Episode 153: Why? Wynaut!
Still in Blackthorn City, Mew and her friends are sitting on the balcony of the Blackthorn City gym overlooking the lake for breakfast.
Clair comes out and says, "Thanks for waiting, guys. I'm sorry this took so long. I hope you're all still hungry." and place the food on the table.
Everyone happily agrees.
"That looks great!" Mew says.
"Thanks. Bet I know why you're so cheerful today, Mew, and it's not cause of the food," Clair says.
"You're right. I've got eight badges, so I can finally compete in the Johto League," Mew says.
"Officially, it's referred to as the Johto League Silver Conference," Clair says.
"Really? The Silver Conference?" Tomo questions.
Even the Pokemon are confused.
Then Misty asks, "Clair, do you know when and where the conference is gonna be?"
"Yes, It'll take place three months from now in Silver Town at the foot of Mt. Silver," Clair says.
"Sounds good to me," Mew says.
"Still, it's going to be three months away," Jen says.
"Yeah. I'll need to register for the conference and I got a lot of training to do as well," Mew says.
Clair then asks, "Mew, where did you register so that you could travel around to each of the Johto League gyms?"
"New Bark Town," Mew answers.
"Then it's no problem," Clair says, "You can register for the Silver Conference in the New Bark Town Pokemon Center."
"Well, it looks like we know where we're going," Mew says.
"It's going to take a while to get there, so it will be good to make sure we have some supplies," Brock says.
"That's true," Mew says.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is spying on them, again while having lunch
"Well, what do you know? The Pokemon speaking twerpette finally has all eight of his badges," Jessie says.
"Bout time. You tinking what I'm tinking, James?" Meowth replies.
"I'm thinking people would pay a lot of money for those badges if we got our hands on em," James says.
But Jessie says, "You two have it all wrong."
That has the boys confused.
"You have a better idea, Jessie?" James questions.
"Of course!" Jessie answers, "If I had all eight of those badges, I could compete in the tournament myself!"
"Have you somehow blocked out what happened to us at the Indigo Plateau?" James questions.
"Stick wit da crimes you're good at!" Meowth says.
As Team Rocket talks, the Wynaut from before steals their remaining food.
"I just know this time will be different!" Jessie says with confidence.
"Alright," The boys agree.
"Whatever," James adds.
"If you can take da humiliation, so can I," Meowth says.
"Then we all agree! Let's eat our donut holes and celebrate!" Jessie happily says.
Jessie soon realizes their donut holes are gone, "Where'd they go?! There was a whole bag of donut holes here!"
James and Meowth cry out, "Wobbuffet!"
Everyone looks towards Wobbuffet.
"Last time you ate eleven of our Manju!" Jessie shouts.
"Dis time's da holes out of em!" Meowth angrily says.
"And what do you have to say for yourself?!" James demands.
Wobbuffet cries out, "Wo. Wo. Wo. Wo. WOBBUFFET!" (I. Tell. You. It. WASN'T ME!)
Moments later, Mew and her friends are now leaving the gym.
"That was a great breakfast," Mew says.
"Yeah. The food is great," Tomo says.
Molly happily says, "I can't wait to get to New Bark Town."
Soon, Team Rocket shows up in reporter and photographer disguises.
Jessie and James happily say, "Hello there."
"Is it true you're the twer…" Jessie says, but quickly stops herself, "I mean, trainer, Mrew?"
"We're reporters for the Pokémon Daily," James says.
"Really? You're news reporters?" Mew questions.
Then Jessie and James say, "Congratulations to you three."
"Rumor has it that you won your eighth badges and are now on your way to participate in the Johto League Silver Conference. Tell us about it," Jessie says.
"I'm sure our readers would be interested in hearing about your adventures," James says.
"Hmmm… I'm getting interviewed already and the Silver Conference isn't even for three months," Mew says.
"Don't get a big head, Mew. And don't forget to mention your friends in the article,"Misty says.
"Then let's get to the interview," Jessie says, and pushes Mew towards the photo area, "But first some photos right over here." Then removes Mew's things, "These stuff just won't do let's try something more you."
Then James rushes over, "I've got just the thing! Try this on!"and puts on some cloak on her.
While James distracts Mew, Jessie hands off Mew's belongings to Meowth.
Jessie whispers, "Here it is, Meowth. Hurry up."
Meowth takes Mew's stuff, "One switcheroo coming up!"
Meanwhile, Mew is dressed like a queen.
Ï'm not sure about this," Mew replies.
"Just like a queen, only shorter. Now give me some poses," James says.
Mew decides to do so, to James'apporval.
Meanwhile, Meowth admires Mew's badges, "Look at em! Da head twoip's badges are ours and we didn't even break a sweat swiping em!" And has them in a box.
"Wooobu!" (I'll say!) Wobbuffet says.
Meowth then hands Mew's belongings back to Jessie, and quietly says, "Here you are."
"Good. Now get out of sight," Jessie quietly says.
"K,"Meowth quietly says.
"Let's go," Jessie quietly says.
Jessie soon steps back in after another photo, "Well, that about wraps it up, here's your jacket."
"Your fans will love these pictures," James says.
"Thank you for your time," Jessie says.
"You mean the interview's over?"Mew says, confused.
Then Jessie and James say, "Good luck in the conference!"
"Üm excuse me, aren't you guys suppose to ask me questions and stuff? I mean, I was prepared to answer your questions,"Mew questions.
Suddenly, Jessie and James stop in their tracks and try to burst into the motto.
"Wait. Prepare," Jessie says.
"And make," James says.
Meowth quietly says, "Not now. Yous gotta resist the oige!"
"He better not say," Jessie says.
"Anything else,"James says.
"Well, I mean, you've went through all the trouble…" Mew says.
The last word finally tears it for them.
Jessie: (removes disguise)
Alright, then, prepare for trouble!
James: (removes disguise)
And while you're at it, make it double!
Mew yelps, "Team Rocket!"
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above!

Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth. Dere was no stoppin em.
Everyone but Mew exclaims, "Team Rocket!"
"Yeah, whatever. We didn't make a clean getaway, so what?" Jessie says.
"We do have what we came for," James says.
"Your stinkin' badges!" Meowth adds.
"My badges?!" Mew asks, shocked.
She checks her bags and even her pockets, but her badges are not there. Instead, there are bottle caps.
"I hope you don't mind, but we've taken your badges and replaced them with eight bottle caps we found on the road," Jessie says.
"They're worthless, but you have to admit, they are attractive," James says.
"Didn't you three try the same stunt at Kanto?" Tomo questions.
"Earn your badges like a normal person,"Mew says.
"Sorry, but we're not normal people," Jessie says.
"We're Team Rocket, it's our job to steal," James says.
"Have a nice day!" Meowth says.
Then they run off.
Mew chases after them, "Come back here, you crooks!"
"Mew, wait!" Jen calls out.
Soon, everyone begins to chase after Team rocket.
Soon, Wobbuffet reaches the rendezvous point, marked by a Jessie flag. But while it waited, something caught Wobbuffet's nose. When it went to investigate, it found some cherries and got thoughts of its teammates thanking it for the food. But while Wobbuffet picked the cherries, the Wynaut watches nearby. Once Wobbuffet set the box, badges and cherries down, Wynaut made its move and stole them all, but Wobbuffet catches it in the act and the two proceed to argue before Team Rocket shows up.
"Good job, Wobbuffet," James says.
"Now, give me the case, I want to see my precious badges," Jessie says.
Wobbuffet looks in the bushes, the badges, cherries and the Wynaut that took them were gone.
"What's the matter, Wobbuffet?" Jessie asks.
Wobbuffet tries to convey what happened.
"What? You better not be telling us you lost that case, Wobbuffet!" James says.
Wobbuffet tries to say it didn't.
"Then hand it over, bubble head! I want it!" Jessie angrily says.
"She wants it!" James angrily says.
But Meowth says, "Hold on a minute, I tink it's trying to tell us dat someting happened to it."
Wobbuffet begins to explain, "WOBBUFFET!" (The case was right there, when some strange Pokemon came out of the bush and snatched it!)
Meowth yelps, "Whoa! It's saying da case was right here when some strange Pokemon came outta da bush, and just snatched it!"
"Give me a break!" Jessie angrily says.
"If you saw it, what kind of Pokemon was it?!" James asks.
Wobbuffet tries to explain.
"Speak English for crying out loud!" Jessie screams.
Wobbuffet proceeds to draw out what it saw.
James guesses, "It's my childhood nanny! What was she doing here?"
"WOBBUFFET," (It was blue.) Wobbuffet confirms.
"Wobbuffet says it was a blue color," Meowth says.
"Well, then it must've been a Wooper," Jessie theorizes.
"Excellent, then we know what to look for!" James says.
"So, when we find the Wooper, we find the badges!" Jessie says.
Team Rocket cheers, "Yay!"
"WOBBUFFET," (That's, not right.) Wobbuffet says.
Meanwhile, Mew and her friends have regrouped in the woods.
"Find anything?" Mew asks.
"Not a trace of em," Brock says.
"Nope. Nothing," Tomo says.
"If nothing else, those three sure are good at running," Misty says.
Then Clair says, "If you report that your badges were stolen, Mew, I'm sure they'll be reissued in time."
"Yeah, you're right, but those badges were special,"Mew says, and remembers all her battles she and her Pokemon fought to get the badges, "I earned my Zephyr badge from Falkner at the Violet gym, and I got my Hive badge from Bugsy at the Azalea gym. My Plain badge came from Whitney in the Goldenrod gym. I earned the Fog badge from Morty at the Ecruteak gym, and then my Storm badge from Chuck in the Cianwood gym, and my Mineral badge from Jasmine in the Olivine gym. I got my Glacier badge from Pryce in the Mahogany gym, and finally, my Rising badge from you, Clair, in the Blackthorn gym." Then her flashback ends, and says, "Every one of those badges is a memory of the badges and trainers I faced. Even if I replace them, it won't be the same.
"I understand why those badges are so important and we won't give up till we find them!" Clair says.
"Besides, how hard could it be to outsmart Team Rocket?" Brock replies.
"Knowing those three idiots, not very hard," Jen says.
"We'll get those badges back if we just work together," Misty says.
All the Pokemon agree.
"Thanks a lot, you guys," Mew says.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is searching for the Wooper.
"Well, we know Woopers like water," Jessie says.
Soon, Jessie spots one, "There's one! That's probably it."
"But I don't see the badge case," James says.
"Öh, I'm certain that's the one!" Jessie says and leaps in, "Come here, little thief!"
But the Wooper hops away.
"I got you!" James says.
The Wooper hops away from James, as well.
"Heh! Won't get past me!" Meowth says.
The Wooper dives into the river with Meowth on its tail, but he resurfaces with a rock.
"I missed!" Meowth cries out.
The Wooper proceeds to swim away with Team Rocket on its tail.
Jessie and James cry out, "Get back here!"
The Wooper then hops across some rocks.
"Stop!" Jessie and James cry out.
The Wooper proceeds to escape into the woods.
"Give us back those badges!" Team Rocket cries out.
Wobbuffet tries to chase after them, trying to explain that it's not the Pokemon they need to find.
Meanwhile…
Mew calls out, "Bayleef and Noctowl now come on out!"
Soon, both come out of the Pokeballs.
"I need your help. Team Rocket stole my badges and we need to find them. Spread out and find those stolen badges!" Mew says.
The Pokemon agree and does just that.
Clair is searching for them from the air.
"With any luck, we'll spot em from up here," Clair says.
Back on the ground…
Misty says, "Ï just hope they haven't already left the area,"
"Let's start looking this way," Brock says.
Ökay," Molly says.
Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, Tomo, Meloetta, and Skwovet climb on some rocks.
Mew says in thought, "I just gotta get those badges back no matter what it takes."
Soon, Noctowl and Bayleef regroup, but admit they found nothing, until they hear and spot the Wynaut. They approach it and the Wynaut explains that it can't open the case, so Bayleef does so for it. The Wynaut dumps the cherries out along with the badges. As Wynaut eat the cherries, Bayleef and Noctowl know that they have found the badges and need to tell Mew. Noctowl does just that and flies off to find Mew and the others.
Meanwhile, Mew, Tomo, and their Pokemon are searching at the creek.
"We've gone pretty far, guys, and there's still no sign of em. They could be far away by now," Mew says.
Ï'm sure we'll find them," Tomo says.
Noctowl soon flies in.
"What is it Noctowl?" Mew asks.
Noctowl confirms it found the badges.
"Alright! I knew you'd find the badges!" Mew says.
The Pokemon happily agree.
Meanwhile, Bayleef lays out the badges on a leaf while Wynaut eats the cherries, that is until the Wooper Team Rocket is chasing comes its way, prompting it to hide as Team Rocket shows up.
"Here, Wooper," Jessie says.
"You can't get away now!" James says.
"Cough up dose badges!" Meowth says.
Team Rocket soon spots them.
Team Rocket cires out, "There they are right there!"
"So everything's working out perfectly. Wooper led us right to them," Jessie says.
"Wooobu." (Guess so.) Wobbuffet replies.
Bayleef soon steps in.
"Say! What does the twerp's Bayleef think it's doing here!" James questions.
Jessie angrily says, "Hey, you! Back away from the badges and get out of here!"
Bayleef, however, stands her ground.
"Oh, yeah? You wanna become a Bayleef salad?" Meowth replies.
"You're just as blockheaded as your twerp trainer," Jessie says.
"If that's the way you want it, we won't go easy on you!" James says.
Soon, Wynaut watches from nearby.
Jessie throws her Pokeball and calls out, "Arbok, take out the Bayleef and get those badges back!"
Arbok comes out, "Go, Victreebel!"
Victreebel comes out, but it starts chomping on James'head.
"Not me, you vegetable! Attack the enemy!" James cries out.
Jessie calls out, "Arbok, Poison Sting attack!"
Arbok fires the attack, but Bayleef takes the badges, the Wooper and evades.
"Victreebel, Vine Whip, now!" James cries out.
Victreebel's vine trips up Bayleef, causing the badges to go flying while Bayleef and the Wooper land in the bushes.
"Okay, Arbok, finish it off with Poison Sting, now!" Jessie calls out.
Arbok fires the attack, but Wynaut leaps in and reflects the attack with Counter.
"What?!"James exclaims.
Jessie cries out, "Arbok?!"
"What in da woild?!" Meowth says in shock.
Wynaut gets away as Arbok goes down.
"Someone tell me what just happened," Jessie says.
"Was dere a random counterattack?" Meowth questions.
"All I saw was this flash of blue and they both went down!" James says.
Bayleef gets up and she wonders what happened.
"At least we got the badges," James says.
Jessie happily says, "Oh, goody! My dreams can still come true!"
Meowth takes the badges, "Come to Meowth!"
"Drop em!" Mew's voice demands.
Soon, Mew, Tomo, and their Pokemon show up.
"Give me back my badges!" Mew demands.
The Pokemon even demands it.
But James laughs, "Ha! We worked hard stealing these trinkets!"
"So we ain't just handin 'em ovah!" Meowth says.
Jessie calls out, "Arbok, Poison Sting attack!"
Arbok fires the attack
"Look out!" Mew calls out.
Ash and his Pokemon jump out of the way.
Team Rocket calls out, "That's our cue!"
They rush off.
"Hey!" Mew shouts as she and the others pursue them, "We're not letting you get away!"
They soon find the balloon taking off as Team Rocket laughing.
"If you want them so bad, then come and get them," Jessie says.
"Of course, you'd have to acquire the power of flight!" James says
"Face it, dese eight badges are ours now!" Meowth says.
And James says, "I suppose you could get lucky and buy them back once we put them up for auction, even though the show is likely to get canceled and we'll be out of work!"
But Jessie takes the badges, "I told you both before that they're not for sale, I'm using them to enter the Silver Conference."
"You mean to tell us that you were serious?" James asks, shocked.
"Is your wig on too tight?!" Meowth asks.
Mew turns to Bayleef, "Bayleef, I need you to use your Vine Whip and throw me up to that balloon, alright?"
Bayleef agrees.
"Okay, go!" Mew says.
Bayleef throws Mew as hard as she could.
"Are you challenging me?!" Jessie demands the boys.
"Maybe I am!" James angrily says.
"Can't we settle dis like honest tieves?" Meowth says.
"Give em back!" Mew shouts.
Team Rocket looks and finds Mew soaring right towards them.
Mew shouts, "They're mine, Team Rocket!"
"She's flying?" Jessie exclaims.
"But, that is impossible!" James says in shock.
"Time to hit da grass!" Meowth says.
The flame burns brighter.
"Wait!" Mew cries out.
Team Rocket cries out, "Faster! Faster! Faster!"
However, Mew barely misses and drops like a rock.
Pikachu and Eevee cry out in their language, "Mew!"
Team Rocket calls out, "Happy landings! See you next fall!"
Noctowl zooms in and catches Mew, but loses his grip quickly.
"Dragonair, quick!" Clair calls out.
Mew lands safely on Dragonair.
"Hold on. Are you alright?" Clair asks.
"Yeah, but that was a close one," Mew says.
"We got to you just in time,"Clair says.
"But, they're getting away with my badges," Mew says.
But Clair says, "No."
"You think Dragonair can catch up to that balloon?" Mew asks.
"We're about to find out," Clair says.
They soon hear Pikachu's voice, "Pika Pi!" (Mew!)
The group looks down to see the Pokemon and Tomo running alongside on the ground with the others.
"Pika Pika!" (Let us, help you!) Pikachu says.
"Ëevee Eevee!" (We'll help you get your badges back!) Eevee says.
Mew nods her head and says, Ï get it. Pikachu and Eevee want to get the badges back!"
Then calls out, "Noctowl, get Pikachu and Eevee to the balloon!"
Noctowl swoops down and lets Pikachu and Eevee on its back before zooming at the balloon.
James notices, "Now we've got Pikachu, Eevee, and Noctowl coming after us!"
"This is annoying, don't they know when they're beaten?" Jessie says.
Then turns to Meowth, "Hit the gas, Meowth, and get us out of here!"
"It won't go no faster, it's on full blast already," Meowth says.
"What?!" Jessie says, upset.
Then Mew says, "I told you you wouldn't get away with it!" Then she calls out, "Pikachu, Eevee, Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu and Eevee both perform the attack, destroying the balloon and sending Team Rocket flying.
"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.
As Team Rocket flies off the badges fall.
"My badges!" Mew cries out.
Clair calls out, "Dragonair!"
Soon, everyone is able to catch the badges.
Mew and the others soon reunite with the others.
"Thanks, guys. I think I got all my badges back. Let me count em," Mew says and begins to count, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven…" but notices the Rising badge is missing, "I've only got seven of my badges here! I'm missing my Rising badge!"
"What?!" The group exclaims.
"Let's look for it!" Clair says.
Suddenly, they hear a "Wynaut!" (It's over here!)
Everyone stops to hear the voice. They turn to see the Wynaut from before.
"Ït's a Wynaut," Brock says.
"What's it doing here?" Molly asks.
Wynaut walks over to Mew and presents the Rising Badge to Mew.
"My Rising Badge!" Mew says, surprised.
"Wynaut. Wy Wynaut," (I found it. I believe it's yours.) Wynaut says.
Mew takes her badge, "Thank you, Wynaut."
"Wynaut," (You're welcome.) Wynaut says.
"So you finally have all your badges back again, right?" Misty says.
"That's terrific news, Mew," Clair says.
"No kidding," Brock says, "Glad we finally got that problem sorted out, now we can have some lunch.
Later, at the Blackthorn Pokemon Center, Mew and the others are calling their relative and Professor Oak.
"What's that? I thought I heard you say that you have all eight of your badges,"Professor Oak asks.
"Yep. That's right, Professor," Mew says.
"Wow! Amazing, Mew!" Professor Oak says, "I'm very impressed with how fast you've accomplished this feat.
"Thanks to you, Professor," Mew says. "So I'll let you touch the victor's cup when I bring it home."
Professor chuckles, "I don't doubt it. You command almost as much respect from your Pokemon as I…"
The Pokemon behind the professor, mainly Bulbasaur, Kingler, Muk and Snorlax, soon crowd and squish him.
"You're crushing my spleen!" Processor Oak cries out.
The call abruptly ends as Ash, Eevee, and Pikachu look on, perplexed.
Later that evening, Clair is giving our heroes instructions to get back to New Bark Town.
"Follow this road, it'll take you to the sea. Then take the coastline and you'll hit New Bark Town in a day or so," Clair says.
"Thank you for all your help, Clair,"Mew says.
"It was really nice meeting you," Misty says.
Brock comes up to Clair in tears, "I can't believe it's time for us to part. After all that we've been through together, I feel so close to you now."
And Misty shoves him down the road, "Oh, put a sock in it, Brock. Time for you to feel close to the road."
"So we're off on our way to New Bark Town. Hope to see you again," Mew says.
Soon, everyone starts heading down the road.
Clair says her goodbyes, "Good luck in the Silver Conference, you three! And be careful out there, guys!"
Everyone bids their farewells to Clair. With sheer determination, Mew reclaims the eight badges that were taken from her, with a little help from Wynaut. Now, she and her friends make their way toward New Bark Town, where Mew will finally register for the Johto League Silver Conference.
