Scott woke up, his head thumped and the bright lights in the room weren't helping. He sits up, seeing Sara sitting at the office desk. They were in Alec's old room onboard the Hyperion.
"Sara?" he whispers. She turns, her brows going up in surprise as she rushes over.
"Don't. You need to stay still," she sternly says. She holds her hands on his chest to push him back down. "Harry has looked you over, you're fine but your implant was completely fried."
"So it's gone?" Sara chuckles, shaking her head.
"No, they got you a new one. Never know when you might need to take over the family business," she jokes. "We've settled on Meridian. The ark is stuck here now, might as well call it home."
"And the other worlds?" Sara smiles, looking over at the terminal.
"Flourishing," she answers. "SAM is back and fully functional as well. Ain't that right, buddy?" Sara's omni-tool comes to life.
"Yes, I am now back where I belong. How are you feeling, Scott?" SAM asks. Scott raises a brow at Sara, SAM sounded... different.
"SAM, you sound so sincere?" he asks. Sara and even SAM partly chuckle.
"With my experience between you, Sara and the Archon. I've been given new data and knowledge about the process. I am able to alter my sentient being to how I see fit and I am now fully aware of my surroundings and behaviour." Sara was nearly up in joy when SAM first told her. He cared and finally, truly told her she was his best friend as well.
"Well, I'm glad you're back. You're part of the Ryder family after all," Scott says, yawning. He places both his hands on his stomach as Sara pulls the duvet over him.
"Right, get some sleep. Harry still has you on sick leave for two weeks." She stands up, heading towards the door. "You really need to stop sleeping in," she says with a smirk.
"Haha. Very funny," Scott mockingly laughs. They both stare at each for a moment. "I love you, big sis."
Sara cranes her head to the side with a lopsided smile. "I love you too, little bro. Now sleep!" she sternly adds as she leaves. Scott throws her a mocking salute before the doors shut. Ryder couldn't even get outside the door until she sees Tann, Kandros, Addison and Kesh standing right beside the door in a small huddle. "Fucking hell, you scared me," she says throwing a hand to her chest.
Kesh chuckles slightly, "we are sorry. We just wanted to run something past you," she says looking at Tann.
"You sure Tann isn't meant to have the final decision?" They all look at him, he clears his throat and puts his hands behind his back.
"You're our hero, Ryder. Your voice carries more meaning than anyone here. We need to think about fast-tracking a new government here in Andromeda. Of course, there is the native Angara we must put first, this was their home first. We want you to choose an ambassador, one to represent all species. They will travel the cluster, bringing peace to all." Ryder leans against her hip, looking down the corridor. People stood in small huddles as they celebrated their victory. She could hear the music, laughs and cheers of everyone out in the main lobby. She wanted to find Reyes, he was waiting for her.
"The Angara was here first. Moshea Sjefa should be the first. She has more experience than any of us and has knowledge not even SAM could explain." She lied partly with that, but the Moshea was a smart and tactical woman. No one would double-cross her.
Tann grunts, shaking his head slightly. "We should have one of our own representing," he mutters.
"The other Pathfinders would agree," Addison says.
Ryder narrows her brows, glaring at each of them. "Right, you asked for my council and I gave it. Stop thinking like the Milky Way species. We are not there anymore. Do the right thing, Tann."
"Your words carry truth, Sara," Kesh says.
"Fine," Tann mutters walking away. They all follow, and Addison hangs back.
"How's Scott?" she whispers. She and Ryder start walking out towards the main lobby.
"Well, he just needs rest," she answers. Addison smiles, placing a firm hand on her shoulder.
"I'm glad. Well done Ryder. You proved us all wrong, your father would be proud of you," she says before squeezing slightly and walking away. Ryder lets her eyes roam the room until she locks the hazel eyes she'd missed. Reyes was staring right back at her, leaning lazily against a wall.
"Pathfinder," he greets with a smirk.
Ryder shakes her head, looking at him before moving closer and wrapping her arms around his neck. Reyes held her waist tightly. "Mr Vidal."
"You would make a perfect Mrs Vidal," he whispers in her ear. Ryder almost froze on the spot, she felt Reyes's chest rumble in laughter as she flustered.
"If you're going to propose, you do it properly or not at all," she whispers back.
"Well, I don't have a ring, I guess today's not that day." He pulls back slightly. "Want to slip away for a few moments? Found a great storage room, scheduled and dark?"
"Wow, a storage room. You spoil me, Vidal," she says, kissing him. They missed each other's lips, Reyes cups her cheek as his tongue slipped into her mouth. Ryder held back the moan. "We need to get out of here before I let you take me here and now," she whispers.
A dark look comes over Reyes, he smirks and pulls her along. Ryder looks back, she sees Cora looking at her with a big smile and thumbs up. She definitely wasn't going to hear the end of this.
Reyes took her away from the celebrations and down the many corridors until he found the storage room he wanted. It was locked but he was able to hack it fairly quickly. He pushes Ryder inside, she stumbles over crates. "I've missed you, I hate sharing you with the riff-raff," he mutters as he cups her ass and pulls her up to sit on a crate.
"I missed you too," she moans as he kisses her neck. Her legs wrap around his thighs pulling him closer. He'd taken his armour off and only wore his undersuit, she could feel his hardness through the thick cotton. "God, I need you, Reyes," she groans.
He growls and nips her neck, then runs his tongue over her sensitive skin. Ryder brushes her fingers through his hair. They both pull back to fumble their lower half clothing down. This was too craved to take slow. Reyes pumps his dick in his hand a few times before going back to Ryder, she was definitely ready for him.
He lines himself up, pushing ever so slowly in. His head drops to his shoulder as her hot folds engulf him. "Fuck, Ryder," he shudders. Ryder pulls his hair slightly, getting access to his neck as she trails kisses down his veins.
Once his size was accommodated, Reyes started to rock his hips. The darkroom quickly fills with sounds of moans and grunts. They kissed each other, their lips were wet and sloppy. But it was all happening so quickly, that they barely noticed or cared.
Reyes drops his hands to her hips, pulling and pushing her to patch his movements. "Tan mojado," he grunts.
"Tan grande," Sara whispers back. Reyes rocks his hips faster, the sound of his undersuit slapping Ryder's thighs was white noise to them.
"I told you she didn't go down here!" a voice calls from outside. They both froze, two male voices were whispering.
"I'm telling you, man, I saw her walking down here with some shady foreign dude," the other shouts. Ryder can only giggle, Reyes didn't care. He carried on fucking her, he put a firm hand over Ryder's mouth as she tries to moan.
The door was locked, SAM made sure of that. But the two men tried to open it. Reyes practically growled in agitation. "SAM, sort this," he grunts, not stopping his rocking hips.
There was silence until SAM's voice filled the corridor speakers. "This is an unrestricted area. Please return to the main lobby, security has been called," he firmly says. Reyes smirks as he hears muffled swearing and heavy footsteps of runnings.
"Thanks," he mutters, turning his attention back to Sara. Her pupils were more black than blue as they dilated, he could tell she was close when her thighs started to shake. "Cum for me, Sara," he huskily says as he bites her shoulder. He moved his hand from her mouth as she clasped her body around him, shaking uncontrollably.
Reyes savours her souring heat before finally orgasming himself. He grunts and swears as he rocks unsteadily, feeling him fill her to the brim. "Fuck," he grunts. They both share a warm kiss before pulling back.
"We need to head back," Sara whispers as she gets his uniform back on. Reyes tries to sort his hair out, but Ryder has truly messed it up. "What are you doing after this?"
"I need to head back to Kadara. I have some business to take care of," he answers. They both walk back hand in hand. The party was still in full swing but Ryder's crew stood in a small huddle as they waited for their Pathfinder.
"I've got to visit some of the other worlds, make sure the vaults are working correctly. I'll come by Kadara last, I can get some leave. I fucking earnt it at least," she whispers. They all stopped by the crew, their eyes roamed the couple. Seeing Ryder's flushed cheeks and Reyes's messy hair.
"You guys seriously couldn't wait?" Peebee laughs. Ryder goes bright red, as Reyes only smirks. He pulls her close, turning her head to look at him.
"I await your arrival, little dove. Fly safe," he mutters as he kisses her. The crew all gave a mixture of awws and ewws.
"I love you," she whispers. Reyes kisses her forehead.
"I love you too," he replies. He says goodbye to the rest of the crew before heading out with his remaining forces. He didn't lose too many people during the initial fight, but he definitely needed to recruit again.
"Guys, go celebrate. We will leave soon," she says, waving everyone off. The other Pathfinders came over, shaking hands with Ryder.
"Pathfinder Ryder. It's good to see you safe and well," the Salarian Pathfinder says with a smile.
"Thank you, all of you. I couldn't have done this without any of you," she says with a warm smile. "What is next for you all?"
"We have assignments of our own to fulfill. Enjoy your time here, Ryder. You deserve this, you and your crew have worked so hard." Vaderia holds Ryder's hands in her, looking at Ryder's crew who were all dancing and celebrating together. "Your father created this role, but you defined what it truly is," she whispers. Ryder smiles, her eyes glistening with tears. She wished Alec was here to celebrate with them.
"Thank you," she chokes. She hugs her fellow Pathfinders and heads over to celebrate. She danced the night away with her crew, they all deserved it. Ryder knew she had work left to do, but soon she would retire from being Pathfinder. She loved the job, but she loved Reyes more. She wanted a settled life with him.
