I'm not great at summaries. So here is the basic concept it wasn't Rukia that met Ichigo that fateful night he was attacked by the hollow Fishbone. Instead it was someone much older, and much stronger who saw his potential, and decided to train him after witnessing him as a mere human fight and nearly defeat a hollow.
