Last time on Sonic the Hedgehog, Eggman's invasion begins as the Kingdom of Snow becomes engulfed in flames and war. Robots and Robians rain from the sky in order to bring the small kingdom to kneel, but of course, Aleena and what little resistance she could muster stood their ground; however, it soon became too much for them. As Aleena and Uncle Chuck were about to meet their end, the Freedom Fighters arrive just in time to save the day. But will they be enough…?

Out on the stormy oceans near Christmas Island, a familiar metal vessel was wrestling with the rough waves that the crew had stumbled upon, leading to a lot of rocking the boat. On the deck, Echo was taking command, trying to instruct the crew to keep the ship from turning over.

Echo: "Come on, everyone! Put your backs into it! Rotor, grab the helm and keep her steady!"

Rotor: "You got it!"

Echo: "I need several hands to start rowing! We need to get out of these rough seas!"

As the ship was facing its troubles, a scouting party of Captain Titania, Princess Undina, and several others of the crew land onto the deck, the captain giving a serious expression.

Echo: "Captain, ma'am! This storm is a hard one! If we don't move we may-"

Titania: "Don't underestimate the Silver Pearl! My mother built this ship to last! Mr. Prawn! Is there any land to dock!?"

Mr. Prawn, who was situated on the crow's nest, looked out to see through his telescope before seeing a biplane and some strange ship go to an island under siege by an even larger, floating vessel. Looking closer at the biplane, a familiar blue hedgehog was riding the wing.

Mr. Prawn: "Cap'n! There be land, madam! But it's under siege by some sort of sky pirates! And who else but the blue hedgehog be headin' there now!"

Titania: "Blue hedgehog…?"

Undina: "Sonic the Hedgehog? Do you think we're near the Kingdom of Snow?"

Titania: "Rotor! New orders! Turn the ship around! We're heading to that island!"

Rotor: "Captain!?"

Echo: "You heard her! If there are people in trouble, we've got to help!"

Titania: "...I may not do well with cold weather… But Captain Titania was raised to never turn a blind eye to trouble!"

Rotor pauses before nodding with a smile, turning the ship towards the island as the waves continue to crash onto it.

In the air leading to Christmas Island, Sonic and his fellow Freedom Fighters rode on their separate air vehicles - for Sonic's team, it was the Tornado, and for Sally's, it was the ship they took from Robotnik Island. Though the hedgehog was worried over his home, he turned to Knuckles with a curious but glad expression.

Sonic: "So are you sure you want to leave Angel Island? We could handle this crisis on our own."

Knuckles: "I may not be one to stick my neck into unnecessary fights - unless it's on my island, of course - but I'd be punching myself if I didn't at least return the favor for last time."

Sonic: "Or did Kicks beat you into coming? Hah! …But for real, Knux. Thanks for lending a hand."

Knuckles ignored that first part, but smiled at the second. He and Kicks were reclusive, but never heartless.

Tails: "We're coming up to Christmas Island, Sonic! Sally? You remember what to do, right?"

Sally: "Secure the evacuation and join the fight on the Egg Carrier. …That is the ship in question, right, Nicole?"

Nicole's voice comes through the comm link of both the ship she's plugged into and the Tornado.

Nicole: "That is correct. A battleship created for the sole purpose of invasion and wanton destruction. Our first priority is to ensure it won't go anywhere beyond where it is now by shutting down its engines. Afterwards, enough force is required to bring the entire thing down."

Tails: "Leave that part to me and Amy. If we can get into the ship's engine room, we can rewire it to explode!"

Amy: "What if there are people inside?"

Sonic: "No sweat. Me and Knuckles have that covered."

Knuckles: "If you're fast enough, speed demon."

Sonic: "I'm more than fast enough."

Sally: "Okay, Freedom Fighters! You have your roles! Team Fighters! We leave the easy part to you!"

Sally jokes, knowing this will be pretty tough, given what they are up against. As they fly over the island, Sally grabs Nicole's computer and pockets her before jumping off with her team.

And thus the story continues, with Sally glaring at the Egg Hammers still standing while the one she knocked down stands back up. Behind her stood Aleena, Uncle Chuck, and a downed Jules.

Sally: "Sonic's not gonna like this… Queen Aleena! Is Mr. Jules…"

Uncle Chuck: "He was shot through the head by Snively… I don't have my equipment to check for his vitals…"

Aleena: "But we can't leave him…"

Sally: "You two get going then. I'll-"

A laser blast destroys Sally's barrier, knocking her onto her back from the force as Snively lands onto the scene.

Snively: "No one is going anywhere! Especially not the queen and princess of two fallen kingdoms. So come quietly, or else…"

Snively orders the Egg Hammers to march at trio. But as they approached, one Egg Hammer suddenly stops, with the others and Snively looking at it confused.

Snively: "Hey! What's going on!? Attack, you fools!"

Voice: "Oh sorry. I think he may be missin' a few gears!"

The Egg Hammer is knocked forward as everyone sees a big gaping hole in its back. A figure then stands on top of it, having pulled out its battery. It was Captain Titania, one of Sonic's allies from Meropis.

Sally: "Who on Mobius…?"

Titania: "Nevermind who I am. I think the better question is why I'm here. And the answer… To squash some bots!"

Titania ignites a watery aura around her as she dashes at the closest Egg Hammer, breaking through its hard armor plating, and using her jaws and webbed-hands to pull out another battery, knocking the Egg Hammer out of commission.

Sally: "Whoa… She's strong…"

Aleena: "I saw her at Meropis… She's an ally, Sally. Which would mean…"

Looking at the town, Aleena saw Titania's pirates help with evacuation, either acting in battle formation or carrying the injured, sick, and young out of harm's way. A nurse shark dressed appropriately like a nurse runs in as she notices an injured hedgehog.

Nurse Shark: "Oi. We need to get this man some medical assistance. Are you a doc, doc?"

Uncle Chuck: "I am, but-"

Nurse Shark: "Then help out instead of runnin' your gums!"

The nurse shark helps Jules up with Uncle Chuck just… going along with what the nurse orders.

Aleena: "If that twerp wants us so bad, then we'll stay and keep you safe. I'll join you as soon as I can, Charles."

With that slight bit of comfort, Chuck simply leaves with his brother, joining the pirates as they escorted who they could away from danger. Snively was about to stop them, but firing as Sally's barriers appeared in front of him in such close proximity caused his own blast to propel him backwards.

Snively: "Grr… This was supposed to be easy! How did you furry idiots even find out about our plan so quickly!?"

Sally: "We have our sources; that's all you'll get out of me!"

Titania grabs one of the Egg Hammer's hammers and swings it at Snively, causing him to jump back in panic.

Titania: "Looks like the tables have turned for ya!"

Snively: "Not quite… I still have my ace."

Snively smiles as he pushes a few buttons on his suit, causing it to glow. As Titania swings her hammer, Snively catches it and breaks it with a punch, the force of the punch sending Titania flying back.

Snively: "Time for MAXIMUM OUTPUT!"

With a sinister laugh, Snively fires a laser into the air, raining down laser shots on the trio of fighters and forcing them to dodge. Sally rushed at Snively with a barrier in front of her, but the barrier is instantly shattered as Snively punches it; he then grabs Sally by the neck and slams her face into the snowy ground.

Snively: "Pathetic! None of you stand a chance against me when my suit is at maximum power!"

Titania: "Me thinks you're just compensating for somethin', little man!"

Titania leaps at Snively, aiming to pin him down. However, the 'little man', slams a fist into the shark's gut, causing her body to vibrate from sheer force she was feeling before she was forced to vomit. But then a grin formed on her face as Aleena was seen floating above, having used her Mystic Melody to ready a large stone slab to drop on the doctor's assistant. Titania grabs Sally as the stone is dropped, narrowly avoiding the impact.

Sally: "Th-Thanks… Are you okay?"

Titania: "Aside from still hearin' ringing in my ear canals, and losing my lunch… Nah, not really…"

But their break is cut short as Snively fires his wrist lasers through the stone slab, breaking it utterly as he stands back up.

Snively: "Didn't you hear me? My suit makes me invincible! You can't hurt me!"

Rotor: "Too bad you didn't take into account us!"

Rotor shouted as he fires off a bazooka, a wall blast of snow knocking Snively off his feet and into a mound of snow, essentially turning him into a snowman. Angered, Snively bursts out of the snow and starts rapid firing at the walrus, forcing him to start running around as he drops his bazooka. Tekno flies down and kicks Snively down from behind, jumping off before he could just burst her off.

Tekno: "What's wrong? Can't hit me, "Mr. Invincible"!?"

Snively: "Quit mocking me! I'll show you… I'll show all of you!"

Snively turns his one wrist laser at Tekno, his shots being divided and unfocused between Rotor and Tekno. From afar, Rosie and Julie stood, their weapons drawn as they targeted the jetpack on Snively's back.

Julie: "You sure this is going to work?"

Rosie: "Nope. This is a leap of faith if I ever did see it."

Julie shrugs before they duo fire, Julie's energy shot going faster as it blasts Snively's jetpack, getting his attention before the follow up arrow hits the opening dead-on. Snively's suit starts to spark as he starts panicking.

Snively: "Oh no no no no! What did you fools do!? My suit…! It's overloading!"

Snively quickly takes off the suit, jumping out of it as he runs and ducks in cover; the suit lets out a big explosion, blinding the heroes briefly as a crater is left in its wake. Snively peaks from behind the cover before letting out a sigh of relief… only to see three women stand in front of him.

Sally: "So…"

Aleena: "Try to destroy my home, will you?"

Titania: "That punch earlier hurt…"

Titania says as she cracks her knuckles.

Snively: "U-Uh… T-Truce…? P-Parlay…? M-M-Mercy…?"

The sounds of someone getting beaten up are heard as Snively cries out for mercy. He's bruised up bad, tied up, and gagged as Rotor grabs his bazooka.

Rotor: "Orders, Cap'n?"

Titania: "Make 'im walk the plank!"

Rotor: "Aye aye!"

Rotor stuffs Snively into the bazooka as the little man panics, trying hard in futility to plead for mercy. Rotor aims the massive weapon he made like a cannon and fired, sending Snively flying into the air and vanishing with a twinkle in the sky.

Sally: "Good riddance."

Aleena: "Sally… Titania… Thank you both for your assistance…"

Sally: "Battle's not over. Team Freedom, we need to make for the Egg Carrier itself and help sink it."

An explosion on the deck of the Egg Carrier is heard, alerting Sally. That didn't sound like a good explosion. In fact, it sounded very bad.

Titania: "Y'all get going. Me and my crew will keep these kingdom folk from gettin' harmed."

Sally: "Thanks, miss… I'm Sally by the way."

Titania: "Captain Titania. I met yer hedgehog friend earlier. Boy's got spirit and charisma."

Sally: "Wait, how do you know that I know Sonic?"

Titania: "You and Queen Aleena being familiar with each other is a safe bet. A good captain watches for all the details, matey."

Sally is left a little stunned as Julie and Tekno giggle. Titania orders for a full retreat to give the heroes room to fight without interruption. With the first part of the fight done, Sally looks on at the Egg Carrier in worry over just what was going on…
