Anderson Cooper, the host of CNN's primetime news program, was beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to interview General Samantha Carter. As he stepped onto the stage, his eyes wandered over the packed auditorium, filled with servicemen and women, detractors and regular citizens. The general, dressed in her blue SGC standard dress uniform, sat nervous being in the spot light, her chin held high.
As Anderson took his seat across from her, he couldn't help but notice the gleam in her eyes and t It was clear that this was no ordinary woman. The anticipation was palpable as the lights dimmed and the audience hushed. Anderson cleared his throat and leaned in, ready to begin what would surely be an unforgettable interview.
"So, General Carter," he began, "it's an honor to have you here today. I understand you've had quite an interesting career thus far."
Samantha nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Thank you, Mr. Cooper. It's an honor to be here."
"please call me Anderson."The general looked him in the eye and said with a hint of humor,
"well, if you insist. But only because you said please." There was a brief pause as the audience laughed.
"So, I read from your file that you blew up a sun, destroying the enemy fleet." Anderson leaned forward, intrigued. "What was that like?"
Carter chuckled, shaking her head. "It was...surreal." Sam said as she continues. "I blew up one sun and people expect me to walk on water."
Anderson laughs along with her, clearly enjoying her light-hearted attitude. "Well, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would disagree with that assessment." He said as he looked through the index cards in his hands, searching for the next question. "Of all the technologies that's procured through the stargate program, what would you say is the most groundbreaking?"
Samantha considered the question for a moment before answering. "That's a tough one. I think it would have to be the food and matter fabricators."
Anderson nodded in agreement. "Can you explain what a food and matter fabricators are?
Carter smiled, "Sure. The food fabricator is a device that can synthesize any type of edible substance from basic ingredients. It's like having a chef in your kitchen, but with more variety and customization. The matter fabricator, on the other hand, can create any solid object you can imagine, using basic elements like carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, and nitrogen. It's like having a 3D printer that can create anything from a spoon to a spaceship."
"So, it's like the replicators on Star Trek?" Anderson asked, clearly fascinated.
Samantha smiled. "Yes, that's what a lot of people compare them to. But our fabricators are even more advanced than anything seen in sci-fi shows. They're not just limited to creating food and inedible objects." Samantha said as she continues. "Food fabricators for civillian use are readily available at no cost, they can pick up their unit at any Tau'ri Federation government facilities."
"What if a person mishandle a food fabricators?" Anderson ask.
Samantha frowned. "Well, there are safety features built into the device to prevent that from happening. For instance, it won't create anything that's harmful or poisonous. But, of course, common sense should always be used when operating any kitchen appliance."
"You have a food fabricator." She asks Anderson.
Anderson glanced at the plate and smiled. "Yes, I do. It's actually a huge help in the kitchen. My husband loves it." He pauses for second. "But cost me $1 to fabricate a meal."
"Well, the revenue goes to run the Tau'ri Federation government, the stargate program and maintain the safety of the galaxy." Samantha replied with a smile. "It's a small price to pay for the convenience and security they provide."
"How about military, medical, civilian and scientist personnel in the Tau'ri Federation and SGC?" Anderson pauses for a moment and continue with the question. "How do they get paid or pay for the meal from the fabricators?"
Samantha chuckled. "That's a good question. The Tau'ri Federation government has a very complex system in place to ensure that everyone is taken care of, regardless of their occupation or rank. Civillian, Military. Scientist, SGC personnel are paid a salary just like any other job, and that includes benefits like access to the food fabricators, Free Healthcare, Free Housing and other amenities. They also have a retirement plan and other perks, but again, it varies depending on their position and years of service."
"It seems that you have a very well thought out system." Anderson nodded appreciatively.
"Well, I help wrote the policy."
That surprises the audiance and Anderson Cooper."So, what's next for you, Samantha?" Anderson asked, changing the subject. "Are you running for Tau'ri Federation President?"
Samantha smiled at the question. "I'm flattered that you think so."
She paused for a moment, considering the question. "Right now, I'm focused on my work at the SGC and the Tau'ri Federation. I believe that there's still much to be done in terms of maintaining the safety and stability of our galaxy. But, who knows? One day, maybe I'll consider running for president. For now, though, I'm content with doing my part for the greater good."
Anderson nodded, clearly impressed by her answer. "That's admirable. So, what do you think are the biggest challenges facing the Tau'ri Federation?"
Samantha took a moment to collect her thoughts before responding. "There are many challenges, of course. One of the biggest is maintaining peace and stability in a galaxy that's constantly evolving. The Tau'ri Federation is a relatively young alliance, and we're still learning how to navigate the complex web of political and cultural relationships that exist out there. We need to continue building trust and cooperation among our member worlds, as well as with other alien races."
"Why is there no freedom of the press in the Tau'ri Federation?" Anderson ask.
"Ah, that's an interesting question." Samantha said with a thoughtful expression. "Well, the media main focus seems to divide the people, categorizing them in a group or side, and creating more chaos. The Tau'ri Federation government want to avoid that at all cost. They want to keep the people informed, but in a way that doesn't cause divisions or unrest. They believe that a free press can sometimes be more of a hindrance than a help, particularly when it comes to matters of Intergalactic Security and diplomacy."
"I don't believe so, give me example."
Samantha considered the question carefully. "Well, for example, if a new world were to join the Tau'ri Federation, the media might focus too much on the differences between that world and the rest of the alliance, creating divisions or mistrust. The government would prefer to present the information in a more balanced and informative way, highlighting the similarities and potential benefits. They believe that this approach helps to build a stronger, more unified society."
"But isn't it the job of the press to question and investigate?" Anderson pressed.
Samantha nodded. "Of course, it is. But the Tau'ri Federation has a well-established system of checks and balances to ensure that information is disseminated responsibly. There are independent oversight bodies and freedom of information laws in place to hold the government accountable. The key difference is that the Tau'ri Federation believes that the media should work in partnership with the government, rather than seeing themselves as adversaries. This collaborative approach has helped to foster a culture of transparency and trust within the alliance."
"But what about the people's right to know?" Anderson asked.
Samantha's expression grew serious. "Of course, the Tau'ri Federation recognizes that citizens have a right to information. That's why they have a comprehensive system in place to ensure that the public is kept informed. It's just that the government believes that the media should be a tool for education and understanding, rather than sensationalism and divisiveness. The Tau'ri Federation is built on the principle of unity, and they believe that a responsible, cooperative press is essential to maintaining that unity. It's not about silencing the people; it's about empowering them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions and contribute to the betterment of their society."
"You know, people on twitter calling you a twat don't really matter, Samantha," Anderson said, trying to lighten the mood. "They're just a bunch of trolls who don't know any better. You're doing great work, and the Tau'ri Federation is lucky to have you."
Samantha smiled warmly at the reporter. "Thank you, Anderson. I appreciate that. It's important to remember that the work we do is often challenging and demanding, and it's easy to get caught up in the negativity. But ultimately, we all have a responsibility to focus on the greater good and to strive for unity in our efforts to protect and serve the galaxy."
"So, moving on to another topic. The Tau'ri Federation Command sent a fleet to the Pegasus Galaxy to establish a base of operation on the planet they named New Atlantis." Anderson said as he continues. "To lead that command is General John Sheppard."
Samantha nodded, her expression turning more serious. "Yes, that's correct."
"My associates been trying to scour his social media, twitter and facebook and so on, but there is none."
"Well, why don't you ask General John Sheppard."
"But we found news broadcast of him but it was scrubbed."
Samantha raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure what you mean by 'scrubbed.' Could you provide more information about this broadcast?"
"It was on one of the local news in D.C. The clip showed General Sheppard with an former FBI agent Seeley Booth and a woman in burgundy pantsuit being surrounded by D.C police before they disappeared in a cloud of smoke, but when we tried to access the full video, it was gone. There was no error message, just a blank screen."
Samantha frowned. "I'm not familiar with this 'Booth' person, but I can look into it. As for the missing broadcast, it's possible that it was classified or restricted for security reasons. The Tau'ri Federation..." Anderson stops her by raising his hand.
"Im not done. It was before the formation of the Tau'ri Federation and the United Earth Alliance." Anderson said. "But sources say that he was President Henry Hayes SOD. Special Operations Division."
Samantha's expression turned grave. "I see."
"What was he doing at Senator Baxter Freedman subdivision?"
Samantha took a deep breath before responding. "Well, from what I can gather, the Special Operations Division was a covert unit tasked with handling sensitive and high-risk situations that fell outside the normal jurisdiction of the government. It's possible that General Sheppard was involved in some sort of investigation or covert operation at the Senator Freedman's subdivision. However, without more information, it's difficult to speculate further."
"What about the woman in burgundy pantsuit? Do you know who she is?"
Samantha pursed her lips thoughtfully. "I'm not certain."
"Our facial recognition program thinks she might be a woman named Temperance Brennan. A forensic anthropologist. But the image is grainy and there are some discrepancies in the analysis." Anderson revealled as a holographic image shows the image of Dr. Temperance Brennan and former FBI agent Seeley Booth.
Samantha studied the image carefully. "Well, it's certainly possible that Dr. Brennan was involved in some capacity. She has extensive experience in her field, and her expertise could have been valuable for the Special Operations Division. As for Agent Booth, he has a long history of working with the FBI and has been known to consult on various cases." Samatha Carter know who Dr. Brennan and Seeley Booth are. Dr. Brennan is a professor of Forensic Anthropology at SGC Academy and Colonel Seeley Booth is currently on assignment commanding the USS Agamemnon.
"Any idea why they would be at Senator Freedman's subdivision?" Anderson asked.
"I can't say for certain," Samantha replied. They were investigating a Wraith feeding that result in the death of Senator Freedman wife. But Samantha couldnt disclose sensitive information to him. "but it's possible that Senator Freedman was involved in some sort of illegal activity or had knowledge of it. The Special Operations Division would have been tasked with investigating and dealing with such situations."
Anderson nodded. "So, it's possible that Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth were working with General Sheppard on this investigation. And the D.C. police were called in to assist or possibly to contain the situation. The scrubbing of the broadcast suggests that whatever happened there was meant to remain classified."
"Anderson, General John Sheppard Special Operations Division code name Wraith Hunter Unit." Samantha revealed since it's already been disbanded.
Anderson's eyes widened. "You're joking. The Wraith Hunter Unit? I've heard of them. They were a highly classified team tasked with eliminating Wraith threats, even if it meant going rogue. If what you're saying is true, it would mean that General Sheppard was leading a team that was sanctioned to operate outside of normal protocols and answerable only to the highest levels of government."
"That's right," Samantha confirmed. "And given the sensitivity of the situation, it's understandable why they would want to keep the details of their operation under wraps. It's possible that Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth were working alongside the Wraith Hunter Unit as consultants or backup."
"On to the next question then," Anderson said, as he seems to lose his narrative. "How do someone join Stargate Command."
Samantha raised an eyebrow. "Stargate Command recruits the brightest mind in the galaxy. You need to have exceptional skills in various fields such as linguistics, astrophysics, mechanical engineering."
"Let's just say someone in the audience have a degree in gender studies and wants to join Stargate Command?
"Gender studies is an interesting field, and it's not one that we typically recruit for," Samantha admitted with a small smile. "However, if you have a strong background in social sciences and are passionate about understanding different cultures and societies, there may be a place for you at Stargate Command."
"Why have a degree in gender when you are in a small battle with an enemy like the Wraith who doesn't care if you are a male or female." Samantha pauses for a moment looking at the audience. "Are you gonna stop shooting the wraith and tell that Wraith that you are not a male and it's actually a female before it feeds on you?"
"Gender studies or any other useless degrees doesn't help" Samantha truthfully says. "Im sorry if I hurt your feelings, but you are living in the real world.I can tell you that Stargate Command will not have any position for someone who major in Gender Studies. You can work for the civilian sector if you want, but not for us.
Now, if you have any other useful skills like combat, medical, engineering, linguistics, or even computer science, we would love to have you. But you have to go through combat training even though you are not a marine or a soldier, you have to go through medical training even though you are not a doctor, you have to go through engineering training even though you are not an engineer. You have to prove that you can handle the stress and pressure of working in Stargate Command."
"I guess your right."The audience member sighs, looking a bit deflated as tears ran down his face. He has no meat in his bones, no muscle to speak of, and no military experience whatsoever. He look like a stick figure that someone had drawn and colored in with crayons. He is the epitome of uselessness. His pink dyed hair and his nail polish only emphasize his feminine features.
"What's your name?"
The pink haired and nail polished stick figure looked up at her. "A-Amy."
"Well, Amy," Samantha said, trying to sound reassuring, "you might not have the skills we're looking for right now, but that doesn't mean you can't work towards it. Why don't you try enrolling in some combat training or martial arts classes? Or maybe take up a technical course like computer science? The more diverse your skillset, the better your chances of finding a place in Stargate Command or any other military or government organization."
"Why combat training?" Amy ask.
"Well," Samantha said, choosing her words carefully, "it's not that we expect everyone to be on the front lines or anything. It's more about being able to defend yourself and your team if the situation calls for it. Stargate Command operatives often find themselves in dangerous situations, and it's important that everyone has at least a basic understanding of self-defense."
She paused, considering her next words. "Plus, combat training can teach you valuable skills like discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving. Those are all things that would be useful in any career, not just in Stargate Command. The ship you'll be station on, the people you'll be working with, they all come from different backgrounds and have different skill sets. But at the end of the day, we're all part of one team, fighting for the same cause."
"Another audience member have a question." Anderson said. "Yes, you can go ahead."
A man about 6'2 tall, around 200 pounds stood up with a microphone. He wore a gray sweatshirt and tan khakis. "Hi, my name is Han. I'm not gonna ask about gender studies, But i love looking up to the stars and I am a Star Trek fan."
"Which serious?" General Samantha Carter ask.
Han thought for a moment. "DS9."
"What's your question?"
"I want to join Stargate Command, but I don't have any experience with the military or with combat. I just want to explore the stars and find new life forms. Can I still join?" Han asks, hopeful.
"That's a great question." Samantha smiles. "We have science ships that's not part of the Navy, Stargate Command operate science ships and manned by Navy personnel, but they have backgrounds in astrophysics, biology, and other scientific fields."
"Is there a race that resembles the Klingon?" Han ask.
"Well, the galaxy is big. It's 100,000 light years across and we've only explored half." Samantha said. "You got to remember, the Goa'uld implanted humans from Earth to other planets."
"How about the Pegasus Galaxy?" Han ask.
"That's another story." Samantha said. "The Wraith that we know of."
"The Wraith?" Han ask.
"They're a race of vampiric beings that feed on the life force of other sentient beings."
"What kind of life force?" Han ask.
"Did you read or watch any of our reports on the Wraith?" Samantha asks.
"Sorry, I don't trust the mainstream media." Han said. "But, if they're in the Pegasus Galaxy, do you think there's a chance they'll invade the Milky Way?"
"They tried in 2009."Samantha paused, trying to gauge Han's reaction. It was clear he hadn't been following the news or the reports. "The Atlantis expedition was able to defeat them. But we can't discount the possibility of them trying again."
"That's all." Han said as he sat down as Samantha nodded understandingly.
Anderson looks to the camera. " We will be right back."

12:00 AM
"I got it!" Rodney exclaimed as he got out of bed in the middle of the night, disturbing Jennifer Keller from her sleep.
""Well, don't spread it," she murmured, turning over and huddling under the covers.
Unfazed by her half-hearted response, Rodney made his way to his desk and activated the holographic interface of his computer. Project schematics, calculations, and scientific theories started filling the air around him. The project was designed to generate power and expel exotic particles into another universe. The only problem was that Rodney hadn't yet identified what these exotic particles were. But now, in the middle of the night, he had finally figured it out.
"I got it!" Rodney exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement.
Jennifer blinked, still groggy from sleep. "No, Rodney, I have no idea. You haven't even told me what it is yet."
"The exotic particles," Rodney began eagerly, "are matter and antimatter, and somehow, they're bundled up and jammed together."
Jennifer sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "I'm not a scientist, babe," she said with a teasing smile. "But I watch enough Star Trek to know matter and antimatter don't mix without a magnetically shielded-containment chamber and a dilithium crystal."
Rodney grinned. "Well, there's no such thing as a dilithium crystal…but what can absorb massive amounts of energy and convert it into a controllable output?"
Jennifer raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"
"What if..." Rodney began, pacing the room as he thought aloud, "what if there was a way to convert the exotic particles, I mean, matter and antimatter?"
Jennifer frowned, not entirely following her husband's train of thought. "But how? They're supposed to be inseparable, right? Like peanut butter and jelly?"
Rodney stopped pacing and turned to face her, his expression intense. "I've been thinking about it all wrong!" He smacked himself on the forehead. "Jennifer, you are brilliant!"
Blushing slightly, Jennifer gave him an encouraging smile. "Why, thank you. So, what do you mean you've been thinking about it wrong?"
Rodney's grin widened. "Instead of opening a subspace bridge to expel the matter and antimatter, we can contain it in a containment field!" Then, a thought hit him. "Jennifer, where's my 1701 D technical manual?"
Jennifer shrugged and reached for a shelf, grabbing the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual Volume 1. She tossed it to Rodney, her voice tinged with sleepiness. "Here you go, but I'm not promising there's anything in here about containment fields."
Rodney caught the manual, his eyes shining with determination. He quickly flipped through the pages, searching for any information related to containment fields. As he read, his excitement grew.
"Jennifer, this is it!" he exclaimed. "There's a whole section on containment fields. We can modify my design to create a stable field around the matter and antimatter, preventing them from interacting until we're ready to use them!"
Jennifer sits up in bed, her interest piqued. "Really? I need some shut eye and We have a nude beach to find."
"Yeah yeah. Rodney replied.
"Are you sure?" Jennifer said as she entices him by taking off her top, revealing her sexy lace bra.
Rodney looks at her, a bit stunned. "Um...I mean...yes, I'm sure! This could change everything. We could revolutionize energy production and uhm…" His words trail off as he continues to gaze at her. "I mean, if we can pull this off, we could even help the Tau'ri Federation." He clears his throat, trying to regain his focus. "But right now, we need to get some sleep. We've got a lot of work to do tomorrow."
With a satisfied smile, Jennifer lies back down and pulls the blanket up to her chin. "Okay, but no more distractions, got it?" She closes her eyes, already drifting off to sleep.
New Atlantis
Colonel Anne Teldy, Major Alicia Vega, and Lieutenant Dusty Mehra is in Teyla's office, discussing the information they had extracted from Jared Booth, who had been handed over to CID (Criminal Investigation Division) a division under Tau'ri Federation Security and sent back to Earth.
"Did he say anything?" Teyla inquired, her eyes focused on the team.
"Yes, ma'am," Teldy replied.
"Well?" Teyla prompted, expecting someone to share the details.
"Sorry, ma'am," Teldy apologized, taking the initiative. However, before she could continue, General John Sheppard entered the office, giving Teyla a kiss on the cheeks before standing beside her and holding her hands.
"Sorry I'm late, I had a Larrin problem," John stated, acknowledging his delay. The three women saluted their commanding officer.
"At ease. Go ahead. What did Jared say?" John inquired.
"He mentioned that Nancy is his handler, giving her information while deep undercover with the Trust before he was caught," Vega explained.
"When you say Nancy...Nancy who?" Teyla sought clarification.
"John Sheppard's ex-wife, sir, his handler," Mehra clarified, directing her attention to her commanding officer. "Your ex-wife is Jared Booth's handler. She might have insight into his assignment, sir."
Teldy turns on her gauntlet and scrolling through the interface to a video she recording of Jared confession. The holographic image of Jared Booth appears, seated on a chair in a dimly lit corridor in the West Pier that had yet to secured.
"Yeah, what's the hurry?" Vega asked, escorting him to a chair in the corridor and making him sit down. "Is there somewhere you've got to be?"
"They have my Padme," Jared replied, looking down and rubbing his wrist.
"Padme Amidala?" Mehra asked, trying to suppress a laugh at the absurdity.
"Not Padme Amidala, Padme Dalaj, my wife," Jared clarified.
"Why would the Goa'uld want your wife?" Teldy inquired. "I checked your service record; there's no mention of you being married to Padme Dalaj."
"Why would I mention my wife's name on a public record? The Trust has spies in the Tau'ri Federation," Jared chuckled and continued, noting the absence of cameras in the corridor and their less-than-convincing acting. "Is it kind of obvious that you girls need some acting classes?" he teased, smiling.
"You knew"
"Teyla wants more information, not your wife's name," Teldy retorted. "What did you mean when you said the Trust has your wife?"
"The Trust has been lets...just say abducting scientist and brainwashing scientist, politicians."
"Why would the Trust need to abduct and brainwash politicians?" Teldy asked, genuinely curious. "What do they gain from that?"
"You know who controls the Trust?" Jared asked, tilting his head to the side. When Teldy shook her head in response, he continued, "The Goa'uld. They've been using the Trust as a way to gain influence and control over various factions within the Tau'ri Federation, particularly those with access to advanced technology or resources. By abducting and brainwashing these individuals, they can manipulate them into doing their bidding, all while keeping them under their thumb."
"We've defeated the Goa'uld before, Jared," Teldy said, trying to keep him focused. "We can do it again."
"No, not this time." Jared leaned forward, his voice lowered. "They have learned their lesson. They know we can defeat them, so they are adapting. They've been working on a new plan, something big. Something that would give them the edge they need to finally conquer the galaxy from the shadows."
Teldy glanced at her fellow teammate, as her heart began to beat rapidly. "What is this new plan?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jared leaned back in his chair, a sly smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "They're going to assassinate President Henry Hayes. There's a list of names of scientist, officers in the Pegasus Command and Tau'ri Federation Congress kept in a safe in my safety deposit box in Switzerland" Jared pauses for a bit. "The key is in my quarters onboard the Momotaro alongside a Goa'uld long range communication ball."
The video ends with a static as the holographic projection retreated back to Teldy gauntlet. Teyla, General John Sheppard, and Colonel Anne Teldy were silent for a moment as they digested the information.
"We need to find that list," General Sheppard grimly said. "You three beam aboard the Momotaro and secure Jared's quarters, gather as much evidence as you can."
Then a new voice that John is familiar with cut through the silence. It's Nancy Hayes, John's ex-wife. They turn their heads towards the door. "I hate to interrupt your little meeting here but you might want to hear what I have to say. I've been investigating for the last few years that could help you take down the Trust and stop the Goa'uld from killing my father-in-law."
"Father in law?" John blurts out. "I thought you were married to Grant a lawyer in Oklahoma."
Nancy gives him a look and says, "Yes, I am married to Grant but his father calls him by his middle name Jack or Jonathan."
"Good to know." John responded. "Henry Hayes is you father in law?" he asked, glancing at the others, who were all listening intently.
"It's hard to believe isnt it?" Nancy sighed. "The President of the Tau'i Federation is my father in law."
"What did you find out?" Teyla ask with a hopeful tone.
Nancy sighed before answering. "I've been digging through old files, following leads and connections. It's taken me years, but I think I've found something that could help. There's a hidden bunker outside of Washington D.C. that was built during the Cold War. It was supposed to be a secure location for the President and other high-ranking officials in case of a nuclear attack."
"The Trust has taken control of that bunker," she continued. "They've been using it as their headquarters, planning their attacks. Including this one against your father-in-law. I have the location of the bunker and the codes to get in. If we can take it back, we can use it as a base to launch our own counterattack against the Trust and the Goa'uld."
The others exchanged glances, weighing the importance of her information. Colonel Teldy turned to General Sheppard. "Sir, should we add this to our mission objectives?"
"No," Sheppard answered, his tone unwavering. "Our priority is to stop the assassination attempt on the President. Once that's taken care of, we'll deal with the Trust and the Goa'uld however we see fit. But for now, our focus is on protecting the President. You three head to the Momotaro, gather the evidence, and report back to me."
With that, Teldy, Vega and Mehra nodded leaving the room, leaving Teyla, General John Sheppard and Nancy Hayes in the office. Vega wanted to stay and be a fly on the wall to listen to the juicy drama that is going to unfold. Nancy meeting the General's wife for the first time after their divorce. Nancy glanced at John, a hint of uncertainty in her eyes.
Nancy notices that Teyla had a baby bump. "How far along?" She asks.
"3 months." Teyla replied
Nancy glanced at the baby bump on Teyla, then back at John. "Congratulations," she said softly. "I hope things are going well between you two."
"With 3 wives and 3 kids between us maybe a 4th, things are pretty hectic," John says with a grin. "But we're doing our best to keep everyone safe and happy." He glances at Teyla, a fondness in his eyes.
"4th one?" Nancy ask curiously as she raises her eyebrow.
"When I was kidnapped by Larrin, she took more than a blood sample." John stated, looking at Teyla and Nancy.
"She took your sperm?" Nancy asked, clearly surprised.
"Well, it wasn't like I could say no," John chuckled "I was knocked out at the time when she took me and my puddle jumper."
"That's...unconventional," Nancy said with a smile. "I met your other wife Chaya, but I havent met Mara."
"She's a good woman," John nodded.
"Listen John, not knowing what you did and know what you doing now, I'm glad that you didnt tell me." Nancy said with a soft smile.
"Which is?" John asked, returning the smile.
"Protecting both galaxies from these Wraith I read about." Nancy responded.
"Well, you see," John began, "it's not just the Wraith. There are other threats out there too, like the Goa'uld that turned into the Trust. And then there are the Asurans, which we destroyed. And let's not forget about the Ori and the whole ascension thing. It's a complicated mess, and we're doing our best to keep everyone safe."
"And you married to one ascended being." Nancy pointed out with a small chuckle. "You do have some experience with them."
"Its not actually marriage, its a soul bond." John explained, "Its a little different from marriage. It means that we're connected on a deeper level. We can feel each other's emotions, share thoughts and experiences. It's not something you can just turn on and off. It's for life."
"So, that's why you can't just date?" Nancy asked with a teasing smile.
"Well, we can date," John replied, returning the smile. "But it's a little complicated. You see, there's always this..." He paused, searching for the right word. "This awareness between us. It's like we're always connected, even when we're not together. It can make things...interesting."
Teyla chuckled softly. "It can also be quite comforting," she said. "To know that one is never truly alone."
"I'm sure it is," Nancy nodding in agreement. "It must be a unique experience."
"It is," Teyla replied with a soft smile. "We are all very fortunate to have found this bond with our mates."
"How did Mara come about?" Nancy asked, curiosity getting the better of her. "You two seemed to have a...different path to your relationship."
"Well, it was complicated," John admitted. "Mara was a princess, the daughter of the Lord Protector of this planet. She seduced me when I was a guest, their physician's name Otho, who tells me that one of his duties is to find the best match for the royal bloodline so that the royalty will still be capable of using the Ancient technology."
"And you agreed?" Nancy asked, surprised.
"Well, I wasn't in a position to say no," John said with a wry smile. "Had a sword up against my neck."
"And you agreed to take her as a wife for the Tau'ri Federation to use her planet as a base of operation and headquarters for Pegasus Command." Nancy said, understanding the situation.
"And a father to my son that I just found about, his name is Little John," John corrected her with a chuckle.
"I'm sorry," Nancy said, her face reddening a little. "I didn't mean to make light of that. It's just...well, it's complicated."
"It is," John agreed with a nod.
"What about Larrin?" Nancy ask.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get there." John said.
"Ma'am," Lieutenant Chuck Campbell called Teyla over the radio, not wanting to disturb her as she held a briefing in her office with her husband, General John Sheppard and Nancy Hayes.
"Travelers ship is a few minutes away." Chuck informs her as he glanced at the window, nodding when Teyla acknowledged the call. "Thank you, Lieutenant," Teyla replied over the radio. "Keep monitoring the ship."
Turning his attention to his fellow control technician, who seemed in need of a break, Chuck called out, "Lara."
The Icelandic female technician, Lara Aesgir, with her blond locks, looked at him and responded, "Yes, sir."
"Call me Chuck. I hate formalities," Chuck insisted, not fond of being addressed as sir.
"Sorry," Lara apologized.
"New here?" Chuck inquired.
"Yes, Chuck. Finished boot camp last week and got assigned here," Lara explained.
"How's your quarters?" Chuck asked, still monitoring the long-range sensors.
"Haven't been assigned yet, still on the Adalstienn," Lara replied.
As Chuck's eyes remained keen on the monitor, the Traveler ship that New Atlantis was expecting finally arrived. "Traveler ship, this is New Atlantis Flight Control," Chuck hailed the ship through the communication system.
A million miles from New Atlantis, a vortex of energy burst to life as an anomalous cloud of subspace energy and tachyon. The Traveler ship Alcaeus emerged from hyperspace, its aerobrake automatically halting its momentum as the main sub-light engine burst to life. Slowly, the ship accelerated towards the planet.
"Traveler ship, this is New Atlantis Control," a voice crackled over the radio.
"New Atlantis Control, this is Traveler ship Alcaeus," Captain Ilya Trugel replied. "We are ferrying High Admiral Hawdon Duexvro for the summit."
"Copy, Alcaeus. A flight of our fighters will rendezvous and escort your ship to our space dock," the voice responded.
Four F302 fighters and a single Naglfar appeared, flashing their lights to signal the Traveler ship to follow them. Due to the security concerns surrounding the High Admiral, the Traveler ship was given clearance to proceed directly to the space dock. As they approached the dock, the ships maneuvered towards a less crowded side dock. The F302 squadron escorted the Alcaeus to the dock before peeling off to join the other ships assigned to the summit.
The Space Dock was still under construction, with thousands of autonomous worker bees welding its steel frame. Some workers bees were carrying plating made from a mix of titanium, trinium, and neutronium alloy fabricated from a construction ship that came along with the Pegasus Fleet and run by the Corp of Engineers. Once finished, the dock would resemble a giant mushroom in geosynchronous orbit around New Atlantis its shields will encompass the entire planet in case the Wraith come looking for food to feed on.
Captain Ilya Trugel was speechless as the New Atlantis Space Dock came into view. "Amazing," he whispered in awe.
"Welcome to Tau'ri Federation Pegasus Command Space Dock," the voice crackled over the radio. "Opening bay doors."
The gigantic bay doors opened, their guiding lights blinking to lead the Traveler ship into the hangar. The Alcaeus docked with a metallic clank as mooring clamps secured its hull.
"Please exit your ship and follow the Marines to the transporter platform," the voice on the radio instructed.
Captain Ilya Trugel nodded, ordering his crew to disembark. As they exited the Alcaeus, they were greeted by a detachment of Marines wearing blue fatigues with the Tau'ri Federation Pegasus Command insignia stitched to their right and their names on the left. They wore red berets adorned with a winged horse jumping over a chevron. The Marines carried a strange weapon holstered to their hips, resembling a curled-up snake.
The Marines escorted the Travelers to a nearby transporter platform. One of the Marines addressed them, "Please stand in a single file, facing the center of the platform."
"Excuse me, where are we going?" one of the Travelers asked.
"You are being beamed down to the City of New Atlantis," the Marine informed them as they stood on the platform.
The platform hummed, scanning the crew for a few seconds before beaming them down to the city.
Stargate Operations
Central Spire, New Atlantis City
New Atlantis System, Pegasus Galaxy
They materialized in the Stargate Operations room, where a friendly and familiar face awaited them. Larrin approached High Admiral Hawdon Duexvro.
"Welcome to New Atlantis, Father," Larrin said, pointing to Henry Hayes. "President Henry Hayes of the Tau'ri Federation."
High Admiral Duexvro's eyes widened in surprise. "President Hayes," he said, extending a hand. "It's an honor to meet you."
President Hayes smiled, shaking hands with the High Admiral. "The honor is mine, Admiral. We are grateful for your presence at the summit."
"General John Sheppard." Larrin gestured to the man standing beside President Hayes. "General Sheppad is a Commander Tau'ri Federation Pegasus Command.
"And this is Teyla Emmagan Sheppard, Queen Mara and Chaya" Larrin continued, indicating the women standing beside General Sheppard. "Teyla is the civilian leader of the city of New Atlantis, Queen Mara is Monarch of this planet and Priestess Chaya of Athar and wives and soulmate of General John Sheppard."
High Admiral Duexvro nodded respectfully, "A pleasure to meet you, Lady Emmagan, Your Majesty and Reverend Mother."
"This is Colonel Anne Teldy, Second in Command of the Military Contingent," Larrin continued, gesturing to the woman standing beside Teyla. Colonel Teldy was shorter than the High Admiral, but she exuded an aura of calm confidence. Her blond highlights were pulled back into a tight bun, and her eyes held a steely glint."
High Admiral Duexvro nodded at each introduction, carefully taking in the appearance and demeanor of each individual. "I must say," he said, "you have an impressive group here. I am honored to be part of this historic summit."
"This is our head surgeon, Dr. Carson Beckett. And lastly, this is our chief engineer, Dr. Radek Zelenka." Larrin introduced two more men, both of them standing with their hands clasped behind their backs as they studied the group. Dr. Beckett was a tall, broad-shouldered man with a kind face and gentle eyes. He wore a white coat over his blue Tau'ri Federation uniform. Dr. Zelenka was shorter and stockier, with dark hair and piercing brown eyes. He wore a rumpled blue shirt and khaki pants, giving him the air of a man who was more comfortable in the engineering bay than in formal settings.
"We are all very glad to have you with us," President Hayes said, gesturing for them to follow. "Please, lets use the transporter to the west pier."
"But first, I would like to meet the man that impregnated my daughter 4 years ago" High Admiral Duexvro said calmly. Everyone in the room froze. President Hayes and General Sheppard exchanged a glance, while Teyla and Colonel Teldy looked surprised. Larrin and the Marines tensed up. Dr. Beckett and Dr. Zelenka remained still.
As High Admiral Duexvro's words hung in the air, an uncomfortable silence settled over the room. President Hayes, General Sheppard, Teyla, Colonel Teldy, Larrin, and the Marines all looked at each other, unsure of how to react. Dr. Beckett and Dr. Zelenka merely exchanged curious glances, eager to see how this unexpected turn of events would unfold.
Larrin, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and apprehension, took a step forward and addressed her father. "Father, I think that given the current situation, it might be best to discuss this matter in private," she suggested with concern in her voice.
High Admiral Duexvro nodded thoughtfully, weighing his daughter's words. Then, he turned to President Hayes and General Sheppard, dismissing Larrin's suggestion. "Nonsense. We are all adults here," he declared leaving no room for an argument.
General Sheppard, still recovering from the shock of the revelation, cleared his throat, breaking the tension that hung heavy in the room. "Sir, it's my genetic materials, beside a blood sample that she took from me when we first met," he admitted, his voice a mixture of resignation and pride. He glanced at Larrin, who stood by his side, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
High Admiral Duexvro considered this information, his gaze shifting between General Sheppard and Larrin. After a moment of deep thought, he spoke calmly, his voice betraying neither anger nor disappointment. "Yes, well, I'd like to meet this man who... fathered my grandchild," he announced, his eyes lingering on General Sheppard. "From the look of it, she has chosen well."
"Shall we transport to the West Pier and begin?" Henry Hayes asked, gesturing to the transporter platform. "We can discuss this further during the summit."
High Admiral Duexvro nodded in agreement, seemingly putting the matter aside for the time being. As they stepped onto the transporter platform, he turned to General John Sheppard and offered his hand. "Well, General, I suppose we're family now," he said with a light tone.
John Sheppard took the older man's hand, feeling a surge of warmth and acceptance from him. "Yes, sir. That makes us quite the unique team," he replied, unable to hide the hint of a smile on his face.
The transporter hummed as it began to activate, and they materialized on the west pier. The group stepped out and onto the pier, the gentle breeze carrying the fresh pine scent of trees. The afternoon sun cast the city skyline in warm hues, adding to the serene atmosphere. High Admiral Duexvro glanced at Larrin, who walked beside her father, their shoulders brushing lightly.
"Larrin," he said with a soft tone. "I want you to know that I am not angry."
"Thank you, Father," she replied with a steady voice.
The group began to walk towards the Governing Council building, President Hayes leading the way. General Sheppard walked beside High Admiral Duexvro, while Larrin and Dr. Beckett fell into step behind them. Colonel Teldy and the Marines brought up the rear.
West Pier, New Atlantis City
New Atlantis, Pegasus Galaxy
1400 HOURS - NAT (New Atlantis Time)
Henry Hayes, Queen Mara, Ladon Radin, Sora Tyrus, and Larrin materialized in the transporter on the West Pier of New Atlantis City. As the door opened, the group stepped out and breathed the fresh air of their newly discovered world. The city, buried under layers of dirt and greenery for thousands of years, had been unearthed by a powerful disintegrator beam, revealing its stunning architecture.
The Corp of Engineers and Functionaries scurried around, ensuring that everything was in working order. The massive crescent-shaped building caught Henry's attention immediately. It was a perfect structure to convert into a Governing Council building. The team had managed to clean it up, restoring its splendor.
Inside the building, a large room welcomed them. In the center stood a huge table, and on it lay a document titled "Tau'ri Federation Defensive Pact." Light fixtures on the ceiling illuminated the room, giving it an ethereal glow. The chairs surrounding the table were enough to house the anticipated delegates for the upcoming summit, which was scheduled to begin in an hour's time.
Henry placed his hands on the leather chair positioned at the end of the table and announced, "This is where we will hold the summit." As he glanced at his watch, he noted that it was 14:00 Hours in New Atlantis time, 2 PM. The summit was scheduled for 1500 – just an hour away.
Turning to Larrin, he inquired, "When will your father arrive?"
"Shortly, sir," Larrin responded politely.
As the others took in the remarkable sight before them, Henry asked Ladon and Sorya, "What do you think?"
Ladon appeared astounded. "I never thought or imagined this would ever happen in such a short amount of time. The transformation is incredible. What about the Coalition of planet members?"
Before Henry could respond, the intercom system activated. "Mr. President sir," It's the voice of General Sheppard. "The Travelers ship have arrived, and docking should be docking in space dock in a couple of minutes."
"Well, what do ya know." Henry chuckled, "Looks like our guests are arriving right on time. Larrin let's go greet your father, shall we?" As they walked toward the transporter, Henry glanced at his watch again. "Ladon, Sora, why don't you all take a seat? We've got a bit of time before the summit begins. Feel free for some refreshment."
The functionaries are replicating plates of food as they lay it on the table a few feet from the large table that will hold the delegates. The aroma of the food fills the air, tantalizing the senses. Ladon and Sora take went towards the refreshment table, taking the opportunity to study the food. There's a strange huge bird on a platter, with its feathers plucked, revealing pink, juicy meat underneath. Next to it, is a plate of what seems to be a cross between a mushroom and a cactus, the texture and color of the flesh hinting at a sweet taste. There are also bowls of what looks like a gelatinous substance, glistening in the light, with a variety of fruits and nuts embedded within. At the end of the table were a large bowl of red liquid and another of a clear liquid, both bubbling slightly.
Ladon and Sora grab a plate and took a seat at the table, examining the exotic food. They have never seen such a variety of cuisine before. The giant bird on the platter piqued their curiosity, as did the mushroom-cactus hybrid and the gelatinous dishes. There were a bowl of vegetables and fruits as well, which they assumed were safe to eat, of course it was replicated by the Tau'ri Federation own food fabricators.
The female functionary is wearing a white shirt with black khakis and a black tie. She had her jet black hair pulled back into a tight bun. She smiled when Ladon looked at the huge bird on the platter.
"What is that?" Ladon ask, he is unfamiliar with Earth delicacy.
"That, sir," the female functionary replied, "is a turkey." She glanced at the other items on the plate. "The mushroom-cactus hybrid is called a cactus pear, and the gelatinous dish is called aspic. The clear liquid is water, and the red liquid is cranberry sauce."
Ladon nodded, filing away the names for future reference. He wasn't sure about trying the turkey, but he did want to try the cactus pear. He took a small piece and popped it into his mouth, savoring the sweet and tangy flavor. Sora, on the other hand, went straight for the turkey, tearing off a piece of the succulent meat and devouring it. She let out a satisfied moan, surprising both Ladon and the functionary.
"What?" Sora looked up from her plate. "Been forever since I ate anything this tasty." She reached for another piece of the turkey and began to eat it, savoring the flavor. The functionary smiled, obviously pleased with Sora's reaction.
"Well, I must say, I'm glad you all are enjoying our Earth cuisine." She said, glancing at the plate of food on the table. "We take great pride in our culinary delights."
"Didnt you just replicated on the food fabricator?" Ladon ask the functionary. "So, it is not the real Earth delicacy?"
The functionary laughed. "Oh no, it's definitely the real thing. All of our food fabricators are programmed to replicate the taste and texture of Earth cuisine exactly."
"I see, do you have any alcoholic beverages that's not replicated?" Sora ask the male functionary. She stares at his chisel physic, his box chin and broad shoulder.
The functionary glanced at her for a moment, then looked away quickly, clearing his throat. "Uh, yes, we do have a selection of Earth wines and beers. However, the bar is closed until the reception begins."
Sora smiled slyly, "Oh, come on. Just a little taste won't hurt. I'm sure you have a few extra bottles hidden somewhere." She batted her eyelashes, her voice lowering suggestively.
The functionary coughed, clearly uncomfortable. "Uh, well, I'm afraid not. I'm sorry, but the bar is really off-limits until the reception starts. You'll have to wait until then." He shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
Ladon approaches his wife with cup of water and handed it to her. "Sora, please, you're embarrassing me." He whispered. "Just leave it alone." He turned back to the functionary. "I'm sorry for her behavior. She's been through a lot lately."

"Thank you, Father," she replied with a steady voice.
The group began to walk towards the Governing Council building, President Hayes leading the way towards council chamber. High Admiral Duexro looks at the spectacular architecture of the council chamber where he and the others will write laws and shape the future of the galaxy after the Ancients lost the war to the Wraith 10,000 years ago.
Henry approaches the High Admiral and stood by him. "Amazing isn't it?"
"Indeed, Mr. President," High Admiral Duexvro replied, his gaze towards the food variety on the banquet table a few feet from the conference table. He walks towards a turkey laying on the platter adorn with other meats, the female who is behind the table started to slice it for him. "What's this called?" he asks Henry.
"Why, that's turkey." President Hayes replied with a smile.
"And this turkey is native to this planet you call New Atlantis?"
"No, High Admiral," Henry replied. "It is native to our world, but we've fabricated a lot of our meals from that machine over there." Henry pointed to the black machine that's next to the functionary is standing. "
Ladon Radin approaches the High Admiral and Tau'ri Federation President, he didn't want to miss such an opportunity to meet them. "Your Excellencies, I am Commander Ladon Radin, leader of the Genii Confederacy."
"Commander Radin," High Admiral Duexvro acknowledged, nodding politely. "It is a pleasure to meet you."
"Likewise."
Henry looks around the room as walks toward the chair at the end of the conference table, he looks down at the Defensive Pact document that he wrote with the help of the Asgard AI. It has come to this very moment that he had been waiting for, the fate of the galaxy lies in the hands of the men and women who have gathered here.
"Ladies and gentlemen," President Hayes began, his voice booming through the room as the people in the room stop what they were doing and turn their attention towards him. "Please, find a seat with your name on it. The Defensive Pact document that we have all worked so tirelessly on is here, and we will begin the discussions momentarily. But first, I would like to introduce the Genii Confederacy, Commander Ladon Radin. Commander Sora Tyrus, High Admiral Duexvro, Queen Mara, Chaya Sar of Proculus." Henry glance at Teyla Emmagan and continues. "Teyla Emmagan Sheppard of the Athosian people."
Teyla is caught by surprise when her name has been called. "Ah, thank you, Mr. President."
"You deserve the recognition, Teyla," President Hayes said warmly, his voice carrying across the room. "You have been a beacon of hope to your people since the Atlantis exedition 8 years ago made first contact with you."
"Thank you, Mr. President," Teyla replied, her voice steady. She took a seat at the conference table, glancing around at the faces of her new allies. She looks at her husband, John Sheppard, who was standing nearby, and smiled at him reassuringly. Although she is married to John Sheppard and made Earth as her second home. "You did this?" She whispers to her husband.
"I talked to Halling earlier this morning," John Sheppard said with a smile. "They voted unanimously that you should sign this treaty. They're excited for the future."
She kisses her husband's cheek. "Thank you, John." Looking back at the conference table, she takes a deep breath and prepares herself for the discussions ahead. As the other leaders begin to gather around the table, she can't help but feel a sense of awe and responsibility. The fate of their civilizations, and perhaps even the entire galaxy, lies in their hands.
Henry smiles as he sees Teyla excitement. The presence of the Athosian people is a welcome addition to the Defensive Pact. As the leaders take their seats. He began the meeting by thanking everyone for coming. "We are gathered here today, not only as representatives of our respective peoples, but as stewards of the galaxy's future." He continued, his voice resonating with authority and determination. "For 10,000 years, the Pegasus Galaxy have been under attack and culled by the wraith's insatiable hunger to feed on our life energy or as we discovered, our souls."
