"I have to admit, you're getting better faster than expected." Maki said tossing a bottle of water to an exhausted Yuji, "Thanks senpai, I have a great teacher." He replied making the girl smirk, "Damn right you do." The second year sat down next to her junior and took off her glasses, placing them on the side. Yuji looked at the girl in interest, "Don't you need them to see?" he asked making her glance at the eye wear, "Nah, I can see perfectly fine." This only confused the boy more, "Unlike most sorcerers I cant see curses normally so I need these curse imbued glasses to help me see them." Maki explained picking the object up.
Yuji after nodding, he looked at his senior intensely rubbing his chin thinking, getting annoyed she hit the boy on top of his head, "Why are you staring like a creep?" she asked ready to hit him again. The boy protected his head and move back explaining himself, "I just thought that you looked cute without them on. I-I'm not trying to saying you don't look cute with them on but-" he was cut off and Maki kicked him away with a blush on her face. "Idiot." She muttered as she walked away leaving the boy to wonder on what he did. Sighing, Yuji made his way back to his dorm room where he flopped down on his bed and grabbed his notebook opening it to a new segment about cursed energy.
Reversed cursed technique
This is the process of converting negative cursed energy positive cursed energy. While negative cursed energy flows from the stomach, positive energy is directed from the user's brain. Therefore, an effective countermeasure for reverse cursed technique users is to destroy their head with an attack without giving them a chance to recover. Negative energy that destroys becomes positive energy that creates hence why it is most commonly used to heal a person.
"This makes no sense." Yuji muttered in defeat and skipped over it to read something else when he heard a knock on his door before Megumi walked in, "Put on your uniform, we have a mission." He said to his peer who nodded and quickly changed before they met up with Nobara. With haste the three were sent out to Eishuu Reform School, where the was a sighting of a cursed womb. "Why are we going instead of Gojo sensei?" Nobara asked Megumi who explained that the higher up had sent him on another mission and there were no other sorcerers aside from them to take care of it.
After arriving they were briefed on their mission which were to investigate the disappearance of three people after the sighting of the womb. Yuji walked in the building a bit shaken thanks to the protests of a mother outside, who was looking for her son but he pulled himself together after some words from Megumi. Once inside Megumi realized that they had entered an incomplete domain after he saw that the door, they came through was not there anymore. He then summoned one of his shikigami dogs to find the missing people and to warn them if any curse was coming at them.
The group continued to walk deeper until they found the mangled bodies of three inmates which were the people they were looking for. Yuji saw one of the inmates name tags and noticed that it was the son the mother from outside was looking for, "Lets take them outside." He told the others going to grab the corpse but he was stopped by Megumi who looked at him sternly. He gave a grounded explanation as to why they couldn't do it which made Yuji want to argue but he bites his tongue and nods in understanding. "Ok lets-" Nobara was cut off as a puddle formed under her and sucked her down through the floor.
"Nobara?.." Yuji looked at the spot the girl was standing on in confusion while Megumis breath caught in his throat, "No way, my shikigami should have sensed the curse!" he thought as he looked around spotting his dog stuck in a wall, dead. "Yuji, were running!" Megumi started but before he could say more, both boys froze as they could see the curse standing next to them by the corner of their eyes. "There's no mistaking it.. Its a special grade curse." He tried his best to move but his body wouldn't allow him to. Yuji had a flash back of his grandfather as he bite his lip hard drawing blood before gathering his cursed energy, "Trace.." before he could finish his incarnation he was punched straight into a wall by the curse.
"Y-Yuji?" Megumi questioned looking back at his friend who had his hands crossed showing that he had blocked the attack but he soon coughed out blood. The curse when to strike at Megumi but Yuji quickly got back up and grabbed him by the shirt making the curse miss before throwing him next to a door. "...On." The pink haired sorcerer finished materializing Dojigiri Yasutsuna, he spat out some blood and got into a fighting stance, "Megumi, go search for Nobara. I'll keep this thing distracted." Yuji said glaring at the curse who grinned. "You can't be serious! Thats a special grade curse, you can't win alone! Lets just run!" Megumi shouted at his peer getting ready to summon a shikigami.
"I can't do that. Even if we ran it'd catch up to us before we could blink and there's a high chance it could escape and kill all the people outside." Yuji reasoned which made his peer bite his tongue, "Fuck alright! You better not die or I'll kill you myself." The black-haired bot shouted before running out of the room to look for his other team mate. Yuji glanced back at his friend with a smile, "That doesn't even make sense." After that passing comment he focusing his attention on the cursed spirit. The sorcerer bolted to the curse doing a sideway attack which was easily blocked, not letting up he spun the other way and lowered his stance to leg swipe it but it also blocked the attempt.
Yuji switched to a reverse grip on his sword and thrusted it upward to stab its head but it back stepped to dodge before kicking into the air. He flipped himself upright in time to block an attack with his sword but the weapon broke in the process. Clicking his tongue, the boy threw the broken sword to the side while he made another one, the moment the boy landed he blasted at the curse getting into a heated exchange of attacks. After deflecting five attacks Yuji's weapon broke again but not letting that stop his momentum, he instantly made another sword to continue their clash.
Hit, break, create, repeat; the process continued for minutes until Yuji grew tired and sloppy getting himself hit by a curse imbued punch, sending him flying through a wall into another room of the building. Bouncing off the ground, the boy felt himself losing consciousness "Not yet.." he heard himself, feeling a flicker of curse energy pulse, "Not yet!!" Yuji's eyes snapped open as he flipped and landed against the wall before using it as a stepping stone to launch himself back at the curse. With a scream he sent out an attack but before it could hit, he saw his right arm which was holding his sword get cut off. As the two objects floated in the air, the boy used his other hand to grab the back of his severed hand which still firmly held the swords handle before crushing it to get a better grip on his weapon to sent another attack but like his right, his left got cut off.
The curse then sent an energy blast at the boy sending him through the floor down to the shallow water below. He landed at a dry area on the floor and sat against a wall looking down at his lap, "I hope they made it out." Yuji coughed out sensing the curse coming down to finish the job, "Sorry Megumi, seems like I couldnt keep my promise." Sitting there, the boy looked at the two blood puddles forming besides him, a trail of blood going between his legs combining the two puddles before a new trail flowed over into the water. "Two reds make blue?" the boy asked himself confusedly, the liters of blood loss affecting his rational thinking, "Red?...Blue?..." he pondered his thoughts drifting back to earlier today. 'Reverse Curse Technique is the process of converting negative cursed energy positive cursed energy'
Yujis dim eyes widened in realization, "Two reds make blue.. Red x Red= Blue ... Negative x Negative= Positive!" he put his words into action. He split his cursed energy into two parts before slowly stacking them together, difficult at first but he quickly got the hang of it feeling his cursed energy change. In an instant negative emotions turn into positive, the sudden change filling and effecting Yujis brain like a strong drug. "Simple.." the boy muttered as a bright yellow aura surrounded him, "So simple..." he said again one of his arms growing back like nothing happened. He grabbed his face and stroked it before throwing his head back exploding in laughter, "It was so fucking simple!" he shouted laughing harder as the curse landed and looked at the boy confused.
"Oh hey." Yuji greeted the curse after noticing it and wiping away a tear, "Look look, I got my arms back!" the boy said in excitement standing up and showing off his regrown arms. Yuji felt good, like really good, like he was on top of the world good; his senses felt clearer and sharper, and the flow of his cursed energy felt much smoother. Thanks to these improvements, he was able to side step the sharp punch aimed at his head, "Woah the buddy. You almost took my head off." Yuji whined reinforcing his leg with cursed energy before kicking the curse to the side into the water. Angered the curse flared it's curse energy sent a energy blast towards the boy but to its surprise he appeared in front of it, sword in hand and cut both its legs off before grabbing the back of its head and kneeing it hard carving its head in.
Growing it's legs back it sent a kick the boys way, he blocked with his forearm which resulted in it snapping two the bone piercing through his skin, "Ow that hurt, jerk!" Yuji complained as it instantly healed. It tried to attack him again but in a quick motion he cut one of the attacking arm before stabbing it through its midsection, "Hey hey, you wanna know a secret? Like a super-secret? One you can't tell anyone?" the boy asked leaning his face closer to the curse who kicked him back leaving the sword stuck in it. "I'm sure you want to know." Yuji smiled cartwheeling to a stop, "It's about my cursed technique after all." He added making the curse tilt its head in interest.
"Aha! Knew you'd be interested. Sooo when I make a cursed weapon, I add an additional amount of negative cursed energy to help in stabilizing and strengthening it. If that's the case what do you think will happen when I exchange that negative cursed energy for positive cursed energy?" He grinned as the curse's eye widened getting a back feeling and grabbed the sword, "It's just a guess but positive and negative energy doesn't mix all that well and because of that the cursed weapon becomes unstable resulting in a.." The curse pulled the sword out as it started glowing but before it could throw it away, "Cursed Technique Reversal: Trigger off." Yujis grin grew as the weapon exploded in the curses hand blowing it away and making it scream in pain as it tried to regenerate it's lost limp but for some reason it couldnt.
"Yes it worked!" Yuji screamed throwing his hands and head back and grinning up at the ceiling, after getting it's bearings the curse attacked. Not moving the sorcerer glanced down at the approaching curse, "Trace on." a three-section staff appeared in the boy's hand as he spun around and smacked the curse through three pillars, "Playful cloud." He called out the name of his cursed weapon and got into a low stance, before chasing after the curse and hitting it straight into the ground. The curse dodged the follow up attack and grabbed Yuji's leg and started spinning him around before throwing him into a wall breaking some ribs.
Not letting that stop him he healed himself and started his assault running his cursed energy through his weapon giving it more power. He lowered himself in a rapid spin, his staff cutting through the air before colliding with the curses leg causing it to buckled and snap in two. Not stopped, he reversed his spin and slammed the weapon in the curses midsection as a loud crunching sound echoed through the room causing the curse to cough out a lot of blood. Swinging the staff upward he collided with the curse's chin launching it into the air, before jumping after it he looked at his weapon in wonder. Grabbing both end sections, he grinded them together which caused it sharpen, "Cool." Yuji said admiring the sparks flying around him before following after the still airborne curse.
He sat on the spirit before unleashing a furry of slams and stabs on the curse, his opponent tried to retaliate by sending cursed attacks but the moment it hit, the boy used reverse cursed energy to heal himself, resulting in him not stopping. As they approached the ground Yuji stabbed one end of his staff into the curse's chest near the heart before breaking it off and stabbing the other sharp section into it's neck then stabbed the middle section into the side of it's head before giving a crazed smile, "Trigger off." A large explosion was set off covering both opponents and destroying half of the room. When everything calmed down, Yuji stood above the disappearing curse most of his body burned to a crisp and his arm gone but slowly regenerating. Looking down at the curse he saw Sukanas finger and picked it up and started making his way out of the collapsing domain, "Man I'm hungry."
"Woah." Gojo Satoru was left amazed looking at his student who just finished telling him about his fight with the special grade cursed spirit, "Not only did he learn Reverse cursed technique, he defeated a special grade." The man chuckled and shook his head as he ruffled his students head. "I knew you had potential to be a special grade sorcerer but this is just mind-blowing kid." Gojo commented making the now normal Yuji smile. "By the way sensei, what did you want to show me?" the student asked remembering that his teacher had called him for something else, "Oh right." The man snapped his fingers before taking a hold of the teen and teleporting them into an unknown room in a remote area.
Yuji looked around in interest as his teacher signaled to come closer to the only table in the room, "I wanted to give you two weapons from my past. I'm putting a lot of trust in you since one of these almost killed me but knowing you, I'm sure youre going to use them for the right reason." Gojo explained before removing the cloth covering the table to reveal said weapons. First was a katana but unlike normal katanas, this one had a wider blade and its hit was made from white fur; the other weapon was a dagger with a jitte-shaped blade, It has a «q» shaped circular hand guard that points out on the side of the longer blade and the weapon has a black handle with a circular link at the end.
"I introduce you the Soul Splitting Katana and the Inverted Spear of Heaven. The former is able to directly cut the soul of something meaning it can cut through anything no matter how strong it's skin is and the latter can nullify any curse technique, including my limitless hence why it was able to almost kill me." Gojo explained as the boy looked over the weapons admiring them and their craftsmanship. "Sensei, you sure I can use these?" Yuji looked at the man unsure if he could really trace them, Gojo smiled and nodded stepping back. Taking a deep breath the boy looked back at the objects in front of him, "Trace on." His cursed energy spurred as he started scanning and making copies of the weapons. After a few seconds, Yujis energy calmed down as he stepped back, "It's done." He said to which his teacher nodded to.
"Make the inverted spear of heaven." Gojo told the boy, soon after another dagger appeared in the young sorcerers hand as he spun it around. "Good, try stabbing me. Slowly." The older man instructed as his student walked closer did as told looking amazed as the dagger pierced though limitless and touched Gojo in the chest, "Holy-" "I know right." the man chuckled as the dagger disappeared. "And now..." Gojo took a hold of his student and teleported them above the small shack which was in the middle of the forest, "...To get rid of the originals." He let Yuji go who was surprised as he started floating and looked at his sensei who got a cursed technique ready, "Cursed technique lapse: Blue. Cursed technique reversal: Red." The man called out as two red and blue balls formed besides him before combining into one purple one, "Hollow purple." Gojo said as he launched the attack straight at the shack completely erasing it from existence along with the two weapons inside.
Making sure nothing was left, Gojo teleported them back to Yuji's dorm, "Now my dear student pack your bags." The man said confusing his student so he elaborated, "A month and a half from now, there's going to be the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill event where Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu campuses fight against each other. So, during that time youre going to be training under me." Gojo explained making the boy smile widely, "Thank you for this opportunity sensei. Since I'm getting training from the strongest then I know I'll get leagues stronger." Yuji said making the man grin his mind flashing back to when he told the kid he was the strongest sorcerer the is. "But sensei, why do I need to pack a suitcase?" the boy wondered, to that the teacher wiped out two plane tickets, "Where's going on a trip."
AN: Lemme address some stuff in this chapter:
1.Yujis behavior after learning how to use the reverse cursed technique: From my understanding, the sudden rush of positive cursed energy to a beginner, acts like a drug which causes them to become high and act erratic. Like how in the beginning, right after Gojo used RCT to revive himself he became unhinged but throughout the fight with Toji he slowly got off his high and went back to normal.
2.Yuji defeating special grade: You can argue that its too early for Yuji to be able to defeat a special grade because of the small timeframe before the incident but you have to keep in mind that hes been training non stop with Maki whos arguably a grade 1 sorcerer at this time. Adding to that Yuji is a fast learner when it comes to combat meaning he can catch things faster than most and unlike the original he has a cursed technique at his disposal and knows how to use cursed energy.
3.Why the sudden improvement in Yujis senses: Still going off of my understanding of RCT, he subconsciously infused his senses with reverse cursed energy helping in improving them.
4.When did Yuji trace Playful Cloud: When Gojo handed it to Maki, which is not stated when but is confirmed that she was given it before the Goodwill Event.
