" He looked at Cas.

"Do you like it?" Dean paused.

"I do. Kinda boyish but still girly. And Nina? Where did you get that?"

"A little girl I saved from a werewolf. She knew I was an angel,". Dean looked at the pup who was being put in Bobby's arms.

"Okay. Yeah. Avery Nina. That's her name," he closed his eyes and grabbed Cas's hand.

"Dean," Cas spoke up.

"Hum?" Dean continued staring at his pup.

"I'm sorry,". The angels' voice wavered.

"You didn't know,". Dean shook his head.

"I'm sorry,". Cas repeated.

"It's not your fault," Dean squeezed Cas's hand.

"I feel like a monster for wanting to kill our pup."

"Don't say that. You were only trying to keep the world in order."

"But I also feel like a terrible sire. I should have been there. You needed me but I wasn't there for you."

"I didn't make it easy for you," Dean smiled.

"I wish I could have let it go. I'm so sorry." Dean looked at Cas. His face was down turned. Dean pulled his face forward and near his own. His lips twitched in anticipation of touching Cas. Cas was ready for a gentle touch too. But they held back.

"Cas," Dean let out his name breathlessly.

"Dean."

"Cas, I..." Dean got choked up.

"Dean," Cas put his hand on Dean's cheek as a tear fell out of his eye. "I never knew I could be this happy. Being with you physically- I thought that was it- but I know there's more. I want to be a family. I want to be married and raise our pup. I want you as mine,".

"Are you proposing?"

"Yes, I am," Cas nodded. Dean smiled.

"Yeah. I'm yours," Dean nodded. Cas moved his face forward and Dean was ready. They kissed, slowly and quietly. The world around them disappeared. They were the only ones there. "I'm your mate. Only yours,". Dean smiled. Cas bit his neck gently, marking him.

"As soon as we can, I'm going to bond with you," Cas promised.
