Let me fill your heart with joy and laughter

Miroku and Sango did stay and were given a room to share.

"Even though I saw it with my own eyes, I still can't believe it," Sango said

"What exactly did he do?" Miroku asked as the night became late.

"He basically offered her everything, including his love."

"So, in a way, he told her he loved her?"

"In his own way."

"And the nose bump?"

"It was Inu, he was telling her to go back inside. By her obeying, she was telling him she trusted him to deal with us."

"So, she is coming into her demonic form,"

"More and more every day, I am sure."

They laid back on the bed still fully clothed.

Meanwhile, Sesshomaru's mother ordered Kagome to rest and then she went after her son.

"You did well." She stated from the other side of the writing desk he was using.

"Hn,"

"And she responded correctly."

"She is coming into her demonic nature," He agreed.

"Will you mate her soon?"

He looked up. "You accept her?"

"Is she dead?"

"You claimed her as pack quickly."

She looked at her claws. "I, son, am not as vain as you. I knew what she was before she changed. She is the one; there can be no other."

"Then I will state my claim."

His mother sat and looked him over. "Did you mean what you said?"

"Hn,"

"Tell me, can you give her what her human heart desires? While she is demonic, the heart does not forget."

His eyes met hers again. "What are you asking?"

"She will want laughter."

"Our children will give her that."

"And what of joy?"

He smirked.

"I did not say pleasure, you dog," She snapped.

"I told her friends to stay; that will bring her joy."

Her nose lifted. "Very well, I shall go and lay beside our packmate and keep her warm until you decide to make your move on her."

She then vanished and did just that. Kagome took to her like a daughter would her mother. After all, she would be her only mother for a long time to come.

The next day, laughter ensued. Sesshomaru had been correct; Kagome was very pleased to have her friends by her side.

Kagome sniffed, and her eyes found his. Their laughter stopped, but her smile remained on her face. Every day, she grew into her demonic sense. She could smell him, and she walked to him like in a trance. Miroku and Sango watched in amazement.

Kagome stopped, and though she tried to hide it, she sniffed.

He eyed her. "What do you smell,"

She blushed.

"Tell me,"

"I, I dont know,"

"But it drew you to me,"

"Was that wrong?"

"No," He reached out but stopped when he sensed his brother. The guy was lingering because he could not let it go.

"He is still lingering,"

"Return to your friends,"

"He is my friend,"

"Yet is I who needs to deal with this,"

"What will you say this time,"

"That his devotion is to her, mine is to you," He brushed his knuckles against her cheek, and she leaned into his touch.

Sango and Miroku looked at each other and then back at the couple. Sesshomaru backed away from Kagome and vanished, and Kagome returned to them and sat down like nothing happened.

But inside, her heart was swelling. The words he spoke were so deep and rich.

"Kagome?" Miroku's hand reached, but Kagome grabbed it and twisted, and before they knew it, Miroku was on his back.

"Oh my gosh, Im so sorry, Miroku!"

"Serves him right," Sango crossed her arms. Neither woman was really mad at him, and for a moment, Kagome felt human. They laughed and for a moment all was right in the world.
