DEPARTMENT OF MAGICAL LAW ENFORCEMENT

OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE DMLE – The Office of the Director of the DMLE was established as a section to support the work of the Director, it also includes the role of the Deputy Director who ensures that they are able to succeed in the event of the director being incapacitated or removed.

The Office is staffed by personnel from across the department chosen by the Director. The Director is also known to select special liaison officers to various task forces, departments, and other entities they are called special assistants.

Personnel: Secretary to the Director + Special Assistants to the Director + DMLE Liaison Officers + Lead Officer: Director's Protection Team (3x DMLE Officers assigned as Protection Officers)

BRITISH AUROR SERVICE (FORMERLY AUROR OFFICE) – The service is led by the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner. Each Branch is led directly by a Chief of Service. The Auror Service was also responsible for aiding and assisting in the general activities and operations of the DMLE Patrol Operations Division as part of the Department Wide operations these include the DMLE Joint Emergency Response Taskforce and Duty Inspectors of the DMLE.

DIVISION: Office of the Commissioner/Office of the Deputy Commissioner/ Office of the Assistant Commissioner/ Investigations Branch/ Support Services Branch/ Foreign Operations Branch/ Protection & Security Branch

OFFICE FOR THE IMPROPER USE OF MAGIC (Formerly Improper Use of Magic Office) – The Office is led by the Undersecretary for the Improper Use of Magic Office with each section being led by a Division Chief or Team Leader. Agents of each division are responsible for the work of the office and its functions.

SENIOR OFFICIALS: Undersecretary/Chief of Monitoring/Chief of Correspondence/Board Members

DMLE WATCH DIVISION – (Formerly Ministry of Magic Watchers) DMLE Watch Division is a fourth-tier enforcement division after the Auror Office, Hit Specialists, and Patrol Operations Division it is led by a Division Chief who reports to the Director and Deputy Director.

- DMLE Watch Communications Division - includes the Emergency Floo Centre for Emergencies.

- British Warding Defence Network (NEW)

DMLE PATROL OPERATIONS DIVISION – (Formerly Magical Law Enforcement Patrol) – The DMLE Patrol Division is divided into two sections. The patrol operates local DMLE Station Houses in all 34 British magical districts, wards, and townships including the London Ward with Diagon Alley.

DMLE DETENTION SERVICES DIVISION – the DMLE Detention Services Division was created to help re-brand magical British prisons and prisoner services it was originally a working group to help decide what to do about the Dementors of Azkaban. It includes the following section:

SENIOR OFFICIALS: Chief + Deputy Chief + Chief Jailors + Lead Officers + Superintendent & Wardens of Azkaban Prison

SECTIONS –

- DMLE Immediate Processing Unit,

- DMLE Detention Service,

- DMLE Prisoner Transport Group, and the

DMLE PROSECUTION DIVISION – The DMLE Prosecution Division is led by the Chief Prosecutor of the DMLE who leads a team of DMLE Prosecutors who are responsible for representing the Department and sometimes Ministry in the prosecution of criminal cases within the Courts.

SENIOR OFFICIALS: Chief Prosecutor + Deputy Chief Prosecutor + Assistant Chief Prosecutors (4x)

BRITISH LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING ACADEMY – B.L.E.T.A was created to help increase the recruitment and manage training for future law enforcement officers of the DMLE. It handles all training requirements for all personnel working for and within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

It has the following sections:

- DMLE Basic Training Division,

- DMLE Advanced Training Division,

- the Hit-Specialist Training Division, and

- the Auror Training Division.

It has its own headquarters and compound in the newly established Phoenix Park Magical Township.

NOTES ON FORMER DIVISIONS

Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office – Moved to the newly created Department of Muggle Affairs & Relations as part of the Muggle Reform Bill 1998 which unified all muggle-related divisions under one department.
