Chapter 55: Dangerous Duel In The Icy Cavern! Yukishimou's Blue Shades of Fury & Kaze's Green Shades of Joy! The Emerald Path To Victory!
Lucy decided to test out her theory by activating the spell called Windy Sky Tower, and she created two rings of emerald green wind in her hands. Afterwards, she spun around rapidly while using Kaze's Feather Dance to move at high speeds to the point where her body rotated fast enough to make the rings take in more wind. She threw them at Suzuna, seeing the rings immediately burst to create a large tower of emerald green winds, and Suzuna screamed in pain from being hit by that attack. That didn't stop her from unleashing a spell called Blizzard Ice Storm, however.
Suzuna shot out a frigid and spiraling light blue beam of energy from her mouth, the beam having snowflakes rotating inside of it, and the area around the beam became extremely cold from the frost that came from it.. Lucy attempted to dodge the beam, only to see it become lapis blue before hitting the ground in front of her. The beam created a lapis blue explosion, before the icy energy went down into the ground. That prompted Suzuna to aggressively slam her left hand on to the ground, resulting in a spiraling twister of icy wind emerging from below Lucy's feet.
The frost from earlier was caught in the air current, powering up the icy wind twister even more. Lucy screamed in a somewhat worried manner from being carried high into the air, but the situation only got worse when Suzuna unleashed the spell known as Blizzard Trail. She shot out a large burst of Ice God Magic from her mouth, seeing it be in a plain blue color, and the attack quickly became glacial blue. It struck the tower of icy wind, creating an explosion that spun around in the winds, and sharp blades of icy air were about to strike Lucy.
Before that could happen, Risa hit the tower of icy winds with the spell called Psychic's Dark Magenta Burning Rei. She made her fists be coated in dark magenta fire, before running up to the tower and striking it to make hot burns be on it. The icy winds started to melt down into water from Risa constantly striking the tower to intensely raise the amount of heat in the air, and she watched Juvia make the newly created water be a Water Cyclone that would shield Lucy from the blades! Juvia's spell took the brunt of the attack, allowing Lucy to quickly fall down to the ground. As Lucy landed in front of Risa, Juvia turned to sternly face Suzuna.
"Juvia does not appreciate that you wish to kill us all, especially after Juvia and others unsealed the goddess!" Juvia shouted to Suzuna, her eyes becoming filled with the feeling of anger.
That prompted Suzuna to calmly reply, sounding almost nonchalant, "You were only useful for the skills that you possess, just like when I recruit any other person for a task. If none of you were chosen by Emiria or Hiyasu, then you wouldn't have piqued my interest to where I'd think you'd be useful pawns."
Upon overhearing Suzuna's statement, Kusabue thought to herself with a shocked facial expression as small tears started to enter her eyes, "All those times that Suzuna seemed nice... She was just lying the whole time!"
Juvia didn't appreciate Suzuna's schemes and dishonesty, prompting her to try and attack the strong woman with the Water Slicer spell. However, Suzuna exhaled a high amount of icy breath from her mouth before the spell could touch her. Suzuna's icy breath was part of a spell called Frost Charge, and she made a lapis blue aura engulf her body. The aura went into Suzuna's body, before appearing around her in the form of a lapis blue sphere of frost that rotated clockwise. Judging by the aura entering Suzuna's body, that must've been the explanation for how she could charge up power into her shield.
That prompted Suzuna to unleash a spell called Water God's Rushing Stream, and Suzuna made another surge of power engulf her body in the form of an ocean blue aura. She tightly clenched both of her fists, before moving her hands to create the gestures of ocean waves. That made the water from Juvia's attack grow in size, before rushing towards her in the form of fast-moving streams, and Juvia stretched out both of her hands to make a large wall of water rise up in front of her. The ocean blue water became denser as Juvia applied Water Magic from her hands to the barrier, but it quickly fell apart.
Suzuna's water only grew larger and faster, crashing into Juvia and the other mages. Jenny wasted no time with building a large amount of Ice Magic in her palms, and she fired six light blue aura spheres of Ice Magic at the water. It quickly became frozen by a thick sheet of ice, followed by Lyon choosing to use his Ice-Make Magic to create a spell called Ice-Make: Sea Dragon, and Lyon created a giant light green dragon. Before it rammed into the ice, Jenny fired another ball of her Ice Magic at the sea dragon for it to become light blue. That caused the ice dragon to crash into the ice, but the aftereffect involved the ice becoming much thicker.
"Ice God's Winter Avalanche!" Suzuna shouted fiercely, as she aimed her left hand up at the icy cavern's ceiling.
Upon foreseeing the effect of that attack, Risa yelled in a stern manner while creating a dark magenta sphere in her right hand, "Psychic Magenta's Shadowy Judgement of Heaven and Hell!"
Lucy thought to herself, narrowing her eyes as she frowned, "Even if that spell is countered, there's so much ice around here. Risa, you better have a plan."
Risa watched the sphere alternate between the regular shade of magenta and the darker shade of magenta, and the sphere was even casting black shadows that moved outward. Risa wasted no time with throwing the sphere up at Suzuna's attack, watching it become a regular shade of magenta, and the sphere repelled the giant mass of sky blue Ice Magic that came down from some small clouds of frost that had been overhead. The beam was repelled back up towards the icy cavern's ceiling, resulting in a massive sky blue blast occurring!
It created several large cracks in the ceiling, allowing heavy amounts of snow to fall into the icy cavern, and Suzuna watched the aftereffect of her spell freeze the ceiling with dense ice. The blast made the air become more cold and frigid, making the cavern become much more frozen as if the group was now in the tundra. That caused Risa to unleash the spell called Magenta's Glittering Psychic Dark Flares, and Risa built up a large amount of magical power to unleash the spell. She shot out a large ring of flames at the snow, before aiming her hands down at the shadows of the flames.
As the flames created fiery explosions and even melted the ice, the taller flames rose up from the shadows and intensely heated up the area again. That led Suzuna to unleash a spell called Ice God's Rolling Waves, and Suzuna aimed her hands down at the water to create scalding and rolling waves that were in a cerulean blue color. That prompted Risa to send her flames towards the waves, resulting in dark magenta explosions of Psychic Magic, and the attacks that collided were able to create a large amount of cerulean blue clouds of steam that were followed by magenta steam clouds.
The thick smoke provided Suzuna with the opportunity to use a spell called Ice God's Fountain, and she fired a navy blue sphere from her right hand. The sphere became neon blue while it went into the air, before firing down five powerful beams at Suzuna's opponents! They all screamed n pain from being hit by the spell, being engulfed in neon blue blasts that were bright and large. The blasts even had their light reflecting off of the ice in the cavern, blinding the five wizards to prevent them from seeing that they were becoming frozen.
Lucy saw the ice quickly go up to her waist and abdomen, prompting her to activate the spell known as Emerald Falling Birds. Lucy looked straight up at the ice while slightly grinning, and she fired a large tornado from her mouth. The tornado quickly exploded into several emerald green pigeons that were made out of wind, and Lucy surprisingly commanded the flock of birds to crash into the ice where she stood! The first bird rammed into the ice, creating a large blast that was emerald green, and the heavy winds that resulted from the blast made the other birds grow larger.
Lucy aimed her hands at the other ice chunks that were growing, using four other birds to free the other winners, and each individual blast made the remaining birds increase in size. Lucy made the unorthodox choice of activating Emerald Falling Birds again, and she aimed the spell at her remaining birds that flew overhead in a circle. The tornado engulfed those birds, before it ended up bursting to create several birds that were slightly smaller, and they resembled the eagles that Lyon could create out of ice. Unlike his spell, these birds seemed to be the result of Lucy fusing that spell with itself to create its evolutionary stage.
She fired the birds at Suzuna, who attempted to counter them with a spell called Ice God's Freeze Blade. She made a sword with a glacier blue blade appear in her left hand while the handle was dark blue, and Suzuna rapidly spun the sword in front of her. It spun counterclockwise while generating icy winds and frost, but the glacier blue icy winds soon turned ocean blue from Suzuna preparing to combine the blizzard with one of Yukishimou's spells of Water Magic. That plan was intercepted by Jenny throwing a sphere of her Ice Magic at the spinning blade, doing that when the blade and the frost were just about to become dark blue, and interrupting the flow of Suzuna's spell made the shield from Ice God's Frost Charge break apart again.
"This is my chance! Emerald Falling Birds, I call upon thee! Attack Suxuna with all of your strength!" Lucy shouted sternly, narrowing her eyes as she pointed at Suzuna.
Juvia thought to herself, seeming impressed with Lucy's recent actions, "If she truly is Lucy, then that was a good strategy."
One of Lucy's giant birds blocked the stream of icy air, before weakly flapping its wings to create emerald green winds that pushed against the icy blue winds. Despite the icy blue winds prevailing in the brief scuffle of which attack could push the other one backwards, the large bird ended up bursting from the act of Lucy lightly clenching her left fist. She watched the bird burst into emerald green blades of wind that flew through the light blue stream of air, slicing through the winds with a denser quality of air, and the scythe-like blades headed straight for Suzuna.
They slammed into her sword, creating massive emerald green blasts that generated tremendous amounts of wind, and that only powered up the other birds. They all flew towards Suzuna at high speeds, ramming into her body at the same moment where the slicing winds cut up her blade, and the emerald green blasts that occurred were just as massive as the ones made by the blades that instantly followed. In contrast to Suzuna wanting her spell to become dark and powerful, Lucy liked how her own spell shined green with genuine brightness.
She heard Suzuna scream in tremendous pain from that attack while raging winds from Lucy's Wind Magic heavily blew through the area, and the air pressure even made some ice on the ground start to break. Lucy ignored the ice, only looking straight ahead to see if the frigid shield around Suzuna was gone. The shield had indeed disappeared, which was evident by Suzuna being heavily bruised and bloodied from the attack. However, Lucy and the others widened their eyes in expressions ranging from being astounded to being intimidated at the sight of Suzuna still standing.
"She managed to endure that powerful attack?!" Risa asked with an astounded look on her face, her eyes expressing disbelief.
Suzuna responded in a calm manner, smiling in a somewhat condescending way, "You're aware that I possess such a high level of power, yet you're surprised that I can withstand attacks."
Lyon told Risa with a frustrated look forming on his face, as he prepared to create some animals made from ice, "It's like she's just standing there to make fun of us. She can utilize those high-speed attacks in such calculated ways, and it's not like Suzuna is a slow thinker."
"She may not think slow, but there may be a way to slow down her next attack. Lyon, this idea of mine is a gamble and you have to help me." Risa stated aloud in a slightly optimistic manner, having a plan take shape in her mind.
Risa created an Esper Ball in her right hand, before running over to Lucy for the purpose of picking up all the broken pieces of ice. Lucy and Lyon watched Risa add the ice to the Esper Ball, seeing the pink lights reflect off of it, and trying to power up the spell with light blue ice oddly made a light pink magenta Esper Ball be in her hand. Risa really hoped that the gamble of merging an immobilizing spell with ice from a fast-moving spell would produce a good result, and her decision to not immediately fire the spell only made Suzuna arrogantly smirk.
Suzuna unleashed the spell called Ice God's Royal Snowfall, and she made a periwinkle blue aura surround her body. She shot out six large spiraling beams of Ice God Magic from her left hand, and she aimed them at the space surrounding the battlefield. The spiraling beams in a periwinkle shade of blue were hastily vanishing into thin air, before snow started quickly falling down from the frosty air like winter snow slowly falling down from the sky. Everyone was nearly blinded by a large blizzard of icy winds appearing around them, which took their attention off of the six spiraling beams falling down from the six largest spheres of snow in the air.
As Risa faintly saw one of the beams, she threw her attack up at it. She kept one eye open like a marksman, seeing her attack get torn through while a light magenta explosion occur, and Suzuna's beam seemed to have that color now. It also noticeably moved a bit slower, starting to lag behind the faster-moving beams that shifted to being neon blue right before they became dark blue, and Risa had a plan. She quickly created another Esper Ball, before picking up ice that had been forming on the ground, and firing another light magenta sphere at the beam caused the attack to explode. The strengthened Esper Ball slowed down the beam to make it even more sluggish, and the Psychic Magic in this chain attack spread outward to where the magic in the air started to move at a slower pace. That also applied to Suzuna's ability of using Ice God's Frost Charge, and she watched the power surge fail to create a shield right now. Upon seeing that, Lucy softly smiled at her theory of Suzuna needing her spells to harmoniously be in the same shade of blue for her to charge up high amounts of power to the extent of nullifying attacks, and any interference with the current hues of blue would weaken the goddess' power enough to where a shield couldn't be charged up. Even if Suzuna was a strong mage, she was attempting to not leave herself open to any attacks.
Suzuna simply watched the dark blue beams fall down to the ground, resulting in the dark blue explosions creating winds in that same color, and the dark blue ice that formed on the ground wasn't much of a problematic aftereffect. It could even withstand the light magenta beam crashing into the ground, but the light magenta blast was quite massive to the point where its heavy winds could be used by Lucy to her own advantage. She activated Wind Altitude Aerial Burst again, gathering up winds for the attack, but Lucy reactivated the spell at the very last moment for her hands to take in much more wind.
She fired the spell at Suzuna in the form of a large beam that was emerald green, noticing that the spell itself seemed to take in more air as it went across the battlefield. Lucy watched Suzuna endure the enormous emerald green explosion, and she used the resulting winds for the opportunity to use Kaze's Feather Dance. Lucy quickly decided to activate that spell again in succession, wanting to give herself an even higher level of speed. That only prompted Suzuna to unleash the spell called Water God's Aquatic Barrier, however.
The spell involved Suzuna shooting out a giant bubble of plain blue water from her left hand, and the bubble was aggressively bubbling with scalding water. Suzuna slashed at the bubble with her right hand that was slightly infused with cerulean blue Ice Magic, which made a smaller bubble emerge from the giant sphere, and it quickly floated towards Jenny. She attempted to strike the bubble with her Ice Magic, only for it to result in a large cerulean blue blast, and Jenny screamed in pain from how the explosion felt extremely hot.
A cerulean blue bubble began to appear in front of the gigantic sphere, circling around it, and Juvia unleashed the attack known as Water Nebula. She aimed her hands at the bubble to create two waves of cerulean blue water that rotated around each other, and they emerged from that bubble for the purpose of Juvia thrusting her hands forward. She attempted to strike the bubble with her Water Magic that had a tremendous amount of force, only to see Suzuna slash at the giant bubble again for the purpose of making a plain blue bubble emerge from it. The bubble became ocean blue while it intercepted Juvia's attack, and the ocean blue explosion that occurred was followed by an ocean blue sphere circling around the larger bubble.
Juvia thought to herself with an astounded look on her face, dodging the blast to see the bursting water reforming that sphere, "Juvia does not believe this! That spell is a vicious attack with boiling water, but it can also be used as a strong defense!"
Suzuna stated in a calm manner, motioning with her right hand for someone else to try attacking her, "Continue with trying to battle me, just so I can crush your spells and enhance this one's strength."
Lyon responded to her with a confident smile appearing on his face, readying his Ice-Make magic, "If you're going to flaunt that Water God Magic, then I just have to freeze it with ice!"
Suzuna sternly replied, narrowing her eyes as she made another slash on the water to create a bubble that turned cobalt blue, "I think you may be wrong."
Lyon unleashed the spell called Ice-Make: Fox, and he created a fox that was made out of light green ice. The icy fox ran towards the bubble at rapid speeds, before biting it with icy fangs to freeze it. However, the faint sight of frost within the bubble informed Lyon that Suzuna was fighting unfairly by mixing Ice Magic into her water. The bubble instantly detonated in a cobalt blue blast while hot water was splashed on to Lyon, and he loudly winced in pain from the heat. Upon seeing the bubble reform itself and circle around Suzuna's attack, it seemed like the theory from earlier had been flawed.
The ice fox melted down into light green water, making Lyon wonder if he should even try creating eagles made from ice, and he glanced at Risa to see her squint a bit. Not only was hot water now existing in this icy cavern, but the hot clouds of steam were starting to obscure the vision of the mages. Combining that with all the smoke in different shades of blue, Suzuna was subtly creating an effective smokescreen. Although, Risa suddenly smiled in a scheming manner as she had an idea related to the bubble that shrunk with each instance where it had been slashed.
She jumped up high into the air, before making the dark magenta aura surround her body to signify a surge of power, and Risa unleashed the spell called Magenta Psychic Glamorous Flames. Risa formed a dark magenta sphere in her mouth, before shooting out a dark magenta stream of flames. The flames were hot enough to where Suzuna quickly slashed at the giant bubble again, creating a plain blue bubble that immediately became sky blue, and directing it towards Risa's flames only made the bubble instantly burst. Some of the flames grew from the heat while others fizzled out, but the sky blue smokescreen gave Risa the perfect excuse for using Stellar Psi to send all the flames down into the shadow of Jenny's charred body. She had a plan to outsmart Suzuna, and Risa briefly foresaw one of her allies cleverly use a spell that would make Suzuna's magic experience various shades of green.
"This is going to be a gamble, but all this wind being generated right now is worth seeing if I can tear through that spell before Suzuna uses it at full strength." Lucy thought to herself with a serious facial expression, before closing her eyes and quickly using Windy Sky Tower twice in a row.
Suzuna told the group of mages in an arrogant tone, closing her eyes for a moment as she gave them a hint about her attack, "Regardless of how many times I have to use this spell, it will go off when the main bubble becomes small enough to act as its own massive bomb before the chain detonation."
That prompted Lucy to respond in a stern manner, applying Wind Magic to the four rings in her hand, "We'll just see if the plan doesn't blow up in your face, Suzuna!"
Before Suzuna could respond, Lucy's earlier decision of using Kaze's Feather Dance allowed her to rapidly spin around in the clockwise direction. The high speed of her spinning made the winds begin to surround her, powering up the rings in the process, and Lucy just kept spinning. She wanted a high amount of air to surround her body, and the winds from the earlier blasts were engulfing her in a dense sphere of air as she continued to spin. The air also broke off pieces of the dark blue ice, making them be swept up in the air to where their moments of touching the rings made large towers of wind be created.
That didn't stop Lucy from spinning, only encouraging her to spin rapidly to where the ice around her was breaking, and putting more air into both attacks of Windy Sky Tower made them increase in size. That only made Suzuna slash at her giant bubble again, sending out a plain blue sphere of Water God Magic that had Ice God Magic mixed into it. The sphere shifted from becoming sapphire blue to being navy blue, and it became neon blue as it got close to Lucy. The sphere ended up striking one of the towers of wind encircling her, the impact generating more wind to make Lucy's towers nearly resemble two emerald green cyclones that were dangerous, and the massive amount of wind made the Emerald Green Ring begin to pulsate in its color.
Speaking of color, Suzuna was as surprised as everyone else to see her bubble become emerald green. Its color quickly became dark green, before changing to being in a neon hue of green, and the bubble was reflected back at Suzuna in the form of several smaller neon green bubbles that contained air moving around inside of them. Being caught in the winds from Windy Sky Tower and Kaze's Feather Dance caused the green bubbles to fly at high speeds as if they nearly moved at warping speeds, and some of them struck Suzuna's spheres. They instantly created neon green implosions that tore through the blue bubbles, before becoming much larger explosions from the intense amount of wind being generated, and the remaining neon green bubbles gained more speed and power from going through the air currents. They aggressively struck Suzuna directly, creating several neon green blasts that were enormous, and the neon green winds all blew back towards Lucy's fifth ring.
They ended up being absorbed into the Emerald Green Ring, causing it to pulsate brightly and have neon green beams of light shining from it in a rapid manner. Lucy looked down at the ring with a concerned facial expression, hoping that it didn't make her unlock a power surge that would lead to her seeming insane like with the Lightning Magic. Sorano stood by the other Sabertooth mages who attempted to watch the battle from an area behind the main group of winners, and she simply smirked in a somewhat impressed manner as if Lucy fulfilled some kind of important condition for increasing the power of her Wind Magic even further.
By making a tremendous amount of Wind Magic surround herself while utilizing two strengthened spells at the same time, Lucy had pushed the Wind Magic past its usual limit that involved one spell of Wind Magic being used at the beginning before Lucy would move on to the other spells in a somewhat structured manner. Wind itself was more free-flowing, having its currents change in midair while zephyrs could evolve into cyclones, and the fact that Lucy changed up the ways in how she used her spells had been like a strong push in making the Emerald Green Ring go past its alleged limitations.
As Lucy prepared to use Wind Altitude Aerial Burst again, Juvia merely stared at her in an awestruck manner for a few seconds. She thought about how Risa activated Magenta Psychic Glamorous Flames for it to deliberately hit Suzuna's sky blue sphere, intending for the impact to create an explosion that would generate winds, and Lucy used those winds to her advantage in such a tactical manner. Therefore, there was a good reason why the green-haired mage continued working alongside Risa. Even though she looked like Kotomi Takeuchi, this girl fought so much like Lucy Heartfilia.
That inspired Juvia to immediately shift her eyes to the puddle of water that came from Lyon's light green fox melting, and Juvia used it as water for her newest attack known as Water Winter Nebula. She created two waves of turquoise water that rotated around each other, before forming a helix, and Juvia struck Suzuna with the fusion attack. As the turquoise blast occurred, Lyon activated the spell called Ice-Make: Eagles. He shot out several light green eagles that were made of ice, prompting Juvia to grab five of them with her hands. She sent magical power down into her feet, before quickly running towards Suzuna. Since Risa had an idea of what Juvia was about to do, she unleashed the spell called Magenta Psychic Glamorous Flames again. Risa aimed the flames down at the ground behind Juvia, making the icy floor heat up for the temperature to heighten, and the first moments of Lyon's ice eagles melting was the moment where Juvia activated Water Claw. She waited for the turquoise smoke clouds to fade away, before immediately slashing at Suzuna with both of her hands to strike her with powerful torrents of turquoise water. The water engulfed Suzuna, before leaving aggressive slash marks on her body, and she was sent flying backwards to crash into the wall of ice behind her.
"Juvia and Lyon-sama... have landed the finishing blow." Juvia stated aloud with a slightly exhausted look on her face, before panting a bit.
Jenny asked in a calm manner, trying to wipe dust off of her ruined dress and charred skin, "Is it over?"
Suzuna stated aggressively in Yukishimou's voice, slowly emerging from the smoke clouds with a malicious smile on her face, "You horrible little children. Allow me to show you my true form."
Before Juvia could stop herself from being sent flying backwards towards Lucy, she was swept off her feet by an aura spiraling around Suzuna in multiple hues of blue. The aura created icy winds that began to freeze Juvia's feet, before she was pushed away by the surge of power that came from within the aura. It shined brightly, cycling through different shades of blue, and Juvia caught a glimpse of Suzuna's new form before hitting the ground. Although, raising her head allowed the water-wielding wizard to see that Yukishimou emerged from the twister of auras as a towering figure.
The aura itself began to cloak her, before it took on the form of her solidified body that was shifting between different shades of blue while Suzuna's body simply levitated as a pupil-less vessel in the middle of Yukishimou's kimono. The icy winds that blew through the cavern instantaneously froze Risa's flames in ocean blue ice, the temperature making everyone except Juvia, Lyon, Jenny, Emiria, and Hiyasu feel very cold. That didn't stop Lucy from running across the ice with a fierce look on her face, and she fired the Wind Altitude Aerial Burst spell at point-blank range.
She watched the large beam of wind in a neon green color be fired from the fanged mouth, seeing it create a massive blast that made heavy winds occur, but the smoke quickly faded away to reveal that the attack didn't even slightly damage Yukishimou. The coldhearted goddess aimed her eyes down at Lucy, who simply jumped up high and struck her in the face with a neon green aura surrounding her left fist at the same time where she activated Zephyr Punch. Lucy used the spell three more times on her right fist, only for her extremely strong punch to create heavy winds from the impact without damaging the goddess.
"In this form, your attacks are like those of a mere child attempting to attack me..." Yukishimou stated in a dark tone of voice, sounding arrogant and haunting at the same time.
Lucy responded with a brave look on her face, sounding determined to win, "That isn't true, and we'll defeat you!"
"Oh, so you wish to be the first one to die... That request shall be granted..." Yukishimou replied maliciously, before frowning in a vicious manner as she aimed her hands down at Lucy.
Despite activating Kaze's Feather Dance to quickly move backwards, Lucy wasn't fast enough to evade Yukishimou using a spell called Winter Goddess Blitz. The glacier blue aura around her body went into her right hand, before emerging in the form of a cyclone made from glacier blue snow flurries. The attack rammed into Lucy, creating a glacier blue blast, and she screamed in agonizing pain as the attack made ice burns be on her entire body. Lucy felt pained to where she had no time to counter Yukishimou's next attack, which was called Winter Goddess' Ice Wave.
Yukishimou made waves of ice rise up from the frozen floor, making them appear right in front of Lucy as close-range attacks, and the waves of ice struck her from all directions to make ocean blue blasts occur! Lucy continued to scream in pain, before the blasts sent her flying into the air. Risa quickly used Stellar Psi to slowly levitate Lucy down to the ground, and she hastily faced Yukishimou. Risa unleashed her attack called Psychic Slicing Cosmic Wave, and she fired a dark magenta crescent-shaped wave of energy from her hands. It struck the goddess, creating several black shadows that spread outward. As Risa quickly formulated a plan, she was interrupted by Yukishimou using a spell called Water Goddess' Waterwheel.
Yukishimou created four cerulean blue discs in her right hand while simultaneously activating a spell known as Water God's Aquatic Charge, and Yukishimou made a sapphire aura surround herself as she experienced an increasing surge in power. This spell worked in conjunction with the first spell, which involved Yukishimou throwing all the discs down at Risa. She quickly stepped back to avoid the discs that rotated in midair to resemble a waterwheel, only to be struck by blades of sapphire blue water that were splashing out from the projectiles! Risa was caught in the sapphire blue blasts, before Lyon and Jenny were hit by the splashing water, and the powerful blasts that occurred caused everyone to let out screams of excruciating pain.
They were sent crashing into an icy wall, all three mages being badly injured from Yukishimou's attack. Risa pushed herself to stand back up, only to see the goddess shift her focus back to Lucy. Lucy was currently using all of her strength to just stand, feeling exhausted as she looked at Yukishimou. The icy goddess activated a spell called Ice Goddess' Frigid Fury, and this spell involved Yukishimou firing an ocean blue sphere of Ice Magic from her left hand. She exhaled a large breath of icy air that was in a cerulean blue color, pushing the sphere flying through the air for it to be above Lucy's head, and the sphere ended up bursting to shoot out several spikes of ice. The spikes all fell down towards Lucy in a spiraling formation that resembled aurora lights, and the high amount of frost and coldness caused them to be engulfed in a light blue aura as they grew larger. Lucy nearly screamed in pain, looking worried as she would probably be killed by this attack. However, Lucy was quickly tackled down to the ground by Juvia while the blue-eyed mage activated Water Body to let herself be the person who was hit by the spell.
Lucy shouted with a worried look on her face, sounding extremely concerned as she saw Juvia get impaled by the icy spikes, "JUVIA!"
The sight of Lucy's hands going towards some of the icy spikes that hit Juvia's wrists only made the Fairy Tail mage reply in a pained manner, before frowning sternly and slapping Lucy's hands away, "Juvia... does not want... you to get hurt, Lucy. Juvia knows... that it is you, and Juvia assumes the ice will explode... if you touch it."
That only prompted Lucy to say with a frustrated look on her face, tears forming her eyes as Juvia began to cough up blood, "Juvia, that doesn't mean you had to jump in the way and save me! You're a kind friend who I cherish, and I didn't ask you to die for me!"
Juvia glanced down to see that the ice had even stabbed her through the chest, feeling her body get weaker as she spoke to Lucy, "It truly... is you. Lucy, you were... always so.. kind to Juvia. Even when... Juvia was mean... to you, you still... fought for her... sake. Juvia... is so sorry... for not believing... you earlier."
As Juvia coughed up more blood from some wounds that weren't fully covered, Lucy told her in an alarmed manner, "Juvia, don't die on me! Don't die here! We're all going to leave Seigan Town!"
After falling down and letting Lucy roll her over on to her back, Juvia looked up at her crying friend to confidently tell her, "Juvia can... feel that her... life is ending. Lucy, you... cannot die.. in this place. You must.. defeat.. the goddess. Juvia believes... in you."
Juvia's words only caused Lucy to shout with denial in her voice, as she still cried and felt exhausted, "Juvia, you're wrong! I don't have any spells of Wind Magic that can beat someone so durable! Even with my current level of power, the Emerald Green Ring probably won't give me anymore strength!"
Juvia gently and weakly put one hand on Lucy's face, before speaking softly and slightly wiping away the tears that streamed down her face, "Emerald... green... and.. neon.. green. So.. many.. different.. shades.. of.. green.. are.. at.. your.. command, Lucy. Just.. like.. the... green... meadow.. that.. Juvia.. will.. soon see."
Lucy told Juvia in a distraught manner, looking down at her friend who was also crying, "Juvia, the worst part of you telling me that you're dying is that you won't even get to see me get all the rings and get back in my own body!"
"Juvia.. will.. watch.. over.. you.. from.. wherever.. she.. is, Lucy. Light.. and.. greenness.. are.. there. Lucy, good..bye. You.. were... a.. good.. friend." Juvia softly whispered in a pained manner, softly smiling before coughing up blood while feeling that her spirit would go to heaven.
As Juvia felt her eyes slowly starting to close, she looked at Lucy's saddened face. She watched her hand slowly fall to the ground, feeling her body get much weaker from blood loss, and Juvia's vision began to fade away. She kept her eyes open long enough for one last time to just let her mind envision Lucy with her actual face, seeing her blonde hair and cocoa brown eyes as the tears continued to fall. Lucy remained saddened, kneeling in front of Juvia while not touching the ice shards, and gently putting her head near Juvia's chest allowed Lucy to hear her faint and slow heartbeat come to a halt of being silent. Juvia was now dead, having died with a soft smile on her face.
That only made Yukishimou smile in a vicious manner while the other winners were crying over the death of Juvia, and that only made the goddess activate the spell called Ice Goddess' Frigid Fury again. She aimed her left hand directly at Lucy, creating a sapphire blue sphere of ice that would be fired at her. However, Yukishimou was interrupted by the sudden sight of Kusabue crying just as much as everyone while she ran towards the goddess at high speeds. Kusabue jumped upward, prompting the goddess to aim the spell at her, but Kusabue activated the spell called Resounding Vibration Bomb. She loudly clapped her hands five times with a shamrock green aura engulfing her hands for her to create shamrock green sound waves, and they struck Yukishimou's attack. The sound waves went through the attack, as well as Yukishimou's body, and she was as surprised as everyone else to see the sphere of icy spikes breaking apart.
Kusabue used this opportunity to use a spell called Musical Cannon Shot, and she absorbed the sounds of the spikes shattering before angrily singing the eight notes of a musical scale. That resulted in Kusabue firing a large beam of Sound Magic from her mouth. The shamrock green beam had several light green musical notes appearing within it, and the beam created an average-sized explosion in a shamrock shade of green. The musical notes themselves exploded in that same color, doing a minor amount of damage to Yukishimou, but Kusabue grabbed the last musical note to throw it at Yukishimou's face. The explosions resulted in a high-pitched sound occurring, its frequency seemed much louder to Yukishimou than everyone else covering their ears, and the brief moment of Yukishimou closing her eyes was the moment that Kusabue gathered up several of the icy spike fragments to carry them in her hands while sending her magic's aura down into them..
"How is it that you can hurt me?!" Yukishimou asked aloud in an enraged manner, as the shield from earlier started to break.
Lyon and Risa thought to themselves in a manner of realization, both of them looking a bit impressed, "Even if you wield Water Magic as one half of your arsenal, sound waves are much louder when transmitted through water!"
Kusabue told Lyon in an urgent manner, as she ran up to him with the fragments of ice, "Lyon-sama, please make some animals out of all my ice and aim them at Kotomi-san's Emerald Green Ring!"
"Ice-Make: Dragonfly!" Lyon fiercely shouted, looking stern as he aimed his hands down at the ice shards before making his right hand face Lucy.
Lucy closed her eyes in a somewhat fearful manner, thinking that the cold temperature made Kusabue become more deranged than when she would be in a drunken state. Kusabue glanced at Lucy, before seeing that the fast-moving dragonflies were alternating between the colors of emerald green, shamrock green, and light green. They all struck the gemstone of the Emerald Green Ring, creating blasts that shifted between the three aforementioned shades of green, and the extreme amount of wind around Lucy's body began to make the ring shine in multiple shades of green.
The wind was also being absorbed by the ring, before forming a cyclone around Lucy's body, and the intense amount of air pressure engulfed her. She briefly screamed in pain from being carried into the air while still in the cyclone, spinning around at rapid speeds, and the heavy amount of winds caused Lucy's Emerald Green Ring to have beams of light in multiple shades of green emanate from it. The lights cycled through the various shades of green that corresponded with the aura that began to surround Lucy, and widening her eyes for a few seconds caused Lucy to see spells of Wind Magic in several hues of green hastily appearing in images that quickly appeared in her mind at the speeds of flashing lights.
Lucy closed her eyes for a moment, missing the chance to see the large cyclone go into the ring while she slowly floated down the ground. The winds started clearing up for everyone to see that the ring was still having its beams of light shine in different shades of green, and the gleaming ring was currently shifting from being Kelly green, neon green, basil green, and it soon became emerald green. Lucy's hair, eye color, and the aura surrounding her body dynamically changed in the same sequence as those shades of green.
Upon seeing Lucy start to have a gleeful smile on her face while her wounds fully healed, Yukishimou asked with an astounded look on her face, "What?! How is this happening?!"
Another girl's voice replied gleefully from within Lucy's body, seeming to have taken over as she began to joyfully smile at the situation before laughing, "Yukishimou, what a fun day to play! Play with Kaze Harikēn, goddess of Wind Magic! Play with Kaze's green hurricanes! Ha ha ha ha ha!"
Yukishimou angrily asked, having ferocity in her eyes as she built up magical power for her next spell, "That voice...?! Kaze, you dare trespass on Seigan's sacred ground to help that mage?!"
From hearing Kaze only respond with laughter as she covered her eyes with one hand, Yukishimou activated a spell called Ice Goddess' Hailstorm Avalanche. Yukishimou aggressively slammed her hands together while the navy blue aura engulfed her body, and it became celestial blue right before she fired several projectiles at Kaze. That only caused Kaze to continue laughing gleefully, and she activated a spell called Kaze's Kelly Hurricane. As the aura around her body shifted from forest green to now be Kelly green, Kaze rapidly spun around on one foot at extremely high speeds. She playfully giggled, sending out five large Kelly green cyclones that spun counterclockwise, and Kaze made her cyclones haphazardly move around the cavern. They surprisingly bounced off of the pressurized walls of air that they were creating, resulting in them quickly bouncing with rapid levels of speed, and the cyclones were hit by the large chunks of hail!
Those pieces of hail were converted to be Kelly green while air rotated around them, and Kaze pushed her hands forward for the hail to be sent back towards Yukishimou! The ice goddess was bombarded by the hail and the pressurized air, making her be caught in Kelly green blasts that were enormous, and Kaze joyfully giggled as she pushed her hands forward while making her arms move as if they were bouncing. That made the cyclones hastily bounce towards Yukishimou, moving at rapid speeds to where counterattacking was impossible, and five more explosions occurred!
As the Kelly green explosions occurred and Yukishimou screamed in pain, the antagonist refused to give up. She made the aura change to being dark blue, before activating a spell called Water Goddess' Aqua Vortex, and Yukishimou fired a giant vortex of dark blue water from her left hand. That only made Kaze continue to laugh, and she unleashed a spell called Kaze's Candied Feathers. Kaze shot out a large feather duster from her right hand, the feathers shifting from being light green to pale green, and they became neon green at the last second when Kaze picked up the feather duster to rotate it downward at the pressurized air in a rapid spinning motion as if she was using an eggbeater to get a spiraled mixture of green taffy.
"Hooray, Yukishimou wants to play! Well, let's have fun with the game of destroying that spell!" Kaze happily stated, before giving the feathers a type of candied coating by making the air pressure be intense enough to thickly coat them.
Upon seeing Kaze wave the feather duster towards the spell for a massive pale green air stream to head straight towards the vortex, Yukishimou stated with a startled facial expression, "That can't possibly be strong enough to obliterate my spell!"
"Yay, I win the game of slicing it up! Play, play, play! Play with Kaze!" The goddess of wind gleefully responded, giggling as she saw Yukishimou's spell get chopped into small waves of water by the air slicing against it and turning the waves pale green.
The current situation made Yukishimou narrow her eyes in a manner expressing rage, hating that Kaze wasn't taking her seriously, and she fired a cerulean blue tsunami from her left hand. The spell was called Water Goddess' Surf, and Yukishimou put a high amount of magical power into the spell. That didn't stop Kaze from intercepting it by activating a spell called Kaze's Corkscrew Tornado. Kaze joyfully jumped up into the air, before shooting out a shamrock green spring that shifted to being basil green. The basil green corkscrew appeared sideways in midair, but that didn't stop Kaze from jumping up to happily push her hands against it. She pushed the corkscrew all the way down to the drill, causing it to aggressively send her spinning backwards like a drill while the corkscrew itself spun forward. The corkscrew oddly stopped at the wall of air in front of it, spinning in place to make the heavy winds in front of it spin in a violent manner.
When the tidal wave got close to the drill, it was immediately repelled by the heavy winds. The winds that were generated by the corkscrew ended up becoming basil green, and they made contact with Yukishimou's attack to make the water become basil green, and the tidal wave began to transform into a wave of wind. Kaze happily moved her hands around in a circle while looking at the wave, which made her send it back to Yukishimou in the form of a vortex! Yukishimou was hit by the attack, which created a massive blast in a basil hue of green, and the basil green winds blew through the air.
They made contact with the water from Yukishimou's vortex, turning those small waves of water into basil green waves of air, and Kaze made them become neon green. That only made Yukishimou feel angered enough to unleash a spell called Water Goddess' Storm Spout. Yukishimou unleashed a massive cobalt blue cloud of water from her mouth, seeing it turn celestial blue, and she tightly squeezed the cloud in her right hand for it to release a shimmering celestial blue beam of Water Magic, The spell was surrounded by six rhombus-shaped shards of diamond dust, and they were in a Tiffany shade of blue.
"This fight will end now! You will all die in the frigid coldness, courtesy of me!" Yukishimou yelled with an angry facial expression, her eyes displaying distaste at her spells being countered.
That only prompted Kaze to loudly and cheerfully reply while her hair and eyes shifted through different shades of green, "Kaze's Happy Green Hurricane!"
Risa thought to herself in a startled manner, looking astounded at the situation, "It may be a weird theory, but I think Kusabue and Lyon overloaded the Emerald Green Ring with the colors of their magic. Combining that with Lucy's emotions and previously evolving spells... it's like she recently got possessed and awakened the full power of that ring!"
Risa watched Kaze shoot out a large ring from her mouth, the ring being emerald green for a few seconds before it became pear green, and Kaze jumped into the center of it. She playfully sprang up high into the air, before coming down to bounce again, and Kaze quickly repeated this process several times. She was creating pressurized air that ended up coming down more harshly than the amount of air that flew upward, and Kaze happily exhaled air down at the ring for five large twisters of air to form inside of it. The twisters appeared to be pear green, before changing to be jungle green, and they shifted to being matcha green. The ring followed that sequence of green hues, and Kaze started to fly in midair with a smaller twister of winds surrounding her body.
She still bounced downward, generating more air, and the intense amount of air pressure made the ring and its cyclones spring upward into the air. They bounced up to a high altitude, before the twisters fused together to create a gigantic tornado that resembled a hurricane, and the large ring surrounded the middle portion of this attack. Kaze continued laughing while seeing her attack go up towards the beam, and she cheerfully watched the winds make contact with Yukishimou's attack. The icy goddess widened her eyes in disbelief from seeing her water become matcha green, along with the diamond dust that also touched the hurricane's sharp blades of wind, and that only made Kaze's attack violently burst. It became several smaller matcha green rings that attracted Yukishimou's attack, splitting up its power and dividing it to where the beams in the rings slightly resembled Windy Sky Tower, but all of the air from Kaze's attack went into each ring. The beams became slightly less imposing than the hurricane as they grew in size, but changing their element to wind only made Kaze look happier.
The feeling of delight was in her eyes as she thrusted her arms forward, making the smaller hurricanes aggressively bounce off of the air itself at high speeds, and they all attacked Yukishimou! She was engulfed in several matcha green blasts that were enormous, screaming in pain as she couldn't absorb them, and the giant waves of air even struck her cloud. The high amount of air pressure was dense enough to make the cloud become matcha green, before it shifted to being celestial green, and the dense winds engulfed the cloud while making it come crashing down upon Yukishimou. She was engulfed in a celestial green hurricane that had been massive enough to make the cavern's ice be in that same color, including her pedestal, and the ice goddess took an immense amount of damage from the hurricane busting in a celestial green explosion.
As the green clouds of smoke began to fade away, Yukishimou stated in between breaths with an exhausted look on her face, "It can't.. end with... a resurrected goddess... going into a ring... that would be... worn by some mage."
"Kaze is feeling good! The more Kaze plays, the more energetic Kaze feels!" Kaze stated joyfully, still spinning around and giggling in a carefree manner as she was in her cyclone.
Kaze added in a hyperactive manner, before laughing as she was seeming extremely eager to playfully use her next attack, "Yukishimou, we are ready to play! Play with Kaze! Play with Kaze's Storm Tornado Slam!"
Kaze began to stretch her arms out from side to side while happily laughing, and she kept being cheerful with her palms aiming down at the neon green waves. That caused all of the waves of wind to come together in a circle, before the circle of winds swirled around in a clockwise direction, and the winds rotated at high speeds to where they had the intensity of a tornado. Kaze looked down at the winds while laughing, and she raised her hands above her head. That caused the circle of winds to quickly rise up from the ground, and they went high into the air. The circle of high-speed waves almost resembled a crown above Kaze's head, and Kaze happily inhaled the cyclone's winds for the opportunity to apply Wind Magic to her feet. She jumped upward off of the air itself to aggressively slam her palms against the ring, and Kaze happily laughed at the pressurized air surrounding it.
She watched the attack head towards Yukishimou, who felt as if she had nothing in her arsenal that could prevent this level of Wind Magic from destroying her attacks. Not only was Kaze strong, but her constant laughter and feelings of playfulness highlighted the immense amount of emotion that she was putting into her spells. That high level of emotion was in Kaze's Storm Tornado Slam, which struck Yukishimou directly to create a neon green blast that was massive while the heavy winds formed a massive tornado around the ice goddess, and the air pressure in this attack was powerful enough to crush the aura around the ice goddess. She felt herself being weighed down even more than when she was hit by the previous barrage of attacks, and Yukishimou let out one last scream of excruciating pain. The goddess of water and ice began to feel herself get sent into her blue ring, leaving behind thick clouds that were in multiple shades of blue while they surrounded the body of Suzuna, and the blue clouds amassing around Suzuna made her gently float down to the ground.
Kaze also floated down the ground, inhaling a high amount of wind before laughing in an ecstatic manner. She happily smiled at her victory, seeing that Yukishimou was sealed within the ring on Suzuna's right hand. The sight of Suzuna being the owner of that ring without an excessive amount of power made Kaze remember that she would soon be sealed back into the Emerald Green Ring, due to the overload of Wind Magic feeling like it was simmering down, and having a brief vision of Lucy not getting the chance to use her strongest spell against Emiria prompted Kaze to slowly move her left foot backwards. She got into a combat stance, before shooting out a celestial green sphere from her mouth. The sphere was small, and it was surrounded by six tornadoes that repeatedly sprang up and down as they encircled the main projectile. As Kaze noticed that her aura was in the process of shifting between being emerald green and being light green, she chuckled with a smile on her face.
"Lucy, it's up to you now! I've seen what you're capable of, so laugh as you solve the tornado puzzle! Don't blow this chance to win, even if you play with the puzzle's pieces by blowing air!" Kaze happily stated with confidence in her voice, before joyfully laughing as her aura went back into the Emerald Green Ring.
After Lucy's hair became light green and her eyes became orange, she asked with a confused and curious facial expression, "What happened to the green auras that obscured my vision? How did I get back here? What was all that laughter? Where did Yukishimou go?"
Risa responded to Lucy in a somewhat snarky manner, seeing Suzuna slowly stand up, "You know, it would probably be better for you to focus on taking down Suzuna right now and we'll answer your questions later."
Upon seeing Suzuna be back on both of her feet while Juvia was still dead on the cavern's floor, Lucy narrowed her eyes and sternly replied, "Suzuna will pay dearly for killing my friend."
Suzuna immediately looked at Lucy with a glare of blatant anger on her face, distaste in her eyes for how Lucy stopped her from using Yukishimou to make the entire town of Seigan be frozen in ice, and no longer having such godly power made Suzuna feel that she had to alter her plans by using her own attacks at maximum power. She unleashed a spell called Water God's Seafloor Burst, and the spell caused Suzuna to jump up high before firing dark blue spheres of water from her mouth. The water was fired in a way where Suzuna's mouth was like a turret gun, simultaneously firing six bullets that were in six areas of a circle.
Lucy merely frowned with fury in her eyes at Juvia's death, making the neon green aura engulf her feet for her to evade the attacks by sliding across the ground at high speeds, and she watched the dark blue orbs gain more strength and speed as they fell to the ground. They fell to the ground, before bursting to create tsunamis that moved around in different directions, and Lucy briefly saw the water splash on to the different tornadoes from earlier. The basil green tornado was struck first, causing it to shine with lights of that color emanating from it, but the lights quickly faded when the pear green tornado was splashed by a different tsunami's water.
That made Lucy quickly realize how those spells needed to be activated, and she hastily ran over to the tornadoes. She punched the basil green tornado while simultaneously activating Kaze's Windy Spring Hurricane, and Lucy made a spiraling mass of emerald green feathers form on the center of her left fist. The feathers faded away to leaving behind a spiraling neon green aura that became basil green, and the Wind Magic expanded outward for the air to solidify the spell. Lucy slammed the spell down on the juniper green tornado, before pressing the spring down on the one that was in a pine hue of green. That was followed by Lucy hitting the pear green tornado with her spring, and she proceeded to immediately punch down on the Kelly green tornado. Finally, Lucy punched down on the neon green tornado. That caused all of the tornadoes to brightly emit light in their respective colors, and the celestial green orb began to shine with the highest amount of brightness.
Suzuna wasted no time with covering her eyes with her left arm, trying not to let the brightness obscure her vision. However, that prevented her from seeing that Lucy's spring-like attack was pushed down into the final tornado to the point where the high amount of tension to pushed her off of the ground. Lucy was sent flying high into the air, spinning around at rapid speeds while the attack remained in her hand this time, and the coil spring of winds dynamically cycled through the colors of wind that it had touched. That prompted Lucy to activate the spell called Wind Altitude Aerial Burst, and she quickly formed winds in her hands. She swung the attack down at Suzuna, before the air pressure sent her bouncing off of the air. Lucy watched the attack bounce off of the air itself several times, as it unintentionally had Kaze's Windy Spring Hurricane infused into it, and the beam of wind ricocheted off of air near the ceiling to come down on Suzuna.
"Kaze's Neon Basil Green Wind Altitude Hurricane Bounce!" Lucy fiercely stated aloud, naming the fusion spell in an improvised manner as it created a massive blast in a mix between neon green and basil green.
Jenny shouted in a worried manner, joining Risa and Lyon in dodging the tsunamis that were sent towards them by the curving winds of air, "Whoa! If you're bouncing around in the air so quickly, control it to where my hair won't get wet!"
Hiyasu surprised everyone by sternly stating to Suzuna, "Whether you want power or not, this is the last day of the Grand Reverie Icy Frigid Tour! This is my last day as hostess, so allow me to do my job!"
She wasted no time with sending her Water Magic down into the sea-like field that Suzuna's opponents were standing in, and that allowed Hiyasu to take control of the tsunamis. She made them all crash into each other, resulting in dark blue blasts that were large, and the roaring sea in the cavern generated heavy winds. Lucy took that opportunity to inhale the air, before activating Zephyr Punch. She made an emerald green aura engulf her right fist, before hearing the winds of the juniper green tornado aggressively howl, and Lucy felt like she was being instructed to use that color of Wind Magic. She grabbed some excesses of winds from the tornado with her left hand, before coating them on her right hand, and Lucy ran towards Suzuna.
The neon green smoke cleared up just enough for Suzuna to see Lucy preparing to hit her, prompting Suzuna to activate a spell called Water God's Ocean Pressure. That spell simply allowed Suzuna to make a dark blue aura heavily engulf her left fist, before the water on the field went into it for six dark blue bubbles to appear around her fist. She attempted to strike Lucy first, only for Lucy's fist to collide with hers, and a juniper green burst of heavy wind occurred! It sent Suzuna flying backwards, before making the air around her explode in that same color.
Suzuna slowly stood up in the juniper green smoke, before using a spell called Water God's Blue Lillies. The spell involved Suzuna slamming her right palm down on her left palm, before lifting her right palm that faintly had a dark blue aura surrounding it. The aura left behind a dark blue bubble that ended up bursting to create several projectiles of water that were all aimed at Lucy, and the projectiles were coated in blue diamond dust to resemble a water lily blooming. That only caused Lucy to quickly jump backwards towards the tornadoes, letting the pine green projectile briefly touch her right hand, and seeing its aura made Lucy quickly inhale a huge amount of its Wind Magic for a moment.
"You can't beat me, Kotomi Takeuchi! Since I wasn't officially part of the Grand Reverie Icy Frigid Tour, I'm free to use moves like this one that the Magic Council deems to be illegal in tournaments!" Suzuna stated arrogantly, smirking as she saw her attacks heading towards Lucy.
That only caused Lucy to reply in a confident manner, before feeling like she had to hold her breath with her face suddenly turning pine green, "Aero Wind Pine Shield, I call upon thee to-"
"What?!" Suzuna asked in a startled tone, looking stunned at the sight of Lucy exhaling a pine green mass of Wind Magic for it to form a wall of air in front of her.
The wall of air stood in front of Lucy, simply letting itself be hit by all of Suzuna's projectiles for dark blue explosions to occur, and the large amount of wind from the impacts began to create pine green tornadoes around Lucy's body. They were smaller than the original one, being blown back by the winds, but the pine green projectiles began to absorb them before quickly traveling on the air currents at high speeds! They rapidly spun while going back to Suzuna, who was struck by them, and the attacks created a six-layered pine green blast!
Despite her immense amount of durability, Suzuna was still being wounded by Lucy's attacks. She was bruised and bloodied while looking furious at how Lucy was refusing to die, and Suzuna unleashed a spell called Water God's Rolling Wave. She made a dark blue bubble form in between her hands, seeing the water in it began to create a rolling wave, and Suzuna aggressively rolled the attack in between her hands several times. She proceeded to throw it at Lucy, who inhaled a large amount of air from the pear green tornado. That moment of dropping her guard and being engulfed in an aura caused Lucy to get struck in the face by this attack, which ended up bursting to create a rolling tidal wave that spun Lucy around inside of it, and the wave exploded in a dark blue blast when it crashed into one of the cavern's walls!
Suzuna felt arrogant enough to fire that attack again, thinking that her first attack badly wounded Lucy, but the dark blue smoke let her see that the resulting winds triggered the pear green aura of Wind Magic into forming around Lucy. These winds seemed denser than the previous ones, and they had only been powered up by the winds from Suzuna's attack. Lucy simply inhaled more Wind Magic from that specific tornado, and the aura that was pear green grew much larger. Lucy simply glared at Suzuna in a vengeful manner, thinking of Juvia's determination to win, and Lucy activated an interesting variation of a spell.
"Pear Green Rising Winds!" Lucy fiercely shouted, as she slashed the air in a similar manner to Juvia's Water Claw.
Upon seeing the thick pear green waves of wind strike the bubble and carry it upwards, Emiria stated aloud in a pained manner, "Wow. Kotomi's not messing around. Taking on Suzuna like this, regardless of whichever strong form she takes... I'm impressed."
That prompted Lucy to persuasively tell Emiria, thinking about their past feud, "Emiria, it's my responsibility to defend you and fight hard. We had an intense rivalry, and even may still be rivals. However, we were both played for fools. If Suzuna is trying to kill us both, then I guess that means she's our rival and I'll be the one taking her down. After all, the Ice Goddess Slayer just couldn't take down Yukishimou in either of her previous forms."
Suzuna shouted with an aggravated facial expression, seeing her attack be obliterated in a pear green blast that occurred in midair, "Not a bad spell, Kotomi! You've got showmanship as a fighter, I'll admit, but your wind can't save you forever! I'll see that this event ends in my favor, punk!"
As Lucy ran over to the Kelly green tornado and inhaled most of its winds, Suzuna fired a spell called Water God's Aqua Rings. She shot out two dark blue rings from her hands, seeing them constantly flip in midair to overlap each other vertically and horizontally. The presence of these rings allowed a dark blue aura to surround Suzuna, strengthening her durability, but she touched the rings with her hands to transfer the durability to them. The rings were now made out of dense water that would explode when they hit Lucy, causing Suzuna to arrogantly grin.
However, her grin was replaced by the tower of pear green winds spiraling down upon her attack to put more air pressure on it. The rings began heading towards Lucy at a slowed pace, the intensified air pressure pushing the rings down into the water, and Suzuna watched the side effect of the Pear Green Rising Winds spell make Suzuna's attack explode with enough pressure to where the pear green winds carried Lucy high into the air. That allowed her to use a spell called Kaze's Kelly Green Windstorm, and Lucy fired a Kelly green orb from her mouth. It struck Suzuna directly without dealing damage, despite creating a large blast that was Kelly green. but Lucy slammed her hands together as a way to make the curving winds detonate around Suzuna and compress for the blasts to be larger! The blasts spun inward, along with the Wind Magic, and Suzuna received a high amount of damage from the attack.
Since Suzuna was heavily damaged by that spell, Lucy floated through the wind and spun down towards the celestial green projectile that floated in the center of the tornadoes. However, the moment that Lucy touched it was the moment that she briefly foresaw why this shade of green would be important to save. She decided to send her Wind Magic into the attack, seeing the Kelly green aura become celestial green, and the orb rapidly started spinning to the point where it instantly generated high winds. Its winds touched the tornadoes, causing them to float around it in a clockwise manner as they spun at high speeds. The heavy winds carried the attack high into the air, prompting Lucy to jump up very high, and Lucy smiled in an astounded manner at how her body was now as light as when using Kaze's Feather Dance. Lucy thrusted her hands towards the attack multiple times, pushing the air for it to carry the attack towards Suzuna.
"Water God's Bellow!" Suzuna fiercely stated, before shooting out a large stream of water from her mouth.
Emiria shouted in a stern manner, before immediately intercepting the attack, "Ice Goddess' Bellow!"
Emiria fired a large stream of pale blue ice from her mouth, putting enough power into the attack to the point where it was almost evenly matched with Suzuna's beam. Despite trying to infuse more magical power into the attack, Emiria still winced in pain from her earlier wounds that had been bleeding. That only prompted Hiyasu to activate the spell called Azure Aqua Restoration, and she placed her hands on the harshest wounds that seemed to involve Emiria's legs bleeding out. Hiyasu made two blue bubbles emerge from the centers of her palms, and the bubbles created azure blue auras after touching the injuries. Hiyasu healed her sister, allowing her to feel strengthened during this fight.
Hiyasu also used the spell on herself, healing some of her own injuries, and she watched Emiria have enough strength to start overpowering Suzuna's beam. As Hiyasu observed Emiria's eyes from being slightly behind her, seeing the determination and seriousness in them made Hiyasu smile in a proud manner at how Emiria was fighting like a guild master who wanted to didn't want to look bad in front of her subordinates. From Hiyasu's perspective, Emiria's motivation to fight was restored by Lucy's words riling her up earlier. Emiria didn't want to get shown up by her rival, after all.
She managed to completely tear through Suzuna's attack, seeing the Ice God Slayer Magic create a pale blue explosion that surrounded the S-Class mage. As Suzuna let out a scream of pain, Jenny took the opportunity to build up magical power. She made a light blue aura engulf her body, before unleashing a spell called Frost Aura Aurora, and Jenny fired a light blue beam in the form of icy frost at Suzuna. She watched her spell get caught in Emiria's explosion, seeing the light blue blast of Ice Magic have an enhanced amount of power, and Jenny smiled confidently as she faintly noticed her spell's ice making itself and the frost densely surround Suzuna's legs. Jenny attempted to immobilize her by freezing her legs, which would give Lucy the perfect chance to attack.
"This is the best opportunity for you to take down Suzuna, so don't waste it!" Jenny shouted up to Lucy with confidence in her voice while seriousness entered her eyes.
Lucy responded in a stern manner, nodding as she swung her arms downward for the attack to descend in accord, "My Wind Magic will certainly not go to waste! My final spell of Wind Magic, I call upon thee! Kaze's Celestial Green Hurricane of The Windy Emerald Skies!"
She watched the attack fall down directly towards Suzuna, and Lucy got to see the air surrounding her spell. It strengthened the attack, causing all of the tornadoes and the sphere to grow larger, before they grew even more from the speed and power that they were accumulating during the descent, and the celestial green sphere gained absorbed the most winds to gain the highest surge of power. That caused its Wind Magic to become slightly overloaded, however, and that resulted in some celestial green winds splitting off into six different directions to strengthen the tornadoes.
They continued to glow in their respective hues of green, before they all simultaneously alternated to being celestial green, and their moments of shifting to the shade of celestial green only made the cavern's other winds enter the sphere. That only made it shine the brightest out of all the projectiles, nearly blinding everyone's eyes, and the light blue smoke around Suzuna cleared up just enough for her to have a panicked look in her eyes from seeing Lucy's falling spell as she fearfully clenched her teeth. The celestial green sphere struck Suzuna first, creating a massive celestial green blast of Wind Magic that spun outward, and its intense winds made the other tornadoes grow to the point of resembling towers of wind. They rapidly circled around the blast six times, before their last moment of turning celestial green was the moment where they all converged inwards to slam themselves against Suzuna simultaneously! The intense impact created a large maelstrom of celestial green winds that shot upwards through the icy cavern's ceiling, the maelstrom being gigantic for nearly everyone in Seigan Town to see it, and the maelstrom cycled through every shade of green that had been utilized in this battle. The heavy winds came down on Suzuna, before detonating in six massive blasts that displayed their respective shades of green corresponding the tornadoes, and they quickly became celestial green whilst winds in that same color aggressively slashed at Suzuna's body like they were a hurricane's blades of dense air.
After all the light from the blasts faded away, the winds also began to disappear. Lucy gently floated down to the ground, standing in front of Emiria and the other mages who watched the smoke in its varying green hues begin to fade away. The smoke revealed that Suzuna was still standing while being heavily bruised, blooding dripping from many of her wounds, and she simply frowned at Lucy with a dead look in her eyes. That only made Lucy glare at her, but she soon saw Suzuna roughly fall to her knees before her body fell down in front of the pieces of the pedestal that had broken apart. Suzuna was down on the icy floor, her body no longer moving as the water from earlier began to vanish, and she weakly let out a soft groan of excruciating pain. The fact that Suzuna was defeated made Lucy smile while she panted intensely, exhausted from the battle, and Lucy fell to her knees. Lucy's body culdn't move right now, feeling like she didn't even have enough power for her weakest spell of Wind Magic. However, this victory prompted Emiria and Hiyasu to get on the left and right sides of Lucy to help her stand back up on her feet. Since Lucy couldn't raise her arm right now, Emiria decided to also help her out with that.
"I'm in disbelief, but it's truly an amazement! In a long clash of fighters and goddesses in a battle of Wind Magic versus Water Magic, this was a battle that shifted the air back and forth while the seas roared! In the end, the fashionista of green and the woman of wind prevailed! The winner of the Grand Reverie Icy Frigid Tour is... Kotomi Takeuchi!" Emiria loudly and triumphantly announced with a respectful look on her face while feelings of being avenged enter her eyes, yelling loud enough for her voice to echo outward and reach the whole town.
That prompted Kusabue to comically reply as a spectator, being the only person clapping her hands while trying to supress her Sound Magic, "Hooray for Kotomi-chan! That's great!"
"Great... fight, Kotomi. Green-haired... punk.. didn't even... bat an.. eye... when.. a.. goddess got... unsealed, or.. even.. when I... was... using the... power of... the ring." Suzuna stated aloud in a very pained manner, as she could barely move while being severely injured.
Upon hearing Suzuna mention the ring, Emiria walked towards her and stated with a vengeful smile appearing on her face as she closed her eyes, "Thank you for mentioning the ring, Suzuna. The champion of your event needs to be given her prize. Hiyasu and I will give you your consolation prize soon, if you don't die right now."
Suzuna didn't even bother trying to weakly raise her head or pull back her right hand, since Emiria slammed her left foot down on her head whilst applying Ice God Slayer Magic to the bottom of it. Emiria prevented Suzuna from raising her head while she used the fingers of her left hand to remove the ring from Suzuna's right hand, and Emiria now had the ring in her possession. She walked over to Lucy, who was still exhausted, and Emiria congratulated her by putting the blue ring on her right hand.
Lucy softly smiled at that, before falling to her knees, and that prompted Risa to shoot out a magenta beam from her mouth. That beam struck Lucy for a magenta aura to engulf her body, and the Psychic Magic started to heal all of her injuries. That included how her body felt extremely sore from overusing Wind Magic, and Lucy started to feel much better. She still found herself being able to jump high with a lesser amount of strength involved, which meant that Kaze had loosened her muscles up to that extent of making her body be extremely light.
Lightness also applied to the icy cavern's back wall, which had several cracks in it from all of the explosions and blasts that occurred around that specific area. Sting and Rogue both widened their eyes in curiosity from seeing the wall start to crumble, its weakest parts falling down to the floor. The broken wall revealed that there was a light blue tiled floor behind the wall, almost like another room that had the icy walls of the cavern surrounding it, and there were several treasure chests within the room. They were in varying shades of blue, along with some jugs that were in different hues of blue while they were situated on upper stair steps that led to a circular and large sky blue pedestal that had an azure blue treasure chest situated on it.
"Wow, that's a large trove of treasure that we could have!" Sting stated with a confident and optimistic smile on his face, thinking that Sabertooth deserved it the most.
That caused Lyon to comment in an arrogant manner, smiling as he walked past Lucy, "Actually, that treasure should probably go to Lamia Scale. After all, Lucy wouldn't have overloaded the Wind Magic with just Kusabue's magic not being assisted by me."
"Since my tune from the Frost Flute unsealed those treasures, they should all go to Cerulean Frost. Also, that whole battle started as Suzuna attacking Hiyasu and myself. You, Kotomi, Risa, Juvia, Jenny, and that little green-haired girl were just our backup." Emiria sternly argued to Lyon, narrowing her eyes as she went close to the trove of treasure.
That prompted Jenny to comment with a confident facial expression, as she assessed the situation, "To be fair, Kotomi wouldn't have been able to hit Suzuna if I didn't freeze her feet."
"Hold on, Jenny. If we've been saying Kotomi, why did Lyon just call her Lucy?" Emiria asked in a curious manner, widening her eyes at the odd name for Kotomi in Lyon's sentence.
As Lucy sheepishly laughed and proceeded to explain the situation from the beginning, Hiyasu turned around for a moment to see Kusabue looking a bit disappointed as she muttered words about the argument regarding who should receive the treasures. Kusabue may not have been an official participant like Lucy or Juvia, but the young girl would probably want to argue that Sabertooth deserved the treasures because of the fact that her Sound Magic was the only type of power that had been capable of breaking through Yukishimou's invincible form. Going by that logic, Kusabue created a way for Kaze to attack Yukishimou.
Since Hiyasu herself had witnessed the battle, she wouldn't argue against Kusabue's logic of Sabertooth deserving the most treasure. Although, the sight of the shamrock green aura still intensely engulfing the young girl caused Hiyasu to notice that Kusabue was still increasing the power of her Sound Magic by absorbing all of the sounds that were within range of her ears picking up on frequencies. In contrast, Hiyasu turned to Risa for a moment to see the dark magenta aura fading from being around her body while her hair became light pink.
Rogue quickly went over to Risa, wanting to make sure that she was okay. Risa simply smiled at him in a happy manner, glad that this adventure helped them uncover troves of treasure and the sixth legendary ring. Risa looked at Lucy, who was now being hugged by Sting as they both glanced at Juvia still being dead. Lucy hugged back in a bittersweet manner, feeling glad that this harsh event had the upside of finally being over. As Risa and Rogue looked away from them for a moment, both of the mages noticed that the cavern's brightened entrance allowed them to see the shadow of a certain Eastern-looking woman retreating. Rogue stepped away from Risa for a moment, sniffing the air to confirm his thoughts, and an unfamiliar fragrance of perfume was mixed in with a scent that he strongly recognized. Even though Risa didn't recognize the scent, she quickly walked towards the shadow just to see the back of Minerva's head as she ran away.
"Isn't that one of the women who wasn't chosen?" Risa asked aloud with curiosity in her eyes, as her words also got Hiyasu's attention.
Rogue stated aloud with a surprised look on his face, his eyes expressing disbelief, "That was... Milady. I mean, Minerva. That was... Minerva. We all thought she disappeared that day, but..."
Remembering that Minerva was one of the invited mages for this event caused Hiyasu to motion for Kusabue and the other Sabertooth mages to leave, as she assumed that a mage who wasn't selected as a winner would try to steal some of the treasures when everyone was distracted. She wasted no time with running up to Emiria, who had also seen Minerva retreating, and the hostesses kindly pulled Sting and Rogue away from their girlfriends for the remaining mages who were the alive candidates in the event to select all of the prizes that they wanted to take back to their guilds.
One hour later, in Seigan Town...
After all of the winners brought out their treasure chests and ceramic jugs that contained items such as jewels and weapons that could be sold for profits, they were met with the sight of Seigan Town becoming unfrozen. Yukishimou's Ice God Magic had created winds that froze the people and buildings of Seigan, along with the waves of energy from Water God Magic making the water in the theme park grow out of control to where some areas became flooded. However, mages such as Samui and Aoiumi were absorbing the Ice Magic and Water Magic that managed to freeze or drown some of the citizens and slaves who weren't taken care of by the Elite Nobles.
Several citizens such as Kaisui had heard Emiria's announcement regarding the winner of the Grand Reverie Icy Frigid Tour, which made them loudly cheer when they saw Lucy walk out of the cavern with several treasure chests being pushed in front of her. Those lines of treasure chests were comically the most that anyone would want to carry, as going several feet away from the cavern allowed Lucy to see that Risa, Lyon, and Jenny each carried at least six treasure chests. That was followed by the sight of Risa using Stellar Psi to levitate the giant treasure chest out of the cavern, making it go high into the air through the hole in the ceiling, and Risa gently carried it down on to the snow.
She set down her treasure chests near it, signifying that Sabertooth would take back the giant treasure chest. Risa turned to look at Lyon, who set down his treasure chests before he went back into the cavern for a moment. He had gently carried Juvia in a bridal-style manner, having set her down close to the initial pedestal that had been destroyed, and Lyon felt that he would be doing Fairy Tail a favor by carrying Juvia out into a beautiful and snowy town with water in a theme park. From Lyon's perspective, Juvia was like a beautiful goddess who needed to be buried in the most beautiful and peaceful area of Seigan Town.
As Lyon moved some hair out of Juvia's face to see that she still maintained her smile, having passed on to the afterlife in peace, he thought about taking the blue-haired wizard to the ice garden. There were deep parts of it where the plants of Water Magic and Ice Magic, along with the water and ice that had been crafted, would never be disturbed. Letting Juvia rest in a lovely place like that would definitely be a great way for Lyon to display that he viewed Juvia as a queen, since the woman who could manipulate water would be in an area where stagnant ice was surrounded by freely-moving water. Upon seeing him start to walk in that direction where some members of the crowd were located, Emiria and Hiyasu felt that they needed to try and make amends in some way.
"Hiyasu, go after him when he sets Juvia down. Help Lyon soften the ground with your water. If he doesn't want to do it, then I'll come along with my magic to dig the grave." Emiria explained to Hiyasu with a stern facial expression, her eyes displaying some feelings of regret about the event's fourth day.
That prompted Hiyasu to reply in a kind manner, nodding in agreement as she smiled remorsefully at Emiria's right hand, "That sounds like a good plan, Emiria. Although, there's something we almost forgot to give to the champion of the Grand Reverie Icy Frigid Tour."
"Lucy, this Sapphire Blue Ring is rightfully yours. You earned it, and you've seen that the ring allows you to use many kinds of Ice Magic and Water Magic. Congratulations, Sabertooth wizard." Emiria stated in a somewhat nicer tone while handing the light blue ring to Lucy, allowing her to get a good luck at its sapphire gemstone.
Upon receiving the cold Sapphire Blue Ring and adding it to her right hand's ring finger, Lucy stated in a celebratory manner with a delighted smile, "All right, everyone! I finally got my sixth legendary ring, and it's the Sapphire Blue Ring!"
Emiria arrogantly told Lucy with a somewhat rude smirk on her face, realizing the current implicatiions, "Since you'll soon wield some spells of Ice Magic, I'll be expecting you to come back to Seigan for me to win our next battle. You're my strongest rival, Lucy."
Lucy responded kindly, having confidence in her eyes as she stretched out her hand for a handshake, "I'll be sure to come back here for a battle at some point, Emiria. Of course, you'll get defeated after you see the results of my training. When it comes to your skills with ice, you're a very strong rival."
The two girls shared a firm handshake, acknowledging each other as rivals and allies. The fact that Cerulean Frost's guild master was able to befriend one of Sabertooth's strongest mages caused the residents of Seigan Town to cheer, glad that they were able to entrust the town's legendary ring to someone who had been able to defeat Emiria and Suzuna. That didn't stop Hiyasu from walking past Emiria to share a friendly handshake of respect with Risa, who smiled in a happy and friendly manner as she shook hands with the woman who had been a rival to her.
Risa felt glad to acknowledge the strength that Hiyasu possessed with her Water Magic, especially when it came to wielding the Azure Stone. Similarly, Hiyasu maintained confidence and respect in her eyes from how Risa had a high level of power and control when it came to wielding her Psychic Magic. Both girls hoped that they would eventually battle again someday, and they both slightly unleashed the auras of their magic to signify that they would both have a desire to win. As Hiyasu's aura began to fade, she was slightly taken aback by Kusabue's shamrock green aura growing larger as it engulfed her body.
Kusabue was flaunting her skills in a playful manner to Samui and Aoiumi, who were happily listening to the young girl's short story of how she was able to break through the spell known as Water God's Aquatic Charge to eliminate Yukishimou's invincibility, and Kusabue was even cutely mimicking the sound of glass breaking to give Samui and Aoiumi an idea of the moment that her Sound Magic even broke through one of Yukishimou's ice spells. As Kusabue danced around happily and waved her arms around in a celebratory manner, Hiyasu turned around to face Risa with a look of worry forming in her eyes.
"Whether Kusabue looks up to you or Lucy as her mentor, there's something you should keep in mind. Great power is dormant in Kusabue, but unrestrained power can lead to corruption." Hiyasu explained to Risa in a stern manner, her face displaying a mix between seriousness and being deeply concerned.
Risa replied in a calm manner, smiling with a bit of assurance in her eyes, "Don't worry, Hiyasu. Lucy and I are just as powerful as our teammates while we're also good role models, so Kusabue won't ever have a reason to go berserk. Even when she's drunk, Kusabue isn't uncontrollable."
Despite Risa only giving her a small amount of assurance, Hiyasu chose to trust her on that task. Hiyasu did understand that Kusabue wanted to have a high amount of power for the purpose of protecting her friends, so Hiyasu felt that she could at least provide the young girl with a clear example on only using her powers for good purposes. Hiyasu walked past Kusabue to go near two female women who were icy collars to indicate that they were slaves, and Hiyasu made a high amount of Water Magic engulf her hands. She aggressively broke the ice collars with some powerful punches, shattering the ice to where the ticking time bomb wouldn't go off to make the women get frozen.
Kusabue smiled at Hiyasu's power while absorbing the sounds from that situation, and she happily smiled. Emiria also smiled at her sister's strength, feeling glad that she could let her be the co-master in Cerulean Frost, and being the unofficial new mayor meant that Emiria could use her strength to end slavery in Seigan Town. In fact, she planned on talking to the Magic Council about making Cerulean Frost become a legal guild with their own rules while she would need some blue scrolls for writing laws that would make the town a better place.
Emiria looked away from her sister to see that Lucy and Sting shared a small kiss on the lips, before they walked away in a triumphant manner at how the sixth ring had been found. That only prompted Yukino to gently grab Sorano's hand, running after them with Sorano feeling glad that she would get to be in Yukino's guild. Rogue also went back to Sabertooth with Risa by his side, and he carried some of the treasure chests as she gently rested her head on his shoulder. Upon seeing Risa walk behind their friends on a path leading out of Seigan, Kūkiatsu tapped Kusabue on the shoulder and motioned for her to follow everyone else. Kūkiatsu saw Gardenia in the crowd, causing him to politely bow to her as a sign of respect for his fellow researcher before they would go their separate ways. That only prompted Yukino to gently grab Sorano's hand, running after them with Sorano feeling glad that she would get to be in her sister's guild.
How was Chapter 55? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on it. Lucy has now obtained the Sapphire Blue Ring, which means that six legendary rings are now in her possession. That just leaves one ring in Fiore, and Lucy will need it as a way of regaining her original body. Speaking of the rings, Sorano will explain them in one of the upcoming arcs. This will also lead to explaining the goddesses from centuries ago, as well as one surprising reunion for Lucy and Risa encountering someone. Spesking of arcs, this is the twelfth and final chapter of the Azure Ice Arc! The next chapter shall belong to the post-Azure Ice Arc. I'll update soon. :)
