The chunin exams were starting the next day and the village Konoha was more lively than usual. Civilians,Shinobi,Figures with authority like Daimyos had come to see the exams as this years batch of genin were the most interesting. There were the most clan heirs present in the current batch that Konoha had ever seen. The heirs of Uchiha,Uzumaki,Yamanaka,Nara,Akimichi, Aburame,Inuzuka etc were among the notable ones.
Naruto was heading towards the training ground for their Team meet up when he saw foreign shinobi grab Konohamaru. Naruto had grown attached to Konohamaru after that one incident where he bonked Konohamaru on the head for making false accusations and then the child starts respecting him and calling him his boss/big brother. Konohamaru was also kinda Naruto's first student so the blonde wasnt just going to stand around and see him get bullied. He rushed and grabbed Konohamaru from the sand-ninjas grasp and gained sime distance from them. It was only possible to do this because of the physical training he had been doing constantly since his graduation.
"Who do you think you are trying to harm the Hokage's grandson and my student" said Naruto as he emphasized the student part proudly. Kankuro flinched after hearing the Hokage's grandson and he also felt his brother's killing intent coming from behind him. "Kankuro, You are a disgrace to the name of our village. Apologise to them now and we will leave" said a redhead as he emerged from the tree in front of them. Naruto would feel that the redheads emotions were in a turmoil which was psychotic and he felt bloodlust from the jinchuuriki of the one-tailed demonic tanuki
Kurama recognized his brothers presence and gave a silent warning to Naruto. Naruto and Kurama had bonded well too as Naruto had approached him boldly when they first met.
(Flashback) Despite the fox's treatment of hate, the blonde had pushed and tried hard for gaining his trust and acceptance after he promised the fox to free him when he finds a safe way that doesnt harm himself and the fox. For a second Kurama had seen the sage in the young boy and this became his beacon of hope as he risked putting his trust in the Uzumaki.
(Flashback end) Naruto got the warning and thanked Kurama for it. Gaara being a jinchuuriki of the one tails meant that he had endured a lot and was probably made into a psychopath by his own village. Naruto was thinking about this without realizing that the sand siblings had left after apologizing to Konohamaru. Konohamaru thanked Naruto for saving him but then he cockily said that he didnt need the help and that he was about to deal with them himself. Naruto was broken out of his musings and the blonde chuckled, ruffling Konohamaru's hair.
He then head toward training ground 7 realizing that he became late due to this turn of events. He wasnt surprised that Kakashi hadnt arrived yet and Sasuke and Hinata were there waiting for him. "If Kakashi doesnt come on time then we will have to bring him ourselves" said Sasuke and his teammates agreed. The trio went to the spot whee they were 100% sure they would find Kakashi, the memorial stone.
At the memorial stone, the scarecrow jounin stood thinking to himself about his past. He had wasted so much time in his life in this place which was the reason he couldn't reach his maximum potential.
He snapped out of his grievances and was about to leave for his team meeting when he saw his students approaching.
"You late,bastard,pervert excuse of a sensei. There is no point on dwelling in the memories of dead people, you are just hiding your sorrow and letting it build up further. They wouldnt want you to that would they sensei?" scolded Naruto which left Kakashi stunned as he processed the blonde's words. He became angry for a second but then realised that the blonde was only speaking the truth and that Minato, his sensei wouldnt want him to continue with his life like this.
Kakashi reigned himself back in and took his team to the training ground in a shunshin (Body flicker). There he gave them their forms for the chunin exams and explained how they would have to take the exams as a team and that if one person backed out then the other two wouldnt be able to enter the exams. The trio however were determined and filled the forms in an instant and handed it back to the jounin.
They got some quick training done where Kakashi now gave his all to train them to become great shinobi as he realised the potential the three had. They could become the next generation of Sannin if they worked for it. After the days training, the trio went to the Uchiha clan compund that day on Sasuke's invite. They had dinner, talked, cracked jokes and laughed together. Sasuke had considered these two as his best friends and probably even till the point they seemed like they were the only family he had left.
"We will help defeat your brother together Sasuke. You know you are not alone and that we are a team and a team sticks together" was the blonde's promise that had helped Sasuke cope with the darkness within him and was the turning point in his life. Sasuke still wore a mask of coldness in front of the others but in front of his best friends he was starting to become the Sasuke before the massacre happened. They had a great day overall and Naruto stayed over at Sasuke's house while Hinata left after bidding them Good night. The duo talked about the exams tomorrow as the excitement didnt allow them to sleep for a while.
The next day the trio were headed toward the academy for the first part of the exams when they met up with the other members of the Rookie nine. Team 8 and Team 10 had also been nominated for the exams and were also very hyped about it except a lazy Shikamaru Nara and a stoic Shino Aburame. "How's being a genin going for y'all" asked Ino and she instantly bonked Shikamaru on the head for saying "Troublesome". The Rookie nine laughed at their antics as they entered the academy and were about to walk into the exam room 302 on the second floor.
"Wait, this is a genjutsu. It says 302 on the sign on too when its actually 202. We need to climb one more floor to the exam room" whispered Sasuke to the Rookie 9 while they saw other participants standing there outside, confused. They headed up and entered the exam room. After taking their respective seats, the members of Team 7 noticed the other participants following and reaching the exam room.
Kabuto Yakushi approached them and scolded Sasuke for drawing attention. Sasuke just grunted and ignored him. Kabuto then brought out the nin-info cards to draw the Uchiha's attention successfully.
Sasuke asked him about Gaara,Team sound and he provided the information. Just then a team from sound attacked Kabuto and Sasuke for revealing the info on them. Just as things were about to get heated up Ibiki Morino entered the exam room.
Ibiki silenced the genin, explained the rules of the exam and then gave out the papers.
Time passed and the first part was coming to an end but Naruto hadnt written anything on the paper yet except his name and a bit of history that he remembered. Then came the tenth question which was the do or fail one."If you take this question and you are unable to answer, you will never be able to participate in the chunin exams again. You can quit if you want to and take the exams the next time" warned Ibiki trying to get the underconfident genin to quit. His trick was working splendidly as many stood up and left until one blonde intervened and gave his speech of never giving up.
This boosted the morale of other genin aswell and the scarred proctor had to pass them reluctantly due to the gutsiness of Naruto. Then a figure cane crashing in through the window with a banner that said "Single and Sexy: Anko Mitarashi the prictor for the second round of the chunin exams".
Anko's display earned deadpans from almost all present in the room and she had the decency to blush. She shook it off and explained the second part of the the exams."You will have six days to head toward the tallest tower in the middle of the forest with the two scrolls in order to pass" said Anko. Then she asked them to head to the training ground which was the Forest of Death to participate in the second round.
(At the gates of the Forest of Death)
"You will need to sign these contracts which do not hold us responsible for the deaths of anyone. There are deadly creatures in there and killing is allowed which is the reason we ensure that we arent held responsible" said Anko to all the chunin hopefuls in an attempt to scare them. Some genin end up quitting again while some stay as it would be of no point to pass the first test just to drop out. The teams participating were given different scrolls of either Earth or Heaven and they were sent into the forest as the gates behind them closed and they scattered.
There was some fighting ensuing at the start of the gates for the scroll but the smarter genin fled from the scene so that they wouldnt be caught in the crossfire. One such Team was Team 7 and the genin trio had the plan to go toward the tower first and then ambush someone. While they were on their way on the 2nd day of the exams, the trio were blown away by a strong gust of wind jutsu. Naruto landed much farther away while Sasuke and Hinata hit a tree nearby and fell down injured. There was a puff of smoke and Naruto saw a purple snake in the distance.
"Sasuke ! Hinata-chan !" were the thoughts of Naruto as he rushed toward the snake only to be stopped by two Kusa nin.
Sasuke and Hinata were trying to evade the attacks of the other Kusa kunoichi who was on the snake's head. Naruto quickly dealt with the kusa genin that had confronted him and he neared Sasuke when he saw the snake approaching a badly hurt Sasuke and Hinata standing in front of him in a defensive stance, byakugan active. In an effort to protect them, chakra chains erupted from Naruto's back and two chains grabbed the Uchiha and Hinata and brought them over to Naruto and a third and fourth chain wrapped arround the snakes body and pierced through its head simultaneously.
"Ku-ku-ku, not bad Uzumaki. You might prove to be an even greater vessel than the Uchiha" said the Kusa kunoichi laughing maniacally. She then shedded her skin revealing Orochimaru of the Sannin.
Team 7 was left speechless and fear crept on to their minds as they looked into the slitted eyes of the snake sannin. Naruto quickly recovered from the fear and requested Hinata to leave with Sasuke while he distracted Orochimaru who was now more interested in making the blonde his new vessel. "Thats a nice one I give it to you gaki but do you really think I would let them escape so easily?" asked Orochimaru as he formed a mud-clone which went after Sasuke and Hinata. Naruto was tensed but he tried to calm down and think rationally.
The snake sannin approached Naruto as the blonde made ten shadow clones. "Shadow clones wouldnt work against me" cackled Orochimaru. The shadow clones moved toward him at high speed and Orochimaru was startled for a second as no genin let alone chunin should be able to move at that speed.The snake regained his senses as he dispelled Naruto's four clones in an instant with his Kusanagi sword and taijutsu. One more clone was heading toward him with chakra chains sprouting out of him and Orochimaru was distracted by the chains while the other four clones prepared a five element paralysis seal on the other side.
The sannin grabbed the chains and pulled the clone towards him, dispelling it. Seeing the distraction work and the seal ready in the ground, Naruto dispelled the other clones. "Finally decide to fight me eh gaki, Ku-ku-ku" smirked Orochimaru as he sped toward Naruto. The real blonde was standing 5 metres away from the paralysis seal which was cleverly hidden on the ground. Orochimaru stepped on the seal and froze. The sealing array began wrapping around him and the seal was completed. Naruto approached him and placed a kunai to his jugular. Naruto and saw the smirk on the sannin as he reverted into a mud clone. Orochimaru came from behind and gave a devastating chakra punch to the blonde's back and Naruto fell to the ground, barely conscious. Orochimaru received the memories of his other clone branding Sasuke with the curse seal and dispelling. He then placed the Cursed Seal of Earth on Naruto and fled as the blonde fell unconscious.
Hinata had taken an unconscious Sasuke and laid him in a cavern near a large tree. She activated her byakugan to scan for Naruto and found him 50 metres away and she noticed that he was unconscious and his chakra was in turmoil too just like Sasuke's. She formed a shadow clone and it went and got Naruto safely to her. She had learnt a little bit of medical ninjutsu from the library once so she began to analyse their situation. Orochimaru had given them the scroll they needed so that he could see Sasuke pass into the next round. Hinata made the decision to set uo camp there in the small cabern and to wait for her teammates to recover.
(In Naruto's mindscape) Naruto was suddenly transported to a green field with mountains in the distance along with a lake and a waterfall. He realised this was his mindscape as he had recently changed it from a sewer. In the distance he saw Kurama holding the terrified form of the snake sannin. The cursed seal had reacted with the seal Kurama was in and the part of the soul of Orochimaru was also transferred there. Kurama then proceeded to crush the snake's soul and explain to Naruto about the events that led to this. He then flooded Naruto with a little bit of his chakra to help him recover faster.
Naruto was thrown out of his mindscape as he woke up and felt the malicious chakra oozing from Sasuke. Sasuke was coved in black fire like markings and was fighting the sound ninja as he killed one them previously and now snapped the bones of the other in half.
He saw Hinata on one side terrified of the events going on. Naruto rushed to her and asked her what happened. "Sasuke-kun tgere woke up a dew moments ago and that seal on his neck started acting up and he cried in pain after which these sound ninja ambushed us and Sasuke dealt with them single-handedly" teared up Hinata as she cracked under the pressure of the malicious chakra. Naruto quickly went toward Sasuke and calmed him down by showing him the form of Hinata on the verge of tears. Sasuke calmed down and the markings receded. He felt the hatred susbside and thought to himself "I might end up harming them too if I'm not careful with this new power. It almost triples my hatred and the power is addictive too".
After these events Team 7 quickly dashed towards the tower and reached it succesfully with no problems. They entered the room marked for them and saw the instructions to open the scrolls. They did so and there puffed two familiar figures of Iruka and Kakashi. The senseis congratulated them and Naruto explained to Kakashi the events that had transpired with the involvement of Orochimaru and the fight between them. "This is a serious matter and will need to be reported to Hokage-sama immediately" said Kakashi and he took the two of them while Hinata was allowed to rest.
(Hokage's office) "I'll ask Jiraiya to take a look at his seal and see if he can do anything about it when he comes. Who put this stabilizer on the seal, was it you Kakashi?" asked Hiruzen and Kakashi denied. "I didn't even notice the stabilizer on Sasuke's seal" said Kakashi and the both became confused until Naruto spoke up "I did". Now the confusion increased. "When did you learn sealing Naruto?" asked Hiruzen and Naruto revealed to him about the scrolls he had found from the Uzumaki Clan's secret shrine. Realization struck Hiruzen that Naruto had hidden this from him all those years ago when he had asked about the Uzumaki. He was even more shocked to know that Naruto had mastery in the sealing arts greater than that of Jiraiaya's.
"You never cease to surprise me Naruto. But don't hide crucial things like this from me. You know you can trust me right?" said Hiruzen to the blonde and received a half hearted nod from him. "We'll talk about that later old man. I dealed with my cursed seal ad was able to remove the soul of Orochimaru from it with the help of the Kyuubi" whispered Naruto into Hiruzen's ears. "I'll take care of Sasuke's seal too and make sure that Orochimaru isnt able to manipulate him with the seal" said Naruto aloud gaining the attention of the other occupants in the room. Sasuke thabked him for that and they left for taking rest after giving the report of the battle between Orochimaru. Hiruzen thought he couldn't be more surprised but his pipe dropped as he went through the report of the battle between Naruto and Orochimaru and how he was able to beat Orochimaru's clone at such a young age. "He is truly a prodigy like you Minato" thought Hiruzen to himself as he was pondering upon whether to inform Naruto about his parents and heritage.
The remaining 3 days pass and Team 7 recovers splendidly.They were ready for the preliminaries and Sasuke's chakra and chakra control were also back to normal thanks to Naruto's effort of fixing up his seal
(Flashback) Naruto had removed the soul fragment of Orochimaru from Sasuke's seal after they bumped fists which connected the mindscape of Naruto and brought Sasuke into it. At first Kurama was skeptical about the Uchiha as Sasuke had his sharingan active but decided to trust it as Naruto had trusted him. Kurama again destroyed the part of Orochimaru's soul and Naruto explained to him what was happening and of his status of the jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi. "Why did you not tell me about this before?" was the simole question from Sasuke. "It is an S-class secret punishable with death and although I trusted you, there were laws about the secret and I wanted you to look at me as who I am and not just a demon" was Naruto's emotional reply. Sasuke hugged him and said "You're like a brother to me baka and there was no way I would think of you as a demon". Naruto thanked Sasuke and was almost tearing up with joy. "Dont get all sensual now, get your shit together and lets show everyone here what we have trained for. I'll see you in the finals, thats if you make it to them" said the Uchiha cockily.
The preliminaries began and it went just as it had gone in canon with just a few changes. In Hinata vs Neji, Naruto became furious when Neji attempted to take his best-friend's life even after the proctor announced the match. Naruto had jumped with the other jounin to stop Neji before he could deliver a fatal strike to Hinata's heart. The blonde swore that he would beat the shit out of Neji if they got the chance to fight in the finals. Also ,Naruto instead of beating Kiba with his fart, had beat the Inuzuka with a simple Sexy no jutsu which resulted in the perverted Kiba having a massive nosebleed and daydream while Naruto dropped the jutsu and knocked him out with a hard punch.
The third round of the exams was set to be in a month's time and the matches were same as in the original story. Naruto smirked and he promised to himself that he would leave Neji in the same pain he had caused Hinata after their match which was scheduled to be the first match in the exhibition matches.
Meanwhile Orochimaru was in agonizing pain as the destruction of his soul fragments from the cursed seal resulted in him being forced to a fragile state. The chronic disease his vessel had also worsened as a side effect and he would need to switch bodies quickly. Luckily he had a spare vessel so he was able to switch vessels but he was weakened even after that because the pain was of the part of his soul being destroyed. The sannin however had no knowledge about what was causing him this pain which left him perplexed while he researched on that.
In the month before the finals, Kakashi focused his attention on both Naruto and Sasuke equally. He trained Naruto for the first half of the month while he left a shadow clone to teach Sasuke the chidori.
Naruto was taught other lightning and water jutsus that Kakashi knew and they even took help from the scrolls of the Uzumaki on these elemental techniques.
Naruto had learned and mastered the Raiton:Lightning blade, Raiton bunshine, Tsuiton: Water encampment wall, and Tsuiton bunshine. He also learnt the Tsuiton:Water Dragon and Tsuiton:Colossal Tidal Wave which the blonde became proficient in but not master yet. Kakashi was stunned at Naruto's progress and how fast he could learn a technique and master it.
The first half of the month ended and Naruto turned Kakashi's offer down of him making a shadow clone to train him. He explained to tye scarecrow jounin that he would be training by himself and that a lot of his clan special techniques were yet unexplored by him. In that half of the month, Sasuke copied Lightning and Fire techniques from Kakashi and worked on mastering the Chidori and its variations.
In the meantime, Naruto would train by himself, visit Hinata and hope for her quick recovery. Hinata had requested Naruto not to hate Neji for what he did and she explained the situation of the Hyuuga prodigy to him. She made him promise that he wouldn't hurt Neji very badly and just incapacitate him if possible. Naruto made no promises to her but reassured her that he wouldn't go overboard on her cousin.
Ten days were left and when Naruto was returning from the Konoha hospital, he saw a white-haired man peeking through a hole in the back of the women's bathouse and giggling pervertedly like a teenage girl. He decided to prank the man and he screamed "Pervert" so loudly at him that would make a pink-haired banshee. Jiraiya was startled and turned back to see a blonde haired boy which he mistook for being Minato for a second. He remembered it was Naruto and he heard the commotion coming from the bathouse. Realization dawned upon the Toad-sannin and he grabbed Naruto, making a run for it before the angry horde of women could track and beat him.
"You really didn't have to do that gaki. It wouldnt have ended well had I not run from there" panted Jiraiya as he set Naruto down on the ground. "Thats what you for being a pervert" said Naruto with a cheeky grin. "I'm not a pervert. I'm a super pervert" shot back Jiraiya. Naruto got an idea from the toad sannin's bold statement and he flashed the self proclaimed super pervert with the sexy jutsu. Jiraiya again went into pervert mode, scribbling down notes on his notepad for his book when Naruto dropped the jutsu and laughed at his disappointment.
Jiraiya then offered to train Naruto but the blonde declined at first. The toad sage was left surprised that a boy would reject a legendary sannin's offer to train him. He then tried to attract Naruto with the toad summoning contract and that he would teach Naruto the one of the signature jutsu's of the fourth hokage who was also his student. This successfully gained Naruto's interest and he agreed as he drooled at the prospect of learning a cool jutsu of his idol and at the opportunity of being a toad summoner.
Naruto then trained with Jiraiya for the remaining ten days. The perverted sage was shocked at learning that Naruto had bonded with the Kyuubi and could use its chakra at will. The blonde could only go up to the third tail before losing his concentration and giving into the pure hatred of the chakra. Jiraiya pushed Naruto off a ledge to test this and his eyes almost went out of their sockets when he saw Naruto standing on top of Gamabunta. The gaki then proceeded to gain the respect of the chief toad after a fight with it.
Jiraiya was even more stunned then he could have been at seeing Naruto using the power of the cursed seal.
After the events Naruto had explained how he got the seal and that there was nothing to worry about as he had it in control due to the help of the Kyuubi. All these revelations left the sannin dumbfounded and at a loss of words. Their training came to an end and they went out to eat ramen as Naruto casually discussed Fuinjutsu with Jiraiya. At that point the toad sage had just given up and made a mental note to himself to expect the unexpected from the blonde gaki.
The day of the finals arrived and the hustle and bustle in Konoha had increased tenfold. There were bets being placed bere and there over who would win in what match and who would be the winner of the finals.
Naruto and Sasuke were more prepared than they could have been. "Alright ladies and gentleman, I'm Genma Shiranui and I'll be the proctor for the third round of the chunin exams, the exhibition matches." announced the elite-jounin. Naruto and Neji were to battle for the first match and rhe other participants were requested to leave the arena and go to the participants booth.
People were cheering for Neji which just stroked his ego further. Naruto stood calmly and with an analytical gaze. As Genma announced to begin the both gained distance form each other and threw kunai and shuriken and each other which were evaded,deflected or sent back as Naruto grabbed a kunai flying toward him and rotated,sending back the kunai at double the velocity. Neji just dodged and closed the gap between the both activating his byakugan and taking the stance of the Jyuuken.
Naruto already had experince over the Byakugan and the Jyuuken style after sparring Hinata many time and he was able to evade Neji's blows which would surely disable an arm or two. He also retaliated with chakra enhanced punches. His punches were very fast after his physical training but still Neji dodged them thanks to his Byakugan. Naruto had prepared something in advance against the Byakugan that he would use on Neji to defeat him. He radiated large amount of chakra which was moulded in a soecific pattern. The Byakugan recognized the chakra in the air and Neji's instinct told him to back off which he did. It proved to be of no use as with a click, Naruto produced a huge flashbang which blinded most of the crowd along with Neji. Naruto had prepared in advance for this and had used sunglasses to prevent himself from being blinded by the intense light.
He sped through the light and approached Neji who flinched and covered his eyes which were paining badly. Naruto delivered a chakra-laced punch to Neji's solar plexes which would make Tsunade of the sannin proud. Neji flew toward the arena wall and crashed into it creating a large crater. Neji coughed up blood and his eyes were still shut with the pain. The proctor announced the match as Neji did not get up for a minute.
On hearing the match called and how he had lost, Neji gave his speech on destiny and how he had the cursed seal placed upon him which was the fate of the branch members of the Hyuuga while the main family enjoyed favouritism. Naruto didn't care and advised him that there was no such thing as destiny or fate and that he too was born with a seal placed on him which had led to the majority of the village hating him but he didn't let that change anything in his life and that he took matters into his own hands and he would create his own destiny/fate by becoming hokage and gain the respect of those who despise him.
The rest of the matches went as it had in the anime and in the fight of Sasuke vs Gaara, Gaara unleashed Shukaku and the invasion started. A barrier was formed in the Hokage Box and the Kazekage who had come to see the matches on the invite of Hiruzen, dropped the veil revealing himself to be Orochimaru in disguise. Naruto was immune to genjutsu after his agreement with Kurama and he jumped out of the participants booth quickly grabbing a seal from the inside if his jumpsuit. Naruto had already made bijuu chakra sealing tags for the chance that he faced Gaara in a match.
Naruto deactivated the gravity and weight seals restricting him ( He had added gravity and weight seals during the month that was given for training. This was to improve his already impressive speed) and burst at High jounin-low kage level speed toward the form of the sand tanuki.
He applied three to four tags at the forehead of Shukaku simultaneously which led to his chakra receding into Gaara. Gaara woke up and still tried to fight with his sand but Naruto along with Sasuke incapacitated him. Naruto then examined the seal that contained Shukaku to find it done very poorly. He made some changes as Gaara was still conscious and saw Naruto messing with his seal but he was too exhausted after the use of the bijuu chakra and was on the verge of fainting so he couldnt do anything.
Naruto added the necessary elements to Gaara's seal which restricted Shukaku entirely from clouding and manipulating Gaara's thoughts. "You can sleep now" said Naruto as Gaara thanked him realizing that Naruto had actually helped him and drifted off to sleep. The sand siblings came down to the arena and took their brother, fleeing from the scene as the invasion part was failing horribly due to Shukaku not being able to create much havoc. The shinobi from Sand and Sound were being defeated and the situation was in the control of Konoha.
The shinobi surrounding the village and the large snake summons were dealt by Jiraiya and the forces of anbu. The situation of Hiruzen however wasn't good. Orochimaru had summoned the First and Second Hokage Hashirama and Tobirama Senju with edo tensei and slapped mind control tags on them. Story plays out just like in the anime and Hiruzen ends up dead after managing to seal off the snake sannins arms.
That was the day the will of fire was tested and Konoha managed to pull through as they mourned over the losses of their loved ones and their Hokage. The council offered Jiraiya to become Hokage after that but ge refused because of his duties in the spy network he built. He proposed for Tsunade Senji of the Sannin, his teammate to become hokage and both the shinobi and civilian agreed on this idea except Danzo Shimura who was ruled out by majority.
Jiraiya then requested to take Naruto for the mission to retrieve Tsunade and the council agreed. The perverted sage informed Naruto about it and explained how Team 7 wont be given any missions for now until a new Hokage was appointed and so they were going on a mission to find Tsunade. The student-teacher duo set off for the mission and Jiraiya had a brief idea of the whereabouts of Tsunade from his spy network. They stopped at a village in fire country which came before Tanzeku Gai where Tsunade was last seen gambling. Jiraiya decided to talk to the spy in this village to gain updates on the Akatsuki. They checked into a hotel and he said Naruto to stay there for the time he is gone and practice his Fuuinjutsu. Naruto agreed and the toad sage left.
A few hours passed and there was a knock at the door of their room. Naruto was working on some complex stuff so he formed a shadow clone to open the door. The clone opened the door and saw two matured sharingan eyes staring at him except, it wasn't Sasuke.
