"So...let me see if I have this correctly. You have been secretly dating—"

"We are not...technically dating." Elijah clears up, looking away from the road for a moment, before focusing his attention on driving again.

"Right. Secretly hooking up with Katerina for a couple of weeks, because you believe she's changed her ways and can be made into a good person." I state sarcastically.

"Katerina is a complex person." Elijah highlights.

"That's one way to put it..." I say, rolling my eyes.

"But I believe she has good in her. She hasn't done anything terrible in a really long time." Elijah states, and I look towards him confused.

"You do know I used Katherine to steal the cure, right?" I ask and he nods.

"Yes, but I don't necessarily consider that terrible, considering the fact that you told her to." Elijah says, and I still look at him confused. Does he not know what Katherine did to get the cure?

"Um...Elijah, what do you believe happened to Jeremy?" I asked, and Elijah looked at me curiously.

"What do you mean?" Elijah asks, and my eyes widen in realization. So, Katherine didn't tell him about killing Elena's brother.

"Um...you know what never mind. You will know eventually." I state, looking forward to the road. I can see Elijah at the corner of my eye, looking at me with suspicion before he focuses on driving again.

I would tell my brother about what Katherine did, but he dug his own grave by falling for her spell once again. The first time, he did not know better. This time, I cannot save him from his own downfall and something he knows deep down, is a mistake.

We drive for a few more hours, and we arrive in town at almost two o'clock. Elijah never likes to be late, so I am assuming once we get more into town, he is going to abandon me. He already made it crystal clear he does not want me interfering with this, and I decide to respect his word.

"So what am I going to do while you are off making out with Katherine?" I question, asking my brother as I get out of the car.

"Anything that doesn't attract attention." Elijah stated, fixing his suit. "I'll ask Katherine for the cure."

"You believe she is just going to give it to you?" I question and he looks at me with a smirk.

"Who would resist my charm?" Elijah states with a smile, before he vamp speeds away. I roll my eyes at his ignorance. 'Don't draw attention'. I am not the one being supernatural in public.

I walk around the town to see where Katherine has been residing. A peaceful place, indeed. I just wonder why Katherine would choose this town out of all places. It looks extremely boring.

"Interesting choice of location, Katherine." I stated, walking down the street.

"Who?" A lady asked, and I looked interestedly.

"No one, I was just talking to myself." I state.

"I have no idea who she is." The lady states, and I look at her with confusion.

"I never asked." I state, more rudely than I attended. The woman walked away, and I looked as she walked down the street. That was weird.

I walk to another person and ask who Katherine is. But they says they have no idea either. I realize that they may not know who she is, and I am just going up to strangers asking. I then try something that worked earlier and say her name while walking down the street.

People start to come up to me and say 'who?', or 'I don't know who that is' when I never even asked them personally. Looks like she compelled the whole entire town to not mention her existence. Smart girl.

A few minutes later, I get a call from Elijah. Thank god, this town was starting to creep me out. Acting like a cult.

"Hey, how was your meet up with Katherine?" I asked laughing.

"She never showed." Elijah explains and I look at the time.

"It took you ten minutes to figure that out? That's a long time to realize you've been stood up, Elijah." I stated in a joking manner.

"Katherine didn't show up, but Elena did." Elijah stated, and I started to get angry.

"What?" I asked seriously.

"Along with the Salvatore brothers and our sister. They are looking for the cure and I assume, that our sister is threatening Katherine to take it to them." Elijah states.

"Why would Elena care about the cure? Her humanity is off." I question.

"I'm assuming she does not, but the brothers do. As well as Rebekah who, like you said, wants nothing more than to be human. But, I care about more what Rebekah would do to Katherine if she does not give her the cure." Elijah explains and I roll my eyes in frustration.

"There's no way you're telling me you care that much about Katherine." I say in disgust.

"I thought you wanted to keep the cure away from them."

"I don't want Elena to have it. And Rebekah will easily take the cure away from them, so I do not know why it matters."

"Because she could hurt Katherine." Elijah explains.

"Again, it's not a priority of mine." I say, caring very little.

"Kalle." Elijah says in a stern voice. I really don't feel like spending my time saving Satan herself. But I also don't want to take the chance of Elena getting that cure.

"Fine. I'll find her." I state annoyed, and we both hang up the phone. God, this is incredibly annoying.

You know, it's funny, I didn't use a tracking spell to find my sister. Tracking someone by their phone is much more useful.

It was much quicker, and I arrived much faster. The distance was not that far, so I just walked there. On my way there, I saw something coming towards me very fast. It was definitely a vampire, but who?

Once they reach me, they stop and I see it's Katherine.

"Well, you seem safe." I state, kinda disappointed.

"What, do you care about my well-being?" Katherine says in a mocking tone.

"My brother surely does. It's amazing how he fell for your trap once again." I state, crossing my arms.

"It's not a trap. I actually care about Elijah." Katherine stated confidently.

"Whatever you say." I state not believing her. "So, where's my sister?"

"Back out the house...with the cure." Katherine states and I look at her suspiciously.

"You didn't give her the cure. It means too much to you to have Nik's freedom." I state knowingly, and Katherine gives me a smile. "You gave her a fake."

"Yep. And the affects of this fake cure should be working in at the moment. But if you could excuse, I have a date I am really late to." Katherine states, before vamp speeding away.

It is crazy how much everyone wants this stupid cure. Katherine better get out of town quick, because the moment Rebekah realizes it is fake, she will be in more than one original's crosshairs.

I finally arrive at the house, to see Damon, Stefan, and Rebekah all there.

"Well, isn't this a party." I state sarcastically, and Damon rushes at me, but I give him a migraine.

"AHHHH!" Damon screams in agony as Stefan and Rebekah just watch. With annoyance, I walk up to him.

"You done?" I question, and he frantically shakes his head and I stop. "Good."

"What are you doing here?" Damon asked, annoyed, quickly getting up from the floor.

"Well, originally I was here to get the cure from Katherine." I state and they all look at me shocked.

"Why do you want the cure now?" Stefan asked, looking at me.

"Because apparently Silas is in town tormenting my brother for the cure. He got into his head making him believe he was stabbed with the white oak." I explain and they all look at me with surprise.

"Silas made Nik go mad?" Rebekah asks and I nod.

"Yep. I figured I should let him suffer some more, but you know me. Can never let anyone hurt my family. No matter how angry I am at them." I state obviously, looking towards Rebekah.

"The cure isn't here." Damon stated in annoyance.

"Oh I am aware. Ran into Katherine on my way here and told me about the fake cure thing." I explain and Rebekah gets up angrily.

"Why didn't you stop her!" Rebekah screams at me.

"Because I have a feeling she is going to Elijah. And considering I am the only one who knows where he is..." I state and Rebekah's eyes widen.

"You've been with Elijah this entire time?" Rebekah asks and I nod.

"So if you want the cure sister, pretty sure this is your last chance to get it. Unless you would rather stay with these two." I state annoyed and Stefan gets up now.

"Wait, wait Rebekah. She can double cross you again." Stefan pleads, and I roll my eyes at him.

"Yeah, backstabbing seems to run in the family." Damon highlights.

Rebekah looks at them both with annyaonce before looking at me, and I give her a little smile and she smiles back.

"Sorry boys. But I trust my sister over you two any day." Rebekah states, before she grabs onto me.

"Always a pleasure seeing you two." I say sarcastically, before Rebekah vamp speeds us away from the house.

Later that evening, Rebekah and I went back to the car, but Elijah was not there. We actually waited for a little while, before I decided to call him. Said he needed some fresh air and would come back to the car when he was ready.

That was three hours ago. And the only person more impatient than me, is my baby sister, so you can just imagine my irritation.

But on the phone, he seemed really down and I was assuming it was because of Katherine. Guess he learned about her killing Jeremy and is not taking it well. Not to say that I pity him though. Everyone in the world knows the type of person Katherine is, he is just too blind to see it.

"Wait, there he is." Rebekah stated, and I looked over to where she was pointing.

"Is that Katherine walking up to him?" I questioned, and Rebekah noticed too.

"Oh, good. Now I can kill that bitch." Rebekah stated, but I stopped her.

"Wait. Just listen first." I explain, and she reluctantly stays back to listen.

If I have learned anything with Kol's death, is to never jump head first into anything. I already knew that. But now, I am taking into extra precaution. No matter how much I morn, how much I wish things could have been different, they happened. And nothing I can do now will change that.

But I can change future circumstances. For my family. I am still mad at Elena, at the Salvatore brothers, at Nik, at even Rebekah. Now what I will do to that gang in the future, I am still not sure. But my family is another story. No matter how mad I get at them, I will never abandon them, no matter what.

"Oh my god. That bitch gave him the cure." Rebekah states and I look at her surprised.

"Huh, maybe Katherine has changed her ways." I state in disbelief. Shortly after, Elijah walks over to the car.

"You and Katherine. And I thought you were the smart brother." Rebekah states.

"You have no smart brother. Turns out I'm just as stupid at the rest of you." Elijah states.

"I am just going to act like you are not lumping me into that statement." I state, highly offended.

"Well why don't you just give me the cure, so I can judge you silently elsewhere." Rebekah states. Elijah than looks down for a moment, before looking back at Rebekah.

"Kalle tells me you want to be human." Elijah states and Rebekah nods her head. "How do you know being human is the answer you're looking for? I mean it's nothing more than a romantic notion. The grass won't necessarily be greener, Rebekah."

"Maybe you right. But I don't care. I want to live a simple life like a normal person." Rebekah states, before turning to face me for a moment. "We have all had 20 lifetimes together, isn't that enough?"

"I-I just don't understand. I don't know why you consider our family such a burden. Always and forever. I mean those words are just as important as they are today, as they were a thousand years ago. Kalle, you agree with me, do you not?" Elijah asks me and Rebekah looks at me for my answer. Damn I did not want to be in this conversation.

"Um...I believe..." I look at them both nervously and take a deep breath before answer. "I believe our sister should be happy. And I am fully aware if she does become human, it will only be the three of us but we have lived for over a millennium. At a certain point Elijah, even you will say that you have had enough of this world. And our sister here just wants...she just wants some sense of normalcy, for one last lifetime."

Rebekah looks at me with a small smile and sincerity in her eyes. I met every word I said. Spending these last few days with Elijah, made me remember why I used to fight so hard to make my sister human. Because it did not only make her happy, it made me happy as well. To see a smile on her face.

She pulls me into a hug and I hug her back as well. She than pulls out, still hugging me from the side and she looks towards Elijah.

"I will always love you Elijah, I will always love all of you. But it's time I have chosen how I live...how I die. Not the way you and Nik want me to. Please..." Rebekah begs. "Please just give me the cure."

I than get a call, ruining this intense moment. I take my phone out and see it's Nik. Obviously, who else?

"What Nik?" I asked a tad annoyed.

"I wanted to see how your search for the cure was going?" Niklaus asks, and I look towards Rebekah and Elijah.

"There are some...complications going on." I state. "Why don't you speak to one of them now."

I hand the phone to Elijah, realizing Niklaus has no idea Elijah is back. Elijah than speaks to Niklaus about the cure and us going back to Mystic Falls.

Rebekah and I get into the car, while Elijah speaks and he gets in shortly after. Before, I would dread anytime I would go back to Mystic Falls. But now?

Now I need to have a serious talk with my dear older brother.
