Hannah stretched out under the comforter, wishing she wasn't alone in bed, there was a lot of things she really needed to talk to somebody about. And, if she were honest, she would enjoy having Susan, or Heidi, even Cho sharing her bed so they could celebrate just how good she was feeling! But the next couple of days are going to be too busy, so she was just going to have to be satisfied with Harry and Cho's Yule gift to her.

A smile played across her face, at least she didn't have to wonder if Harry really was the one for her, not after the conversation Harry had with his father's portrait. James was limited by the secrecy requirements as much as her father was, so he couldn't come right out and say that she and Harry were named in the contract, but he was as definite as he could be. It was just that small bit of uncertainty that kept the three of them, because there was no way Cho wasn't going to be there with them, from rushing up to Harry's bedroom and locking the door behind them!

They managed to control themselves though, long enough to talk about Harry supporting her father for the position of Minister. Harry spent a good bit of time questioning her, Susan, Sirius, and Amelia about her father's positions, and was smiling and nodding by the time they were finished. Hannah was actually pleased that Harry was interested enough to be sure he could honestly support her father for himself, and not just because he was doing everything but shagging his daughter.

Hannah was surprised when Harry asked Cho about getting the support of her family and the Patils, since both families are successful business owners, and ended up with Cho using the floo to contact her father and the twins. Unfortunately, Hannah had to head home for the evening but as she was leaving, they were talking about the status of the Potter-Longbottom Alliance, and finding out who was holding the proxy's for the different family seats in the Wizengamot, but those could wait until the next scheduled meeting.

When she got home, the atmosphere was so tense between her parents that she almost turned around and floo'd back to the Ossuary, but her father stopped her before she could get away. It was one of the most stilted meals she could remember, the conversation, what there was of it, was painfully polite, and nothing was said. It was a relief when her mother left the table, and she could relax and find out what was going on?

It was the doctor's appointment, and her father had been in the office for the last several minutes to hear the diagnosis. Doctor Bell confirmed what Hermione's mother had suggested, but Marilyn refused to listen, insisting that there was nothing the matter with her! It took a calming potion for her to be willing to listen, and that was a struggle all it's own. At the end of the appointment, Doctor Bell gave them several prescriptions for Marilyn to take, and Daddy nearly had to use his authority as Head of the Family to make her agree to follow the Doctor's orders.

At that point he looked directly at her and said, "By any chance, would you know why Alonzo Parkinson was publicly very friendly to me in the Ministry today? The two of us have never been at odds, but we aren't normally allies, so it was out of character, any thoughts?"

Hannah grinned, glad to be on safer ground, and said "Since the word has gotten out that you are in the running to be sitting in the Minister's chair very soon, he was probably sending a signal to his allies that he was supporting you for the move and I wouldn't be surprised if a few more of the neutrals do the same thing. And you'll be getting overtures from a couple of the merchant block, the Chang's and the Patils, and probably others, and that's before Harry announces his support. He's giving the Prophet a statement tonight, and since the Potters and the Blacks own a big block of the Prophet, I can't see the editors doing any 'creative editing, specially since, even if he avoids Azkaban, there's no way he will stay in office."

Her father surprised her by chuckling, "You've been busy, haven't you?" Smile dropping, he said, "I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but to be sure, you made it clear that his support doesn't grant him any favors, I'm not Fudge!"

Hannah shook her head, "The subject never came up, and since we were talking with Sirius and Susan's Auntie, I'm sure they will explain things to him. He was mainly concerned that your positions were things he could support, and he was satisfied with what we told him."

He relaxed, "I didn't think it would be an issue, based on what I know about him, and what you've told me, but it's still something that needs to understood."

Cho was cuddled up against him, a sated smile on her face as she slept, and Harry wished he could sleep just as easily as his Lady Potter. Sadly, sleep was eluding him tonight, because he knew how much was going to change in the morning, when the Daily Prophet gets delivered. At least Cho and the twin's fathers were aware what he was going to be saying, so they aren't caught flat footed if someone makes a comment. One perk of owning a substantial portion of the Prophet and making sure the Prophet board is aware of the fact, is that he gets to review his statements before it gets printed. He also had the ability to choose what reporter he spoke with, and after the way Rita Skeeter had acted this last year, not to mention the articles she wrote before he was even aware he was a wizard, it will be a cold day in hell before Rita gets another chance to talk to him.

Looking across the room he could see the copy of his statement sitting on his dresser, the light through the window making it noticeable. He was too far away to read the text, but he knew it by heart anyway. The top part of the page was taken up by one of the better pictures of he and Cho dancing at the Ball, before the headline caught the attention of just about everyone else.

Boy Who Lived Blasts Fudge, Boosts Abbott –

Emergency Wizengamot Meeting Saturday , December 31st, 1994 – Will Lord Potter take his seat? With the sudden loss of so many of Minister Fudge's advisors and supporters, as well as his Senior Undersecretary, can anything save Minister Fudge?

Harry shifted on the bed, turning away from the headlines and pulled Cho closer, drawing a quiet sigh from her as she snuggled closer. Even closing his eyes and laying back, the questions were still there, including who held the proxy for the Potter and the Peverell seats, and did he have any other seats he needed to be aware of? It was so frustrating that he was finally getting a bit of control in one area of his life, and then finds out how much he never even thought to ask about. Not that he had a lot of people who could have answered his questions, the Weasley's didn't seem to care about anything other than their own family, and he probably could have asked Neville, but his roommate was so shy he wouldn't say anything on his own, but Neville at least would have an idea what questions need to be asked. Harry was still thinking when sleep finally over came him.

Luna was looking at the family painting, a frown of confusion on her face, because something had changed while she was lost in the colors, and she was trying to understand what could have caused the loss of three family members, the ones who she thought were part of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team, and three different girls were the ones who were under the symbol of the Hallows. She relaxed her inner eye and let herself drift away, finding herself moving to Master Harry first, as always, and she smiled seeing that he and Cho were sleeping peacefully, his arms holding Cho protectively. Hannah was next, and Luna felt a twinge of sorry for the girl, who had brought so many wonderful changes to all their lives, and her worry about what has been happening with her mother. At least there was an end to the concern, she could see Hannah and her parents, with Harry at her side, in a family portrait, and Hannah and Harry were holding a baby in their arms. All of them had natural smiles on their faces, and Luna was looking forward to greeting the new member of the family.

There were no answers here, so she followed the paths and was looking down on Pansy's naked body, tied to her bed and gagged with a pair of her own knickers, which looked like fun to Luna, and she could see that the other girl, who had seemed familiar when Luna was sketching her in, she could see her clearly, and took a long moment to admire Daphne Greengrass's naked body. The statuesque blonde was leaning over Pansy on the bed, teasing the rings in the Black Family Concubine's nipples, the ones that matched the rings in Luna's nipples, and making Pansy jerk on the bed. Luna reached up to play with her own piercings, remembering the way that Master had her and Pansy stand against the wall of Lilith's and how the two sales girls watched as he tested the crop on her and Pansy's bare arses, making both of them strain the silencing charms with their orgasms, before he prepared the two of them and fitted them with plugs for their rears, and it was the first time that Luna had ever had anything but her own fingers up there, and couldn't wait to experience more!

As much as she wanted to stay and watch her Consort play with the family concubine, there were no answers here either, and let herself drift away. Luna paused briefly to watch Parvati and Padma entwined together, before being pulled off, finding herself in the Beauxbatons carriage on the Hogwarts grounds. Intrigued, Luna followed the paths and was soon standing inside the bedroom of Fleur Delacour, the Beauxbatons Champion. Luna licked her lips at the girl's nude body, although she smirked as she saw that Fleur was completely shaved, just like several other girls in the family. It was as she admired the Veela, that Luna realized what had changed. Before, the girl was possibly going to be part of the family, but something had changed in Fleur's life, connecting her to Master and the rest of them.

Narrowing her eyes, Luna saw that there were the same two girls with Fleur, but other than a strong feel of family between her and the other blonde girl, she wasn't getting anything clearer. Strangely, it was the dark haired, dark eyed girl that had the strongest connection to the Hallows, and Luna was very curious who the girl was. Feeling the pull of her body, Luna let go and opened her eyes a moment later to find herself standing by her bed. Stripping out of her clothes, she pulled on a warm nightgown and slipped into bed, wrapping herself in the blankets and let the lights dim as she drifted off into the land of dreams.

The Ministry for Magic

Wizengamot Chambers

Saturday, December 31st, 1994

Noon

Hannah gave a sigh of relief as the votes were totaled, and Chief Warlock Dumbledore brought down the gavel and called for the official vote tally. Other than a few votes for Amos Diggory, the majority voted for her father as Minister, which was just the climax of a very busy morning. The Chamber was already nearly full when she had arrived with her parents, a pleasant smile plastered on her face. She couldn't be completely certain, but as she watched her mother, she was actually a bit relaxed, far more than she had been since the Yule Break started. Sharing a look with her father, Hannah could tell that he noticed the change as well. From what she had heard, and comments that Hermione made, it was far too soon to see any sort of change from the medications, unless it's different for magicals? She didn't have a chance to think about the question as the Chamber doors were closed and Dumbledore, wearing his Chief Warlock regalia, opened the session.

Hannah found a seat in the Visitor's Section, since her father and mother were sitting the Abbott seat. As she was sitting down, her eyes were scanning the members, looking for the Potter seat. It didn't take long to find the seat, but she felt a twinge of disappointment when she didn't recognize the person who was sitting in the seat, other than he was an old man, not much younger than Dumbledore. Hannah know that it wasn't likely for Harry to be showing himself in public, she felt she knew him better than almost anyone besides Hermione, and maybe Cho, and the one thing she knew about Harry was that, unless it was something he personally accomplished, like catching the snitch to win the Quidditch Cup, he did not like the spotlight! It was understandable, but she had still been hoping to see him today.

Hannah was making herself as comfortable as possible when she got the strange feeling she was being watched. Casually dropping her wand into her hand, she looked toward where the feeling was coming from and saw Cho sitting there smiling at her! It looked like a barrier was surrounding the area she was sitting in, and, narrowing her eyes, Hannah could see somebody sitting right next to Cho, and from the messy black hair she knew where Harry was sitting. The barrier seemed to be a 'notice-me-not' field, since she was the only person that was paying any attention to them.

Smiling back at the two of them, Hannah turned back to watch the floor, where Minister Fudge was trying to get attention. She could almost feel sorry for the man, because it was obvious that he was just going through the motions of fighting to save his job, with the deaths of Lucius Malfoy and several other 'advisors' not to mention the Umbridge woman, there is too much dirt landing on him to do more than save him from a cell in Azkaban, and it might not even do that. Things moved quickly once the Chief Warlock recognized Fudge, and the Minister actually surprised Hannah by handing the Clerk his letter of resignation. A quick look at Amelia and Dumbledore and neither of them were taken by surprise, telling her that a deal had been arranged. Hannah knew she should probably be outraged, but with Fudge resigning, it keeps things mostly clean and bloodless, and that will be needed to make the changes needed. Even with the majority of the 'Traditionalists' or 'Blood Purists' gone, there are still enough families that still have living heads that they could block any changes they don't like.

As Fudge was leaving the Chamber, Cho's father, and Pansy's father were both on their feet requesting recognition. There was a murmur of surprise when both of them nominated Samuel Abbott, especially how Charles Chang was seconded by the Patil Twins father, and Cyrus Greengrass seconded Alonzo Parkinson's nomination. There was a lot of moving between seats as different blocs shifted and reformed based on what they thought was their best interest. After listening to her father on how things in the Wizengamot worked, it was entertaining to see it actually happening. During the different conversations, almost unnoticed, but Perkins, from the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office nominated Amos Diggory and was seconded by a wizard she didn't recognize. The debate, such as it was, centered on the direction each of the candidates would guide the government, and Diggory was firm in keeping things going the way they were, which got scattered support from the other members, and her father, who was in favor of opening making it easier for wizards and witches of the newer families to start their own businesses, and, though he didn't mention it, the increase in tax revenue was an unspoken benefit. Hannah knew that part of the reason her father wanted to open things up to other than 'established families' was to keep the Blood Supremacists from gathering as much power, to prevent the rise of another Dark Lord in twenty years.

When the Chief Warlock brought down the gavel and declared Samuel Abbott as the new Minister for Magic, the doors to the Chamber opened to allow members and visitors to move around and get something to eat before returning to finish up the last few bits of business for the year. Hannah waited in her seat for her parents, until Cho slipped into an open seat next to her. She wanted to pull the other girl into a kiss, but restrained herself, that wasn't the kind of news her father would appreciate seeing on the front page of the Prophet, so Hannah limited herself to smiling widely.

"I told Harry that the dancing practice would come in handy, and it looks like I was right!" Cho said with a grin, "Have you been to one of these Ministry events before?" Hannah shook her head, "Lucky you, they are usually some of the most boring nights of the year, everybody congratulating themselves for getting through the year and doing just enough to keep their jobs. But this year is going to be a lot more interesting, with Fudge being bounced and your dad getting the job, not to mention Harry making his first steps into the public eye, and people will be lining up to try and get tickets."

Cho saw the look on her face, "I know, he's not looking forward to that part of it, but people are interested in him because of what his mum and dad did, and unless he leaves the Wizarding World entirely, it's not going to stop, so he's going to try and control how people see him, to slap down Rita Skeeter and her sort of garbage. Besides, we're not going to be there very long tonight, just long enough to dance a couple of dances. You will save him a dance, won't you? And then Pansy has a very interesting memory to watch of Daphne Greengrass, the potential Black consort, and we're both very curious to see it. We'll save a copy for you to enjoy before we get back on the Express."

Hannah grinned widely, "That should be interesting, I've been curious what she hides under her robes for a while now."

Cho smiled conspiratorially and leaned closer, "You aren't the only one! And I know that the twins are just as interested, so it should be a fun night when we get back to Hogwarts!"

Longbottom Lodge

Greenhouse One

Saturday, December 31st, 1994

3:00 PM

Neville had taken advantage of the emergency Wizengamot meeting to catch up with some things that needed to be trimmed or replanted in the first greenhouse, and had completely lost track of time until a sharp bark caught his attention and he looked up, seeing the snowy owl perched on one of the beams above his head. He was surprised momentarily, wondering what prompted Harry to contact him, but just smiled at the watching owl and said, "Good Afternoon Hedwig, got something for me, girl?"

The owl looked down at him, and Neville would be almost willing to swear that that Hedwig rolled her eyes at him, and wondered, not for the first time, just how intelligent Harry's owl really was?

When he reached out his hand, Hedwig glided down and held out her leg, letting Neville remove the letter. As he opened the envelope, he said, "Thanks Hedwig, there's a fresh water bowl and something for you to nibble on. Was Harry expecting a response?"

She shook her head, before stopping to get a quick drink and flying off to the new roost. She didn't know exactly what had changed things, but she approved of the new roost, it was much better home than the 'land of no bacon', but there was a handsome snowy male who perched there too, and she was looking forward to having several chicks soon, because she wasn't getting any younger, and her Harry would need a dependable owl when she couldn't fly anymore.

Completely unaware of the owl's thoughts as she disappeared in the distance, Neville opened the envelope and was surprised to find a second envelope nested inside. The sealed envelope was sealed, and he took a second look because the seal was by the Head of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter, and it was addressed to The Dowager Lady Longbottom, Regent, Most Ancient and Nobel House of Longbottom, the letter is sealed by the Potter Ring Seeing that seal was almost as big a surprise at seeing the letter addressed using the old forms. Harry had never given any indication that he was aware of his status, or, more important, the status of his family. Neville had just assumed that Harry was aligning himself and what was left of the Potter family, with the Progressive Bloc, that tended to look down on the old forms. Considering his closest friends were the Weasleys', and Malfoy's family was one of the primary supporters of the Traditionalist bloc, it really shouldn't be a surprise. Or so he thought, until he opened the letter with his name on it and started reading, his temper raising at the questions Harry was asking, and a much clearer description of how his life was, growing up with his non-magical relatives. It seemed that, even with his parents being in St Mungo's, that he was the lucky one, he actually knew who they were, instead of being drunken layabouts who killed themselves in an accident. Setting the letters down, he washed and dried his hands before taking the letters with him into the house. He was mentally composing the letter he was going to send back and his Gran's voice calling him caught him by surprise. He hadn't even noticed she was back from the Wizengamot. Before the old woman could chide him for his inattention, Neville handed her the letter from Harry and continued thinking about how he would respond to Harry's letter, and flipping the parchment over, making a list of publicly available books covering the True Sacred Twenty-Eight, and the role the Potter's and the Longbottom's played in developing magical Britain. There were a few public histories of the Potter-Longbottom Alliance and he made a note to order an extra copy for Hermione, knowing that the girl was one of Harry's closest friends, and a sponge for information.

His gran handed him the letter just as he finished the list of books to order, and she said, "How much of this were you aware of?"

After scanning the letter, Neville answered honestly that he had believed Harry had decided to align with the Weasley Family, since they were long time Dumbledore supporters, and Dumbledore had made himself responsible for Harry's safety. Since the first time he had encountered Harry on the Express he was with Ron Weasley, Neville had just assumed that Harry was doing things deliberately.

Augusta was frowning, but she nodded, "I'm just concerned if this was a simple oversight, since Dumbledore is too busy for the jobs he has and it slipped his mind. Because if it was a deliberate decision to keep the Head of an Most Ancient and Noble family ignorant of his position, a case could be made for usurpation of a family line, punishable by the Dementor's Kiss. Granted, I'm inclined to think it was a simple oversight, but Dumbledore's reactions should give us an idea of what is going on."

Taking a look at the list of books Neville had written down, she nodded and added a few others, questioning the extra copies, leaving Neville to explain who Hermione is, and her relationship with Harry. The old woman smiled reminiscently before filling Neville on the events of the Wizengamot meeting, and questioned Neville as to why he wasn't surprised that Samuel Abbott was the new Minister, and was shocked at what Neville told her, not having any idea of the complex relationship that the young man was involved in. But then she remembered a couple of people from her time in Hogwarts, and their tangle of relationships, would make Lord Potter-Black's family seem straightforward. Checking the time, she told Neville that they would be leaving around 8:00 pm, so he should make sure the letter is complete and the books are ordered before getting cleaned up, she was determined to get to the Ballroom as the doors opened so that Neville could have a chance to speak to Harry about answering his questions. Since this was part of what Neville was planning to do, he didn't make any objections as he carried his letter from Harry up to his room.

Hogwarts Express

Wednesday, January 4th, 1995

11:00 AM

Back to school at last! Hannah thought with a smile as the Express started moving on it's trek to Scotland. It had been less than 2 weeks, but she was exhausted, Merlin knows how Harry and Cho must be feeling. The worst part was having to stay at home or with the family during the last part of the break, to present the image of a happy family to the public. It could have been worse than it was, because there was already a noticeable change in her mother's behavior. She was still fairly strange about sex, but she had actually volunteered an apology to Hannah for snooping, and the comments she had made about Harry, so it was a lot less stressful the last few days.

She was impressed with Harry's expansion charms, since the carriage was even larger than the one they had used to leave Hogwarts the morning after the Yule Ball. Of course, the carriage had to hold more people, since they were joined by Heidi as the Abbott Family Concubine, and Daphne Greengrass, wearing the Black Family Crest on her robes as the family consort. She had spoken to Cho briefly about the memory of Pansy's, and all Cho would do was grin lasciviously, and say to wait, the real thing was even better!

No matter what Hannah tried, Cho just kept grinning, but not saying a word, until Parvati and Padma arrived, with the Potter crest, and then Luna, wearing the Black Crest on her robes, showing she was the future Lady Black. Susan was there, sitting right beside her, and her friend was bursting with the news about Zach Smith. His father, as head of the Smith family, had to make a public apology to Sophie and the Roper family because of Zach's behavior the night of the Yule Ball, and the prat was being taken out of Hogwarts for the Spring Term, to have home tutors, and a decision will be made later if he will be allowed back in September or not.

Hannah really hadn't considered the political implications of his behavior that night, but it was something she was going to need to be aware of with her father's new position.

The train was moving faster, and leaving London behind, and Harry had his wand in hand, pointing at the window, to cast the privacy charms, when there was a knock on the carriage door, making him jerk, turning to see Neville standing there, a serious look on his face. He was holding several book in his hands and Hannah was curious what they were, but held back from indulging her curiosity. Harry opened the carriage door and welcomed Neville in, and he closed the door behind him.

Clearing his throat, he said, "After I got your letter Saturday, it shocked me just how much you don't know, especially when you say you don't even know where to find the right questions to ask." Holding out the books, he continued, "These are books that are generally available in the book shops, or Hogwarts Library that have a basic look at the history of the Potter Family and the Sacred Twenty-Eight, and this one is the public information about the beginnings of the Potter-Longbottom Alliance. You probably have more information in the family vaults, but that has a lot of family magic and secrets included, so nobody who's not part of the family can read them. My Gran is offering to teach you, and the other members of House Potter, what is known of the Potter history, plus the traditions and why they are still important. When I see Hermione, I'm going to offer the same training, just because, whether she is or not, people assume that she is under Potter family protection, so her actions reflect on you."

Hannah swore softly, she knew about that, but didn't apply it to Hermione and Harry's situation, and made a point to speak to Hermione before the Welcome Feast. Harry was looking around the carriage, and Daphne and Pansy were nodding, and he turned back to Neville, he started to say something before stopping and shaking her head, "I was going to ask you to let your Gran know that I would be happy to accept her help, but instead, after dinner tonight can we get together and you can show me how to write the appropriate letter?"

Neville smiled, "Sure, I've got a copy of a book of different writing requirements in my trunk, it's got things like different letters depending on the Social Rank of the people involved, not to mention how to write essays properly."

Harry grimaced, "I really wish somebody had told me some of these little things when I found out I was a wizard. There's probably nothing I could have done to keep Snape from hating me, but it might have kept me from offending Draco when we first met. We wouldn't have been friends, but it would have been nice to have one less enemy in my life." He smiled suddenly, "Oh well, considering he's going to spend the rest of his life in Azkaban, and well," He gestured to all the girls in the carriage, "I'm not, I'm not going to worry about if I could have avoided offending the ponce, I will need to contact Sirius to make sure that those of us in the Black Family know what our roles and responsibilities are, I'm sure they are different from what the Potter Family requires, and when we are 100 percent certain about the Abbott continuation will be plenty of time to learn the family traditions."

After a few more minutes, Neville left and Harry cast the locking and privacy charms on the doors, walls and windows, and to Daphne's amused surprise, all of them had stripped down to the skin, and Hannah looked at Harry, and said, "Are we done with the serious business for now? Because I've been waiting for this for far too long!"

He just laughed and sat back in the seat, his legs spread and she knelt down, licking her lips as her hands reached for him.

End Chapter Seventeen – It's been a while, hasn't it? Sorry about that, hopefully the words will stick around for a while this time. I know the chapter is a bit short, but I was determined to get them back on the Express heading toward Hogwarts by the end of the chapter.
