The crew stood around the crew table. Scott sat down on the corner couch as his sister and Reyes both stood at the head of the table. Word spread about what happened and the crew were not at all happy that their Pathfinder was leaving them.
"I know you all didn't expect this to happen. But..." Sara looks at Reyes, she wasn't sure what she was meant to even say to make this easier.
"Can't we fight this? It's not fair," Liam shouts in anger. They all looked at Scott, he knew they hated him just as much as Tann. But he was now the Pathfinder and they had to accept that.
"Scott will do fine filling my shoes, just listen to him alright." Drack growled as he stood next to Jaal.
"No offence kid, but you aren't who we chose to follow," he says looking at Scott.
"This is not his fault," Jaal defends his loved one. Scott stands up, walking over to him. He wanted to stand next to his sister, but the glare she was giving him made him rethink that idea.
"Guys, don't do this. I am leaving, but I'll be back," she says looking at each of the crew.
"Where are you both going?" Peebee asks.
"Kadara Port," Reyes answers. "She will help me run things there," he quietly adds.
"So you're going into exile?" Cora asks with agitation. She knew she should have been chosen for the Pathfinder, she'd already been bumped down when Alec died. Now Scott was getting it when he had no experience.
"We are not exiles," Reyes sternly states. "We have proven ourselves more than enough to make that clear." Cora only rolls her eyes at him.
"Let's just go," Sara says as she starts to back away. "I love you all, but this wasn't a good idea."
"Don't go like this, Sara," Liam says as he steps forward. Sara holds Reyes' arm as they both stand at the top of the ramp.
"I can't look at you all and say goodbye. I just need to go," she says as she looks at Scott. "Goodbye... Scott. Make dad proud." She didn't really mean it, but hopefully, he'd now understand just how stressful this job was.
"Sara," Scott whispers. But she and Reyes left, the crew were silent as they looked at their new Pathfinder. "Let's get back to work guys," he says before storming off. He really had to hurry in getting Sara back as Pathfinder.
"You okay, dove?" Reyes asks as he loads the last of their belongings on the shuttle he'd bought to get them back to Kadara. He was going to get a pilot, but he could do just fine on his own.
Sara sat in the co-pilot seat, trying her best not to cry. "I guess, I just hated leaving them like that," she mutters.
"I know, dove. We will get you back soon," he says from behind her headrest. Sara looks up, smiling at him.
"Ryder, Scott is asking for access to your Pathfinder files. May I grant him that?" Sara wasn't sure why SAM was even asking her. She thought he'd have no choice in the matter.
"Why are you asking me?" she asks, looking down at her omni-tool. Reyes got into the pilot seat and started the pre-flight checklist.
"Scott is not yet Pathfinder, I can ignore his requests since I am still connected to you. You are still my main priority." Sara looks at Reyes, he just nods towards her omni-tool to answer him.
"I want all files regarding the secrets dad kept to be sealed for me only. He can have the rest," she says.
"Done," SAM replies as he goes silent.
"You ready?" Reyes asks as the engines come to life. Sara looked out the window, she could see the Tempest. That was her home for a long time, now she was leaving it all behind.
"Yeah," she whispers as Reyes pulls the ship out of the dock. She let the tears fall as the ship moved further and further from her line of sight.
Kadara Port was dead ahead as Reyes brought the shuttle into the planet's atmosphere. Ryder had fallen asleep in the back, she was trying to keep her spirits up. But she was truly lost without her ship and crew.
"Welcome back, Mr Vidal," his docking operative calls through the comms as Reyes lines the ship up with his personal docking bay. He could see Keema waiting outside with some guards. Reyes looks over at Ryder, she is out cold.
The shuttle makes a perfect touchdown, Reyes shuts everything down and quickly goes through the landing logs before he finally gets up and goes to wake Ryder.
"Sara," he whispers as he pushes her shoulder gently. She hums, burrowing her face deeper into the seat. "Dove, we are here," he says. Ryder opened her eyes, she still looked shattered.
"Did I sleep the whole way?" she asks, yawning. Reyes pushes the cargo door button for them to open. Two of his men were waiting at the bottom of the ramp, ready to take their stuff to his new apartment.
"Pretty much, yeah," he answers as he helps her up. She yawns again, rubbing her eyes to get rid of the sleep. "Come on, I've got a surprise for you."
"Is it a bed?" she asks with a chuckle.
"It does have a bed, yes," he answers truthfully. He grabs a couple of bags, Sara carries SAM's main node tightly in her arms. She made sure he was coming with her, even though he'd made it clear there wasn't much point as he followed her anywhere she went.
"The weather outside is warmer by two degrees since the vault was activated, Ryder," SAM calls on her private channel.
"Is it safe to swim yet?" she asks him.
"I would need scanning results to answer that." Ryder nods, she missed swimming. Kadara pools, even though toxic, were very pretty to look at.
"Reyes, Ryder. Welcome back," Keema calls with wide arms. She waits for them to descend the ramp and pulls Ryder into a short hug. Reyes just nods at her with a small smile.
"Hi Keema," she whispers.
"Now, now. What is wrong dear?" she asks as Ryder feels her tears well up yet again. She never got Keema, but the Angara was so warm and calming to be around. Ryder could tell Keema her darkest secrets without even needing to be asked to.
"I..." Ryder whimpers. Reyes pulls her close, shaking his head at Keema.
"Not now, I just want to get her inside and rest." Keema smiles and nods, leading them both down the stairs of the docking bay and towards the main Port. Ryder could see the differences between Sloan running Kadara and Reyes. The place was actually welcoming, street vendors were happy to sell their items and the residents weren't fighting or arguing anymore.
"It's peaceful here," she whispers into Reyes' chest as they walk together.
"I do good work," he laughs, praising himself.
Keema takes them across the main port and down some back alleys, it was odd to Ryder. She'd never seen these parts of the Port. She never realised how big it really was. Reyes lets her walk first up some stairs and they finally make it to an apartment building scheduled from the others below it. It was almost like a small mansion.
"This isn't your place?" Ryder asks as she looks at the pristine metal building. It was new for Kadara's standards, built with what materials were available.
"I don't live there anymore, this is my home... our home," he quickly corrects himself. Sara smiles widely for the first time in days. She instantly fell in love with the house.
"Go inside," Keema shoos them both in. "Leave their bags here," she orders her men. Reyes thanks her as she departs and lets them be alone.
Ryder opens one of the big double doors, inside was something she wasn't expecting at all. An open planned floor with furniture she'd thought she'd never see again. The walkway had a small wooden table with flowers from Harval in the middle, it was rounded off towards the living room that held a grey corner sofa. The vidscreen took up one full side of the wall in front of the sofa.
"Where did you get all these?" she asks as she feels each soft cushion on the sofa.
"I have my ways," Reyes replies. He heads to the kitchen. Sara sees the oak finished dining table that could easily hold ten chairs around it. It currently has six, two at each end and two on the sides. She glides her nails along with the wood, her memories of home came flooding back. The kitchen was much like any kitchen she could find in Andromeda. It had a shining marble finish to the countertops and a kitchen island with amenities to accommodate it.
"Reyes this place is beautiful," she exclaims as she stops in front of him. He was leaning in the fridge, grabbing a bottle of water for them both.
"I'm glad you like it. If there was anything you wanted to change, you can. This is your home, do what you want with it," he says as he closes the fridge. Ryder grabs the water from him, taking a small sip. "Go upstairs," he says pointing at the spiral staircase behind her.
Ryder goes up, feeling the cold metal under her soaks. It really felt like she was back in the Milky Way. Reyes followed her, there was just one room at the top of the stairs. A bedroom with a king-size bed in the middle of it. A smaller room led to the en-suite and the rest of the room was decorated with drawers, pictures, a walk-in wardrobe and massive glazed windows.
"Reyes... is that... a pool?" Ryder asks in shock as she looks past the bed frame to the balcony. Reyes can only chuckle, as he walks past her. Opening the slide doors to let her see a swimming pool built into the balcony. "Oh my god, how the hell did you do all this?"
"I have many contacts, Ryder. And many owed me favours, you'd be surprised what people bring across dark space." He takes the bottle of water out of her hand, placing it on the table beside the bed. "Come here, dove," he whispers.
Ryder gulps before stepping closer. Reyes pulls her into his chest, lowering his neck to catch her lips in a desperate kiss. "I've missed this," she whispers as she pulls back. Reyes feels his chest explode, he pulls her along towards the bed. Picking her up and throwing her into the mountain of pillows.
"Take your pants off," he huskily orders. Ryder wastes no time doing so, Reyes watches with predator eyes. "Good girl," he soothes. He climbs onto the bed, pulling her lower so her leg could go over his shoulder.
"What are you doing?" she asks with a deep breath. Reyes blows lightly against her clit. She was already soaking, just the thoughts of Reyes were enough for Ryder to become so horny.
"You have been so tense, Princesa. Allow me to relax you," he says as he licks her clit. Ryder pushes her head back into the pillows, her neck craning back. Reyes works his tongue like a professional.
"Fuck," she whimpers. She covers her eyes with her forearm, letting out small huffs of moans and groans. Reyes holds her thighs tightly, his fingers massaging them. "Reyes," she moans.
He pulls back, staring at her with blown up eyes. Ryder smirks at him as he licks his top lip. He gets off the bed, standing just off the end of it. "Get on all fours," he orders. His voice was dry and croaky, Ryder just moaned in response as she got on her hands and knees. He pulls her towards the end of the bed, letting her lower legs dangle off.
Ryder was expecting to hear Reyes' zip come down, but he wraps an arm around her waist and forces two fingers inside her tight folds. It takes all of Ryder's power to not drop to her chest. Reyes moves his free hand from her waist to her hand, grabbing a handful and pulling. "You are so tight," he groans as her neck is bent back.
"Yes," she moans. Reyes starts to move his wrist, pushing in and out fast. Ryder moves her body to his hand, trying to get a rhythm going. "Reyes, please," she moans.
"What do you want to do? Use your words," he replies. Ryder drops her mouth open, whimpering unhearable words. "Dove," he sternly says. He pushes a third finger in, feeling the moisture of Ryder opening up for him.
"I want you to... make me.. cum," she cries. Reyes chuckles, letting go of her hair so he could rub her clit instead.
"You're such a good girl for me," he says with a deep tone. Ryder moans loudly in response. "Do you like my voice?" he asks, rubbing her clit and catching his moving hand inside her soaking wet folds. She was close by her hips bucking against his wrist.
"Yes."
"Cum for me," he orders. It takes a few more seconds of him fucking her with his fingers when she finally drops into the bed, shaking uncontrollably. Reyes wipes his soaked fingers against his covered boner. He rounds to the bed so he can pick her up, Ryder just looks at him with loving, tired eyes. Her thighs are shaking.
"What about you?" she asks, knowing full well he was hard as hell for her.
"I can wait, dove. You need rest, sleep and I'll come join you soon," he murmurs into her hair. He places her at the head of the bed, letting her get comfy as he pulls the duvets over her. "I love you, dove."
"I love you too, Reyes," she whispers as her hair cushions the four feathered pillows under her head. Reyes smiles as she quickly falls to sleep.
He leaves the room, going back downstairs to grab the last of their bags. "SAM, can you make sure Ryder gets enough sleep."
"Yes, Mr Vidal. I will control her sleeping patterns and make sure most of it consists of REM sleep to give her body a chance to heal her mental state." Reyes nods at the node. He moved SAM to his office, it was a better place for the AI to be. Word would soon spread about Ryder being on Kadara and her powerful AI being here as well.
"I'll be back soon, SAM," he says leaving the room.
"Have a good afternoon, Mr Vidal," the AI says before the door closes. Reyes needed to teach SAM to use his first name, he'd already told him more than once he hated being called Mr Vidal unless it was for business purposes.
Reyes adjusted his boner, he was so horny. But knew Ryder would struggle with sex with how upset and tired she'd been. He groans before finally leaving his home to go see Keema.
