Now without further ado; I do not own 'My Hero Academia' or 'Resident Evil' they belong to their respective creators and the studios that work to bring these amazing world's to life.

Chapter 2

Spencer Estate Facility, Arklay Mountains, July 1998:

Rebecca Chambers was not having a good night. Well that was a major understatement, looking back the young S.T.A.R.S member of bravo team could honestly say that the last few hours had been nothing short of hell. The young officer's debacle started when S.T.A.R.S Team Bravo was assigned by the leader of Team Alpha, Albert Wesker, and the chief of the Raccoon City Police Department, Brian Irons, to conduct an investigation into the serial cannibalistic murders occurring in the nearby Arklay Mountains. The S.T.A.R.S Bravo team leader Enrico Marini along with Their other team members; Forest Speyer; vehicle and weapons specialist, Kenneth J. Sullivan; Bravo Team's point man and main scout, Edward Dewey; responsible for rear security and primary pilot, Kevin Dooley; co-pilot for the team, and Richard Aiken; second in command of Bravo Team. Then there was her, Rebecca Chambers; the newest member of the Raccoon City S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team and also part of rear security while serving as the team's Medic.

Don't get her wrong, Rebecca was proud of being part of the elite special operations troop, but there were times where the young eighteen year old college graduate felt she would be better off in a lab. Rebecca honestly had next to no clue where her expertise in chemistry would come in handy on this mission unless the team needed to determine if an animal was rabid maybe.

Everything went wrong for their team almost immediately after they left the station. During their survey flight over the forests of the Arklay Mountains at around 2200, a sudden freak lightning strike hit their helicopter. It was only through the combined efforts of both their pilots, Dooley and Kenneth, that the team survived the helicopters mechanical failure. After checking to ensure that everyone was okay and seeing that their radio equipment had been fried by the lightning, Enrico Marini then had the group spread out to check the area.

While searching the area, the team found an overturned MP wagon. Searching the vehicle the team found the bodies of two MP officers along with the files for one Marine Second Lieutenant Billy Coen. Enrico reading through the file determined that the prisoner murdered the two officers to escape his impending execution. Their team leader now worried that there was now another dangerous person in the area had Kevin Dooley return to the helicopter to attempt to get in contact with the RPD for backup and evac, while the rest of the team would search to apprehend the escaped convict.

Things went even further down the drain from there, the team was set upon by a large pack of rabid dogs causing them to separate and scatter into the woods. As Rebecca ran into the underbrush she could hear the screams of Dooley suddenly cut off as he was brutalized by the mad animals. Now by herself and scared out of her mind, Rebecca ran for a time until she found… a train?

The train titled the Ecliptic Express sat dark and foreboding in the empty forest. Having no other choice hearing howls in the distance, Rebecca immediately moved to take shelter on the train. Deciding to search for anyone else and hoping to find her teammates, the young S.T.A.R.S member was horrified by what she found. At first she had run across the seemingly dead bodies of the passengers, moving to check the bodies for possible survivors was almost the end for her when the 'dead' passengers began to move. It was only her past as a member of the track team that saved the girl from being set upon by the living dead. Moving further into the train Rebecca found a journal of one of the passengers stating that the purpose of the train was to transport employees secretly to a hidden lab owned by the Umbrella Corporation. Reading further, the last entry were the hastily written explanation that the train had been attacked two hours earlier by… leeches?

Continuing her investigation, Rebecca ended up finding one of her teammates Edward Dewey, who had been badly injured by the dog things in the forest earlier. Seeing that her teammate wasn't doing well, the young medic attempted to help… only for Dewey to mutate in front of her becoming a zombie as well. Thinking she was a goner, Rebecca was saved by the last person she expected, the missing criminal Billy Coen quickly dispatched the newly turned Dewey. Coen after checking that Rebecca had not been injured by any of the walking dead, asked the medic if she was willing to work together to survive; on the condition that he would be free to leave after they survived.

Before she could respond the duo was caught off guard when the lights on the train suddenly turned on and the locomotive began to move to an unknown destination. Worried at what this could mean the two proceeded to the front car only to gape at what they found. Men dressed in military gear and sporting the logo of the Umbrella Corporation, were being swarmed by giant leeches and were quickly infected. Working together realizing that without someone to control the train they would die when it crashed into the final stop, Rebecca and Billy took down the leeches as well as the zombies. Unfortunately even when they had managed to reach and activate the brakes, the train was moving too fast and ended up derailing within an underground station.

Unable to go back due to the destruction of the facilities entrance, the duo proceeded to explore the new place they had found themselves. While exploring the facility Rebecca had found documents that described this place as an executive training center as well as a testing ground for Bio-Organic Weapons(B.O.Ws). Continued searching revealed that the director of the facility had gone insane at some point, as well as the growing rivalry between two employees. When Rebecca had read the names of the two mentioned employees her heart stopped at seeing the name of the Alpha team leader written. Deciding to write this off as a coincidence for now the duo continued their exploration of the facility having a few close calls along the way.

After one of these 'close calls' involving a giant centipede and nearly falling to her death, only to be rescued by Billy, Rebecca finally decided to ask about the charges against the former marine. Billy after a moment explained that he and his squad had been deployed to a supposed terrorist cell based in an African village and using said village as a training ground. When his squad had arrived at the location they had discovered there was no training ground or terrorists only innocents. Billy's commanding officer unwilling to go back emptyhanded, ordered the villagers' executions and used the by then knocked out Coen as a scapegoat. To say that the medic was disgusted and saddened at what had happened to her erstwhile target and the innocents of that unknown village would be a gross understatement.

Taking a few minutes to collect themselves, the two continued further into the dark recesses of the hidden facility. Fighting through multiple areas filled with infected and even various B.O.Ws, Rebecca and Billy continued to collect various reports of the gross experimentation both human and animal that had been conducted here. It was among these files that Rebecca had found records of the cause of these monsters; the T-Virus, a man made virus that could and would cause extreme mutations in whatever it came into contact with. The data alone amazed and terrified Rebecca now realizing that this virus was likely the reason for the attacks that had been occurring in the past few weeks. Eventually the duo made their way to a gondola only to be separated when an attacking B.O.W knocked the two from the platform to an underground river below.

Making her way to shore, Rebecca was surprised to find none other than her captain; Enrico Marini. Happy at seeing her team leader, Rebecca explained what had happened after she had been separated from the team and ending with losing Coen. Of course, the medic left out what Billy had told her knowing that it would likely not matter to her captain. Enrico thought for a time before deciding to allow Rebecca to look for the lost fugitive since Coen trusted her. Telling the youngest member of his team to stay safe and be careful, Team Bravo's captain left to return to his team's meeting point. Happy at the care shown by her leader, Rebecca moved to begin her search for Billy.

When she was approaching an elevator crisis struck again when a steel shutter behind her closed suddenly trapping her. Things only got worse when a monster suddenly attempted to attack her from a pile of rubble. The monster was humanoid, standing at a height of eight feet and two inches covered in corpse grey skin full of holes of decay. On its chest was a pulsing heart like tumor that took up most of its torso, but it was its arms that were its most dangerous point. One arm had a massive blade like claw growing from its forearm while the other hand was tipped with wicked claws. With a combination of luck and the various weapons she had discovered in the facility, Rebecca was eventually able to defeat the beast and move forward finding Billy in the water below.

Continuing their exploration the duo activated a dam within the facility emptying a large lake area. the two rejoiced knowing that this would likely be their path out of this nightmare… only for said nightmare to turn macabre. For under the waters of the lake… lie the bones of what looked to be hundreds of people. Realization hit the two in that moment, this lake was where the director had disposed of his test subjects. Sickened by this and determined to get out of this place alive, the two continued their way fighting insurmountable odds to reach the exit. When they had entered the final chamber before the exit they found a man standing there waiting for them.

The man identified himself as James Marcus, Director and co-founder of the Umbrella Corporation, looking as if he was only in his early twenties rather than the late sixties he should have been. Marcus then proceeded to explain to the two about his betrayal by his old friend Oswell E. Spencer, helped by his two most trusted students Albert and William, leading to his death. Only he didn't stay dead, brought back by one of his experiments (the leeches), Marcus told the now flabbergasted and terrified duo of his plans for revenge, starting with the release of the T-Virus to destroy everything his betrayers had built. Then as if to punctuate his sickening plan the 'man' proceeded to begin to vomit up leeches before mutating into a giant leech monster which proceeded to attack Rebecca and Billy. Fighting back the two were dismayed to find that their weapons had no effect on the monster in front of them. It was only by chance that the two noticed that after a part of the ceiling had collapsed, exposing part of the beast to the early morning sunlight, that the sunlight damaged the man turned monster. In a desperate move, Billy moved to distract the beast while Rebecca went to a nearby control panel and using it opened a large roof hatch, catching the leech off guard and killing it when it was weakened by the light.

Before the two could celebrate, a message telling them that an auto-destruct had been activated sounded. Rushing to escape, the two only just made it as the base exploded, destroying everything within. Afterwords Rebecca and Billy found themselves atop a hill overlooking the ruins of the still burning facility. Making a decision, Rebecca reached out and grabbed Billy's dog tag and ripped it off. She proceeded to tell the man that she would tell her superiors that he had died in the facility and that he could use this opportunity to escape and start a new life.

Surprised at the medic's kindness, Billy saluted to the woman that had given him a chance when no one else would. Returning the salute, Rebecca watched as Billy ran off into the woods. Silently wishing him luck, Rebecca turned around and saw a large mansion estate in the distance. Remembering how Captain Enrico had stated that their rendezvous was at the Spencer Mansion, the rookie proceeded to make her way to the mansion to hopefully reconnect with the rest of the team.

-Line Break-

Shaking her head to clear it of the events of the past six or so hours, Rebecca concentrated on her surroundings. The youngest S.T.A.R.S member's trek to the mansion had been… stressful to say the least. Between dodging roaming packs of zombie dogs and other infected, human or otherwise, Rebecca was beginning to worry. She had gone through almost all of the ammo and large caliber weapons both she and Billy had found in the testing facility earlier, now only having her sidearm and a few spare magazines. Half convinced that she was lost, having been walking for the past two hours, Rebecca was one bad fight away from losing her remaining composure.

"I swear if that stupid mansion is not through this next bramble I am going to lose it!" Taking a deep breath, Rebecca settled her nerves as best she could and pushed forward. Much to her relief The mansion was indeed in front of her now… at least the rear of it. Confused on how she had gotten so turned around to find herself at the rear of the mansion seeing as when she had separated from Billy, Rebecca was overlooking the front of the mansion. Rubbing her eyes to fight off her exhaustion, Rebecca went to find a way into the mansion… until the familiar sounds of zombie dogs howling in the not so distance was heard. Cursing to herself at her obvious bad fortune and realizing that she was too far from the mansion to make it inside, Rebecca looked around for somewhere safe to hide.

Only finding a large shed to her left, the medic wasted no time running for the door, hoping to whatever god was listening that the door at least wasn't locked. Luckly it seemed someone was indeed paying attention as soon as she made it to the door to the shed and went to turn the knob the door opened with no problem. Rushing inside to avoid being seen by anything wanting to take a bite out of her, Rebecca closed the door behind her. Breathing deeply to catch her breath after the adrenaline filled run, Rebecca checked the area around her for a light switch. Finding a switch on the wall to the right of the door, the young officer hurried to flip it on, showering the room in soft yellow light. Deciding to be prepared in case something jumped out at her, remembering the monster from the elevator room with a shiver, Rebecca pulled out her sidearm and kept it raised at the ready.

The room appeared to be a large storage room; shelves filled with random items filled most of the space. Checking around the shelves revealed little of use, the young woman only finding a few medical herbs that she hurriedly packed away. Rebecca was on the verge of writing the area off as a loss and think of a way to make it to the mansion when something caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. There alongside one of the shelves against the wall was an RFID pad. Intrigued by the find, Rebecca walked forward before remembering the master key that her and Billy had found in Marcus's office. Pulling out the keycard, the young medic looked at the Umbrella logo on the key and praying that this wouldn't activate some kind of trap proceeded to press the key against the reader. For a moment nothing happened, and just before pulling the key away with a sigh of disappointment there was a beep from the reader, the light above it shines green.

There was a sudden cracking noise causing Rebecca to jump as she looked around for the trap she had likely sprung. Only to look down when a staircase was revealed leading underground. Rolling her eyes after settling her racing heart, Rebecca made a mental note to tell the others about the cliché hiding spots Umbrella was apparently liable to use. Walking into the depths with her guard raised, Rebecca followed the stairs further down for about ten minutes. Irritated and wary at how she had ended up in yet another underground facility in less than a day Rebecca walked into a metal lined hallway, lights coming on as she entered. Seeing no signs of infected or any survivors, the young woman decided to search the area for useful information and supplies, especially ammo or replacement weapons.

The first few doors she came across were only empty and abandoned labs, Rebecca noticed that these facilities hadn't been used for at least a few years seeing the light layers of dust that fell over the countertops and leftover equipment. It was after three more rooms filled with various dust covered equipment that the youngest S.T.A.R.S member came across a door that had an identification plaque written above it.

"'Project Prometheus'… not an unusual name at all… well in for a penny in for a pound-" Deciding to check the room seeing it was the last in the hall. Looking around, Rebecca found another RFID pad next to the door. Grinning to herself for her apparent change in luck, the young officer swiped her cardkey and breathed a sigh of relief when the door unlocked with a quiet click. Opening the door prepared for any number of horrors to be revealed, Rebecca wasn't prepared for what she found.

The room was dark except for a large tube at the opposite end against the wall. To either side of the tube were a collection of medical equipment, and to the young woman's continuing surprise everything was in working order. Walking forward slowly to one of the control panels watching the opaque tube in caution, Rebecca found a file lying haphazardly to the side of the panel. Happily surprised at the first sign of information since she had found this hidden place, Rebecca wasted no time picking up the file and reading it…

"What the fuck is this!?" As Rebecca continued to read through the information in the file, the medic was in equal parts amazed and disgusted at what she found. According to the file the tube she was standing in front of was a sort of prison holding an unknown individual that had been captured by Umbrella as a test subject. According to the information the 'subject,' codenamed Prometheus by the head scientist at the time, was captured after literally crashing into the main roadway leading to the Spencer Estate. After capture, the subject was kept in a medically induced coma, the lead scientist, who turned out to be the same 'William' that Marcus had spoken of, found that Prometheus had a marvelous ability to adapt to anything introduced to his system. Over the next few months and many tests later after failing to find a way to control the subject for their own use, Prometheus was ordered to be placed under permanent stasis while samples would be periodically taken to bolster other B.O.W. projects.

Feeling sick to her stomach at the treatment of an unknown person that only had the misfortune of being caught by these madmen. Rebecca saw that there was one final note in the note dated almost four years ago. The note, written by the same William, stated that as a final test he would be introducing a combination of two of Umbrella's most powerful viruses to see how it would affect the subject. Anger now bubbling up past her disgust Rebecca tossed the file trying to get it as far from her as she could. Only for the file to hit the control panel and somehow activating the manual release. Realizing what just happened Rebecca could only stare at this in open shock as a message played stating subject release was beginning.

"UGGHH! WHEN WILL THIS SHIT END!!" The combination of exhaustion and irritation lead the medic to finally lose what little cool she still had, up till the fluid in the tube began to drain. Wiping her tired eyes and taking a few deep breaths, Rebecca turned to face the tube as the 'subject' was revealed within. First to be seen was… green hair? No that couldn't be right… but there it was dark green that became brighter at the tips. Next came the rest of 'Prometheus's head and shoulders, seeing the boyish and handsome features of the young man that could be no older than maybe his early twenties brought a blush to the young woman's face. Not even the admittedly large scar that ran across one side of his face detracted from his looks. Rebecca's blush turned near atomic as the rest of the young man's body was exposed.

Prometheus's body was akin to a swimmer, if said swimmer had trained in martial arts from the time he could walk. The man's body was slim but filled with compact muscle, giving his body a definition Rebecca didn't even know was possible for normal people.

'Oh god, look at those abs… you could grind diamond on those things…'

It wasn't until the medic felt something falling from her nose she realized that she had a damn nosebleed! 'Damnit what is this, some anime bullshit! I am not a pervert.' Wiping her face to clear the blood from her nose and returned her attention to the tube to see that it was almost empty now. Looking to the screens showing his vitals showed that the man's heartrate was beginning to pick up. Shifting her eyes back to the tube once again she could see the corded muscle on Prometheus's scarred arms begin to shift and flex. Next much to her shock green electricity tinged with black began to arc around his body. In the next moment Prometheus ripped his arms from the metal restraints on his arms before reaching up and tearing the air tube from his face. Next to go were the arm restraints that gave the same amount of resistance as the arm restraints.

Fear grew in Rebecca's heart, and she began to panic at the sheer power that was being shown. Unknown to her, the medic had unconsciously begun to back up towards the doorway, not that it did any good. Before Rebecca could reach the door, Prometheus lashed out with a fist destroying the tube and unleashing a blast of pure force that knocked her into the wall none to gently. Blinking stars from her eyes Rebecca looked up only to be caught in the acidic green gaze of the former prisoner. Frozen in fear, realizing that one wrong move and she would likely be splattered against the wall, the young medic could only shiver thinking she was about to die… only to have a calming hand placed on her shoulder.

Confused at this, Rebecca looked up again to see the previously acidic green and angry look replaced by calm and gentle emerald, green. Rebecca couldn't help but feel a sense of calm and safety fill her at the way the former prisoner looked at her. Unbidden to her, Rebecca spoke out in a whisper.

"W-Who are you?" The man looked at her for a moment, and then proceeded to give Rebecca what had to be the brightest smile she had ever seen before he responded in slightly accented English.

"Hello there, my name is Midoriya Izuku, also known under the alias of the pro hero Deku. Thank you for freeing me from the tube. Now could you please explain the situation to me miss…"

"M-my name is Rebecca Chambers, member of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service or S.T.A.R.S Bravo team. We… I mean my team and I were sent out to investigate a string of vicious murders and attacks that had been taking place in the mountains surrounding Raccoon City-" Before she knew it, Rebecca was explaining what had happened since her team had crashed in the forest the previous night. The more she explained the softer the gaze Midoriya gave her, as if he could understand being shoved into a situation straight out of a horror movie. By the end of her tale, leaving out how she had let Billy escape by saying that he had sacrificed himself to save her from the self-destruction of the underground executive facility. Izuku was now sitting in front of the now crying Rebecca eyes wide and trying to process what he had heard.

About five minutes later Rebecca was finally able to collect herself to stop her tears. A bone deep weariness filled the young woman after finally venting to someone. The medic nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt Izuku's palm land gently on her shoulder again. Color filled her cheeks as Rebecca realized that she had just broken down crying in front of a random man she had freed from imprisonment only a few minutes ago. Fighting down her blush, Rebecca looked back up at Midoriya and collecting herself, moved to stand up flinching slightly from the bruises she had gotten from hitting the wall earlier. Holding up her hand at the attempt of Midoriya to help her, Rebecca was eventually able to make it back to her feet before facing the now standing man. Much to her embarrassment Rebecca could see that Izuku stood head and shoulders taller than her five foot three putting him at around just under six foot. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts again, Rebecca spoke up to catch the odd man's attention.

"Well that's the situation, now I am currently trying to get back in contact with the rest of my team. We were supposed to rendezvous in a nearby mansion, which I cant currently reach due to there being an unknown number of hostiles between here and there. I hate to ask this after what you must have gone through, but do you think you could help me reach my team?"

Rebecca was sure that this would likely be to much to ask the man in front of her. No matter how good someone was there was no way Midoriya was as well as he let on. 'I mean he's been held captive here for almost four years in a damn coma while those Umbrella bastards did who knows what with him-' Before she could berate herself further she heard a light chuckle from said man. Eyes locking with his own, Izuku waved off Rebecca before giving her another illuminating smile.

"It's okay Chambers-san, I might have only just woken up, but that does not mean I wasn't aware while I was drugged… wow that sounds even worse saying it out loud…" Rebecca had to stop herself from gaping at the nonchalance Midoriya was showing, "I realize that what I have gone through was horrible… but I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I didn't do my best to help you find the rest of your team and bring the monsters that started all of this to justice." Midoriya's eyes gained a sharp look at his last words as he proceeded to reach up behind his ear and pressed something. One moment the man was standing in red combat boots and green jumpsuit pants, then the next he was standing in what could only be… a superhero costume? A highly advanced and heavily armored superhero costume. Staring in awe at the now menacing figure in front of her, one thought ran through Rebecca's mind.

What has my life become?
