Chapter 9:

And just like that, Ned had earned A trip into Adrena Lynn's private sanctum. The camera man had developed the film himself-Ned had thought far enough ahead to realize that he had to convince "The Examiner" staff that this wasn't trick photography, and even thought of other ways to cover hiss bases, like refusing to reveal how and where he'd gotten the shots until they'd made at least A preliminary commitment to buy them.

They were good enough for the camera man. But would they be good enough for Andrena Lynn. She looked over the shots. Then she looked at the kid in the chair across from him. Jeez, these would-be journalists were getting younger all the time. Andrena Lynn wondered if the kid even shaved yet. He'd bet money the kid was only barely of legal age.

Probably his only real journalism experience was his high school's paper. Still, though, the kid had brought him pictures of Shogun. And they were good shots, too. Clear, crisp, like he'd been right in the middle of the action. But Adrena Lynn had A poker face worthy of A Vegas champion. "They're crap." She said. putting A picture down.

Ned gave Andrena Lynn his best you've gotta be kidding me look. "Crap, crap, megacrap." She said. sorting through the rest of the photos, then tossing them aside. "I'll give you two hundred for the lot of'em." Andrena Lynn said. For A brief moment, Ned wondered if Andrena Lynn had A cousin who was A wrestling promoter. "That's seems A little low." He suggested.

Adrena Lynn waved them off. "Then go peddle'em someplace else." Adrena Lynn said. The intercom buzzed. "Ms. Lynn." Betty said. "Your BF says the tile for the foyer is out of stock." Betty said. Adrena Lynn picked up the phone as Ned stood up and gathered the photos into A stack and slipped them into A manila folder. "Tell him to put down A rug." She said.

Then slammed the phone down and looked up at Ned. "Sit down." She ordered. "And gimme that." Ned sat back down again and handed Adrena Lynn the manila folder. Adrena Lynn looked at the photo once more. Jeez, this kid drove A hard bargain. "Three hundred. Standard freelance fee." She pulled out one of the photos from the armored car heist and handed it to The camera man. "Tear up page one and run that instead." Adrena Lynn said.

Ned's eyes lit. He was going to be on the front page of "The Examiner." He and Shogun would. This was cool. "Headline?" the camera man asked. Adrena Lynn drew it in the air with her hands. "Shogun" Hero or Menace? Exclusive "The Examiner." Photos …" Adrena Lynn said. Ned was offended. "Menace? But he was trying to save that armored car from being robbed …" Ned said.

"Tell you what, Atticus-you take the pictures, i'll make up the headlines." Adrena Lynn snapped in machine-gun tones. "That O.K. with you?" she asked. Ned decided discretion was the better part of valor. "Yes, Ms. Lynn." Ned said. "Goodie." She signed A cash voucher and handed it to Ned. "Give this to the girl at the desk. She'll see that you get paid."

Well, that would do for A start. But Ned was after A long-term commitment. "I'd like A job, Ms. Lynn." Ned said. "You're doing fine at Bueno Nachos, no job here." Adrena Lynn retorted. "Freelance, best thing in the world for A kid your age." She stood up and walked over to Ned's chair. Ned got the hint that it was time for him to leave. They could discuss this later.

"Tell you what junior." She said. Patting Ned on the shoulder. "You keep bringing me pictures of this newspaper-selling clown, and I might take'em off your hands. But no job." She thought for A second. "Meat. I'll send you A box of Christmas meat. Now get out of here and get me some more photos." Adrena Lynn said.

Ned had half A mind to turn vegetarian as A twisted way of getting even, then decided this was A battle that could be fought at another time. Now to make sure he actually got the money he'd been promised this time. He headed over to the secretary's desk. Wow, she was A looker. Asymmetrical bob haircut, bright eye, heart-shaped face. Maybe he'd have better luck with A girl who didn't know his life story.

"Uh Ms. Lynn said to give this to you and you'd take care of it?" he said. Handing her the voucher. She looked at it, then initialed it. "Welcome to "The Examiner." She said with A smile. "Thank you." Wow, A woman actually smiled at him, and it wasn't A smile of pity. This was A first. "I'm Ned." Ned said. "Nice to meet you." Betty said. She opened A ledger-size checkbook to fill out A check for him.

Well, this was as far as he'd ever gotten in the past. Now what to do? "I'm A photographer." He added. She gave him A head to toe appraisal and quickly pegged him. Nice kid, but A helpless geek. "I can see that." She noted, looking right at the rather prominent camera around his neck. Ned sighed. Maybe he should just wear A sign that said "Helpless Geek." It would be easier then to understand the constant dismissive reactions he always got.

"How does Stoppable pull it off now? He's not A geek anymore." Ned asked himself.

Middleton High school:

The two teens were sitting in the cafeteria glancing at Mr. Barkin was cheering at Brick, who we're arm wrestling Big Mike at the football team lunch table. Monique was talking about Shogun, who saved everyone at the festival yesterday. Kim rolled her eyes at Monique's story on how Shogun grapples away with Vivian Frances Porter in his arms.

Kim had to listen to her fashion friend giggling. The hero was so exhausted from her mission this morning. She was glad she and her boyfriend Eric are not getting along and having each other's back. Things were starting to not work ever since Eric heard about Kim and Shogun fighting together against The Jackal and saving Monique.

"Girl, Shogun is incredible and hot." Monique said. She turned red when she spotted Ron. It was all Ron could do to keep from smiling, and he walks past Kim and Monique from the cafeteria. Kim had A frown on her face, who she stare at Ron strolling by and left. "What was that thing, girl?" Monique asked.

"I don't know, Monique." Kim announced. The memories of A new villain flashed Kim's mind when Monique notified her, Shego usually does not attack public events or work without Drakken. "But whatever it is, someone has to stop it." Kim said. "Girl, you can get Shego. Just don't forget about your next date with Eric tomorrow night. Remember you two going to an opera show." Monique said.

Kim paused for A moment. Eric Pointbreak. Her mood had suddenly changed. She and Eric were going on and on about the GWA case. He's really getting jealous of Shogun. It's not her fault that they both were in the Middleton arena. Her friend was in trouble and Shogun helped. But no matter how she tries to justice feed that they worked together. Eric still gets angrier at her.

Gazing at Bonnie walking by. "K, Nice green shirt." Bonnie laughs, and leaving out the cafeteria, ignoring B's remark, the teen hero pressed A button on her device. The screen lit up, the image of Wade sitting in his room playing video games. "What's up, Kim?" Wade asked. "I want you to be on the lookout for Shego again. Extra scans. I want this villain found and stopped." Kim said.

"Well, Kim, it's not like I have A tracking chip on Shego." Wade said. "I know, Wade. It's just that Shego is dangerous." Kim said. Kim hears Barkin cheer, causing her green eyes to roll. "It will be difficult, but I'll do my best. I'll keep you updated on anything I find." Wade said. "Thanks, Wade, you rock." Kim said. turning off her kimunicator.

Possible house:

That night at dinner, Kim Possible sat at the dinner table when Anne arrived at the table with A smile on her face. "Dinner is ready." Anne said. Kim held back the vomit of the human brain on A dinner plate. "Mom. What is that?" Kim asked. "Brain. Cool." Jim said. "I want A lobe." Tim said. James stop looking at his newspaper and gave the twins A look. "Boys, behave." James said.

Kim shook her head in sorrow. "First Ron and I have A fallout, then Monique crushing on Ron. Has everyone-"Kim held in her hand on her mouth as Anne began to cut the human brain. "That is so gross." Kim said. "Kimmy, it's just meatloaf." Anne consoled. "I'm making it for my co-workers. Thought I'd try it on my family first." Anne said.

James chuckled, and he turned to Kim next, "So uh, what's up with you and Ronald? Something you wanna talk about?" Anne asked. "Yeah, but I guess I should be talking to him about it." Kim said. looking to her mom, "May I be excused?" she asked. Anne nod watching Kim headed into her bedroom, grabbed the phone on her nightstand, and dialed Ron's home phone number.

For A brief moment and the answering machine beeped. "Hey, hey you've reached the home of Ron Stoppable. I'm not home, so leave A message." Kim frowned. "Ok, I better call his cell." Kim said.

Ron spent much of the rest of the day on the rooftop, patrolling the city. Ron saw Shego plastered on the front of the Middleton Mall front door with the word "Wanted." Across the top of the page as the rain began to fall, breaking the tension in Ron's mind. Until he spotted Vivian Frances Porter walk around the corner, and he saw two street thugs who had turned and started after her, when he heard his cell phone started going off, he answers it.

"Hello Kim." Ron said. pressing the button for answer. Ron raced for A nearby alley while he was talking to his former best friend. "Ron, what is that noise?" Kim asked. "Kim, I'm A little busy here, just the TV being louder than usual. I'll call you back." Ron lied. "Ron, wait, we need to talk about us." Kim said. On the other line.

"Sorry, Kim, gotta go." Ron explained and hung up his cell phone as he put it on his pocket. Ron was trying to catch Vivian. He needs to save her and have her back. The rain was pouring down in sheets now. Vivian was trying to go shopping for new cloths that she needed because she heard about the sale on Club Banana. She was A mess.

Until the blond beauty noticed two thugs coming up to cut her path off, she started to turn around. Two different men stood behind her, grinning at Vivian. She took off running. And the thugs took off after her, chased her down to A small alley, cornering her by A shabby motel. The men surrounded her.

Vivian screamed, one thug grabbed her. He held the knife to her throat while his buddies gathered around. One ripped her coat off, another took her purse, A third was reaching for her wet red dress. "Get off me." Vivian said. Suddenly, all four thugs were jerked away.

And Vivian looked up to see Shogun beating up all the thugs, with Vivian watching Shogun laying the beat down on them, one of the men crashed to the pavement. The one with the knife slashed at him. Shogun kicked the knife out of his hands and punched him in the jaw. Two of them tried to jump him from behind, but he uppercut the thug's face and turned around, and hurled them through the windows of the hotel where they'd attacked Vivian.

A third one was thrown at the wall. Shogun hoisted the fourth into the shadows beating up the guy. He lowered the man and began to back away. It took Vivian A second to realize why he was retreating. He wasn't masked anymore. She still could barely make out the reflection of his face. She tried to hurry over to him. "Wait." Vivian called out.

But he stumbled into an alley. She went to find him, but he was gone. "Dammit, that hottie is gone." She sighed and stepped back before deciding to go back to the mall. "You have A knack for getting into trouble, lady." Shogun said. Vivian spin around to see Shogun masked on, standing beside her folding his arms.

Vivian giggled at him. "And you have A knack for saving my life." She returned. "I think I have A super hero stalker." Vivian said. "I was in the neighborhood." Shogun said. "You are … amazing." She finally said, trying to work up the courage to tell him how she felt about Shogun. "Some people don't think so." Shogun said. Vivian could hear A little whine in his tone.

She'd read the stories about Lynn, dishing him in the newspaper. Vivian knew what some people were calling him. She didn't care. She knew Shogun is A hero to her. "But you are." Shogun words now sounded happy. "Nice to have A fan." Shogun said. "Do I get to say thank you for this time, Shogun?" Vivian asked. He didn't respond. Vivian reached forward to touch him.

"Wait." He whispered. For A moment, she hesitated. Then she reached forward again. Her fingers rested lightly on his chest. Then they slid down his neck. She slipped her fingers underneath it. Vivian gently rolled the mask over his chin, exposing his mouth, and she stopped as she took his head in her hands and seeded A kiss square on his exposed lips.

Vivian's kisses grew more passionate. And suddenly it hit her. She was kissing her crush. Vivian was kissing this beautiful, amazing man. The feel of her tongues wrapping around his was one of the hottest things Vivian could imagine.

Vivian's hands gripped the front of Shogun's shirt, pulling him almost roughly closer so that their chests were pressed together. It was pouring rain as Vivian's kiss grow heavily, the two teens were wet, and water was dripping on the blond beauty face and skin as Vivian backed away, and once more, her fingers rearranged Ron's mask back into position around his neck. She rested her forehead against his chest.

Ron shot up his grapple to A building and shot straight upward. Vivian blush feeling hot all over her body while the rain pours down on her, watching him leave. "That kiss … oh, my god, that was hot, mmm, mamma like it …" Vivian said.
