NERO1002: Sorry, just kidding. She's just so easy to fit in as an actual police officer that I almost forgot.

Guest: Shinji x Morgan le Fay... What drugs did you take to think that up and where can I get some?

last admiral: Easy, soldier. It's a slow build up. So far, it's Sakura, Taiga, Caren and Kane... for now...

Luckenhaft: Hehehe... Saber's a no-show until I reach the Holy Grail War... which is two or three Arcs away.

Chapter 13: Persona

Morgan le Fay hummed steadily as a giant orb of energy hovered before her. It'd been a while since she'd focused so much on modifying a human body. The last one to earn so much of her attention had been her masterpiece, Mordred.

Well, soon-to-be former masterpiece after this.

Now, Morgan was well aware that a lot of Shirou Emiya's abilities were born from his unique mindset, meaning it would be an utter failure if she did even the slightest changes to it.

Directly, at least.

Therefore, she went for layers.

With {Erosion}, she slipped in a freshly created artificial persona into his body, created with the most malleable personality in order to reduce rejection to a minimum while it adapted as smoothly as possible. It wouldn't do if the original persona noticed the intruder and cast it out.

Then came the body. It was child's play to improve the human flesh into something that could survive and produce '100,000 units of the World's energy' while being capable of utilizing up to '6,000 units'.

After that was done, then came the hardest part. The steady pumping of Fae knowledge and prana, the latter being needed for a stable 'jumpstart'.

As with all experiments, it would be hours at least before Morgan would get a result.

As with all Magi, she was willing to be patient.

After all, {Avalon le Fae} had never failed and would never fail.

"Welcome to Avalon, brave Adventurers!"

With his hood up and masking his face, Merlin greeted cheerfully towards the now awake humans, greatly enjoying their gobsmacked faces.

"I am the Mage of Flowers, Merlin Ambrosius."

Sometimes, Merlin believed that the simple and blatant truth worked well in concealing a lie. Plus, it was hilarious to see the bespectacled boy and the seaweed haired boy's jaws drop. Shirou's sister, Miyu he believed, only gave a raised eyebrow as her reaction.

'Hard to spook, huh?'

Merlin resisted the urge to snicker. She had nothing on Artoria, who despite perfecting that look for a lifetime, still gained a twitch in her eye and flinched whenever he sent a smile in her direction.

"I have a request for you three. Please save Shirou Emiya from Morgan le Fay."

As expected, the three suddenly paid more attention at the mere mention of the name.

"What do you mean?" Miyu asked as she stepped forward. "Is that Kuroyuri's true identity?"

"Indeed. Shirou was targeted for his unique abilities and currently undergoing a process which will end in his willing servitude under her rule."

"I see, now." Issei Ryuudou mused as he paced back and forth. "We should hurry then. Where is Shirou right now?"

"I can transport you three directly to her fortress. You must hurry however. Morgan desires to create a weapon which will aid her in finishing what she had started centuries ago. The destruction of Camelot."

"Huh?" Shinji Matou scoffed. "What nonsense is this? Even if we were to believe you, Camelot's been gone for centuries!"

"Such a thing does not matter to a woman dyed in the inky darkness of hatred." Merlin warned, his smile disappearing as a serious tone finally slipped into his words. "The only reason that Morgan isn't already finished with her endeavor is that Shirou possesses a similarly stubborn mindset and has delayed her significantly. I dare say he might've been worthy of the Sword had he been born in my era."

Raising a hand, an amulet with a glowing gem manifested and floated over into Miyu's hands. "When this glowing ruby turns completely black and illuminates no more, it signals the completion of Shirou's transformation."

Finally done, Merlin tapped his staff and summoned numerous petals to flurry around them, blocking their view of him as he prepared to transport them away. "Brave Adventurers, infiltrate the Everday Castle, save Shirou Emiya and defeat Morgan le Fay. I'm counting you."

And with that, they disappeared off to their destination.

Of course, Merlin wouldn't be the usual archmage and nightmare of a prankster he was without a little... alterations, of course.

"...fufufu."

"Wh-What am I wearing?!"

That was the general consensus on everyone's opinions about their sudden changes of attire.

Issei was dressed in Chinese-style clothing in the form of a long-sleeved shirt in green colors along with a white tree design on his back, black pants, iron forearm guards and slip on shoes.

Shinji was dressed in a simple shirt and dark pants with gloves, along with light, bluish silver armor over his chest, arms and below his knees. Hanging off his back was an ornate bow with Fae markings.

Miyu was in a purple dress with numerous butterfly designs which hugged her body snugly until it stopped and flared out at her thighs, a pointed hat, a black body belt which had her sword and a wand hanging off it, pantyhose which ended with long boots and the given amulet hanging off her neck.

"Well..." Issei took a few martial art stances, appraising how much quicker he was. "It at least ensures more freedom. I only hope my clothes return back to normal afterwards..."

Miyu briefly gave herself a lookover as well the others with {Structural Gasp}, being the only one skilled enough (with her brother being far, far, far superior) with that skill to notice how it was subtly enhancing all their physical and magical abilities. "We should get going."

Holding up the amulet and frowning at the few spots of black that already popped up in the ruby, Miyu pointed at the entrance. "Nii-san is up ahead. Come on!"

"Why do I have to save that guy?" Shinji's cold inquiry stopped Miyu and Issei dead. "He's a Magus, right? Let him just save himself. And you, Ryuudou. Why are you helping as well? You adapted way too quickly for someone who isn't a Magus as well."

Issei adjusted his glasses and resisted the urge to scowl at Shinji's behavior. "Because Emiya-kun is my friend. Besides, I already knew about his identity as Argonaut, so this really doesn't mea-"

"HUH?!" Shinji gaped at this other bombshell before snarling and stomping about. "Argonaut?! Of course, being a Magus wasn't enough for that bastard! He's a fucking superhero, too! Ain't he just the perfect protagonist, huh? Well, fuck him! This Morgan can have him for all I care- Urgh?!"

Shinji's words were cut off, thanks to the iron soled boot of Miyu burying itself into his unprotected gut hard enough to briefly grant liftoff for a second. With a choking cough, Shinji fell back heavily to the ground and curled around himself.

'What the hell?! I've taken hits before! How'd this little shrimp hurt me so much worse than grown thugs?!' Shinji grunted in pain and winced as Miyu squatted before him and clutched his hair, holding him up to look him in the face with just one hand.

"Shinji-san. I understand that you're angry at my brother and maybe me as well for hiding this from you." Miyu tonelessly spoke for her grip on his hair grew tighter. "But Nii-san hasn't done anything that warrants you essentially wishing death onto him! When Sakura-nee found out, she was initially a bit scared but didn't wuss out or act bitchy like you!"

Growling from the effort, Miyu threw Shinji into a nearby tree hard enough to shake down several leaves. "If you can't put that stupidity of yours aside, then just stay there uselessly. When Issei-nii and I are done saving my brother and we leave this place, you better not darken my home's entrance or I'll kill you! I am not as kind as Nii-san is to acknowledged enemies."

With that, Miyu angrily stalked off, leaving behind Issei who nervously looked torn between the rightfully angered sister and the stubbornly betrayed friend before deciding to follow after Miyu.

As Shinji struggled to get up, something light fell from his pockets.

*thk*

Despite it's card-like shape, it was like a lump of darkened void inside the bright world of Avalon. Shinji picked it up and held it close, remembering when he had acquired it.

Just a few hours ago, Shinji walked down the road from his house when a patch of cursed darkness appeared where he stepped next.

"Yorokobe, Shinji Matou. I have chosen you."

Shinji's head snapped about, fiercely looking for the owner of the voice that seemed to come from both around him and from within his own soul.

"Do you desire power?"

The darkness floated off the ground to right before Shinji.

"Power to overturn your fate as Zouken Makiri's tool?"

The darkness compressed into a card-like form.

"I can give it to you. All I ask in return is for you to do one little favor for me."

Shinji would've scowled at the card if he could. Of course, he'd taken it! Being raised by his grandfather had heavily skewed his common sense which would've heavily rebelled against the idea of accepting suspicious offers like that!

It didn't help that he had felt a bit stronger after accepting the card, easily noticing when a little jump sent him high enough to easily leap across a tree in the nearby park.

And this was just an initial gift. Think of how much he'd get if Shinji fulfilled whatever favor the card's owner wanted.

Shinji Matou wanted to become a Wizard.

And he would, especially after getting this chance.

'If Emiya's good for one thing, it's at least being helpful in... well, helping.' Shinji huffed as he got to his feet and followed Miyu and Issei after pocketing the card. 'It's the least he could do after using me like Grandfather always has.'

Morgan sighed as she was now almost done with every modification. All that was left was a dangerous part after the earlier bit.

The {Anima Bind}.

This would allow her to manipulate Shirou's very subconscious, modifying his ideas, wishes, desires and emotions however she wished.

Still, she would have to be sure to not get overwhelmed. After all, there was no such thing as a Reality Marble owner with a weak will.

And for all she would have loved to boast as the current owner of a World(Avalon), Morgan le Fay did not possess the Self to overwrite the World(Gaia) and create her own.

Gently grasping his head, Morgan leaned forward to press her own forehead against his as she began.

"Into oblivion (Forget). Into oblivion (Forget). Into oblivion (Forget). Into oblivion (Forget). Into oblivion (Forget)."

'Ah...?'

"Fall, fall, fall... to the abyss (Forget and be forgotten)"

'Something important...'

"You life cannot exist (Mourn for thy perpetual wink and bray out thy birth)"

'...is sinking...'

"You know you are not (The cycles of forgetting are at an end)"

'... I can't...'

"Lose, lose, lose your all and gain one... (Thou art from hither on...)"

'...Who...'

"...self. (Oberon)."

'...jbkbglNzjnlzgnzlfnlznlJHjbjkkb24er56tkbKBUHDFKNjv6nlnjzbjkzb33mnbz4473nvnjjjw463622znvjkdzzzljn7l77d8nl1nvjzlnvdnzzk0d?!'

Morgan recoiled as the backlash of Shirou's rejection smashed back across the {Anima Bond}. Now on high alert, she could almost see the defenses stacking up against her at high speed.

'Get out! Kuroyuri or Morgan or whatever your name really is, you can't have me!'

Miyu, Issei and Shinji assumed various poses of defeat. There were no complaints, no whining, just various moans of pain and despair.

That signified just how badly they'd been thrashed.

"We got our butts kicked by that guy!" Shinji growled with part of his face still buried in the comfortably cool soil. "That defeat could go down in history!"

"The problem does not lie with our opponent but rather us." Issei groaned as he assumed a sitting position. "We could've coordinated better."

"To put in plainly," Miyu winced as her bruises started to heal and fade away. "our teamwork was horrible."

"Of course, it was horrible!" Shinji snapped at Issei. "I can excuse Miyu, but you're the only CQC type here! Couldn't you have done better in covering me?!"

"You should've tried dodging, you fool!" Issei retorted, proving that even someone as patient and tolerant as him had his limits. "Miyu may have fought like she was completely alone, but at least she didn't hit me with any of her attacks!"

"It! Was! An! Accident!"

"And the five times after?!"

As Issei and Shinji kept arguing, Miyu crossed her arms in thought. The trio had earlier just fought what seemed like a werewolf. Except for three glaring differences.

First, the werewolf dual wielded clubs as long as it was tall.

Second, the werewolf was larger than a elephant.

Third, it kept using a special roar that defeaned their ears and threatened to rip her clothes right off.

"What the fuck...?" Shirou and Sakura weren't around to curb the words Miyu had learnt from a drunk Taiga last year, so Miyu didn't feel the urge to watch her language given the ridiculous situation. "Just what are we dealing with here...?"

Was there some chance she was hallucinating this... Or was someone playing a joke on them?

Several miles away, Merlin chuckled from his spot, dearly wishing he had some snacks close by.

'So what now?' Miyu thought as Issei and Shinji actually grabbed each other by the collars now. "Hey, knock it off."

Neither boy listened.

"Knock it off!"

This time, they listened when a mana blast blew right between them.

"Listen, we have to properly team up for this." Miyu spoke up, not letting either of the boys interrupt her. "Here are the ground rules. Shinji-san, you have the farthest reach out of all of us so stay back as much as you wish. In exchange, we will do our best to not get in your way."

Shinji huffed and crossed his arms as he looked away. "I'm still the best archer here, period. I'll put some effort into not hitting either of you even by accident. I'm just not used to this kind of bow."

Miyu nodded to show that she accepted his actually reasonable excuse before turning to Issei. "Issei-san, you will be our tank. From what I can tell, you have the greatest durability out of all of us. So we will be counting on you to save either of us in case we get rushed out."

Issei adjusted his glasses. "Naturally."

"Right then..." Miyu hummed as if considering something before she thrusted her fist out. "Let's win this!"

Shinji and Issei looked at her in surprise before smiling as they bumped their own fists against hers.

Morgan gave the mental equivalent of a wince as Shirou's Reality Marble responded to his desires and sucked in everything. Every thought, every quirk, every single speck that contributed to Shirou Emiya's soul... was completely absorbed into {Unl!m!t3d Bl&d3 W0rk$}, causing the two-way connection of {Anima Bond} to be cut off.

"...a failure." Morgan drew back, grimacing as she observed this new scenario. "I did not expect a partially formed Reality Marble to be capable of something like this. They're often used as a method of physical offense rather than mental defense..."

'W... What do I do now...?' Shirou felt like he was floating in a void, completely bare of everything but himself. 'This is a really bad situation... No... I can't let myself be defeated like this...! Barring myself, there's still Miyu, Issei and Shinji who got caught up in Morgan's attack... I need to... What can I do from here...? Wait, there's this connection linking us... In that case...!'

Morgan grew alert as the Reality Marble unfurled just the tiniest bit. In her haste, Morgan swiftly pushed forward, wanting to take advantage-

'...I can attack!'

The Lycan Warchief roared as he slammed down his club, creating a shockwave that nearly blew Miyu and Issei off their feet as they approached.

Taking advantage of the immediate lull in it's guard, Miyu surged ahead and landed a series of devastating cuts on it's lowered arm. Taking advantage of it's pain, Shinji pulled back his bow, briefly marveling at the arrow of compressed water that appeared automatically before letting fly.

*SPOOSH!*

The water arrow collided perfectly against the Lycan Warchief's face, causing it to howl and recoil as it's soaked snout showed signs of severe bleeding and bruises.

Still, it showed no signs of defeat besides taking a single step back. With a gnarly grin filled with it's bare fangs, the Lycan Warchief swung it's left arm and caused it's chain to swipe towards them while ripping up the ground.

Issei was just barely able to block and divert at the cost of his hands getting injured.

*hoom*

Gasping at the sudden relief of his hands being healed, Issei gave a short nod of gratitude towards Miyu as she lowered her wand, before rushing forward again.

"Miyu! Ryuudou!" Shinji called out as he started to charge up for a powerful shot. "Give me ten seconds!"

"Fine, then!" Issei acquiesced with Miyu following his lead. It was the longest ten seconds he'd ever known.

He dodged an overhead swipe, countered a thrust with a jab against the inner elbow of the offending arm and backflipped away from a doublehanded smash into the ground.

However, despite his constant success in dodging, Issei had no room for error. One misstep, one hit, Issei would unmistakingly die. The sole reason they hadn't died in the previous battle was because Miyu had literally hauled them away from the fight faster than the Lycan Warchief could've reacted.

Neither boy had been able to rebuke her in the slightest due to the real likelihood that they would've died if not for her.

"I'm ready!" Shinji called out, a large and trembling lance of compressed, spiraling water held steady on his bow. "Outta the way!"

Issei jumped aside immediately.

*THOOOOOOM!*

The water lance smashed away at the Lycan Warchief's face again, this time causing it to howl even louder as it's sensitive snout took greater damage than ever before.

"Like I thought!" Shinji smirked in satisfaction. "No matter what phantasmal species you are, a dog's nose will always be super sensitive!"

"It's nose, huh?" Miyu muttered before having to dodge a chain swipe. "I can't reach that high!"

"Ryuudou! Be a good Kaichou by becoming Miyu's stepping stone when she wants you to!" Shinji called out to Issei who growled at the wording but still nodded. "Go, Miyu! Ryuudou's gonna be your ramp!"

Miyu burst forward, speeding up just Issei turned about and cupped his hands. With a grunt as Miyu's foot stepped into his cupped hands, he tossed her high up into the air towards the Lycan Warchief's face.

Drawing her blade once more, Miyu latched onto the Lycan Warchief's face and started stabbing.

The screaming that followed felt like it burst her eardrums. Even so, Miyu held on and kept stabbing despite the behemoth's pain-filled rampage. Channeling her prana to summon flames, Miyu flat out ignited herself in order to cause as much damage as she could before she got killed.

She stabbed the eyes.

She burned the flesh.

She broke the bone beneath it all.

In the end, it was two final hits that finished off the monster. However, Miyu wasn't the one to deliver them.

With a roar, Issei launched himself forward and broke the creature's knee with a devastating blows. As it tilted downwards in pain, the Lycan Warchief's blinded eyes were unable to notice Shinji's approach as he used the bent over Issei's back as a ramp to bring up another charged water arrow up to his face.

"Sayonara." Shinji muttered as he released it pointblank, blowing the Lycan Warchief's head to watery bits.

"We won!" Issei cheered as he and Shinji high fived, before the latter actually gave a deep smooch to his bow, much to the others' disgust.

"Don't celebrate yet." Miyu spoke as she looked down at the bracelet. The ruby in it was now three quarters blackened. "Nii-san's still waiting for us!"

Morgan recoiled as the connection between her and Shirou was suddenly overloaded.

Shirou Emiya had never possessed any experience in battles of the mind. What he was experienced in however was one single battle of souls against his Altered older self.

While separate, the mind and the soul were related close enough that Shirou decided to utilize the same strategy he had used before.

Unrelenting Assault.

Morgan clutched herself in spiritual pain as Shirou's will flew at her in the form of a literal rain of blades.

Collecting herself, blackish blue prana burst to life around Morgan and surged against Shirou's onslaught. "Why do you struggle against me, Shirou? I may have lied about my identity, but I still possess no malevolent intentions against you or your family."

That was the honest truth. Morgan wanting Shirou's abilities under control didn't mean that she had wished either him or anybody harm.

Except whomever had put those... worms in Sakura Matou. Not only were they clearly disgusting in both function and appearance, they were clearly modified with the intent of deliberately causing bodily malfunctions.

Even she hadn't been that cruel to Mordred. Unlike her foolish sibling, Morgan would have gladly declared Mordred her Heir after conquering Camelot, had always made sure that her child's body was always in medically acceptable condition and put her under no compulsions... that they weren't already going to do anyways!

She wouldn't even had resorted to {Anima Bond} if Shirou hadn't been in possession of a Reality Marble, no matter how unpolished.

'Really?'

'Ah.'

Right. Morgan was still spiritually connected to Shirou.

'Morgan, I wouldn't have minded becoming your ally had you not hurt Shinji.'

'...what? Do you mean the brat that was whining at you for not revealing a secret that wasn't his right to know?'

'Okay, when you say it like that, it's hard to disagree. But Shinji is still my friend. I won't ever allow harm to befall my family and friends.'

'Well, that is unfortunate, for I will-'

'Create a weapon superior to {Excalibur}? I can help with that. Thanks to you taking me to my birth family's home, I can actually-'

'Be silent! I-'

'Just wanted to prove yourself superior to whoever this Artoria person is. I can't gleam much from you but according to your beliefs, you're angered by the fact that you were passed over no good reason.'

'...shut up.'

'So you plotted against her but failed. Then you plotted others against her and failed yet again. Mordred was your latest and closest attempt which ended with mixed results. Your child, who you planned on fully rewarding for their efforts, had died. However, Artoria also died, briefly granting you some peace until the guilt came. Now, you just want to surpass her one last time with my abilities in weapon smithing.'

'Shut up!'

'It doesn't even matter to you what your ideal weapon would be used for, as long as it got completed and turned out superior to {Excalibur}.'

'SHUT U-!'

'Thank you.'

'?!'

'Thank you, Morgan. You didn't have to take me to my family's home, but you did. While it may be because of you're someone as capable as you wasn't treated your just reward, you're the kind of person who doesn't like to leave those who helped you unrewarded. I really like that part of you.'

*NGUUU~!*

Morgan did not like how her heart clenched at that. She did not like how good it felt to be honestly appreciated.

She didn't!

She just needed to reorganize her thoughts and help Shirou out!

...

...

...

'Wait, that doesn't sound right.' Morgan blinked before shrieking in shock. The {Anima Bond} which had connected her and Shirou was now just allowing Shirou's emotions to flow unimpeded into her.

The bond was a two-way connection, which meant that with Shirou pushing everything he had on the offensive and Morgan being blindsided by the sheer... niceness, the latter was unable to resist her control being overwhelmed and reversed onto her.

Morgan le Fay had wished for Shirou's servitude. However, while Shirou wasn't a person who easily bowed his head, he also wasn't a person who demanded the servitude of others.

Therefore, as Morgan's spell was rebounded onto her, the forgotten persona that had been created by Morgan, slipped into Shirou and forgotten until now only had one thing to do regarding the witch.

After battling through three more monsters, Miyu and the others pushed through the final doors and fell to their knees in exhaustion.

"Miyu?"

Miyu, Issei and Shinji choked before looking up to see Shirou, smiling down at them from a throne he sat on. "Hey, guys! You made it!"

"Where's Kuroyuri-san?" Issei asked as they approached. "Did you defeat her already?"

"In a manner of speaking." Shirou shrugged as he looked over them. "Hey, Shinji. I think I owe you a talk."

"Yeah, no shit." Shinji retorted, only for Miyu to grab both his and Issei's arms and stop them from moving further.

"Who are you?" Miyu coldly questioned.

Shirou tilted his head in curiosity. "What do you mean, Miyu? It's me-"

"My brother frets over me so much that Fuji-nee would often tease him about being a siscon." Miyu cut him off. "Yet, here I am with bruises and injuries all over and you haven't launched yourself over at me."

Issei and Shinji frowned at that, noticing the truth in Miyu's words as Shirou smiled even further, his serene expression not quite fitting on his face.

"I am still Shirou." 'Shirou' said as he got up from his throne. "However, thanks to Morgan's modifications, I am now something... more. If it still unsettles you to address me as Shirou, feel free to call me..."

A bright flash of golden light shone from him, blinding the trio before him until it faded away as suddenly as it arrived.

Shirou was now remarkably different than before, his entire body being coated in yellow light as four fairy-like wings of light burst from his back.

"...King of the Fairies, Oberon."

The trio were stunned into silence at his transformation until a low growl erupted from Shinji's throat.

"Are you kidding me?!" Shinji snarled at Oberon. "While we were risking our lives to come save you, you not only saved yourself, but went gave yourself a nice little upgrade?!"

"Matou-kun!" Issei stepped forward. "Miyu just said that that couldn't be Emiya-"

"There's no fucking way that isn't Emiya!" Shinji snapped back, causing the bespectacled monk to step back from the sheer venom in his tone. "Just how long where you looking down on me, huh?! Someone like you has always had everything! A loving family, great relationships with almost everyone at school, most likely powerful magecraft from a confirmed ancient family line, adoration from fans as a freaking vigilante! And to think it's only your mindset that keeps you from being a superior Magus to Tohsaka! Need I go on?!"

Shinji panted heavily, unaware of the dark aura leaking off his body. Now in a trance-like state thanks to his rage, Shinji reached into his armor and drew out the darkened card, causing the darkness to leave the card and waft all over his body instead and revealed the card's true appearance of a horned beast snarling in rage.

"I've had enough of you looking down on me."

"Hey, what do you-" Miyu stopped when Oberon raised a hand at them.

"If you feel like I'm looking down on you..." Oberon gave a smug smile. "What are you going to do about it?"

"This!" Shinji snarled as he slapped the card against the ground, with words he had memorized years ago easily coming to the forefront of his rage filled mind. If he was in the proper state of mind, he would've questioned what was powering the blood red magic circle that appeared beneath him.

"Fill, Fill, Fill, Fill, Fill!"

Shinji intoned as the circle began pulsating with each word, Miyu instantly shielding both herself and Issei as a massive amount of energy began filling the throne room, while Oberon looked on unaffected.

Shinji didn't seem bothered by this as he kept glaring and continued chanting.

"Repeat five time, but destroy each when filled!"

The entire room began to shake from the swelling magical energy as the Mana of Avalon reacted to it.

"Let silver and steel be the essence!"

Shinji continued, unimpeded by the forces now acting on the room they were occupying.

Miyu and Issei just kept watching as the ground beneath Shinji begin to crack and vibrate. Shinji himself was beginning to be obscured by the red glow of the magic circle.

"Let the Archduke of contracts be the foundation!"

Shinji chanted as the light from the magic circle completely engulfed the teen in its red glow.

Miyu and Issei heard the surrounding walls give a low groan before the sound of cracking stone was followed by the nearby doors rattling in their frame.

"Let Blue be the color I pay tribute to!"

Shinji cried as his voice became clearly pained.

"Let a wall be risen against the wind that shall fall!"

Shinji shouted before Miyu and Issei were blasted by the winds now rushing around the room, the door and walls shaking much more violently than before. Before either Miyu or Issei could smack their heads against the stone wall, Oberon snapped his fingers, causing two magic circles to form protective barriers around them.

"L-Let the four cardinal gates close!"

Shinji coughed out as the doors finally shattered, sending pieces of wood flying around the room. While the fragments bounced harmlessly off Miyu and Issei's forcefields, they were vaporized the instant they came within ten centimeters of Oberon's skin.

"Let the three-forked road from the Crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate! Let it be declared now!"

Shinji yelled as his voice finally reached its crescendo and actually deepened as it gained an ethereal effect.

"I Call upon you, the Heroic Spirit of Madness, my flesh is your catalyst and my soul is your power!"

Shinji coughed out, struggling to maintain his consciousness from the pain now burning throughout his body. Still, his Wrath burned strong.

"Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth!"

Shinji chanted as the magic circle rose up to his midsection.

"An oath shall be sworn here!"

Shinji shouted in a reverberating tone, as if someone else with a deeper, gravely voice spoke alongside him, before his observers were blinded by sudden flashes as the pulsating circle grew brighter, forcing them to shield their eyes.

"Together we shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven!"

Shinji roared as the energy that had been swirling around the room began rushing back into the circle, causing it to reach up to his neck.

"Together we shall have dominion over all vices of all of Hell!"

Shinji roared, the bright crimson light now shooting through the broken windows and illuminating the entire area and sending a shockwave of energy rippling across the room.

"INSTALL: BERSERKER!"

Merlin chomped down on some berries as he observed the entertainment. "Whether this ends good or bad, it's going to be messy."

The K ̶i̶ ̶n̶ ̶g̶ Magus was perfect.

Why did the K ̶i̶ ̶n̶ ̶g̶ Magus have to exist in such a manner?

So magnificent, so powerful, so chivalrous, so self-sacrificing, so understanding.

He could not accept that.

He would not accept that.

Therefore, all that was left was resentment.

Even if he were to dye himself in the darkness of evil itself, punishment must be dealt, either to the K ̶i̶ ̶n̶ ̶g̶ Magus or the K ̶n̶ ̶i̶ ̶g̶ ̶h̶ ̶t̶ Failure.

Omake: Ritsuka and Argonaut's Grail War Act 1, Scene 1

"Fill up, fill up~! Fill up, fill up~! Repeat four times... Wait, five times? Err, but when it's full, then, destroy it...? Right-O~!"

Ritsuka Fujimaru sobbed silently as the killer finished creating a weird circle filled with symbols from his parents' blood, unable to do anything else due to his bound limbs and mouth.

"Do you think demons exist, kiddo?"

Every man, woman, and child could easily attest to this but never with the same answer. Ritsuka himself may have spoken of a great, red skinned humanoid with horns and the power of hellfire at his call. However, at this moment, if Ritsuka was asked what a demon looked like, he would instantly point out the man before him.

"All the papers and magazines call me a demon. But wouldn't that be kinda rude if demons really did exist? You've gotta be clear about these things."

The sad thing is this man probably wasn't even the only of his kind.

Just the nearest.

For humans have always been capable of great feats of wickedness, while not needing even the tiniest bit of supernatural ability. From how gruesomely the child's parents had been killed, he clearly proved how simple it was to perform such acts.

"Sup! I'm Ryuunosuke Uryuu and I'm a demon! I dunno if that's how I should be introducing myself."

It was scary. Ritsuka had done absolutely nothing to deserve this. Yet, it still happened.

"So like, I found this. It's some old book I found in the storehouse. It looks like my ancestors were researching how to summon demons. So like, I gotta find out if demons really do exist! But y'know… if a demon really did come out, it'd be pretty dumb to just chat with it and have nothing to offer him. So, kiddo… If a demon really shows up… Mind if we let it kill you?"

The bound child's eyes widened and he screamed his loudest through the gag as he squirmed on the hardwood floor of his family's living room.

Ryuunosuke Uryuu, the monster that wore human skin, laughed not for the boy's fear or his fruitless struggling but for the very idea of a new death for him to witness. In desperation, Ritsuka closed his eyes and tried to look away, fervently wishing for somebody, anybody to save him.

A desperate wish was made, and across the Throne, there was a soul who needed nothing more to answer the call.

"I wonder what it's like, being killed by a demon? Not many people get to experience that—Whoa." The serial killer's eyes wandered down as the summoning circle behind him flared with a light akin to the birthing of a star before it was gone as quickly as it had come and there, standing in the center of the circle was a figure, which coincidentally hid Ritsuka's wince of pain as he felt something burn the back of his hand.

The figure was a young man with hair whiter than snow despite his tanned skin, dressed in an emerald hoodie longcoat, dark goggles, black pants with several minor armor plating on then and steel plated boots. Underneath them all was a tight, black bodysuit.

"I ask of you... who is it that has summoned me as my... Master...?" The figure trailed off as he noticed his surroundings, which featured too much blood everywhere, a young man staring at him in surprise and a tied up kid sobbing in fear at the sight of him. "Allow me to rephrase."

He waved an arm to indicate... everything. "Who did this?"

"Well, yeah I did…" The red-haired serial killer scratched the back of his head, mostly confused by this turn of events. "I'm Ryuunosuke Uryuu and I like killing people pretty much. Especially kids and young women. Anyway, wanna eat the kid here?"

It happened too fast for Ritsuka to comprehend. One moment, he'd barely just seen the inquirer's arm blur for a bit. The next moment, Ryuunosuke's upper body became an explosion of torn flesh, shattered bones and pulpy blood splayed out over everything behind him.

"This is terrible." The inquirer sighed before approaching Ritsuka and gently untying him and wiping his tears. "I'm so sorry that this happened to you, my Master."

Ritsuka sniffled as he rubbed his sore wrists. "M-Master?"

"An unfortunate scenario." The inquirer spoke before pulling on Ritsuka's hand to show the markings, causing to finally noticed the tattoo which resembled a sword with fairy wings. "You have been chosen as a Master who will participate in the Fourth Holy Grail War for the opportunity to win the Holy Grail."

"Holy Grail?" The child's brows furrowed as the inquirer carefully gathered up his parents' bodies while unrepentantly kicking Ryuunosuke's out of the way. "That bible thing?"

"I'll explain it to you fully in a bit. However, there is something that must be acknowledged first." The inquirer spoke before falling to a knee before Ritsuka. "My True Name is Emiya Shirou. I have answered your summons and hereby swear as Caster that all of my Magecraft shall be used for your protection and victory."
