Title: Rewrite the Stars
Chapter 74
(In the last couple of weeks, the social worker has supervised Jason and Elizabeth with the boys, as well as, Danny as a family)
Liz: "Hello, Miss Henry."
Miss Henry: "Stella, please, dear." (chuckles) "I know I am the social worker assigned to the case. However, I think we know each other well enough after all the interviews I had to do on all of you."
Jason: "We completely understand. However, we would breathe easier if we called you 'Miss Henry' so neither of us are accused of favoritism."
Miss Henry: (nods) "If you insist, Mr. Morgan."
Liz: "Miss Henry, how is everything going on your end? Anything more we need to do?"
Miss Henry: "I do have a few questions for you and Mr. Morgan."
Jason: (nods) "Feel free to ask away."
Miss Henry: "Does Danny's biological father, Franco Baldwin, have a role in his son's life?"
Liz: "Yes, whenever Franco wants to see Danny and as long as Danny is okay with it. Franco can see Danny whenever."
Miss Henry: "Are Alexis Davis and Kristina Corinthos Davis, Danny's grandmother and aunt, allowed to see him, as well?"
Jason: "Yes, whenever they want, they can see him."
Miss Henry: "Thank you for answering my questions. I will pass this along to the judge."
Liz: (smiles) "Thank you, Miss Henry: "
(Jason and Elizabeth walked Miss Henry out. The couple had no reason to believe they would not get custody. So, they were cautiously optimistic)
(Miss Henry, the social worker hired on Danny Morgan's case, watched for several more days. She seemed satisfied as she smiled and spoke)
Miss Henry: "I'm very happy with how things are going so far. I have no reason to believe the judge will go against you as you have been very cooperative. Danny also seems to be thriving. However, I would like to talk to him in private, just him and I, so no one can sway what he might say. In case there are any accusations."
Liz: (nods) "Of course, Miss Henry."
(Danny was currently in his room with Aiden playing a game. Elizabeth walked with Miss Henry up to Danny's room and Elizabeth saw Aiden there)
Liz: "Aiden, honey, Miss Henry needs to talk to Danny alone. Want to come downstairs for a bit?"
Aiden: "Okay."
(Elizabeth walks with Aiden out of the room and downstairs. Danny sits on the foot of the bed with Miss Henry)
Danny: "Am I in trouble?"
(Miss Henry tilts her head and faces him questioningly)
Miss Henry: "Danny, why would you be in trouble?"
(Danny sighs as he briefly looks down)
Danny: "Because I'd rather live with Mommy Elizabeth and Daddy Jason than my real mom and dad."
Miss Henry: "Danny, there is no wrong or right answer here. Only YOUR opinion matters because it's YOUR life. No one else's. I am not here to judge you, Danny." (smiles) "For what it's worth, it looks like Mr. Morgan and Miss Webber are raising you well, so far. That is good in my book. Tell me about your real mom, Sam McCall. How do you feel about her?"
(Danny looks down in sadness)
Danny: "I know she's my mom, but she did bad things to people. She tried to hurt Mommy Elizabeth."
Miss Henry: "How did that make you feel?"
(Danny shrugs as he continues to face down)
Miss Henry: "Remember, Danny, there is no wrong answer here. Tell me what is in your heart."
Danny: "I do love my mom, but it made me sad when mom tried to hurt Mommy Elizabeth. It made me mad when mom wouldn't answer me when she did it or didn't seem to care. What kind of person does that?"
Miss Henry: (nods slowly) "A person who sounds like she doesn't have any remorse, unfortunately." (tilts her head) "How do you feel about Franco?"
Danny: "He's okay. Seems nice."
Miss Henry: "Do you like spending time with him?"
Danny: "I don't know him really well. We have hung out a few times. I don't mind, I guess."
Miss Henry: "Do you feel, because he's your biological dad, you have to spend time with him?"
Danny: "Kind of. But I know Daddy Jason and Mommy Elizabeth would never force me to. They have made it clear that I don't have to. It's up to me. My choice."
Miss Henry: "They are right. Yes, Franco is your biological dad, but in the end, it's your choice if you see Franco. How do you feel about Jason?"
Danny: (smiles) "I love Daddy Jason. He's fun and helps me with my homework. I don't have to ask him to hang out with me. He always does."
Miss Henry: (grins) "I'm glad. And Elizabeth? How do you feel about her?"
Danny: "Honestly?"
Miss Henry: (nods) "Yes, please."
Danny: "She's the mom I've always wanted. I mean, yes, my real mom was there growing up. But I feel she didn't always put me first. Mommy Elizabeth does. I love Mommy Elizabeth."
Miss Henry: "Thank you. That is what I wanted to know. You have been very helpful. One more question, Danny. Do you like where you currently live? With Jason and Elizabeth? Or would you rather live with your Grandma Alexis and Aunt Kristina?"
Danny: "I love where I'm at. Everyone makes me feel at home. I have my own room. I'm living with my brothers and my mom and dad."
Miss Henry: (smiles) "I'm very happy to hear that, Danny. Thank you. If you want to go play with your brothers, you sure can."
Danny: (nods) "Okay."
(Miss Henry goes with Danny downstairs so she can talk with Jason and Elizabeth)
Jason: "Did everything go okay with Danny?"
Miss Henry: "It went just fine. He answered all of my questions honestly. I will report back everything to the judge. As soon as I hear more, either me or Alexis Davis will let you know the results."
(Jason and Elizabeth thank Miss Henry for her time and she leaves. The couple exhales as now it's a waiting game to see what is going to happen)
(After a few days, Alexis goes to Jason and Elizabeth's house with an update)
Liz: "Okay, Alexis. What's the verdict?"
Jason: "We're dying of curiosity."
Alexis: (smiles) "I heard from the judge. It's official. Danny is legally a Morgan as well as legally your son." (serious tone) "However, the judge wanted to make it clear that Franco, myself, Kristina, and whoever else involved can see Danny whenever."
(Elizabeth looks at Alexis a bit weirdly)
Liz: "Of course. Alexis, we would NEVER try to keep Danny from you. I hope you know that. You and Kristina and anyone related to Danny are welcome to see Danny anytime."
Jason: "We don't have any objections."
Alexis: (nods & smiles) "I know that. I told that to the judge, as well. The judge just wanted to make sure you two are aware of the rules. But you have met with her every step of the way."
Jason: "And we will continue to do so."
(Alexis nods & makes her exit)
(A few days later, Jason and Elizabeth held a little get together at the house and invited friends and family. Family of Danny and of the couple. Jason was a little surprised Elizabeth invited Scott considering what he did for Sam)
Jason: "Are you sure you want Scott here, baby?"
Liz: (nods) "It's time to mend fences. I don't want to hold anymore grudges."
Jason: (smirks) "What about Sam?"
Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "She's an exception."
(Jason laughed on that one. Elizabeth kisses Jason's cheek and then walks to Scott, who is standing by the fireplace looking at pictures)
Liz: "Yes, I included one of you, Franco, and Danny. Somehow, I was able to sneak one in."
Scott: "I admit I'm a little caught off-guard that you invited me here considering what happened in the past."
Liz: (shrugs) "It was time to let it go. I don't want to hold grudges. Sam's the exception."
Scott: (sighs) "Elizabeth, I'm sorry I defended her in court, knowing what she did to you. I never should have done that."
Liz: (tilts her head) "Just let it be a lesson learned, Scott. No one's perfect. God knows I'm not."
(Elizabeth opens her arms to Scott, ready for an embrace)
Liz: (smiles) "Fresh start?"
Scott: "I would love nothing more."
(Elizabeth and Scott hug it out. Everyone ate and engaged in conversation. Afterwards, Elizabeth and Jason stood next to the fireplace and took turns speaking)
Liz: "Thank you, everyone, for coming."
Jason: "We appreciate you celebrating with us that now Danny is a part of our family."
(Danny raised his hand)
Liz: (smiles) "Yes, sweetie? Say whatever you want."
Danny: (smiles) "Now that I'm officially a Morgan, can you and Daddy Jason get married now so we can finally become a real family?"
(Everyone laughs at Danny's bold question. Jason and Elizabeth face each other and nod)
Liz: "We officially have custody of Danny."
Jason: "We found out I am the biological father of all three boys after all these years of not knowing the truth, even though we did know the truth about Jake. But we wanted to make sure."
Liz: "I'm officially back at work at GH." (smiles) "I missed it so much and my patients said they were so happy to see me again."
Jason: "Everything is how it should be. Is there anything stopping us from officially tying the knot?"
Liz: (smiles happily) "It doesn't sound like it. Everything is how it should be."
Jason: "Now, we just need to decide where to have the wedding on such short notice."
Cameron: "I have a suggestion on that, dad."
Jason: "Go for it, son."
Cameron: (grins) "Why not have the wedding in the backyard here at the house? We can decorate it how we choose."
Carly: "Ooh, I love it!"
Terry: "I do, too."
Sonny: "This way, you don't have to wait to have the wedding. As soon as everything is done, you are good to go."
Jason: (nods) "I like it."
Liz: (smiles) "Me, too. Great suggestion, sweetie."
Jason: "Cameron, come here, son."
(Cameron walks to his father. Jason rests his hands on Cameron's shoulders)
Jason: "How would you like to be my best man?"
Cameron: (smiles) "I would love nothing more."
Jason: "Awesome."
(Father and son share a hug. Jason asks Sonny to come near him)
Sonny: "What's up?"
Jason: "How would you like to be my groomsman?"
Sonny: (smiles) "I'd be honored."
(Elizabeth goes to Terry)
Liz: "I have a favor to ask of you."
Terry: (nods) "Anything for you, Biz."
Liz: "Would you be my maid-of-honor?"
Terry: (gasps) "Really?"
Liz: "There is no one I want more. You're my best friend."
Terry: "I'd be absolutely honored."
(The friends hug. Elizabeth walks to Carly)
Liz: "Hey."
Carly: "Hi. Congrats. I'm so happy for you and Jason. You two deserve all the happiness in the world."
(Carly hugs Elizabeth)
Liz: "Thank you, Carly. I appreciate that. I have a question for you. It's about the wedding."
(Carly waves her hand as she speaks)
Carly: "Anything you need, consider it done."
Liz: (chuckles) "Thank you. I appreciate it. But I wanted to know if you'd be a bridesmaid in my wedding?"
(Carly was shocked! She raised both hands to her mouth before speaking)
Carly: "Are you serious? I'm not hearing things?"
Liz: (laughs) "No, you are not. Yes, I am. We have come a long way. I consider you a friend and I appreciate you being there for me."
Carly: "Oh, Elizabeth, I'm always there for you. Yes, we have definitely come a long way. I definitely consider you a friend, too. Not only that, but you're family. I would be so honored to be your bridesmaid. Thank you for asking me."
(Elizabeth and Carly share one last hug before Elizabeth goes to Aiden and Jake)
Liz: "Hey, guys."
Aiden & Jake: "Hey, mom."
Liz: "Listen, a few weeks ago, your dad and I talked about this when it came time to decide everything for the wedding. The only thing we did not know yet is where the wedding was going to be. Jake and Aiden, will both of you walk me down the aisle and give me away?"
(Jake and Aiden smile at each other before taking turns embracing their mom)
Jake: "We'd love to."
Aiden: "Nothing we'd love more."
Liz: "Thank you."
(She touches their cheeks gently with her hand before going to Danny)
Liz: "Hello, handsome."
Danny: "Hi, mommy Elizabeth."
Liz: "You dad and I were wondering. How would you feel about being our ring bearer?"
Danny: "What's that?"
Liz: "It's someone who holds onto the wedding rings until the bride and groom give them to each other."
Danny: (nods) "I'd love that."
Liz: "I'm glad, sweetie."
(Jason goes to Monica, who is chatting with others. Monica excuses herself)
Monica: "I'm so happy for you, Jason."
Jason: "Thanks, Mom. Me and Elizabeth were thinking and hoping you'll say yes to our question."
Monica: "If I can help, I'll gladly do it."
Jason: "How would you like to officiate at our wedding? You have been one of our biggest supporters since the beginning. We would love it if you could."
Monica: (grins) "Nothing would give me greater pleasure than marrying my son and my soon-to-be daughter-in-law."
(Jason and Monica hug. Elizabeth and Jason were finalizing the details of the wedding and they couldn't wait to finally be husband and wife)
